The Dolphins have already secured TE Mike Gesicki for the 2022 NFL season as they have placed the Franchise Tag on him. They can work out a long term deal or have his services for this season and reevaluate after. With a new HC, it’s difficult to say which is more likely. Other Dolphins players I would like us to re-sign are Emmanuel Ogbah, Nik Needham and Mack Hollins, and in that order. From outside our organization, I feel the interior of the O-line is a must fix so I would prefer to get Niners LG Laken Tomlinson. As some of you know, the Cowboys are willing to trade OL La’el Collins. Collins can play inside or outside, and can play either side at tackle, and play them all well. That’s a nice commodity to have, especially with what I believe is some young talent we have that we need to find spots for such as Austin Jackson and Liam Eichenberg. Some have already given up on these players, I think that’s foolish. Collins has been a fixture on the Cowboys line since ’15, although he did miss most of the ’16 season tearing a ligament in his big toe Game 3. He was placed on IR and missed the rest of that season. Otherwise he has been a steady presence for the Cowboys. I don’t know what compensation the Cowboys expect for Collins but I’d give up a 2nd or 3rd RD pick without any hesitation to get Collins. With so high a demand for quality O-linemen, the Cowboys just might cash in much higher for Collins. I suppose I’d consider our 1st RD pick (#29) as well. Other possible picks at #29 are C Tyler Linderbaum, WR Jameson Williams and probably a host of others that I haven’t even considered but GM Chris Grier has his eye on. Collins would start and be an upgrade just about anywhere we put him, and lord knows we need to upgrade the O-line. There are quite a few avenues to consider though, being we have a good amount of cap room and we can find 2 good free agent OL in Free Agency.
Back to re-signing our own, the Dolphins have to make Emmanuel Ogbah a priority. It’s not that Ogbah is a guy who takes over games, he’s not that type of player. He is a guy that consistently gets pressure from his side of the field and despite not having gaudy numbers in any one defensive metric, he’s had over 20 QB hits each of the 2 seasons he’s played here, and although he missed double digit sacks by one each year, with the emergence of Jaelan Phillips, I think Ogbah and Phillips could be both be perennial double digit sack guys. Ogbah’s 2 best seasons were here in Miami, so I’d hope he’d want to return to the place where he’s been most successful, although in all fairness, money will talk. We’ll have to show Ogbah some love ($$$) if we want him back. DB Nik Needham is a player I just love to watch. I remember when we drafted some guy (Noah Igbinoghene) and had such high expectations for that player. Instead, it was Nik Needham thrust into duty and call him an overachiever or whatever you want but he always proved he belonged on the field. It’s hard not to like and admire Needham and I truly hope we retain him as a player. Mack Hollins is another one of those players like Needham. We know he’s a special teams ace and that guy was always around the football on ST’s. He was also thrust into duty when others were expected to be ahead of him, but due to injuries, Hollins got more playing time than expected. He showed up and played well all the time. So often I’d see Hollins make a play and both I and the announcer thought it was TE Mike Gesicki, #86 and #88 look similar and their lithe body types are close as well. #86 has to be re-signed so the confusion can continue.
When you look at improving the team, most of us feel the O-line is the place where it needs to begin. I also feel like the majority here feel we should be adding veterans and not spending high picks on the O-line, as we all know we’ve spent quite a few in the last 2 years as it is, one 1st RD pick in 2020 (Jackson), two 2nd RD picks, 2020 (Hunt), and 2021 (Eichenberg). In 2019, we spent a 3rd RD pick on C Michael Deiter and we spent a 4th RD pick in 2020 on OG Solomon Kindley. I could see spending another 1st RD potentially on center Tyler Linderbaum. If they feel he’d be an immediate upgrade and a long term solution at center, it’s hard to argue pulling the trigger on that. We can also pick up probably the best center available in free agency Ryan Jensen formerly of Tom Brady’s Bucs. Lots of different ways to approach it, and Chris Grier is well aware of that. Tough part is there will be high interest across the board on quality offensive linemen so if we want a player, we’ll have to be very aggressive and pay whatever is necessary in order to get them. Bargain hunting is not an option.
I’m sure Grier has a clear plan as to what he’s doing, and then fallback plans when those are foiled. Even though we have deep pockets, the competition will be so high there’s likely to be a quick frenzy to start the free agency period off. Other than money, is Miami a destination where players feel like they can win? We have a bright new Head Coach in Mike McDaniel, but he’s a first time Head Coach, so is winning immediately realistic? Of course we have nice climate, especially during the colder months of the season and we also have no state income tax which makes the money go even further. I look forward to seeing what Grier and the Dolphins do when the communications between NFL teams and players (agents) begin on Monday March 14th. I have a feeling the bottom line of the NFL channel feed will be ringing like a pinball machine. Hopefully we’re doing some of the ringing!

GO DOLPHINS!!!!

I am on record as blaming Putin for starting a war against innocent people for no good reason and causing extreme negative results in the world and American economy.
Putin is my enemy, not any American.
If Putin were not so evil, there would be no geopolitical crisis, and we could get on with recovering from the pandemic.
too much money for me
Yeah I just heard that. Oh well.
Perfect! Didn’t want any part of him, his former coach can have him

Ken,
Sorry. What does that mean? Can a President set certain price caps for how much an oil company can charge for a gallon of oil or gas? Socialism? Huh? Are you saying Presidents do this now, or they could?
——————-
No tongue in cheek. Fact there is little that could be done in a free market economy. I suppose it could incentivize production but that is subsidizing the oil industry or it could apply rationing which is a form of socialism
Ken,
Gotcha. I am just always perplexed why people blame Presidents for gas prices. Trump, Biden or any of them, but I just figured everybody knew more about it than me.
because they are ignorant of how the world works and are so stuck in their tribal divides that they must blame “them”
Yep….lol and said succinctly.
Can’t blame Trump for Covid.
Can’t blame Biden for gas prices (unless want Russian oil).
Can’t blame Trump for the Dolphins not making the playoffs.
Can’t blame Biden for Ogbah’s pay raise.
Some things a Pres can’t control
But someone has to be blamed so put “them” glasses on…lol.
Chase Edmonds. Meh.
My thoughts as well
I feel the same, Brian. Could have done better, IMO.
Happy we paid Ogbah.
Ryan Jensen staying in Tampa.
Russia is asking China for not just economic but military aid. Talk about a sign that Putin bit off more than he can chew.
^^^^
This will be like Nam or Afghanistan were for USA as far as a black hole of resources and pointless loss of life for Russia, only way worse in the court of world opinion for Putin.
Or like Afghanistan was for the Russians. Charlie Wilson’s war with all those sanctions thrown in on top.
Not surprised. He is well liked there by not just the team but the fans.
Believe we had him for like $-3 mil? And saw the Pats signed him afer for 2 years for a total of $4 mil. He was one I favored keeping but he really must have stepped up his game.
^ “$2-3 mil”
Edmonds salary puts him right around 12th or 13th highest paid RB in the league and is comparable to Nyheim Hines, Austin Ekeler, and Kareem Hunt.
https://overthecap.com/position/running-back/
Expect him to catch a lot of passes. I don’t expect him to be a 1,000 yard rusher but part of the running game by committee.
We’ll likely draft a RB and have a lot of competition in TC.
Talking average per year on both counts
And he’s only ever broken 100-yards in a game twice in his 4-year career.
He didn’t get the carries. Everyone is acting like he’s our new bell cow and I don’t look at it like that. He’s an excellent receiver. Think about the offense we’re likely to run and how he’ll fit.
Yeah, still not sitting well with me. He is definitely not worth top 15 money or even top 20, IMO. I can see a 4th round rookie give us what he will.
At a quick glance, his numbers are very comparable to what Ekeler had done when he signed a similar contract, then Ekeler busted out last year. Hopefully we get the same thing in Edmonds.
I’m not arguing with you guys that question it though, the signing doesn’t make me all tingly, lol. But it’s only two years and not ridiculous money or anything, and McDaniel has seen him plenty, so fingers crossed 🙂
Receivers are going to go fast.
$6 million per year is too much to pay a RB in this system.
^
That sucks
So we resigned Ogbah, even though God (Omar) said he was leaving, something we all knew was bs
^^^^
LOL
You called that one back when Omar stupidly said it.
He is going to feast there
The other tool the POTUS has in fighting fuel prices is the strategic oil reserve. The US released 50 Million barrels from the reserve back in November to fight the rising prices and then again on March 1st we pledged to release another 30Mil barrels in concert with our allies for a total of 60Mil barrels.
This is the largest release of oil from the reserves in history. Cue the peanut gallery saying Biden is endangering our country by eating into these reserves…..
I am not going to shit on the Edmonds signing just yet. It’s not the move I anticipated but let’s see how this plays out. It’s not like we neglected a need in FA. We just need to see if it was the right guy to address the need
Right and maybe coach McD has a vision for his skill set. Imagine that.
People are acting like we signed him to an Aaron Jones contract. LOL
Interior OL disappearing FAST
Good, don’t really want any, maybe a C, but…
So, we are supposed to roll with what we got and some more rookies. I don’t get it that logic.
There ain’t any good OC’s left so I guess we don’t need any FA OL then.
No, you said interior OL, we need at least 1 OT
I like him but yeah let him go. Looks like Jax is going to overpay him anyway as a #2 WR at best.
Most receivers will only be as good as you let them be, they have to be used properly
Some won’t have the stats to back it up
Glad we signed Ogbsh, disappointed Tomlinson signed with of all teams the damn Jets
But you still have hope for Collins 👘
If ever a team needed help at WR, it’s the Jags. (and the patsies, but no one cares).
Let them over pay for WRs, leaves more for us to draft (Jameson> yeah).
FA C? Can anybody spell Linderbaum?
Looks like the FO put all their eggs in one OL basket for Collins while other really good ones slip away. If they give up a pick for him, I will be pissed. There are reasons Dallas wants to move on from him.
Or we’re looking at Armstead…
Give them a 4th
“U.S. crude last week recorded a drop of 5.7% after touching a high of $130.50 on March 7. ”
Too soon to know if that will keep up and there will be a lag before it hits the pumps if it does, but can’t be anything other than a good sign.
Glad we got Ogbah. Don’t really see the RB but hey, McD is a RB dude so let’s see. Hoping for Collins. or some kind of OL help. Slow so far but not really a bid deal.
Teams are throwing a lot of big money at players. I’m seeing Safeties getting paid big bucks.
Count yourselves lucky!
I just got out of a meeting to schedule a tie-in that would reduce the Refineries output by 24,000 barrels a day!
It was brutal!
for 3 days that is
I don’t really understand WHY refineries would be reducing output…..so they can price gouge?
Sorry but that’s not any President’s fault! Lol….
Why did you think this is about Biden?
I said My company needed to shut this down to do our work! And seeing as how I’m in charge of that I had to try to sell it to Exxon.
It wasn’t very fun!
During the offseason many here wanted us to keep Gesicki and re-sign Ogbah. That’s been accomplished. FA isn’t over, there are still OL out there.
Give me an OT, a WR, and an ILB all of better than avg ability and we’ll be fine, the rest can be mostly for depth, and re-sign Smythe
I’m sure I’m forgetting someone, but…
Mack Hollins and Duke and Duke too
Now for my political post. Is this wrong?
Or this?
I guess Elon has no clue either about the markets.
Does lower production reduce supply and increase prices?
It must not, because the president can’t do anything to control the price of gas, I read that above from our fact checkers
He’s talking about direct about direct government intervention in what private businesses do. We could do that, but it is a socialist/communist move.
Rubio conveniently sites from 2019 before the oil price crash. And not surprisingly also leaves out that the US pumped more oil in Biden’s first year than Trump’s.
America produced 11.185 million barrels of crude oil per day in 2021,
Annual average U.S. crude oil production reached 9.3 million barrels per day (b/d) in 2017, an increase of 464,000 b/d from 2016 levels after declining by 551,000 b/d in 2016.Apr 4, 2018
If you need to produce more to keep the price in check you do, your statement means nothing
Glad to know my statement means nothing. You do have an interesting way of conversing. And love you for it.
It was more than Trump’s first year but Trump pushed to increase production while Biden has pushed for less production. We are still producing less oil than 2019. Why?
And we produced less under Trump in 2020 than under Biden in 2021. I’ve already explained why cherry-picking years is pretty pointless cause the global oil market has far more to do with US production than who is Pres.
See Wyo’s post at 2:55 pm….lol

This one either
Good to hear that Fatukasi left the jest … that guy has been called a bowling ball covered in knives …
I’m assuming we’re still adding a big name at OT, and we have Eich at the other position. If we have Hunt locked in at RG and we draft a center high, Jackson, or any of the other guys can man the LG position. Makes perfect sense we didn’t go after any of the top interior guys.
Did Biden put out some sort of executive order telling Big Oil to cut back on production? And they just said, “yes sir, you’re the boss.”
IF oil production is down, why is that? Did Congress pass a law limiting how much oil can be pumped? Did Biden tell them to pass such a law?
I don’t think the government can require any business to make less of its product.
Oil is hit and miss. As old wells dry up, you need to look for new ones. If it’s expensive to invest in new leases or the leases aren’t expected to produce oil or much oil, then you don’t waste the money investing. No one has a crystal ball on where the next big well will appear. That’s why, in a hostile environment, like Biden’s, oil people just look elsewhere. You could read that series of posts from Drew Holden as well.
I just read that Armstead has missed almost 32% of his games since 2015. Not exactly a ringing endorsement.
He’s missed more games than DeVante Parker over the last 4 seasons.
Yes, that was part of it- Parker had missed 17%
He hasn’t played a full season in his 9 years in the league. You’re paying a heavy price for a guy you can basically guarantee won’t play all 17 games.
Yeah that is a concern.
I have always been against the Armstead signing.
Long and good dissection of why Edmunds is a great fit for the Phins. Snippet and full article link below. Well worth the read.
“In Edmonds, McDaniel now has that zone-blocking fit, as well as one of the league’s more efficient backs from a season ago. After all, according to Sports Info Solutions charting data, Edmonds’ EPA per rushing attempt jumped to 0.14 on zone designs, ranking him ninth in the NFL last season, and seventh among running backs.”
https://touchdownwire.usatoday.com/lists/mike-mcdaniel-chase-edmonds-miami-dolphins/
Kong,
Except Jackson looked terrible at guard, and it exposes his biggest weakness. His lack of power and attitude. He plays soft. That is mitigated somewhat in a zone scheme, but I still don’t like Jackson at guard. I’d rather put him back at LT and see if they can coach him up. Frankly, I think I’d rather see Jesse Davis at guard than Jackson.
I’d rather see Jackson off the team, lol.
I’m not saying he’s good there, I’m saying we can fill that spot with a player already on the team that may not be the best. We have a good RG, we draft a C, we have a young guy we expect to get better in Eich at OT, we add a big name at the other OT spot, and we make do at LG.
I didn’t ever expect us to spend a boatload of money in FA at two OL positions, so I’m not surprised we didn’t add a high cost interior guy.
“If Biden would let America get back to 2019 production we won’t need a single drop of oil from #Venezuela or #Iran or anyone else” so says extreme Republican Rubio.
Who is this “America” of which he speaks that Biden is ordering to not produce oil?
The country called “America” does not own any oil wells.
The US government does not.
The Democrat party does not.
We the people do not (although I personally have bought a bunch of oil stock recently as I could see that they would be making obscenely high windfall profits).
Again, I find it impossible to imagine the CEO of Shell or BP or Exxon or Conoco calling up Biden and asking permission on how much oil to produce, or taking such a call and telling their engineers to shut off the drills because a Democrat told them to.
We don’t need any oil from Venezuela or Iran they were approached to increase their production to account for the shortfall being experienced by European countries
That’s why the pres can only do so much. But as Musk suggested he can make certain moves to force/bribe US oil production, even if that is anti-free economy.
I can see why he chose them!
https://twitter.com/AdamSchefter/status/1503449400311492616?s=20&t=wqbTmZ_NQo3u3BbV7V0e0g
Wow
That’s is completely absurd. I read that we had conversations with his agent. Glad we passed
Looks like China should have bought Pfizer or Moderna vax instead of developing its own.
—————————————-
China appears to be losing the battle to contain COVID-19, but it’s not yet ready to admit defeat.
Facing the worst national outbreak since the first wave of the pandemic, authorities have introduced lockdown restrictions in cities across the country, with production lines falling idle in the tech hub of Shenzhen and offices shuttered in the financial capital Shanghai.
Chinese virologists say the arrival of the Omicron variant and its new “stealth” subvariant—both of which appear to evade China’s Sinovac vaccine—could leave the no Covid policy in tatters.
Kong,
Eich looked pretty bad at LT. I don’t think he looked any better than Jackson did. I think we need to remember that Jackson is still only 22 years old. He’s still a kid playing with me . Eich is actually 24, and I think that extra 2 years is huge for OL.
I thought Eich looked better at times in the 2nd half of the season. Jackson was garbage at both LT and LG all year IMO. I would much rather give Eich another year than Jackson, but I think we’ll keep both.
My guess is we’re moving Eich back to RT (which is where he says he’s more comfortable), and I believe there is a good chance we sign Armstead.
I’d rather keep Eichenberg at LT and grab Collins. I don’t like Liam protecting Tua’s blindside.
That could happen too. No matter which way we go with the vet OT, we’re gambling. Dallas is letting Collins go for a reason. And we already discussed the risk Armstead brings.
Agree Jackson has much better potential than Eich. Eich is trash. Jackson is trash but with potential
Let’s hope Jacksonville didn’t just fuck the market up for WRs…
Obviously the president can’t control the price of gas, but that’s not what we’re talking about
It’s controlled through his policies
War could’ve been avoided too, that would’ve kept prices down
It’s no accident Putin went to war under the weak Biden
If we can manage to land Bobby Wagner and trade for La’el Collins, I think we’ll have won the first wave of FA.
I approve this message!
That would be a successful FA. Kept Gesicki, re-signed Ogbah, shoredup the middle of the D with a playmaker, got that vet OT. 👍
M13,
With how these contracts are going, Wagner will cost about $50M a year and Collins will be $30M! Lol
If we trade for La’el, we’ll have him locked in at $10M/per over the next 2 seasons. Bobby Wagner, on the other hand? Could be $$$$$$$!
🍻
You’re probably right on Wagner, lol.
Collins is under contract though at 10 mil, part of what makes him an intriguing trade and part of the reason we could still entertain getting Wagner.
So, basically, Ogbah’s deal is 2 years/$32M?
17m in cash in 2022, 4m salary + 3.25 in roster bonus = 7.25m likely cap hit
Jalen, when you, you know, actually lock them down come back and ask for more!
That was a fun mad rush. Now there should be a lull and you guys can talk oil without all that pesky football stuff getting in the way 😉

LOL
LOL
Kong,
I made the mistake of asking about oil prices, and I’m not any more knowledgeable as to whether a President actually affects prices or not! Thankfully, I just don’t give that big a shit! Lol
***
I’ve wasted almost a whole day off chatting about other people’s money and now I’m just depressed. Time to start drinking!
LOL
I’m certainly not one to judge, what with my Calvin and Hobbes, food talk, movies, etc. lol.
I just found it hilarious that we actually had a couple hours of full on football stuff to talk about and that was when they wanted to talk about the oil. All in good humor from me though 🙂
Doaks and Coleman come off the top 51 and their combined 1.46m off the cap
Haven’t seen the signing bonus numbers yet for Edmonds
About 36m under cap now
Would like to see Larnel given a shot at OT, hope he bites early in the new system
Kong,
My son, who’s 26 now, loved Calvin and Hobbes. He loved it so much that he asked for Calvin and Hobbes books for Christmas. We bought him 2 huge books full of C&H strips. These books were huge and not cheap, but my boy still has them and loves them. I spent many hours reading them with him, so your posts have brought back some really nice memories for me. Thank you.
Just a wild guess on my part, but if we’re to land Bobby Wagner, I’d suspect it to be in the range of $16M/per… based on age, performance, and value.
I find that to be very palatable.
We’ve got $35M in cap space at the moment. Sign Wagner ($16M), trade for La’el ($10M), and we’re at $9M… and still able to clear out over $21M more in cap space if warranted.
Then we sign QB Marcus Mariota to backup Tua.
If we sign Wagner it will come with a signing bonus, so less than 16m cap hit
M13,
Why wouldn’t Wagner be looking to go to a contender? He’s an immediate starter wherever he goes, and he’s gonna get paid, regardless. I just don’t see him coming to a team like ours.
Tax-free Florida, we could be a contender if all falls correctly and in a short time, and sunny SOBE! 😀
He’s a west coast guy though and may want stay out there if he can.
I think he will go a team that has been a perennial playoff team or a team that has made the playoffs recently and is on the rise. But I’d be psyched if he signed with us.
Stanger, good stuff on Edmonds. That is why we signed him. He fits the scheme we’re going to run. Add that to his receiving skills and we have a good fit. That’s what it’s all about.
Yeah — I’m amazed they got that detailed article about Edmund’s fit for the Dolphins out so quickly. Was obviously not one about him with “insert team name when Chase signs” written at the top of the file.
Because of McDaniel and what the 49ers ran. FYI it’s Edmonds with an “o”. 😉
Randy, that’s awesome. I’m glad so many here are enjoying the weekday C&Hs as much as I am 🙂

Great point, but let’s say his cap hit is $16M: I’d rather over-estimate his $$$ than under-estimate. We’re cap-healthy enough to afford him, even by over-estimating his $$$.
Edmonds
Rec 2020 53-402 rush 448 4.6
850 yards
Rec 2021 43-311 rush 592 5.1
903 yards
Good production from a shared back
Yeah and this article Stanger posted in case you missed it explains a lot about the metrics that McDaniel values and Edmonds excels at.
https://touchdownwire.usatoday.com/lists/mike-mcdaniel-chase-edmonds-miami-dolphins/
That article is fine, but not sure how the Kyler effect, worked for Edmonds
How much did he benefit from the threat of Kyler keeping the ball
Probably some for sure, but it’s also about the reads Edmonds made too.
————
Agreed with Barry.
We need to be able to use the running game to get some easy first downs, that’s where the OL comes in, we can’t be a team that struggles to move the ball
It costed us the Jags game and made us non competitive against Bills
I read $22 million
Cedrick Wilson…
https://www.pro-football-reference.com/players/W/WilsCe01.htm
I guess they are banking on Wilson continuing to improve- that’s a lot of money for someone with 837 career yards. He’s going to have to change his number.
Yeah he’s a player on the rise. LOL on his # change.
We’re signing Teddy Bridgewater as our backup QB.
Could do worse
That’s what you want in a backup QB, a vet who has started games and can help win you some games when called on. He did that for the Saints when Brees got hurt a few years back going 5-0.
Works for me.
Good safe signing
Future X money!
Omar was wrong, once again.
Good get him out of the division. 🙂
Still no sign of OL help on the way 😩
No I am guessing they are targeting a trade for Collins and looking to draft OL early
Let’s hope so. I would be ecstatic with Collins on board and then Linderbaum @29. May need to move up a little to get him.

Dolphins TE Mike Gesicki has signed his franchise tag tender, per source.
As for the OL, the new coaches may have seen stuff watching game video that can be corrected, and they may also know about some guys in FA who aren’t household names but can come in and compete. The draft too.
I’m sure, but we can’t afford to take any chances there. This OL was atrocious last season, and it needs to be upgraded .
I heat ya man, but what it really comes down to is playing better. Our OL is really young but now they’ve all gotten their feet wet. We’ll see it all pans out.
At this moment in time… it sure as heck looks like we could have an LA vs LA Super Bowl this coming season.
I had to look up Wilson (plus watch the highlights provided on the blog), didn’t know anything about him.
I really like the Bridgewater signing. I think he’s a perfect backup for Tua and definitely an upgrade over Brissett
Why even have this legal tampering period in FA, this is FA. LOL
LOL, EXACTLY!!!
It’s totally goofy. So when FA officially starts there is nobody left. LOL
LOL, I had that same though about 5 minutes ago. What is the point?
*thought
With the signing of Cedrick Wilson, that might be the end of Parker.
I hope so. Nothing against Parker but he’s too injury prone and inconsistent. We need someone who will be on the field.
Yeah he’s a talented WR but can’t stay on the field.
Maybe, maybe not. DeVante is still a palatable $8.7M this year.
If he could actually play all 17 games in a season, he’d be worth more than double that.
I said might. 😉
I saw that and took heed, Bro! That’s why I said maybe, maybe not. 😉
The Braided Coconut goes 0 for 2 on opening day!
He’ll then revert to bashing everything we did and giggling about how we should have done this or that.
I want to point something out when writing a typo. You don’t have to create a reply to correct your word when we all know what was meant. I had a typo to Brian saying “I heat ya man” when I meant “I hear ya man”. Did I really have to correct that for him or anyone else to understand? Kong felt the need to correct “though” to “thought”. In the context I think we all get it. We have so many posts with a word correction. Unless you leave out a word or say one that totally changes your point, (like saying should instead of shouldn’t) can we just let let it go? LOL
You’ve pointed this out before. I’ll continue to correct my typos when I want to because I want to, not because I felt you wouldn’t understand if I didn’t. Call it OCD or whatever you want, lol.
If you don’t want to correct your typos with another post because it annoys you in some way to do that, that’s awesome, then don’t. Not everyone thinks the same way you do.
LOL, it’s all good bro. I laugh at it almost like if you said a dirty word and then wanted to change it. All I meant is it’s not needed. I actually didn’t even notice “though” instead of “thought” because of the context. You pointed it out. Our minds see things even during errors.
Did you ever see those backwards words “if you can read this you’re a genius” posts on social media? We can read backwards because we comprehend letters.
Tim,
To your point, we absolutely need to get something out of some of the guys currently on our OL. I think our best shots are Hunt, Jackson and Eichenberg in that order. Maybe Coleman is a dark horse, but we can’t afford to hope our OL grows, we need to upgrade talent (draft) and grab someone proven (Collins). Kindley is decent, as is Deiter, but they are depth pieces now IMO. They’ve been given the chance to solidify the job and haven’t been able to do it. Next.
I heat ya man, errr… I mean I hear ya man. LOL
I’m looking to the coaches on this one. Maybe they saw mistakes that were more alarming than the talent. You know as coaches say, we gotta clean that up. I’m sure we’re still going to address the OL.
Let’s hope the coaches can get the most out of them!
Brian, it goes back to what I said during the season. Grier and Flores’ biggest mistake was going too young too quickly on the OL. It’s okay to play a rookie here and there, or a couple of young OL at the same time, but not 4 and 5 at the same time which was the case with us the last two years.
Strange thing is even though they were not good, we somehow won 19 games with them. Imagine what could be if they now play better with more experience under their belt and a couple of additions that upgrade group.
Tim, rather than just the snappy response I posted earlier, lol, I’ll reply with a little insight into my mind and thought process about communication.
Often when I post comments I’ll read something I post and realize after the fact it can be read in a completely different way than I intended. I’ll often come to that realization about other people’s posts too. I’ll read it one way, then realize it might read completely different and mean something else. This is just the way it is with written word where there is little available to show inflection and no body language to assist in the communication. Typos can amplify this phenomenon.
I don’t want to take the time to analyze every comment I make with a typo in it for all possible meanings to determine if it’s obvious. I’d rather just make it a point to correct typos to key words in my comments regardless of how ‘obvious’ the comments may be, because maybe it isn’t as obvious to everyone what was meant as I think it is. It’s just a standard practice I use and a thought-out decision. Capiche? 😊
Understood. I just posted this to Brian and maybe I make mistakes when posting to him because he’s a teacher. LOL
“Imagine what could be if they now play better with more experience under their belt and a couple of additions that upgrade group.”
I forgot “the” group at the end. I’m pretty sure everyone got what I was saying. 🙂
I absolutely get what you’re saying. Often the intent and content is still expressed adequately. I’m not even saying you’re wrong, just that I walk a different path.
And as a side note, how the heck did I get the embarrassed face on my previous comment, that was supposed to be smiley. I don’t even know how to type an embarrassed face with text and I typed it, wtf?
…or maybe rosey cheeks, not embarrassed…whatever that ‘more-than-a-smiley’ face is. lol
LMAO!!!!
…the irony…🤣
I haven’t looked at the Cowboys WR roster but with Cooper and now Wilson gone, could Parker end up being part of a Collins trade?
Well they just paid Gallup and they have Lamb, but that’s an interesting thought.
I think the 5’10” 183 Cedric will replace Parker
Cedrick Wilson Jr. is 6-2 195/200 depending on where you look.
Ok, was actually shocked, when that height appeared, he looked over 6
Aaron Wilson
@AaronWilson_NFL
Former Texans, Giants and Patriots corner and special-teams ace Keion Crossen is signing with the Miami Dolphins on a three-year, $10.5 million deal that averages $3.5 million annually, per a league source. Crossen negotiated his own deal. Strong deal, good player
Josh Boyer knows him being on the Pats in 2018. Then Joe Judge being from the Pats had him last year. Connections are important.
Good start in my opinion. Now let’s get after the OL.
This is the type of WR I wanted Berrios was my first choice
Mike O
@OMalTheAlleyCat
Cedric Wilson will be what the Dolphins wanted Albert Wilson to be… which is what they had in Jarvis Landry before they let him walk.
Maybe Landry, but I don’t see the Wilson comparison.
Ooops! Late to that one.
It’s difficult to get a lot of tackles on STs these days. Between the kickoffs that are usually touch backs, and the fair catches on punts, or the ones that go out of bounds or get downed at the spot. Those plays have been eliminated by a lot.
So long as Mack MFin Hollins gets re-signed, I’m good.
I was just discussing that with my buddy. You can now have 8 ST tackles and be considered an ace…
Yeah I like him a lot. He’s probably testing the market and sometimes guys like him get lost in the FA frenzy and then go back to where they’re comfortable. We’ll see.
For us Star Wars fans…
Brian, I think STs ace means more than tackles. It’s more about doing your job on the play. Most of us spend very little time thinking about it. But coaches know what it’s supposed to look like.
For instance Mack Hollins was excellent at it, but what I saw was he was always right on the PR making a fair catch or downing the ball inside the 20 or 10. That’s what it is now. Returns are almost a non factor. I think that’s why we moved on from Jakeem Grant.
Agreed. The game has changed to protect the players, especially on kickoffs .
Yeah and I think it sucks but I’m used to it now. There was a time when some of the best players on your team handled both KR and PR. Now the money and the fear of injury has made the league change the rules.
I’m flying to Seattle tomorrow guys
Make sure while I am away the Dolphins do everything I want
You guys are in charge, don’t let me down
We have a bunch of FA players waiting to sign when FA officially starts. LOL
By the way, we haven’t signed any OL.
The Bills are drying in NY and the country of error and the state of NY are paying for it
Complete BS that tax payers have to pay for stuff like this. The owner of the bills is a energy tycoon
Agreed. I don’t want to pay a fucking dime to help that team out. Typical NY move though, always on the backs of the taxpayers.
Wilson, whose father played for the 49ers from 2001-04 and for the Steelers from 2005-07, is a speedy wide receiver with after-the-catch ability.
He averaged 5.6 yards after the catch in 2021, a figure that tied for 14th among NFL wide receivers. As a point of comparison, Jaylen Waddle led all Dolphins wide receivers last year with a 4.2 YAC average.
Maybe he is the guy to take some heat off of Waddle or make plays himself
He’s a guy you hope you found before he blows it up. In FF I had Terrell Owens (3rd rd) back in the day before he was TO, and another friend of mine had Terrell Davis (6th rd) before he was TD. We both moved on from them too early and then had to compete with them for a decade. LOL
Not saying Cedrick Wilson Jr. is going to be that. But we’re getting a former 6th round pick who has worked on his game for 3 years and put his talent on video last season. The light went on. I want to find out if he’s a willing blocker as a WR. McDaniel is big on that.
I like DeVante Parker catching the football but he’s always been a meh blocker. I’ve seen him give last ditch effort on many plays over the years.
I feel Wilson is the younger ascending WR with size that our new HC was looking for. It’s pretty simple to come to that conclusion. We’re signing him. LOL
