The Dolphins have already secured TE Mike Gesicki for the 2022 NFL season as they have placed the Franchise Tag on him. They can work out a long term deal or have his services for this season and reevaluate after. With a new HC, it’s difficult to say which is more likely. Other Dolphins players I would like us to re-sign are Emmanuel Ogbah, Nik Needham and Mack Hollins, and in that order. From outside our organization, I feel the interior of the O-line is a must fix so I would prefer to get Niners LG Laken Tomlinson. As some of you know, the Cowboys are willing to trade OL La’el Collins. Collins can play inside or outside, and can play either side at tackle, and play them all well. That’s a nice commodity to have, especially with what I believe is some young talent we have that we need to find spots for such as Austin Jackson and Liam Eichenberg. Some have already given up on these players, I think that’s foolish. Collins has been a fixture on the Cowboys line since ’15, although he did miss most of the ’16 season tearing a ligament in his big toe Game 3. He was placed on IR and missed the rest of that season. Otherwise he has been a steady presence for the Cowboys. I don’t know what compensation the Cowboys expect for Collins but I’d give up a 2nd or 3rd RD pick without any hesitation to get Collins. With so high a demand for quality O-linemen, the Cowboys just might cash in much higher for Collins. I suppose I’d consider our 1st RD pick (#29) as well. Other possible picks at #29 are C Tyler Linderbaum, WR Jameson Williams and probably a host of others that I haven’t even considered but GM Chris Grier has his eye on. Collins would start and be an upgrade just about anywhere we put him, and lord knows we need to upgrade the O-line. There are quite a few avenues to consider though, being we have a good amount of cap room and we can find 2 good free agent OL in Free Agency.
Back to re-signing our own, the Dolphins have to make Emmanuel Ogbah a priority. It’s not that Ogbah is a guy who takes over games, he’s not that type of player. He is a guy that consistently gets pressure from his side of the field and despite not having gaudy numbers in any one defensive metric, he’s had over 20 QB hits each of the 2 seasons he’s played here, and although he missed double digit sacks by one each year, with the emergence of Jaelan Phillips, I think Ogbah and Phillips could be both be perennial double digit sack guys. Ogbah’s 2 best seasons were here in Miami, so I’d hope he’d want to return to the place where he’s been most successful, although in all fairness, money will talk. We’ll have to show Ogbah some love ($$$) if we want him back. DB Nik Needham is a player I just love to watch. I remember when we drafted some guy (Noah Igbinoghene) and had such high expectations for that player. Instead, it was Nik Needham thrust into duty and call him an overachiever or whatever you want but he always proved he belonged on the field. It’s hard not to like and admire Needham and I truly hope we retain him as a player. Mack Hollins is another one of those players like Needham. We know he’s a special teams ace and that guy was always around the football on ST’s. He was also thrust into duty when others were expected to be ahead of him, but due to injuries, Hollins got more playing time than expected. He showed up and played well all the time. So often I’d see Hollins make a play and both I and the announcer thought it was TE Mike Gesicki, #86 and #88 look similar and their lithe body types are close as well. #86 has to be re-signed so the confusion can continue.
When you look at improving the team, most of us feel the O-line is the place where it needs to begin. I also feel like the majority here feel we should be adding veterans and not spending high picks on the O-line, as we all know we’ve spent quite a few in the last 2 years as it is, one 1st RD pick in 2020 (Jackson), two 2nd RD picks, 2020 (Hunt), and 2021 (Eichenberg). In 2019, we spent a 3rd RD pick on C Michael Deiter and we spent a 4th RD pick in 2020 on OG Solomon Kindley. I could see spending another 1st RD potentially on center Tyler Linderbaum. If they feel he’d be an immediate upgrade and a long term solution at center, it’s hard to argue pulling the trigger on that. We can also pick up probably the best center available in free agency Ryan Jensen formerly of Tom Brady’s Bucs. Lots of different ways to approach it, and Chris Grier is well aware of that. Tough part is there will be high interest across the board on quality offensive linemen so if we want a player, we’ll have to be very aggressive and pay whatever is necessary in order to get them. Bargain hunting is not an option.
I’m sure Grier has a clear plan as to what he’s doing, and then fallback plans when those are foiled. Even though we have deep pockets, the competition will be so high there’s likely to be a quick frenzy to start the free agency period off. Other than money, is Miami a destination where players feel like they can win? We have a bright new Head Coach in Mike McDaniel, but he’s a first time Head Coach, so is winning immediately realistic? Of course we have nice climate, especially during the colder months of the season and we also have no state income tax which makes the money go even further. I look forward to seeing what Grier and the Dolphins do when the communications between NFL teams and players (agents) begin on Monday March 14th. I have a feeling the bottom line of the NFL channel feed will be ringing like a pinball machine. Hopefully we’re doing some of the ringing!

GO DOLPHINS!!!!

Wow, up to 10 mil for a backup QB.
I guess he only meets the incentives if he’s playing a lot though. And if he’s playing a lot then it’s better to have him than a guy like Brissett, so it’s worth the extra incentive.
Bridgewater has been a starter and had winning seasons and played in the playoffs. He’s better than Matt Moore and Jacoby Brissett. If Tua ever went down, our defense is good, the OL is playing better and we have good skill players, we could still win with Bridgewater.
Who is a better backup QB than him?
I didn’t see it coming but this was a really good signing. He’s known to be a great locker room guy and everyone loves him. He also overcame a freak leg injury a few years ago where amputation was a possibility. He’s still in the NFL as a backup QB. What?!!!!
I think he’ll be great for Tua and the culture of the team that already has some good vibe.
Yep, I was happy when it was announced too. I think he could compete to start on a few teams.
I didn’t see the news today
Did we resign Ogbah and sign bridgewater?
Yes. And signed Chase Edmonds
And Cedric Wilson
Anyone here get the Cedric Wilson signing?
He’s the kind of YAC WR we lacked, go back a page…or I’ll bring it forward
YAC like Steve said and separation are a quick release QBs best friend.
“Among wide receivers last season, Wilson created the 17th-most average yards of separation per catch (3.49 yards) and the 14th-most average yards after the catch (5.8 yards).”
Wilson, whose father played for the 49ers from 2001-04 and for the Steelers from 2005-07, is a speedy wide receiver with after-the-catch ability.
He averaged 5.6 yards after the catch in 2021, a figure that tied for 14th among NFL wide receivers. As a point of comparison, Jaylen Waddle led all Dolphins wide receivers last year with a 4.2 YAC average.
Maybe he is the guy to take some heat off of Waddle or make plays himself to take pressure off
Thanks Steve
The signings on O were done to move the chains, Wilson and Edmonds are both good YAC receivers
Edmonds is a good zone rb
More options for Tua to move the chains
I expect Duke to be signed soon
Retained the guys we had to in Gesicki and Ogbah, added some weapons…
At least an OT next, Collins?
Bridgewater is good Tua injury insurance
Got an ST ace
Solid day
Surprised O-line hasn’t yet been addressed
There is a lot of big money being thrown out on the OL thus far. Maybe they are going after Collins
At least that’s what we all seem to be hoping
Waddle, Wilson, Parker, Bowden and Hurns
We can work with that, if they stay healthy
Just replace one of them with Gesicki and yeah. 😉
I still think we’ll draft a RB and WR.
Part of a now frustrate Cowboy writer’s plea to re-sign Cedric Wilson. And all on 61 targets. Waddle had 140 and Gesicki 112.
“If he showed promise with only 61 targets, imagine the potential this young receiver has. As a fourth receiver, he ended this season with career-high stats across the board: 45 catches for 602 yards, 6 touchdowns, 36 yards in punt returns, and went 3-for-3 passing on gadget plays. “
Wilson and Bowden can both throw, so look for lots of wrinkles
Where’s the beef?
Exactly?
We need OL. Who’s left at this point?
In the patience market
Still need ILB, could always re-sign Roberts and bring one along from draft
Unless someone like Jameson Williams is there, expect we may look elsewhere at 29 and take one later
The Dolphins in FA with the OL. 😉
Some teams have longer spears than others?
Yeah and some teams wish they had our secondary. Our front 7 guys can do what they do because of that. Not every team can do that.
We need the offense to get up to speed.
Just want to throw this out there. If we’re trying to be contender right now and I don’t see any reason why not to, what’s to stop us from making trades in FA and in the draft? We have three 1st round picks the next 2 years. We can make moves for players we covet.
Should we keep those picks just in case things don’t work out vs. trying to win now? Based on our signings in FA it’s not about 2-3 years from now. We’re in 1-2 years go for it mode. You can see it.
What do we always say about players in their 3rd season, that’s the year they earn their keep. We have a few of them. Tua is one of them. Time to roll.
I’ll say this about the ILB position. If we can’t make the playoffs because of that we’re failing in a lot of other areas.
Our defense last year could win a championship. Our offense could not. Our STs were solid. It’s like relief pitchers in baseball, year to year.
Been looking at TE. Yeah we know Gesicki signed his franchise tag and is more receiver. Smythe is a well rounded TE but not special. Shaheen is solid but not special either and would not cost anything to move on from. Cethan Carter has made little impact since we signed him as more of a H-back/TE/FB/ST.
I could us re-signing Smythe, releasing both Shaheen and Carter, promoting Hunter Long and signing a FB.
Seems logical
I’d keep Shaheen and cut Cethan though, as he has some mismatch qualities, that can exploit a D
As we all agree on we need OL, there’s no way something isn’t in the works for either Collins or some other lineman
Phinsiders believe teams aren’t offering more than a 7th for him
Just give up 5th or 6th and be done with it, that would give us a nice blindside
If we had Bridgewater last year we’d have been in the playoffs
Seems people are under estimating this signing
Also under estimating Wilson and Edmonds, because we now have 5 quality third down options at any time and a few, that aren’t too bad with YAC
This so true about Bridgewater. Plus these new guys are just what Tua needs to stay on the field more drives.
Some of these articles on what OL we should bring in are really bad, they don’t fit the player with the scheme or the need, just look at who us available and say this guy
I like to think the moves made so far will be beneficial, but it has that thrift feel to it, just like last year, when we really didn’t have much success
We didn’t have money last year, so I can’t say it was really that bad, but not really much contribution from them
I suppose Gesicki and Ogbah are a part of FA, mainly talking about additions though, something to help make us better
Ogbah seems to love all things about the Phins. And another example of how the last thing you will ever hear is him to refer to himselg in the third person.
No brainer to me, that if there’s no real issues, you stay where you are
Let’s say he goes to Buffalo and he has competition, Russo plays the right side, and starts losing PT, then after 2 years when the guaranteed money is gone they let him go, because Russo is now the man…
Isn’t it better to just stay where you are, with a better chance to play out the contract?
Could be other factors, such as playing for a championship or closer to home, but barring them, just stay where you know you fit
Would be how I would handle it too given the money involved, but then I once moved to get a better job.
And Ogbah didn’t just say this afterwards. He said it before to the Phins who reported he really wanted to stay here, which his agent could have said something different about but never did. Even if he took some calls sounds like real easy negotiations.
“The move to re-sign Ogbah earned a B+ from both outlets; picking up Edmonds got a B+ from SI and a B- from ESPN.”
Naples – Confession here . . . I liked your sunset (or sunrise) avi much better. Despite the fact that Brady is on the ground, it’s still Brady. The palm tree and sun was a very chill scene
Everyone is. Talked to a trucker rep and he said the entire 80,000-person trucker shortage was basically caused by drugs and alcohol use. Says there are over 80,000 truckers who lost their license in the past 5 years over substance abuse and not one has been able to get his license reinstated. When drugs are more valued than a 6-figure job.
Wrong place
Pffft
I want to see some more of our own get brought back sooner than later. Smythe, Duke, Hollins, Lindsay, Ford etc…
^
Lindsay might have been replaced by Edmonds, though I could see a role for him
Ford I’d rather not sign, as he seems to be there for the taking, once injuries hit, so I’d rather he just be on speed dial
Adam Schefter
@AdamSchefter
Linebacker Duke Riley is signing back with the Dolphins on a one-year, $3 million contract, per his agents
@DrewJRosenhaus
and
@NFLrecord
.
Now go get the other Duke
There’s one ILB
Daniel Oyefusi
@DanielOyefusi
The Dolphins enter Day 2 of the legal negotiating window w/ a little under $27 mil in cap space, per Over the Cap (Keion Crossen’s deal hasn’t been accounted for). Some notable OL still available:
— OT Terron Armstead
— OT Eric Fisher
— OT Trent Brown
— G/C Bradley Bozeman
Now down to 8th most cap and 11 teams still have $20 mil plus. Signed what seem to be good players, but no longer the ballers we used to be. Especially since Ogbah’s first year was for much less than his annual average.
We’ve spent a lot of money though already and filled several needs
We still have plenty of money left for OL, and ILB
Not sure what they plan to do with what’s left
My guess is here is the big reason Riley got $3 mil for one year rather than the one-year $1.1 he signed for last offseason. 15 important snaps, but hey they get to see him at practice too.
“With the Dolphins group of linebackers not being the best in coverage, Riley shined in that area, as Pro Football Focus had him giving up a team-low 67.6 passer rating against (six completions on 11 targets for 53 yards) at the position.”
Could be a one year deal as ILB could be a target in the draft.
Good find
Details on Edmunds contract from Dolphins’ Wire. Low cap hit this year. Not included in the total number we heard before is the $340k per game roster bonus that kicks in next season.
That means he will get over $10 mil if he played all 16 games for us in 2023. It is not guaranteed though. So could cut him and take the $2 mil hit in prorated bonus instead.
————————————————-
“Edmonds’ deal with the Dolphins is expected to be for $12.6 million over two seasons, with $6.1 million guaranteed and $4.1 million in the form of a signing bonus.
This means that, in 2022, Edmonds will receive $2 million in base salary, which is all guaranteed, and $2.05 million for a bonus, bringing his cap hit to $4.05 million. Then, in 2023, his salary jumps to $5.66 million, but none of it is guaranteed. He also has a $340,000 per game roster bonus in 2023, but if the Dolphins wanted to move on from Edmonds after the first season, they would just have the $2.05 million in dead money.
Edmonds also has $500,000 available in bonuses from the Pro Bowl.”
Good Contract
One of my favorite comics. Miss both it and Far Side.
Let’s get some OL today damn it
MikeE, Lions to sign WR D.J. Chark to one-year, $10M deal.
Nice to read some positive news for Fins. I like what y’all are saying about a trade for Collins. Mid round picks who “might” impact the roster vs a guy who can start (?)… no brainer at this point.
MikeE,
A’s used to lose players to Yankees, but it seems the Mets and Billy have a gentlemen’s agreement on trades. LOL. Watching A’s gut another team is just so damn painful. Bassitt has 2 years in him for sure, Cahna just needs his ABs and he’s productive … but signing Martes was brilliant. I never missed a Martes AB in his time in Oakland. Closest thing to Rickey Henderson I’ve ever seen.
Anybody else out there having a hard time hiring new staff? We are now into double digits for the number of new hires (under 30 yrs old), after the interview process, paperwork, etc… 6 of the 10 never showed for the first day, and didn’t bother even calling us. smh. The other 4 quit within a week (just ‘ghosted’ only to find out from a current staff member that “it was too much work”).
These are high school grads with an 8 month certification course in mid 20’s who would start at $40k plus 100% med, dental, vision (PPO). WTF? Prior to this, we have never had a single instance of something like this happening. One person said she quit because we were so busy she didn’t have time for her phone. lol. Venting is over. Any ideas would be appreciated. lol
Last year we had 2 lawyers who accepted offers back out before their start date
Put in a ping pong table. Just kidding of course but first place to check is whether your salaries are competitive for similar positions. My guess is the ones don’t show up cause they applied for multiple jobs and were accepted to ones they liked better after.
The lack of even a phone call ain’t cool at all. But guess they do the same to people they have been dating now. Kids these days.
For those positions, the pay is 75% higher than anywhere within 200 miles AND no other pediatric clinics in the area even offer health insurance. Maybe it’s “too much work” regardless of the pay.
Maybe it is just a new mindset. When you spend two months in a hospital you get to talk to the nurses a lot. Was asked what I do/did and explained in the convo that used to work 55 hours a week and travel a lot, but was able to retire early. Her immediate response was “OMG I couldn’t imagine working that hard” like I was an idiot.
Kids these days.
————-
Says it all about the majority. I think you just have to keep plugging away until those diamonds in the rough come along. My clerk who works 40 hours with me on the weekend from Friday night to Sunday evening also works another job 40 hours Monday through Friday from home online. She is 24 and a workaholic. On top of that, she is going to school to be a forensic scientist along with working 80 hours a week. On top of that, she is a single mother of 2. She does have a good family support system though. Hate that I am going to lose her in another year when she finishes school.
I wish I had the answer. I was managing a crisis clinic and we could find staff but not nurses. Pay was competitive but our clients could get physical (nurses just applied medication, didn’t have to hold client). Couldn’t find anyone and I was mainly covering 5 days a week. I left this February for another field of work.
That’s what I find myself doing … a lot of “other” jobs besides what I need to do. lol.
They still ask you to do your job too. “Why isn’t the unit full?” Maybe because I don’t have staff. “I don’t like excuses” Ok, bye.
I still don’t like the Chase Edmonds and Bridgewater signings, but I’m glad the contracts are palatable. All of the contracts we’ve done this offseason have been structured well. I just can’t bring myself to root for Teddy Bridgewater.
Now let’s get some o-line. It’s by far the biggest weakness on the team.
I see a similarity in both the Edmonds and Cedric Wilson signings. Young guys on the rise, fit the Niners’ scheme, seemingly untapped potential, can catch (guess that more Edmonds as a RB), and who get open and run for YAC. Bowden, who has been working a lot with Tua, fits the mold as well. It’s a West Coast O after all.
Guess when you do tit, you should expect tat.

On Monday, Russian President Vladimir Putin signed a law that will allow Russian airlines to take control of hundreds of the Western-built planes leased from international firms…. $10 billion worth of planes is stranded in Russia.
I’m going to be honest. I don’t see a difference between C. Wilson Jr. and Isaiah Ford. Not enough to warrant the contract difference.
More upside with Wilson
His numbers were real impressive in limited snaps (61) last year. See my post at @9:49 PM yesterday if you didn’t catch.
^ 61 “targets”
In early trading today a barrel of oil tumbled another 6%. Leaving a barrel of U.S. crude at $95. It was $130 at the start of last week.
Good news as far as gas prices if that keeps up.
We can agree on this. 😉
lol… but please notice I didn’t give Biden one iota of credit for that. 🙂
Lol, I did, and I thank you.
Unless price gouging is happening and the ordinary rules of the free market circumvented
Exxon, BP, Chevron and Shell have all been reporting record profits all year and last year
I don’t consider a market where a conglomerate dictates pricing to be a true free market. It’s one reason I’m a huge proponent of governmental aid to induce national supply increases. The game is already rigged, why punish your citizens when you have some the highest possible levels of oil on the planet?
US already has laws on the books against price-fixing. Just use them if appropriate.
New Age – aren’t you helping them rig it if you do that?
Stanger – I know we have laws. We have plenty of laws that aren’t enforced. Oil companies are one of America’s largest lobbying groups, I doubt anyone is Washington is ready to consider being aggressive and breaking up monopolies or taking that fight on and it would leave American companies at a serious disadvantage if they did
In the international market price fixing is openly done. OPEC sets the price for barrel among the OPEC members. They make public announcements Bout what would be illegal for American companies to do here.
How can US companies compete with foreign companies without following the same model?
So that’s a heck of a fight for American lawmakers and enforcers to take on. It’s not just a powerful industry that makes countless political contributions – it’s hurting an industry that has to compete with a foreign market that doesn’t play by the same rules.
Given the manipulation of the market by OPEC and others, think the US oil industry is just along for the ride. And think it the way it should be. If the Saudis don’t pump and the oil price goes well beyond US production costs…. why shouldn’t US companies profit from that?
And the higher prices spur US production. Plus OPEC just sorta adds fuel to the fire to an increase or reduction in prices these days. Can’t keep it up in the long term unless want to hurt their own economies. Thanks to fracking and more, not the 1970’s for the US anymore.
Rhino, My brother-in-law is in Texas now and looking for a job. He is a drug addict though and just got out of Bexar County Jail after spending 4 months in there for meth possession and theft. He is still on probation out of Florida for vehicle theft though. Not sure if that is disqualifying for you or not. He also overdosed 2 days after he got out of jail 10 days ago and spent 2 days in the hospital. He has spent numerous days in the hospital for 6 overdoses (maybe more) and another 9 days in the hospital for going septic for an infection where he had been shooting up. So, he does have experience in the healthcare arena. He says he has been sober for the last week. He is living in a halfway house and no longer on the streets of San Antonio. So he says.
Let me know if you want him to apply!
Forgot to mention he also has an active warrant for Violation of Probation on a misdemeanor out of Memphis, TN. No worries though as Shelby County (Memphis) does not want to extradite.
Rams to release former All-Pro punter Johnny Hekker
Dolphins are re-signing WR Preston Williams
The wideout, who was a restricted free agent set to hit the market at the start of the new league year, can make up to $1.99 million next year.
That’s real cheap, but may not be good news for Parker unless he wants a trade. Can only keep so many wideouts on the roster.
Really starting to wonder now if Parker could be part of a trade to Dallas for Collins.
Especially if Dallas cuts/trades Cooper.
And duke Riley as well. He’s coming back
Cooper is already being traded to Cleveland affective start of new league year tomorrow.
Ugh
I like the bridgewater signing.
Wow this is nuts
“The Aaron Rodgers Contract Has A New-Money Average Of $61.7 Million Per Year”
Not that we care. Browns to meet with Texans QB Deshaun Watson on Tuesday.
Rhino – we’re having a very tough time hiring here in NJ
The Dolphins agreed to terms with guard Connor Williams, who has started 10, 11, 16 and 14 games for the Cowboys the past three seasons. That will upgrade the interior of Miami’s offensive line.
I guess Collins should be next 🙂
Solid signing
“PFN thinks guard Connor Williams is the No. 40 ranked free agent; the Cowboys did not think of him that highly, and now the DFW native and former Texas Longhorns standout is departing Dallas for a two-year, $14 million deal with the Miami Dolphins.”
At a minimum the Connor Williams signing adds depth
But don’t overlook his potential
He’s a 24 year old former 2nd round pick who had the benefit of being drafted by a team that already had other talent on the OL and spent time developing him
So it can be a very good signing
He is an instant starter imo
Yep at that price. Means
Hunt starts at T,
Jackson starts at T
Jackson sits. or
Jackson is traded.
Hunt should stay at G.
Rhino, Mike and Ken
My understanding is that finding new staff is a problem all over the country
We have not had to hire new support staff in recent years but we have had to replace 2 lawyers who retired last year and iit was a challenge
ESPN’s Anthony Treash (who was right on about the money per year) about Connor Williams:
—————
“Yes, I know the penalties are an issue, as Williams committed an NFL-leading 17 penalties in 2021 and was benched for a short stretch during the season. Even with all of those plays baked into the PFF grading system, Williams still finished as a top-10-graded guard for the 2021 season (75.2) and has been one of the NFL’s 15 most valuable guards in back-to-back seasons. The penalties should regress in 2022, as they weren’t an issue before. He’s not going to be one of the five highest-paid guards in free agency and probably will receive something akin to a three-year, $20 million deal. However, the scheme doesn’t matter — if a team needs a guard, it should pursue Williams over the much pricier options.”
Did he get dreadlocks extensions?
That’s not him.
I don’t understand why the Connor Williams signing means Hunt will move to OT. Williams is a LG. Looks we are closer to targeting a center in the draft.
Williams, Hunt, Jackson — only two can play G. And doesn’t mean Hunt will move to T, only that both he and Jackson could.
Jackson either moves back to OT or rides the pine
M13, good call on Connor Williams! You turned us on to him months ago.
Yeah, posted that Sunday! Dude bought it Saturday at an auction the day before Brady announced his return.
It actually sold for 518K. Don’t know where they got 428K.
Hey Mike e my pffft was for Stanger saying we got a B grade.
Ha, no worries! I didn’t think it was meant for me. Love that avi!
Another key member of the Browns’ turnaround is headed to free agency.
Cleveland has released center JC Tretter, the team announced Tuesday.
Tretter moved from Green Bay to Cleveland in 2017 and didn’t miss a single regular-season game in his five seasons with the team, filling a much-needed role as a reliable center in a remade offensive line. His leadership stood out within the Browns, as they transformed from the NFL’s worst team in 2017 to a contender, finally reaching the postseason and winning the franchise’s first playoff game since the 1994 season in the 2020 campaign.
That same leadership resonated with players across the NFL. Tretter was elected NFL Players Association president in 2020 and played a key role in guiding the NFLPA through the uncertainty of the COVID-19 pandemic in the last two years, earning a second term earlier this month.
why did they release him? Salary cap?
So
Why no support for Teddy? I don’t know anything bad about him.
SB7MVP
I hope signing connor doesn’t mean we’re done with the o line. I think we’re still gonna sign a tackle. Jackson might be odd man out if we do that.
Yeah many Americans do not follow the news (or get it from biased/incomplete sources).

“59 percent: That’s the portion of U.S adults who say they back a no-fly zone over Ukraine in the new CBS News/YouGov poll.
38 percent: The portion who back a no-fly zone if told it may lead to confrontations with Russian aircraft and be viewed as an act of war by the global superpower.”
That 38% is really ignorant.
Think the 38% just wrong. The 21% who didn’t know what a no fly zone in Ukraine entailed and changed their minds when told…. that’s at least unaware.

I think we could find similar production from a cheaper option. I don’t see $3 mill in value from him.

New #Dolphins wide receiver Cedrick Wilson lined up in the slot more than any other WR in 2021 (90.5%)
Jaylen Waddle (60.1%) ranked 33rd
It’s good to get waddle further out in space. I don’t want to wear him down fast. He can take it to the house if he catches it in the open field. Let Cedrick catch in traffic and take the beating.
Bowden will also be catching some short
Can see Waddle only catching about 80 balls next year, but having more yards
Interesting, could he be slated for LT?

Interesting development to keep your eye on. Connor Williams played his whole college career at LT. Something to keep your eye on for the next couple signings.

Brilliant – LMAO
A football legend talking to …………….. an old QB who can’t make his mind up when to retire! 🤣🤣
🤣
For O Rob if he still lurks out there
Would be more impressive, if he showed a 60 yard pass to see how far he can throw
🤣LOL

Dolphins Breaking News 🐬🚨
We have acquired Amari Cooper from the Dallas Cowboys 🤝‼️
Coopers statement: I appreciate Miami for giving me a shot and seeing them make a push to acquire Trevor Lawrence, I definitely wanted to be here 😎
? I thought he went to the browns
Fake news
Any of his fans still on the board?
I think Mf13 really liked him.
He is good

So
Why no support for Teddy? I don’t know anything bad about him.
____
I just don’t like him. 0 personality. 0 excitement. He doesn’t seem like he loves football and he’s just rolling around the league collecting paychecks as an insurance policy.
Personality, excitement? What, you wanted them to bring back Fitz? 😉
Wouldn’t hurt. lol. Heck, dig up Earl Morrall.
Myles Jack is a good ILB but not good in coverage, 78.3 completion % against him last year.
It’s odd that the stats are that bad – bc when he came out of UCLA he was supposed to be a great coverage LB and a hybrid between safety and LB
I don’t think resigning Roberts is “meh”. He gave us solid production.
“Roberts, 27, has spent the last two seasons with Miami, recording 144 tackles, six quarterback hits, four passes defended, three forced fumbles, 2.5 sacks and one interception.”
That one interception went for an 82 yard TD.
And the ugliest play you’ll ever see from all involved
He strikes me as limited. He is pretty slow and cover in the passing game
3.5 sacks FU NFL for calling his game 1 sack roughing the passer
Steve, yeah that was a BS call.
Ken, Roberts brings a physical presence to the LB position. He’s a big hitter. I’m surprised how meh people are about him. He’s also a leader in the locker room and he plays STs.
Bills to sign J.D. McKissic: Former Washington weapon agrees to two-year, $7 million deal, per report
———————-
He’s a solid RB and receiving threat. Hate he went to Bills.
So we signed a G in Williams and brought back two of our LBs in Roberts and Riley on pretty cheap contracts. That gives us some depth. I expect us to draft a LB at some point too.
We have to remember that none of these deals are a done deal yet.
“After initial reports indicated Randy Gregory would return to the Cowboys, he has instead decided to sign with the BRONCOS”
Players can still get a better offer in the next 26 hours.
And that is why they have the legal tampering period
Old way would be like a Black Friday mob at Walmart
Also gives players a chance to see what they can get, before re-signing with current team
Yeah but it doesn’t happen that often.
Believe Collins is at least going to be given a shot at OT
Not sure where to go at 29, so BPA WR, RB, ILB
Collins? Did we land La’el Collins?
Conner Williams not Collins
Oh okay.
Ken, I can see Roberts coverage is lacking. Though, last season he allowed 13 rec out of 21 targets at 61.9% which is good. Year before that he was a total liability allowing over 91%.
That year to year change can be true for all coverage guys, too many factors that have nothing to do with them
I just think we can upgrade from him. I don’t view his as the complete package at LB
Lions Re-Signing DE Charles Harris To Two-Year, $14M Deal
So Preston Williams gets another shot. He has talent but he’s had season ending injuries in both of his seasons. Maybe he can finally get his career on track.
I thought he was a disciplinary scratch late in the season
https://www.miamiherald.com/sports/nfl/miami-dolphins/article255259771.html
Try this one:
I just realized he’s been with us for 3 seasons. His injuries were in 2019 and 2020. He was a COVID scratch last week of the season but was also inactive for a few games late in the year so maybe you’re right.
Flores was involved in the discipline, so it means nothing to me

M13, good call on Connor Williams! You turned us on to him months ago.
—————
Thanks, Bro! But I admittedly slowed my roll for him after discovering he was a penalty machine in 2021. Hopefully, we can coach him out of it.
Outside of the penalties which is not good, he graded out well.
Hence my interest in him. He’s young (24), he’s got a solid track record, and hopefully his 2021 penalties were just a bump in the road.

Yessir! He was on my ‘man-crush’ list. He hasn’t panned out as well as I thought he would, but he’s a solid ILB. Thought he’d be a beast in coverage, but he clearly is not.
Allow me to rephrase… a solid MLB.
You serious, Clark?
Yup, yup! I LOVE it!
Awesome!!!
Starting in 2023.
So we have to do it one more year? WTF!!! Why?!!!! LOL
That’s what I was thinking Tim!
Please let this be true
And if so, the House better not f^ck it up…

Rubio was my guy in 2016. Maybe he can be again.
Ken, you’re right on Preston Williams. I think that’s why my time line on him was off. He barely played last year. I think it started with not being healthy early on, then the disciplinary reasons then COVID.
Yep. Not excited about keeping him on the roster
He still has to make the team. New offensive staff, no guarantee.
Did anyone else notice that the supposed Terron Armstead pic of him in Miami, says “Hertz Boston “ in it? 🤔
The #Dolphins have now made five deals with
@DrewJRosenhaus
clients:
Emmanuel Ogbah: 4-years, $65M
Chase Edmonds: 2-years, $12.6M
Connor Williams: 2-years, $14M
Elandon Roberts: 1-year, $3.25M
Duke Riley: 1-year, $3M
Miami connection has always been strong.
Good to have this connection with Drew
^
Apparently the bill passed in the Senate with unanimous consent, conservatives and liberals finding something on which to whole-heartedly agree.
This bill heralds the dawning of a brand new day and will be the clarion call ushering in a new era of collaboration between the parties, prosperity, and peace for all in a brand new America.
Why did we ever do it if everyone agrees it’s bullshit?
😂
Still has to get approved by the House and signed by Biden. But that is almost a given if no one in the Senate objected (or at least did not do so enough to put him name out as the one blocking it).
Bobby Wagner or Miles Jack?
Wagner easily
Jack is close to bust.
Wagner by a mile.
The Falcons are now in on the Deshaun Watson sweepstakes.

Time to cook that pork chop.
The avi is a sunset, which is weird but I live on the west coast of florida
For Mike e
I like it Naples. Pretty pic
They’ve been giving him praise since the combine, if a guy like that is available I’d take him at 29
I’m really high on him
Why not leave the time standard instead of going to daylight?
Daylight saving was initially started (at least in some part) to provide more daylight to drill/process oil. Little known fact.
I think it was started to give the farmers more time to tend to their fields. I think the oil part came later.
You’re likely correct, Brian.
I always thought it was for the golfers to be able to play later. The golfing lobby is huge in FL.
And I was told at one point it was so kids in Northern states wouldn’t be walking to school/ bus stops in the dark. Maybe a multitude of reasons.
————-
Could they be creating space to re-sign Armstead? Or are they creating space to bring in Watson?
Wonderful!
Awwww
So we’re basically keeping the defense in tact both with some coaches and personnel. I like that. We all know the offense needed new blood and a new direction and that’s happening so things are looking good. 🙂
I still see a huge need for deep speed at WR on the Dolphins. And a power back like Kenny walker or zamir white. That would be my one two draft picks.
Waddle does have deep speed we just didn’t ask him to do it very much last year which was kind of bizarre. As for a power back, I’m not sure that’s what we’re looking for. I guess it depends on what you mean. RBs who run with power or big backs?
I do think we’ll draft a WR and RB though.
I agree with you. I just meant I don’t think we’re finished at RB with just Edmonds. We still need a bowling ball.
There have been reports that we’re still interested in bringing back Duke.
Just a hunch on our O-Line right now during FA: I think we’re waiting for La’el Collins to be released in order to sign him on our terms. A deal should have been done by now if we were trading for him.
I’m expecting us to land La’el at this point.
Good thinking…I hope you’re right.
Thank you… me too!
And I think we should back up the Brinks truck for Bobby Wagner. After we acquire La’el and Bobby, re-sign a few of our others (Mack Hollins!), and get ready for the Draft.
Agreed. I think all teams interested in him are waiting for his release so they don’t have to give up a draft pick. But if he is released he can be claimed and that team has to pick up the contract too. But a restructure is always possible.
Just about our entire starting defense is returning this season. Not sure if Scarlett was a starter or not.
He might have started a game or two but he was more of a role player. But yeah the defense is mostly intact. I just posted about that a little up the board. 😉
Yeah, I would not be surprised to see 2 or 3 more of the crew brought back.
NEED MORE!
Our current WR room:
DeVante Parker, Allen Hurns, Lynn Bowden Jr., Waddle, DeVonte Dedmon, River Cracraft and Cody Core.
You left out Cedrick Wilson Jr. who we signed from Dallas. We also re-signed Preston Williams.
That’s five solid. I doubt we keep 6 active in this run-heavy offense and with a fullback unless he is a special teams ace like Hollins.
Add Cedric Wilson and Preston Williams
Tim be fast
I guess the chiefs are interested in signing landry
That would be a good fit for him. He doesn’t have to be the guy, just another option.
