So many moves have been made, and in general, the prevailing thought at this time is that the Dolphins are in a good place. We’ve left behind the ugliness of the split between the Miami Dolphins and former Head Coach Brian Flores and the accusations levied against owner Stephen Ross. I feel like all that ugliness has been left behind, and the negative slant that was hanging on the Dolphins organization has craftily been removed and replaced by a hefty dose of optimism. 3 months and change have passed since Brian Flores was let go and to me it’s startling how much this Dolphins front office has done to change the entire appearance of our team, and organization as well. I feel a sense that the Dolphins are in good hands, both with GM Chris Grier and his Head Coach Mike McDaniel. Sure, they used a fair amount of media clips to pump up new HC Mike McDaniel and his crucial impending relationship with QB Tua Tagovailoa. They seem to have finally committed to the young QB who has always deserved that from the get-go yet for some reason the Dolphins brass chose not to. I believe that the new tact will enable Tua to be better at his job, of course in addition to all the new faces who will now be wearing aqua, white and orange. The entire dynamic of the team has changed, and will likely continue to change until the season begins. As my last article said, they’re all in, and there will be additional pieces, possibly importance pieces that will be added to give this team what it needs to compete with the likes of many improved AFC teams such as the Bills, Raiders, Broncos, Colts and others.
Looking at the roster now, it seems so much more complete, the gaping holes are now gone. I still believe they’re not finished with the O-line and help may come still from free agency or via the draft, or even after June 1st cuts. The good thing is we aren’t desperate now at any position on the line. We have our LT and LG and probably our RG, and possibly our center too in 4th year C Michael Deiter. We’ve all discussed C prospect Tyler Linderbaum who is the top C prospect in the ’22 NFL Draft. I think the key issue is does the FO see Linderbaum as an immediate upgrade to our current C? If not, we may look elsewhere for a C or just stay with Deiter. Keep in perspective the O-line is a unit, and when everyone else around you is better, you’re better too.
As of now, the Dolphins first draft pick will be late RD 3, pick #102. That pick can still net a starter, or we may choose to use either a player or players, or future and current draft capital to move up to acquire a special player. The latter would not surprise me considering we’re now operating in a window of time where we have in order to be competitive. That window can always change, but right now it looks to be a 2 year window, which in turn would lead me to believe we’re looking for players to make an impact now, not 3 years from now. While some of us think C is the big issue, Naples wisely pointed out our depth at DE is thin. We re-signed Emmanuel Ogbah which was critical, but there’s really no one behind him at this time. Zach Seiler was a great pickup but he plays on the other side. Daeshon Hall who has played a total of 75 snaps at DE in 3 seasons is what we got. I think Naples has an excellent point that if Ogbah goes down, we’re in trouble. I love CB Nik Needham, but I’m not sure I’d want Needham to be starting if either X or Jones went down. We do have reclamation project #9 in Noah Igbinoghene as well, but he hasn’t given any indication he’s ready for prime time yet either. Do we finally draft a RB? It’s been a while since we invested early on a ballcarrier, Kalen Ballage was a 4th RD pick in ’18, (#131). We took newly acquired RB Chase Edmonds’ RB mate in ARZ Kenyan Drake in RD 3 (#76) in 2016. There’s no immediate need for a RB unless they wanted a bigger back, and don’t feel that last year’s 7th RD pick Gerrid Doaks is the answer. We have a lot of lightning in our RB stable but no thunder.
The new look Miami offense is no doubt more impressive than what it was a month ago. The O-line has been addressed and now we have one of the most dynamic WR’s in the sport. Tyreek does it all, and don’t for a moment underestimate his potential as a return man on special teams. He will be getting lots of touches in this offense, some behind the LOS or at the LOS and hopefully a bunch downfield as well. No matter what though, Hill is a player that requires the other teams full attention, he must be accounted for each and every play. Having a player like that makes things easier for guys like Jaylen Waddle, who received plenty of attention last season, and rightfully so. Add in Cedrick Wilson and a few of the guys in the backfield who will be used as receivers out of the backfield or on the LOS such as Chase Edmonds, Raheem Mostert and Myles Gaskin. I just can’t help thinking this will not be the stagnant, toothless offense we watched all too many times last season. Hey! We actually added a FB too! FB Alec Ingold will bring some physicality to the offense as well.
On the defensive side of the ball we did all we could to bring it all back intact, and succeeded. We will have all our starters and many of the same depth players as well throughout the defense. This was a good defense, maybe even just below a great defense that unfortunately had to carry the team on many occasions. A better offensive output this season I believe will lead to better things out of our defense. If the offense can run more plays and put a lot more points on the board weekly, our defense will have the advantage of the opposing offense being on their heels a bit trying to keep up. That usually allows for a more aggressive defense, and we’re a pretty aggressive unit anyway. We should also continue to see growth for 2 budding stars in DE/OLB Jaelan Phillips and S Jevon Holland. Safety Brandon Jones is another. DE Christian Wilkins made the leap to a high level last season. No Dolphins defender had as well rounded a season as Wilkins, contributing 89 combined tackles, 4.5 sacks, 13 QB hits, leading the team with 10 TFL, 1 FF and 1 FR. That’s NFL elite right there. #55, Jerome Baker had another great season leading the team with 92 tackles. Unfortunately, Bobby Wagner who had nearly twice that many tackles and would have looked great in aqua and orange is headed to the LA Rams and another chance at a SB berth in the NFC. I don’t honestly know if we were interested in Wagner, but I was!
I guess if you want to look for a glaring hole, look no further than P, because we don’t have one. Last year’s punter Michael Palardy was here on a 1 year deal so we’ll be looking. Some here have already fallen in love with P prospect Matt Araiza, the highest rated special teamer in the draft at 6.09. I can only imagine young Stanger dreaming of his favorite new player! Penn St. Punter Jordan Stout is right behind Araiza at 5.99. It’s possible we use a pick on a P, or we may just fill that spot in FA. Palardy remains unsigned after an uneven year last year.

GO DOLPHINS!!!

Referring to a 46.5 yard punt average:

That’s not a good college avg, ball is smaller, and easier to kick
———————–
Eye roll. That’s not a fair assessment either. You have to account for UGA’s offense. They did not have to punt from deep in their own territory all that often. In 2020, 50% of Carmarda’s punts went for 50+ yards and 50% were inside the 20. In 2021, 18 of his 47 punts went for 50+ yards. Carmarda was punting in the southeast humidity most of his games.
The NFL’s leader in punting average in 2021, A.J. Cole (LV) only had a 42.2 career average at North Carolina State. Second best only averaged 43.4 in college. Third best, 18 year NFL vet Andy Lee was 3rd last year but only averaged 42.4 in college.
Stout averaged 46 yards but has the best hang time
Stonehouse’s career average is 47.8 but he had the advantage of kicking at altitude in Colorado for half or more of his games.
Araiza is a freak. A genetically modified cyborg with a bionic leg. If you want him you have to draft him early. If not, then you get one of the others in the 7th or an UDFA.
We are just throwing names out there. There are plenty of good ones this draft. Heck, they could draft one in the 7th or UDFA who we are not even talking about like Matt Turk’s nephew from Oklahoma, Michael Turk.
Page turn with a mic drop. lol
“It would’ve ranked 11th in the NFL last year”
——————
Hell, I’ll take that.
Smaller ball big difference
I was only commenting on what you put out there showing his avg doesn’t do it for me, the other stats you posted 50% over 50 and 50% touchback rate do, so I’ll agree he’s someone to draft
WTF is on his feet????????
Didn’t notice, couldn’t get past the pjs
Looks like $2 Beach sandals, doesn’t every bum in FL wear them😉
We got 2 top players, 1 of which is a WR, that wants to play with Tua, should say it all, so FU media
This is one thing that always sickens me. They do this with every president’s family, the Trump’s, Obama’s, Bush’s, etc.
“Secret Service is renting $30,000-a-month Malibu mansion to protect Hunter Biden, ABC News reports
Hunter Biden, President Biden’s remaining son, is living in a rented four-bedroom “resort-style” home in Malibu, California, and the nearest property his Secret Service detail could secure was a $30,000-a-month six-bedroom mansion with ocean views and a “castle-like tower to the master retreat with wet bar,” ABC News reports, citing the mansion’s listing and sources familiar with the matter.”

But you’d think they’d want that headache to go away, unless joe really needs the income he gets from Hunter

But he did reference Barry Jackson
It’s an old story, the original was out last week, I posted it here

I used to have really good football convo’s with Brian Miller back in the SS days and when he got going with his thing. He seems to have gotten “click bait” like in recent years. I don’t read them much anymore. I read their head line and know when to move on and not waste my time.
Tom Brady doesn’t appear ready to leave the game any time soon despite his age and if he wants to be in Miami, he will be in Miami. Stephen Ross loves him and wants him to be a part of the organization and the Dolphins just spent a lot of money to immediately improve the roster.
Tom Brady is not a narrative we should be discussing but this is only to serve as a reminder that in reality, we will be discussing Tom Brady and the Dolphins again in the future. The question is the role.
No the question is “Why do you keep publishing bullshit?” Tom wants to be in Miami so he will be??? Go blow yourself!
it serves as a reminder that you are a talentless hack that is desperate for clicks. That’s what it serves as a reminder of!

Dolphins report for OTAs and Tua Tagovailoa was not the first to arrive
WHO F’n CARES!!!??? OMG Tua wasn’t the first to arrive!!!
Is he supposed to be? F’n Tools!
You are cracking me up….stop it!
I saw an article the other day that was titled “Jimmy Page Humiliates Ozzy Publicly”. It was about Ozzy doing a new album and he wanted Eric Clapton, Jeff Beck and Jimmy Page to play on it. So I read the article and all it said was Jimmy Page declined. How the fuck did he humiliate Ozzy? But the title gets you to read it.
Lol

Weird trade
Yeah, weird. I heard they were going to draft a WR (most likely) in the 1st. Maybe they want a QB also. Can’t imagine giving up that future capital if it weren’t for someone specific.
Saints that is
That is weird. It barely even makes sense.
Saints be like, no you have too many 1st rd picks…
Eagles after the trade
That is kind of weird. I guess the Eagles didn’t want three 1st round picks in one draft so they push one down another year. It seems the Saints want two 1’s this year to start retooling with life after Brees and Payton.
Eagles must have some dumb reason for making the trade, because the picks they got total 1471, Saints get 1887
There is a lot of chatter regarding DK Metcalf being in the block. I really hope that he doesn’t go to the Jets.
That’s been rumored for awhile and NY talk show hosts bring it up often hoping that the Jets trade for him.
Those same hosts were talking about Hill a few weeks ago….lol
Yep and then once it didn’t happen lots of fans and some of those hosts changed their tune saying I didn’t want him anyway. Yeah right! LOL
Right- the fans said “I didn’t want him any way, we are building the team the right way”. Mmmmmm hmmmm
Then if they trade for Metcalf they’ll be dancing in the streets. LOL
Nik Needham has signed his restricted free agent tender.
So exactly which defensive players don’t want to play for Boyer and are aligned with Flores?
Shouldn’t be anyone we resigned or restructured because why would they? My guess has always been (if anyone) his guy he brought in from the Pats in Rowe. Who also saw less playing time last year because of Brandon Jones. Then again, Flores was here last year when he saw less playing time.
Right, so Omar and other local beat writers were just spewing negative BS to shit on anything we do. We didn’t lose anyone on defense and nobody has requested a trade.
It usually comes down to money. If they are paid what they deserve I’m sure they’re fine with Boyer.
I’m interested in why Boyer said the defense might look a little different because he looks at it from the back end first being a secondary coach so long. Then we hire Sam Madison and Pat Surtain as DB coaches. Someone in the article I read suggested we might see more man coverage and Cover 0.
We ran a ton of cover 0 last year.
Yeah but even more now. I don’t know. But Sam and Pat were excellent man corners. Is that a clue?
I Guess that they could, but they were one of the teams that used it the most last year. Not sure how much more they can use it.
Maybe just more press and man not necessarily Cover 0. We played a lot of Cover 3 with Holland as the deep safety too. Maybe he meant less zone. That’s why I’m interested. I still see us blitzing and stunting a lot.
This video really shows what Tua does well. His strengths to me are good feet, play-action fakes, pocket awareness, quick release and very accurate. Hits guys in stride. So he doesn’t have the strongest arm in the league. Would you take Tua or Cutler?
I’m so psyched with the team we have. If we start off 1-5 or something like that I think I might move to Iceland and live on a giant rock in the middle of the sea. LOL

Now you’re coming to your senses….lol
LOL
This is how I feel about it. We have to make the playoffs this year. We have to make a significant run by 2023. It’s not going to be the same team in a couple of years. Guys get older and slow down, FA and injuries. We have a good core to compete. It started today – players and coaches can meet and talk football.
The thing I like about retaining Boyer is not just because he was DC but he’s been here since 2019 and knows the players – strengths and weaknesses. The defense basically remains the same. This is his 4th season with the team so he’s been here since it was built. That’s important to me. Our defense should be top 10 this year. The offense should jump up from the bottom quite a bit.
The D makes top 10, if the O gives them some help
Yeah the offense being a different beast will change everything. It’s already a different beast on paper. A lot more explosiveness and two quality vets on the OL. Fins Up!!!!
Chill mood!
Not sure why many of y’all think the Eagles’ trade was weird. They’re doing almost exactly what we did last year, doubling down on 1st rounders in the future in case Jalen Hurts doesn’t work out for them.
Only difference is, we did it a year earlier than the Eagles. Both Hurts and Tua were drafted in ’20, and now both have until the end of THIS season (both 3 years in the league) to show and prove, lest they be replaced via the ’23 Draft.
Here’s the problem: the Eagles now have two 1st rounders next year — just like we do — and they now present us competition for drafting the best QB in the ’23 Draft should both Tua and Hurts fail.
This is BIG news, truly. The good news? I don’t either of Tua or Hurts failing this season.
*I don’t see either of Tua or Hurts failing this season.
Hurts sucks!
So there is that!
Bc it’s so far ahead of the draft
It’s a more palatable trade on the day of the draft or close to it
We also moved up significantly when we traded back up. There was a purpose to our trade beyond just moving picks to the following year. The Eagles trade seems to have no purpose other than moving picks to later.
But yeah, if they had done it on draft day, it probably wouldn’t seem as weird.
Pigster,
When we did it last year, it was March 26th.
Right we went from 3 to 23 to 5
The eagles went from 16 and 19 to 18 and a 2023 first
We got a lot from SF bc they wanted a QB
The eagles don’t know who will be there at 16
If some on trades to 16 and gives up multiple picks, they are gonna feel really dumb
Yeah but we were moving up M13
I guess the eagles now have a habit of trading down for more picks weeks before the draft
It’s an odd routine to me, the pick has more value on draft day
Now that I’ve thought it it, you’re right, it’s not really that weird, just the timing is.
And as Steve pointed out, the comp seems off if going by the chart.
Ok, I’m back to it’s weird, lol.
If you’re trading picks to the following year, the idea should be you are getting good comp to do so. The Eagles took a pretty significant loss to move picks to a later year.
Armstead is going to be really good for all the young OL, and the entire team. He’s a leader, smart and good at his game. His presence is a big deal.
M13, the media puts Tua under that microscope with the idea that it’s this year or done. What does that mean? If he doesn’t do what?
As I stated above, I don’t see Tua (or Hurts) failing this season. Fuck the media, Brother! 🙂

3 to 12 to 6, to be exact, but I hear ya.
Just remember, the Eagles have R1P15 and now R1P18 this year. They may feel dumb at the end of the day, but they just ‘announced’ that they are now competitors with us for the best QB in the ’23 Draft… I see their strategy, and it pisses me off, honestly! LOL
I feel like our picks happened organically, so it’s ok to kind of have that strategy of ‘we’ll keep these in case we think we need to rethink the QB position in 2023’.
But to seemingly force it, take a loss on your trade, and lose the chance to make the team better this year, just to have the ammo in case your QB fails, that seems like you’re betting on him failing. If that is what the Eagles are doing, I’d be concerned as an Eagles fan.
But honestly, I can’t think of another reason they would be making that trade other than the reason you’ve presented.
That’s how I see it, man. Maybe I’m completely wrong, but that’s how I see it.
Let them eat cake!
We already have our QB!
So they and the rest can “suck it”!!!!!!
Waddle was #6 last year. Pitts 4, Chase 5 and then Waddle at 6. That’s what we traded back up for. One of those 3.
Exactly
And it looks like all 3 of them are going to be stars, so it was a sound strategy.
I feel as though I’m being misinterpreted… like I’m dissing what we did last year… NO! I’m saying, we made sure we had two #1s in ’23… and now the Eagles have two #1s in ’23 as well.
That’s ALL I’m saying… they moved around and ensured they had two #1s in the ’23 Draft, JUST LIKE US. Hurts and Tua were BOTH drafted in ’20.
Ya but Hurts sux!
So there is that!
LOL @ Wyoming! 😆
I think most all of us would concur that this year’s QB crop is… underwhelming. But the ’23 QB crop? Much, much better.
It wasn’t just like us, because we had purpose with our moves and they made sense. It makes sense to move back when you gain two extra 1sts for it. And it makes sense to move back up to get the guy you want and still come out ahead on the original trade (remember they were two trades, but they were dependent on each other).
We had a net gain on those trades.
It doesn’t make sense to stay basically where you are, lose one of your 1sts and take a loss on the trade to get that 1st back next year.
That’s a net loss on those trades and it seems you’re banking on your QB failing.
That’s why it’s a weird trade, lol.
No we were talking about why we traded back up last year. But I don’t agree that this is Tua’s prove it or done season and that’s what the 2023 draft capital is for. What can’t he do, not make the AFC Championship game or Super Bowl this year? If we don’t make the playoffs was it because of him.
I don’t get the short leash with Tua. We’re giving him more leash and weapons for the first time since he’s been here this season. It’s now or never? He needs to play better overall but so does everyone. If Tua plays well but we are one and done in the playoffs, is it time to move on from him?
Alright, if you care to define “weird” like that, I can follow ya on that, seriously. But I see what they’re trying do! And no, they don’t have much faith in Hurts, the way I see it!
Cheers!
To ALL,
I have 100% FAITH that Tua is going to be a top-10 (if not better) QB this season. And he doesn’t need to have 50+ TDs or 4,500 passing yards to be that, either. He’s going to be fine, as far as I’m concerned.
I see a motivated and stronger Tua heading into 2022 after experiencing a nice 2nd half run. He knows he can play at this level. Now he has a lot of speed and play making ability to work with. It’s okay to expect Tua to be better just like other young players. He’s already good. Can he be even better? I think he can.
HELL YEAH! Yes, he can get even better is right. And when he does, look out!

————–
I wasn’t talking about that at all… I was talking about WHY the Eagles did what they did… and why they seeming took a loss on this trade: they don’t have faith in Jalen Hurts.
Just saying don’t take it personally because it’s not about you but the reality of the NFL. None of us know what any team is thinking. None of us saw the Tyreek Hill trade. 😉
MF, I see your point too. You’re saying their purpose is to set themselves up for a QB next year and that was the point of the trade, which in itself isn’t weird.
Thank you!
Don’t get me wrong on the Hurt’s non-fandom!
that came from college!
And my dislike for running QB’s!
I understand where you’re coming from.
Some of it has to do with this draft class (sucking isn’t the right word but this is a down year in the draft). Grier about bailed on this entire draft, he has a few more weeks so we might not have any picks.
That does seem to be a sign. He’s stocking up next year but is it about Tua or just seeing a better crop next year? We could sneak back into the 2nd or even 1st round this year for a prospect who slid that we had a high grade on? Grier put us in a position to have options and strike. Okay… Fins Up!!!
ALL,
REMEMBER, when we came away with an additional 1st round pick for 2023 last season, Flores was still our HC. Flores is the one who was linked to Deshaun Watson. Flores may have been the one who was undermining Tua the whole time and who wanted that additional 2023 1st round pick.
There you go naming “he who shall not be named”!!!!!!!!!
😆
Tim,
Here’s the way I see it regarding our Phins, okay? Tua balls out this year, and then we have two 1st rounders in ’23 to spend on either our pass-rushing prowess, future CB to replace either X or Byron (I HOPE Iggy makes progress this year!), another Offensive weapon, or maybe even an elite DT.
SKY is the limit, buddy!!! 😀
Now that is an amazing thought- everything works out and we can just take BPA with our two firsts next year. If things work out, Tua take the next step and most of our offseason moves work out, then we can truly be on our way to building a contending team for the future.
I’m game! 🙂
LOL
M13,
Everyone is touting Araiza, how about our boy Jordan Stout?
Sled work!!!!
I don’t think he has that “it” factor. Pass
LOL
You guys crack me up….lol.
If Tua doesn’t reach AFC Championship or SB, he’s a failure?
You guys are on crack…lmao.
If only we traded all of next year’s picks to put us over the top….lmao…if it’s just good weed, I’m in…
Oftentimes a team can add talent, get better, but it doesn’t translate to wins. There are so many factors: injuries, schedule, luck, etc. we won 10 and 9 games the last two seasons; it not unrealistic that we are about the same this season. We have a first time head coach and we have no idea what type of success he will have.
Can’t disagree with that…we don’t even know what we don’t know.
We don’t know if Boyer’s the man? We don’t know if standing pat on D was the right call. They sucked last year against the run…ok…hmmm…we still need a Micah Parsons, imo.
The entire O, except QB, Waddle, Gesicki, Smythe has been turned over…
New HC and staff…
….sounds like a perfect run to a SB!
LOL!
I was asking is that what this season is, if he doesn’t win big this season it’s all because of him? I’m a Tua fan. I don’t think he’ll be the weak link. 🙂
Well, then I misunderstood, and apologize.
I agree Tua needs to be better than last year, with a better OL, WR and RB unit.
That’s how it works…lol
I doubt he’ll be the weak link….he wasn’t last year, for sure!
Krishna, we didn’t suck against the run last year, we had a few bad games. We also struggled to score points on offense because we lacked explosive players. Those two complement each other.
We really did…imo. Gashed a lot, I thought.
Funny word that came to mind…gashed.
If our OL can be solid, doesn’t have to be great, and we can run the ball at a decent clip, we’re going to be good on offense. Too much fire power not to be.
What can help an OL are high percentage plays that go for big gains. Play forward not on your heels.
The perfect O to play to Tua’s strengths….what a concept? Lol…
Right! You put a good game plan together with the talent we have and Tua will pick teams apart. Then our defense comes on the field. We have the potential to be a really good team. 🙂
What people are sleeping on with Tua are his quick feet, instincts and accuracy. In that highlight video I posted he throws passes within a second. He has a very quick release when it’s there. He’s super accurate. I can’t wait to watch teams try to cover both Hill and Waddle. 🙂
The video that’s unavailable because it’s blocked due to NFL content? I’ll take your word for it
Really? Just click the YouTube link. It’s fine. 🙂
They won’t/shouldn’t be able to if McD is the offensive genius people say he is.
Miami gave up 109.8 yards rushing per game in 2021, 13th in the league.
In 2020, they gave up 116.4, also 13th in the NFL.
That’s not terrible.
Excuse me, in 2020 we were 16th in the league in rushing yards per game given up.
116.4
so we improved in 2021.
… …
However,
We gave up 21.9 ppg in 2021, 15th in the NFL.
In 2020, we gave up 21.1, 4th fewest.
So that’s not good.
So you’re counting on a middle of the road D to take us to the SB? Yikes….
Better offense makes the defense better
In 2021 Miami gave up 227.7 or 16th most passing yards per game.
In 2020 they gave up a whopping 251.5 which was 22nd fewest.
… …
So we were a better rush D than pass D in both years.
102.Troy Andersen LB Montana State
125.Cole Strange OG Chattanooga
224.Christopher Allen EDGE Alabama
247.Ryan Stonehouse P Colorado State
Allen is a great guy to pick late. He was a fine HS prospect and had a great 2020 season but lost a season to a knee injury and then lost his senior year to a foot injury.
Troy Andersen is exactly the kind of person you want on your team.
Also a converted QB who set rushing records.
Anderson, could be a backup FB in a pinch also.
I have pondered Christopher Allen in my mocks numerous times but didn’t pull the trigger. If he is healthy and his head on straight, he could be a steal.
Haven’t had enough coffee. “head on straight”, didn’t mean he was a problem child, it meant, “he often seems lost in terms of play recognition and what he needs to do to get in on a play.” As far as what I read. He has all the talent but may need a couple years to develop.

I’m not counting on the 2021 team to get us to the playoffs in 2022.

M13,
Everyone is touting Araiza, how about our boy Jordan Stout?
——————–
Brian, I like him. He has a good average and heard he has the best hang time of all them.
It seems at first glance that we did nothing on defense, because well, we didn’t.
Of course, we still have 4 picks in the draft and a little cap money,
so there might be some additions to the defense yet to come.
I think we could add a ILB through FA or the draft. I mentioned the other day about Kwan Alexander still available. Through the draft, I really hope it is Troy Anderson. Other than that, I think we are looking at a DB, Edge or DT. Then some UDFA defensive players.
My mocks are almost identical to Wyoming: ILB, Center, Defense BPA, Punter.
We don’t really need anybody else on offense except a backup center, although we might pick up a RB and a WR, because both positions are deep this year with quality players available late.
So we will probably draft a couple defensive players.
… …
A backup to spell Ogbah and another boundary CB would be good to get.
But there is something to be gained by standing pat, esp. on Defense.
In a season which will have extreme turmoil in the HC and all over the Offense, both coaches and players, it’s important to have some continuity on defense.
And bringing back those 3 LB, tagging Needham, and giving Ogbah and X big raises sends positive vibes to the men on defense.
Those guys feel needed and wanted, and that’s a good thing on a unit which feeds off camaraderie.
They may feel needed now, they’ve mostly been given a clean slate, they still need to get it done as a unit this year
Something tells me they want to upgrade though. Just gaging with all the 1 year contracts.
BBM
Both Allen and Andersen need some time to develop their mental game, but physically they are ready.
And as you say, they are not attitude problems at all, just raw in terms of understanding their position as it is played in the NFL.
They would be good to have as backups with potential.
Yeah, you have talked me into Velus Jones. My last mock I had to take him and took Center Deaton in the 7th. Think it went Troy Anderson, Velus Jones, Punter, Deaton.
Damn, that was supposed to be a 9:30 response above. lol
Regarding Cheetah’s ‘flip-flops’ …
fwiw, upon a closer look they appear to be “recovery sandals”. They have a built in arch support and a heel-to-toe rocker motion like a running shoe. Essentially like getting a massage on bottom of feet while walking. I have a pair I wear before and after runs and in the house. Going barefoot or ‘flip-flops’ actually causes my legs to ache after a while. 🙂
Thanks Rhino, now that you mentioned it, my doctor had mentioned getting a pair when I had plantar fasciitis. I ended up just getting arch supports for my shoes.
Orange slippers in other words.
Flip flops are bad for your feet.
Going barefoot is good for your feet.
Boat shoes are bad for your feet.
Individually sculpted orthotic inserts at $350 per pair
(need different ones for each pair of shoes)
are great for your feet.
According to my physical therapist.
I’m barefoot now.
My “Reef” flip flops are the best I have ever had.
I am aware of all the 1-year contracts and what they mean.
I’m pretty sure the players on those contracts also understand what they mean.
As I said, resigning those guys is good for the morale (fighting spirit) of the team.
Hint: “We want you back, but you need to perform or …”
You’re 100% correct on the feet Naples.
Just came to me why a bunch of you might be higher on the team than me. As far as I was concerned the season ended game before Thanksgiving. I caught the news clips on a couple at the end, but not the same thing.
Here’s what I missed…. makes a big difference.

That’s just admitting de-feet 😊
Since we only have 4 draft picks and this is a weak QB year, we still need a camp arm and a QB to stash on the practice squad.
I wanted Skylar Thompson, but he has gone from potential UDFA to a 4th or 5th round prospect. The other I liked, Tanner Mordecai, has decided to return to SMU.
I am looking at potential UDFA’s we could bring in. Jack Coan is not one of them, he blows, and I am a ND fan.
I like Dustin Crum after Skylar Thompson. He has a strong arm and good deep ball accuracy for a 6’1 210 QB. Has some skills pulling the ball down and running also. He may get drafted though.
The biggest “name” would be Brock Purdy from Iowa State. He still may get drafted. He has a lot of experience as a starter and one of the better QB’s with pass efficiency. His TD to INT ratio is not the greatest though.
Next would be Cole Johnson from James Madison, 6’5 215. He is another who may get drafted and probably ahead of Purdy. I like him a lot, last year 68% comp 3779 yards, 41 TD, 4 INT. Last year was first as a fulltime starter.
Then Cole Kelley from SE Louisiana, 6’7 249. Has a strong arm but lacks some long ball touch. He under throws deep balls even though he has the arm.
There are some others but not sure about them. This is a terrible QB class so may have to take who we could get.
D’Eriq King, Miami (Fla.) 5-9 196
Anthony Brown, Oregon 6-3 226
Eric Barriere, E. Washington 6-1 210
Aqeel Glass, Alabama A&M 6-5 215
EJ Perry Brown 6-2 211
“From my understanding, Parker is someone that Coach Bill Belichick has liked for a long time, has always respected his skill set and really someone that he considers to be a solid addition to his receiving corps. And then it went the other way, too. DeVante Parker wanted to be a member of the New England Patriots.”
“He didn’t have a no-trade clause, so he didn’t have the power like that. It’s not like he’s Russell Wilson. But from my understanding, he made it very clear that he wanted to be a member of the Patriots, and as soon as general manager Chris Grier realized that was the best deal that they could get, it worked out well for all sides.”
— Ian Rapoport on the Parker trade. And heck if I was Parker would want out of Miami too. His talent deservers better than riding the pine.
Stanger
I’ll miss Parker, but players come and go.
I don’t let myself get too attached anymore.
It’s not like the days of my youth,
where most guys played their whole careers for your team.
… …
That ended when Csonka left us for the f’n WFL, the SOB.
I think we could’ve won another SB if he and Warfield had stayed with us.
But he made a bunch of money,
and it was something that just happened in history at that moment
when it would most screw us up like that.
I’ll only miss what Parker could have been, or was in 2019. But yeah players are only here for so long.
Doesn’t stop me from getting attached to players, especially ones we drafted. Right now Holland comes to mind. Waddle too, but tend to have less of a soft spot for players who come in with all the hype, They are supposed to be stars.
agree on a special feeling for the ones we draft, which is why I’ll miss Devante.
I think Holland might be a HOF level player.
I also have high hopes for Phillips developing into something really special.
He reminds me so much of JT.
tall, slim, fast, ball skills, zero body fat, high motor,
a bit raw but very high ceiling,
a late bloomer but built for a long career.
Serious question. How long do you all think Parker’s hammies will last in the cold of Boston during Nov.Dec.? Also would take the over.under on him having 50 receptions this year?
I’m going Under for sure.
good points
Bellicheat will use him wisely, and he’s a huge help to Big Mac,
so I’m scared about that.
But our DBs know him so well that he won’t be able to sneak out like he does.
With the over under 50 receptions, all you are really asking is if Devante stays healthy. Maybe not a standout #1 WR for them, but if he is playing he is their best.
BBM
Very cool on your having Reefs. Must be the SC sea island thing we have in common.
I have a pair of Reefs … they are the best … but they are not the between the toe thongs type.
Mine slide on and fasten with straps via velcro.
According to my therapist,
Something about needing to curl the toes under to keep traditional thong flop flops on while walking eventually causes malformation of the two big toes …
plus zero arch support and zero heel cushioning is why they are so bad for the feet.
Also looking at UDFA RB’s where we may be able to upgrade from Doaks.
I like Kevin Harris from South Carolina. He is a true compact big back at 5’10 220 and tough to tackle. I think he may have fallen out of being drafted after posting a 4.56. He seems to play faster though.
Two others I like are:
CJ Verdell, Oregon 5’7 205
D’vonte Price, FIU 6’1 210
Stanger
Do you think Parker stays healthy?
Doubt he plays all 17, but he could make an impact in 14…. which would be my over/under for him.
Another I like but he may have “combined” his way out being an UDFA due to his 4.37 40 is Isaiah Pacheco from Rutgers, 5’10 216. He has this jerky upper body juke move that don’t seem to work. When he gets daylight, he is gone. Good size speed combo.
Finally, a highlight video with decent music. lol
I shudder to click it an see
Oh ye lf little faith!
I apologize. the music is pretty good. Not Norm McDonaldish at all.

Early on in the draft process Price was rated in the top 5 of RBS. I like Jerome Ford myself.
Jerome Ford was my original first choice of RB for us,
and I still think he is the bowling ball we need.
I’d be excited to get him or Zamir White,
both of whom keep falling in the various Big Boards to where we could get them.
We have all the same type of backs, scat backs,
which is good,
but we need a bruiser, too, IMHO.
Maybe Doaks,
but Zamir ran a 4.4 and Jerome Ford a 4.6, so they are not kludges back there.

I get the second half of your avatar name,

lol
I’d assume …. you want what
Or you one twat

I’d love to have Pacheco; he’s a Mostert clone, which is a great thing.
He runs with great vision and patience and would fit right into the McDaniel system.
He’s in the mold of those Shanahan “no-name” backs that end up leading the league for a year or 2.
I agree.
Ford and White will both get drafted. I am looking for UDFA.
I did not know Price was considered top 5. I had not seen him in any rankings during the season. I did read where there was some preseason hype and he could be the best RB entering the drafaat out of all the FL schools. He was a no name, to me, until I started looking. Unless he is being mixed up with Davis-Price from LSU who will get drafted also.
Naples
I dabble in trying to write stories and my 1 st effort I titled, “You want What”
That of course got shortened to Uwantwat and I thought it made a reasonable user name.
Btw it was a typical 1st effort, turned out to be total crap. LOL
cool
both the user name and your writing stories …
I write as well,
but I make my stuff the kind of thing nobody wants to read.
BBM
Price was in the very early rankings, he has fallen right of the screen. Verdell is another like that.
Yeah, with Verdell it was injuries. As I looked into Price more, I see what you are saying about the early rankings. I still think he gets drafted.
Verdell, I think could be an UDFA steal. He did everything at his pro day to show teams he is healthy but did not score well. I don’t think he is 100% yet.
We have 3 QBs on the roster we may be able to go into camp with 3, think we’d try to add a 4th at some point, just to put feelers out there on some prospect
I agree, but
Streveler though is a bit of a freak, and we might think we need a more conventional guy to run the scout team during the season.
Just because he’s a freak and has a lot of skills doesn’t mean he can’t do the conventional stuff, bet he’d take that job, and would be a handy jack of all trades guy waiting for any opportunity
Yeah, that’s what I think.
Goodnight all.
Allen, dude, you are late to the game! lol
He needs a Bellicheat Patriot hoodie to wipe his ass with also.
Now that’s a burger. But as of now, McDonald’s only serves the Triple Samurai Mac in Japan.

and this is apropos of what?
I mean ok, so now i’m jonesin’ for a cheeseburger, but why?
Apropos of an article just read about it. If everything connected to be before there would never be a new topic.
When did Chris Greer start working for Amazon?
(He has the devils prick logo on his tweet) That’s what I call the Amazon logo. The Devils Prick.
No player has held Tua back more than Parker, from his inability to stay healthy to his lack of separation to his lack of YAC
He played hurt another, but was usually in effective when doing so
He played hurt often
Uwantwat – why yes, yes I do.

He is from a different country but he talks good ‘ol Merikan Redneck.

Yeah buddy!!
He’s got all pro talent.
I’m happy to see the Dolphins FO post positive things about players/coaches they’ve parted ways with
I really hope these things continue
I don’t really like the petty nastiness we heard after Flores left. I don’t know if the FO was the source, but look, the nfl is a business and people move on, It’s not personnel
Finally I’m a somebody !!! First positive Covid test woot woot 🥴
Congratulations
Thank ya Thank ya very much
Take care Toba. Remember they have the anti-viral pill treatments now if seems to become severe.
NFLN doing a spot on Have the Fins arrived in a 1/2 hour
Is that a question? If so the answer is no. They will have arrived when they have 10 wins at some point this season. (Hopefully week 11, assuming an early bye week ) Until that happens no they have not arrived.
Agreed, they haven’t arrived…hopefully, they are on their way…lol
2 of 4 said we COULD challenge for division, other 2 say pretty tough for a 1st year HC vs Bellichek and McDiarmid
Tyreek Hill goes to the playoffs that’s just a fact
Toba, congrats on becoming somebody!
At least you’re a stat….lol
I continue to just live life as a nobody…lol.
We need to beat the Bills at least once this year.
Would love to see us be 2-0 against the Bills.
Then, we can start talk about arriving and SBs….lol.😉😊
That’s why I started off with one. We’ve lost 7 in a row against them. Beat them once and get that monkey off our back.
One is fine, but I want payback….I think they may overlook us the first game as they’ve been pretty dominant. Weren’t they one of the teams that ran all over us….I don’t really know.
A good portion of their rushing yards against us was from Josh Allen – 90 total in 2 games. The biggest problem we’ve had against the Bills is we couldn’t score against them. 11 points in 2 games including being shut out.
We have until 5/2 to decide whether we pick up Christian Wilkins’ 5th year option. I think we do.
We should make a deal to keep him, imo. He’s improved every year and is solid.
If we pick up his 5th year option we have him for at least 2 more years, this is his 4th season.

Best wishes, Toba.
Hope it’s the lightest case in Canada.
Didn’t Wilkins have the most tackles of any NFL DT ever?
not Darnold … what?
Suh Who?
Since a certain year I can’t remember what year it was. It’s not ever.
The thing that’s really good about Wilkins is he brings a lot of energy to the team, he moves really well for a big man and he can play all the techniques as a DT. He’s a guy you can move around.
Wilkins notched 89 tackles (49 solo), 4.5 sacks, four pass breakups, one forced fumble, and one fumble recovery, plus blocked for several TDs and caught a TD pass himself.
Plus he’s a great guy to have cheering on the sideline.
He should’ve been pro bowl.
I think he’s been stellar….see another Ogbah but DL..and he’s homegrown…would love it.
I predict both the Buffalo Chips and the Miami Dolphins go 5-1 in the Div.
I hope the jest and patsies both go 1-5.
“Wilkins’ seven tackles gave him 82 this season, an NFL single-season record for a defensive tackle.”
Peanut Gallery Sports
@PGSportsBanter
Lost in the shuffle is the fact that Christian Wilkins broke the single-season record for tackles by a DT, with 82.
Should be going to the Pro Bowl.
I remember some NTs back in the day having over 100 tackles or close to it. Ted Washington had 92 in 1996. But it doesn’t matter. Wilkins is a very active and underrated player. He’s been my avi since he was drafted. 😉
