If Connor Williams will be a fixture at center, then the alignment I have up top may well be what we see to start the season. Or, perhaps they flip Liam Eichenberg and Austin Jackson, so Eichenberg plays RT with Jackson inside at LG. Or maybe Michael Deiter moves to one of the guard spots. My thought though is if we’re looking for the most athletic players in the outside zone blocking scheme, then these are the 5 players. Everything is fluid though, they haven’t even strapped on pads yet, but there’s no harm in speculating away, since at this point, it’s all we can do.
Connor Williams appears to like playing center though, and he’s far more athletic and capable of getting into second level blocks than his predecessor, Michael Deiter. One thing I can say is this is a BIG O-line. Athletic, but BIG. If it stays as currently constituted, with every linemen at 6’5 or taller, and at the moment, Eichenberg the lone member under 320 pounds. I loved watching Solomon Kindley here, he’s a mauler, but I don’t think he fits the scheme we’re running with now. I suppose he could drop some weight and gain some quickness, but he’s a small area operator for best results, and this offensive line will be all about movement, angles and getting a body on a body just long enough to get him out of the play. That doesn’t mean this O-line won’t be physical, aggressive, but it’s based on lots of motion from most of the line, not just one on one beating the person immediately in front of you, there’s a lot of teamwork.
The good thing from my perspective is no matter who plays where, our depth will be much better. I can’t say it enough times, no reason to give up on the young talented players we drafted in ’20 and ’21 like Austin Jackson and Liam Eichenberg. These guys will be at the very least average NFL starters and with better coaching, more than that. If the line plays out like I put up on top then you have Deiter and Kindley as depth on the interior, and Coleman, Jones and Little on the outside with the possibility of still adding someone after June 1st cuts. I know there will always be some folks who think we didn’t do enough on the O-line, (you know who YOU are), but if you’re one of them, you’re simply discounting the aforementioned young players in Jackson and Eichenberg. These guys have to be given the opportunity to be good NFL players because they should be. Is it possible we pick up a veteran center like J.C. Tretter? Of course. We were extremely “comfortable” with Deiter not too long ago at C, and now it’s Williams. Adding Tretter just adds more talent and another starter and makes the line even better, but not sure if it’s in the cards, or the cap.

Brennan Scarlett seems to have a place on this team as an Edge, DE and can play some off-ball LB inside the box. He’ll play STs as well. Sometimes a 7 year vet like him gives a team versatility and depth. He’s not a household name but plays a role on game day.

I’m surprised it was only that stangerx….Mrs. K’s ONE WEEK stay before she died was $480K…..I paid the $750 deductible for the hospital and ran!!!!
That $480k is mind blowing. But you paid for it (or a lot of other businesses and insurance payers did). It’s like a creepy lotto. You get that sick and you end up “the winner.”
I remember back in 2010 when I had my bariatric surgery it was denied by my health insurance as “elective” even though it was going to essentially make me lose weight and be significantly healthier. I paid for it out of my own pocket. About $15k. I kept saying to myself that one day I want to get really sick so I can stick it to the insurance company. I got my wish. 🥺
And like Rock said — the insurance companies couldn’t care less. They have their metrics and the blips are just part of the big plan.
There is a major problem with our healthcare system. When I was electrocuted in 1991 the total hospital stay and emergency services cost $640+K. I requested an itemization (actually had to demand with legal letters to get them) and I was enraged at the BS bill stacking that went on.
I was intubated and in a coma for the first 6 days, but somehow they were able to give me 3ea $8.00 Tylenols per day….The bill was packed with stuff that was NEVER administered. I was on a morphine drip why would I need Tylenol? There charges for enemas, bandages, it was stupid the stuff that was tacked in.
I spent days forensically going through the bill highlighting all the stuff that was impossible for them to have given me and I presented it to my lawyer to give to the insurance company.
The insurance company didn’t care. NOBODY cared. I was so upset by the whole deal.
For sure is messed up my intubated buddy. I’ve been caught in the middle btwn the hospital and insurance company since got out. Hospital says “your insurance company denied your claim…. here’s a bill for $970k due on receipt.” Insurance company says “we refused for not proving the right info….. what they sent us has 43 line item charges with no explanation of that they are charging for.”
Big picture what gets me is the insurance company only pays a modest percentage of the prices hospitals charge. So it makes no sense for anyone to go without insurance and pay full price. Other than that would make sense for some in their 20s and 30s to pay their own way on health and grab some high-deductible catastrophic injury insurance that kicks in at some very high level of medical expenses.
Many times when you are sedated or comatose meds will be administered IV or through a nasal gastric tube. That said not sure why you would be given Tylenol while on a morphine drip. Although after my surgery I did have both narcotic and Tylenol administered for a short time. Couple of days or so

The problem is that legally they have very little information to rely upon suspending him without running the risk of incurring liability from a defamation suit. If there was a criminal indictment then yes no brained for the league. But with unsubstantiated and factually disputed civil claims that are likely not to be played out in public the league would be on dangerous ground to suspend. This is not Ray Rice on video for the whole world to see
The league doesn’t need a criminal case and I’m pretty sure they can do what they want in this case under the guise of “conduct detrimental”. They have conducted their own investigation and it’s been proven time and again that Goodell has very broad authority in anything that falls under that clause. A player with 24 civil cases should easily fall into that category.
IMO the only question is does the league give him a slap on the wrist for PR purposes (6 games) or do they say, you aren’t representing our league until this is cleared up (a season or more).
But, on the flip side, they didn’t suspend him last year, so maybe you’re right…

The new coaches might have seen good stuff from the young OL as in they can do the job, but as a group and the scheme we played last year might have been the problem. They might have even thought what they were asked to do was ridiculous. If McDaniel and his staff thought the ability wasn’t there I think they would have approached FA differently.

I think they were all lost because of how our offense allowed opponents to attack us. It was 90% RPO, either hand it off out of shotgun or throw shallow routes. Sure we threw in some wrinkles here and there but it was mostly RPO. We rarely made a team pay for overloading with the blitz.
