  1. Rockphin says:

I would love to see us run for over 150 yards against Chi this week. I want to see domination of another team this season and the week is as good as any for it to start. LOL

  2. naplesfan2010 says:

    Do they have good DBs?
    also
Their injury report looks really bad for a team that
    recently had their bye week.

  3. naplesfan2010 says:

    Rock
I’m with you on getting some rush yards.
If Mostert and Wilson could each run for 50
and catch another 15-20 each out of the backfield,
we could control the clock well enough
to keep their two RB studs from doing the same to us.

  4. Mike E. says:

UK – I think the Bills are done w/o Allen

  5. Mike E. says:

Rock – I too would love to see us run for 150 yards against CHI. How are we going to arrange that though? lol

    • Rockphin says:

LOL Just keep at it Mike. They give up 4.8 yards per rush average this year. They have a decent defense but they are not top of the league in anything.

  6. naplesfan2010 says:

OK so the Browns start Grant Delpit and John Johnson at Safety.

    I remember Delpit being draftable,
but not sure how either has done as a pro.
    They aren’t stars, though,
and they only carry 2 other safeties.

  7. Rockphin says:

    I am We Todd IT

I am Sofa King We Todd IT!!

We play the Browns this week, we already played the bears.

  8. Krishna says:

I have wondered if being blown up by running QBs means we are very vulnerable to be blown up by a team that is BUILT to run the ball.

I don’t have faith our front 7 will contain them. I hope I’m wrong.

Or our O outscored them…let’s hope.

    • naplesfan2010 says:

      Krishna
Running backs against Miami this year are gaining
      only 69 yards per game,
but that includes that 60 yard run by Dalvin Cook
that broke us for the Vikings.
Without that run, the Vikes only got about 20 yards rushing the whole game.

Our total rush yards given up also includes
the 118 that the jest got when Breece Hall went crazy on us,
      and got 97 by himself,
and they ran it a lot late to burn clock with the lead.

Hopefully, Chubb and Hunt do not run on us like Hall did.

**** Tua did not play in either game.

PD: Hall also caught 2 passes for 100 yards in that disaster jest game.

      • naplesfan2010 says:

        PS

      • Krishna says:

Whenever I hear except for that 60 or 30 or 70 yard run play my counter is that’s exactly the point….they are inexcusable for a run D. It should never happen, but I think it’s happened a few times.

  9. naplesfan2010 says:

At CB, the Browns do have Denzel Ward,
who was a 1st round draft pick in 2018.
11 INTs and 56 PDs in his career,
    so he is producing.

The other starting CB is Greg Newsome, a 2021 first rounder
who has yet to get an INT and only has 1 PD so far this season.

BOTH starting corners are listed as Questionable for the Dolphins game.
    Also Newsome’s backup is Questionable.

Ward’s backup is Greedy Williams, a tall skinny player but not a stud.
Drafted in 2019, he only has 2 picks and 12 PDs in his career.

  10. Mike E. says:

Rock – Ahhhh, now you get my drift. 🙂

  11. Rockphin says:

So the browns are the same as us giving up 4.6 yards per carry and 123 yards per game. Still just need to keep at it against their D.

We need to slow down Clowney and Myles Garret. Best way to do that is to run at Clowney and then play action the hell out of them.

  12. Rockphin says:

The Secret (not so secret) to being able to run the ball and to stop them from running the ball will be to jump out to a lead and make them press to catch up.

  13. Wyoming85 says:

    Give Allie a vote

  14. Rockphin says:

Ima blame Mike E on my mistake because the header on the top of the board still shows Chicago. LOL

  15. Rockphin says:

as a fan base we need to crush this douche bag every day.

  16. Rockphin says:

    Nah, he sucks

  17. steveccnv says:

We’ve stopped the run this year mostly with smoke and mirrors

Wonder how that changes with Chubb

The bigger physical backs have hurt us at times due to poor tackling and the fast shifty backs

Mixon was lighting us up early with RAC

Hall of the jets also lit us up

I’m not at all confident we can contain their RBs

  18. Rockphin says:

YOU ARE AN IDIOT DUECHE BAG! TUA IS GREAT!

Something I knew, but didn’t realize (if that makes sense) Just read this on twitter

Tua has finished 6 games this year and he won Fedex Air in half of them.

    NICE

  23. bailbondmike says:

    • ukfinfan says:

Don’t know what you’re celebrating (anniversary of inauguration?) but happy “____”day anyway. Saw your voyage to the bottom of the sea comment the other day. Used to love that show when it was on when I was a kid. Back in those days, we had BBC1, BBC2 and one commercial channel (ITV) to choose from. Vttbots was very exotic by those standards!

  26. Wyoming85 says:

I don’t know if I like it or not?
    Show mw again! 😉

  27. naplesfan2010 says:

Besides this week’s game, we only have the Houston game, also at home,
before December / January cold weather starts to affect us.
(and esp. Tua, so goes the narrative that he can’t play in bad weather)

We could be 8-3!!! (knock on wood)

Late season games are typically thought of as “crunch time”
because all teams are feeling the opportunity to miss the playoffs
… or nail down a top seed …
so that, coupled with bad weather in many cities, should DIS-favor a team like ours.

I know you all know this, but for the first time in many years,
we might be looking at December from the perspective of having a winning record
that we are trying to maintain
instead of desperately trying to fend off 6 different bubble teams
to even have a shot at the playoffs.

I know you know all this, too. It’s just fun to think of us in this new way.

    • ukfinfan says:

For me Naples, the emphasis is more on our MO than particularly on Tua. We are a pass first, precision speed offense, which sprinkles in the run to make play-action work.

Heavy rain, strong wind and extreme cold/snow can all derail the effectiveness of such a system more than, say, a ground and pound style attack. We aren’t the only offense to play like we do, but it’s a nagging feeling in the back of my mind, I have to say. I hope I’m completely wide of the mark.

  28. naplesfan2010 says:

My point is that we won’t see that much bad weather this year.

We play in SF, but the opposing HC and the 49ers defense are a bigger problem than the weather, as it’ll only be December 4th.

We play in LA, but the distance and the opponent are the problems, not weather.

We play GB in Miami on Christmas Day, so no weather problems there either.
We have already played the jest up there, so no weather issues for that one either.

That leaves the obvious issue of Buffalo on 12/18 and the patsies on New Years Day.

  29. naplesfan2010 says:

The forecast for Buffalo on 12/18 is 35 degrees with a slight chance of snow.

It’s a game that might be played on 12/17.
That day it might be 3-5 degrees colder, but with clear skies.

Can Tua and our WRs function in that? maybe
We made the Bills play us at home in 100 degree 95% humidity, so fair is fair.

    • ukfinfan says:

Either your forecasters are better than ours or you have more faith in them than me. Ours can’t even get tomorrow’s weather right half the time!

      • Rockphin says:

LOL I thought the same thing.

Let me assure you UK, our forecasters are NOT any better than yours. Predicting the weather 5-6 weeks ahead of time is a silly exorcize.

  30. naplesfan2010 says:

The worst weather will be in Foxboro (of course)
where the prediction for New Years Day is 38 and sleet.

But then they have an Alabama QB also, soooo …

  31. Wyoming85 says:

  32. ukfinfan says:

    Enjoy

  33. ukfinfan says:

Tua consistently underthrows his receivers and hasn’t got a strong enough arm to complete deep passes

  34. stangerx says:

“I will tell you things about him that won’t be very flattering. I know more about him than anybody other than perhaps his wife, who is really running his campaign.”

    — Trump on if DeSantis runs. And only The Donald could know more about him than his mother.

  35. Rockphin says:

Among players who have been targeted at least 30 times in coverage this season, Howard has the worst passer rating against (from a defensive standpoint), according to Pro Football Focus.

    Howard needs to fix this.

  36. naplesfan2010 says:

Howard is entering that phase of his career where he starts getting nagging injuries, same as Terron Armstead.

Some guys can stay close to greatness just through football IQ, but some fade so badly that they become a liability.

  37. Rockphin says:

Not sure what the rest of your comment meant.

He is referring to the FALSE equivalency that Trump should not have been impeached for trying to blackmail Ukraine for dirt on Biden by withholding aide because Biden as VP pressured Ukraine by threatening to withhold $1B in aide if Ukraine did not fire their corrupt federal prosecutor.

    https://www.usatoday.com/story/news/factcheck/2020/10/21/fact-check-joe-biden-leveraged-ukraine-aid-oust-corrupt-prosecutor/5991434002/

It was NOT because that prosecutor was investigating Biden’s son’s employer Burisma (which has been shown to be false) it was because he refused to investigate the rampant corruption in the Ukraine government that allowed Russia to basically make policy decisions for Ukraine. It was OFFICIAL US POLICY supported and backed publically by our European allies. Not the blackmail Trump attempted.

  38. naplesfan2010 says:

I thought we could’ve gotten another good year out of several players in the last 10-15 years. I hope we find a way to keep X viable.

Reshad Jones is one I think had his career fore-shortened by coaches losing interest in him. I think he had one maybe two more good years in him, but they just let him drift into disuse.

I even think that about Ricky Williams. I thought Parcells gave him bad advice and in fact messed this team up big time and cost us several years of catching back up.

  40. stangerx says:

Alex Jones was already toast, but now he’s black crispy toast.
    ——————————
Infowars host Alex Jones and his company were ordered by a judge Thursday to pay an extra $473 million for promoting false conspiracy theories about the Sandy Hook school massacre, bringing the total judgment against him in a lawsuit filed by the victims’ families to a staggering $1.44 billion.

Connecticut Judge Barbara Bellis imposed the punitive damages on the Infowars host and Free Speech Systems. Jones repeatedly told his millions of followers the massacre that killed 20 first graders and six educators was staged by “crisis actors” to enact more gun control.

“The record clearly supports the plaintiffs’ argument that the defendants’ conduct was intentional and malicious, and certain to cause harm by virtue of their infrastructure, ability to spread content, and massive audience including the infowarriors,” the judge wrote.

    • Ken says:

The sad thing is that the families will probably never see a penny or just get pennies on the dollar

      • stangerx says:

He was estimated to be worth $200 mil, but he was also scrambling hard to get it out of his name too. They’d have to shut down the site to stop the income from going to the family though.

      • Ken says:

He will declare bankruptcy which will liquidate most of what the unprotected assets are amongst numerous creditors and not just from the parties in these multiple lawsuits. He will then likely force a choice between shutting the down website to pay the families or have them continue to allow its operations so that he may have a stream of income for the families to attach a portion of. I also sure the books will show a modest profit if any at all

      • stangerx says:

I wouldn’t doubt these families say shut down the site then. He starts another one they can go after that.

  41. stangerx says:

“I don’t care. I just want to go win.”

Just one question this morning Rock. Why were you googling Japanese dog-biscuits?

  58. ukfinfan says:

Bakers been o/d ing on the supplements?

  59. naplesfan2010 says:

    sheesh
after just a little more than half a season,
Tyreek is already #52 on the Dolphins all time receiving yards list.

He needs just 18 yards to pass — you guessed it — Wes Welker.

  60. Rockphin says:

PFF Most improved offensive lineman at every position:

RIGHT GUARD: ROBERT HUNT, MIAMI DOLPHINS
    2022 Grade: 77.1
    2021 Grade: 67.4

In 2020 and 2021, Hunt was a rare bright spot on an otherwise underwhelming Dolphins offensive line. But as the Miami line has improved, Hunt has also taken a big step forward.

The third-year guard’s 77.1 PFF grade ranks eighth among players at the position through Week 9, but what might be even more impressive is that he is one of only five guards who rank in the top 15 in both run-blocking and pass-blocking grade.

His pressure rate has improved in every season, too: This year his 3.2% pressure rate ranks 17th among guards.

Best game in 2022: Week 3 vs. Bills (94.3 PFF grade)

He our best Olineman last season and he got better. This is the answer to should we move him back to tackle. NO he can be a probowl guard.

  61. Rockphin says:

I guess the Jest are on a bye this week. Regardless, even though they can’t lose they can’t win either. This is the week we take the AFCE top seed and not look back. Buff loses to Minn, the Jets sit at 6-3 and we whoop the Browns to go to 7-3 and division leader.

    • Rockphin says:

Then next week while we rest, if the Pets can take care of business we come back to the world as it should be with the Jets at the bottom of the division again.

  62. naplesfan2010 says:

Tua is currently at a 147 passer rating on 3rd downs.

  66. Rockphin says:

    DAMN!!

Armstead listed on the injury report with a NEW injury. Calf problem on top of the chronic toe issue he has been nursing since game 1. I hope it’s not serious and he can play through the pain well enough. Clowney and Garrett are serious threats to blow up an offense.

  67. naplesfan2010 says:

    Rock
yeah I hate that missed TD by Sherfield.
That’s a rookie HC mistake to not challenge that.
We could’ve fumbled and gotten no points.
Also Sherfield would’ve been more motivated if he had scored a TD
    with that great effort,
and several of Tua’s stats would’ve improved.

    • Rockphin says:

Yeah, I don’t like the what if game, because if you change one thing other things would have changed as well, but DAMN MAN I HATE being on the shit end of the stick in these types of situations. I keep going back to Teddy being pulled from the Jets game and what a difference to the conference landscape that one difference made. We would sit alone in first place in the AFCE right now AND be the #1 seed in the AFC hoping to KEEP a bye and home field advantage instead of fighting up hill to get it.

  68. naplesfan2010 says:

Another one that would’ve improved Tua’s stat sheet is the peek that Smythe took which threw off what would’ve been a first down toss at the end of the Bears game.

    Pisses me off,
but maybe it’s a good lesson for Smythe that did not hurt us in the W/Ls.

Same with that stupid casual FG attempt from 29 frickin’ yards. Learn to bear down. There’s strong wind in Chicago, even that close. He has to drive that kick through.

  69. Wyoming85 says:

  70. naplesfan2010 says:

… yeah the Browns dominated Burrow with sacks.

We can’t let them get all happy and single minded.
We need to run draws and screens
or whatever McDaniel calls them or
whatever he uses from his Madden playbook to punish the pass rush.

If we do that for 6-8 yard gains early, it will force the DEs to blink.
That’s all Tua needs with his quick release.
