  2. naplesfan2010 says:

While I’m on a Danny Downer rant,
I’m not giving Boyer a pass either.

He’s really not stopped anybody with that Defense.
We’ve out scored almost everybody we beat.

The only team he stopped was Pitt
and that was from the rookie QB’s mistakes. They got tons of yards against us.

You could say he stopped NE, but that was the first game,
and Matt Patricia was lost out there.

We did ok against the Vikings.

  3. Rockphin says:

Alain Pooptart over there on twitter arguing that there would not be a “significant” drop off in play if Teddy B started in this offense over Tua. He is dying on a hill alone out there fighting about the meaning of “significant”

    • steveccnv says:

He’s just looking at the stats he wants to

Against Bengals he had a chance to win it, threw int

Against the jets he couldn’t get that score on the late drive Sanders missed the FG

Against Minn Waddle fumbled on decisive drive

Tua has been getting it done, when it matters most

    • naplesfan2010 says:

      Really?
I’ll need to lower my opinion of that guy.
Teddy does not process fast enough for this offense.

  4. naplesfan2010 says:

I liked Acho’s “Good, Bad, Ugly” take on the SF game.
The good were those two TD passes.
The bad was missing a wide open Sherfield for a repeat of his TD.
And the ugly was the INT when Wilson fell down
(which I do not blame Tua for, as the pass was perfectly placed.
It’s just that Wilson was lying flat on his chest and
the DB well behind him caught a fat gift.)

    • ukfinfan says:

Don’t even mention that play Naples. 😑🀬😱

I couldn’t sleep last night so got up for a drink and put the NFL replays on to watch the end of the KC v Cin game. Pass/run numbers were Chiefs 27/23 Bengals 31/34. I know the Bengals ran the clock out, but for me, this is the one area where MM has not fulfilled his “promise” (I use the term loosely) as he has not transformed us into a run first attack. Which is what good teams do. We are what seems to be a “run the minimum number of times to keep the opponent D honest” O. And this may be one of a few Achilles heels that kills us. Anyway, I digress – after that game was over I switched to the Fins game, and they showed the drive which the “ugly” above led to. Even Moose in commentary implied the holding call on Hunt was one of the most outrageous he’d seen, with the line “if that was holding I held on every play!”. That play resulted in a Mostert 1st down run into the red zone being called back and an INT the very next play. Shameful. I went back to bed then and seethed until I nodded off again. Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr.

      • steveccnv says:

We didn’t run the ball, Tua was off, Armstead was out, Waddle out early, sacks, ints, bad penalties called against…and there we were with 6 minutes to go 1 horrible overturn away from driving to go ahead td

Sure their QB was out, but it didn’t matter to them

Doug Farrar of Touchdown Wire watched the Niners game and — surprise — came away uber-impressed by the Phin’s O. It’s a bit of a long read with some X and O stuff, but well worth it. Particularly if you want to learn why he thinks we have one of the best offenses in the NFL.

“the stuff Tagovailoa left on the bone with hurried and errant throws should be serious cause for concern should these teams meet again.”

In a loss, the Dolphins showed how dangerous their offense can be (no paywall)

    • Rockphin says:

The world the Dolphins live in now is a world in which they can demolish any defense as long as everyone is in point. Maybe this bump in the road happened at the perfect time, and it will be the catalyst for this team to round back into shape, and beat the daylights out of every opponent β€” at least, on the offensive side of the ball.

Maybe it leads them to a Super Bowl rematch with the 49ers. Wouldn’t that be fun?

  10. Krishna says:

Naples, just to be clear, I’m not giving anyone a pass. It’s a team game and it was a team loss. Period.

But, if you want to throw in conjecture and what ifs, I thought I’d play along.

Tua sucked balls, MM’s reason for not running the ball more is lame, letting Mr. Irrelevant be relevant, D allowing 5 minute possessions, poor execution on many fronts….lol.

    We have to do better!

    • Even with all that we had a chance in the 4th quarter down 23-17 with the ball. We didn’t get it done. It was a tough loss to a good team on the road.

I don’t like the Mr. Irrelevant narrative. The kid played well. Just because he’s a rookie backup doesn’t mean he stinks.

    • Krishna says:

It is a testament to our potential, that is all. We didn’t get the job done. We lost.

A rookie QB should be challenged in every way possible. I don’t think Boyer made adjustments and the SF system is plug and play. I honestly wasn’t impressed with the SF defense. They could have been shredded if we were on. We weren’t.

  11. Krishna says:

I truly do not understand swapping a celebrity for the Merchant of Death. I really don’t get it. And, I will leave it at that.

    • Not really a celebrity, just a basketball player that only became a celebrity because she got arrested in Russia. Oh right she doesn’t like the National Anthem played at the games she plays in. So I guess that does make her a celebrity.

      • Krishna says:

I don’t give a shit it if you call her basketball player, semantics to me. Michael Jordan was a celebrity or just a basketball player…who the fuck cares. She was one of the best, if not best, in the WNBA.

Sports is an entertainment business, thus I think celebrity-type….lol

I wonder what the liberal “Time Magazine Person of the Year” thinks about this move by Obama/Biden? I thought we didn’t deal with terrorists, and Obama/Biden has consistently called Putin’s Russia a terrorist regime. What precedence does this set for future kidnapping/jailing of Americans overseas?

My (least) favorite guy in the world (MBS) was the one who negotiated this trade, not Obama/Biden… blood is involved (see Jamal Khashoggi, RIP).

And in the meantime, a real American hero (Paul Whelan) is still rotting away in Russian labor camps.

The message sent to the world? Obama/Biden care more about a black, lesbian, weed-smoking, anti-American, knee-taking, near-defunct league WNBA player who NOBODY even knows what team she plays for… than for somebody who put their life on the line for our freedoms… in order to unleash via a prisoner exchange a former top-10 wanted man in the entire world (Viktor Bout)… who had a fucking Hollywood MOVIE made about him(!)… to assist Vladimir Putin as winter sets into Ukraine.

Are we SERIOUSLY okay with this, America?

By Jove, even communist CNN has expressed dismay over this one!!! WOW!!!

    • mf13ss says:

WHO IS DOING THE BIDDING OF PUTIN?!! Between ‘Uranium 1’, the Biden’s (kickbacks from Moscow) and today’s news, I think it’s pretty fucking CLEAR!!!

    • Krishna says:

    • Ken says:

An American came home. It’s a good day. And yes Paul Whelan needs to come home too. Victor Bout is an irrelevant figure after 13 years in prison

      • mf13ss says:

I’m with ya up until ya said Victor Bout is an irrelevant figure after 13 years in prison… Bro, it doesn’t work that way, and ya know it.

I’m not mad at Brittany Griner for coming home (she’s an American, yes)… I’m mad that Whelan wasn’t included, MBS brokered the deal, and Obama/Biden are fucked up.

      • Ken says:

The Russians weren’t going to give up Whelan at this point. What are we supposed to be. Let Grenier sit there? Victor Boutis irrelevant in that his organization is gone. His job as an arms supplier has been usurped by others. Leaders have come and gone. It is a different world than it was 13 years ago. Bout won’t have the influence he once did. He is still a shithead who should be in jail but he was a necessary piece to get an American home

      • steveccnv says:

It’s not a good day, you replace a mass murderer with someone that broke the law

        Why should either be out?

We’re 3-1 in games that Wilson Jr has scored a touchdown…so

  17. mf13ss says:

    Ken,

I would ask you… why did Putin and MBS want Victor Bout back so badly, so as to make such a high-profile trade for what we’ll call an international superstar (I’m giving Griner too much credit)?

And equally as important… why did MBS get involved so as to make it happen?

  18. Krishna, I don’t know anyone who tells me did you see that WNBA game the other night. It’s not a popular sport. I don’t know any women who follow it. I didn’t know who Brittany Griner was until she was arrested in Russia. She’s not on Michael Jordan’s level. LOL

    • steveccnv says:

      She is in her mind

    • Krishna says:

Sorry you and your friends don’t take in or value women’s sports….lol. Not sure how to respond to that as I was pretty sure you had an open mind.

Kinda like an open mind watching women’s USA soccer winning World Cups while the men’s team hasn’t won shit but makes 10x’s the money….carry on…lmao

      • Krishna, back off! The WNBA is not popular. The NHL is the 4th major sport. I don’t decide these things. It is what it is. The free market and what people gravitate too. That’s like complaining that death metal bands don’t make as much as Springsteen. LOL

      • Krishna says:

You are wrong TK…just because you have a limited man’s view of sports and its money doesn’t discount the talented women’s sports and those that enjoy all sports in all genders….so fuck off…lol

The answer is that the Raiders’ holder isn’t placing the ball in the tee but on the tee, which improves hang time on kickoffs.

Yet the Rams are returning kicks mostly past the 25 and Raiders continue kicking it short

  23. randydolfan1947 says:

KEN; A dear friend of mine (who is a recently retired full bird colonel) told me some interesting things about Putin at a recent luncheon held to honor those who served. Our spooks have told us that, until recently, Putin was regarded as a balanced man who carefully weighed all options until about two years ago. Then, as reports circulated that Putin was fighting a certain disease, his judgement went askew. He’s now considered by U.S. intelligence to be a spur-of-the-moment guy who has become far less predictable. This, of course, makes him more likely to “push the envelope” on issues like the war in Ukraine. My friend has no idea how all of this will play out. But, he says the top brass is preparing for several different eventualities, including what’s likely to happen in the event that Putin succumbs to his disease. He looked me in the eye and said “This whole event could have an ending that few, if any, saw coming.”

I was truly honored to attend this little get-together of veterans during the late ’60’s and early ’70’s. It was NOT held in 2020 or 2021 because of covid considerations. Most of us are AT LEAST in our late 60’s. One is in his 90’s and is a veteran of WW2.

Years ago I would decline such invitations. But I’ve learned, over the years, that certain get togethers now seem to have more meaning to me. I guess I’m getting a little more philosophical about the nuances of serving your country.

    And that’s a good thing.

    Mr. Campbell,

For the record, I am NOT happy that Putin got some reinforcements. Bad trade, IMO. I wish we could get some reinforcements on our front lines. Hopefully, Eric Fisher fits the bill, man.

    • randydolfan1947 says:

MF13; Sadly, we continue to short change our O-Line. NOT A SINGLE draft choice this year for the O-Line. And NO first round draft choice in the upcoming draft. So our options remain limited.

WHAT are the chances Armstead plays this Sunday??

  26. Krishna, it’s not my opinion, it’s the market. For years I thought some bands and artists should have been more popular. But they didn’t capture the majority. They sometimes just survived as an underground band with a following. I didn’t decide any of that. I’m simply stating what I see.

I have nothing against women’s sports. I watched my daughter play softball and basketball. We rooted the same way we would for the dudes. It doesn’t go much further than that after college though. It’s not in my control.

    • Krishna says:

TK, you keep using popularity as your argument for celebrity status. If that is your only measuring stick then there is no sport on the planet that is more popular than soccer. Therefore, no other sport can have celebrity players. They are all sports dudes and men athletes. That’s fucking ridiculous.

Further, you’re comparing garage bands with those that “made it”. That is an apples to oranges comparison or look-over-there remark. One, you seem to be saying musicians can be celebrities, athletes (especially women) cannot, and two you’re comparing shit to those at the top of their profession, i.e. achieved celebrity status.

Griner was and is a legend in the WNBA, like it or not or fucking look it up, and was instrumental in it’s success from the beginning, but you wouldn’t know that because you only watch football and baseball. Apelike thinking (not you CK), imo, narrow-minded, and you come across as chauvinistic. I won’t even comment on the distasteful remark you made about your daughter, except to say it was distasteful to me.

This summarizes your position: You can’t be a woman celebrity in sports because you don’t watch women’s sports and apparently not enough people do either even if they are one the best at what they do. Wow!!! Just wow.

This is the fucking definition of chauvinism and why the Feds stepped in with Title IX for colleges and universities. You must have missed that memo from 50 years ago…lol.

Because you’re claiming ignorance, and to educate you, more people in the US watch women’s soccer than men’s soccer. And, only recently has the men’s soccer organization agreed to split money purses equally with the women. That’s a fucking game changer for the women athletes, but how would you know?

Lol…did you know there are popular women soccer players that have reached celebrity status? I will let you look up who they are, if you’re interested, as I’ve named a few.

About the only thing you can control TK is you and even then….

…all because you don’t think women athletes can be celebrities because women aren’t popular..lol, but Bruce Springsteen can be….omfg, lol!

I get your point TK, and now I understand why you don’t get mine. Fair enough.

And, I will say it again, I was disgusted with trading a celebrity for the Merchant of Death!
