MM quit calling plays your timing sucks

  2. CavalierKong's avatar CavalierKong says:

All 3 2nd half TOs we had to call because we can’t get the play in

  3. The Flying Pig's avatar The Flying Pig says:

How long does it take to call a QB sneak

  4. steveccnv's avatar steveccnv says:

    That’s horrible

  5. bookman11's avatar bookman11 says:

    Enjoy the day!!!!

  6. CavalierKong's avatar CavalierKong says:

We legitimately had a chance to win this game and our inability to get the play in timely cost us.

ALL 3 TOs IN THE 2nd HALF

  7. steveccnv's avatar steveccnv says:

We weren’t winning the SB, but a win would’ve been nice

  8. steveccnv's avatar steveccnv says:

If you can’t get the play in don’t huddle, even after a penalty

    • CavalierKong's avatar CavalierKong says:

3 TOs in the 2nd half, and about a half dozen that were so close they could have been called delays.

What an unbelievable way to lose.

  9. Brian in NY's avatar Brian in NY says:

MM needs to work on his game management

  10. The Flying Pig's avatar The Flying Pig says:

    That’s not a first down

    Officials exposing themselves

  11. CavalierKong's avatar CavalierKong says:

Doesn’t matter now, but I felt the Waddle spot was about half a yd short

  12. steveccnv's avatar steveccnv says:

  13. manitobafinfan's avatar manitobafinfan says:

Well played , with some poor decisions and timely penalties… restock for next year

  14. Mike E.'s avatar Mike E. says:

Tough break, but odds were slim for the win even if we got the ball

  15. Wyoming85's avatar Wyoming85 says:

Well they didn’t lay down and whine about the circumstances!

  16. CavalierKong's avatar CavalierKong says:

Players played pretty great in adverse conditions. Too bad our offensive play calling issues cost us a chance at the win.

  17. Mike E.'s avatar Mike E. says:

We played a very valiant game. Shame we couldn’t have a healthy #1, but still a thriller of a game

  18. The Flying Pig's avatar The Flying Pig says:

That was our best postseason performance in a few decades

  19. randydolfan1947's avatar randydolfan1947 says:

    HELLUVA EFFORT BY MIAMI.
It will be an interesting off-season.

  20. Mike E.'s avatar Mike E. says:

I was texting with friends of mine and wondering how Skylar Thompson who had 2 weeks if 1st team reps in practice was never given a hurry up package or 2 minute drill handful of plays to run. Waiting for plays to be sent in was preposterous, it killed us all day. Mostly it ruined our last drive, and if he had a handful of plays to run, that doesn’t happen

    • manitobafinfan's avatar manitobafinfan says:

Can only prep a guy so much 🤷‍♂️😕

      • Mike E.'s avatar Mike E. says:

No, I don’t believe that for a second. They can be simple plays, Skylar has played the game, he was a starter in college. I’m sure it’s not beyond his comprehension

  21. Mike E.'s avatar Mike E. says:

Going forward with this team, the most important issue is who our QB is next season. We need to have that worked out sooner than later. Do we need to try and get a starter or just a good backup. I’m hoping it’s just a solid backup

  22. CavalierKong's avatar CavalierKong says:

I am rather surprised how pissed I still am considering I had us losing by two scores.

If we tried a QB sneak on 4th and they stopped us, I could live with it and say well done to the Bills. But to not even be able to run a play on 4th and 1 after having issues all game, I really feel like MM let the team down.

    • CavalierKong's avatar CavalierKong says:

We were 15 yards from a game-tying fg

    • Brian in NY's avatar Brian in NY says:

I’m pissed we didn’t win but I’m not pissed at the team.

      • CavalierKong's avatar CavalierKong says:

I thought it was a really strong performance. I’m not even mad we lost. I’m mad at losing because of mechanical issues with getting the play calls in.

I called this shit out in week 3 against the Bills and a few more times over the next few weeks that McDaniel was too lackadaisical in his two minute playcalling and letting the clock run and getting the call in late.

The issues you have during the season end up being magnified in the post season and it legitimately cost us the game today after a herculean performance by the players.

  23. Krishna's avatar Krishna says:

I don’t know….I thought Skylar was the issue on calling the play, getting up the line, NEVER any urgency….lotty da.

I don’t think he had ANY situational awareness…..

….but he’s our 3rd string 7th round draft pick with little to no NFL experience.

  24. Krishna's avatar Krishna says:

    No moral victory for me….

  25. Krishna's avatar Krishna says:

And does the fucking Oline know how to count….wtf?

  26. Brian in NY's avatar Brian in NY says:

I agree with that about the spot Kong. Waddle never hit the ground when he was I tially tackled, he did a somersault over the Bills players body and landed MAYBE. A yard shy of the first down.

  27. Krishna's avatar Krishna says:

Waddle’s drop in the first series and next 3 are ridiculous…wtf.

    All pro WR dropping balls…lol

  28. bailbondmike's avatar bailbondmike says:

Damn, I basically missed the last 4 minutes of the game. I had to write a bond. Tried watching out the corner of my eye but then kept fucking up the paperwork. You can’t make any mistakes on a bond or you have to void it and rewrite it. Dudes name (public info) is Jeffry Malbranche St. Louis. I kept writing Jeffery. Tried to squeeze the e in there but fucked it up. Then I got that right and I fucked up the case number. I couldn’t focus. lol

  29. bailbondmike's avatar bailbondmike says:

I am really proud of this team. No hangover Monday for me.

  30. Mike E.'s avatar Mike E. says:

It’s amazing really that our best players on offense this entire season had nearly no positive impact on this game at all, Hill, Waddle, Mostert, and we scored 31 points and lost by a FG

  31. Krishna's avatar Krishna says:

Sorry, the QB is standing on the line surveying the scene, that means you look at clock and get the ball off….at 5-7 plays standing set the line and doing what?

  32. Krishna's avatar Krishna says:

    …at least 5-7 plays

  33. bailbondmike's avatar bailbondmike says:

    How many drops this game?

Wonder how we stack up with the rest of the league in dropped balls this season. We have to be in the top 5 for dropped balls.

    • CavalierKong's avatar CavalierKong says:

I’m pretty sure last time I looked late in the season we were either at the top of the league or near the top in drops.

Edmonds was really terrible. Waddle seems to have the dropsies like every 3rd game. Jeff Wilson had a couple of big drops this year.

Another problem that got magnified in the postseason.

  34. Krishna's avatar Krishna says:

2 interceptions deep in own territory with other receivers wide open leading to short field TDs

    • bailbondmike's avatar bailbondmike says:

? First INT was a prayer thrown up to end the first half in Buff territory.

      • CavalierKong's avatar CavalierKong says:

That wasn’t an INT. His 1st INT was the bponehead throw deep in our territory on I believe our 2nd possession (might have been the 3rd).

    • Krishna's avatar Krishna says:

…here we go with semantics and puppy dog analysis….both interceptions led to Bills TDs…..lol….oh but it’s ok because…lol

1:25 in 1st quarter, TD by Allen after Skylar interception…

  35. Krishna's avatar Krishna says:

    D came to play….STs didn’t fuck up…lol

  36. Brian in NY's avatar Brian in NY says:

    Krishna,

I would assume he was trying to see what defense they were in

    • Krishna's avatar Krishna says:

Of course, but at some point you have be aware and I didn’t see much

    • CavalierKong's avatar CavalierKong says:

Plus guys need to be set, we usually have motion that needs to be run, etc.

The QB needs a certain amount of time to get the play off, and our offense was consistently getting out of the huddle late.

      • Brian in NY's avatar Brian in NY says:

Right. I saw it more of a problem getting plays in, not necessarily Skylar not getting them off in time. MM needed to do a better job getting plays in quicker.

      • CavalierKong's avatar CavalierKong says:

That is the way I see it too. I can’t remember how many times this game we saw the clock running down and they hadn’t broken huddle yet. It’s possible Thompson was having issues in the huddle, but the problem was we were breaking the huddle too late too often. When you run as much motion as we do, it’s harder to just get up and hike it.

It happened a lot this year. McDaniel even addressed this issue after a game where it was particularly bad (can’t remember which game it was).

We’ll see what MM says. Maybe there were communication issues. I did see him screwing with his equipment during one timeout, like it was giving him problems.

  37. Krishna's avatar Krishna says:

It’s not a knock on Skylar, these are observations about a very inexperienced QB who also holds the ball too long and doesn’t see the field….it’s ok but he has a long way to go

  38. bailbondmike's avatar bailbondmike says:

Will be interesting how they put next years team together with a (right now) negative cap and only 38 players on contract. Spotrac shows -9mil.

  39. bailbondmike's avatar bailbondmike says:

Byron Jones either restructures or is a goner. Post Jun 1 cut we save 13.6mil with 4.7mil dead money. Bye Bye

    • CavalierKong's avatar CavalierKong says:

He’s a 14.8 dead cap if we cut him pre 6-1, then we’re free and clear. Or he’s only a 4.7 2023 hit if we cut him post 6-1, with another 10 mil dead in 2024.

So we have options on how we treat him. If we really need the extra cap space in 2023 we can designate him a post 6-1 and push off some of that hit.

    • bailbondmike's avatar bailbondmike says:

Gotcha, didn’t look at the whole picture.

  40. Krishna's avatar Krishna says:

Both playcaller and QB are responsible for play time management…..you can’t blameor the other, it’s both or no one’s fault

  41. Krishna's avatar Krishna says:

COACH! You need to get me the plays faster, I need more time beause I’m too slow….lol

  42. bailbondmike's avatar bailbondmike says:

Our top 5 players account for almost half next years cap. Hill, Chubb, Armstead, Byron Jones and Ogbah account for $110,298,488 of next years cap.

  43. Ken's avatar Ken says:

If Tua was healthy we win that game and relatively comfortably

  44. Krishna's avatar Krishna says:

Now that the season is over, I can’t imagine what we do at QB…

…even with Skylar, we did score 24 points on Bills D…..

….don’t think the play calling is an issue as much as it is execution

  45. CavalierKong's avatar CavalierKong says:

Well this explains why one of the calls by MM came in so late.

Refs should have reset the playclock then. I don’t recall if they did or not.

    • Krishna's avatar Krishna says:

Hmmm…seems wanting to blame MM doesn’t work here….I wonder how many other times it doesn’t

….also both playcaller and QB, imo, are responsible for down time management…

      • CavalierKong's avatar CavalierKong says:

You are saying Skyler wasn’t getting the ball snapped in time and that is flatout wrong. I said we weren’t getting out of the huddle in time and put that on McDaniel.

McDaniel explains below why we weren’t getting out of the huddle below. Compounding issues, not all McDaniel’s fault, but it defintiely had zero to do with Skyler not snapping the ball at the line because he didn’t have enough time once they broke the huddle.

  46. stangerx's avatar stangerx says:

With our 3rd string QB we lost by 3 to the Bills in Buffalo with Vegas giving people 13/14 points to get people to bet on the Phins.

All considered, was one of our best games of the year.

  47. Mike E.'s avatar Mike E. says:

Hard to say we win if we had Tua, everything changes though, including the Bills gameplan and intensity. It would have been a totally different game altogether. More than likely though, we would have been better offensively

  48. CavalierKong's avatar CavalierKong says:

McDaniel addresses the issues in the huddle at the beginning of his press conference. Call it compounding issues. That is why we were constantly late getting out of the huddle. Crowd noise, getting the call right in the huddle to all the new players, plays getting in late, and the 4th down was called a 1st.

    • Krishna's avatar Krishna says:

…..getting the call right in huddle is what I kept noticing….Skylar looked like he was thumbing through a catalog….and didn’t know what he was looking for…lol

      • CavalierKong's avatar CavalierKong says:

Now you saw issues in the huddle? What happened to he wasn’t getting the snap off at the line?

    • steveccnv's avatar steveccnv says:

BS, it was no different with Tua

MM needs get rid of those long play names and get the play in quicker, at 30 seconds he’s still looking at his play sheet

      Let someone else call plays

      • Krishna's avatar Krishna says:

You didn’t see Skylar reading his arm and flipping through the plays….lol…ok

      • CavalierKong's avatar CavalierKong says:

It’s been a problem all year. McDaniel specifically addressed it earlier in the year after a particularly bad game. It didn’t just start today. It got exacerbated because of playoff atmosphere. Like I said earlier, problems get magnified in the playoffs.

  49. bailbondmike's avatar bailbondmike says:

I’ll take Skylar and the cheap contract. Bridgewater was supposed to be the savvy vet back-up…. was he
    —————-
Need an upgrade over Skylar. He can’t run this offense. He just can’t read the field quick enough

    • bailbondmike's avatar bailbondmike says:

You suggest another Vet backup? Another rookie will more than likely put us in the same boat. Not too many Purdy’s out there. LOL

    • Krishna's avatar Krishna says:

Very inexperienced and that’s why it took him so long to call the play in the huddle, get everyone lined up, see the coverage and go….

….same issue with holding on to ball and running around and not finding the open receiver…he started his throw multiple times only to pull it back…

….he wasn’t sure in any aspect of the game including calling plays in huddle and lining up

      4 false starts….

    • stangerx's avatar stangerx says:

Guess it depends on how much you want to pay. Know Terry B is no better than Skylar though.

  52. CavalierKong's avatar CavalierKong says:

I’m still listening to the press conference. At the end, McDaniel says he’s not even sure it was the refs that told him 1st down. It may have been in his headset and he was under the assumption it was a 1st.

    • CavalierKong's avatar CavalierKong says:

Another problem that needs to be fixed is whoever MM has in the booth relaying this type of info to him. We were terrible with our challenges this year and that is oftenmore about the team you have relaying info, not the HC.

If he had somebody tell him 1st down on that play, that is more bad intel.

  53. steveccnv's avatar steveccnv says:

Every game I watch I see TEs wide open making catches, then getting YAC, we get neither

  54. Mike E.'s avatar Mike E. says:

There’s a lot of time between now and next season, so Skylar has plenty of time to digest the offense, and get better at processing. He could be a decent enough backup, but I’d feel better with a guy like Gardner Minshew. I kind of felt that way with Teddy Bridgewater and we all know how that worked out

    • bailbondmike's avatar bailbondmike says:

Minschew would not be a bad option, IMO.

I think that Cooper kid from Dallas is also a FA next year. I think I get the right name. There are a boatload available. The ones who don’t stick anywhere for very long.

  55. Krishna's avatar Krishna says:

Lots to learn for the first time HC. He needs better support on the sideline for sure

    ————-
Absolutely need a Vet. Ideally it would be Jimmy G. He is the perfect insurance for Tua but he is likely to be looking for a starting opportunity. Ditto Geno Smith

    • Mike E.'s avatar Mike E. says:

Jimmy G wants to be a starter. He won’t come here if we say Tua is the starter. What’s worse than having a starting QB who can’t stay healthy? Having a starter and a backup that can’t stay healthy. Can’t imagine why you want Jimmy G.

  59. CavalierKong's avatar CavalierKong says:

I think McDaniel will get the playcalling mechanical issues fixed in the offseason. We had problems with it all year and he specifically mentioned the length of the playcalls and the time it takes sometimes after a game where it was a big problem with Tua at QB.

It was worse today because of a playoff atmosphere and some of the new faces on offense, and yes, that includes the QB.

I can move my position part way and admit that at least some of those late breaking huddles were very likely because a rookie QB was back there, lol.

    • steveccnv's avatar steveccnv says:

Save 5-7 seconds by using no huddle

    • Krishna's avatar Krishna says:

Lol….and I will say it’s both again, NOT one or the other takes all the blame.

And, I agree MM will find a way to “shorthand” the info….

…but you need the nuances for plays to be successful….

      • CavalierKong's avatar CavalierKong says:

“…NOT one or the other takes all the blame.”

Now that I have calmed down and am a bit more measured, I can agree with this statement, lol, even if we likely still differ on how much that blame should be distributed between them.

I want to keep Skyler at #3. He’s a rookie. Yeah, he isn’t seeing the windows quick enough to make plays enough, but let’s give him some time to develop.

I’d love to get Jimmy G to back up Tua, but he’s going to watnt to go somewhere he can start.

After the performance today, you have to give this group another shot.

I have even moved my position on Boyer. That was a heck of a game by the defense after a couple of really good games against NE and the Jest. All when we really needed it. I’d still fire Crossman though.

  64. Mike E.'s avatar Mike E. says:

BB Mike, I liked the way Stidham played this season.

  65. Krishna's avatar Krishna says:

Good point Steve….I don’t remember one no-huddle play call….we’re there any?

  66. Ken's avatar Ken says:

Did Boyer do enough to save his job today? Best defensive effort of the season imo

    • Krishna's avatar Krishna says:

NOOOO!!!!! We lost 3 and 5 games in a row and D had plenty of blame in most

    • CavalierKong's avatar CavalierKong says:

Did I imagine it, or did I hear them say at the beginning of the broadcast the Dolphins D was the best in the league over the last 4 or 5 games?

      • CavalierKong's avatar CavalierKong says:

I have done a 180 on Boyer. I’m giving him another year and firing Crossman about 2 and a half hours ago, lol.

      • Krishna's avatar Krishna says:

Does anyone realize it’s a 17 game season???? WTF? 4-5 games means nothing over a 17 game span…lmao

The lowest yards per game last 3 weeks of the season

      • CavalierKong's avatar CavalierKong says:

Thanks, Ken. I knew I heard something like that but wasn’t sure. Jest and Pets aren’t exactly worldbeating offenses, but like I said, with the way the defense finished, I’m giving him another year.

      • Krishna's avatar Krishna says:

Jets suck, Patriots suck….don’t remember the 3rd game, and this one?…that’s no fucking endorsement….lol

  68. bailbondmike's avatar bailbondmike says:

If Tenn QB Hendon Hooker falls to the 3rd round this draft because of his ACL tear, I am taking him.

  69. Krishna's avatar Krishna says:

Pass D this year was terrible…bottom of the league this season…endorsement?

Allen threw for over 300 yards today and ran for a TD….hell no

    • Ken's avatar Ken says:

They beat the shit out of Allen today

      • Krishna's avatar Krishna says:

One game, Ken. See my next post….also it’s a 17 game season

      • CavalierKong's avatar CavalierKong says:

Our defense played great today. It’s the difference between knowing what happened on the field vs just looking at a stat.

Allen is one of the top 3 QBs in the league. When he is on, you can’t keep him shut down, you can only hope to contain, get some big stops, and have an offense that can keep up. Our defense not only made plenty of stops, but also scored a TD and our offense gave the Bills a few short fields for easy scores.

      • CavalierKong's avatar CavalierKong says:

And our defense made Allen look pedestrian today.

  70. Krishna's avatar Krishna says:

Boyer’s D did same thing last year! Decided last 6 games of season, he better get his D ready and fucking game plan….probably so he wouldn’t get fired….wtf kind of endorsement is that?

  71. Mike E.'s avatar Mike E. says:

The defense was fantastic today. This wouldn’t even be a game unless we got that performance from it

  72. CavalierKong's avatar CavalierKong says:

    Good question.

    Same thing happened last year.

  73. steveccnv's avatar steveccnv says:

Lol at Vikings 11-0 this year in 1 score games losing 31-24

  74. CavalierKong's avatar CavalierKong says:

Not surprised Minny went out in the first rd.

  75. Krishna's avatar Krishna says:

ONE game! A rivalry game at that…you better no how to game plan against your rivals….lol

If you want to endorse a coach after ONE good game out of 18, so be it…lol

  76. Krishna's avatar Krishna says:

Lol…because he asked it after I did? Good question Ken….lol

    • Krishna's avatar Krishna says:

That was to CK? I’ve asked all the questions and Ken comes around and asks them again an they’re good…lol

      • CavalierKong's avatar CavalierKong says:

You haven’t asked that question. And you have made it clear you don’t care about the answer to that question. You just want to move on.

      • Krishna's avatar Krishna says:

My 7:35 post specifically addresses ‘why was it just today’ as in ‘Boyer did same thing last year’…..why does Boyer’s D show up toward end of season or for last 3 games against shit teams….lol

      • Krishna's avatar Krishna says:

Then, at 7:36 post I point out it’s ONE game….lol

      • Krishna's avatar Krishna says:

I guess my opinion or question doesn’t count since you just move on to other comments

      • CavalierKong's avatar CavalierKong says:

Right, you are pointing out it was one game and you don’t care about reasons why and you want to move on. You aren’t asking the question ‘why’? You have stated you want to move on multiple times.

Well Ken asked the question and has stated he is now on the fence with Boyer. He cares about the answer to that question, or at least I think it’s a good question because I care about the answer to that question and wonder if it’s something that can change.

      • Krishna's avatar Krishna says:

I asked the question multiple times and gave examples and reasons for moving on and because of ONE good game you’ve done a 180….like Ken.

I don’t see one-offs as convincing evidence to save a job….I am evaluating the season and last year. The basis for moving on and it’s stated and questioned pretty clearly.

I am not hanging my hat on a ONE game evaluation but you are doing 180s. OK.

      • CavalierKong's avatar CavalierKong says:

It wasn’t just one good game. Right up the board we talk about the last 3 games of the seaosn and the playoff game.

        Fantastic job today.
        Awesome job last week.
        Good job two weeks ago.
Apparently good job 3 weeks ago (I didnt watch it, going by what they said today).
        Awesome job in week 1.
Awesome job in the Steelers game.
Awesome job in the first Bills game.
Awesome job at the end of the year when it matters most.

They had their moments. These things aren’t static. I’d rather have a team that plays great defense at the end of the year and the playoffs than one that plays good most of the year, then blows it the last month.

I called out the D to win the Jest game. They did. I called for a good defensive performance today to give us a chance. They gave it to us.

That is enouogh for me. You’ve made it clear it isn’t enough for you. Not much more to say unless you want to keep saying “it was one game” over and over.

We sacked Josh Allen 8 times. Bet that has NEVER happened before. Yeah, he threw for 300 against X, Holland and 3 backup DB’s. He also threw 2 picks.

    Awesome job defense!

  78. Krishna's avatar Krishna says:

Everyone at BEGINNING of the year wondered if this Boyers D or Flores and does Boyer have the chops to run a top 10 D this year or top half.

The answer is NO. One game does not make a season.

  79. manitobafinfan's avatar manitobafinfan says:

Any of you see or hear about this ??

Despite being at the forefront of an embarrassing display of time management that essentially handed the game over to the Bills, McDaniel was the focus of the internet’s attention for appearing to vape on the Dolphins sideline in the middle of a playoff game.

You can view the video here.

In the video, it appears McDaniel is discreetly hitting the vape after moving his headset to the side — hiding the device in a black glove.

I’m extraordinarily proud of our Phins this season. We damn near defeated the preseason Super Bowl favorites today with our 3rd-string QB, no Mostert, a banged-up O-Line, a decimated Secondary, dropsies from our WRs, more bad officiating, a rookie NFL HC, in the cold, on the road, and as 14-point underdogs…

3 (THREE) POINTS AWAY from sending it to OT! Not too shabby at all!

In 3 games against the heavy Super Bowl favorites this year (the Bills), they cumulatively outscored us by a mere 4 (FOUR) points!

We’ve got something to build upon, y’all!

Yeah, sucks that we lost today, but I think the whole team and our fanbase deserve to hold their heads up high after all the injuries, BS zebra calls, and a brand-new Offensive system installed.

    Guess what, NFL? WE’RE BACK!!!
    GO PHINS!!!
    HELL YEAH!!!

  82. Grier, McDaniel, Boyer and Tua are back. Skylar is the backup.

  83. Ken's avatar Ken says:

Does anyone care who wins tonight? I kind of hate both teams

  84. Krishna's avatar Krishna says:

Ok….CK….obviously you’ve seen enough in 17 games but make it sound like there are special games where D needs to show up….they were all special when the D played well….

When the D didn’t play well, it didn’t matter because it wasn’t a special game.

I am looking at 2 seasons of Boyer’s game planning and adjustments, and only this game made you do a 180….as you stated.

    • Krishna's avatar Krishna says:

And, as you stated Jets and Pat’s aren’t offensive juggernaut….and looking up the GB game as the 3rd, I wouldn’t consider that a dominant D performance either….

….big plays were given up all year long on D….today was the best game of the season and actually quite surprising considering their season history.

    • CavalierKong's avatar CavalierKong says:

There are special games the D needs to show up. But those aren’t the only game the D showed up this year. You are the one that keeps talking about it’s 17 games, but you keep dismissing the other games the D played well as if they don’t matter. If you’re looking at 17 games, then it wasn’t only one game. I listed some of the games they played from good to great this year.

And it wasn’t just this game that made me do a 180 on Boyer. It was the cumulitive last few weeks. I only announced I’ve done a 180 after this game because I wanted to see the D play well this game on top of what they did the last 3 or 4 weeks. If they’d played well against the Pack, Pets, and Jest, then laid an egg in the playoffs, I’d still be moving on. But they played well at the end of the year and continued into the playoffs.

The D put up some of their best performances when the season was on the line. That matters to me.

      • Krishna's avatar Krishna says:

It matters to me how the D shows up for the season, and for the last 2 seasons and I stated it multiple fucking times….lol….you keep ignoring everyone of these statements…omfg

      • Krishna's avatar Krishna says:

And, I fucking stated it before Ken asked the question after I asked the question….

…I’m done….you’re right…great D, great Boyer, nothing to see or question. D should stand pat….lol

      • CavalierKong's avatar CavalierKong says:

I’m not ignoring those statements. They don’t aren’t part of the arguement because I’m not challenging your desire or belief Boyer needs to go. I understand your reasoning. It is your opinion and you are entitled to it. I am not even saying you’re wrong.

I am defending my own reasoning for being ok giving Boyer another year. Also an opinion. I am pointing out the reasons I think this, and you want to keep arguing your point even though both of our positions have been stated. I’ll go as long as you want to.

I don’t see anything positive about Skylar’s performance. He was disappointing after the preseason he had
    ————
We must remember: when Skylar was playing in the preseason, he was up against backup players. Of course he looked better in the preseason than he did in the regular season and today in the playoffs, where he was playing against All-Pro players.

    • Ken's avatar Ken says:

I understand that but I still expect better than what what he delivered when he had to play. He is very slow in seeing the field. Both his ints were terrible decisions. His completion % was crap even taking drops into account.. You can’t win a big game with play like that

I loved watching Jim Leland smoke on the dugout steps after they outlawed smoking in the stadiums!

  87. Mike E.'s avatar Mike E. says:

Ken – this offense is built around Tua. Like I said earlier, Tua makes throws so quick, he knows where receivers are going to be and throws them open to that spot. You can’t expect Skylar to know all these routes so precisely that he can play like that after only 2 weeks of first team reps. It’s clear he was looking for the receivers to get separation and get open, that’s why he was holding the ball so long, and mostly too long. He’ll be a better player next season.

Yeah, man! I CANNOT root for an AFC East rival, either.

But remember this: IF the Bills win the Super Bowl this year, they only outscored us by a mere 4 points in 3 games… WE’RE BACK!!!

  89. Krishna's avatar Krishna says:

    I don’t know that we’re back….

We have a fragile QB who is a concussion away from ending his career (that is not hyperbole, but more than likely), a very inexperienced 3rd string QB, no real OL to speak of (coaching seems to be huge this year), a D with no identity (I asked the blog what the identity was and only got a “we played well against Bills”….lol) so Boyer’s a lock, and special teams that mostly sucked this year….lol.

I’m not that encouraged, but I remain hopeful.

I like the Bengals , as long as they aren’t in our way , also cheering for Jacksonville in the AFC… NFC eagles

  91. mf13ss's avatar mf13ss says:

Tua needs a new helmet (safer for concussions), learn to avoid the big hits (throw it away), and learn how to fall in a safer manner… he’s going to be fine after that.

  92. Krishna's avatar Krishna says:

We ended up a 9-9 team, 9-8 team before Bills tonight. If that’s back, that’s a very low expectation or definition of “back.”

  93. mf13ss's avatar mf13ss says:

    Krishna,

If I’m not mistaken, Tua has had a new OC every single year dating back to high school. This potent Offense is only going to get better in year 2 of Coach McDaniel. I’d call that something to get excited about! 😀

  94. Mike E.'s avatar Mike E. says:

M – maybe Tua needs a Bryan Cox neck pad so when he falls backwards his head won’t snap as much.

CK if it’s your opinion to do a 180 on Boyer based on the last 4 games of the season (like he did last year when we won the last 8 games of season and the D started coming on), fine. Like I said and apparently you finally understand, that is not reason enough for me to keep him. It is for you. Great.

    • CavalierKong's avatar CavalierKong says:

I have always understood your point. You stated it emphatically very early on in this conversation and you have stated it for weeks. Like I said, I was never challenging your opinion, only defending mine. Thankfully, it is you who apparently finally understands my position.

  96. Krishna's avatar Krishna says:

M13, I have NEVER questioned Tua’s talent ONLY his fragility…..if he’s not there for the playoffs, what’s the point?

    Mike E,

What’s your take on our ’22 season, Bro?

  99. Krishna's avatar Krishna says:

I would say our D has better talent than in recent years….overcoming Boyer’s inadequacies at strategy and game planning. That’s what I think we can build on, heal our talent, and find someone who can maximize it.

    • mf13ss's avatar mf13ss says:

Our whole Defensive problem has been not being able to rush the QB with 4 guys. As a result, we’ve relied on blitzing too often.

We traded for Chubb to remedy the problem and it’s helped somewhat… though even Chubb has been beaten up as of the last couple of weeks (hand: Chubb with clubbed hand).

It’s going to get much better next year!
