This was music to my ears, music I desperately wanted to hear. This fan is simply disgusted by all the negativity, the naysayers, know-it-all-neurosurgeon-fanboys from other teams, and really all the talking heads who were in lockstep with the fanboys. The Miami Dolphins basically just said STFU!!! Tua is our QB, in 2023, and at least through 2024 as well. Unless the Dolphins had information that Tua’s next big hit would be his last, and the man would need to retire, then this was the right thing to do. Tua is a winner, and if we had him the whole season, we could have been the #2 or #3 seed in the AFC. We might have had a BYE in the playoffs or played at home, with Tua starting. It didn’t happen, and it appears the Dolphins were very cautious with their young QB and perhaps a tad overprotective, but that was a move made for the future.
There is so much hate for this kid, yes, especially from our own Dolphins fanbase. For those people, Tua is too much of a risk, or to the extremists, not talented enough to win. To those imbeciles, I present Exhibit A. Tua’s record as the QB of the Miami Dolphins, 21-13. You’d have to go back as far as Chad Pennington in 2008 to find a more favorable W/L record. Unfortunately, Chad Pennington, 11-5 only made it one season before retiring. Knucklehead Dolphins fans will say “Tua had the best WR’s in the NFL, that’s why!”. OK, so he was 8-5 this season with Tyreek Hill and Jaylen Waddle. What about 2021, when it was Jaylen Waddle, a hobbled DeVante Parker for 10 games, Mack Hollins, Isaiah Ford, with the backfield of Myles Gaskin, Salvon Ahmed, Phillip Lindsay for 4 games, and Malcolm Brown. In 2020, it was a hobbled DeVante Parker for 14 games, Mack Hollins, Lynn Bowden Jr., Jakeem Grant etc. 21-13, not earthshaking, but it’s good for a .617 winning %, better than all but Chad Pennington, who did it for one season 14 years ago. Yet, some Dolphins fans will still sling arrows at Tua. Ridiculous!
Let’s take a different angle. Tua is a team player, a genuinely nice kid. He works as hard as anyone on the team, his HC Mike McDaniel loves him. Yes, we know that former Head Coach Brian Flores did not like Tua, but where the F is Brian Flores now, he with his nonsensical lawsuit against the NFL? Is he a Head Coach now? No! What Head Coach sabotages his own team because he doesn’t like the starting QB? Brian Flores. Flores pulled Tua out of games he struggled in, and that kind of tact shows a lack of confidence in a player, and in turn, stunts his development. Players need to play through adversity, but Flores didn’t allow Tua to grow. Despite Brian Flores, Tua grew anyway, and now with the confidence of his new HC, and the 3rd different offensive system, he flourished. 2023 will be the first time in Tua’s career that he will have the same offensive system in place to build upon.
People will mock Tua because of his injury history. People will laugh that he’s taking Jiu-Jitsu to learn how to protect his body when he’s hit and falls. Some people think that’s comical, that he’s a 25 year old man that should know to fall. How people can hate a person that is doing everything he can to be better at his craft, one that will work relentlessly to do so is beyond me. Personally, I feel bad for his detractors, I think they’re a sad bunch. Not since Dan Marino have we had a successful QB for more than one season. Tua was NUMBER ONE in QB passer rating last season (105.5). The QBR is the most comprehensive metric for a QB and Tua was the best! Better than Mahomes, Burrow, Herbert, Allen, ALL OF THEM! NUMBER ONE in yards per attempt (8.7). NUMBER ONE in yards per completion (13.1). There are 3 other categories that Tua was tops in, yet people still hate. It’s a ridiculous phenomenon that I believe only social media could breed.
I look forward to a great 2023 season with our Miami Dolphins. We’ve cleared lots of cap space, to the tune of $28M +, and will get an additional boost when we cut Byron Jones June 1st, to put us over $40M. We have a lot of guys I’d like to re-sign, this will enable that to happen. Elandon Roberts, Nik Needham, Raheem Mostert, Jeff Wilson, Brandon Shell and possibly even AVG, although I think he’s going to be playing elsewhere. There will likely be a surprise signing as well, but hopefully we’ll fill our roster out well in free agency and then the draft, and then again in free agency after the draft. Our team is close, on the cusp of being a legit playoff contender and more.
GO DOLPHINS!!!!

First.
“This fan is simply disgusted by all the negativity, the naysayers, know-it-all-neurosurgeon-fanboys from other teams, and really all the talking heads who were in lockstep with the fanboys.”
Amen, brother.
Sleepy Sunday I guess. We did set the clocks ahead last night for daylight savings time, maybe everyone is sleeping longer to make up for the lost hour.
Ooh, thanks for the reminder. I had no idea it was lose an hour day.
The Tua haters fly in the face of logic. Just no ‘spraining them or to them. “If it was good enuff for Granpappy, it’s good enuff for me!”
Legal tampering starts tomorrow. Going to get BUSY!

OMMFG!! My blood pressure is so high right now! Fight or flight nothing!! This is fight or fight!!!
Just spent 15 minutes talking to a Dolphins “fan” that is praying for Brady to come here. I am apoplectic I can’t stutter out a complete sentence!

😂
THE Front Office’s long term commitment to Tua means WE MUST PROVIDE HIM WITH IMPROVED PROTECTION FROM THE OFFENSIVE LINE!!!
———————
Last season ALL 3 OF MIAMI’S STARTING QUARTERBACKS SPENT TIME ON THE DISABLED LIST!!! That can be the price you pay for not paying enough attention to the O-Line. Yes, a few moves WERE made. But they weren’t enough, NOT NEARLY ENOUGH, to correct our decade long shorting of the offensive line.
——————–
I’d like to see MORE DISCUSSION of top offensive linemen who still might be available when Miami’s picking in the upcoming draft. And, of course, any discussion of free-agent or potential free agent pick-ups would also be appreciated. Now I realize much of this IS WILD SPECULATION and, maybe, not to be taken too seriously. But mind set IS IMPORTANT. And it’s quite obvious to this fan that upper management of the Dolphin organization HAS NOT spent enough time or effort on the mess at O-Line. MUCH MORE WORK needs to be done.
——————-
I’M SICK AND TIRED OF SEEING OUR QUARTERBACKS TAKEN OFF THE FIELD ON A STRETCHER OR BEING HELPED OFF THE FIELD WITH A SERIOUS INJURY!! This “Decade of Failure” must be reversed for Miami to get maximum production out of Tua!!
LET’s DO IT!!!
Great write up. I totally agree
Thanks Hulk!
THANKS, Ken! Hope everything is OK with you and your family.
Just finished my nearly 2-mile walk with our dogs.
It is unbelievable today in greater Tampa Bay. Highs near 78, low near 62 and not a cloud in the sky.
PS: I, TOO, liked your write-up very much, Mike E.
Our Dolphins have a lot of work to do.
Great write, Mike. I agree 100%.
Dolphins in talks to acquire Jalen Ramsey
It sounds like we’re trading for Jalen Ramsey.
Gonna be OD’s neighbor soon. Glad the NFL Ticket is moving to YouTube TV this year. Ain’t watching no stinking Bucs or Jags every week.
Pigs if you are out there. Thank you for making the connection on how I would feel about the Jets and Rodgers. I hate the Jets, and I hated that Rodgers beat us as a Packer. All of my fan hate will be directed at the Jets and that self centered Narcissistic , drama loving creep, not only (but especially) when we play them, but at all times.
Don’t hold back 🤡 tell us how you really feel 😊
Well then, let me be clear……..lol
Ramsey would certainly shore up the CB position, but at what cost? He has 3 years left on his contract with only $5M left guaranteed so he’s going to want a new contract.
No idea what the compensation is but all the talking heads said expect a contract restructure. We are the team Ramsey wanted to go to.
But I thought we were the team Lamar Jackson wanted to go to
But I thought we were the team Tom Brady wanted to go to
But I thought we were the team Dalvin Cook wanted to go to
I didn’t hear that Cook wanted to come here.
I wonder what they are giving up in picks. Question is who are they going to put at RT, LG, and ILB? If they do a new deal for Ramsey, they can make the 1st year cap friendly and use their cap space for someone else.
Wow Hunter Long is part of it.
Hunter Long finally earned his draft spot
LOL
Hunter Long? The same Hunter Long we watched for the last few seasons? OK, fine with me, take him!
^ 100 %
This is very interesting. I think it makes it a lot less likely that we re-sign Nik Needham, but this would really shore up that secondary.
Wow
So Jones for Ramsey, basically?
Sounds like a win for us then 👍
Ramsey has played in Fangio’s defense when Brandon Staley was the Rams DC. He ran the same scheme being he is a part of Fangio’s coaching tree.
https://platform.twitter.com/widgets.js
DAYYYYYYYUMMM!!!
Ramsey’s a Phin?!!
It’s an all in trade. 🙂
Damn right, man! We’re certainly are ALL-IN this year! And as Phelon stated above, we could restructure his contract to make it a small hit this year, thereby giving us the possibility to add yet ANOTHER stud!
Good time to be a PHIN!!!
I can’t stop laughing at Hunter “No Hands” Long being part of the deal
Right? What a weird player throw-in.
Not sure how I feel about this trade, the comp is fine, and we may be a nightmare throwing against with 2 int machines at CB, the potential problem is another huge contact, that will be pushed forward
I think Steve Ross is trying to replicate the Rams in their quest to buy/win a Super Bowl. We may have a two-year window before the whole thing needs to be either retooled or rebuilt altogether.
This is Steve Ross’ last chance to bring home a Lombardi Trophy for his franchise as he’s about to cash out.
I don’t think Ross is the lead on moves like this. This all in quest started when we traded for Hill and then Chubb.
Buffalo potentially losing Poyer and Edmunds, means we’re now in the conversation, more than any time in the last 20 years, to win the division
Allen’s cap hit going up 24m in 2023 and still being 19m over is another plus for us, let’s see how they handle the cap, cuts or restructures
Ramsey is also an excellent tackler and plays a hybrid LB at times.
The AFC East is going to continue to morph. The Jets will be trading for Aaron Rodgers in a day or so, so this division will still be a difficult challenge.
Insane, if jets get Rodgers, what the AFC West was supposed to be last year
I wonder how Aaron Rodgers feels about facing X and Ramsey twice a season, should he sign with the stej?
He might just change his mind or maybe he’s just playing games
I think he’ll be a Packer for life… like you said, I think he’s just playing games.
Wonder about Needham now, think Kohou maybe a better fit at nickel, being a better tackler
So long as we’re pushing all of our chips to the middle of the table, we might as well get after Dalvin Cook.
Just need X and Brandon to come back fully healthy, and we looking pretty good
Exactly!
Lol at Tyreek racing against sloooow competition
https://www.cbssports.com/nfl/news/look-dolphins-tyreek-hill-wins-60-meter-race-at-usa-track-and-field-masters-indoor-championships/
I think I’m going to purchase Madden Football this year! 😀
Yeah, but the offense is going to suck without Hunter Long 😂
Lol
😆
And we cut Cethan Carter .. OMG awe really are going to suck at TE
Hello Ross Dwelley
None of our TEs fit the system, maybe Smythe, but that’s it, and he wasn’t good last year
Rodgers’ options have seemingly narrowed to retirement or agreeing to join the New York Jets via trade after Packers team president Mark Murphy indicated Friday that Green Bay would like to move on from its longest-tenured player and all-time passing touchdowns leader to bring on the Jordan Love era
Let them trade for Rodgers, for 2 1sts, they’ll have to restructure him, he’ll play for 1 year and the jets will be stuck with 60m dead money
I think the Packers FO is going to do jumping jacks when Rodgers is finally off the team.
Me too, the jets will be tough next year, but after that they’ll be screwed
Agreed, Steve. Even with all his drama and seemingly not being focused, Rodgers instantly makes them a much better team. But I think he’s pretty much done with football, and is probably just giving it one more year to separate his retirement from Brady’s.
I do believe the Jets are going to have Aaron Rodgers. The Bills will still be a tough beat with or without Edmunds or Poyer, or both. The Jets will be a lot better (obviously) with A-Aron. The Patriots are in trouble, they have a lot of catching up to do.
I really hope the jets get Rodgers
I meant to say, nooooo not Hunter Long🥸
Wow – Jalen Ramsey
We didn’t give up too much – but his cap hit is gonna be huge
It depends on if we extend him and lower his cap hit this year to a small number… after which, we might not yet be done adding another high-priced FA.
We still have a 2nd and 3rd rounder for this year’s NFL Draft. I wonder how long we keep those picks before we trade for another player?
What if
big hypothetical here
Bijan Robinson drops below the top 25 picks
Would you trade out sole 2nd and 3rd to draft him?
I think I’d rather just go all-in with your FSU alum Dalvin Cook.
Bijan will make an impact as a rookie
I think so too, but I can’t see Bijan lasting past the top 25 picks.
You know what, it’s refreshing to me that Tua is included in that pic.
Yep!
^
Report is its up to Rodgers whether or not he wants to be a jet
i.e. whether he wants to throw 5-6 interceptions next year when he plays Dolphins twice
MF13,
I had just texted my brother-in-law a response to this trade that echoes your above analysis:
This reminded me of the Rams going all in, future be damned… and honestly, after decades and decades of irrelevance, I’m fine with this approach.
We have not shown that we can build a long term team through the draft, so just go for it.
The main thing that must accompany this approach is HEALTH for all of these big acquisitions. Healthy, and now well likely well coached!! and it doesn’t hurt to have guys on both sides of the ball who EXPECT to win. 🙂
You’ve got it, man! HEALTH is the #1 thing.
The window is only open so long where you can keep a lot of good players at the same time. The time for us is now – this year and next year. It doesn’t mean it all comes apart after that, but you’re going to lose some guys to FA or they’re not playing at the same level anymore.
With seemingly no TEs except Smythe, gotta figure our 2nd rd pick will be a TE.
Of course, the offseason is still young, maybe we can get Kelce and Kittle in trade. We still have players like Tanner Conner and Kion Smith we can dangle in trade talks, lol.
I’d just sign Hayden Hurst.
LOL! I think TE is a definite possibility with our 2nd. I’ll take Darnell Washington, thank you
IF we have a FA target, I honestly hope it is McGlinchey … I don’t trust our recent newbs still trying to get it going. Get the right side a proven professional then turn our attention to filling out roster and the draft. Done. Roll with what we got from there.
I would not be against the above move
Interesting… McGlinchey from Notre Dame, who knows this Offense due to working with Coach McDaniel in SanFran.
Spotrac has his market value at $14.8M/yr.
This would make Old Dolfan VERY happy!
It would go a long way to improving our run game in a way the McDaniels seems to want. Not sure about data, but just watching we certainly seemed to have success running to the left side much more than the right.
As Manitoba stated above, I wouldn’t be against this move, either. Makes sense to me. Sign him, and lower his cap-hit for the ’23 season.
Nice write Mike E ! I agree with you 100% and Holy Shit we’re getting Jalen Ramsey. I feel we are not close to being done in FA. I’m hoping we sign a stud Olineman or two.
Thanks 🐕!
Just think if we added Poyer in addition to Ramsey. How sick would that secondary suddenly be!
BALL HAWKS!!!
Cool! Get more players!
If Xavien Howard returns to form after dealing with groin issues all of last season, we now have the best CB tandem in Phins history, likely better than the legendary Pat Surtain and Sam Madison.
So, on June 1, we get 13.6 million back with the Jones cut. On top of that, we get another 1.1 million back with no dead money on the Long trade. So basically, THIS SEASON, we upgraded CB opposite X with Ramsey for 2.3 million. Next year we feel the pinch though.
I like it. I think it makes sense with the way this draft projection is panning out. They are talking 10 CB’s going in the first 40 picks. I think Grier and Co see that who they would want likely won’t be there at #51.
Either trade our 2nd and a 3rd to move up for a rookie CB prospect they want or trade a 3rd and a mistake for a pro bowl veteran CB.
The bottom line is we want to compete for a championship now. How could fans not be excited about that. We spend too much time worrying about the cap.
The funny thing is when we have a ton of cap space it’s so we can add good players. Then when we do it, people are worried about about not having a ton of cap. The business in the NFL is about adding good players and competing for a championship. Not rebuilding for 4-5 years and then guys become FAs and you have to replace some of them. Strike when the iron is hot.
Now let’s get the #1 blocking TE in the league. That would be Ross, and he’d be cheap.
Excuse me. That TE is Josh Oliver …6’5 260 … 25 y/o FA of the Ravens.
Ramsey had 18 passes defensed last season, plus 4 INT’s. He also had 2 FF’s and 1 FR, 88 tackles (64 solo) and 2 sacks Nice!
One thing this proves is they love having two top #1 corners and once again are willing to pay for them.
“ Ramsey is also getting a new contract as part of the trade, according to NFL Network. He will be on the Dolphins’ books for a fully guaranteed $36.9 million over the next two seasons. He did have three years left on his deal, though an opt-out was there for 2024. ”
I didn’t check the contracts, but have a feeling this will make X the 2nd highest paid CB on the team. Gonna be a problem for him when he is behind Ramsey rather than Jones?
The way he played last year should negate his desire to be the highest paid CB on the team.
X has been paid plenty of money now it’s time to win.
I was thinking that when he was getting $15 mil a year. Seems he disagreed. 🙂
Like everyone says, it’s a QB and WR driven league. So teams combat that with guys who can rush the passer and guys that can cover WRs.
Well I would now push CB down in the draft to the point where we don’t draft one at all. I’d rather sign a proven vet on the OL then target TE and RB in the draft. But lets see if we address those positions in FA as well. Maybe we can set up our draft to simply take the BPA as they fall to us.
Right now I’m thinking “What FA period”? But we could cut or restructure.
The Dolphins have been working on the Ramsey trade for about a month so there is a plan in place.
LOL
If Ramsey can be trusted to play up to his ability and not tank on us,
there is no CB we could’ve drafted anywhere near that good.
Why would he tank?
It’s going to be effin cool. Like BBMike said.. Can you imagine if we signed Poyer as well ? Him and Snowman as our last defense wouldn’t suck. 🐕
Getting Brandon Jones back healthy would be sweet too.
We have Kohou and getting Trill Williams back deepens our corners. Maybe Needham too because he likely won’t get big money coming off an Achilles injury.
We have one kick ass secondary. And we polished up so many diamonds out of the rough last season out of neccessity.
CBS Sport’s Garrett Podell grades the trade.
————————————
Trade grades
Dolphins: A
Acquiring a 28-year-old superstar who is one of only seven players in the entire league to make each of the last six Pro Bowls is a significant win. Ramsey was Pro Football Focus’ third-highest graded cornerback last season with a grade of 86.4, trailing only 2022 NFL Defensive Rookie Year of the Year and New York Jets cornerback Sauce Gardner (87.9) as well as Denver Broncos 2022 First-Team All-Pro cornerback Pat Surtain II (86.8).
To be able to rebound from the failed move that was cornerback Byron Jones’ five-year, $82.5 million contract to add Ramsey to a secondary with Pro Bowl cornerback Xavien Howard and their promising, 23-year-old safety Jevon Holland gives Miami one of the best defensive backfields in the entire NFL.
This is a big deal because the Dolphins will face Josh Allen’s Bills twice, Mac Jones with an actual offensive coordinator twice, and potentially Aaron Rodgers’ New York Jets twice.
Shoutout to general manager Chris Grier for maximizing the salary cap window provided by having starting quarterback Tua Tagovailoa on his rookie deal for two more seasons as he has added All-Pro wide receiver Tyreek Hill, Pro Bowl pass rusher Bradley Chubb, and Ramsey via trade in the last 365 days. The cap may not look as pretty following the 2024 season, but as Grier observed from the Rams, that’s tomorrow’s problem.
Exactly! This all started last year and we knew it was going to continue this year.
And last year I was saying not this year. This year I think they are going for it.
That’s what I’m saying. It started last year but once you make those moves you have to continue with it and we’re doing that. FA hasn’t started yet and we just got a lot better. Ramsey is one of the top defenders in the league.
Fangio is probably a very happy guy today. He likes to mix up his coverages and Ramsey plays outside/inside CB, S and LB.
Yup !! But we have to focus on O as well. McLovin will get his guys as well. 🐕
I think McDude is better. LOL
Or Mc Uhm.. Uhm.. Uhm 😎
Sorry man, He even looks like McLovin.
He gives lots of shits. LOL
Tim,
I’m thinking about trading one of my vintage guitars that I don’t play for a Telecaster that I would probably play more than my Les Paul, SG, Strat and others. What say you ? You like the Tele ?
I’ve only played a Tele in stores but I know a lot of guitarists who love them. My one friend built one from scratch. I’ve come to the conclusion that it’s one of the most underrated guitars. Lots of players love them. Hey Jimmy used one early on and then in the studio including the Stairway to Heaven solo. 🙂
I’ve played a few as well and you are right about being one of the most underrated, I just wish the price would reflect that analogy 😎🎸. It’s got such a unique sound and feels comfortable as hell.
Then you have the ones with the B-Bender. That’s a really unique thing.
Maurice Jones-Drew who is the radio color commentator for the LA Rams said Ramsey plays on every PR as a jammer and tries to block every FG and Xpt. He never wants to come off the field. He’s a baller and a top CB.
That’s great stuff.
Hoping he’s no Mario or Timmons for us.
I don’t think so.
Super Bowl champion (LVI)
3× First-team All-Pro (2017, 2020, 2021)
6× Pro Bowl (2017–2022)
PFWA All-Rookie Team (2016)
I don’t think so either. Rams were shit last year and he just kept balling. I am sure he is hyped as hell for this upcoming season and coming to a team that is on the upswing.
A lot of people think Myles Sanders is a target for us at RB.
I suppose cost is a factor now. I’m fine with running it back with Wilson Jr. And Mostert on one year deals. Sanders will be 4-5 years I would guess.
I have no idea, just sharing some stuff I’ve heard and read.
Heard that also. I would want to, at least, see Mostert back. He proved he is still a great RB. Mostert, Sanders and Ahmed would be nice. Then add a late round RB or a couple UDFA’s.
I am going to take a look at the late round and potential UDFA RB’s this week. Work was just too busy this weekend.
BBM, Ramsey is a very unique defender that Fangio can disguise within his schemes. He’s a bit of a rover but can also play corner at the highest level. Who’s going to be where? 🙂
Right!
I LIKE THE Addition at defensive back. Now with the other 3rd round pick and the 4th round pick get us the best available offensive linemen in the draft. Ignoring the O-Line again will have terrible consequences for both the QB and the running backs.
———————–
Speaking of not so good consequences, FAU was given a #9 seeding in the Columbus, Ohio, bracket where they will play Memphis, who upset national #1 ranked Houston by, I believe, 10 points today!!!
Could be a ONE AND DONE scenario for the FAU Owls. But, hey, if you aspire to be a highly ranked program, you’ve got to rumble with the Houstons and the Memphises of college basketball, right??
NEXT SEASON, FAU moves to the American Athletic Conference which, currently, has both Memphis and Houston as members.
OD, we don’t have a 4th but we do have a 2nd and 3rd, then a 6th and 7th.
I have to call you out on ignoring the OL. Regardless of performance and some was good and still not good enough. Jackson was a 1st round pick in 2020, Eichenberg was traded up for in the 2nd rd in 2021, then in 2022 we signed Armstead and Williams in FA. Then we kept adding guys for depth.
We did not ignore the OL. Tua was the top rated QB in the NFL last year. Him banging his head on the ground twice was not on the OL. That’s on Tua. He has to learn to not put himself in vulnerable situations.
Bridgewater did not look good and he had a mild concussion on one play and a finger injury on another. Thompson had a finger injury too. That’s it. That’s not on the OL. We had the best OL play in 2022 than we’ve had in years.
I personally think we should resign Wilson and Mostert and then draft someone. I really don’t see the value in adding a high priced RB in either FA or via trade
That might be the plan.
Here’s a “what if”. No chances in hell probably. I just think it would be funny as hell and a big middle finger to the Bills.
What if we were to somehow sign Poyer and Tremaine Edmonds. We would have:
Holland/Poyer/Brandon Jones
X/Ramsey/Kohou
Phillips/Edmonds/Baker/Chubb
Ogbah/Wilkins/Davis/Seiler
Holy shit batman!
😃

TIM; THE FACTS DON’T LIE. ALL 3 OF OUR QB’S GOT INJURED LAST YEAR!!
And the mediocre performance of the O-Line was a major contributing factor. WE’VE IGNORED the O-Line problem for a decade. MOST OF US ARE NOT HAPPY WITH THAT.
AND THAT’S A FACT!!
Okay ignore and not being where we want it to be are two different things. Using CAPS doesn’t make it more FACT!! Adding the guys I mentioned is not ignoring the position. I’m pretty sure the team wants to be better on the OL. Let’s not forget Hunt who has developed into a very good guard who can also play RT in a pinch.
Welcome aboard Jalen. He’ll be great or make us great whichever
Doggy get the Telecaster.
What color is it?
One guy has the mellow yellow as he calls it. He sets up the Woodstock out here and I’ve jammed at his house before. The other one I like is like the color of a maple doughnut. Still looking for a red one.🎸
Woodystostock.. ^^^^^^^^^^
My friend who built one from scratch used a dark marble wood grain with black hardware. I played an Ibanez back in the day with the same look. I dig that look. But if I was to get a new guitar at my age, I want it to be bright and pretty. But with black hardware. LOL
I’m telling you it’s Mclovin.
😆🐕
Just looking at the roster we need at least two more RB, three LB and a significant addition at TE. We are very thin there right now.
As for the OL, we can field a potential starting lineup.
LT Armstead – we all know his value.
LG Eichenberg – the coaches seem to believe in him.
C Williams – played every snap at a high level first time playing the position.
RG Hunt – he’s an ascending player.
RT Jackson – he’s been the albatross.
Need more competition on the OL. But it’s not void of talent like other positions at this time.
I’d like to see what our new OL coach can do with Eich and Jackson.
Butch Barry and McDaniel did coach together in SF. He knows the system. McDaniel made 7 coaching changes this offseason. That’s what happens in the 2nd year with HCs. Fangio played a role in that. Now they have a feel for their team. More personnel changes to come.
We said the same thing last year
Well it doesn’t take very long to run through one anymore!
51.Cody Mauch OT North Dakota State
84.Jack Campbell LB Iowa
197.Mohamed Ibrahim RB Minnesota
238.Josh Whyle TE Cincinnati
I don’t remember if you’ve posted this one or not BBM?
I have this feeling Roberts, Mostert, Wilson and Sherfield are all back. I guess it could be 2 out of 4. 😉
Throw in Gisecki on that list imo
I don’t think so. Hope Gesicki ends up on the Giants though. I’m a fan even though I think he’s limited but very good in some areas. I like rooting for him.
Gesicki is as good as gone, IMO.
Yeah. Hopefully not to the Jets. Anywhere else but there I’m fine with it. He’s easily a top ten receiving TE.
buy is he? Is he really? IDTS
Tindall and Ezukanma are 2nd year players this current regime invested in. Big year for both. You look at our 2023 draft with just 2, 3, 6, 7, but some young players from last year are in the mix too. We don’t gravitate to them because we didn’t see it last year. It doesn’t mean they’re failures. Some UDFAs stepped up last year. I expect a very competitive camp in 2023 and there are plenty of players on this team who are not cool with just fuckin around, they’re going to push the envelope. The goal should be the Lombardi Trophy. Nothing less.
Tua got his first concussion on a late shove by Milano. He got his second on a play where he should have run, but doubled back towards the pocket and got whipped by the Cincy defender (still baffled at why that wasn’t a penalty). The third was a tad concerning, but none were the fault of the OL.
Technically the hit by Milano was not a concussion. It was a back injury
Riiiiiiiiiiight
That was the official injury report. If they get caught lying on the report to hide an injury that could have major consequences for the team.
^ he got hurt on a QB sneak at the goal line, got bent backwards (back) and got an ankle injury. But rebounded and won the game. Started the next week against Cincy too. That’s when it started. The Buffalo game had nothing to do with the concussions.
So he got shoved by Milano, smacked his head off the turf, got up and stumbled, had to be helped off by teammates, and that wasn’t a concussion? Come on.
Tim,
I just don’t see Eichenberg being a starting OL in the NFL. He had Armstead on his left and Williams on his right, and you could actually make the argument that he regressed. I’d love to find a center in FA and kick Williams over to LG.
Not my call. Know what I mean? Just going by what I hear and read.
I didn’t think you were in charge of the roster decisions, just making conversation 😉
Nice write up Mike! I think Howard and Ramsey are gonna kill it next year.
Wyoming, That was a great draft! I was thinking along the exact lines. OL at 51, LB at 84 and RB & TE on day 3.
I have not posted anything about Mohamed Ibrahim this year but have known him to be a staple in Minnesota’s offense. What I do know about him is he not a fast RB but he runs hard and with much more power than his size would suggest. I think he is actually a smaller back but good weight for his height allowing him to run with power. You can tell in that video and, being a huge Walter Payton fan, I love the way he finishes his runs in that video.
I hear he is a good blocking back for his size also.
He was one of the RB’s I was going to check out this week.
He didn’t run at the combine but his pro day is this week on the 15th.
The most common defense teams play is the 4-2-5. Most offenses use 11 personnel as a base.
For us I see this sort of stuff.
Edge (2) Chubb, Phillips
Inside (2) Wilkins, Ogbah or Sieler
LB Baker and hopefully Tindall
DB X, Ramsey, Holland, Jones and Kohou
The 3-4 or 4-3 base is not that big a deal anymore. That’s not how the game is played other than short yardage or goal line. You use different personnel for that.
I’d say nickel defense plays at least 65% of the time.
LB’s Campbell and Ivan Pace Jr were gone.
51. Cody Mauch OT North Dakota State
84. Israel Abanikanda RB Pittsburgh
197. Cam Jones LB Indiana
238. Ben Sims TE Baylor
For those who want a LG. LT Cody Mauch is a stud and could be plugged right in at LG and move over to LT when needed.
LT #70
funny shit
Lol, he nails him
Brian, I was saying the coaches seem to have a different view on Eichenberg than what we see as fans. He just turned 25 and our offense is not college level. Maybe they see something we don’t. He was a really good LT at ND but many draftniks thought he would be a better guard in the NFL. That adjustment already started for him but it’s only 2 years into it. We’ll see.
Yes- I hope that he turns into a solid LG, but I have my doubts because he has shown next to nothing in his two years. Hopefully the new coaching staff can turn on the light bulb.

I have to say Fangio has plenty of talent to create havoc. 🙂
What a battle just to log into this place.
I had to change my username from uwantwat. I’m finally reasonably healthy again.
Man Ramsey!? Our D is getting stacked! A healthy Ogbah added back to our front 7 and lock down CB’s it is going to be hard to pass on this team. (fingers crossed) I didn’t realize until early this off season when I read an article on it but Ogbah was the most disruptive Edge player in the league 20 /21 with 18 sacks and 40+ hits.
except right over the middle in our week zone underbelly.
2.5 hours for tampering
We traded Parker and Long for Ramsey, caps are similar enough, to get an All Pro for 2 washed up players is like stealing😝
Grier does it again
I wouldn’t say Long is washed up.
He is like that shirt your wife bought you that you don’t like and never wear. It just stays hung up in the closet therefore never gets washed in the first place. lol
I’ve seen enough of him, that I’m glad we traded him
The 2 practices I went to last year he caught 1 pass for like 3 yards, and dropped 3 others, with mostly no one near him
In games and PS he either couldn’t get open or also had the drops
His blocking didn’t materialize either
Game tape I watched of him at BC I saw several drops in just 1 game, watched a second game and he had a couple more
Even though he had lots of catches at BC his drops were alarming and I’ve mentioned it here several times
Hunter, don’t let the door…
Oh I am 100% with you, was just trying to be funny.
Commanders signing DT Daron Payne to four-year, $90 million contract

Ouch, where does that put us with Wilkins?
Over the cap has us at 11m under after acquiring Ramsey, but a report said he’s agreed with us on a new contract, so our available cap should go up
