As Naples was able to convey so clearly, this roster is basically set. There are only a couple of spots on the roster in which anyone drafted in this 2023 NFL Draft can make even the slightest impact on this season, and beyond. With that in mind, let’s once again look at those spots and the players that could have a chance to make that impact. To me, Tight End is the easiest. We have two blocking TE’s, Durham Smythe and Eric Saubert, and then we have a tweener, Tanner Conner, who was a former college WR converted to a TE. Realistically though, Conner is at best what we hoped former Dolphins TE Mike Gesicki, a dangerous receiver. Neither Smythe or Saubert has proven that they can be reliable receivers, but Conner has elite speed for the position (4.37 40) and hops as well with a nearly 40″ vertical. I’ve already illustrated that neither TE is a true receiving threat between Smythe and Saubert, they have a total of 121 receptions, 88 for Smythe over 5 seasons, and 33 over 6 seasons for Saubert, 3 TD’s for Smythe, 2 for Saubert. Those career totals don’t add up to one season for Niners TE George Kittle, who HC Mike McDaniel had the services of in SF as the Offensive Coordinator.
This brings us to Darnell Washington, who already has established that he’s a solid in-line blocking TE, with the size to get bigger, and he’s already shredded. His pass catching is more on potential than actual production, or he’d likely be the first TE off the board. Taking into account that TE is probably one spot where someone could potentially slide into early on, I wouldn’t be upset if we traded up to get him, and it looks that might be a necessity to guarantee he’s on our roster. If your roster is already mostly set, and you only have 4 picks, none of them on day one, and two of them on day 3, I see nothing wrong with acquiring one impact player in exchange for one of our 3 other picks. I think Washington has the size and speed to become a good receiver, and the fact that he could line up now and block on the line and downfield just as easily makes him an easy choice.
Another position where I think a player could help us right away is RB. Let’s face it, we have a RB room that screams “Running Back by Committee!!” There’s not one feature back on our roster, and one half of our RB room is signed through ’24, the other half on year contracts. Adding a versatile RB like Jamhyr Gibbs would be an easy pick. Gibbs increased his carries and receptions each year, and was a big part of the Alabama offense. He has a similar skillset to Mostert, Ahmed and Gaskin, in that he’s a very good receiver out of the backfield, can run either between the tackles, and has the speed to break a big run at any time with 4.36 speed. Mostert had career highs in carries (181) and yards (891) in his 8 year career. Wilson also had career highs last season, splitting the season between the Niners and Dolphins, finishing with 176 carries and 860 yards. None of our backs have played an entire season as a lead back getting the lions share of carries. Adding some young talent to the pool makes sense. Improve the depth, and very likely, one of either Ahmed or Gaskin would be either released or traded.
To me, it sure seems like the Dolphins staff is committed to developing OG Liam Eichenberg. If it were up to Ken, we’d have already moved on from Eich, but even Ken knows we invested an early 2nd RD pick, in order to do so we traded up from #50 and traded an additional 2022 3rd pick to get to #42 to take the Notre Dame OL. It’s sensible to get something back on your investment if you truly see the potential there. He absolutely has not realized that potential as of yet, and RT Austin Jackson is certainly on his last chance, being 2024 would be the fifth year option for Jackson, a $14M + decision, in which Jackson would need a standout year to have the Dolphins pick up that 5th year option. To think the Dolphins may spend another 2nd RD pick on an OL is not folly. I don’t think anyone here would be disappointed if we went that direction. Once again, there are a couple of interior OL that could give Eich a run for his money in this draft. TCU OG Steve Avila is a massive lineman, 6’3.5, 332 lbs., who is very light on his feet for such a big guy. He’s also a team captain, leader of men, and could potentially be a day one starter. Many here feel we need to upgrade the O-line, Avila could remedy that. Another OL I’ve mentioned is OL John Michael Schmitz. He is widely considered to be the top interior lineman, specifically OC prospect. I know some people get bent out of shape when you say we could move C Connor Williams to OG, (where he played 4 seasons for the Dallas Cowboys) and have Schmitz at C. Williams is a very solid player who played every-single-snap last season at C. He struggled some with high snaps, but otherwise it was hard to criticize his play. Schmitz is a true C that could step in day one, and moving Connor Williams to LG gives us a strong left side, with Armstead at LT and Williams at LG.
There’s always different ways to look at things, and we may just end up being patient, see who falls to our spot at each draft pick, and end up with 4 players, or we might get aggressive and package a pick or two to get a player. I’d prefer the latter, as I feel if we’re going to draft players in the 2nd RD and 3rd RD, these players better be roster worthy and at least in my estimation, should have some impact, even in their rookie season. Keep in mind we drafted LB Channing Tindall last season who made zero impact last season, but we’ve also seen Grier trade up for players he wants as he did with OG Liam Eichenberg. Whatever they do, I just hope these players we draft make our team better not only in the future, but this year as well.
GO DOLPHINS!!!

Toba in his basement on Gameday!
Kong – out of curiosity only (I get no benefit from subs) are you keeping Plat with the new Youtube deal or will it be redundant?
I’ll keep it cos I’m cheap and cos I also get the PL and EFL soccer + a ton of other stuff.
Nice image for the page turn 😉
Lol…
Nah, no need for Platinum. I appreciated the service for the year though. It is really cheap for a good catalog of movies and the occasional fight night.
Don’t forget Cinema, too, for streaming movies for nothing!
Thought this was interesting.
Just shows how much the running game is becoming less important in the NFL and evolving towards a “by-committee” approach.

The game/rule changes have evolved?!
Wow…thank you for the support!
It seems some get me while others just want to hate me. The hate is OK, but it does get in the way of understanding.
In my opinion, there are a lot of contradictions expressed on “both (most) sides.” I try to distill most of the noise/fluff down to simple concepts (distillate) or ideas, like truth or harmony or love.
When someone starts out a comment by blaming someone else or another party or religion or a sexual orientation, you’ve already lost me. And, sometimes when I think I see that, I speak up/out….because fundamentally, it’s not about truth or love, it’s about you.
I always enjoy reading your stuff Krishna. Keep Krishna-ing!

GOT my post-op appointment with my surgeon in less than two hours. Hope the news is good. He’s the doctor who takes care of the Tampa Bay Lightning. The Bolts now have 3 key players on the injured list who may need his services. Never a dull moment, eh??

I’ll get back with you folks later today.
Missing some of that beauty rest this morning? Lol. ….hope the prognosis is good, too.
I have a 4K LG TV. So far, I’m not sure whether it’s the video drivers on my TV, or that YouTube TV just sucks, but the picture is not nearly as sharp as DirecTV. I use other streaming channels on my TV like Amazon Prime and Netflix and have perfect video. I’m considering buying an Amazon Fire Stick which has YouTube TV installed on it to see if it’s any better, I would need the Fire Stick for my outside TV if I decide to keep YouTube TV. I’ll keep you updated, but as it stands now, I’d only do YouTube TV for the Sunday Ticket, and not as my TV provider.
Mike, if you haven’t already, try checking your resolution settings. Make sure when you are watching youtube you don’t have it set at 4k as this might be stretching the picture. (It’s probably already set to auto select to the highest resolution, but if not, that might solve your issue.)
I’m dreading trying to get “hooked up” this year to watch the Dolphins. I’ve always had the Ticket just to watch one game a week.
Now, I need tech support…lol. I have smart TVs, ethernet, and cabling (all hard-wired), but then I need someone to make it work so all I have to do is turn it on…oh my
Read my mind, lol
I’m not alone…lol
Question: Will we still be able to stream the games the old way also?
I am in and out of the office for work on Sundays. Rarely am I able to watch a whole game. Sometimes miss the whole game so I don’t want to pay for youtubetv.
I hole we are still able to stream the old way also.
I hope
What do you mean stream the old way? Are you talking local? If so, yes, you’ll still get the Dolphins locally if you did before. You won’t have to pay for it.
Oh…tax season is over.
Taking the office to a real nice (high-end country club) dinner tonight….woo, hoo!
We have such an awesome team….so lucky
Anyone talking about this guy?
I hate setting up an account on the internet…now I need a youtube account?
Krishna – If you have a smart TV it probably already has the YouTube app on it. All you have to do is open it up and create a login so you can buy the Ticket. After that it’s as easy as turning on your TV. Eazy peazy.
Lol…didn’t know that….ok
Thank you!

Regarding Tim’s Dalvin Cook commentary yesterday
I honestly think Cook may be a difference maker for us. And I’m. It sure we have to trade a day 2 pick the way things are shaping up given the salary cap implications.
There was a time last year that we were unstoppable on offense
But it slowed down during the SF team
Officials were letting DBs get away with murder on our WRs
But a superstar RB will break that down
We have good RBs
But good isn’t enough sometimes
Superstars make the difference
We can say that about our WRs – no one will can keep up with them
Just one extra piece on offense though will make difference
What happened last year will happen again this year
But When teams press our WRs next year and get physical with them, we need to have something to make them regret it
We already made the moves on defense so that we can stop people
Make the move on offense – get that superstar RB
That is the piggy way
🐖💨
This is the way.
What is Cook’s salary demands and how much cap space do we have?
I agree with Piggy on this one.
Make the safeties keep an eye on the guy coming out of the backfield to distract them from doubling Hill and Waddle with no worries.
A TE who can get separation and get 10 yards deep into the pattern would also help to keep those safeties from taking aim at Hill and Waddle before the throw and keep them from getting a free shot, because they’ll need to keep eyes on the TE’s route underneath the WRs’ routes.
We still need OL
I think the FO hit PAUSE on this until they see what they can get in the draft.
Shell and a few other vets are still out there.
They might even be waiting to see how Eich and Austin Jackson and Feeney etc. interact with the new OL coach. And how they look to him in spring drills.
No there’s no Kittle in the draft.
But there was no Kittle in Kittle’s draft either.
The coaching and scheme he got drafted into made Kittle the Kittle we know now.
BUT we have that OC as our HC and that TEs coach, too!!!!
Although our scheme is a little different,
that’s a good thing, because the book is out on SF’s version.
SF also “invented” Deebo.
And no, we don’t need the exact Deebo clone.
But if you take away Deebo and Kittle from the McDaniel scheme,
you get a finesse team. Especially with Mostert in the backfield.
We can’t go any farther than we did last year with a finesse team.
Hill and Waddle are going to get too beat up.
We need a kick-ass / smash-mouth component to our offense as well.
To get an idea of what McDaniel and Grier are thinking, look at what they’ve done.
Saubert in one game will bloody more noses than Gesicki did in a season.
They brought in vicious hitters for the defense.
Long, Elliott, Reed, and even Ramsey.
They brought in tacklers.
Ken, Avert your eyes.
Dolphins general manager Chris Grier said Wednesday that he expects Austin Jackson to be the team’s starting right tackle this season, said other teams have called about receiver Cedrick Wilson Jr., and said receiver Chosen Anderson spoke extensively with several Dolphins officials before signing and was given no promises. “We’re excited for him,” Grier said. “He was frustrated with the injuries last season but is working hard… Having Terron [Armstead] around will be tremendous value for him.” Grier said the team believes in Jackson’s ability and likes how he has handled the offseason to this point.

It’s smokescreen season, so reader beware
What do you want Grier to do make a statement about Jackson like Ken would do?
I don’t like the signing of Robbie Anderson. What kind of asshole changes his name to “Chosen”
I agree
Are you starting to see things through a different color lens?
I don’t want equality I want privilege, is the same mentality that’s sweeping across the country
Look at me, look how special I am
I believe you have a distorted view of what my lens is.
Agree 💯!!!
Ken
I posted about Cook and salary a couple of days ago and MikeBB added to it
He’s under contract and it’s a big one but it’s one the Vikings clearly don’t want
It’s a bit complicated but the idea really centers around a cap swap between Cedric Wilson and Cook
The cap hits are not so much in that scenario
And there seems to be a strong possibility that Cook might be cut if not traded before 6/1
So if we trade for cook, we are swapping cap hits and taking on some cap hit but not a lot
If we sign him after June, it’s probably a 1 year deal and we probably find a way to unload Wilson too
The trade compensation for cook is probably not going to be very high bc of the cap concerns and how devalued RBs are in the nfl these days
I’m down with that.

I don’t hate you. I just called you out for your actions. If the rest of the blog is blind to it, so be it. They’re usually consistently blind to most things no matter the subject. Not really co-signing
Don’t really see a problem for starters and I’m not gonna babysit grown men anyway
Im personally not going to look for whatever problem you think there is. I don’t really care for these sort of conversations about the way people should talk to one another and what the blog should do about it
I’m done with having discussions like that here
Sometimes I’m frustrated by the substance of topics and sometimes I’m frustrated by the tone, it happens all the time to all of us – which I guess is the same sort of thing you are bothered about – so I’m not finding fault with you either since I react the same way sometimes
But you did make a generalized statement about the way the blog feels about one person, and I felt the need to correct how I felt about that person and whether I respect that persons opinion
For me these days, If I don’t like the tone of the conversations (which happens a lot) I just take a break and honestly I can’t think of one good reason it shouldn’t be that simple for all of us
I have no idea what’s going on with Krishna needing support or what other bloggers are saying. Did I miss something?

Correction: than Gesicki did in his career. lol
After watching that breakdown Ryder McConville did on Saubert, I really like him. We have 2 very solid blocking TE’s who are serviceable in the pass game. Adding Brenton Strange would make 3, but Strange would be the better receiver in the group.
M13, it is crazy how Strange has skyrocketed up draft boards. Pre combine he was considered a late day 3 prospect. Now they are talking mid day 2.
ESPN’s Mel Kiper, in his annual mock draft in which he alternates picks with Todd McShay, mocked Penn State TE Brenton Strange to Dolphins at 51. McDaniel, Strange had a long talk at Nittany Lions pro day
————-
Look, that’s WAAAY too early for Brenton Strange to go. 3rd round? Okay… but not in the 2nd round @ 51. ‘Little Head McShay’ is getting ahead of himself here.
Sorry, it was ‘Count Chocula’ Mel Kiper who mocked Strange to us @ 51.
Quite honestly, I think the ESPN Draft team SUCKS at their job.
I would be good with a 3rd round pick on him. The more I watch him the more I like.
Yes, I concur. 3rd round for Strange works for me.
So if we were to select Brenton Strange in the 3rd round, I wonder who we’d select @ 51?
I know I’d feel a lot more comfortable drafting my guy Braeden Daniels, T/G, Utah, in the 4th round… but we don’t have a 4th rounder… yet…
I remember back in the day before the we had all this information with the internet I would go to the Sporting News and PFW papers about the draft. I remember they all had us taking Terry Kirby (93), Karim Abdul-Jabbar (96) and JT (97) going to us in the 1st round and we got each one of them in the 3rd round. I think when sports reporters and mocksters hear a team likes a prospect they push them up in their mocks.

Noooooooooooooooooooooooo!!!!!😡😡😡😡😡🤢
Just remember Jackson will turn just 24 in August. We definitely reached for him when he was 20 years old but he’s still very young.
I mean if you think about it, what he the alternative:
– reaching on an unproven rookie with potential
– replacing him with a subpar vet who remains unsigned
It wasn’t a great year for free agent OL. Without a high pick in the draft or really reliable free agents to overpay, what can we do?
Last year was a good year to upgrade OL in free agency. I don’t think thAt was available to us this year
Using a legal analogy it is malpractice to start the season with Jackson protecting Tua’s blindside
Ken, Jackson only played 2 games last year. We never got to see where he’s at.
Yeah but there’s not a move to make Ken
There’s no replacement for us. We drafted Jackson to protect Tua’s blindside – That was probably a mistake. But we were desperate – we will probably do more harm with desperate move now
Relying on a guy who only played 2 games and didn’t play well doesn’t make it any better Tim
There were and are moves that could have been made
2 games is not a body of work to go by. He had no penalties, allowed no sacks and we won both games that he played in. The Jackson you’re thinking about goes back to 2021.
He was horrible in those games and horrible as a rookie when he played. He has a body of work. It is not good. It was never good. Also him being injury prone doesn’t help your argument
I don’t really see that Krishna as wrong. Not sure what the issue is. He took exception to what someone posted.

I would trade down from 51 if a stud is not there. Then take Daniels then strange.
It would not surprise me if we traded down at #51 if we don’t have that high a grade on anyone. I hope there will be though.
Someone else who thinks like me:
As long as Tua gets rid of the ball in 1.81 seconds, he will be fine. 😉
None of the concussions Tua had was because of Jackson. Neither of them have played 5 seasons either. They’re both entering their 4th seasons.
7 bone breaks? 3 ribs from one hit (Tua’s fault against BUF) and a fracture on a finger hitting his hand on a helmet.
What a bad comment, Mr. Kouffman. Wow!!!
TWO concussions not 3
Ken, how does no penalties and no sacks allowed equate to horrible? Did he miss every block but somehow we survived it? Did you focus on Jackson in both of those games? I think you’re going by your previous opinion of him and because he didn’t play most of last season you’re just adding that as another negative. The coaches liked how Jackson was playing before he went down. It was his first season at RT as well.
Let’s see how he looks this year. You’re writing him off way to early.
Watch the film. He was horrible
What film?
Any film of him. The film of the 2 games last year. His PFF grade was around 50 which is not good

———
Two mere games are not an accurate sample size of Austin Jackson last year. The same applies to Luke Musgrave, who only played in two games last season.
When healthy last season, Austin Jackson had a 77.9 pass-blocking grade from PFF. That is VERY good and in the ‘green’ for their grades.
And that was against the Patsies*, one of the best Defenses in the league last season.
First season at RT in a new scheme too. He’s still 23 years old.
^
But no doubt this is a big season for him. Gotta stay durable and show that he’s the guy.
Absolutely, and I’ve no problem challenging him with competition.
Just NOT with our @ 51 selection.
Unless a top Tackle falls to us, that is.
Competition is always good especially against young players like Jackson and Eichenberg. See vets Freeney and Lamm pushing them. We may be very interested in OL in this draft to add even more competition.
This was my first attempt at a “Win Now” draft. Trading shit away.
51. Jahmyr Gibbs RB Alabama
53. Drew Sanders LB Arkansas
58. John Michael Schmitz OC Minnesota
64. Mazi Smith DT Michigan
80. Blake Freeland OT BYU
197. Brenton Strange TE Penn State
238. Christian Izien S Rutgers
BTW, we only have a 7th round pick left next year and also traded away Cedric Wilson and Iggy. LOL
LOL
If I had more patience, I could have waited on IOL and traded for a 4th to get Braeden Daniels OG Utah and saved some picks.
The 2nd year in our system on offense is a bigger deal than new personnel. The Shanahan/McDaniel system is different than a lot of other offenses. There is a lot of movement within similar formations but we run a lot of different plays out of the same look. It doesn’t happen overnight and that goes for every element of the scheme.
We showed some signs of how good this offense can be last year. When’s the last time we had the same offense season to season? Under Gase? LOL
Yes our defense will be different under Fangio but his concepts aren’t foreign to anyone. It’s about what you do on this play. Everyone who plays football knows zone and man concepts. It’s about execution.
I think if a top OT to falls to us at 51, you have to pull that trigger
But that tends not too happen
I haven’t given up on Jackson or Eichenberg yet
But if you are done with them, why make the same mistakes all over again?
Both were kind of reached when they were drafted – but desperately wanted an OT before the rest were gone
Same thing might happen at 51 this year if we are desperate for an OT
I also don’t think we lost last season bc of of our OL
I think we struggled when teams were able to shut down our passing game which became much easier when Tua was out
We didn’t have a good defense. We didn’t have a running game
We didn’t have much without Tua

_____
Krishna spent the better part of a year personally ridiculing and passive aggressively attacking ORob for his opinions on Tua and ORob asked him if he thought his wife would approve of the way he was acting. Krishna then had a meltdown, played victim and got ORob banned for grossly misrepresenting what he said. David was banned for basically doing what Krishna did to Orob, except David was more blatant in his approach.
Not accurate. ORob brought it on himself by personally attacking Krishna’s deceased wife. It was unprompted to any particular conversation. David was banned for unrelated behavior that had nothing to do with anything between ORob and Krishna. I know because I was the initiated the process to ban them both
he didn’t attack his wife. what I said was accurate.
He most certainly did. It was what prompted me to take action. You are incorrect
I don’t think it was just that. But you think all of us are worthy of criticism except for maybe you.
“They’re usually consistently blind to most things no matter the subject.”
Did you count yourself in that?
It doesn’t matter what Krishna said, what ORob said was wrong. You want to debate someone about something, fine. The reference to his wife was wrong. Over the line. Way over the line. That’s my opinion.
It does matter, because Orob would’ve never said it had Krishna not constantly gone after him for months. I thought it was a valid question and I was definitely no fan of Orob.
Tim:
The comment from Koufman is accurate. He never said those injuries were Jackson’s fault. What he said is it is dangerous to have a weak blindside tackle playing when the QB has that injury history.
He wrote it really bad.
GOOD NEWS TODAY regarding my appointment with my surgeon. I NO LONGER HAVE TO USE A SLING (which I was using nearly 24/7 for nearly a month). NOR do I need any further medications. Today is my 7th consecutive day taking NO MEDS AT ALL! He was impressed.

THANKS KEN and CAVKONG. I’m turning in at 9:30 to get my beauty rest! We are busier than we’ve been at work in at least 3 years. The recent jump in gold has brought out quite a few counterfeits. The demand for my services (as a rare coin authenticator/grader) is way up.

Tim was the one who brought it up, not M13 to be clear.
SB7, you seem to have this blog critic persona going on. Like we’re all fucked up and you fly in here and there pointing out all our flaws. Do you have any flaws?
I have plenty of flaws, but I’m honest about them and work on them.
So do many of us as we go through life. 😉
Yes… I’m guilty LOL

SB – So our “Supreme Court” of Admins here aren’t perfect. Who whoulda thunk?
We do our best to keep this place going, and going forward with a degree of respect for each other, while still giving lots of latitude to each other. Utopia doesn’t exist pal, we try though. Seems like you have a bone to pick, which I guess is why you’re not around much anymore. I wanted to know what it is
OMFG!!! LOL!
sb7….not sure why you think you are judge and jury, and feel you need to speak for the blog about my behavior (which you did).
I’m pretty sure the support I received says more about the blog’s opinion of me than yours. Then, you attack the blog for not falling in line with your OPINION. You really do need to work on your shit….lol
I will help you with an easy one to start with… .don’t cherry pick. When you quote someone, try and make sure you quote the entirety of the message as context is important….like you plucking the first two paragraphs and leaving out the rest. Glad you think you made your point. At least, mf13ss got you as he used the same cherry-picked quote….lol. Birds of a feather…hmmm.
By the way, I have never asked for support (maybe IT support-lol) from anyone on this blog and have voluntarily walked away when ORob expressed to me DIRECTLY that he refused to leave my wife out of his attacks on me. That’s not playing the victim asshole, that’s taking responsibility by choosing who (the blog) I care to associate with. I don’t need to attack anyone’s loved ones so I can feel better about myself….lol…you?
The blog admin’s made the decision that family attacks were not permissible or were out of line on this blog. ORob refused to accept those terms and was banned. That’s my understanding. Go cherry pick somewhere else….lol.
Like I said two pages ago when I first called you out. Revisionist history and alternative facts. I guess when lies and deceit are your native tongue, then truth sounds like a foreign language.
So you’re saying revisionism and the term “alternative facts” are a foreign language? Being cryptic doesn’t help me understand your point. Both happen ALL the time…lol
And, if you want to debate me then speak for yourself and provide YOUR opinion without speaking for the blog….lmao…just wow
Now, I get it….lol…you’re calling me a liar.
Based on what? You’re personal experience with me or just general observations? Alternative facts?
I caught up with Big O’s radio show a couple days ago with Scott Pianowski as his guest. They got around to discussing Dalvin Cook and the Phin’s interest.
SP made an interesting point about him. IHO a RBs career longevity has changed. Use to be the end was in sight at age 30 but these days he thinks it’s around 28.
Cook is about to turn 29 I think. Anyway he also made mentioned that Cook has never played a full season in his career.
Personally I would rather trade up and take Jamyr Gibbs. The cost would be much lower than Cook.
Agree 100%. Not sure Gibbs is there, and I’d prefer Darnell Washington, but if DW is gone, and we’re looking for a RB, I think Gibbs is the better choice over trading for Cook
I think it unlikely they trade for Cook unless it is a sweetheart of a deal.
What a great morning….lol
mf13ss, you will never have to worry about me playing the victim, especially coming anywhere close your practiced heights….lol.
That’s fucking hilarious…lol
Right!!?
SBJ – I think this is much ado about nothing. Krishna posts his opinion about someone else’s post, SB posts his opinion about Krishna’s post…happens all the time here. Krishna is no puppy dog needing protection. He can take care of himself quite well.
My problem with SB is that he hates Dan Marino – obviously something wrong with his life choices.
SBJ…lol
Has anyone seen the Tua headlines in USA Today sports. It’s about him mulling over retirement last year.
My first thought was why wouldn’t he have? Hmmmm….be a brain-damaged husband and father or quit football? Tough choice.
I saw it. Not sure why it’s big news, he had a lot of thinking to do. It will be ironic that most of the people going all crazy over this article won’t think twice over Damar Hamlin coming back to play though.
Agreed…such bullshit.
Happy 4/20 to those of you who celebrate 💨😁✌️
Back at you….lol

I’m busy and it’s the off season, plus my interest in football has waned over the years. I’ve been around, I just haven’t been participating in discussion. Some inaccurate things were said in the last two pages and I was setting the record straight, regardless of whether people want to acknowledge the truth.
I don’t have the testimony in front of me to look at, but my recollection was Rob brought up Krishna’s wife in a discussion that he had no place doing so. You can send barbs back and forth about each other, but that was totally uncalled for. I’m not going to go back to try and find it because it’s history now, what’s done is done. Some things should be off limits, I think even mentioning his wife was unnecessary and wrong. I doubt you would have done that. Tell me I’m wrong.
I don’t think it was necessary, but I didn’t see it as wrong. He was trying to appeal to Krishna’s humanity after months of being personally attacked for his football opinions. I understood why he did it, despite my disagreement with it.
Attacking someone by taking shots at there dead wife is not wrong? You’re fucked up…lol.
So teams have recently reached out about the availability of Cedric Wilson but Grier says that they weren’t actively shopping him. I still think he is gone. Good thing it is a rather weak WR class. Someone will have a need for him.
https://www.nfl.com/news/dolphins-gm-to-do-right-by-cedrick-wilson-after-recent-receiver-additions
Peter Schrager has RB Jahmyr Gibbs going to Dallas at pick #26 in his latest mock. I could see that with Zeek gone and Pollard coming back off injury.
Yesterday was the last day draftees could meet privately with NFL teams.
I believe that was for workouts.
That was for team visits
Mike E., please share my cell with sb7 so he can grind his ax with me OFF the blog and directly. He has called me a liar, a joke, and thinks it’s not wrong to attack people’s loved ones. Apparently, he’s been grinding away for a while.
Call me sb7….lol
Appealing to Krishna’s humanity? Talk about revisionist history. LOL. We are talking about the same ORob?

You are completely free to post the evidence that supports you.
If this website had a decent search engine I would. I’ve tried.
Also I did give small jist of what was said. I’ve yet to see an actual specific attack that was said that contradicts what I said.
What you was inaccurate. I know because I was the one who initiated the ban. I have a very distinct recollection of it. But you choose to believe otherwise.

BOSS MOVE
Whole thread on YT TV, most of which Cav covered more than admirably yesterday I’m sure. Not read all the comments.
Holy shit, can’t imagine what he went through. 3 years!
beginning to get sweaty palms for the draft guys … nervous about us blowing it … here’s hoping we don’t do anything stupid and end up with a bunch of guys who can’t make any contribution to this year’s Super Bowl push.
If not for Skylar, that’s what happened last year.
We have a second and a third, so let’s cash those chips for plug-n-play men who can earn some quality playing time, even if not instant starters … fingers crossed
This is why I mostly don’t advocate drafting OL this year.
The OL class is neither strong nor deep this year.
So a mid second round pick is not going to come in and start at LG or RT for us.
(Not me talking … Grier says this, and he’s the co-decider.)
The only OL that would have a chance to contribute who will also be available at 51 is if the best Center in the draft falls to us, and we decide to roll with a rookie center and move Williams back to LG.
I would be only OK with that if our GM, HC, etc. is OK with that.
Besides that, if they picked a Bergeron type and trained him to spell Armstead, then that would work insofar as making a quality contribution.
Exactly how I feel and have said as much
We have a 2 year window now, could change though, but why draft for the future
Could be another reason to not go BPA, unless the player gets on the field this year and contributes its mostly a mistake pick
I think a rookie RB is far more safe to trust for meaningful minutes than a rookie LT.
So we’d get something for our investment right away while our Super Bowl window is wide open. 10 touches a game from a rookie RB would keep Mostert and Wilson fresh into January. Hopefully. If not, then the rook plays 30 snaps in a playoff game because he can.
Young legs at DT (NT) would also pay off with quality minutes and might even allow us to let Davis walk as a FA next year and both improve the position and be cheaper.
More good points
Just don’t want to repeat last years debacle
To me the Armstead issue is more scary than the Austin Jackson issue.
We had serious protection problems last year when Armstead was out.
Maybe Terron starts off this year more healthy.
Maybe Grier knows this.
Or we could get a short yardage back like this one,
to move the chains and score in tight.
Lol, but not a bad idea, I can see doing that with a 6th or 7th
Eagles were unstoppable last year in short yardage, more because of the OL and Hurts, but being able to convert like they did changes 1st and 10 to more like 1st and 8
Showing up to to the 420 festival like
Hey bud let’s party
I was Spicoli for Halloween 2022
I hope it was this version
Actually did go to the party with 2 women🤪
Mark Columbo!!!
The traffic cone
1.0925m for the Anderson contract, with 152.5k as possible dead money, if he doesn’t make the 53
So his spot isn’t close to guaranteed, but would be nice from a cap perspective, if he makes it
Now trade Wilson for anything, just to get rid of his cap hit
Did anyone else get awakened at 3:45 am with an emergency alert test? Scared the hell out of me. WTF were they thinking?
I had an iPad, phone and watch charging in close proximity to my bed. It was in stereo. 😂
Must’ve been local
Son I didn’t know you were a Texan!
Happy San Jacinto day! 🙂
Herd
definitely got an alert alarm about that same time.
The message was “We are testing the emergency broadcast system”
… or something like that.
It hit us on 2 phones and 2 tablets, scattered around the room,
so we had to reply to all of those, because I missed one,
and it went off again ten minutes later.
Anybody else?
I think we’d be very interested in Dalvin Cook if he’s released. Not sure we’ll trade for him but I would not be surprised if we did.
Above someone posted about Cook, the article mentioned 28 is the new age RBs breakdown
I agree with that, and think it’s ridiculous to trade for him and take on a big contract
What about a 2-year deal?
Then …
If he seems fresh, and it’s working for us,
we could extend him a year at a time till he’s done.
Miami is his home, so he might like to fade into retirement here.
How much is too much?
How about $6M/yr for 2 years guaranteed?
Naples, part of the problem with Cook is he wants that last big payday. Not sure he’ll get what he wants and will have to settle for what his market is. RBs closing in on 30 don’t get big money anymore.
Piggy!!
Where did you get footage of me and friends from college?
Rocky had the VW microbus,
although his was that tacky light green and dark green 2-tone.
He owned a head shop that also sold water beds. Made sense back then.
Roscoe was our friend who often fell out of parked vehicles.
He was also known for falling off furniture indoors.

This August… not sure of the exact date or if it has been released, man.
I’m amazed at how long the Star Wars series has existed. 46 years and running. I went to the theater in 1977 to see it with Dolby sound that was the big thing back then. That’s kind of where it ended for me. I saw some of the other ones in the 80’s but it wasn’t a big deal for me. For some of you guys it’s like a religion. LOL
I know, right! Bro, Star Wars is such an incredible tale that is constantly evolving. I get that it’s not for everybody, but for those who love it, it’s like a pseudo-religion of sorts! LOL 😀

Yeah, you’re welcome, Krishna. I gave you praise and respect, a friendly piece of advice, and you attack me? Slow your roll, hoss… I didn’t attack you. I’ve gone out of my way to be most friendly to you so as to rekindle our friendship.
And Rockphin, same to you. And who invited you to this convo anyway? Way to pile on… SMH.
Look, I acknowledge I’ve made some rather controversial statements here in the past, but I’ve grown, I’ve apologized, and I’ve moved on… life’s too short, y’all. You cannot grow if you’re living in the past.
It’s a new day and I don’t view either of you as guys I have an axe to grind with. Let go of the past… people change… and I’m not the same guy I was years ago when I initially upset y’all. Peace be unto you, both.
That’s all you can do is offer peace. What I think we all see on the blog and it’s no different than other social media platforms, is there are moments of peace and an issue gets everyone gets riled up. We’ve all engaged in it from time to time and then it settles down again. Then starts up again. Then settles down. Rinse and repeat.
I think many of us who are long time members of the Dolphins blog communities we’ve been a part of – now just basically this one have gotten much better at it. We take on national and global issues that affect us all and we have some very good quality discussions without insults etc. But sometimes some of us get a little irritated along the way. It happens but it’s much better than it used to be. Probably because a lot of people here have met each other and there is a level of respect. And some of us who have not met everyone have known each other on the blogs for a long time.
The bottom line is we all want the Dolphins to win and for our country to prosper and not be so divided.
Precisely, my man! Well stated… and at heart, I think everyone here is a decent person.
MF13, I don’t need permission to comment on anything on an open blog. Your history of crying victim is well noted on here so it will linger. That being said, you SAY you have grown and are turning over a new leaf so I will give you the benefit of the doubt. Peace to you as well
Tim,
Star Trek is the other one that is almost cult-like and it’s been around about a decade longer than Star Wars. I think it’s about the future that so many people rally around these franchises. It’s like the ultimate getaway from reality we’ve ever experienced… though the future is coming NOW.
Pretty remarkable how Elon Musk has made SpaceX what it can do! That launch this morning — viewed by the entire world — was awesome!
Didn’t end so well
https://www.cnn.com/us/live-news/spacex-starship-rocket-launch-04-20-23
Oh shit… I didn’t view it live (obviously) as I was still asleep in bed. I heard a lot of folks talking about it, but I didn’t realize the reason WHY. DAYUM.
I had assumed it was a major success. Thank you, Hulkster, for letting me know what had happened. Now I feel embarrassed.
Yikes!
To me it is amazing that they lost the plans for the Saturn V
Yeah Star Trek is another one. As I got older I found the original Star Trek series on TV funny. There was some goofy humor that was kind of dry. William Shatner’s over exaggerated acting was hilarious.
I love the thoughts on the future and new frontiers but as we watch technology evolve my view about it has changed. Most star travel will probably not have living beings aboard craft. Even other alien species. It will be all computer based and data to report the findings. That way take humans for example, there will be no need for oxygen, food and water. Robots or droids will control things. And we’ll keep getting better and better at it, if we don’t destroy ourselves first.
IF we don’t destroy ourselves first… that’s my fear. We are so close to nuclear warfare regarding the Russia-Ukraine conflict, hence my posting last month, sharing my fears with y’all.
Ken, what’s the lost plans for Saturn V about? I’m not in the know.
BBL… I’ve fam over.
I expect the trade talks and rumors to really hit the fan come Monday.
Oh yeah and some of it will happen.
Goddamn I wish these fucking reporters would stop stirring up controversy with bullshit Clickbait questions. The whole Tom Brady to Miami thing is being regurgitated again because some stupid fucking reporter asked him if he would consider coming out of retirement to play for the dolphins. He didn’t say no exactly so now it’s a story. It is not a story it is not going to happen it’s fucking bullshit let it go. These motherfuckers and their hatet for Tua is so over the top. It is like they’re desperate for ANYONE other than our starting QB. F them all
McDaniel and Grier have made it clear Tua is our guy and he wants to be the guy. Everything else is just noise.
Is that what happened? I saw the Brady headlines resurfacing all day today and wondered what the heck that was about, smh.
I refused to click on any of the articles, lol.
Why would we want to move on from the top rated QB last year?
Tua begins his press conference by saying he’s still a white belt. He did say he’s learned how to fall.
Tua, smiling, says he has “learned how to fall” with his Jiu-jitsu. “You would think it’s easy; just don’t fall and hit your head. But there’s a lot more to it.”
“I’ve been falling a lot this offseason… I’ve been thrown airborn, put in uncomfortable positions in jiu-jitsu… You continue to work on it, it becomes second nature. For guys at my position, we’re barely hit in practices, don’t even get touched until the season starts.”
Tua: “Really, it would be hard for me to walk away from this game, with how old I am.” Says he has dreamed of playing long enough for his son to see him play.
Tua Tagovailoa says he discussed the idea of retiring from football after the season with family but he decided to keep playing. He says this is his health and life. He thinks this is what’s best for him & his family.
Tagovailoa said that independent neurologists told him that CTE was not a big concern for him, given the position he plays and the amount of hits he takes.
Asked about how the continutity of having the same play-caller back-to-back years, Tua explained how nice it is to not start from scratch. He mentioned the training he’s been doing with the WRs… then he gets a huge smile “we’re all really, really excited to get going.”
Tua confirms he would have welcomed playing late in the season and playoffs if cleared. But doctors didn’t clear him to progress through protocol. NFL doctors also involved in that decision. He was in protocol for 37 days, Dec. 26 through end of January.
This is my second favorite RB in the draft.
Only concern is can he catch the ball / run the RB routes.

—————-1
The Saturn V was the largest operational rocket ever made. It was what we used to go to the moon. Since we essentially abandoned the moon program in the early 70s the design plans for the Saturn V was apparently not preserved which is why we are trying to build a rocket to do the same job as the Saturn V
Maybe we should all do a hunt for them. Probably worth something. 😉
