When looking at the AFC, there are quite a few question marks. There are 2 teams in my mind that are clearly at the top, that’s the AFC West Kansas City Chiefs and the AFC North Cincinnati Bengals. Both of these teams have been getting elite QB play from their starters. Mahomes is a proven winner, and although Burrow has played in almost half the amount of games Mahomes has, I think he’s on his way to being one as well. After those teams, I think it’s just a fight between everyone else.
I look at the Jaguars in the AFC South as a team on the rise. The Jags were a top 10 scoring team and just out of the top 10 in defense at #12. The Baltimore Ravens with a healthy Lamar Jackson will be a much more competitive team, and this organization is always is in the hunt, with an excellent, long tenured Head Coach in John Harbaugh. Our division rival NY Jets went for broke acquiring veteran QB Aaron Rodgers, and this year’s Hard Knocks participants have a “Super Bowl or Bust” mantra this year. The Chargers with strong armed QB Justin Herbert are always a dangerous offensive team with a healthy Austin Ekeler at RB. The Chargers defense took a step back last season, so they have work to do to be considered a SB contender. Our Dolphins of course made a lot of moves in the offseason and this past season as well, and are primed to be a contender as long as our QB is healthy.
The Denver Broncos are a team you have to expect to be a better team. Russell Wilson combined with new Head Coach Sean Payton sounds too good not to be. RB Javonte Williams turned out to be that nasty slasher RB we all expected but he went out early with a knee injury during game 4, so he should be ready to go. The Raiders let long time QB Derek Carr walk, and then picked up oft injured QB Jimmy Garoppolo. The Browns should have QB and massage girl nightmare DeShaun Watson playing a full season and they could be a tough team with a talented roster, led on defense by DE Myles Garrett and on offense by quality RB Nick Chubb. The Browns also added DT Dalvin Tomlinson from the Vikes.
The Tennessee Titans may be looking to make a QB change this season after drafting QB Will Levis. Our old friend Ryan Tannehill is getting a little long in the tooth and had a mediocre season last year playing in just 12 games. The Pittsburgh Steelers are banking on a big step up from their young QB Kenny Pickett. Pickett managed a winning record (7-5) despite throwing only 7 TD’s against 9 INT’s. The Steelers also picked up our former starting MLB Elandon Roberts as well as a few marginal pick ups as the Steelers notoriously don’t spend money in Free Agency. RB Najee Harris will look to have a bounce back season after a disappointing 2022 season. The Steelers last year sported a top 10 defense in points allowed (10th).
In the AFC East, the Bills could potentially take a step back, while our division rival Jets and our Dolphins move up. The Patriots were active in Free Agency, signing our own TE Mike Gesicki, WR Juju Smith-Schuster, S Jabril Peppers, T Riley Reiff and CB Jalen Mills. They also drafted one of the top DB’s in the ’23 NFL Draft, CB Christian Gonzalez. In fact, the Patriots first 3 picks were defense. The NY Jets added a trio of veteran WR’s in Free Agency to satisfy every whim that Aaron Rodgers requested, signing Allen Lazard, Mecole Hardman and Randall Cobb. The Jets also signed our last year’s punter, Thomas Morestead. I wouldn’t be surprised if 3 teams emerged as playoff teams from our own AFC East division, our Dolphins, the Bills and the Jets. Our division should be a tough one to win, you can’t count the Bills out with Josh Allen and the Jets should be considerably better on offense with Aaron Rodgers, and our defense should be much better with Vic Fangio and a healthier secondary, as well as growth from OLB Jaelan Phillips, a full season with Bradley Chubb, the addition of Jalen Ramsey, and the potential of our first draft pick CB Cam Smith, and the healthy return of S Brandon Jones.
The teams with a lot of work to do are the Indianapolis Colts, who drafted QB Anthony Richardson (RD1 Pick #4) and the Houston Texans, who also spent their 1st RD pick (#2) on a QB, C.J. Stroud. The Texans and Colts were at the bottom of the AFC at 3-13 and 4-12 respectively. Their rookie QB’s will have to shine bright to change the fortunes of both of those teams. I like the Bengals in the North, the Jaguars in the South, the Dolphins in the East, and the Chiefs in the West. I believe two of the three Wild Cards will be the Bills and Jets, with the Ravens taking the other WC spot. The Browns should be right there in the WC hunt and potentially more if everything goes right.
GO DOLPHINS!!!

Good write, Mike. I expect the AFC to be very competitive. Any team that makes the playoffs will have earned it.
Thanks Tim, I agree
Wow! I didn’t expect the Titans to be the team he signs with.
That’s a strange place for him, where are the Titans going? Big money grab?
I feel like the Titans window closed and they’re not a top contender anymore. I guess we’ll see.
We are #1
I don’t remember if anyone posted this and it flew under my radar but Cam Smith signed his rookie deal over a week ago. I remember some folks were wondering why it was taking so long.
Yeah someone posted it. No sure who.
Thanks Mike E.!
To be the best you have to beat the best.
Indeed!!
Thanks MikeE! Crazy, it was looking at the AFC earlier to see where the tough battles were going to be. Our Division is clearly, IMO, going to be the toughest.
I’m hoping:
1. Mac Jones continues to be Mac Jones.
2. Josh Allen and Diggs lose some of their chemistry and Diggs becomes a disgruntled, finger pointing cry baby.
3. Aaron Rodgers has an affair with Zack Wilson’s mom then she dumps him because he is weird and he has a mid-season mental meltdown.
LOL @ Aaron Rodgers and Zack Wilson’s mom. Probably a better chance of Rodgers just saying “Fuck it, I’m gonna just quit and do some shrooms”
😂
That will probably be a more likely scenario.
😂
Not much there to disagree with at all 🤷♂️
And Hopkins to Tennessee is not a bad thing at all either
Nuke to Titans is about the best we could hope for.
The Titans window slammed shut because Tannehill sucks ass. Prove me wrong.
I didn’t think you could.
Hey Mike E. …
just scrolled up and read.
That’s a perfect survey of the AFC teams.
Thanks Naples
Has anyone watched Quarterback on Netflix? I’m just starting it.
Movie or series?
Series. From what I see so far, following Mariota, Cousins and Mahomes through last season. Mariota might not have been the best choice.
Ah, I see, docudrama
Yes- it’s really good. Mahomes works out so hard- I love the behind the scenes footage on these types of series: it really helps you understand that it’s not just all physical ability, but a lot mental too.
Mike E,
I was on break today at work when I posted the Nuke news… didn’t have time to read your article. Now that I have, once again, well done.
And so as it applies to your article, Nuke didn’t go to the Patsies*, the Chefs*, or the Jills* to make them even stronger… GRAND!!! It was music to my ears!
YES, we’re certainly in the mix to compete for the AFC East title and MORE this season.
So long as the injury bug doesn’t bite us, my expectations are right there with yours, man.
Good article and topic Mike
I’m not sold on the Ravens and Steelers this year, Denver should be better, but not good enough and the Raiders may be the worst in the AFC
I think the Steelers might be a last place team provided the browns can get on track
The Texans and Colts were at the bottom of the AFC at 3-13 and 4-12 respectively.
When you’re that bad who cares what your record is😁
They were saying 118 to tie a record in Vegas today, but only hit 116, my house is up, only 113 today, it was hot but whatever
The cup was in Miami today
https://news3lv.com/news/local/vegas-golden-knights-ivan-barbashev-takes-stanley-cup-on-yacht-ride
The Rodgers contract with the Packers was reworked to just over 1m for 2023 to facilitate the trade, jets cash payout this year is only that amount currently
We know he’s not playing for 1.1m this year
There’s supposed to be a new contract coming soon
There are some teams in the AFC that are going through transitions or rebuilding. But some of them have enough talent to play competitive games at times and pull off upsets. Add that to teams who are considered contenders and it’s going to be hard for any team to win 13 or more games. We could see last 4 weeks of the season being wide open for playoff spots and positioning.
We thought the AFC was brutal last year, yet in the end several teams faltered, this year will be no different
KC and Buffalo won 13(+) and Cin would’ve, if they’d been able to finish the Bills game
With the AFCE being so tough I expect those that make the playoffs to be battle tested, and win at least 1 playoff game, unless of course they play each other
KC and Cin will likely be the top 2 seeds, even though there divisions will be tough too, they’re just a step above right now
That was last year. I think it will be tougher this year.
I wish Tyreek wouldn’t make guarantees, it’s one thing for personal accolades, but not an SB
The articles seem to say he guaranteed an SB this year, video shows he didn’t say this year, suggested before he retires
This year would however seem to be our best shot, as for bulletin board material…maybe they’re just trying to stir shit up, nah they wouldn’t do that
Fools still debating Tua’s deep ball
One thing Tua doesn’t do, that the rest of the great QBs right now do is turn the broken play into huge plays or 1st downs enough
Does it matter? It might in the playoffs
I thought he was ranked the best on 3rd down which is huge.
3&+8 Tua was actually 12th in the league
here are the stats
they are not spam. Sigh
http://stats.washingtonpost.com/fb/leaders.asp?year=&range=NFL&type=Passing&rank=047
Okay but I was talking 3rd down not specifically 8+. He was 6th in 3rd down conversion.
One of our most underrated players…
Alec Ingold 2022 Miami Dolphins Highlights
Ryder doesn’t talk at all in this one. Just lets the highlights speak for themselves.
Ingold was a good signing. He will be in year 2 in this offense and 2 years removed from injury this season.
Beer to M! Should have caught up before posting. lol
LOL 😀
Cheers to you, BBMike! You are the one who introduced me to this YouTube cat.
A lot of unhappy running backs out there today.
To your point…
Tag deadline passing shows just how much RBs are not valued in the NFL
The Franchise Tag deadline passed this afternoon in the NFL leaving Saquon Barkley and Josh Jacobs in limbo but it shows the NFL’s desire to undervalue the position.
By Brian Miller | 4:32 P
And Tony Pollard
And I don’t blame them
Now that they’ve become disposable to most teams, you better strike fast when people want to pay you anything
Noted…lol
Hopkins gets 12M with a chance for 15M to play with Tannehill.
Lol
Stop it!
Premium billing…lol
8 yo you tuber and you’re not Zooming? Hmmm…
Hmmm…I think WILKINS is a keeper, but som may not….
Kelly: Will Dolphins’ Christian Wilkins Accept A Deal That Doesn’t Measure Up To DT Peers?
Could the Dolphins be planning to use the franchise tag to lock up DT Christian Wilkins next offseason, or will a deal get done before the season?
OMAR KELLY43 MINUTES AGO
^some…lol
I think the franchise tag option would be a mistake…
This is why/how you build a team/legacy.. wake the fuck up…lol
I dare anyone/any team to replace him next year….lol…draft/FA….good luck
Yeah, I think what he’s alluding to, or just being an antagonist, is that Wilkins doesn’t have the sacks that the others do.
BY….stats, smats…he’s a force…always commanding double teams…you know that.
BNY…lol
Sacks and pressures are the stats, that get DL paid, if you don’t have them good luck
OV got paid by the Giants after having lots of pressures, but few sacks
Part of Wilkins problem with sacks has been the D scheme
Cheats generally didn’t have big sack guys in the same system
We better get him signed quickly, before Fangio turns loose the sackpack
We should have signed him already, imo….I’m not a GM and don’t know shit about the front office and caps or contracts.
All I know is he’s a player….100%
Get to work Rookies!
1st clip of Devon Achane from training camp
That’s great!
Achane hardly looks any bigger than Coach…not a good thing.
Fangio said he needed more parts, was he just playing mental games with the players?
Have you guys noticed that on Phins. com they twitter feed that used to collect all the tweets about the Dolphins no longer works? It is just blank with “nothing to see here – yet” I wonder if this is a new dickhead move by Musk to control twitter more and make people go to the site rather than read tweets that are forwarded / posted elsewhere. Well if it is he fucked himself because I WILL NOT search out tweets or join to follow. I will just live a better life without twitter! GFYAH
You might be onto something there
I search for dolphins news and it used to have a section for Twitter, that’s gone now, but I’d bet it’s the AHs around the world trying to squeeze out Musk
I don’t really pay much attention to Phins.com. I asked a bunch of times to include us on their feed, never got an answer back, and I see a few new blogs added every now and again
Phins used to be my go-to place for Dolphins news. They would link and the news articles and they had a twitter feed that showed real time Dolphins tweets. Now the twitter section is shut down, but the “story section” still works. Saves a lot of searching.
WHAT?!?! You’re actually saying on this blog that another place is your go to? WTF? Do you have any social skills at all? 😂 😂
LOL
We have met yet, but you have seen my interactions on here and other sites for something like 15 years now. My lack of social skills still shocks you?!?!?!
**Haven’t
New kids as school starting today:
▪ Cornerback Cam Smith
▪ Running back De’Von Achane
▪ Tight end Elijah Higgins
▪ Offensive lineman Ryan Hayes
▪ Linebacker Mitchell Agude
▪ Quarterback James Blackman
▪Cornerback Ethan Bonner
▪Running back Chris Brooks
▪Defensive end Randy Charlton
▪Wide receiver Chris Coleman
▪Wide receiver Daewood Davis
▪Tight end Julian Hill
▪Linebacker Aubrey Miller
▪Defensive tackle Anthony Montalvo
▪Linebacker Garrett Nelson
▪Defensive tackle Brandon Pili
▪Safety Keidron Smith
▪Offensive tackle James Tunstall
▪Punter Michael Turk
▪Offensive lineman Alama Uluave
▪Linebacker Zeke Vandenburgh
▪Safety Bennett Williams
That is a LOT of rookies that have very small chances of making the team. Some may make the practice squad, but most will see their dreams end come August cuts.
Didn’t we have an Offensive Lineman named Chris Coleman recently?
Last LB we drafted named Aubrey didn’t fare too well
Beavers?
Yep
That was cool.
Go Kader!
Anthony Montalvo from UCF
Would love to see a homer make it at least to the practice squad.
Go Knights, go Anthony 💥🐬💪

Zach Thomas days away from real football
Raheem Mostert — age: 31; career carries: 465
Jeff Wilson — age: 27; career carries: 474
Ricky Williams — then age: 26; then career carries: 1,589
This serves to illustrate just how often Mostert and Wilson have been injured over the years, while at the same illustrating how overused Ricky had been.
Achane is a rook, so only time will tell how well he performs this season behind our O-Line.
It only makes sense to add Dalvin Cook, looking at it from this perspective.
On the other side of the ball, there is FA DT Shelby Harris. We don’t seem to get enough pressure from our interior D-Line. Shelby fits the bill and has played for Vic Fangio in the past.
If ANY of our DTs should get injured, we’re in deep poop. Shelby Harris would be a great signing.
And so I wonder… IF we’re going to spend more $$$ in FA (as in, going ALL-IN), who is more important to acquire? Is it Dalvin Cook or Shelby Harris?
Dalvin Cook must realize that after yesterday, the RB position has been devalued… he’s absolutely NOT going to get what he seeks.
Shelby Harris will be 32 years old come kickoff 2023. He, too, cannot demand top $$$.
* Trivia *
Jim Marshall formerly of the Vikings, an OG purple people eater along with Mark Clayton is up as a semi finalist for the HOF Senior Class of 2024
What (in) famous play is Marshall most remembered for?
I’m honest in saying I won’t look it up. You’ve got me, Son.
Well since so many are chiming in I better reveal:
He took a fumble recovery the wrong way thought he scored a TD
You heard it here first: Jason Sanders and Keion Crossen are in the crosshairs in about a week.
Cutting both of them would result in ZERO dead cap, while saving roughly $7M in cap space.
That would give us $20M to sign whoever we want. Perhaps we’ll sign BOTH Cook and Harris.
If we keep Jason Sanders, cutting Krossen will give us $3.2M in cap space… still possibly enough to sign BOTH Cook and Harris.
So football begins.🙂
M- Ricky also played in an era where one back was the bellcow back, but he was totally overused even for a bellcow. Mostert and Wilson are RB by committee guys even at their best.
Mostert also had a long journey as a UDFA and bounced around on a few teams including with us a few years back.
Damn too late to the party.
Son I KNEW THAT ….
Ditto!
I’m sorry his name does not instil any confidence at the position
Offensive tackle James Tunstall
No one compares to Ricky Williams as RB with the Dolphins….no one….
….want stats was a loser…lol
Ooops…auto correct…lol
Fuck Ricky! He’s a quitter!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
👍 I’ve always felt that way
Lol….what did he quit?
His life/livelihood is infinitely more worthy than your fandom. Facts!
Guys, I think you’re missing my point when it comes to “bell cow” Ricky vs Mostert and Wilson as a tandem: LOOK AT THE AGE DIFFERENCES.
That highlights the injury concerns of both Mostert and Wilson… THAT was the point, see. If injury history repeats itself, we could be without Mostert and/or Wilson down the stretch (or even earlier).
This is the case to sign Dalvin Cook.
We could have all o them healthy all season, and get 1/3 of the carries!
Just how the ball bounces.
I don’t think we need Cook
Not sure what the point of the discussion is with Ricky?
Ricky didn’t get injured with ALL of those carries. On the other hand, both Mostert and Wilson have been injured many times.
…injured MANY times with like a 1/4 of the carries of Ricky.
INJURY PRONE
Me either…but some of you fucks have chapped asses about Ricky…lol…carry on….Wanstadt was the loser and RW saw that and said if you can’t do better I ain’t your boy…lol
HELL YEAH!!!
GO PHINS!!!
WHAT IF (God forbid) Tua goes down again for any length of time? It would then be very nice to be able to ride our running game to the Super Bowl. But with injury-prone Mostert and Wilson?
Again, this is a case to sign Dalvin Cook.
You’re going to give yourself ulcers!
😆
Maybe so! LOL
I’m STILL laughing out loud at your comment! LOL
You ROCK, Wyoming!!!
I’m a serious die-hard and this team has probably given me ulcers already!
WHAT IF is an endless loop.
Eventually you just have to step o the train. 😉
Finally….
What if Cook goes down week one?
He’s got talent.
He wants some of that Tua acrasee
Is there a team in the league with more hype and pressure than the Jets?
Cowboys are second
That’s a given. 😂
If Burrow and Chase go down are the Bengals top AFC contenders?
Lol

Dalvin Cook has been often injured too, last year he played 17 games for the first time
His stats in 2022, 1173 yds 4.4 and 8 tds, he had the big year in 2020 otherwise…
Mostert 891, 4.9, and 3, with only 181 carries in 16 games
16 games for an RB is good, but he did miss the playoff game
Dalvin might make the D more honest, just on reputation, but I don’t think he’ll change much in our O
Dalvin isn’t the guy that’s going to significantly change our O, but Chosen might be
He’s been the WR1 most places he’s been, imagine trying to cover him with CB 3 or 4, with a competent QB throwing him the ball and rarely seeing double coverage
Keep someone deep to help over the top on Chosen and Waddle and Hill will kill you underneath

I can’t remember the last time I had a Bud …lol….40 years?
Diggs was pissed at the lack of emotion in their playoff loss, so like a screaming baseball manager, he went off
He’s a leader and felt he wasn’t being heard, there’s really nothing negative that’s going to come from this, but the U75s will go on and on

Mike, great write up. I agree with most. Our season depends on Tua and his health. If he plays the whole season I for sure see us winning the division.
1883 is a great series
(Completely random post)
Would be fun to see a few series with all 5 of these guys in the field at the same time
It would have to be a VERY quick passing play. Or you better have an elite 5 blocking. But, hell yeah, bing bang zoom from 5 spots on the field
THE R2 BUTTON IS YOUR FRIEND USE IT OFTEN!

Former NFL QB Rich Gannon talks Tua Tagovailoa’s availability
@Jason_Sarney follow
July 19, 2023 10:45 am ET
There’s an age-old football adage that also applies in all sports, as well as all things in life, really. Former NFL quarterback and The 33rd Team analyst Rich Gannon used it when discussing Miami Dolphins quarterback Tua Tagovailoa.
“His best ability is his availability,” Gannon said.
Before going into further detail about Gannon’s analysis, Tagovailoa had spurts of greatness in 2022, having led the NFL in several passing categories heading into the mid-point of the season. He even finished the year leading the league in passer rating (105.5). More impressive is that Tagovailoa was the youngest player to lead the league in the statistic since Dan Marino did so in 1984.
Back to Gannon’s availability comment, Tagovailoa has missed time in each of his three NFL seasons due to injury. As a rookie, he missed a battle with the New York Jets due to a thumb injury after a few games under center. In 2021 he missed four games, and last season, he was absent for another four regular-season matchups as well as a playoff game.
In a tweet sent on Tuesday from The 33rd Team’s Twitter account, Gannon discussed the importance of how quarterbacks need to “avoid the unnecessary hits.” Gannon added that the most important areas to protect if you’re a quarterback are the head, shoulders and knees.
………..it goes on…..
he went on to say “oh, and hands and uh…shoulders and uh elbows, they are very important too…
So Gannon mangles the Big Tuna’s quote and regurgitates what literally EVERY OTHER TALKING HEAD has said about him having to stay healthy, but you know, like 6 months after everyone else and it is some kind of story?
PLEASE CAMP GET HERE!
Agree…lol
I wish steveccnv was going to the practices or someone who could get an eye on what we have….a second year and there should be a much less frenetic pace on getting things done….imo.
Cautiously optimistic….
Friday is Super Duper Friday, as Alice Cooper would say schools out for every, but can’t make it this year, last time I expect to say that
I am still hoping for a Wilkins extension….
yes, me too. Sieler and on the line Hunt. We have a TON of our good player who are free agents next year. Their salaries are not included in the 30 plus mil we are over currently. (minus the 10 or so we might carry over from this season.
Agree,,,I was about to add Sieler but I so want Wilkins now….Hunt would be the hat trick….
our y0ung core good players are all coming up on their contracts
I am surprised there hasn’t been more talk about our most consistent drafted lineman being a free agent next year.
Good problem to have?
I agree about Hunt!
no because they are not accounted for in next years salary cap but we are reportedly already like 30 mil over without the 20 of those guys counting toward it.
https://www.spotrac.com/nfl/free-agents/2024/all/miami-dolphins/
My goodness that is a lot of player NOT ON OUR TEAM next season while we are so far over the cap
Granted a lot of those guys will not make the 53 or will be on the PS, but still
I can make a case for anything we’ve collectively talked about… and that certainly includes re-signing Wilkins (and others), signing Dalvin Cook, or signing Shelby Harris.
Just don’t mess around until our options become limited.
To all of you country music fans out there: I PROUDLY stand with Jason Aldean!
This is the song that the left is trying to cancel…
Jason Aldean – Try That In A Small Town (Official Music Video)
I want to see Tom MacDonald team up with Jason Aldean for a song.
Lol…I was at a bar at a restaurant yesterday when asked the bartender to remind me of the name of the drink that is served in a copper cup. It was ______ mule, something.
He said you mean, Moscow mule. Yes! And, the Austin mule has Tito’s.
He said they renamed it to the Farmer’s Market mule. WTF, so I asked how they came up with that. No clue. Lol.
So, of course, I started thinking of all the possible “offensively-named” drinks and their soon to be NEW names. Others chimed in and helped me….lol.
So, I started with my favorite which is the Irish car bomb….I love it…it’s the perfect desert….lol. No one had a suggestion except to just drop the Irish. Just FYI, my first car bomb was with my Irish friend.
Same with a Bloody Mary. Drop the Mary, but Karen came up a few times….lol.
White Russian….Caucasian-Eastern European. Is there such a thing as a Black Russian? African-Eastern European? Lol.
Mexican martini…Hispanic or Latin martini? Tequila martini?
We kept it clean and didn’t get into the “sexual” drinks….lol.
Having fun with some of the nonsense out there.
And, to be clear, there’s nonsense everywhere, imo, not just right or left….lol.
I think a long slow fixation against the wall still works? 😂😉😏
Do people really care that much about something so trivial?
The white Russian uses milk, the black Russian no milk, so obviously the color is the first word in the name, Russian part is obvious, why is that offensive?
This is a problem with society today, too many people are looking for ways to make trouble, and it’s usually people that think others are offended
What started out as a political ideology has gone too far by the snowflakes of the world
Go watch some interviews from college campuses and you’ll find how indoctrinated people really are
Most people just want others to STFU, leave them alone, and quit sticking their nose where it doesn’t belong
2023 FIFA World Cup starts today…
Women’s WC. A lot of “soccer snobs” over here won’t watch it because it’s not the men’s game. Like in Tennis. I love it (it features a ball!) The Lionesses did fantastically well in the Women’s Euros and hopefully can emulate that down under. NZ with a massive home-upset in the opener (and deserved from what I saw at the end of the broadcast) and Oz up against ROI currently.
Looking forward to Saturday morning. K.O. times are not kind to the US – especially WCers.
Her wokeness Rapino ruined women’s soccer for me, not only do I not watch it any longer, I hope they lose
Do people really care that much about something so trivial?
One person we will turn you off from an entire sport? One person will make you cancel a beer? Some self reflection is required I believe.
There’s an article in USA Today by Safid Deen, Tua optimistic for ‘more special’ ’23 ”
It’s a little more insightful on him as a person and his growth as a man, father, husband, and football player.
Seems Mac Jones is the latest to get the Tua treatment now that Tua is respected as a baller
Might be an Alabama thing, people love to hate their QBs
Hurts also got some tough love, not as much as Tua, because he was drafted much later, but still got it
What problem, I don’t see a problem
RBs are a dime a dozen, perfect supply vs demand situation
Why is it that evertime something works as it’s supposed to someone is always offended?
The RB position has been this way for years, if you don’t like it’s pay do something else
What if I didn’t like the pay for men’s bowling, what would these same people bitching about RBs say, if I proposed we use some of the NFL cap money to subsidize it?
The league has already made the running game less important because it doesn’t want long drives and few points so it made it ridiculously easy to pass the ball and Marino’s record breaking season which was utterly off the charts now looks pedestrian. What next – moving buckets replacing WRs. DE’s shackled at the ankles. Blind-folded DBs There’s some more salary cap saved making the owners richer. Cos they need it.
There’s already a trend for mom’s not to want their kids to play contact sports. Minimise the rewards, and that supply/demand will eventually swing back the other way. Why play a position where the franchise tag has gone down in the last 5 years when every other position has gone up, along with the soaring cap? So much for parity
Saved salary cap in this way does nothing for the owners, it just goes to a different position

Seems like someone just using stats schmats to back their POV
Stats are facts. I love facts.
Opinions are just feelings.
Even if the facts don’t fit your opinion,
they are still important to know and base policy on,
no matter if they hurt your feelings.
Stats are facts to back any opinion, they don’t always fit an agenda, but we’ve seen them far too often do just that
I can cherry pick mostly anything I want to with stats
We saw that yesterday with a party trying to discredit whistleblowers
Here’s someone that understands fit
https://clutchpoints.com/lakers-austin-reaves-namedrops-team-he-rejected-in-bold-move-to-get-a-shot-at-la
I’ve been saying for a long time, players shouldn’t just sign in FA the team, that pays them the most money, they need to find the best fit, if they do they’ll make more in the long run and will be more satisfied
Here is a list of the most violently unsafe small towns in America.
Those stats above are from a follow-up to this article:
Source:
https://frenzhub.com/the-most-dangerous-small-towns-in-the-united-states/
Jason Aldean (whose last name is actually Williams)
was born and raised in Macon GA.
With a crime rate of 37 per one thousand residents, Macon has one of the highest crime rates in America compared to all communities of all sizes – from the smallest towns to the very largest cities. One’s chance of becoming a victim of either violent or property crime here is one in 27.
OK if you want a different metric:
How about “violent crime per capita.”
These are all very dangerous places to live,
and they are all small towns.
https://bestlifeonline.com/small-town-violent-crime-news/
Jason Aldine Williams came from a “broken home”
and spent summers with his father in Homestead FL.
The crime rate in Homestead is considerably higher than the national average across all communities in America from the largest to the smallest, at 28 crimes per one thousand residents,
population of Macon GA = 157,000
population of Homestead FL = 81,000
(but it is 100% bordered by Metro Miami,
which has a population in the millions).
Where Jason Aldine Williams lived most of his adult life is Nashville TN,
where the population is 684,000.
How does he know what it is like to live in a small town?
He’s never lived in a small town.
Maybe not, but he writes a good song about them….
I don’t have a dog in this fight but it’s not stopping me from commenting. 😂 A small town or big city is a relative term. What I think is a big city or small town might be different from how someone else views it.
They give the number of residents in the article to define what small town is etc…
I was referring to the lyrics.
It amazes me how so many people are offended by words.
Words?
Everything under the sun, that fits the agenda
But words don’t matter until they become an action.
Really? Freedom of speech is in the first amendment. Words have always been powerful
Powerful or accepted and allowed? There are nitwits out there that want to control the language. The opposite of the 1st Amendment.
So what is the controversy with Jason Aldean’s song?
His song is being canceled by certain groups. Think you can figure out who?
I read the lyrics. Okay it was basically an anti-crime song. Are people offended by this because it’s a stand your ground sentiment?
So the crime is what it is, but defending yourself is the outrage?
Words matter.
Actions speak louder than words.
If I tell you to go fuck your self and that’s the end of it, no big deal. If you give someone the finger on the road and they shoot you, that is a big deal.
Not climate change and definitely not a small town
https://www.nbcsports.com/nfl/profootballtalk/rumor-mill/news/dolphins-place-nik-needham-on-the-active-pup-list
Actually….
Nik Needhan was born in in a town so small, his Wikipedia page only lists the county he was born in
And that County, Orange Co California, is reported to be experiencing some of the most severe effects of climate change in the US – their coastline is disappearing
Sheesh Phish – stop making political posts… 😆
🤣🤣🤣🤣
Not surprised, I’ve been seeing lots of players coming off injury being placed on the PUP heading into camp.
For the Dalvin Cookers
Cooks willingness to be a jet grows as the season draws closer.
He wants to be in Miami I think he will be in about a week.
At this point it wouldn’t surprise me if he say out the season
If I were him I wouldn’t 5 mill is way more than no mills and not getting any younger
To any runningback not playing because “he’s not getting what he’s worth “ there are probably 100 guys ready to step in on any team and compete for a spot and do well. Some are special but the runningback position is made up of guys of probably the most common size of most men. It is what it is.
I’ll sign for the minimum tomorrow and compete.
Hanging out with Ingold after practice while I pound ten beers lol
I’m sorry (not really), if the RB market is valued less than what you think you’re worth….it’s called capitalism…lol
Speaking of climate change…
https://www.nbcsports.com/nfl/profootballtalk/rumor-mill/news/court-filing-alleges-dalvin-cook-offered-gracelyn-trimble-1-million-to-exonerate-him
Meh, a non issue to signing him
Ooops…lol
Freudian slip?? Oh, she meant pollution. BS, it’s the agenda of the elites and she let it slip. She is that dumb.
Not a miss speak. Such a tool.
Did you see her try to correct herself?
Didn’t think so
But could you imagine her trying to correct herself? It might get even worse! LOL
‘I meant to say monopolation, not depopulation, because when you think about mono, you can get sick. Monopolation is sick, like when you really feel bad… like really, really bad. Depopulation happens when people have mono, cause no one person can cure the population. And the population would agree that mono is bad, because, like, because of it happening in a population. Am I right?!!’ *CACKLES ERRATICALLY*
