When looking at the AFC, there are quite a few question marks. There are 2 teams in my mind that are clearly at the top, that’s the AFC West Kansas City Chiefs and the AFC North Cincinnati Bengals. Both of these teams have been getting elite QB play from their starters. Mahomes is a proven winner, and although Burrow has played in almost half the amount of games Mahomes has, I think he’s on his way to being one as well. After those teams, I think it’s just a fight between everyone else.
I look at the Jaguars in the AFC South as a team on the rise. The Jags were a top 10 scoring team and just out of the top 10 in defense at #12. The Baltimore Ravens with a healthy Lamar Jackson will be a much more competitive team, and this organization is always is in the hunt, with an excellent, long tenured Head Coach in John Harbaugh. Our division rival NY Jets went for broke acquiring veteran QB Aaron Rodgers, and this year’s Hard Knocks participants have a “Super Bowl or Bust” mantra this year. The Chargers with strong armed QB Justin Herbert are always a dangerous offensive team with a healthy Austin Ekeler at RB. The Chargers defense took a step back last season, so they have work to do to be considered a SB contender. Our Dolphins of course made a lot of moves in the offseason and this past season as well, and are primed to be a contender as long as our QB is healthy.
The Denver Broncos are a team you have to expect to be a better team. Russell Wilson combined with new Head Coach Sean Payton sounds too good not to be. RB Javonte Williams turned out to be that nasty slasher RB we all expected but he went out early with a knee injury during game 4, so he should be ready to go. The Raiders let long time QB Derek Carr walk, and then picked up oft injured QB Jimmy Garoppolo. The Browns should have QB and massage girl nightmare DeShaun Watson playing a full season and they could be a tough team with a talented roster, led on defense by DE Myles Garrett and on offense by quality RB Nick Chubb. The Browns also added DT Dalvin Tomlinson from the Vikes.
The Tennessee Titans may be looking to make a QB change this season after drafting QB Will Levis. Our old friend Ryan Tannehill is getting a little long in the tooth and had a mediocre season last year playing in just 12 games. The Pittsburgh Steelers are banking on a big step up from their young QB Kenny Pickett. Pickett managed a winning record (7-5) despite throwing only 7 TD’s against 9 INT’s. The Steelers also picked up our former starting MLB Elandon Roberts as well as a few marginal pick ups as the Steelers notoriously don’t spend money in Free Agency. RB Najee Harris will look to have a bounce back season after a disappointing 2022 season. The Steelers last year sported a top 10 defense in points allowed (10th).
In the AFC East, the Bills could potentially take a step back, while our division rival Jets and our Dolphins move up. The Patriots were active in Free Agency, signing our own TE Mike Gesicki, WR Juju Smith-Schuster, S Jabril Peppers, T Riley Reiff and CB Jalen Mills. They also drafted one of the top DB’s in the ’23 NFL Draft, CB Christian Gonzalez. In fact, the Patriots first 3 picks were defense. The NY Jets added a trio of veteran WR’s in Free Agency to satisfy every whim that Aaron Rodgers requested, signing Allen Lazard, Mecole Hardman and Randall Cobb. The Jets also signed our last year’s punter, Thomas Morestead. I wouldn’t be surprised if 3 teams emerged as playoff teams from our own AFC East division, our Dolphins, the Bills and the Jets. Our division should be a tough one to win, you can’t count the Bills out with Josh Allen and the Jets should be considerably better on offense with Aaron Rodgers, and our defense should be much better with Vic Fangio and a healthier secondary, as well as growth from OLB Jaelan Phillips, a full season with Bradley Chubb, the addition of Jalen Ramsey, and the potential of our first draft pick CB Cam Smith, and the healthy return of S Brandon Jones.
The teams with a lot of work to do are the Indianapolis Colts, who drafted QB Anthony Richardson (RD1 Pick #4) and the Houston Texans, who also spent their 1st RD pick (#2) on a QB, C.J. Stroud. The Texans and Colts were at the bottom of the AFC at 3-13 and 4-12 respectively. Their rookie QB’s will have to shine bright to change the fortunes of both of those teams. I like the Bengals in the North, the Jaguars in the South, the Dolphins in the East, and the Chiefs in the West. I believe two of the three Wild Cards will be the Bills and Jets, with the Ravens taking the other WC spot. The Browns should be right there in the WC hunt and potentially more if everything goes right.
GO DOLPHINS!!!

Their own money? You mean mine and yours? Is that “their own”?
No Mike I meant exactly what I said. THEIR money. That’s the way this kind of debt works. You and I will be long dead and they will be paying for these decisions with interest. So much interest that it will actually be more than the original debt.
Maybe we’re talking about 2 different things. I’m specifically talking about the debt forgiveness bill. That’s OUR money
I think what Rock is saying is they’re going to be paying off other people’s college debt down the road just like they got theirs paid for.
It is just being added to the national debt which they are going to inherit. Actually have already inherited if they are working.
poppity pop pop pop
lol
Starting to warm up on Ramaswamy, not that it’ll matter, the media will turn him into a monster, just like they do with every serious right candidate and even some on the left like Kenedy jr
Independents should like him more too, than the same ole
Tim – I don’t think so. I think he’s empathazing with students who are paying off big student loans with high interest rates. We’ll find out when he graces us with his presence.
Oh okay. The way he worded it made me think what I said.
Rock – it may very well be added to the national debt, but we still pay for these things with higher taxes.
We pay with inflation, everytime POS gives out free money debt and inflation go up
He’s using not his money for his campaign, should be illegal
Same as Johnny do Good, when he was running for class president in 5th grade free pizza and ice cream on Fridays
I’d be just fine getting rid of the FBI and letting other agencies pick up the slack, and sending the 20% doing 80% of the work to a different agency
Three more days! Gotta put out some hype!
Maddens fucked up this year. They won’t be selling me a coffee until they fix some of these really bad ratings.
Patrick Mahomes -99
Joe Burrow – 95
Josh Allen – 94
Lamar Jackson – 91
Jalen Hurts – 88
Justin Herbert – 87
Dak Prescott – 87
Aaron Rodgers – 86
Kirk Cousins – 84
Tua Tagovailoa – 83
Tua so low because of these individual ratings.
Throw Power – 86
Throw under pressure – 86
Short accuracy – 96
Medium accuracy – 92
Deep accuracy – 86
Play action – 84
Idiots. 201 the best passer in the league last year also some of the best players came off of play action. He was one of the best in the league. Here is from last year.
And he got better this year.
They need to get their heads out of their asses.
**Tua was one. Not 201.
For some reason I don’t think eliminating the FBI is an easy task and why would they?
They should since the top has become so corrupt. Absorb the local agents in the field into the state bureau’s. Just a thought.
So you’re talking about reform.
Absorb their mission and some agents into the US Marshal’s. We have far too many federal law enforcement agencies.
+1000000000000000 to BBMike and Phelon.
First time I’ve ever heard this one from the legendary Shock G, and it’s GRAND! It’s strictly piano, so everybody can feel it.
Shock G – Piano Man Blues (Official Vizualizer) (Presented by Solo Piano Group) (2022).
For you military guys; did politics and religion ever influence you during your mission?
No, not on the unit or individual level. However, sometimes our missions were impacted. 1993 Somalia everyone was looking foe Farah Aideed. We (US SEALS had eyes on him. UN (at the time the Italians) were in charge of ops. We called it in and they delayed the take down. While we were waiting for the go to take him down an Italian unit drove inand picked him up, took him out of the compound. Never got eyes o again
I figured as much and gotcha on other challenges.
No, not at all. You can’t. You hesitate or don’t follow through on your mission due to some conflict in your beliefs, you might get another, or others injured or killed.
Many missions I was a part of were in coordination with another unit’s mission. You fail on your mission you might be screwing your brothers. Standby for the backlash if you fail due to your internal conflict.
That’s what I hear from all military people.
Well it’s fake!
But who cares?

UK, is “The Open” anywhere near you?
About 70 miles away Son. It’s in enemy territory though. I was born in Lancashire (now Greater Manchester) and lived for about 25 years in Cheshire just South outside the GM area, but 2 years ago moved about 10m East to the edge of the Peak District National Park when uknotafinfan and I bought a house together. We are both “Mancs”. Short history sidebar – Liverpool (Scousers) controlled the port and all imports into that side of the country. This was v important when the weaving trade was big here in the NW, which has damp conditions ideal for spinning cotton. The Mancs in “Cottonopolis” (nickname for M) hated being ripped off by the Scousers when all the US cotton arrived into the UK to be shipped down the Mersey River, so Mancs built the Manchester Ship Canal to allow goods to bypass Liverpool and sail straight to Manchester. Ever since, Mancs and Scousers have held a very healthy disrespect for each other. They are largely thieving, lying toe-rags to a man (and woman) 😉.
We bought our house here to be near B’s mum and dad who are getting on in years, as I had a 150m round trip to see my folks before they passed away and didn’t want that if B’s folks health started to deteriorate. Life never quite works out how you expect tho – they moved 50m away to Chester after we bought this house. 🤣. Bastards.
They are 20m away from the Royal Liverpool. Chester and Cheshire the County is considered “friendly”. The RL is on the Wirral peninsula which is mostly “Scouse” as its accessible easily by the Mersey Tunnel but Mancs live over that way too. Soccer fans hate each other and the most bigoted still sing about disasters that happened to opposing teams and fans (Munich Airport disaster, Heysel, Hillsborough etc). The Scouse accent us very pronounced and whenever I hear one the first thing I do us check my wallet. 😃
Not a golf fan personally. The Ashes (cricket) is the big deal here at present. Our World Series you could say but only happens once ever 2 years and alternates between England and Oz. Sure Dean Chance is watching down under – not seen him for a bit. Aussies have the lead currently but England fighting back.
PS Ferry Cross the Mersey for last Friday’s tunes in 🐷 theme.
Lol @ check my wallet
Thanks for the history and so no we won’t be seeing you along 18.
Shit weather there today
Hey Ape – Haven’t seen you post in a while. Are you watching the new Justified? 2 episodes in and Raylan hasn’t shot anyone yet…WTF!?! I need to find somewhere other than FX to watch it. F’n commercials are annoying.
The wife isn’t too happy about the slow start either!
Saw Vivek on Fox News this morning. He’s a very impressive young man, not a hack at all. If he’s a hack, then what do you call what’s in the White House now? What do you call Trump and DeSantis?
Ramaswamy is not a bad candidate. I know you don’t like DeSantis because of the abortion thing, but that doesn’t bother me. He’s done a good job in Florida and the government (federal or state) should not be involved in personal issues.
The voting age thing is almost certainly a bridge too far, but they all have those on the campaign trail. Heck, the Dems want to lower it to 16! Bottom line is anybody is better than Trump or Biden. I think No Labels will put someone up if those two are the Rep and Dem candidates.
Hillary, Pelosi, AOC, Schiff, Omar, Tlaib, Schumer, Waters, Warren, Booker, Blumenthal, Nadler, Lee, Conyers, Swalwell, MTG, Boebert, Gaetz, Romney, Graham….
and the list goes on.
It’s scary looking at the list and to think I didn’t list 25% of the hacks.
Phelon – I don’t dislike DeSantis, I just wanted to be able to really like him. So far I’m not anywhere close to that. Maybe the debates will change that, we’ll see in a month after the first GOP debates on the 23rd.
Phelon – i do dislike the anti abortion campaign though. Wipes out women voters and moderates right off the bat. I don’t think we can afford to do that. That’s my thought on that
Yeah, it will certainly impact single issue voters. But I don’t think it will have much effect overall. I am looking forward to the debates as well. Hard to get a true picture of DeSantis given the slanted coverage he and his wife get. He must scare the shit out of the left.
^
Robert Kennedy Jr. scares the shit out of the left. The puppeteers want full control, and with Biden puppet, they have that.
Kennedy is a nut, but they should be scared. He’ll pull the other leftist nuts’ vote.
Curious – have any of you watched the Netflix series House of Cards? I feel like there is more truth and reality in that show than there should be. I think a lot of what you see in that show translates to what may be happening in real life. It’s disturbing.
Haven’t watched it. Just finished Jack Ryan.
Yep. I thought that years ago when I watched the first episode and never changed my opinion. I didn’t finish it, maybe need to go back and watch from beginning. I stopped watching after Kevin Spacey wasn’t in it. My takeaway was once anyone is elected, anything they ran on is out the window. They will do anything to get re elected and that’s all that matters.
It really illustrated what people in power are capable of doing to stay in power. I believe to some extent some of the things they had in that show happen pretty close to real life politics.
I thought the ‘suicide’ in the car, I forget the character’s name, was a nod at Vince Foster. Sure it was a different method, but that’s what I thought.
Good series for you along the “staying in power” line. War for the Rose Throne by Peter McLean. Very Abercrombie-ish writing style. 4 books.
Getting pretty close to all in on Ramaswany
Good policies, smart people person, and isn’t compromised
RFK Jr and Manchin might be good for us as a country too
💥👍
Wow
Maybe I should rethink my position on this guy?
He’s not a hack
Turning Russia against China and ending their military alliance is a great idea
So for clarity: the idea here is we stop assisting Ukraine and agree that Russia can have the Donbas region of Ukraine. I guess Russia will have to continue its invasion, since we can’t just give it to them, but Russia should win without our Ukrainian assistance
in return Russia agrees to end any military alliance with China – kind of a tough sell to end an alliance that has existed since the end of WW2 and was the lynchpin of the Cold War – but I guess it’s possible, if we just stop helping Ukraine vs Russia? So yeah – maybe Russia agrees to that
And we agree that Ukraine will not be be a part of NATO. This one is much is easier part of this plan, since we have been doing that for two decades now. Little lost on why it’s part of the bargain since it’s been happening for two decades but I guess Russia will see it as incentive…
Then China, who is not currently invading Taiwan, will no longer be a threat to invade Taiwan, bc China will not want a confrontation with the US like the confrontation the US just had with Russian, which the Russians ultimately won by receiving exactly what they wanted when they invaded Ukraine – but we do not have to worry about China seeing that as a win for our enemies, bc China does not make decisions by way of analogies – I think that’s what he said right?
I never thought of a geopolitical conflict this way. My assumption was always that China would see Russia win – with our consent, and think they can win too. But I did not consider that China rejects analogies. Good insight Vivek
So rather than deterring China by analogy, then China, who is not currently invading Taiwan, will not invade Taiwan – bc the US is now free to avoid a conflict on two fronts – and that is always what China has been banking on, even though it may not appear that way currently, bc China is not currently invading Taiwan while we are assisting Ukraine
In one fowl swoop, like Vivek says, it works out very smoothly for the US
for the first time China will be certain to give up their attempts to invade Taiwan, after Seeing us give up in Ukraine and seeing Russia increase their land
And now Russia having obtained Donbas region and grown more powerful, will cease to do business with China, presumably forever, even after receiving the benefit of the bargain and winning the Ukrainian war –
I doubt Russia breaks that deal and becomes more entrenched in Western Europe, even though selling arms to to China is an enormous source of revenue for Russia, and probably can help Russia continue to expand its territories, bc they agreed with us not to do business in China for Donbas – and everyone knows they just think the Donbas region is pretty and not a tactical and strategic effort by Russia to set themselves up for bigger things
And I getting this right?
One fowl swoop
Why didn’t anyone think of this first?
You can see he lives up to his own billing as very familiar with the geopolitical dynamic at play. I mean he’s smart so he he sounds like an expert but it’s not just superficial,
This is a really accomplished young man – obviously he made time to explore this dynamic while helping pharmaceutical companies develop the vaccine
I’m starting to come around too guys
One fell swoop…” (idiomatic) One stroke; one action or event that achieves or accomplishes many results.”

I don’t know if any of you people here have taken a good look into Vivek Ramaswamy. I’d guess that you haven’t, but maybe you should…
—————-
I’ve been looking into Vivek ever since he announced… and I REALLY like him. He’s sharp as a tack, he’s very charismatic, his values match mine, and he’s another ‘outsider’.
We probably agree on all of the above, but we won’t agree when I say he’d be the perfect VP pick for Trump. 😉
I can understand that many want a very high level of ‘decorum’ out of our president. Welp, we’ve had that from both parties for generations… a polished turd.
I seriously don’t GAF, so long as the president delivers. NOBODY has delivered as much as Trump. I’m able to overlook his arrogance upon delivering promises: the best economy in American history, no wars, peace achieved, more black folk and women in his admin than EVER BEFORE in American history, border security, reviving our military, making America the #1 exporter of energy, repealing BS policies, ending the NAFTA disaster, bringing jobs back to the USA, etc, etc…
Nobody, I say nobody (<– Foghorn Leghorn impersonation) can do what Trump can do (and has done) for America. JMO
Also at the 6:40 mark I think Vivek is spot on
Re-enter trade agreements with the Pacific, don’t do what Trump did and withdraw from the TPP
I guess the perception of that is dangerous bc it’s what Obama was doing before Trump ended it, but these things shouldnt be so political
It’s a question of supporting a global economy and rejecting nationalism as an excuse to avoid international agreements
Good idea Vivek
He has his own way of thinking. I have no problem with it. You can’t deny we’re weaker while trying to stop the conflict in Ukraine. No question he has a point with that. We can’t stop two superpowers at once, in fact, to be fair, I could argue we haven’t yet stopped Putin despite funneling billions of US dollars that way already, and likely more to go.
There’s nothing wrong with your own way of thinking
But at the end of today, whether anyone is saying it or Vivek is the first one to say it, when it comes to foreign threats to the US – the only important thing is to be right
We can’t stop 2 superpowers at once – that is solid logic I cannot deny
Phish So not fowl or foul?
Got it
No sarcasm intended – I promise
🤞
What do you think about his idea?
Fell not fowl or foul. But is a reference to the action of a bird of prey, so there is that.
All my pretty chickens and their dam at one fell swoop
That’s kinda Shakespeare-ish. But MacBeth spelled swoop with an e on the end
As for his idea, Shannon correctly pointed out that Donbas is not ours to give. And I don’t believe rewarding Russia would in any way affect their relationship with China.
She said that too
And his response is that China does not reason “based on analogy”
China reasons based on “hard power”
So that resolves that issues doesn’t it?
I don’t even know what that statement means.
It doesn’t mean anything. But he sounds good saying it.
I wish it were football season.
Go Dolphins.
Piggy – We never know who’s right and the real way we’re handling any of this geopolitical landscape. We never get the full, real story, we only get what they want to tell us. In general, all the superpowers pretty much respect each other and don’t want a world war that will destroy the planet, and that is what keeps the world going.
We don’t know what’s right
But what he is proposing is different to what we are doing now
And it’s different from what Trump did
And will obviously have consequences
While he doesn’t think the president of China cares for analogies, and that is some kind of world peace savior, one of his conservative rivals, not some crazy liberal like me, made an interesting fajita analogy at the start of the video – give it a listen
Comparing him to fajitas….lol…is not calling him a hack, but it’s kind of funny
I saw that. I eagerly look forward to the debates. I think he can make these udder guys look like fajitas, or just look stupid. We’ll see . . .
Mike
Truth be told, if some one posted a Biden video of his plans with Russia and Ukraine, there would be plenty of room to pick it apart
But I do think this idea Vivek puts forward on the video is very questionable – and I’m a little worried that That people will ignore the substantive holes bc he sounds good saying it
He’s gonna sounds really good at the debates, I’m sure of that
That fajita comment is kind of what I mean by hack
While we could defeat Russia in a head to head conflict, why? Better to let someone else bleed them. And yes, the USSR is gone, but Russia was the USSR and the USSR is Russia. I think we can beat China as well. While they have numbers, they really don’t have the means to project them.
Pigs – If someone put out that Biden had a theory on anything I’d be skeptical as all hell because he can’t chew gum and walk down the street at the same time.
He’s got a pretty good shake down theory 😜
What a concept to have ideas both sides can agree on
Maybe then congress can do the same
Some of his ideas are borderline no way of happening, but as long as he’s pointing us in the right direction, not arrogant and not being run by a Super Pac he should do fine
Like I said, he’s going to be different than almost every other candidate, which will differentiate himself from just being an also ran like the others. We’ll see what he’s made of, and if he really has any chance of becoming a legitimate candidate after the debates. He has a ridiculous task ahead of him, he’s a blip on the radar right now, he has to prove he’s a heavyweight that’s in this to win. The odds are against that.
Just wait until they start destroying his character.
Biden does have a theory on Corn Pop.
Vivek’s political ideology is quite literally the exact same as Trump’s. You’ll notice that Trump won’t say a bad word about Vivek, and vice-versa.
But “Fuck Trump”, right? SMH
It’s not about Trump’s ideology. He’s an asshole. 😂
Asshole or not, he put us Americans on the right path to security and prosperity… and I’m not sure that’s even debatable.
The Dolphins led the league in fewest percent of 3 and outs last year.
25% (tied with Lions)
Only 11 RBs averaged 4.9 ypc or more and 2 of those are Mostert and Wilson for Miami.
WHEN HEALTHY
Phelon, Just got me a PSA AR-10 Gen 3 .308. I put an ATN THOR 5 LRF 320 5-20X thermal scope on it. That’s as high as I could go on the scope, money wise.
My boss and I hooked up with 3 farmers in Alabama with night hunting depredation permits for deer and hogs. They are really tearing up the crops in south Alabama.
Going out Wednesday night this week. It’s going to be hot as hell, but fun at the same time as well as adding meat to the freezer. We will be donating the rest of the hogs we don’t keep.
Awesome…Palmetto is making some good rifles these days. I haven’t gotten into thermals yet, but they are great for hog hunting.
I really like the rifle. Can’t wait to get it out there. I didn’t know much about thermals but one of the main members of our hunt club owns 3 gun/outdoors stores. He recommended this brand. It’s nice!
M – I get you’re willing to overlook the fact that Trump is a despicable, deplorable human bring that most people can’t stomach, and that as President, he did a fair job. The problem is, there are too many other people, including those who would normally vote GOP that may end up either not voting or voting for a different candidate if Trump gets the GOP nomination. He won’t get enough votes from his own party let alone get Dems or others to cross the aisle and vote for him. His base is really strong, but too small to win a general election. We need a candidate that can get votes that would otherwise have gone to Biden. Trump ain’t that guy.
They see what Trump started and are trying to Piggyback off him, Vivek is a perfect example
Which is good, leading the party away from the cronie, corrupt party they used to be…establishment Republicans
Someone needs to do the same thing on the other side
I’m hoping they won’t be distractions to what McDaniel is trying to accomplish. Sieler probably less of one.
I assume Grier will handle all the contractual issues, but still it’ll be something the HC is forced to account for, for example the annoyance of developing contingency plans for not having your starting center in minicamp.
Maybe the cross training’ll pay off in case of injury.
Vivek’s policy is not identical to trump, there are major departures in the video above in some of the only times he discusses policy
Re-entering trade agreements in the pacific that Trump specifically pulled out of is the opposite of Trump’s policy
The TPP eliminated or reduced tariffs from imports from the pacific
This is a major departure from an “America First” or ‘Nationalist” approach to foreign policy
Vivek explains in his video that he wants to do this to combat China which he calls the #1 threat
This is not a difference in personalities or the way they present themselves – this is a 180 in American trade policy
Tariffs that make it harder to import goods are intended to stimulate manufacturing within the US which is a staple of trumps economic policy
Vivek describes himself as a devout nationalist, but entering trade agreements in the pacific to put economic pressure on China is antithetical to nationalism.
It’s actually consistent with why Obama wanted the TPP to exist
This might surprise you guys, but Biden’s policy on this is similar to Trump. Biden has not re-entered the TPP. So on this issue Biden is similar to trump and Vivek is similar to Obama. Mind blowing to some of you I guess
This distinction is not a minor difference. International trade and the way the US approaches it is the foundation of any economic policy
If Vivek wants to to enter trade agreements in the pacific then he does not want to use tariffs to stimulate manufacturing in the US – that’s the plain and simple trade off. Not a secret agenda or some secret elitist cabal. Presidents have serious decisions on these type of subjects. There is always pros and cons. When Obama promotes trade agreements – you see a corrupt international elitist cabal. When Vivek does the same, I guess not.
I’m surprised that some of you arent listening to him in his own words talking about his own policy and why it’s different. I think it’s great that vivek wants to re-enter international trade agreements and put pressure on breaking apart alliances like China and Russia.
But isn’t that a Globalization?
ouch
Josh Houtz says, ” I don’t know that I have words for how bad the Miami Dolphins tight end room is in Madden 24. Durham Smythe (68), being rated below Tyler Kroft (69), seems slightly disrespectful.”
Saubert is also at 68.
Connor is at 54 and they don’t even recognize the rookie as a TE.
That U75 doesn’t have a clue, he’ll see Gesicki last year as a big plus, but he doesn’t see the big picture for what the predominately block first TEs will do for the O
Madden rates Ramsey at 97 and the top CB in the league. Xavien is at 84, Kohou 76.
Yeah, Madden returned to their typical dolphins hate. (They even forced an update on ’23 after the season that made the Dolphins worse) Has Howard really fallen that far from where he was as one of the top CB’s all the way down to a “Mid” guy? They have “corrected” too many Dolphins player ratings down by way to much. They will be forced to increase all those guys during the season AGAIN this year.
They have Tua with a terrible deep pass accuracy when he was one of the best if not THE BEST in the league last year.
Steve, Josh Houtz didn’t create the rankings. He is just questioning the validity of them. Not sure how that makes him a U75….
I misread it, thought he was commenting negatively on how bad our TE room is
The good news about the madden ratings this year for the Dolphins is that we have the two fastest receivers (waddle and hill) and the 2 fastest Rbs (mostert and Achane) in the game
That’s gonna make the Dolphins pretty desirable to play online head to head
I’m actually worried about it
All these Johnny come latelies are gonna be able to put track team but I’ve been playing Dolphins on madden since ‘92 and suffered through trying to throw an accurate pass with QBs like Henne
We have the fastest receivers in the league, on 3rd down with 4 wide and a TE, who no one will cover ever in this situation, we’ll be able to slip him out late for easy 1st downs, just like Witten did all those years in Dallas
Sometimes it’s better to have no name TEs for this reason
I’m glad we have TEs that are block first types
I would say Fangio has the easiest job of our staff
To show improvement, they just need to line up, to be top 10 they may not have to do much more
I’ve seen many highlights of games where Ramsey locks down one side and makes the O struggle
I predict X has 6+ ints this year
https://www.espn.com/blog/miami-dolphins/post/_/id/34334/miami-dolphins-training-camp-preview-how-quickly-can-vic-fangio-turn-this-defense-around
Fingers crossed he stays healthy. I think the system change will add to his Interceptions organically. Instead of having his back to the QB in Man coverage so much he will be facing the QB in zone a lot more which will lend itself to his ball hawking. I think your prediction is a pretty safe one.
Many of X’s INTs came in zone or playing off man and jumping the route.
The talent is there they just have to do their jobs within the scheme.
Having a group of good blocking TEs will help the running game get going. That will make our passing game even more dangerous. It also allows us to use more 6 man protections not counting the RBs.
You can’t cover fast receivers for long, if we can get 6 in to block, that should give Tua plenty of time to find someone
Exactly!
I like the TEs as safety valves a lot, don’t think they’ll be doing too much straight out routes, mostly after blocking/chipping
Yep similar to what the fullback used to do.
Change it up though, sometimes the RB will stay in to block, then FB, then TE
Mix the running game in and it’s very hard to stop
Week to week things will change, the bread and butter plays won’t, hopefully we have some bread and butter plays like the Eagles had last year
I think that’s McDaniel’s plan. Show similar formations and do different things. We might use a bread and butter formation that has 12 different plays we can run both run and pass.
I hate the fact that our first game of the season is not at 1pm
That’s a good 7-8 hours of anticipation in opening weekend that morning
Gonna be watching the 1pm games like
It’s in LA. Isn’t it a 4 game?
**4:25PM
Usually this is the Fins luck!
Oh man that sucks.
That is great news! Take it slow guys. Be mindful while you come back.
I think he’s a good fit as Fangio’s box safety. He’s a versatile guy and an aggressive player.
I love it when you talk football!
😂🥰😳🐬🏈❤️
Lol…ditto
I wonder how much the “stupid tax” was for Hill….
50 grand probably did it.
So Musk is changing Twitter to “X” ? as in the X social network?
And the beat goes on… and the beat goes on. Who cares?!!!
Local news story
“Women who fish are happier than those who don’t.”
Yeah, we’ve been telling y’all.
Men too
Lmao…whatever
Did anyone see Messi’s magic in Miami?
Oh my…lol.
It was fucking impressive…imo
Congrats to UK and USA for winning their first matches.
In World Cup!
Unlike football….not on a world stage.
Saudi’s are all in on sportwashing’s…lmao
We haven’t filled our open roster spots. Surprised I have not even heard them working anyone out either to fill those 2 spots. Looks like we are going to start camp with 88 players.
I’ve known about the ’21 DV case, but this is the first I’ve heard of a possible suspension… and this is 2 days old…
I don’t think he’s getting his 10m
Teams had to have known
100% agreed, my guy.

M – I get you’re willing to overlook the fact that Trump is a despicable, deplorable human bring that most people can’t stomach, and that as President, he did a fair job. The problem is, there are too many other people, including those who would normally vote GOP that may end up either not voting or voting for a different candidate if Trump gets the GOP nomination…
—————
Thank you for being a cool cat regarding this discussion: props! 😀
Yeah, I know that Trump can be/is a big asshole… I totally understand where you and others are coming from, trust. Me… I’m a result-oriented individual, hence my football views (go figure! LOL).
However, I feel that recent revelations are bringing Trump back, full circle. I’m not so sure he’s as unpopular as some may think. I don’t trust polling data (so there’s that), but look at the polling data… Trump is over 50 points ahead of DeSantis in some polls.
Hey, perhaps you are correct… but I’m not there yet… and I feel many, many millions aren’t there yet either.
In the meantime, I AM heeding warnings, including from yourself. And just to reiterate, I really DO like Vivek thus far. I’ll have to delve into what the Pigster was talking about earlier (thank you, Pigster!), and thanks to everybody for keeping it all civil.
Cool beans M!
#RESPECT!
Has anybody here seen the movie ‘Oppenheimer’? If so, what’s your opinion?
I’m headed to see it later this week and looking forward to it. I’ve studied J. Robert Oppenheimer over the years and find him to be an extraordinarily curious historical individual.
If you haven’t seen this documentary already, I highly suggest viewing it… I’ve got it on DVD, but you can probably stream it nowadays–> https://www.pbs.org/wgbh/americanexperience/films/oppenheimer/
I’m still trying to figure out the Barbie movie.😂
Lmao
The herpes look
😆
hey all look just thrilled to be modeling them! LOL
Just sayin’… keep your eyes on DJ Fluker and Reuben Foster. Both guys look like brand-new people.
Haven’t played a game yet and patriots are losing the off-season
Oh my 🤐
I heard they like to skip and sing.🤪
Who?
Me when she compliments my shoes…
Man, this will be the first training camp in years without the twitter feed on Phins to find all the daily tweets for me. I guess you have to have an account to view the “X” website now that it’s been rebranded?

This is what Si Clancy said:
Just to put my thoughts into perspective…I enjoyed Barbie too😜
I was just talking about our schedule this year with a coworker (Dallas fan) and I didn’t realize consciously that we played the cowboys this year…. (Duh, as I have looked at the schedule several times) I just went through it again a few minutes ago and I am not as confident as I thought I was. If that makes sense?
My record prediction as of this morning with nothing changing since the end of minicamps, etc is as follows:
LWWLWWLWLWLWWWLLW – 10-7 Wild Card
we split with the Jets and Bills and sweep the Pats.
Loss to LAC, Buff, Eagles, KC, NYJ, Dal, Balt
I hope I am wrong on the amount of losses and we squeak out a couple of these and don’t lose any of my W predictions.
I can’t watch the video because they have blocked them at work now. (angry sounds) but this seems an interesting headline.
https://dolphinstalk.com/2023/07/dalvin-cook-says-he-does-not-have-an-offer-from-miami/
I wonder if there was an offer or if it was not true or if it changed somehow or was a time limited offer or something. The headlines definitely said there was an offer previously. Who is lying?
“I didn’t… no, that wasn’t true. It’s ongoing with my agents and everybody. They’re going through their whole negotiation thing, doing their thing, and I’m going to let them take care of that.”
So he says “no” but means “yes”? If they are going through the negotiations then there has been an offer. You cannot negotiate without one…
Am I the only person who feels the whole “The Dolphins are a contender as long as Tua stays healthy” is a bunch of BS? I don’t mean that it’s not true, but rather it is true for most every team in the NFL.
I don’t hear Cincinnati is a contender as long as Burrow stays healthy or KC as long as Mahomes stays healthy. Because Tua had concussions last year doesn’t make it more likely that he will this year. It just doesn’t work that way.
I want that BS narrative to go by the wayside with a 17-21 game season from Tua this year.
How do you feel about Armstead playing 17 games?
Until they play a full season…
It’s not like flipping a coin
hope is a nasty 4 letter word…
Sherfield was a find for us last year after Wilson flopped, he made some big plays, wouldn’t call his season as a #3 WR promising going forward though
Would you rather have Sherfield or Chosen and Berrios or Sherfield and 1 of the 2?
I like what we have, Sherfield to me doesn’t really add much
Berrios at least will be a PR and Chosen can open up our O, when both Waddle and Hill are doubled
I don’t think it was a coincidence that Grier paired a WR, that’s been catching all catchable balls deep with a QB that has a top QB rating on deep balls
Don’t know much about the player other than he has an overly inflated sense of self worth (Chosen my ass) but from the little I’ve seen I would take Chosen and Berrios over Sherfield.
My pre-camp roster prediction:
Tua Tagovailoa, Skylar Thompson, Mike White (3)
Raheem Mostert, Jeff Wilson Jr., De’Von Achane, Myles Gaskin (4)
Tyreek Hill, Jaylen Waddle, Robbie Chosen Anderson, Cedrick Wilson Jr., Braxton Berrios, Erik Ezukanma. (6)
Durham Smythe, Alec Ingold, Eric Saubert, Tanner Conner, Tyler Kroft (5)
Terron Armstead, Austin Jackson, Kendall Lamm, Isaiah Wynn, Cedric Ogbuehi, Connor Williams, Robert Hunt, Liam Eichenberg, Dan Feeney, Robert Jones (10)
Offense: 28
Emmanuel Ogbah, Christian Wilkins, Zach Sieler, Raekwon Davis, Brandon Pili (5)
Jaelan Phillips, Bradley Chubb, Andrew Van Ginkel, Malik Reed. (4)
Jerome Baker, David Long Jr., Duke Riley, Channing Tindall. (4)
Jalen Ramsey, Xavien Howard, Cam Smith, Kader Kohou, Justin Bethel (5) (Nik Needham on PUP to start)
Jevon Holland, Brandon Jones, DeShon Elliott, Elijah Campbell. (4) (V. Mckinney to PS)
Defense: 22
Jason Sanders, Michael Turk, Blake Ferguson. (3)
Total ST – 3
This was a LOT harder than I thought when I started looking at it. I FEEL unbalanced. Like I need more Defense, but I think we need all the offensive guys listed. MAYBE we put Skylar on the PS and keep Keion Crossen, Trill Williams or Noah Igbinoghene.
Probably weren’t very serious about obtaining him if this is true
I got a feeling we aren’t getting 10 players on the list
But I expect to see hill, waddle & Ramsey
Seems like the league doesn’t value Holland like most of us fans do
Now sure about Howard, Phillips or Chubb
But that’s basically our team
Great CBS, Edge players and WRs
I can’t think of any team with so many good duos like this
And also Wilkins, Tua and Holland
If some one else, a RB, some OL, a LB can elevate themselves to be in this caliber this year
Woop Woop!
Also Tunsil is 85 on the list
Can we have him back please….
“you mad you mad you mad HA HA! “
For the blog
I think our offer to Cook was simply a job offer. Not what he’s looking for but still an offer.
Okay so Cook is denying he received an offer from the Dolphins and didn’t turn one down.🤔
They’re all coming off of injuries so nothing too concerning.
Did all see the incident with Hernandez’s brother?
Haven’t seen anything 🤷♂️
If Cook is facing a DV suspension, I cancel my interest.
Fournette?
RE the TE ratings on Madden:
That’s a rating of TE skills by someone who doesn’t appreciate the blocking component and downgrades those who aren’t pure seam threats downfield.
ESPECIALLY
with McDaniel as HC.
Want Proof? We cut Gesicki in favor of Saubert and Kroft.
So yeah go ahead and call those 2 out for not being seam threats,
but that makes Madden ratings purely individual,
and our HC/FO is building a TEAM.
No need for me to repeat what Steve and Pig said so well above about the TE blocking in the McDaniel offense,
But I’m on record weeks ago saying Kroft might turn out to be an extremely underrated signing.
Both he and Saubert have good hands and run disciplined routes, which is vital in this offense to maintain spacing and not bring a LB into the WR patterns.
I think that lawyer release is about as good of an outcome as we can hope for at this point. More remains to be seen, but at least the “injured party” is not seeking $1.5M in damages or some shit like that.
Didn’t see Brandon Jones put on the PUP so that bodes well for him
There was a report the other day that said he’s good to go.
LeBron’s son suffered cardiac arrest on the court today.
sons texted me that … weird and awful oocurence
Scary and sad. Hope he’s okay.
There sure as hell have been a lot of cardiac arrests and myocarditis in young athletes post-COVID. The numbers are staggering.
These stories that come out..”Dolphins Tried To Trade For Saquon Barkley” etc can probably be said about every team. Our front office probably reached out to see if the Giants were going to trade him. It is called Due Diligence and a GM would be committing malpractice if they didn’t at least take a look. We looked into Cook too and probably others.
^
It’s fucking insane. $50+ Mil per year contracts.
It’s good to be the QB.
And not so good to be the piss-boy (RB). 🙂
😂

Your majesty, it is said that the peasants are revolting.
You are right! They stink on ice!
LOL
Anybody here see History of the World, Part II? It’s streaming on Hulu! I’ve not seen it.
It’s a series, not a movie, if ya didn’t already know.
Quite seriously, DJ Fluker is in the very best shape of his life right now. I’d sign him to a vet minimum contract… who wouldn’t?
Rock
when picking victories,
don’t forget that our DC was an Offensive “consultant” for Philly just last year.
or something like that
anyway, he was intimately involved in the development of that team and its success
He might have some tips for our HC and OC and DC, oh wait, he IS our DC.
Fangio has been in the business a long time and has coached in big games. There is plenty of experience he can share with coaches and players.
How does a guy like Fangio fail so bad as HC in Denver?
Guess some can only coach one side of the ball
