Unfortunately for the Miami Dolphins, the above image is more representative of Jalen Ramsey than him actually being in a Miami Dolphins uniform on a Gameday Sunday. Ramsey went down in practice holding his knee, and it’s clear it’s the meniscus. What’s not perfectly clear is how bad the damage is, and how complex the surgery will be. Apparently there are two ways this can go. If the damage isn’t too sever, they may be able to trim the ligament and tighten it up. That’s the best case scenario. This would have Ramsey back in about 8 weeks from today, meaning he’d only miss a few weeks of the season, maybe the first quarter. The reality though is that it’s more likely they will have to fully repair the meniscus, which would mean Ramsey will miss the majority of the season, and at best, could return some time in December.
Well, many of us scratched our head when the Dolphins selected CB with the 51st pick (RD 2) in the 2023 NFL Draft out of South Carolina. Now that move looks brilliant, and he may be leaned on to have some serious playing time. He’s currently #2 on the depth chart at LCB behind Xavien Howard. This injury may change all that. Smith won’t be thrust into the position without earning it though. Last year’s UDFA rookie CB Kader Kohou and Keion Crossen, as well as Trill Williams will be in the mix. There’s also potential for a trade or vet signing. Kohou who was slotted for Nickel back rose to every challenge, much like Nik Needham did in previous seasons. Needham is coming off an injury of his own, and we may need him back quicker than expected due to this injury. Needham is currently on the PUP list, but that doesn’t mean he can’t be available for the season’s start.
We know the defense is in good hands with Vic Fangio at the helm of Defensive Coordinator. This defense will still be formidable without Jalen Ramsey, but Ramsey could have elevated it to special. As always in this sport, it’s next man up, so either the rookie Cam Smith will have to bite quicker than expected, or someone else will have to step up. We’ll know later today the severity of the injury for Jalen Ramsey and his prognosis going forward. I’m not optimistic, I prefer to be realistic and assume he’s either done for the season, or potentially available to make a very late season push. Even in the latter scenario, it’s not like you can just expect him to hit the field in December like nothing happened. The realist (pessimist?) in me is expecting the worst possible news and we may just have to add another DB to the mix. I hope I’m wrong and for once, we catch a break and Ramsey will be fine to play in October. Fingers crossed!
GO DOLPHINS!!!

Good write up Mike
But I kind of think Rappaports reporting yesterday on the likely extent of the damage was speculative
My understanding is that the extent of the repair is decision made during the surgery
And that’s the difference between the 6-8 week timetable and December availability
Rappaport said something like the full repair was safer
I’m just not sure that a surgeon or Ramsey will take that approach to it
We will see
In the most positive scenario if Ramsey misses 6 weeks
That’s very little of the actual season
It’s like 2 games in September, isn’t it?
We need ham
What Crossen injury???
I wondered that too-!
I have said it before and I will say it again.
FUCK DISNEY!
In 1958 Walt Disney produced a nature documentary titled “White Wilderness”, which featured a segment on lemmings, detailing their tendencies to commit mass suicide. Lemmings do not commit mass suicide. Disney pushed them off cliffs to create the scene.
Good write up MikeE!
When Lwnmings hear about this
On crossen
And this
I think Jackson just meant that he’s missed practice but it doesn’t sound like he has a serious injury
Now go jump off a cliff you fucking Lemmings !
Thank you, Mike E.! And current, too….lol.
Thanks, Mike E!
All 4 AFCE in the top 12 in NFL. Jets D is stout.
Ramsey’s surgery happening right now . . .
Piggy – yeah, I don’t believe Crossen suffered a new injury
Good write Mike and I feel the same way as you about Ramsey. Hopefully we get the best possible news soon.
So our O-Line gave up 12 sacks today… ugh. While that is never a good thing, just a friendly reminder: at this stage in camp, the Defense always has the advantage over the Offense.
The O-Line naturally needs gel-time, so there’s nothing to read into it… yet.
They’re also not in pads so it’s basically just guys running around.
They’re not even in pads yet. This means less than nothing
This is also true.
You’d think Barry has been around long enough to make all of these points. A casual fan would think the sky is falling for our O-Line.
A RARE tweet from Tua himself!
I’m very impatiently awaiting word on Ramsey’s surgery…
The blog if we find out Ramsey is out through December or longer
(Through the lens of Walt Disney)
I guess if he comes back in December we will all be thankful for his contributions
we won’t see him this season. Sigh…
If it’s only 6 weeks
Damn😩
Noah I with more 2nd chances than a politician’s son
YUP! LOL, exactly!
Cam Smith, all eyez on you, young man.
He seems like the type of dude that will absolutely accept the challenge.
Yessir, seems he has the ‘dog’ in him.
We are about to find out fellas!
So if Ramsey is back by December 17th, we’ll have him for the stej, Bills, and Patsies* down the stretch. That’s the silver lining.
I’m thinking Dec 1…lol
▪ In 11-on-11 drills, the quarterbacks were under constant pressure (with Bradley Chubb, Duke Riley and Christian Wilkins leading the way), and not many passes were attempted downfield. The Dolphins ran a lot of blitzes, and those were largely responsible for the pass rush. Miami defenders had at least 12 sacks.

Ramsey is out until December- this is what was thought yesterday; but confirmed today. I was anticipating this to be the case based on what Rappaport tweeted.
I’m thinking we’ll see Ramsey next season. He has to do the right thing for himself here, totally understandable. Guys are going to have to ball out. Hope Fangio can bring out the best of what we have left.
We won’t see Ramsey play this year. He’s done. Why would he? He can stay home and get paid the same money.
By all accounts, if he stays out until a December that will be enough time for him to be 100%. Barring a setback, the only way I don’t see him playing this season is if the Dolphins are out of the playoff hunt by the time he’s scheduled to come back.
BB Mike – toss your cookies pal
Ramsey doesn’t seem the type to sit if he can play.
He’s already posted that he’s looking forward to contributing to the late season push.
11/24 vs stej
I’m hoping he’ll be available for that and we play them a few weeks later at home. This is the second game after the bye. I agree with that being we are in contention looking at the last 7 games to determine our destiny.
December 3 is week 13 (12 for us as we’ll have had our bye).
We are at the Commanders.
We can probably beat them without Ramsey,
since their weakest position might be QB.
So I’d sit him for that game,
especially since we don’t play again until the next MNF game.
That one is home against the Titans.
We can probably beat them without him as well,
so I’d hold him out until the jest game on 12/17.
That’s 17 weeks from now. That’s 4 solid months.
He should be ready by then.
Anybody know how extensive is the rehab they do for a meniscus?
Beer to Son
I’m just hoping we get more games out of him.
Depends…too little info impo
The Eagles game the week after the Fest on 10/22 is the Sunday Night game
Tua vs Hurts as the marquee matchup. We’ll have just beat the Giants two weeks prior.

Just kidding, I wonder if someone actually has that email 🤷♂️
LOL, son. The Memphis pipeline has dwindled a bit.
Yeah it has. Credit you man you were on it while they had it.

Dr. Dre – The Next Episode (feat. Snoop Dogg, Nate Dogg & Kurupt)
While it’s entirely possible that Dre — for the first time in his entire career — may have cleared this sample with the McCallum camp, it further demonstrates that Dre can’t make his own music… and he never could.
Here’s a version of “Creep” you may not have heard yet.
That was great. And creepy
You can apply it to most…lol…carry on the bullshit
I don’t see how you rehab a meniscus or put a timetable on it…it’s basically a gelatinous encapsulated by ligaments injury…
a pad doesn’t need rehabbing…ligaments need time to reshape/reform to close to original….so it depends
Ramsey won’t need depends. That’s Joe, the Big guy
Oh you meant prognosis that does depend. Fortunately it’s still July.
Lol…
Terribly written….sorry…..
…typically ligaments have a much longer healing process.
I’ve had the meniscus trim. Rehab for that was rub some dirt on it. Drop the cane two days after surgery (scoped), start doing no weight squats and stretches. Running in 5 days.
Don’t know about the stitches or what exactly they did.
There you go…then test it….on a football field….
The news is terrible about this….it’s an internal thing…not even close to talking heads’ bullhit
M13, here’s a new one by DAX. I know you are not a fan of autotune but powerful message in this one.
Nice.. true dat
Oops
M13, I will shoot you an email to your SS when I get to work tonight. Gotta get my nap in.
I saw Don Felder at Seaworld last Saturday. He was really good. Played all Eagles songs and the music is great, the band was awesome, but you begin to understand why the Eagles never let him sing, just saying.

LOL @ BBM’s “Creep”. He’s pretty darn creepy, Joe is.
They (politicians) are all creepy..lol
True that, most are
Why can’t we have nice things?
Hey there ER! Good to see ya! We can have some nice things, hopefully enough nice things

Everything is on the up and up.
Life turned over, flipped upside down but we back baby!
Now let’s get rid of the injuries already. Season hasn’t even started!
Hey ER! Good to see you back. 🙂
Thank you!
Jalen Ramsey with a great message:
Anyone remember this one?
You can play this year off of meniscus surgery in August. ACL you’re done for the year.
X, Kohou, Smith, Williams, Iggy and at some point Needham is pretty solid. Bethel is a versatile vet. Not sure what’s up with Crossen but he’s in the mix too. We’ve done a good job adding depth in the secondary overall.
ER is in the house!🙂
I came back for the Lombardi!

Miami Dolphins Stock Report (Day 3)
Four Dolphins defenders produced multiple-sack performances during the defense-dominated practice session Friday
OMAR KELLY15 HOURS AGO
Sometimes teams have statement games, efforts that send a message to the entire league.
The Miami Dolphins defense delivered a statement practice Friday, a day after losing All-Pro cornerback Jalen Ramsey for an extended stretch because of a left knee meniscus injury.
Defensive coordinator Vic Fangio unleashed the team’s blitz packages, and Miami’s defense used the pressures to choke out the offense, recording at least a dozen sacks during 11-on-11 sessions.
It was a Oprah-level “You get a sack. You get a sack” type of day.
I hadn’t seen that level of defensive dominance in years, going back to those infamous Ryan Tannehill practices, where his dismal pocket presence led to sack-filled sessions.
For the record, you’re going to get a different sack account from numerous media outlets because we all see plays differently, especially when players aren’t being taken to the ground.
Lost me on the Oprah comment….lol
Some people split sacks (I don’t). Some allow would-be sacks to be counted as throws (I do if it’s close). However, we all came to a consensus that there were a dozen would-be sacks, and that Duke Riley, Christian Wilkins, Zach Sieler and Bradley Chubb each recorded at least two.
Top performers
1. ILB Duke Riley – I’m giving Riley the nod as the day’s top performer because his blitzes, which by my count produced three sacks, set the tone for the day. The offense didn’t make a single adjustment to pick him up during those early 11-on-11 periods, and it was clear the offensive linemen were getting chewed out because of it. We’re told that Riley also performed his new song inside the locker room before practice.
2. OLB Bradley Chubb – Chubb was the orange jersey player from the Thursday practice, so the fact that he doubled up on a strong performance with two sacks indicates that he’s becoming more comfortable in his new surroundings, playing for Fangio, his former head coach. It’s important to see Chubb step up in the two practices that Jaelan Phillips missed because of a lower leg injury.
3. DT Christian Wilkins – Because we were inside the bubble and the offense was working close to where we were perched, the media got a sampling of the smack talk Wilkins gives his opponents regularly. It was animated and vicious! Right when the offense was gaining a little confidence after a respectful Jeff Wilson run — which Chubb swears would have been good for 2 yards (I disagree) — Wilkins became a force, and got louder with every play he made. He was manhandling Miami’s O-linemen all practice. There was one play he made late in the session where he threw right tackle Austin Jackson into Tua Tagovailoa and there was a collision.
Stock down: Dolphins centers
Dan Feeney and Alama Uluave both had errant snaps that could have produced turnovers. But that wasn’t the biggest issue the position had. Centers and quarterbacks are responsible for line calls, and all three Dolphins O-lines were unprepared for the blitzes they faced. There’s no excuse for interior players like Riley having free runs at the quarterbacks all practice. The protections should have been adjusted. I’m assigning blame to the centers as a group, and that includes Connor Williams. This issue must get fixed yesterday.
I am looking forward to Williams being out there this year. I was excited to see him until he went down.
You talking about Trill? Same here, if so. He was balling in camp before going down.
Yep. Talking about Trill
The elephant has returned 👍😊. Hope all is well agin sir !!
Yeah, our friend elephantrider was riding him …..😏
I think people forget how good Chubb is bc eve try one is excited about Philips and ge hasn’t been healthy the last couple of years
But Chubb has always been a beast going back to college
His best year on the pros is his rookie year but I wouldn’t be surprised to see him return to a 12 sack form
Nope
Oh sure…sign me up…what could go wrong?
😂
I read a blurb that we’re working out CBs because of Ramsey’s injury. I don’t know any names because I didn’t open the article.
Just camp bodies

It’s 900 degrees on the surface of Venus,

And his rockets are leftover 4th of July fireworks.
But he hired a Cessna training pilot to fly it,
so what could go wrong?
😂
No thank you…
We may need him, we’ll see. Gotta have depth
I like Ronald Darby, but he’s another guy coming off an injury
He definitely struggles but he’s a top athlete and really good corners at this stage of the year are not available.
Apple is a better zone CB than a man/press. He is much better playing facing the QB which is what he did a lot with the Saints, I believe. He still has some speed also.
Makes me think Trill and Needham are quite not where they want them to be, at least for the start of the season.
Is Trill not practicing?
I believe Trill is practicing.
Depth and he can play a role.
May not look good for Crossen with his zero dead cap hit if cut at the end of TC. Will save 3.1 mil.
I like Trill a lot, but he only appeared briefly in 1 NFL game. He really has no regular season NFL game time experience.
Hopefully he continues where he left off.

Can we finally discuss the Elephant in the room? lol
lol
Free-agent RB Ezekiel Elliott visits with Patriots on Saturday
Elliott left the building without a deal, but the two sides will stay in touch, NFL Network Insider Ian Rapoport reported.
Eli Apple?
Seriously, think about it…
De’Von Achane
D.A.
*D*A*N*(-te) *A*’=R*C*H*E*’=R*
Dan(te) “Dri” Archer
D.A.
Both are 5’9″
175 lbs –> 185 lbs over 5 years
Both are fast as funk, but Achane (or shall I say Dri) lost just a little speed over 5 years
Archer went back to college at Texas A&M, clearly, after gaining 10 pounds of muscle. However, he changed his name to Achane.
Archer came from VENICE, Florida (we all know that Venice is in Italy). So take the V in Venice and the I in Italy, and you get the V in De’Von and the I in Dri. Additionally, V is Roman for 5… and it was 5 years between Dri’s retirement in 2015 to “De’Von’s” arrival at A&M.
YES, Achane is actually Dri Archer!!! 😆 😀 🙂
Hopefully he’s a lot better.😉
YUP! LOL
“BULLSHIT OR NOT… on this station”
😆
Amazon Women on the Moon is CLASSIC!!!
WOAH!!!
Tough times for RBs.
Man, is it ever. I was happy to see Saquon get a 1-year deal with the G-Men, at least.
Here is Jonathan Allen’s contract… in the event we may trade for him…
https://www.spotrac.com/nfl/indianapolis-colts/jonathan-taylor-47636/
As an NFL purist, I don’t like where this is going for the RB position. I mean, there will ALWAYS be a need for a solid RB, even after the NFL became pass-happy: the pendulum swings both ways.
When Defenses become too fast, agile, and weaker in strength in order to protect against the pass, the RB position becomes VERY important — it’s just the ebb and flow of the game.
Don’t follow trends, LEAD the trend.
A balanced Offense will always keep a team in the game. That’s why teams like the Stealers* (as much as I despise them) are always relevant, year after year after year.
Same goes for a balanced Defense.
I, for one, believe that we’re about to be that balanced team, on both sides of the ball. My only concern? The O-Line, as per usual… and NOT based on camp reports so early this season.
AYE!!! Elephant Rider is back!!!
Welcome back, Bro!!!
Dang I think Apple is leaky, but Fangio might like his game.
I agree that Apple is leaky, but I don’t like the person. He’s a loud-mouthed punk who can’t stay off of social media. Maybe if he trained as much as he used his Twittering device, he could be a decent player.
Even so, yes… I think Fangio may be able to transform him into something way better than he already is (which is vastly underwhelming). I hope the same for Iggy under Fangio.
Apple is leaky… like applesauce.
The RB position is still important they just don’t want to pay them.
Curious as to why that is all of a sudden. 30 years old used to be the ‘buyer beware’ label (“the wrong side of 30”). Now, it’s around 27 years old.
While I fully understand the RB position is a young man’s position, what suddenly happened? I don’t get it.
I mean, medical advances/technology have been able to repair things (ie: ACL injuries/tears) that have rendered RBs glue-factory material in past decades. If anything, you’d think the life of an NFL RB is getting LONGER, not shorter.
I don’t have an answer, but I’m trying to find the answer… WHY?
Bad contracts starting with Gurley.
M – it’s a strange situation. Teams pay for WR’s that don’t do as much as RB’s. My best guess is the trade value just isn’t going to be there if a RB has a high contract. Plus, these RB’s just take a beating, especially those that get tons of touches. Those are the ones that want top money as they’re grinding their bodies to dust. It’s a shame. They’re also relatively easily replaceable, which is another reason
Yep!
I think the vision for the OL this year is…
LT Armstead
LG Eichenberg/Feeney
OC Williams
RG Hunt
RT Jackson/Wynn
OT Lamm depth
We’ll see if we find a sleeper like Hayes or someone. I think he moves to guard in the NFL.
“🥹 Monday practice gone be fun,” Hill wrote on Twitter after the news broke.
Roasting Apple all day?
Lol
Especially after practicing against Ramsey…oh my
I’d love to have Taylor (wanted us to draft him or Swift that year), but I’m done trading and losing draft picks and then handing out monster contracts. That’s a recipe for disaster, and we are flirting with it now.
We got Iggy instead (and Hunt I believe).
Yeah. I wish Iggy would have worked out.
BIL and kids at training camp…says it’s packed….nice
Why would we trade for Taylor when we could have just signed Cook?
^
Zach Thomas leads them out….that’s cool!
I’m in. Let’s go!
Nice!
Signed football by Kader Kohou for nephew! Fucking awesome! New fan for Kader…lol
Oh wow that’s really cool
Kader bit as a pup…we shall see…lol
Thanks M and Toba!
And to everyone!
Let’s have a great year!

OT Isaiah Wynn was activated off the reserve/physically unable to perform list, the team announced.
CB Eli Apple’s one-year contract was made official by the club on Sunday.
RB Dalvin Cook is scheduled to visit the Jets today. Cook on Friday said the odds are “pretty high” he signs with New York.
I thought he visited the Jets already.
I don’t think so
He stayed and watched the Jets practice today.
We are not trading for or signing a RB. We like our RB room
