It appears as if the Dolphins avoided a major disaster, losing LT Terron Armstead for an extended period of time after getting injured in practice, his first snap actually. Armstead left the field barely putting on any weight on the leg that was injured, but he says he’ll be ready for game #1, and there is no major injury requiring surgery. Now that we got that out of the way, there are a few things I want to see in preseason. Most importantly, NO MORE INJURIES!!! I would like to see CB Cam Smith continue to get important reps and show he’s serious about getting plenty of reps in the regular season. Backup QB’s Mike White and Skylar Thompson just have to do better. We know neither of them are going to run this offense as crisply and effectively as Tua, but we need them to be competent enough to put points on the board. I’m really hoping we see better play from both of these guys.
I would really like to see RB Chris Brooks get more carries, and see if we may possibly have something there. He’s not the prototype “big back” like Tennessee’s Derrick Henry, but compared to the stable of RB’s we have here in Miami, Brooks looks huge! I feel like all our RB’s are so close in running style and especially stature, that it would be nice to have a big back like Brooks make the team. Brooks is 6′ 223, while the lot of Mostert (5’10 205), Wilson (6′ 210), Ahmed (5’11 197), Gaskin (5’10 199) and Achane (5’9 188) are all very similar size wise. Yes, we have FB Alec Ingold who’s a load at 6’1 240, but Ingold has only 21 carries in 4 years in the NFL for a reason. Of course, the 4 best guys will make the team, this much I get, but I hope Brooks shows enough to be viewed as a possibilty to make the roster.
I’m curious to see more of LG Lester Cotton. He was great in practice, he had some very dominant reps, so I would love to see that dominance in game play, even if it’s a preseason game. It doesn’t matter what round you were drafted in on the O-line, if you can move people, you’re going to get noticed. Would I love Liam Eichenberg to play like the guy we hoped he could be when we moved up in the 2nd RD of the 2021 NFL at pick #42 to get him, of course, but at this point, I just want someone competent, and hungry for the job. If it’s Lester Cotton, who is actually 3rd string at RG, or Isaiah Wynn who is a veteran as well, I don’t care as long as they play well.
The competition at DT is pretty intense with DT’s Brandon Pili and Jaylen Twyman, Most importantly though, we need to get through the negotiations and sign DT/DE Christian Wilkins to a long term deal and keep him in Miami for another 6 years. He’s been an exemplary player, hard worker who brings it every week. Once Wilkins is signed the next up should be DT/DE Zach Sieler. There are some good battles at LB as well, with guys like Mitchell Agude, Mike Rose, and Aubrey Miller. It’s no given that last year’s 2nd RD pick LB Channing Tindall is a lock to make the roster, how these guys play on special teams could be the key to making the 53. BTW, the pronounced demise of the Mac was a bit premature. It’s slow, and uncooperative at times, and I do need to get a new one, but this article was written on the Mac, so LONG LIVE THE MAC!
GO DOLPHINS!!!

M, I see the Colts released DT McTelvin Agim. He made their initial 53 but then was released a day later.

Definitely somebody to kick the tires on.
Guys, I’ve been talking about how Dems (mainly Obama) have taken control of BIG CORPORATIONS from the Reps for nearly 15 years now. George Soros helped to achieve as much in large part, along with several others (Klaus Schwab and the WEF were in on it as well). I saw it happening in real time from the inside out.
This is largely why we’ve witnessed a political polar shift since the GWB years.
I’m not making a political statement here, just a very acute observation.
Rockphin is 100% correct in his last post, that corporations are now running the show. They don’t run the government (yet), but they are coming dangerously close to it. Crony capitalism is here, out of control, and it will destroy this great country if left unchecked.
I will correct one point. HERE they don’t rule openly here. Oligarchs rule directly in many countries
^
and you are being foolish if you think it’s only the “Dems”
Naw, I’m certainly NOT saying it’s only the Dems, believe me, Bro. It’s the ‘uni party’. GWB, Mitt Romney, Mitch McConnell, Lindsay Graham, and a whole lot more stink alike.
And I can’t forget John McCain.
It’s not close to only the dems
The 2018 tax cuts are undeniably beneficial to large corporations and that was pushed through by republicans
And it’s not just the guys you call RINOS like GWB and Romney
Trump signed the 2018 tax cut
There has been no legislation more geared to help Corp American than that law
There are democrats proposing we repeal those tax cuts, tax interest in stock investments and enact a wealth tax
Is there any Republican legislation like that. By any Republican – event the “America first” types
I credit Tim for opening my eyes to the “duopoly”, as he calls it. It took me a little bit to get it, but he is 100% correct. Thank you, Tim.
Pigster,
I never thought I’d say this, but I’m finding myself agreeing with ya as it pertains to ‘trickle-down economics’, AKA, tax cuts for the wealthy. Why? Corporate greed has gotten WAY out of control.
NOT saying that I agree with ya 100%, but I’m seeing why ya feel that way. Again, I blame crony capitalism… and BOTH PARTIES are guilty of as much. It also seems to be getting worse every day.
Greed seems to rule the day any longer… it’s sad. 😦

Hey, SB7! Good to see ya here, Bro!
Catching up on today’s football news…
I very much like our practice squad and nearly all of the moves we’ve made to date. I still don’t like the acquisition of Mike White as our potential backup QB, but it is what it is.
The success of our Offense will be dictated by the health of Tua and the strength of our O-Line… both in pass-blocking and run-blocking, IMO. We have weapons galore, but if our O-Line shrinks, it will do us no good. Keep Tua upright and open holes for our RBs.
The success of our Defense will be dictated by how quickly our Defensive roster can pick up Vic Fangio’s playbook, IMO. The Jalen Ramsey injury really sucks, but on paper, we still have the ability to become a top-5 Defense without him. WITH him, we could become the top Defense in the NFL… dreaming of a November return.
It’s about time for us to submit our predictions for our final regular season predictions.

The biggest corporations in America and in the world are over bloated governments with ties to large independent corporations. This idea that free market capitalism is the problem is propaganda. It’s narcissistic people who just like vampires have a thirst for power and gluttony. They’re attached at the hip. It’s not about free market capitalism vs. some sort of bleeding heart socialism, it’s elitism. They have everyone fooled.
We have people in power who are too old to be running things. Everyone sees it but it stays the same. Why? Divide and conquer.
I think it’s funny (in a sad way) to read/listen to people’s opinions/comments on a article posted but not read/understood.
It’s almost like listening to Ben Maller of FOX talking about the Dolphins and Tua…lol…trash
Not Rock…lol

Dolphins Add Former Patriots Starter to Practice Squad
Dolphins signed veteran players with special teams experience to the 2023 practice squad
OMAR KELLY11 HOURS AGO
The Miami Dolphins filled out their 16-player practice squad Thursday by adding eight newcomers, and one of them is a former starter for the New England Patriots.
Pass rusher Chase Winovich, a 2019 third-round pick who started 11 games for the Patriots before being traded to the Cleveland Browns last year, was added to the Dolphins’ developmental unit.
Winovich, who has contributed 105 tackles, 12 sacks and one interception in the 53 NFL games he’s played, is scheme-versatile and has extensive experience (667 snaps) as a core special teams contributor.
Outside linebacker happens to be a position of need for the Dolphins because Miami decided to release Malik Reed earlier this week and is using Andrew Van Ginkel at both outside and inside linebacker.
Winovich, who spent most of last season on Cleveland’s injured reserve list because of a troublesome hamstring injury he suffered in September, isn’t the only veteran player added to the practice squad who can help Miami’s special teams unit.
Safety Joshua Kalu, who spent training camp with the Washington Commanders but didn’t make the 53-man roster, is viewed as a strong special teams contributor.
He’s played in 44 NFL games with five starts for the Tennessee Titans since joining the league in 2018. Kalu has contributed 68 tackles and one interception in his 624 defensive snaps. He’s played 711 special teams in his NFL career.
Miami also signed defensive lineman Rashard Lawrence, a 2019 fourth-round pick of the Arizona Cardinals, who has played in 25 career games with 13 starts, totaling 30 tackles (21 solo) and one forced fumble. He joins Da’Shawn Hand and Randy Charlton as the defensive linemen on Miami’s practice squad. Hand and Charlton were among the eight players signed to that unit Wednesday.
Linebacker Alexander Johnson, who was a late addition to training camp, and cornerback Ethan Bonner, an undrafted rookie from Stanford, are the final two defensive players on the practice squad.
Dolphins gain offensive line help
Dolphins added rookie offensive tackle James Tunstall, who spent training camp with the Dolphins this summer, and guard Chasen Hines, a former LSU offensive lineman selected in the sixth round of the 2022 draft who was in camp with the New England Patriots.
One interesting nugget about Hines is that he began his career at LSU as a defensive lineman before being moved to the offensive line.
Center Alama Uluave, a former San Diego State standout who spent all of training camp in Miami, is the third offensive lineman on the practice squad.
Dolphins add two tight ends to practice squad
Nick Bowers, a former Penn State standout, joined Tanner Conner as the two tight ends on the practice squad.
Bowers spent the 2022 season on Cincinnati’s practice squad and was with the Bengals this past offseason and training camp. He’s played in five NFL games going back to the 2021 season with the Raiders.
Darrynton Evans, a tailback the Tennessee Titans selected in the third round of the 2020 draft, joined the team Thursday.
Evans gained 120 yards on 30 carries he’s had for the Titans and Bears the past three seasons. He’s served as a kickoff returner in the first two years of his career.
And receiver Raleigh Webb rounds out the practice squad newcomers. Webb, a former Citadel standout who played in 12 games for two different teams (Baltimore and New England) as a rookie last season, and Braylon Sanders, who spent most of last season on Miami’s practice squad, are the receivers on Miami’s practice squad
Cameron Goode, a 2022 seventh-round pick, also was signed to Miami’s practice squad this week, filling out the outside linebacker unit that features Bradley Chubb, Jaelan Phillips and Emmanuel Ogbah as the front-line players.
Holy shit! Did any of you see the new Cheerleading squad. Perfectly in synch.
I may still be laughing at this when the season opener comes around!
We do that at the Fest tailgate every year.
I hope everyone packs a diamond-check pullover too! 😉
Good luck to Herd getting that Maxi-dress too! 🤣

Mind boggling!!: 24% in one year!? 1.1 BILLION increase!? Remember that is what he originally spent. 1.1 Bil
According to Forbes, the Miami Dolphins are worth $5.7 billion in 2023, which is up 24% since last year’s valuation in 2022 when they were worth $4.6 billion. In that time frame, they’ve become more valuable than the Denver Broncos and Houston Texans, who both dropped down a spot, respectively.
Here’s what Forbes’ Mike Ozanian and Justin Teitelbaum had to say about Stephen Ross’ team:
“The Miami Dolphins increased an impressive 24% in value, to $5.7 billion this year. The team has leveraged its ownership of Hard Rock Stadium to bring concerts, tennis, college football and Formula 1 to Magic City. The team’s revenue from advertising and sponsorships has nearly doubled the past five years, to close to $60 million, while premium seating revenue (luxury suites and club seats) is up over one-third, to more than $45 million.”
Ross has invested a fair portion of the money that the club and other events at Hard Rock Stadium have brought in right back into the football team. This year, Spotrac reports that the Dolphins are seventh in cash spending ($268.89 million) behind only the Jacksonville Jaguars, Baltimore Ravens, Houston Texans, New York Jets, Cleveland Browns and Buffalo Bills.

I’ve changed my prediction from 14-3 to 11–6 because of losing Ramsey.
I had us losing only to the Eagles and Chiefs and Buff up there.
In addition to those and a slip-up off game somewhere,
Now I think we’ll have real problems with LAC and jest on the road.
With some bad injury luck, we could be 9-8.
Or 8-9

At the time I thought it was good, but since Covid (not fact just my opinion or when I realized it) I would say that lowered tax is not beneficial to us
Between the price gouging and the laws put in post 2020, that hurts small business, I’d say we’re at war with large corporations or should be
They’ve really exposed their intentions
We need to reform govt and change the parties to one that supports the working class and one that supports everyone else, let the lower class fall where it may
Our new PS TE is 6.4 260 out of Penn State, runs crisp cuts, and a beast to tackle.
