The roster is just about set, although as we know, there will be shuffling with the bottom of the roster throughout the season. Let me start with the RB’s, and I have to say, I’m thrilled with the RB as it stands. We kept the 4 RB’s I wanted to keep, Mostert, Achane, Ahmed and Brooks. I feel that’s a good mix of players, Mostert a good all around back with speed and good receiving skills. Achane also brings tons of speed in his own right, and Ahmed is a slippery back who I feel has never looked better. Very happy we kept the big back from BYU Chris Brooks. He’s the banger, the big body that can run between the tackles. Brooks runs hard, and although we didn’t get Jonathan Taylor from the Colts, Brooks is a hard runner that won’t be asking for $12M per year anytime soon. FB Alec Ingold also received a nice extension, 3YR/$17.2M. We need Ingold, along with the front 5 to give our speedy RB’s room to run.
The WR room also shaped up like I had hoped, although I am surprised that Robbie Chosen didn’t make the cut. I was hoping Erik Ezukanma would make the 53, and he did. Hill, Waddle, Berrios, Wilson Jr. , Ezukanma, and Cracraft round out the receiving corps. I believe Berrios is really going to thrive in this offense, while teams will be protecting against Hill and Waddle. Wilson Jr, will also have opportunities, but Berrios’ ability to create space quickly and run after the catch quicks will keep him busy this season. Berrios will also be handling kick returns and punt returns, so he will be a very valuable player for us this season.
We weren’t able to come to a contract extension with DE/DT Christian Wilkins, but it seems as if both sides are on the same page and willing to delay the process of negotiating that extension after the season. The dollar amount of course can be debated, but Wilkins is a core piece of this defense, and if Fangio can wring out a little more opportunity for Wilkins to get to the QB this season, the money he wants might actually be a fair asking price. Wilkins brings it every week, has been a leader on this team and belongs on this team for the long term. I’m quite pleased that we were however able to lock up our other DE/DT Zach Sieler on a 3YR/$38.65M deal. The lunchpail guy got paid! The Dolphins are a little thin on DL depth, with only rookie DT Brandon Pili and DE Emmanuel Ogbah.
At LB, no surprises, the proven guys stay, and only one real question mark will be 2nd year LB Channing Tindall. Big things are expected from 3rd year LB Jaelan Phillips. Everyone expects a breakout season, I only hope the prognosticators are right. Some players just too much hype, I hope Phillips isn’t one of them. David Long will be the physical guy in this group, and underrated Jerome Baker just keeps keeping on. Will Bradley Chubb find his comfort zone in this defense? Chubb had double digit sacks in his rookie season in 2018 with the Broncos but has yet to see more than 8 sacks in a season since. Chubb could end up being a huge factor for this defense. If he can be a pass rushing terror, Phillips will no doubt feast as well. The LB depth is rounded out by familiar guys Andrew Van Ginkel and Duke Reilly.
In the secondary, we’re definitely a little thin, and this is a spot I expect there to be a lot of turnover in. X (Xavien Howard), and Eli Apple will start as the corners. Brandon Jones and Jevon Holland are the starting safeties. Kader Kohou will be the primary nickel back until Nik Needham, who is on the PUP is healthy enough to take the field. Kohou was excellent last season, an excellent find. The Dolphins finally parted ways with former 2020 1st RD pick Noah Igbinoghene, trading him to the Dallas Cowboys for 2021 2nd RD pick Kelvin Joseph. Joseph did not fare too well with the Cowboys, much like Iggy didn’t get it done here. It will be a fresh start for both players. Joseph is a long, lean CB at 6’1 192. Hopefully he can turn it around here in MIA with Vic Fangio. Will rookie Cam Smith make enough of showing to see legit playing time? He missed some preseason action which puts him a little behind the curve. At safety, DeShon Elliot, Elijah Campbell and “centerfielder” Verone McKinley III fill out the depth. The Dolphins signed Justin Bethel for CB depth, he played pretty well last season in some spot duty, and is a very good special teams player.Parry Nickerson rounds out the CB depth, he has played for 4 different teams in 4 seasons, the Jets, Jaguars, Packers and Vikings. The Dolphins make his 5th team in as many years. Again, the secondary is where I expect a fair amount of turnover.
OK, let’s get to the dreaded O-line. I know no one is happy here, especially the big green guy. Terron Armstead will anchor the line at LT, next to veteran Isaiah Wynn. Connor Williams will be back at C, he had a great season last year playing every-single-snap. Williams did have some snapping issues, and hopefully he can clean those up. We don’t need Tua chasing footballs over his head and getting mangled trying to recover the bad snap. One of our best OL draft picks in recent history, Robert Hunt returns at RG and Austin Jackson will start at RT. Jackson came in lean and ready to go, so we can only hope this is his best season. T Kion Smith, OG Lester Cotton, T Kendall Lamm and potential backup C Liam Eichenberg fill out the O-line depth. Cotton looked very good in limited action and could step in at G if Isaiah Wynn doesn’t play well enough to keep that spot locked up.
I think we all deep down know that if our starting QB Tua Tagovailoa is going to miss a few games, we’re gonna be in trouble. I’ll admit initially I was pleased with the Mike White signing, but he looked just awful in the preseason, especially in the red zone where his decision making was horrendous. He almost turned the ball over with extremely questionable throws nearly every red zone trip. 2nd year Miami Dolphins QB Skylar Thompson, the star of of the 2022 preseason was a dud in 2023. If anyone was expecting him to take step forward, it doesn’t look like that’s happening. We need our boy Tua to stay healthy, so that Jiu Jitsu falling stuff better keep him safe!
Now on to the next underwhelming unit. Tight End. I can only imagine where this group will be ranked in the NFL. Versatile blocker and occasional pass catcher Durham Smythe is the starter. Tyler Kroft, another solid blocking TE is next on the depth chart and surprising undrafted rookie from Campbell, Julian Hill. Our 6th RD pick, former WR Elijah Higgins didn’t make the 53 and was signed by the Arizona Cardinals. Maybe Julian Hill ends up being the surprise receiver of this group, who knows?
On special teams, K Jason Sanders returns for his 6th season and at P, we signed former NE Patriot Jake Bailey, who spent 4 seasons with the Patriots. Blake Ferguson returns as the Long Snapper and Braxton Berrios will be the primary KR/PR. Cedrick Wilson Jr., Raheem Mostert, De’Von Achane and River Cracraft will round out the depth in the return game.
Overall, I’m really happy with the roster. The question marks are the O-line, backup QB, depth on the D-line and at least until Jalen Ramsey is healthy, depth at CB. Eli Apple doesn’t inspire a lot of confidence, so he will need to play well enough to stay on the field. We lost Keion Crossen to injury and he’s out for the season. Problem is, behind Apple is potentially Kader Kohou, Justin Bethel, Kelvin Joseph and Parry Nickerson. The depth is shaky, which is precisely why we brought in Jalen Ramsey. Best expectations for Ramsey would be late November, but I think December for actual playing time is more realistic. Even then, to expect him to came back and be the player he’s been his entire career coming back so soon after injury is a big ask. As I mentioned, I love the running backs, so glad Chris Brooks is in the mix. I’m a little concerned with how Achane was “rag dolled” and then injured, but I can’t wait to see him get some space. Brooks is unquestionably the sole physical RB in the group. Mostert, Ahmed and Achane are looking to run away from contact while Brooks welcomes it. I feel like our WR’s are very strong, love the addition of Berrios. The offensive line could be a pleasant surprise if Armstead can stay healthy, and Wynn and Jackson do their job. We’ll see if this star studded LB crew rise to the hype. If they do, we could be a top 10 defense for sure!
GO DOLPHINS!!!

Toba – I put in my player rankings for tonight’s draft. I have another draft tonight, a money league so I won’t be there. Also, my teammate and Coach is throwing a party tonight down at the Jersey Shore, so busy night. Good luck to everyone, hope it’s fun! Sorry I won’t be there
Throwing a challenge flag on this post. False start.
I know you can’t challenge a FS, but FFS I just posted a million posts (at least) and you robbed me of a page turn Mike. It’s only the fact that you are the inspiration and hardest grafter on this blog that I haven’t sent a strongly worded letter to the Commish too! 😉
Have fun sir.. happy ya at least made that effort👍👍😊
Last 10 games @Chargers we’ve won 6
At home 6-1 last 7, with the only loss coming in 2019 tank season😉
Punch counter punch last 4
Think Chargers weren’t given any favors by having to play against Fangio game 1, but we’ll see on Sunday, if the hype is real

Regarding your post the other day (I just caught up), I let my Platinum subscription lapse as I’ve got Sunday Ticket through Youtube. I will miss the British broadcast of Dolphins games though. It was a nice treat to see the game through that lens and to get away from American commercials.

Ricky Williams: Let trainers give out cannabis after NFL games
Joe Schad
Palm Beach Post
MIAMI GARDENS — Former Dolphins running back Ricky Williams would like to see trainers make cannabis available to players after NFL games.
The league has greatly relaxed testing and punishment for use since Williams played.
But Williams, a staunch marijuana advocate, wants to see it taken a step further.
“I think the next step, though, is at the end of a game, if we’re on the plane ride home, the trainer is walking down the aisle and has two capsule cases – one of Ambien, and the other one of Vicodin,” Williams told TMZ Sports. “And he’s walking down the aisle and saying, ‘Do you need any of this, do you need any of this?’
“And the truth is, for football players, we do need something because it hurts, and you’re all revved up and it’s hard to calm down and go to sleep. And I’d love to see cannabis as being one of those things that the trainer is walking down the aisle and offering to those players.”
The NFL now tests players for marijuana only once each season, at the start of training camp.
And a player would now have to fail four tests before suspension.
And the THC required for a positive test has been raised in recent years to more than four times the amount, from 35 ng/ml to 150 ng/ml.
Ricky Williams should make a comeback

Mike McDaniel has not made it clear who’s starting at LG. Supposedly reports jumped the gun.
FOXBOROUGH, Mass. — New England Patriots defensive back Jack Jones has agreed to serve one year of probation and 48 hours of community service in exchange for prosecutors dropping eight of the nine weapons charges he faced in connection with his June arrest at a security checkpoint at Boston’s Logan Airport for allegedly having two loaded guns in his carry-on bag.
CB Jack Jones “should be available” to play in Sunday’s season opener versus the Eagles, head coach Bill Belichick announced, per The Athletic’s Chad Graff.

Live Draft: Your draft is on Wednesday, Sep 6, 2023 at 8:30pm EDT.
If you pause the video at about 14 seconds, he still looks like the Marino under the helmet we all came to love. You’d swear they used de-aging technology.
M13, did you see my post that McDaniel has not named our starting LG?
Yup, I did see that. Seems Joe Schad jumped the gun.
I think it’s Wynn but I could see us rotating a couple of guys on the OL at different points in the game.
100% on it being Wynn. Seems to me that he earned it during the preseason.
Chris Grier (aka: Grief) has a very, very lousy track record of drafting for the O-Line. On the other hand, Grier has a very, very outstanding track record of drafting DBs not named Iggy.
Kevin Harlen and Trent Green announce our game. Gonna wish I had the British feed.
Trent is always a bitter little piss pot when does our games.
Boulder, I’m figuring Sanders for money after our D takes the ball back late.
Sanders walk off on the road hanging tough looking strong week one out west.
WOW!!!
I 2nd that…wow
2 million dollars per game unless they go to playoffs. Which of course they will … but just to give an idea.
Probably only actually be a million dollars per game … so no biggie.
QBs and those who hunt them get paid the big bucks.
He is good. He is not that good
I’d say he’s a top 3 pass rusher in the league.
yeah, good for him. Bad for the team. He does NOT impact the game that much.
I think his brother is better and in no circumstance is he worth that much money. I can’t think of any defensive player that is
Now Nick Bosa, go kick the Steelers asssss!
Nick Bosa is about as elite a pass rusher as you can ask for. He most definitely impacts games on a high level. He also plays the run very well.
I would stop worrying about these contracts. It’s going to keep going higher and higher.
Niners can also afford to pay Bosa this money right now because they are paying their starting QB $4 dollars and 78 cents per game for at least another year or two.
🤣
For two million per game he better be getting 20 stops and two sacks per game
Plus plus plus.
Week 1 mock draft
23. Kingsley Suamataia OT BYU
55. Graham Barton OT Duke
151. Keith Randolph Jr. DT Illinois
183. Curtis Jacobs LB Penn State
215. Michael Jurgens OC Wake Forest
Suamataia has been playing RT but has been practicing at LT also this year.
Barton plays LT. Can play both LT and LG.
I have a sick feeling about Austin Jackson getting dominated all game by the other Bosa.
He has been holding his own against Chubb and Phillips…….(not being dominated every play, losing some power reps)
I’m blaming this on Naples! Lol…stop it!

Wow, you can do 20!? lol
I haven’t tried one in about 5 years.

Speaking about our Run game under MM . I wonder if it’ll be like when Shula got Dan. They went pass heavy because of the talent. Kind of abandoned the run. Hopefully we’ll find balance in the “force ” that’s for you mf13
We re-signed LS Blake Ferguson through 2026. That’s a solid NFL football job.
Not a bad gig to have. Now that should help Naples, definitely a 5 and 12 season Now
😂
Austin Jackson is only 23 years old. He was a baby when we took him!
Why do we have to keep a fn long snapper? Why can’t the center long snap? Serious question! Does every team keep a long snapper?
Watching Williams snapping in PS. I thought he was trying out for it
DOH!
Salute to the Cap’t 💪🐬😁
Do you honestly think Williams could long snap?
He struggles short snapping.

The last thing I want to do is encourage political talk, but I saw this tweeted and it is so on point!
A British writer penned the best description of Donald Trump I’ve ever read:
“Why do some British people not like Donald Trump?”…
——————-
That’s a very strongly worded op-ed — from overseas, no less — by somebody who evidently doesn’t know or like the real Donald Trump.
Did ya hear how Prince Harry fairly recently remarked that our 1st Amendment was pretty much bullshit while in America? That’s exactly how I take these remarks from a liberal British writer who knows NOTHING about Trump or America.
I truly love a great many British writers who have actually gotten to know American politics and Donald Trump… I cherish them deeply.
Trump is the absolute antithesis of what the hack writer you cited had to say. In fact, everything he had to say applies to Joe Biden and Barack Obama, minus a certain decor.
Trump leads by example… not by being a simp like recent American presidents and British PMs who were bought and paid for. We don’t need more clowns in office who tell us that EVERYTHING IS GOOD. BULLSHIT! It’s NOT good right now in the world.
I implore you to END watching the BBC and the MSM, ASAP. In the name of world peace, the masses must do so. If not, we’re going into a hot war with nuclear Russia and China.
We Americans had a good life under Trump… and so did world peace. No wars, best economy in history, and forging new alliances.
My guy Steve is 100% correct in that ya need to stop reading the MSM narratives, my friend from across the pond! 🙂
I don’t know why you persist on explaining things to folks who aren’t ever going to believe it?
Tell me the moon is made of cheese why don’t you. Willfully ignorant to the point of delusion.
Rock, long snappers have to make tackles too, you don’t usually rely on 300 pounders to do that.😉
been listening to and watching videos of Jimmy all afternoon and evening …

Some folks live in the past! For good , or bad!!!!!!!
So everyone who doesn’t agree, must be listening to and absorbed by MSM. But those who know what’s going on and don’t listen to MSM even though they know a lot about it, don’t listen to it? I’m confused.🙄

Power Ranking Roundup
Some of these make no sense whatsoever. Some give praise so high in the narrative that they should be listed as #1 but list them in the middle of the league, others list them much higher but bash them in the narrative.
Um, USA today..You know Ramsey wasn’t on the team last season right? How can his injury be a step back from last season then??
CBS Sports
Ranking: 11
Analysis: If Tua Tagovailoa can stay on the field, they will score a bunch of points, even if the offensive line has some issues. The defense will be much better with Vic Fangio running it.
NFL.com
Ranking: 8
Analysis: There have been some preseason disappointments, such as losing CB Jalen Ramsey to injury, not signing RB Dalvin Cook, not signing DT Christian Wilkins to a long-term deal and keeping only two of their four 2023 draft picks. But the hope of the 2023 Dolphins was always built on a healthier Tua Tagovailoa and the work Vic Fangio can do with a talented defense. And though the schedule looks tough on paper, they do have nine home games, with seven true road contests and a contest in Germany against the Chiefs. Health will be a season-long story to monitor, but all things being equal, this team might be ready to make an incremental improvement over coach Mike McDaniel’s promising first year.
Touchdown Wire
Ranking: 11
Analysis: After losing to the Buffalo Bills while smacking a Juul on the sideline in the AFC Wildcard game in January, Mike McDaniel and the Miami Vape Gods are hoping to return with a season full of health and explosiveness. Losing Jalen Ramsey is a major bummer for their defense, but the addition of Vic Fangio will be a large net positive, even with the change of scheme and philosophy. Offensively, if Tua Tagovailoa remains healthy, and is anywhere near as efficient as last season, the offense will be hard to contain with Tyreek Hill and Jaylen Waddle both keen to turn a short pass into a big gain. Miami will be in the playoff mix, but in a tough AFC East, they’ll need to do more than just hang around.
The Score NFL
Ranking: 9
Analysis: Mike McDaniel enters his second season as the Dolphins’ head coach with a successful first campaign under his belt. Miami made the playoffs without starting quarterback Tua Tagovailoa, who’s back healthy after suffering three concussions last season. Jaylen Waddle and Tyreek Hill are a nightmare for opposing defensive coordinators to game-plan against every week.
Sports Illustrated
Ranking: 14
Analysis: A healthy and progressed Tua Tagovailoa will make a lot of people (myself included) feel silly. So, why does Miami come in at No. 14 on our power rankings? I do think we’re ignoring the impact that a divisional arms race can have on teams as a whole. The Bills are clearly the best suited in the AFC East for this kind of long-term marathon, given the quarterback, but at what point will these teams start clawing each others’ eyes out? There is no sweepable division opponent in the AFC East. Further, this ranking reflects an uncertainty as to whether Miami will evolve its offense in Year 2 under Mike McDaniel, or whether it will try to major in what it does best, at a faster pace. If it’s the latter, teams that have spent the offseason watching McDaniel could come prepared with more answers for his speed and lateral motioning techniques.
The 33rd Team
Ranking: 13
Analysis: Miami is one of the few teams in the league that could finish with a top-10 offense and a top-10 defense. As long as Tua Tagovailoa stays healthy this season, the Miami Dolphins can beat anyone. Miami begins the year with a difficult four-game stretch.
Pro Football Network
Ranking: 8
Analysis: Speaking of passing efficiency, having Tyreek Hill and Jaylen Waddle is a cheat code for any offense. For a Shanahan-inspired passing attack, that gets them moving horizontally over the middle of the field, it’s almost impossible to stop. Losing Jalen Ramsey for the foreseeable future is a tough pill to swallow. However, the addition of Vic Fangio should still create a net positive for this unit over last season.
Pro Football Talk
Ranking: 5
Analysis: It’s been 50 years since they last won a Super Bowl. If they can keep all key players healthy, they can end that streak.
The Sporting News
Ranking: 10
Analysis: The Dolphins have this kind of ceiling because of what the offense can be with a healthy Tua Tagovailoa operating for Mike McDaniel, but that’s a big if now with the line and the depth being key weaknesses. Also, the defensive promise will be curbed early with Jalen Ramsey on the shelf.
USA Today
Ranking: 15
Analysis: They’re already sufficiently beat up – LT Terron Armstead, RB Jeff Wilson and, most notably, CB Jalen Ramsey, who may not return this season – that those injuries could be the difference from returning to the playoffs in what projects as an airtight conference at the top.
The Athletic
Ranking: 12
Analysis: Best-case scenario: Perhaps only the Jets have a wider variance of possibilities entering the season, but the ceiling hits for Miami as Tua Tagovailoa’s offseason preparation pays off and he remains healthy all year. Coach Mike McDaniel evolves his offense further in Year 2, and the midseason trade for Jonathan Taylor makes them unstoppable as Tyreek Hill and Jaylen Waddle lead the league in combined receiving yardage again. Vic Fangio proves to be the defensive sorcerer he’s paid to be as Jaelan Phillips vaults into the elite category of edge rushers, and Jalen Ramsey is great down the stretch. Tagovailoa plays good sport during Super Bowl week in a recorded bit for ESPN when he takes pole dancing lessons with Ryan Clark.
Yahoo
Ranking: 9
Analysis: The Dolphins’ reported pursuit of Dalvin Cook and Jonathan Taylor speaks to their weakness at running back. Jeff Wilson Jr. going to injured reserve certainly doesn’t help. Raheem Mostert could end up being just fine, but it seems like the Dolphins aren’t done shopping.
FOX Sports
Ranking: 9
Analysis: If you can promise me Tua Tagovailoa plays the whole season, I’m all-in on the Dolphins. The offense is explosive and the defense is loaded. Even with Jalen Ramsey expected to miss a big chunk of the season, Miami has Pro Bowl-caliber play at all three levels, with Vic Fangio calling the shots. If the quarterback is healthy, I think the sky is the limit. If he’s not — well, we’ve seen how that goes.
Did McDaniel really say this?!?! LOL
and who was he REALLY talking to?
I bet that quote was NOT directed to the Mannings.
I bet it was either aimed at some twerp wise-ass who was bashing
one of McDaniel’s players and McDaniel took up for him,
or
it was a hypothetical as in McDaniel saying that,
“If you (Joe beat reporters) say that ______ (like Tua, for example) has no skills and will be a liability,”
“then I’d say” McDaniel quoting himself hypothetically “that you’re terrible evaluators and go F yourself.” This would again be defending his guys and would be a logical comment, considering the quality of players we have on this team now.
I hope so
I hope so too

Rockphin, Mike E, Ken, Pigster, UK, and all other fellow Star Wars fans out there,
Have any of you been watching the Ahsoka series? I think the first three episodes really dragged, but $#!t just got real in episode four!
Not yet
If y’all didn’t already know, Ahsoka is the Jedi apprentice of Anakin Skywalker [that’s what the Clone Wars animated series (all 7 seasons) was essentially all about]. George Lucas commissioned the series before he sold to Disney back in 2012, so it’s very ‘Lucas Star Wars’ in nature, including this current series.
The Only Star Wars Recap You Need Before Watching Ahsoka
If it is on Disney, then I have not watched it. (unless I saw it before it was streamed)
Yes, it’s on Disney+. I’d love to cancel my subscription, but they’ve got me with my addiction to Star Wars.
Fuck Disney
I didn’t realize unit I read it in an article the Justin Herbert got an extension that made him the highest paid player in NFL history. (Yearly average) How did I miss that?
Living under a ROCK 😎
LOL, Manitoba
Yeah that was earlier in the offseason I believe.

I am rooting for Detroit tonight! Go Dan Campbell!
————-
SAME, and they can do it!
GO DAN CAMPBELL!!!
It really sucks for them (Detroit) that Jameson Williams is suspended for the first 6 games of the season for gambling.
Go Lions…, but we’ll see if their defense improved enough to slow down an offense like the Chiefs.
Without Kelce possibly, so…
Kelce not playing tonight
Yeah I know but they have other weapons and Mahomes finds ways to get guys the ball regardless of who it is.

Yup! Let’s hope the Lions have enough grit to get by in this one. Nothing would make 31 teams happier than for the defending champs to get sunk in their ’23 debut.
The Chiefs have had slow starts before then they go on tear.
While true, this is a new year… ANYTHING could happen.
I was saying they could lose tonight or even start off 0-2 and still finish 13-4.
Team who win their opening game are 50% more likely to make the playoffs than teams that start out 0-1. (50% vs 24%)

News Article What are five most memorable NFL openers in Miami Dolphins history? [3 hours ago]
I don’t know PBP, I can’t remember.
I see the Detroit Defense has 3 of ‘my guys’: Alim McNeill, Isaiah Buggs, and Malcolm Rodriquez.

Understood, and you’re not wrong. I’m saying that perhaps they take a step back this year, much like the Rams had after their SB victory.
Who knows… that’s why we play the games! 🙂
One key injury is what it takes for any team to go from greatness to mediocrity.
I’m not talking about injuries. Of course that can derail any team.
Well they’re always in the friggin AFC championship game.😳
So were the Patsies*… until Bernard Pollard destroyed Tom Brady in the 2008 opener. Just sayin’… 😉
Dolphins have the 2nd hardest strength of schedule this year.
1 Eagles 161-123-4 .566
2 Dolphins 158-127-2 .554
3 Patriots 156-128-3 .549
T-4 Cowboys 156-128-4 .549
T-4 Giants 157-129-2 .549
6 Jets 155-129-3 .545
7 Bills 155-131-2 .542
Our entire division is in the top 7.
Thus more so than usual, it’s going to be very important to win our divisional games.
That’s good. When we come out on top, the talking heads won’t be able to say we had soft schedule. We’ll be battled tested.
GO MOTOR CITY DAN CAMPBELL!!!
I don’t put much stock in SOS before the season, any of the 4 in our division could fall of a cliff with a key injury or poor execution
SOS based on last year is just that, and what we’ve been talking about, last year was last year.😉
Even bigger lose is no Chris Jones for KC
Agreed, that should help the Lions for sure. I can see this being a high scoring game.

Correct, but so can a change of rosters (ie: this isn’t the same ’22 Chiefs roster that won the Super Bowl last season).
And it’s the same with us: this isn’t the same ’22 Phins roster that barely made the Wildcard last season.
I understand all that. I still think the Chiefs are a top contender until I see otherwise.
YUP! I’m with ya there, obviously. I’m just sayin’… the Chefs* may not be as formidable as they once were (keyword: may).
Personally? I think we have the possibility to DESTROY them, head-to-head.
I see KC and Buff falling back a little this year, leaving Cin as the team to beat, if they don’t have major issues with Burrow
The rest, Fins, Ravens, LA, Jax, and Jets have as much chance as anyone to make the AFC Championship game
Man, the AFC is TOUGH this year!
I read this article this morning, just went back in to see who wrote it, not that I couldn’t tell based on the ignorance

I don’t think McDaniel should’ve allowed himself to be recorded saying the F word on a national commercial clip.
Children could see that.
I think it puts him in a bad light.
Was he duped into that?
He should apologize and insist that that part be removed.
This clip could have a long life and would be very cool except for that unforgivable F bomb.
It was implied that he dropped the F-bomb, by it being bleeped out. But did he really say it? It really doesn’t matter to me, honestly. What make you of this?
I love that vid. It is hilarious!
It’s not a big deal to me. Not like children don’t hear that word in their own homes. It’s a fucking word.😂
Right on! And children today are exposed to genital mutilation (changing sex) at a very early age within the classroom via the teachers.
What kind of fucking world are we living in?! 😀
They do that in classrooms via teachers? 🙄
Oh Fuck
Nah, I think it’s alright.
Naples,
I truly respect you, sir. But if you’re about Mike McDaniel being bleeped out for a potential ‘F-bomb’, methinks you’re late to the party of what this government has already done to WE, the people.
I mean ZERO disrespect, but have you ever seen what’s been going on for YEARS?
I TRULY understand where you’re coming from (I DO!), but it’s a little late in the game to put the genie back in the bottle, my FRIEND.
The government didn’t create massive cursing, we the people did that while they tried to curb “foul” language in all formats; TV, radio, music, film etc.
Tim is correct. And now people are screaming against censorship when people are the ones doing the cussing… not the government.
Don’t worry God will save everything.😜
don’t worry about the kidney stones!
Don’t worry MATT ROTH will fart and save the northeast despite his hate for Foxborough.
I didn’t realize our fantasy league had defensive players and I didn’t draft one
Oops
You guys will all be happy to know that although I drafted Justin Herbert
I benched him this week!
Sit on the bench jerk!

I think you’d be surprised, man. So in response, the government merely made the media slap a sticker on creation… Parental Advisory on music (LOL, like that actually worked… it made kids want to hear it even MORE!), rated G, PG, PG-13, R (LOL, like that actually worked).
ALL of us as early teens were able to walk into a rated-R movie without being carded or without an adult… or at least that’s how it was in the 1980s and 90s in my experience.
I think you have a void in your history. Maybe you’re not aware of the hearings where Frank Zappa, Dee Snyder of ‘Twisted Sister’, Rob Halford of ‘Judas Priest’ and others spoke against censorship. You know who was pushing this agenda joining forces with conservatives, Tipper Gore. They weren’t opening a can of worms, they were trying to close it.
Yes, they were trying to close Pandora’s Box after having opened as much. I recall VP Dan Quale trying to cancel rap music altogether, especially going after 2Pac.
The government was even THEN trying to get us to fight amongst one another regarding race (black vs white)… but it backfired when more white folks purchased the gangsta rap albums than even black folk. FACT
I’m sorry, but if ya didn’t know that the corporate media (Hollywood, MSM, etc) has been in bed with the corporate government forever, I don’t know what to tell ya.
The FBI and CIA are rogue, bureaucratic institutions… both of which are contrary to the US Constitution.
Man, you’re all over the place.
Elite people will always try to control others because they’re narcissists. Conservatives are part of the problem. It’s not just liberals.
^
MOST CORRECT! And never did I say that conservatives aren’t part of the problem.
You should also realize that I didn’t use the words Democrat or liberal in all of my posts.
I was referring to the ‘duopoly’, or ‘uni party’ that is the government.
You promote conservative values as if they’re the remedy for all things wrong with the country. They’re absolutely part of the problem.
Leftists are clueless about a lot of issues but conservatives have always squeezed individualism. They’re doing it right now.
I want to go record as opposing defunding the police and FBI.
Lol…me too
There are too many criminals like me out there…lol
I need criminals and police. Good for business. 😉
Seems most of us are aligned on the most fundamental issues, yet divided on the most trivial

I’m a simple man trying to make his way through the universe. If I view conservatism (Constitutional) as the best way through life, so be it. Doesn’t make me right, nor does it make me wrong.
If that is all you espoused, so be it and right on.
But, it’s not…lol
The constitution is not a conservative philosophy. It’s liberal in the true sense of the word.
It may not be, but it’s conservatives that are trying to follow the constitution, while the left is trying to destroy it, 1st amendment, 2nd…
You are clueless, too..lol
To steveccnv
How am I clueless?
If you think the destruction is one-sided, which is how I perceive your position, YOU ARE CLUELESS! LOL!
The main destruction I see is inflation, war in Ukraine, interest rates, wokeness, indoctrination of school kids, endless govt spending (not totally from left, but they want to keep on spending now)
What destruction do you see on the right?
The case for KC winning is the thought they can win without Chris Jones, if they lose a couple they may cave
We need to keep the DTs salaries down

But changes the game the same way

HERE IN TAMPA BAY many (most?) sports fans rely on Directv to bring them the channels that carry sporting events. However, several months ago, the owners of the NBC affiliate were unable to strike an agreement with Directv. SO-O-O, tonight’s game between the Lions and the Chiefs is NOT AVAILABLE to Directv customers, which includes our family.
We also decided not to pay youtube the $450 fee to get the NFL package so, if the game’s not on local TV, we’ll probably just miss the game. Funny, but before the Steve Ross regime, we wouldn’t even THINK of missing a Fins game. But thanks to Little Stevie Blunder, we’ve re-assessed our priorities. We’ve concluded NOT to pay a big bag of cash to see the games UNTIL Steve Ross divests his ownership of the Dolphins. And we’re NOT the only Dolphin followers who feel this way in the greater Tampa Bay area. It now appears that only a few Dolphin games will be shown in this part of Florida, unlike 3-4 years ago when the majority of Miami’s schedule could be seen here on home TV. NO big surprise, given the unpopularity here of Ross’s shenanigans.
As for tonight’s game, I feel the Chiefs will really miss their big tight end. And I expect the Lions to at least cover the spread.
SUNDAY, I’m hoping this relatively healthy Miami team has enough big time players to upset the favored Chargers. That said, I don’t expect this Miami team to win that elusive playoff game because, by season’s end, they’ll be too banged-up to beat a legitimate playoff team.
PREDICTION: 27-23, Dolphins over the Chargers.
I’m sitting in St Pete watching the game on YouTube TV ($70/mo). Sunday I will be watching Miami on NFL Ticket which cost <$300. That is less than the normal cost of the Ticket. Direct TV lost the ticket, YouTube won the bid. None of which has anything to do with the Dolphins’ ownership. FFS this has nothing to do with Ross. You have simply become a caricature of “I’m old, damn you clouds, I know what I know.” Ross has nothing to do with the local availability of the games.
YOU are welcome to your opinion.
SIMPLY PUT, Ross has not lived up to our standards.
I never said Ross has anything to do with the switch from Directv to Youtube. Please re-read what I wrote. However, it IS TRUE that fewer Dolphin games will be seen here on my side of the bay than was the case in most prior years, unless you want to pay Youtube a fee.
Sorry if you find this confusing. – – OUT for tonight.
Pro tip – cancel Direct TV and stream. Has nothing to do with Ross. There are no fewer Miami games being televised. You just don’t know how to get them. Ain’t Ross’es fault. It’s you.

By the way, did you notice that Notre Dame has Marshall exactly where they want them? – – OFF THE SCHEDULE!!
I think teams like the Lions, that won 8 of their last 10, are overrated
Just because they finished last year strong means nothing for this year
There’s no pressure on you, when you’re 1-6, when they had a chance they lost
How many times have we ended a season strong, just to be a hot mess to start the next year
Campbell has them playing like a contender. They believe.
I also think Dan Campbell is overrated, he just doesn’t come across as a guy that can outsmart the opposing coach, so he’ll live off of the innovation of his coordinators
Campbell is a leader. A leader knows what he doesn’t know and brings in people who fill in his weaknesses. Then a leader motivates his people to succeed.
I just see deer in headlights, when I look at him, like doesn’t belong as an HC
He’s the kind of coach that might start winning, then lose a coordinator and have to start all over
You can’t keep good coordinators for long
Coordinators come and go. His OC turned down HC interviews because he was sold on Campbell’s philosophy.
Maybe I’m wrong, it’s just what I see
When he was our interim HC he got them to play hard, but there’s no innovation or anything else special there
I think he is the kind of coach that guys will run through a wall for .. his players believe in him and play hard … I liked him as our Interim Coach ..
The pic of Campbell riding a Dolphin like a chariot in on a wave is still one of the greatest pics of all time. I wish I had it saved. I tried to find it online awhile ago and couldn’t.
Huh. came up on my first search this time
And I guess it was a shark, lol
OD, if Ross dies or sells you’ll have nobody left to blame. I don’t think I’ve ever known a fan that blames the owner for position groups like you do.🤣
I hope we’re scouting Mahomes, every time he can step up he kills the Lions
The DT(s) need to keep the lane in front of him closed
