The winless Carolina Panthers at 0-5 come to Miami to take on the 4-1 1st place Miami Dolphins this Sunday, A.K.A Fest Day! This is the best Dolphins team we’ve seen in some time. The offense is incredible, although we have lost rookie sensation RB De’Von Achane for a few weeks as he was placed on IR this week, meaning he’ll miss at least 4 games until he’s eligible to return the week of November 19th against the Raiders. Incidentally, Jeff Wilson Jr. is eligible to return from the PUP list but it has yet to be determined if Wilson will be active. RB Salvon Ahmed and Chris Brooks will most likely share reps with Mostert, with Mostert getting the majority of the touches.
I think the majority of us have a lot of positive feelings with this team. The Buffalo game was a sobering beat down, but the team came back strong against the beleaguered NY Giants. The defense especially made their presence felt last week. In place of Jaelan Phillips, backup LB Andrew Van Ginkel has been stellar. He has made his absence tolerable, although it would be great to have both og them available. Jaelan Phillps logged in a limited practice Wednesday, along with other limited participants WR Tyreek Hill, OG Robert Jones, RB Raheem Mostert, RB Jeff Wilson Jr., and nice to see the return of DB Nik Needham, one of my faves. CB Xavien Howard (veteran rest), FB Alec Ingold (foot), and OC Connor Williams (groin), did not practice. Ingold has said he’s playing Sunday, but Williams is one to keep an eye on, and maybe a late decision.
The Dolphins are the #1 passing team with 1681 yards. The Dolphins are also the #1 rushing team with 929 yards. That’s crazy! This offense, with the exception of the 2nd half of the Bills game has been nearly unstoppable. On defense however, it’s a different story. The Dolphins have allowed the 12th most passing yards, and the 15th most rushing yards. Not terrible, but not championship level either. Vic Fangio may have the Dolphins defense turning the corner, although even a strong showing against the Panthers will still leave the question as to whether this defense, and team in general, can play well against one of the better teams, like the Philadelphia Eagles. We’ll play them the following Sunday, and they will be a better gauge as to where this team is heading.
It’s a shame the Festers won’t get to see RB De’Von Achane who just eats up yardage so quickly, averaging an outrageous 12.1 yards per carry. I’m not talking 5-10 carries, it’s 38. Raheem Mostert is also having a great year rushing and is averaging a whopping 5.4 yards per carry, which is less than half of the magic man, De’Von Achane, but still impressive. We will get to see Tyreek Hill, who has also been magical this season. Hill has 651 yards receiving and is averaging 18.1 YPR, crazy considering all the extra attention he receives. Jaylen Waddle has 245 yards receiving, 14.4 YPR. Braxton Berrios has been great getting open finding soft spots in the zones or just beating coverage to get open.
The Panthers will be showing off their rookie QB Bryce Young who is having a decent rookie season. Young has been sacked 12 times so far this season. Young has 750 yards passing with 5 TD’s and 4 INT’s and a 77 QBR. In contrast, Tua has 1614 yards, with 11 TD’s and 5 INT’s and a stellar 111.9 QBR. It would be nice to have a healthy Jaelan Phillips back, but it’s still unclear as to whether he will suit up. In any case, AVG is on fire right now, so this defense is going to bring it whether Phillips is there or not. I do hope we activate Nik Needham, but I think we have until the 29th to activate him, so it’s probably not happening this week.
No matter what happens at the game itself, this is a special time getting together with a great group. It’s such a pleasure to see you all each year, and of course, we’re thankful for Stanger’s hospitality, Chef Warren, communications man Hulk, transportation man Toba, and everyone who attends and makes it such a special time. It will be great to finally meet Herd, looking forward to that! Looking forward to meeting up again and having a great time while we’re together. Cheers!
GO DOLPHINS!!!

Huh, I have chrome and firefox on my work PC. I just noticed for the first time that they treat emojis differently. Fire Fox looks more like the Iphone emojis and Chrome looks like Android emojis.
I don’t see why folks knock our easy schedule.
Eagles have beaten
Patriots 25-20
Vikings 34-28
Buccaneers 25-11
Commanders 34-31
Rams 23-14
and lost to the jest
20-14
Also the Dolphins had the projected Second Hardest schedule in the NFL at the beginning of the year, based on last year’s records.

Sadly, I’m in the Rock-camp. Not that there’s anything much wrong with Rock that I know of!
I just think HFA, a greater physicality and our injuries will tip it in their favour. Read the reactionary posts to various dog-shit talking heads you have over there (which I thankfully miss out on) and I say let them say wtf they want. It’s all white noise. The only thing I listen to is MM and what he thinks and we all know he errs on the side of caution with players so I expect us to be well below our best on Sunday and the Iggles will take advantage of it.
Was messaging my BFF on Sunday and he rightly pointed out to me that SBs aren’t won in October. We have the best part of 2 more months to get healthy, get the D to it’s best of itself under Fangio and to take our shot. I get that HFA is a big deal, but the KC match-up is way more important than Philly. On this basis, I think we miss out on Sunday. It won’t be a big deal to me though. Losing to KC or the Bills would be.
Have you met Rock? π
Screw you Ken. π

INJURIES
RB Damien Harris (neck/concussion) will be ruled out for Sunday’s game versus the Patriots, head coach Sean McDermott said on WGR500.
DE Ed Oliver (toe) will be ruled out, per McDermott
—————-
Oliver out is huge. Come on Pats!
Chis Brooks to IR. That leaves only three spots left for the entire rest of the season.
I couldn’t remember the rules so looked them up – seems you can place any number on IR Rock, but only 8 can be designated to return. No idea where we are up to tbh, but I had it in my head with CB (if we want him back) we would be up to 7 with all the others needed, so we are up against the barrier almost
Which IR is it for Brooks? Is he designated to return?
He’s out for 4 weeks… designated to return.
Iggs play nickle 81% of the time,
but with their injuries,
their CB7 will be their starting nickleback.
Reek might be up against a Home Depot cashier.

AWESOME!
Can’t lie… I had some pollen in my eyes towards the end.
6 or 8 games we have an interest in
because a loss will hurt a team we are against for the playoffs.
(Jags already won.)
However, we received very little help last week, so
we just need to beat Philly.
I want the Packers > Broncos
Bears>Raiders
Lions>Ravens
Rams >Steelers
Patriots >Bills (washing mouth out with soap)
and of course the Miami DOLPHINS >>>>>>eagles
In the Chargers-Chiefs
and Browns-Colts games,
we can’t lose.
We could come up 8 games better against the AFC after Week 7.
Playoffs at a glance:
KC with the bye
#2 Miami vs. #7 Cleveland
#3 Jax vs. #6 Pitt
#4 Ravens vs. #5 Bills
Is this correct?
When you put a player on IR, do you have to designate them as 4 game return or all season right then, or does a player just go to IR and if you still have 4 game return slots, you can use them if you want to?
From how the rule reads below it seems they do NOT have to be designated to return when put on.
in another alteration to injured reserve protocol, teams will now have eight players permitted to return from IR and/or the reserve/non-football injury/illness list to the 53-man active roster or the practice squad, per season. An individual player can return from IR a maximum of twice per season, but each time counts against the team’s allotted eight designations.
Cool, so if a guy like Brooks is taking longer than expected to heal, you haven’t wasted a spot designated for return, good to know.

As per usual, I think Ryder is right. Get Cam Smith some starting reps before Ramsey comes back.
Oh… and Apple was certainly not the best decision to pick up.
However, I think Fangio keeps Apple in due to experience.
Is it Sunday night yet?

“just 12% of people in the US account for half of all beef consumed in the US.” That’s sorta unreal.
Agreed, unreal. I’d question the validity of that study/poll.
The study seems seroius, but also keep in mind that some people just eat more than others. I eat twice as much as my wife, but then I weigh twice as much as her too.
If that is accurate, I’m going to start calling myself a 12%er, lol
QUICK QUESTION
Who had more receiving TDs and receiving yards over their first 4 years in the NFL? Was it DeVante Parker or Chase Claypool?
Is this a trick question? Am I questioning the trade of my guy DeVante? Or am I sticking up for spoiled brat out of Notre Dame?
First to get the answer correct gets an autographed pork chop from the Pigster!
GO!
I want guesses, not those of you who are researching as much!!!
Claypool had those two really good games right?
So, him.
Claypool is the correct answer… and this is still his 4th season.
We spent a 1st rounder on DeVante, and we got Claypool for a KitKat bar.
rotfl at the cost for getting a bona fide RZ threat with speed.
I think this is another example of Grier doing well at filling our roster with very capable “next man up” guys.
The Wynn addition has turned out to be a total success. He was a 1st rounder for a reason, and he’s playing like one now for us at LG.
Lamm is having a hell of a season as Terron’s ahem “back-up.”
Finding Kohou and Brooks and TE Julian Hill has all worked out great as well.
Ingold seems like he’s doing great to me, but he gets really low grades from PFF.
Not sure what theyβre watching.
every play, not just the highlights.
Some big college games tomorrow! Mainly,
Penn State at Ohio State
Tennessee at Alabama
Duke at FSU
Utah at USC
I am starting to really be skeptical of PFFs grades. Not just Ingold but others as well
Itβs been so long since weβve been a legit good team that I donβt worry about the opponents each week. Iβm enjoying the feeling that we can win any game.π
Naples and Ken,
Yup! And I’m leading the charge against PFF grading. Remember what I said on Tuesday?
And truth be told, I’ve been against PFF’s grading system for several years now. I’m pissed that I actually gave them $$$ this year. SMH @ myself.
Like Iβve always said about PFF grades, there are too many variables. I think coaches evaluate players differently than they do.
I used to put a lot of stock in them but not anymore
The Dolphins have a record pacing Offense, lead the league in basically every offensive stat, but have attempted less than 1/4 the league (mad efficiency) but have succeed more than anyone. But “any QB” could be plugged in to do the same…..
Very few QBs can do what Tua does in this system because they donβt have his skills.
I just don’t get the stupid stubborn pig headed need to discount his skills to meat their narratives. “He hasn’t beaten anyone” Only 5 out of the 6 on the schedule!
“It’s not Tua, anyone could get those yards with all the play makers he has around him. ” Wrong again. It is Tua’s ability to see the game and know where the open spots WILL BE that makes the system go. His accuracy and ANTICIPATION are what get Hill and Waddle open. He released the ball before the WR’s even start to make their breaks.
It is just BS bias confirmation attempts by little minds.
Exactly! Tyreek has been saying this since the beginning but pundits know more than the guy who plays and catches passes from Tua.π€£
Also MM saw those skills in Tua early on and here we are.π
So I got home and turned on the TV and brought up NFL live on the DVR and went to get a beer and was discombobulated because the first match up they talked about were the Dolphins / Iggles and I missed have the segment because I’m just not used to them being the first / top story. They are usually the last discussed / cut off by the time limit on the DVR. It’s good to be a Dolfan these days….(Shhhhhhhhh don’t karma it)
I hope we don’t see the gay ass tush push this week. That is a loophole in the rules that needs to be closed. (It is illegal for a defensive player to push another defensive player, but not on offense)

Awesome tune. The first tune on their first album that started their legacy.
Friyay music! It’s the Halloween season, and I love this one… from a video game, no less.
By the way, the entire playlist is GOLD!
Do yourself a favor…
Play this in a very dimly lit room and allow your imagination to run with the music.

This shit is GRAND.
I’m talking about the ENTIRE playlist, not just the first one.
As I suspected earlier
Yup, Rockphin is correct.
Yeah, Iβve been wondering what they are doing
Lol I just finished a game of madden and had a 108.8 passer rating with nine completions out of 20 passes only 45% completion but I had three touchdowns and 242 yards on those nine passes lol
Here is Broken Peach from Spain with their annual Halloween song.
Thanks — I love those twisted folks.
I still think this was their best one.
This wasn’t one of their Halloween songs but just one of their originals. Still has a creepy feel about it though. If you’re creeped out by dolls.
Great win!
How true.

Wyoming, Tommy Eichenberg was the one I was asking M13 if he knew anything about him last weekend. I just couldn’t remember his name.

He plays faster than Eichenberg but not ranked as high but still in the top 10 for ILB. Maybe him just being a Junior, I’m not sure. I do think he declares for the draft though.
Iβm
Not sure he will. Heβs having a decent season, not a great one .
UCF giving #6 Oklahoma a tough time. Love it!
PSU play calling on third down sucks today.
Penn State shitting the bed on offense today
Ryder covers my worries for this game. Hurts escape and scramble ability. Then we have X with a sore groin on one side and Apple on the other vs Brown and Smith.
Of course there are worries. We are playing a team that was in the SB last year. And yet it is almost a pick βem
We played 2 crappy teams back to back now this defense faces a very tough offense. That’s my worry. Hopefully those last 2 games gave them more confidence.
I donβt worry about who was on the schedule. You donβt control that. Just go out and play. We have been playing well. D is still a work in progress but Eagles have their own issues that they are dealing with. I anticipate a good competitive game and I have no sense who is going to win this one
Same here, Ken.
Well, damn
Damn again, UCF 2 point conv to tie failed.
Whatever the case may be, I feel like we are going to need to generate some turnovers to win this one.
Fortunately the Eagles have turned over the ball a fair amount of times this year. Unfortunately our has not created many turnovers this year
Weβve done pretty good with fumbles but not INTs.
PSU ran the same stupid 2 point play as UCF just to the other side.
It wouldnβt have mattered. The play calling for Penn St sucked most of the game.
Jeff Wilson has been activated for the game.
Get ready for another Jalen Hurts 4 Int game!
ππ¨
It would be the perfect game to have multiple interceptions.
Julio Jones active for tomorrow
Tim,
We have only recovered three fumbles this season
That is correct.
We have caused 6 but only recovered 3,
although that is exactly in the middle of the league.
I thought we had more.
I think Holland had 2 in one game (against Denver).
I’m having a really good season on my Franchise. 16-0 and about to tie the record with the Pats for the most regular season wins next week. Hill has his 2000. Mostert broak the TD record with 32 rushing and 6 receiving. Have already broken the total yards, total rushing yard and total passing yard records with one game left. Not going to get the passing TD record. Oh well.
The Dolphins only have 2 INTs all year, tied for worst.
The good thing is they are tied with the Eagles
(and 3 other teams)
IMO, if our Defense brings it’s ‘A’ game, we beat the Eagles… rather handily, I might add. But if our Defense pulls a no-show, I’ve got a bad feeling about this one. X is banged up and a game-time decision while the Apple of nobody’s eye may get lit up.
If our O-Line keeps Tua relatively clean, I feel our Offense can outscore their Offense… but that’s a big “if” for our O-Line against their Defense.
BIG GAME tomorrow night!
^ we need to bring a physical game to Philly.
Absolutely, man.
Brian,
Man, Ohio State has our number, SMH. π¦
Fugly loss to a beatable adversary, IMO. We’ve gotta win out now, but we can DO IT!

Even if we get blown out tomorrow night (not predicting as much), the cavalry is soon incoming (Ramsey, T-Stead, Achane, and many others). What’s more, it wouldn’t be a conference loss (see the Chefs* lone loss to the Lions in week 1).
Greatest outcome of the game, regardless of win or loss? NO MORE INJURIES!
They should all be back after the bye.
Right on! Now then… in the event we beat the Eagles tomorrow night while without several stars… we’re going to DOMINATE down the stretch!

That’s my QB!!
Hereβs the thing, if we beat the Eagles tomorrow night on the road the narrative will be Miami can beat anyone. If we lose specifically being dominated sets a narrative that we canβt beat good teams and thatβs fair enough. But still only 7 games into a 17 game season. 5-2 is still pretty fucking good. The battle of attrition battles on because thatβs what it is.

According to Dianna Russini of The Athletic, the Commanders have “made calls,” gauging interest in defensive linemen Chase Young and Montez Sweat, both playing on expiring contracts.
Article went on to say only for the right compensation. Tells me they are going to want too much for either player with contracts that expire this year.

Too bad that sack/FF/scoop and score by ILB Curtis Jacobs got called back. It greatly impacted that game.

M13,
Yes, they certainly do. Itβs really frustrating. We need a number 1 WR next year. lambert-Smith just isnβt that guy. We had Robinson, Hamler, Godwin, etc. that were big play guys. We need that guy for Allar.
This Pats / Bills game is great so far. I want to see Josh have a meltdown afternoon.

I can smell it. It’s like lightening in the air. Ozone. A Josh Allen Meltdown.
Damn, come on Lions!
I just crushed the Bengals in the AFC Championship game with a perfect 19-0 record
I have put it down waiting to play the SB game for a 20-0 perfect season. Mostert had 1934 yards through the playoffs.
Tysen Bagnet has the Bears up 14-0 on the Raiders.
You may ask “Who the heck is Tyson Bagnet?”…I know I did.
Ravens absolutely clobbering the Lions.
Pets up on the Bills, but are kicking Fgs instead of scoring TDs which will come back to haunt them
Allen throws a pass 15 yards away from his WR and then Bass corkscrews the FG!!!! I love it!!
Keep it going against Buff NE! A Division loss would be nice to pile on them to give us a little more room in the East.
