Dolphins Head Coach Mike McDaniel said it perfectly. This game is 1/17 of this NFL season. If we lose, we can’t beat the good teams. If we win, we’re going to the Super Bowl. None of it matters. Look, to us Dolphins fans, we crave a win like this, need it. We hate the chatter, from NFL fans, pundits, commentators, everywhere it can be heard. The Dolphins aren’t a legit contender because they can’t beat anyone who is a contender. So far, to be fair, they’re right. We haven’t defeated a winning team this season. We beat the Chargers (3-4) in a shootout Week 1, we beat the Patriots (2-6) twice, we scorched the Broncos (3-5), we lost to the Bills (5-3), beat the the NY Giants (2-6), defeated the Carolina Panthers (1-6), and finally, lost to the Philadelphia Eagles (7-1). The teams we’ve beaten are a collective 11-27, and the teams we’ve lost to are 12-4. I think we all feel like it’s time for us to show up big against a team that is true contender, and this week, nothing better than facing the current Super Bowl Champions, the Kansas City Chiefs.
Last week, Mike McDaniel played it conservatively. He activated C Connor Williams, but chose to rest him and start C Liam Eichenberg, who by the way, played his best game. He continued to rest LT Terron Armstead, and perhaps his wisest move, activated DB Jalen Ramsey and gave him limited snaps of game action so he can dip his toe in the water and get a feel for game action after being out the entire season. This week, it seems as if Terron Armstead will be back at LT, Connor Williams will be back at C, G Lester Cotton will be playing LG, while G Robert Hunt has vowed he’s playing Sunday, he’s never missed a game. RT Austin Jackson, who gets very little press, has been a constant at RT, and has played admirably. DB Xavien Howard was also rested last week, and it appears as if he will suit up. There has been a lot of talk that Jalen Ramsey will be charged with defending Chief’s TE Travis Kelce. That’s a difficult matchup, but Kelce is unquestionably Mahomes’ favorite target, and a key to their offense. If Ramsey can limit Kelce’s production, Rashee Rice is the next weapon the Chiefs use, hauling in 30 of 39 targets for 361 yards and 3 TD’s. Kelce has 54 receptions for 583 yards and 4 TD’s. Skyy Moore and Kadarius Toney are the other receivers, besides of course the 2 RB’s, Isiah Pacheco and Clyde Edwards-Helaire.
Our defense is on the upturn, no doubt about that. We’re getting guys healthy, guys like Jaelan Phillips, and of course, the huge addition of Jalen Ramsey. Bradley Chubb is getting hot, and with Phillips healthy, and Andrew Van Ginkel also in the mix, that’s 3 guys, including the ever present Christian Wilkins and Zach Sieler that need to be accounted for. Chubb quietly leads the Dolphins 5 sacks, and is tied with AVG for most TFL with 7. Christian Wilkins has 11 QB hits followed by 10 by AVG. Chubb is right behind with 9. Chubb usually gets the bad chatter, but perhaps that isn’t entirely fair. We also missed S Jevon Holland who didn’t clear concussion protocol but will be back this week, and my fave Nik Needham, who played a minimal amount of snaps last Sunday, might see a larger role against KC this Sunday. If Ramsey is charged with covering Kelce all day, that leaves either Eli Apple or Kader Kohou on the opposite side of Xavien Howard, who by all accounts will be playing Sunday. Raheem Mostert is still dealing with an ankle injury, but is most likely going to play. Jeff Wilson Jr. is back and saw some carries last week , 5 to be exact. He’ll probably #2 on the depth chart behind Mostert until rookie De’Von Achane returns from IR, scheduled for Week 11.
This game is a huge matchup for the NFL, a true marquis game in front of the whole world in Germany, the 2nd game that will be played there. Last year, The Seattle Seahawks faced off against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in Munich, but this will be the first game played in Frankfurt. The Chiefs are mild favorites as they the “home” team, at -1.5. That’s showing a lot of respect for the Dolphins, although I know some here think we should be favored. This is a good test for this team, there should be a playoff type atmosphere in this game, the NFL fans in Frankfurt Germany are stoked to get NFL action back, their last taste of American Football since the Frankfurt Galaxy played in the NFL Europe league which ended its run in 2005. I’d love for the Dolphins to make a statement, that we are relevant, we can beat a contender. It doesn’t mean that we will be going to the Super Bowl, but it doesn’t hurt our chances of it either!
GO DOLPHINS!!!!

Shreaded
It moved. No td
Was our defense on the field this drive?
Bollocks
Exactly why we shouldn’t defer and should be aggressive
Most important possession in every game is first possession of second half
The 2nd half doesn’t always matter
When you have a great offense you want it in the bf ilex as much as possible
I hate that McDaniel keeps doing this
It. Moved. Seinfeld reference. LOL
That was way too easy
Guys were wide open this whole drive
We gotta get into the KC backfield.
They have 10
Sacks given up all year. Their OL is very good
Typical Fangio – rarely commits to pass rush or blitz early
That was KC HC outcoaching the Miami DC no prob
They read that okay and couldn’t tackle
Our D is over-hyped and not good enough.
Prove me wrong D
That was even worse
That was worse than the 1st TD
Play a good team, Back to the shitty D
Good thing our defense is whole for this game. 😳
This is not the killer Bs.
It’s the wet tissues
Not sure whether to laugh or cry
Claypool in
Fuck
Chaos in the huddle
Hill getting frustrated
Claypool
ugly
Oy. We look so outclassed, which is brutally sad
Out coached again
sigh
Are you watching Fangio?
Why did they blow it dead for a neutral zone infraction / shouldn’t that be a free play
If there is contact the play is dead
Gotta regroup, make a stop or turn them over on defense, and get a score of own
Glad we are well rested
Yeah, I think that just a bull shit storyline
Totally agree
We have lost five straight to above .500 teams. I’m really starting to think we can’t match the intensity that these games require .
Seems like it
Still early but looking like we’ve been listening to our own hype too much and walrus is coaching us and the Chiefs. Doesn’t help that we are playing ourselves and the Chiefs either
Gotta start to control the LOS or this is gonna be a long game. I’m just not sure we have the talent to do it.
I feel like we’ve lost every play but one
I love Wilkins, but I’m not spending $23 million per year on him
Holding on Phillips no call
lost my stream dammit
There is medication for that
Much better defense
got it back
Much better series
We badly needed that
We took care of part 1, now get the score!
3rd and long when we are most vulnerable. That’s a win
Great job, Defense.
Penetratio and pressure got us off the field.
No Waddle
He’s back 😁
Waddle looked gimpy after that
I thought so too Bri
Tua’s so confident, he throws in a crowd of 5
Tua missed that
Gotta get the run game going
Getting very little joy running here
Claypool missed that block.
We are so sloppy sometimes. It kills is in these types of games.
BS call
It was a good play call
He was one step from a massive play
I meant the illegal motion
If that was achane or mostert that was a TD
Exactly
Ditto
That illegal shift call was bs
The receivers weren’t moving
I thought the same thing
This
It’s not illegal for 2 guys to be shouting to each other at the same time.
can’t break a tackle
So far, not as competitive as I would like. The score doesn’t indicate how they have won the majority of plays
#5 pick 6 please and thanks
I want a TURNOVER
D is waking up
I’ll take the stop and a great return
Pacheko in the area? He was fecking miles away
It’s bs but that’s par for the course on “in the area”
Unbelievable that they wanted PI on that play
Wtf are they complaining about? Howard played that perfectly
Howard almost had better position that the receiver
Home game 4 the Chiefs. Hoping for some Philly love?
0 might have been beheaded if he hadn’t called FC there
Let’s go O
I guess they aren’t going to call any offensive holding this game?
Alright, we’re in a very manageable game after one quarter. Let’s see some Offensive explosiveness this drive.
I love three plays where I can’t figure out what is going on or who has to e ball
Hill has already run about 500 yds
And now dropped one
No room to run
Hill with a rare drop
Fuck me
Where’s Mostert?
Is Mostert hurt?
Ugh-lee
Two drops. Tyreek needed to lay out for that one.
That was fecking offside
Too many drops!
another drop
I guess I should be glad the Chiefs don’t start the 2nd half with the ball?
Analytics overwhelmingly support deferring
Not questioning the decision to defer, I like it. I just have nothing else to be happy about
Too many mistakes on our part
Anybody who made mention about a drop or drops… have a drink!
How many times you gonna call the same outside zone run for a yard before you figure out they scouted that play well and change it up or use it to set up something else?
Our D has to be outstanding and keep us in this game
O needs to settle down and execute
Randy, I agree
Ross needs a nap
#94 say’s keep on hating! 😉
Mahomes is campaigning for flags today
Christian Wilkins, take a bow!
The Chiefs are going to complain and eventually get a BS PI call
Yup
We have to getcpressue this down
We did
Let’s fucking go offense
Kohou with an excellent open field tackle
Big time
Allstate sucks!
Now let’s find Hill and Waddle down the field
🙏
And get the running game going
Nice pressure on Mahomes with that stunt.
If we don’t see Mostert on the field this drive, then he’s clearly hurt. Ahmed is a big dropoff in talent
That throw was perfect placement
Would have been a hard catch
But I love that thrown
