The Dolphins come home to Hard Rock Stadium and get an extra day of rest when they face off in a Monday Night Matchup against the Tennessee Titans. For those of you who don’t know, I used to love the Dolphins playing in a Monday Night Football affair. You also know how I lament the fact that it is no longer the NFL marquis matchup it used to be, and if my feelings aren’t enough to prove it, this is actually a Monday Night Doubleheader, the other game being the NY Giants hosting the Green Bay Packers. As a football fan before the likes of the NFL Sunday Ticket, nothing was more exciting than having the Dolphins slotted to play on Monday Night Football. With Thursday Night Football, Sunday Night Football and soon to come Saturday Football, it’s really just another game, which in my mind is a shame.
The Dolphins have a lengthy injury list, and those include LT Terron Armstead and RG Robert Hunt, and of course LB Jerome Baker, all who did not practice this week. Armstead still has a chance, but if I had to make a guess, I’d say Hunt won’t be playing this week. Good news is G Robert Jones is back at practice and full practice. T Kendall Lamm also did not practice which would give T Kion Smith another start if Armstead doesn’t go. RB Raheem Mostert gets these “maintenance” days which translates to veteran rest, and he’s good to go for Monday night, as well as De’Von Achane who participated in full and is no longer on the injury report. TE Durham Smythe did not practice but I suspect he will play Monday Night.
The Titans at 4-8 are having a miserable season, but QB Will Levis is a bright spot in the murky darkness. WR DeAndre Hopkins is having a nice comeback year, with 50 receptions for 774 yards and 5 TD’s. RB Derrick Henry is 2nd in the NFL just ahead of our own Raheem Mostert with 841 yards rushing and 8 TD’s. I don’t need to tell you all which back leads in the NFL in rushing TD’s, but it’s so much fun to say Raheem Mostert with 14! Mostert trails Henry by only 13 yards so let’s hope Mostert takes over 2nd place after this game. The Titans offense is 25th in the NFL scoring 17.8 points per game and the defense is mid pack at 16th, allowing 21.3 points per game. The Dolphins are 2nd in the NFL in scoring at 32 points per game and on defense, have improved to 21st allowing 22.2 points per game. Our defense has really been killing it, and although it was thought RB Derrick Henry may miss the game with a concussion, he will be playing. First we lost OLB Jaelan Phillips for the season and now LB Jerome Baker is week to week. AVG and Emmanuel Ogbah have done well in Phillips stead, and LB Duke Riley played his best game as a Miami Dolphins last week against the Commanders. It’s obviously a tough task trying to bring King Henry down at 6’3 247, so this defense will have to get to Henry early and not allow him to get a head of steam.
The Dolphins signed DE Jason Pierre-Paul, and also signed big DT Justin Ellis to the PS this week. Ellis is a massive 6’2 350 nose tackle type of DT who may help down the stretch as we know our DT’s all play tons of snaps. I think JPP will be playing mostly on the D-line either at end or maybe even tackle in pass russ situations. Both Sieler and Wilkins have been over 75% of the defensive snaps, so both Ogbah and JPP can give these guys a breather so they’re ready for the championship run. On offense, WR River Cracraft is back, although Tyreek Hill is the show in Miami. WR Jaylen Waddle is a distant 2nd to Tyreek, Waddle has almost exactly HALF the receiving yards (743) of Hill (1481) and 1/4 of the TD’s (3) to Hill’s (12). Still, Waddle is important as he’s always a threat, but he’s had a tough season with some untimely drops. RB Jeff Wilson seems as the break glass in case of emergency back with Mostert and Achane sharing very productive carries. WR Cedrick Wilson Jr. has quietly done some good things although the last 2 games he was not targeted.
Now that the Dolphins are the #1 seed, they have a target on their back, but also have a target set for themselves, to keep the #1 seed and play every post season game, with the exception of the Super Bowl at home at Hard Rock. Will Levis is a capable QB, and while his completion percentage is garbage at less than 60%, he has 7 TD’s and only 2 INT’s, splitting the season equally, and sharing a 2-4 record with QB Ryan Tannehill, who this season had 2 TD’s and 6 INT’s. Titans TE Chigoziem Okonkwo has the 2nd most receptions (35) behind WR DeAndre Hopkins (50) followed by RB Tyjae Spears with 33. We need to shut down King Henry and let our new dominant secondary and pass rush limit the Levis to Hopkins connection and we should be able to win this game. No trap games, every game must result in a W to maintain that all important home field advantage.

Garbage
Garbage…
Think it’s fair to say we can stop any SB talk now.
I never bought into it. I’ve read this book before- I know how it ends.
True dat
Garbage!
Garbage?
Garbage$#@&
Teams down 14 with 3 minutes to play have lost 767 straight games and we are going to break that streak
They going to score a TD and we only have 1 TO left
WTF
What?!?
Our passing game has been pathetic
Let’s see what Tua and this offense is made of
We deserve to lose
They let him in
BS, they got out played
Yes but that last play was intentional
WTF happened to AVG
Not sure I agree with that
This is way worse than the Rams yesterday
WAYYYYY worse
I can see it now. Bills win the division
Un fucking real
What a choke
Shitty end
Yup they are frauds
FUCK THE WORLD!!!
unreal … McDaniels all week kept saying if we don’t beat Tenn all the other playoff position talk means nothing.
That whole game is on MM. Totally unprepared. Nogtih all
Most fucking pathetic loss ever. And tua fucking always slips in these situations fuck you for making me believe
embarassing
They fucking deserved to fucking lose
I’m going to say this now- this team is in trouble for playoff seeding. Il not even confident we win the division with the schedule ahead of us.
Beerssssss
Everyone is worried about winning the AFC.
Fuck that we may not win the division.
Beer me
Many are way so over confident about this team
Would we have won had T-Stead been healthy?
But T-Stead can’t stay healthy.
Coming up small again
No excuses
CAME UP SMALL
Tua Should have ran forward as soon as the ball hit his hands
And THIS is why not beating any of those winning teams means something. Rarely does a team win every game they are supposed to win.
We won’t beat zach wilson next week either
We could earlier lose that game , and every other one on the schedule
I wouldn’t be surprised if we beat them handily, but I am not falling for this shit anymore. This team is weak when it matters. Tua always falls, fumbles the snap, whatever in big end of the game situations. Weak ass fucking BS frauds
Whoa whoa whoa…..settle down
We need a new Center, via the ’24 Draft.
Miami, you got BITCH slapped!!!!!!
Ugh, we played up and down all night but the way we played defense on the drive for them to get 8 points for 21 was really bad. That was on Fangio. Too much of a soft shell. That’s what I saw.
Does our Offense truly run through ‘Reek? If so, that’s the wrong strategy.
Losing at home to a 4-8 team with a rookie QB.
Fuck you for not having this team ready.
Apparently the players were buying into all the SB hype.
IF our kryptonite is the health of our O-Line, well…
SMALL
SMALL!!!!!!!!!!!!!
The grind continues.
With the exception of black friday against a high school level QB and offense, this team has come up SMALL in every primetime game they’ve played the last year and a half.
This is why 0/3 to winning teams matters- we win ONE of those games and we are 10-3
And once again, we were forced to play with backups to every O-Line position but for Austin Jackson.
That had a huge impact on our pass game. Tua was under pressure every pass play.
^
CORRECT!
The best we finish is 11-6. My thoughts right now are 10-7 with the way we okayed tonight.
What happened to the days of playing your best players even when hurt???? Players used to play injured and give it their all until they were almost dead.
Oh, he got a boo boo best sit him out this game until he feels better. Fucking pussies!
We could lose out the rest of the season with this OL.
Having them healthy for the stretch does no good if you struggle to get there
McDaniel came up small in playcalling inside the 10. 3 fucking times we were inside their goddamned 5 and he kept fucking calling pass plays when our rushing attack WAS WORKING. He’s been doing it all fucking year.
But our defense had maybe the most pathetic showing I’ve ever seen in the last 4 minutes of the game.
^^
The defense literally could have been any worse
Couldn’t
I’ve never seen a prevent defense that gave up huge plays AND let them consistently get out of bounds. It was unreal
IF memory serves, we are now officially 0-4 when playing without 3 starters on our O-Line. And that would be the case for any NFL team.
Our Offense is impotent without a legit O-Line.
Those are excuses we were up by 14 with three minutes to go. The Defense choked this game away too. No excuse for losing this game when Tennessee hamd s it to us on a silver platter.
^^^
Totally on Fangio and the D. No excuses!
And a line drive punt at the worst possible time. And a blocked fg by our wonderful STs and that fucker Crossman. And shitty playcalling inside the 10 by our HC who can’t seem to fucking learn when to run inside.
SMALLLLLLLLLLL!!!!!!
And we’re the only team in the league that can NEVER return a punt
I don’t think I;ve ever seen a ST unit that has the opponent punting around their own 25-30 that has to consistently fair catch as much as we do.
Lose to the 15th ranked team in the AFC at home. Wake the fuck up. You are not as good as you think you are.
You only had the lead because they fucked up twice badly.
Fangio and D, you got schooled by a rookie.
The Giants played better than this team tonight. Wish I had watched that game.
Jackson was the only starter left but had his worst game of the season. He got schooled and beat by Landry a lot.
Yes he did
Blocked FG was the difference but not saying Sanders would have made it anyway.
D lost this game.
I’m fecking livid
I have to be up in five hours for work and I’m still fucking furious
I’m out
I wonder how many more times this team will let us down this season.
3 to 4 times
😂😩
So glad I did not choose to go to SF for this game.
There’s a sliver lining for you
Was thinking January now for the Bills game.
Don’t do it. You’re just asking to witness heartbreak. I could see that game coming down to the division and us losing it.
I know
Looking at stats, we got dominated except in rushing.
They have 1 good WR and we couldn’t take him away. He dominated us even without the no call OPI.
There receivers were running wide open too often
Their
FUCK!!
Good night y’all
Really bad loss but still 9-4 and in the mix. The grind continues.🙂
The Bills have Dallas, the Chargers, NE and us. The last game of the season will decide the AFC East. This is why some of us wanted the Bills to lose to the Chiefs- the Dolphins can’t be trusted . Number one seed? I honestly don’t even think we are going to win the division. I don’t think this team has what it takes to win against Buffalo if it comes down to that situation.
This loss is either going to provide a learning experience and be a spring board to get things right, or the crumbling of a very promising season. The fact that we were down so many players on the O-line, yet it was the defense that couldn’t finish the game. I was going to write another scathing article leading in with the (don’t recall the exact number) but the 764 – 0 or so victories by teams leading by 14 points in the 4th quarter on MNF. I saw that graphic, and it haunted my sleep all night. How did our defense allow that to happen. We saw the Ravens hang on to win an ugly game against the Rams, we let this one go. Now the pressure is on us as we’re behind the Ravens. Hoping we spank the fuck out of the Jets next week and get back on track. Easier said than done.
It was 767-0 when leading by 14 with three minutes to go
Thanks Bri, it ruined my sleep. Such an embarrassing, brutal loss. I’m guessing they already shot Hard Knocks this week, I would have loved to see how the team reacted to this loss
Mine too. I’m not watching Hard Knocks this week.
I am still so fucking enraged by that game last night. We looked like the frauds that they were accusing us of being. The fact that the loss didn’t immediately effect our standings doesn’t matter we are still #2 seed this morning. They are bums. To give up like that in the 4th is an embarrassment.
First Monday Night Football game since 2017 (At Home) and we shit the bed. Maybe we won’t have another one for 6 years after that choke performance!!!
Boy, I know it’s only one loss and yadda yadda but that might have been the worst loss I’ve ever seen this team have. This isn’t a SB team. Not even close.
^^
And I’ll just say this. Tua hasn’t sold me yet. I know his OL was decimated, but he just cannot make plays on his own. This was a game where he needed to step up and take charge, and he couldn’t.
Agreed , but we can’t see down the field. I definitely think the receivers not getting open was a problem. I was hoping Waddle would step up.
Tua has not sold me yet either. It’s all about timing with him. Titans did a very good job of taking away the first read last night then the patch work OL could not sustain long enough.
I’m so f’ing angry! I let myself believe the hype about this team. Yesterday I was actually looking at tickets to the game in Baltimore on NYE. What was I thinking?!?!?
I know right. I decided to not go to SF this month and was going to put it off and go to the Bills game.
Not so sure this morning.
Randy – Don’t disagree completely about us being a SB team, but every team is flawed. We’ll have a much better idea where we stand when we play the Ravens.
I just got out of bed 20 min ago. Didn’t want to get up. Could have a little to do with drinking a half bottle of tequila during the game. Don’t even have a hangover except the one the Dolphins have given me. Hornitos clear tequila is the way to go. Never ever have I got a hangover with that stuff. Just feel run down and dehydrated.
Hell, I was drunk as F on tequila and didn’t throw or break anything in that last 3 minutes of the game. I just yelled and cussed at the TV. I guess that is another good thing about Hornitos. lol
I have broken glass in my carpets…
I mentioned it last night. It’s time to start playing these “questionable” players. Mainly OL. Fuck sitting them to have them healthy for the playoff run if you are going to struggle to even get there. Which we will with this current OL.
Time for Armstead to ditch the tampons and earn his freaking check.
TBH, I think Will Levis is going to develop into a pretty good NFL QB. He did some bonehead stuff, but he did lead his team to the greatest comeback in MNF history.
With a little help on the no call OPI.
Again about the OL, the remaining teams on the schedule got a blueprint on how to shut this offense down. If we have to play with 3 or more backups on the OL in ANY of our remaining games, we most likely won’t win any of those games.
The offense seemed really out of sync the whole game. From MM to Tua to the skill players missing blocks. Then they passed it on to the D in the 4th.
ALSO, to make my morning worse, I got up all groggy walked straight to the kitchen to get coffee and stepped in a pile of dog shit. I was wearing my Miami Dolphins slippers. What does that tell you???
Can’t get mad at the dog. She is a very old Jack Russell/Chihuahua mix. Probably why I didn’t see the little pile of turd. She doesn’t pee in the house but just started doing the duty in the kitchen where she sleeps. I think her time is coming unfortunately.
Ryder must be still pissed. He hasn’t put out a new video yet today.
I think it was over confidence and they got slapped in the face.
https://www.msn.com/en-us/sports/nfl/what-went-wrong-a-closer-look-at-miami-dolphins-historic-week-14-collapse/ar-AA1lmSWD?ocid=msedgntp&cvid=66021b5ff36045a8b61b0e64101b02ad&ei=17
The fact that we lost that game after recovering the muffed punt and having a pick 6 in the first quarter has me ready to break more shit! I cannot stop thinking about it.
same
Not trying to be a wise ass,
but we were playing FOUR
backup OL.
Wynn, Armstead, Williams, and Hunt were all out.
How many teams can win with that?
HOWEVER
because of the two fumbles the Titans gave us,
this loss falls on
Fangio #1
and the DBs #2.
On the other hand,
our STs gave up
a blocked FG,
a line drive punt,
and zilch in punt return yardage.
Then again,
our HC keeps playing cutesy ball
instead drive-blocking smash-mouth
in the RZ and on critical downs.
And is that same exact fade to Tyreek
the only pass play we have inside the 10?
What happened to Cracraft crossing?
or why did we even get Claypool? STs?
This is why I wanted Ertz or some TE and not let go of Gesicki.
(I’m ok with not having a RZ TE if we have a viable alternative.)
plus we have 2 good pass catching speed backs.
Finally, as several of you have also noted,
we do not need to drive the entire offense through Tyreek.
This is another game in which McDaniel got out-coached.
100% Ryder’s video below shows it.
I couldn’t watch it all
Tua was 23 of 33 for 240, with no INTs,
which is ok but obviously not enough.
Tua’s passing did not lose this game.
HC’s poor game management and lack of a game plan
and DC’s collapse and lack of control of his men
and ST’s dingbat moves lost it.
We got 158 yards rushing and our only offensive TDs,
which averages to 5 ypc,
and yet we couldn’t figure out how to control the clock when it counted.
Hopkins took over the game. He can do that.
Without Hopkins, they don’t win that game.
But his ability to do that is not news.
Where was our plan to take him out of the game,
especially in the 4th Qtr?
Kudos to our run D which snuffed Henry,
but our LBs had no answer to Spears
catching passes.
Riley was way too far away from him.
I put lots of that on Fangio, since we know
Riley is fast and usually a good cover LB.
Least the knockout from that game came quick and fast.
A lot of you guys are going to the defense cause of the ending, but I’m pointing to the O. The O was gifted the two TDs and Seiler did the other one. So essentially the O scored 6 points earned.
And when you are averaging 5 yards plus on rushing plays….. how hard is it to figure out what to do? We should have been up 10-14 points before the turnovers that turned into TDs came.
outcoached
They were taking away the quick throws and the deep throws, and we couldn’t adjust and just left Tua to try to make something happen with a second string OL giving up constant pressure and coverage sacks.
“But the short version, based on their words and our observations, is that the Dolphins stopped running before they hit the tape, had players in new positions struggling to execute their assignment, and had some of their biggest stars play their worst at the worst possible time.”
MSN.com
Herbert out for the season. The Dolphins sucked so bad I can’t even enjoy the pain and misery of other fans
There are numerous terrible parts to that loss.
But the worst part is that it reveals how to beat our offense.
Now, right when it is most critical,
all the other DCs get fresh tape.
Actually, it’s been done before.
Houston did it last year, and so did SF.
AND
all the OCs got a tutorial on how to beat our DBs.
This is Tyreek’s comments on his injury and the rest of his season.
It’s bad.
https://atozsports.com/miami/miami-dolphins-tyreek-hill-injury-update-ankle-monday-night-football/
“She was like ‘you’d better your a** back in that game dawg.'” — sounds Tyreek’s wife is a baller.
Only 61 yard receiving really put a dent in Tyreek’s average to get to 2000 yards. He is going to need 115 yards per game going forward to make the record. Not that I give a damn if we do not WIN a playoff game this year.
Ramsey said he
“believes miscommunication was the big problem — which is not entirely surprising, considering the Dolphins were down to backups at both safety positions after DeShon Elliott left the game with rib and head injuries. Jevon Holland didn’t play at all due to knee issues.
That left Brandon Jones and Elijah Campbell to keep things together…but they couldn’t.
“We did have a couple of guys down,” said Ramsey, who gave up two catches for 58 Monday, per Next Gen Stats. “I don’t like to use excuses, but when you don’t get to practice with certain guys that, that hurts a little bit sometimes. But regardless, it’s just football man and we got to figure out a way to play better in those moments.”
Meanwhile, Xavien Howard surrendered six catches for 129 yards on 11 targets Monday night. Put another way, the Dolphins’ two star corners had their worst game of the season on the same night.”
MSN.com
Howard got torched.
Board is fired up pissed over the loss. Gonna be interesting to see how the actual players reacted on Hard Knocks. But today is an off day so won’t get the look into the facility.
Good one!
I hope Armstead reads what Tyreek said.
“And my mindset is like, I’m going to go in, I’m going to dominate no matter how I feel. If I get locked up, it happens. If I drop a pass it happens man, but just know I’m out there. I’m going. So that’s my mindset.”
My first thoughts were that the MVP committee would have to be blind not to give Tyreek the award. Team plays like an 8-9 team when he’s not on the field. Tua looks like a lost backup without his easy safety blanket and the automatic open passes he gets from Reek. It’s pretty damn obvious he’s saved McDaniel’s bacon so far as well. A young coordinator putting together a cutesy but ass offense isn’t exactly world-shattering skill.
My second thought is that I hope this game is a wakeup call. Not for the players who mostly don’t seem to give a shit but for the fans who ignored all the warning signs all year long. Having one of the easiest NFL schedules. Not beating anyone good. Losing badly to the average Bills. Getting shut down last year when Tyreek wasn’t on fire. This team is average AT BEST when Tyreek isn’t dominating. If any playoff caliber team shuts him down, we’ll get blown the F out. This is the REAL team this year. Last night is what we really are. A team that can’t beat a rookie QB and a really bad TN team.
The last 3 teams will beat our asses and the Bills will probably win the division in the last week. We are the Kevin Durant of NFL teams. Soft as warm butter and easily dominated by stronger foes. We don’t have Steph Curry to offset the weakness of our dudes because they are all soft and fragile as fuck. This isn’t the NBA and soft teams won’t win it all.
I’m guessing we make the playoffs and more likely than not win the division. That ain’t bad. Never bought into the SuperBowl hype.
I don’t know if anyone else posted, but Connor Williams is out for the season for the torn ACL
Fuck!
