The Dolphins first pick was made and it was a good one. I was definitely hoping we would choose an edge rusher. O-line should definitely be the next priority, but I felt EDGE was our top need. To be honest, it wasn’t Robinson that was my first choice. He wasn’t my second choice either. I was hoping Laiatu Latu fell, or Jared Verse, but as it happens, neither of them made it to our pick, but the need was still addressed. So for that I’m pleased. Brian in NY and M both both watch Penn State religiously, and Brian vouches for Chop, so I’m cool with that. What worries me is his lack of sacks at the college level, but he has what you can’t teach, maybe the most impressive burst in this draft class, and tremendous closing speed. Hopefully, the rest is coachable, and that results in a lot more production at the pro level. He’ll be ready to go right out of the chute, and they will use him in favorable situations.
We’ve discussed it here so many times, but the truth is we have no idea what the timetable is for our 2 OLB’s, Bradley Chubb (ACL surgery) and Jaelan Phillips (Achilles surgery), so therefore I felt, and the Dolphins brass also felt that OLB was as much as a priority as the O-line. In addition, the depth quality at EDGE is nowhere as deep as the O-line is, so I think we can still land a quality OL at #55. Players like, Zach Frazier OG Cooper Beebe, Christian Hayes, and Zak Zinter could help us now and down the line. One thing though about our first pick Chop Robinson though is that he will probably be a rotational player and used at multiple positions to maximize his skills. While that’s good, it’s also going to put a lot on his plate, so hopefully he’s up for that challenge. The comparison for Chop is Micah Parsons, but as one NFC scout said :
“I get the comparison to Micah Parsons, but I think Parsons was a little more polished as a football player when he came out. Chop is still a little green.” – NFC national scout
Another thing to consider is how much longer is Bradley Chubb with the team? This is his 2nd ACL surgery, and not that ends any NFL player’s career these days, I mean Frank Gore had 2 ACL surgeries before he got to the NFL, and he played 16 seasons and rushed for 16,000 yards. Chubb’s dead cap hit will be high in ’25 and in ’26, but it’s still possible he’s gone after this season or next, and of course Jaelan Phillips had his 5th year option picked up, but we saw Christian Wilkins walk, if Phillips has a great season this season and we haven’t already given him an extension, that could go poorly for us like it did with Wilkins.
As I’ve previously mentioned, the flux on the O-line is real, there are a lot of players that are here on one year contracts, so we need to find some players that will be here for a while, so I very strongly feel our next pick will be for the O-line. Sure, we could use a Safety, we could use another WR, a RB who runs with a nasty demeanor and has a little power to push the pile on short yardage plays and more. With the addition of TE Jonnu Smith, I put the priority low for TE. If Weaver follows suit from Ravens DC Mike McDonald, the safety position is important as he likes Swiss Army knife guys that play in multiple positions, so at some point in the draft I’d expect a safety to be chosen by us. Oregon State’s Kitan Oladapo who is a big Safety 6’2 216, more like a SS, but could due to his size play a little LB and excel in pass coverage against a TE. Utah’s Cole Bishop is another longer player who can also potentially cover a TE. Everyone’s favorite here thoough is Iowa’s Cooper DeJean, who is listed as a CB, but has Safety potential in the NFL. Don’t be surprised if Grier trades back either, considering once again, the huge gap between our picks from RD2 – RD5, over a 100!
GO DOLPHINS!!!

GOOD! Kris Jenkins to the Bengals! Keep pushing that O-Line talent down to us!
There goes Jenkins
We don’t need a DT.
So Bengals can go fuck themselves.

I wish we could pick 5 at a time.
Not all the teams, just us.
Richmond Webb will be announcing our pick if you didn’t know
He should be in the hall of fame , great guy too
can we pick him again?
Stealers* HAVE to be going WR on the clock right now, right?
if they take another ol I want – I’ll be furious
ME TOO!
honestly we can probably trade back
Not sure we should do that ATM… but we’ll see.
I hate the pound for pound argument, come on Saban let someone else talk, if you ain’t got shit to say
Saban is so boring.
nothing but cliches
Michigan ha a lot of good players.
d
I agree and their talent translates to NFL
at this point my best guesses are:
1 Bullard, S or
2 Frazier, C
I say…
1a) Christian Haynes
1b) Cooper Beebe
Haynes shhh
^
BPA no sense in taking a mediocre OL
I don’t beleive it. Fucking steeelers
lol Pitt
Still pissed about Marino
Ouch!
Fautanu and Frazier
what a draft for them
Frazier’s a bit stiff but a good player we could have made into a guard.
Kam Kinchens
I’d LOVE it!
Still feel like he could slip to the 3rd round though.
fuck you Steelers
Frazier was named after Zach Thomas – his dad is a huge fan
that hurts
Depending on who we get at 55, we might really need to trade a next year’s 3rd to get back into this year’s 3rd.
Would we need to trade TWO thirds to do that? or would that get us another 2nd this year? (hopefully)
we don’t have 2 2025 3rds
Correct… at least not at hand.
Naples,
Until we are officially awarded compensatory picks (3rd rounder) for 2025, we can’t deal it. Won’t become official anytime soon.
I thought we did.
I’d do it for Kam Kinchens.
If Washington takes ANYBODY not named Christian Haynes or Cooper Beebe, we’ll get one or the other… if we so choose.
BYU OT still out there
And I’m not sure he’s even healthy enough to start for the ’24 season.
Shit I wanted Adonai.
Oh well at least Buffalo didn’t get him.
You don’t take a position just to do it. The value has to be there. I have seen Christian Hayes linked to us.
a lot of these guys look great today, give it a few months
Steve
We SHOULD get a comp in 2025 round 3 for Christian Wilkins to go with our natural 3rd.
We might get two … another one for Hunt, but I’m guessing that’ll be a 4th.
not going to help us today
No love for Michael Hall Jr. OHIO STATE, or Blake Fisher NOTRE DAME?
I mentioned Fisher, but I’m. It too surprised he’s still there
but you can see him as our pick…
well, OL is there for the taking
There goes BBMike’s TE
Ben Sinnott to the Commanders!
We’ll have one — if we so wish — of Christian Haynes or Cooper Beebe!!! And we didn’t even need to trade up!
cool … we don’t need Sinnott.
on clock
was Nassib really an NFL legend?
Brownies take Michael Hall!
Should we trade down a couple of spots now?
yes…
if we want OL
Hoping it’s Haynes
alright
Everyone get you most vicious insults ready
Okay here we go.
no prob … we don’t need a DT.
Pick is in!
We’re going to commercial again, right?
Webb getter done
Patrick Paul!!!
I honestly didn’t see that one coming.
Kiper’s motor mouth is obnoxious.
look at his size man!
Told you
wingspan galore
Big developmental tackle.
which is perfect given armsteads situation
Armstead’s eventual replacement.
Well we covered needs 👍
I’ve seen him in the 2nd in nearly every mock so it makes sense
FINALLY!!!! 6’7″ and 331 pounds!!
Now get us 2 ore O-Linemen tomorrow!!
“MORE”
YES!!!
our next pick is in the 5th round. But I wouldn’t mind i]more OL at all
meh for now but maybe he’ll get better and be ok
6’7 335 long arms
Terron’s replacement
insurance this year, o ce injuries hit
I don’t think I’ve ever seen arms at 36 1/4″ long! Yardsticks!
All the better for refs to call holding with! 😉
OL and DL. That’s the way to strengthen your team
TRUTH!
^
so we don’t pick again until around 4pm Est time tomorrow
unless we trade up
Footage of Paul at Houston
https://makeagif.com/i/703gPR
lol
lol
🤣
I hope
He was the Blue guy 🤔
I’m surprised we took him this early, BUT when you don’t pick again until 5th rd (?) you gotta take him if you like him.
Fingers crossed. He’s got the measurables, thats for sure.
Coach him up.
he broke the measurables
I used to know a guy named Paul Patrick. Two first names
It’s been said to NEVER trust a man with two first names as their first and last name… LOL
I absolutely believe we’re going to see a trade-up this evening. Highly doubt we get back into the 2nd round (but who knows?), but I see us absolutely trying to regain our lost 3rd rounder [using a future pick(s)]… and we need a Safety.
May it be for Kam Kinchens!!!
he had the 4th most bench reps at the combine which is really hard to do with long arms
low ceilings?
That’s a GRAND point… and true.
He’s not very mobile.
I thought we wanted sweet feet.
Maybe we move Austin Jackson to LT and
put the big kid at RT where he can just maul guys while standing there.
I read that he was athletic in some of the scouting reports online
Then again, with a leftie QB, maybe Austin being the blind side protector is good and the big kid can seal the edge for Achane to get the corner.
BOOM!
LOL @ Toba
At this point in time, I’ve gotta think we tried to get back into the late 1st round yesterday for Graham Barton.
Only thing is… PP didn’t play against STRONG teams. The rest of the bunch had.
true but they did play Texas who had already had 2 DL taken so far
That’s encouraging and he gets apprentice (lol) under Armstead
LOL
Naples,
saban said that he has really good feet. He knows more than everyone on this blog combined!
not in a Rex way I’m presuming
Paul’s father was president of Nigeria and was assassinated. 😳
Dang
I hope the bills pick the janitor.
Or the janitor’s apprentice, even! 😉
Would be a good pick
somebody’s gotta cleanup that shit town
Armstead, Jackson, Lamm and Paul at tackle. Now all the other guys can compete on the interior.
Tomorrow take the BPA at any position because 5-7 are never projected starters.
Wanted oline and dline with our first two picks. Got oline and dline with our first two picks.
next time – want for me to win the lottery
lol
We drafted get after the QB and protect the QB. 🙂
“We have the meats”
Two extremely important aspects of the game. Hopefully both are capable
Watching Paul tape, his hands are great, uses them to hold on every play
Reminds me of that monster LT from jets Mehki Becton, slow as fuck
Brian
thanks for that.
Saban is a piece of shit,
but I hope he’s right about the kid’s feet.
😂
Chefs* are on the clock, trading up from the 49ers…
The most important thing to remember about this O-Line mess is the fact that ONE draft choice is NOT ENOUGH to fill our O-Line needs. By hook or by crook, we need at least TWO more candidates who could step in and start if needed THIS SEASON!!
This shit about picking guys off the street AND STARTING THEM RIGHT AWAY HAS GOT TO END!!
Mike E, a belated THANKYOU for yet another outstanding write.
The Old Dolfan finally gets time off tomorrow after working 14 consecutive days!!
”Hopefully both are capable “ is the most encouraging thing Mike has said about the Dolphins since November.
Rightfully so!
we’ll get you fired up by Fest time don’t come come down here and make me do it lol
We Have Playmakers
10 10 11 > 7 8 7
Everything is different now 👍
he’ll be great, if he doesn’t get called for holding
He doesn’t pass the eye test, because he can’t move
2 left feet in cement
The sixty three pick
While I’m not the biggest fan of Nick Saban, why would anybody think he’s a POS?
he’s got that just stepped in dogshit look on his face, as a regular look
😆
he’s like Belichick, they’re assholes, but know their shit front and back
Yes, Saban IS a genius.
he left us on pretty bad terms
whoever just announced the KC pick has marbles in his mouth
I KNOW why Phin fans HATE Nick Saban: he said he wasn’t going anywhere, and then he went to Tuscaloosa.
Fun fact: it was his wife Terri who couldn’t tolerate the Miami scene and wanted to move back to the bayou. Terri wears the pants in the Saban family, and for those of you who are married, I know you already know.
I kind of think he could not hack it in the pros
and could not handle working with grown ups
That’s entirely possible as well, but that’s not the sole reason, either.
BS sports media — once again — tried to DESTROY Nick Saban for his wife’s wishes.
Again, I’m not the biggest fan of Nick Saban, but he’s not the villain he’s been made out to be.
jets just selected some one from children of the corn
LMFAO!!!
😆
Paul’s feet or athleticism aren’t a problem. His issues are what a lot of taller guys deal with. He needs to work on his stance and sinking his hips. His footwork is poor, but his foot quickness is fine. His feet are too close, and he takes short strides. It leaves him short on blocks. When guys are short, they reach and grab. He’s another Jackson. Athletic and raw.
you make saying-raw sound creepy
I need a shower…
For the life of me, I can’t believe both Christian Haynes and Cooper Beebe are still on the board.
good – 1 more IOL for us and I’ll be estancia
ecstatic
This is the most guys FSU has put into the draft in a while
Anyone know if Paul did a 30 visit with us?
yes, but he actually didn’t come to South Florida
he just shook hands with Grier while he was in Houston by reaching towards Miami
LOL
That’s funny.
son,
But, I didn’t say raw. I only printed it. It was your mind that added any connotation. Lol
oh the impression I have of you

A) I do not support chauvinistic stereotyping of women or their roles in marriage. or cliche portrayals thereof.
B) Small Town Terri could not handle the Big City, the Fast Lane, or the Jet Set.
South Beach is for the in-crowd, fashionistas, topless on the beach, not the Amish, the wall-flower, the granny-panties, the Uncool.
C) Saban thrived as the Big Man in the Small Town of Tuscaloosa. He was perfect to recruit in Alabama. He is a knowledgeable football mind. But he’s a stiff.
There goes Cooper Beebe to the Cowboys!
I guess we’re done till the 5th.
It’s hardly worth trading into this level of player.
Half these guys won’t last 2 years in the league.
without Saban doing that to us Greg Camarillo wouldn’t hold a place in Dolphins lore
Camarillo … my all time HERO.
Falcons should’ve picked Spencer Rattler.
Fun fact: I mentioned Cooper Beebe in a tweet a few days ago and somebody favorited it. I looked at who it was, and I thought it was Cooper’s brother. Turns out, it was Cooper’s father!
Yeah, we now follow each other on X. Just congrated him for his son being drafted!
pretty cool
