I’d say the majority of Miami Dolphins fans, here on this blog, and everywhere else as well, feel the Dolphins are in win now mode. I decided to make a little comparison as to what we’ve done so far in the 2024 offseason, and what our rivals have done, some playoff teams themselves last season, and others that are poised to make a playoff run. The looming question is, have we done enough to keep up with the best of the AFC, and those lurking to potentially surpass us? Let’s take a little dive into what some other teams have done, and compare that to the current state of the roster here in Miami.
Buffalo Bills
LOSSES
The Bills finally parted ways with oft disgruntled WR Stefon Diggs, acquiring a 2nd RD pick in 2025, but the Bills needed to send two draft picks and Diggs, a 2024 6th RD pick and a 2025 5th RD pick. Diggs was a top receiver in this offense, so the Bills had work to do to replace his production. The Bills also lost a top defender, CB Tre’Davious White in Free Agency to the LA Rams. They lost OLB Leonard Floyd, S Jordan Poyer, ST’s ace S Siran Neal, and DT Jordan Phillips.
GAINS
The Bills managed to re-sign a few of their own defenders such as DE A.J. Epenesa, DE DaQuan Jones, and CB Cam Lewis. On offense, the Bills brought in QB Mitch Trubisky, RT La’el Collins, RB Ty Johnson and our old friend WR Mack Hollins. In the draft, the Bills addressed the loss of Stefon Diggs by drafting FSU WR Keon Coleman, who is a big WR, 6’3 215 who has good run after the catch and the ability to win 50/50 balls. How fast Coleman can fill Diggs shoes remains to be seen. The Bills next pick was Utah S Cole Bishop. Bills added Duke DT DeWayne Carter with their 3rd RD pick. In general, not an overwhelming draft for the Bills. Coleman has question marks as far as absorbing the playbook, but he does have a physical presence and good blocking ability as well as RAC ability, and the way Josh Allen extends plays, as long as he comes back to his QB, he could end up getting a lot of action.
SUMMARY
The Bills appear to have taken a step back, but as I’ve said here many times, as long as Josh Allen is their QB, and he’s healthy, they are a dangerous team.
Kansas City Chiefs
LOSSES
I’m not going to list the KC losses because KC managed to not lose any significant players
GAINS
The Chiefs did a tremendous job retaining many of their core players. It started with the re-signing of DT Chris Jones to a 5YR/$158M contract. The Chiefs also re-signed 3 other DT’s Michael Danna, Derrick Nnadi and long time vet Mike Pennell. For speed, they brought in WR Marquis Brown. Little did the Chiefs know they would be gift wrapped more speed, when the Buffalo Bills allowed them to trade for a mere pick swap at pick #28 in RD 1, as the Chiefs then selected WR Xavier Worthy. Honestly, there’s nothing exceptional in the rest of KC’s draft, so I won’t bore you.
SUMMARY
The Chiefs did a fantastic job retaining their own guys and fortifying their receiving corps with WR Marquis Brown in FA and then WR Xavier Worthy in RD 1 of the draft. They also added veteran TE Irv Smith and re-signed RB Clyde Edwards-Helaire. That’s a top organization showing the rest of the NFL how it’s done. Win two Super Bowls, and still manage to keep your guys, and have money to improve the team.
New York Jets
LOSSES
The Jets lost LB Bryce Huff, SS Jordan Whitehead, TE C.J. Uzomah, RT Mekhi Becton, CB’s Bryce Hall and Justin Hardee, DT Quinton Jefferson and OG Laken Tomlinson
GAINS
The Jets picked up a more viable backup QB signing veteran QB Tyrod Taylor. A big FA signing for the Jets was former LA Charger WR Mike Williams. The Jets aded some legit beef for the D-line signing former SF 49er Javon Kinlaw. They re-signed 3 of their own, DE Solomon Thomas, P Thomas Morestead and S Ashtyn Davis. They also signed former Cowboys LT Tyron Smith and added even more beef for the O-line signing former Ravens OG John Simpson. In the draft, the Jets stole some of our own guys here favorite OL, OT Olu Fashanu from Penn State. In RD 3, the Jets took slot WR Malachi Corley from Wisconsin. They also selected a guy heavily rumored to come here, CB Qwan’tez Stiggers in RD 5.
SUMMARY
The Jets most definitely improved their roster in the offseason. They re-made the left side of their own line, a huge problem last season with 2 strong vets, LT Tyron Smith and LG John Simpson. Nabbing Olu Fashanu is a great player to learn from Tyron Smith and even replace him if Tyron gets injured, which much like our own vet LT Terron Armstead, is a certainty. They prioritized keeping QB Aaron Rodgers healthy, and if healthy, the Jets will obviously be significantly better than they were last year with QB Zach Wilson. Adding WR Mike Williams was a big get and he should help this offense tremendously. If Aaron Rodgers can stay healthy they’re right up there with us and the Bills to contend for the AFC East crown.
Baltimore Ravens
LOSSES
Huge loss for the Ravens was LB Patrick Queen. Another big loss was OG John Simpson. Ravens also lost promising WR Devin Duvernay, a good return man. They lost 2 CB’s in Ronald Darby and Rock Ya-Sin. A somewhat lesser loss was DE Jadeveon Clowney. In addition, the Ravens jettisoned 2 RB’s, J.K. Dobbins and Gus Edwards. They also lost young backup QB Tyler Huntley.
GAINS
The Ravens big move of FA was re-signing their star DE/DT Justin Madubuike to a huge 4 YR/$98M contract. Well, the Chiefs and Ravens both re-signed their star D-linemen, so . . . The Ravens then added bruising RB Derrick Henry to their stable, so definitely a huge net gain there losing Edwards and Dobbins and getting King Henry. The Ravens also re-signed CB Arthur Maulet, QB Josh Johnson, LB Malik Harrison, DE Brent Urban and WR Deonte Hardy. In the draft the Ravens quickly replaced the loss of Ronald Darby and Rock Ya-Sin with Clemson CB Nate Wiggins. The Ravens then bolstered the O-line with OT Roger Rosengarten for depth. They aded Edge rusher from Penn State Adisa Isaac, who played DE.
Summation
The Ravens, always a top organization, definitely improved their team in the offseason, keeping their guy Justin Madubuike, and then adding a huge weapon for Lamar Jackson in RB Derrick Henry. The best are the best for a reason!

Good news for the Miami Dolphins, they have signed WR Odell Beckham Jr., to a 1YR/$3M deal that can rise to $8.25M if incentive clauses are met. Let’s hope he earns the $8.25M
So where do the Dolphins stand in all of this? I think OBJ is a nice insurance plan for if/when either Waddle or Hill can’t go full strength. There was a significant dropoff last season and although I didn’t want OBJ here, that was mostly die to what I figured was going to be some ridiculous salary that was going to frustrate me, but we did it right. An incentive laden contract that’s good for the Dolphins even if those incentives are met. You all know I feel about our D-line, and in general, the flimsy construction of our roster. Let’s stop using the tight window to win as an excuse, we haven’t won squat, and teams like the Kansas City Chiefs and Baltimore Ravens who are perennial contenders managed to keep their roster intact and improve their teams. We managed to get wiped in a Wild Card massacre and then jettison 2 of our best trench players in Christian Wilkins and Robert Hunt. Then I get to hear a chorus of “Those guys weren’t that good, not worth the money” Well, they were the best we had, and we replaced them with players lesser than them, so in no way, shape or form was that a win for the team. C Aaron Brewer better be a top player for us, because we gave him, one of the sole guys who has a multi year contract, money that could have kept either Wilkins or Hunt. To add, 28 players on one year contracts are POOF!, all gone next season.
Our draft was underwhelming on paper. Grier prides himself as drafting BPA, well this year he took the 4th best EDGE rusher in Chop Robinson. Still on the board, OT/C Graham Barton, CB Quinyon Mitchell (#1 CB prospect), OT Tyler Guyton. No way can Grier look anyone in the eye and say he took the BPA. In the scheme of things, that’s not very important, I think he took a huge need, and I’m good with that. I also liked that he doubled down with Mo Kamara. Our 2nd pick was a little tougher to swallow. Patrick Paul better be a quality starter at LT next season for us, otherwise this pick was a miss. Once again, pleased we signed OBJ, who hopefully doesn’t have to be overused, but can help when an injury hits us, and maybe contribute on 3rd downs when we need a more reliable option. I think the Jets have caught up to us, the Patriots could struggle a bit with a new QB, but Drake Maye could be dangerous and if he bites early, who knows? The Bills seem to have gone backwards, as we have IMO, but preseason predictions are just that, preseason predictions. Always hoping for the best!
GO DOLPHINS!!!

Mike, you didn’t mention Sieler.
I know, he’s the only DT that’s a given

Cav Kong,
Are you telling us that apes and felines can get along in harmony?!! If so, NICE!
I love my cat, too… as does the Hulkster.
We have two cats. I love one of them always, and I love the other one half the time- the other half I wish she would go play in traffic.
This year, cat memes are my contribution to breaking the off-season monotony, lol.
Next year, I might go back to Calvin and Hobbes…or maybe The Far Side…or something I haven’t come up with yet.
Well for whatever it may be worth, I’m LOVING your cat memes! 😀
🙂 👍
This is one of my favorite times of year. SO much nature to observe in my own backyard from birds, fish, deer (I’ll kill them ALL if they wreck my car again!!!), and the like.
Oh yeah… and it’s the beginning of bikini season, too! 😀
And perhaps my favorite part of this time of year? BBQ season! LOVE IT!!!
It’s always BBQ season.
👍👍
Hey Guys I like BBQ too!! But I like NHL Playoff Hockey EVEN MORE!!!
Right now the Carolina Hurricanes and the N.Y. Rangers are tied 3-3 almost midway through the third period in the Mecca of Hockey, Madison Square Garden!!
It’s been THE BEST PLAYOFF GAMR I’ve SEEN THIS YEAR!!
Back to the TV!!
And do YOURSELF a favor. Switch over to ESPN for the conclusion of this epic playoff game!
WELL the Hurricanes ALMOST WON THE GAME with a short-handed goal in the last 20 seconds. But Rangers’ goalie Igor Shesterkin came up with a big save, so it’s on to overtime.
I’ll watch a bit of the O.T., —then it’s off to dreamland because tomorrow’s a big day at work!!
Y’all have a great evening. How lucky we all are to live in a country with so many outstanding sporting options!!
New take on strength of schedule, that I can get behind
Although many insist on using last year’s win-loss record to determine strength of schedule, things change so quickly in the NFL that is always a better idea to use Las Vegas’ win total projections for the upcoming season. Although the betting world doesn’t get everything right, they’re usually pretty darn close in the grand scheme of things.
Using this method, popularized by Warren Sharp from Sharp Football, the Bills’ schedule ranks 23rd in the league (32nd being the toughest). Meanwhile, both the Miami Dolphins and New York Jets have two of the eight very easiest schedules in the league! (Jets 4th, Dolphins 8th).
Now they are saying the schedule release won’t be until 8pm 5/15/24.
needed more time to make ours tougher on us
@AdamSchefter
This season’s schedule features nine playoff rematches, including all four Divisional Round games, both Conference Championships as well as the Super Bowl.

Mostert, what do you think of drafting Jaylen? The more the merrier he says
More depth at the position only helps him, by taking focus off of him, if Jaylen Achanes it

How do they know that, when they don’t even know what the D scheme will look like
Crabbs says, Raiders Greg Van Roten is the best fit at RG for us in FA, and Risner isn’t better than Eichenberg, who isn’t starting material Jones either
He’s probably right.
van Rote does seem more mobile than most OGs, which is a good fit for us obviously.

I’m crabbier than Crabbs any day of the week!
I’ve always been a dog person (mostly because of cat allergies) , but we finally got 2 cats last year and I like them better than our dog. They’re supposed to be for my daughters, but they stay attached to me. The dog is an absolute menace.
That’s funny…where’s the scratching (pedicure station) post? lol
LOL, good point, that should definitely be one of the corners.
I expect Weaver to get Chop on the field as much as possible. That kind of size and speed to wreck plays. He also seems to be a level headed kid focused on football. PSU played him all over the place.
Agreed. I think Weaver will want Chop to come out of the blocks hot. If he can wreak havoc until the full-time return of both Chubb and Phillips, it’s going to benefit us, by and large.
Question: would we have taken Chop @ R1P21 had Chubb and Phillips not sustained their repective injuries last season? Would we have even bothered to bring in Shaq Barrett? Would we have doubled-down on pass-rushers with Mohammed Kamara in the 5th round?
At least to me, THIS signifies that we are absolutely going ALL-IN again this year (I LIKE THAT!). That, and we probably have plans to dispatch of Chubb and his $$$ before much longer. Too bad we spent one of our two 1st rounders of 2023 to acquire Chubb from the Broncos, being Steve Ross got our our natty 1st rounder forfeited.
Hindsight sucks (regarding the 2023 Draft, being we had no 1st rounders), yet Chris Grier is still keeping us in the game. For how much longer(?), I do not know… the can that he keeps kicking down the road is going to catch up to us soon.
WELL the Boston Bruins took a 1-0 lead into the second period of tonight’s Playoff game in south Florida against the Panthers. When the dust settled, the Cats had an impressive 3-1 lead, including a goal in the LAST SECOND of the period!!
If the Panthers win this game, the series will be 1-1. LAST YEAR, the heavily favored Bruins took a 3-2 series lead into game 6, only to lose and force a 7th and deciding game back in BAWSTON!! The Panthers rallied to tie the game in the final moments of regulation. Early in the overtime, the Panthers scored THE SERIES WINNING GOAL IN FRONT OF A STUNNED, DISBELIEVING, CROWD suddenly, the Bruins’ record setting season (most goals and most points EVER in the regular season0 WAS OVER!!
TO SAY bOSTON IS LOOKING FOR REVENGE would be a major understatement!! I expect THIS PLAYOFF SERIES will be another titanic struggle between two really outstanding teams.
GO PANTHERS!!!
ppl sleep on Malik WWashington because he fell to 4th round, but he caught the most passes in college last year and finished 4th in total receiving yards even though he lined up in slot a lot.
the 3 WRs with more yards are all 1st round picks, but Malik had more receiving yards than the top WR pick in the draft.
6th round
Malik drop rate was 5th best and his forced missed tackles was most.
he was 3rd in 20+yard catches and 8th in contested catch success.
He’s been compared to Steve Smith as he is 5-11 200.
AFTER Florida expanded their 3-1 lead to 5-1 the Boston goalie was pulled and the game got quickly totally out of hand. At least a half dozen or more fights broke out at the same time. The out-manned crew of officials let some fights drag on for several minutes while other fights eventually ended AFTER some real damage was done to some of the players. It was a colossal donnybrook!!
The final 4 or 5 minutes were played before a few more scuffles broke out. The Panthers scored yet another goal making the final score 6-1.
NO DOUBT THE BOSTON MEDIA WILL PLAY THESE FIGHTS UP FOR ALL THEY’RE WORTH!! And the commissioner’s office doubtless will issue some very heavy fines plus some possible suspensions to key players.
TV ratings for the next game will be off the charts!! Nosebleed tix may go for $500-$1,000 or more. The next game in this series will be one of the most watched games in the history of the NHL.
MOST OF ALL, this Boston-Florida rivalry, which was already simmering, will be RED HOT in the future FOR SURE!! Those of us who already are familiar with the Patriots-Dolphins rivalry will just sit back and smile.
As Yogi Berrra once said, “It’s deja vue all over again!!”
P.S. My customary one glass of Coppola claret will become TWO glasses tonight!!
BOTTOM LINE?? –The Panthers now haVE A LEGITIMATE CHANCE TO WIN THEIR FIRST STANLEY CUP!! – – and Boston Fans know it!!
Wow! The Knicks are like the Dolphins with all these injuries. On the other hand, their QB (Jalen Brunson) leads them to victories, not only when other guys are hurt, but even when he’s hurt as well.
Lol…like a dog and his bone!
You want to know why? We’ll never get anywhere until he wins the games where things are not perfect, the defense isn’t great, we may have a backup or two in the lineup, and he plays so well he lifts the team. I think everyone here knows that too
I know why and there is absolutely truth in what you say at this stage of Tua’s development. Here’s hoping he can elevate his play behind an OL that give him a few tenths of a second more to find the next open receiver…there should be a few of them, imo.
Krishna – Think about it. Our defense may not be as good as it was last season. The injuries at the end killed us, but we had a pretty good defense. The offense was one of the top units, but the O-line is still a huge question mark, but the position players have been elevated. Better receiving TE, better 3rd WR, and running back depth is better too. We know you win in the trenches, so how our O-line and D-line play will have a big impact on our offense and defense. Maybe we take a step ahead on O, and back on D, but the one thing that has to happen to win the division and advance in the playoffs is the QB playing better in those big games.
Agreed. Tua is not the reason for our losses last year, but he did shrink in our most important games. At least, imo. Each year, he’s overcome his biggest obstacle, first hip injury, then concussion issues, now he needs to extend plays by finding 2nd and 3rd, maybe 4th options, WITH better OL protection and more time.
Chop may be a good possibility for what used to be the elephant role. He’s basically a tweener and really athletic.
So, it sounds like we need another “perfect season”. It’s just that the “perfect” pertains to having everything go our way. Lol
A lot of things have to go right to win it all, no doubt. We had a shit ton of things go wrong last season, so many injuries
Like every other team not named KC, blah, blah, blah
Smart Fins fans shouldn’t be unhappy with this QB ranking article, Tua 12th, with contract talks ongoing

Dolphins FO: “These guys have you ranked 12th, so we’re going to offer you this much money.”
Which is ironic, because they then signed Zeke, who they drafted before we could trade up for
@flasportsbuzz
As we noted recently, Dolphins conveyed to Needham a while ago that he would work with safeties (and some with corners). Photo was snapped and circulated yesterday of Nik standing with safeties. So at this point, Nik and Elijah Campbell are the backup safeties.
That’s what we kept hearing, thanks for confirming BBM
IMO this gives us the depth we’ve been lacking at S
Wasn’t feeling good about McMorris
Watching NFL Network replay of KC vs Buff playoff game
Poyer just saves the day with a forced fumble at the 1 OOB for a touchback, to keep Buff in game
steve,
KC hardly had everything break their way last season. They overcame a lot. The difference? A QB who makes a difference when it matters.
Having the best defense in the league didn’t hurt either.
That’s what I was referring to when I said except KC
It’s not just Mahomes, he’s not better QB than Allen, it’s their system starting with Reid, as he’s the one that brings out the dog in their players, especially in big games in the 4th+
Their players mostly aren’t the greatest, but get them to winning time and their dogs shine, that’s what makes an HC great, Belicheat did it too
Josh Hart of the Knicks is one of these types of players, not the most talented, but smart as hell and the heart of a lion
BBM,
Uh, some of us said Needham should’ve been a safety a long time ago.
Great! Seems almost unanimous we believe he can play S at a high level
Kong,
I was going to mention how their defense stepped up and made a big play and we decided to let our best defender go…but I felt I was piling on. But, I get your point. KC still had lots of issues to deal with.
They definitely overcame quite a bit, top problem being their WR group.
It’s insane that KC has Mahomes, who when the chips are down is capable of scrambling around until he makes a play, so he’s damn near unbeatable in the 4th quarter, then they also had a defense that averaged 15.75 ppg in the playoffs last year against the Niners, Bills, Ravens, and Dolphins- with the high score being 24 by the Bills.
steve,
I think folks are a little bit too much in love with Reid right now. Yeah, he’s a really good coach. But, it’s just like Bellicheat and Brady. Reid is winning with the best QB in the league. It’s mostly Mahomes. If Mahomes was gone, Reid wouldn’t be nearly as successful.
steve,
High level? No. But, if you’re going to play a 3 safety look, I can see how you’d use him. And, the reality is you just need more bodies at the position. The first thing you do is try to transition a guy on your team….most likely a CB. Needhams lack of quickness and speed might still be exploited, but it’s mitigated a bit at safety. He can’t cover twitchy slot receivers.
Kong,
It’s actually how the NFL has destroyed the rules. They allow QBs to make plays because nobody can touch them, and defenses are at a huge disadvantage. The NFL wants QBs to look like superheroes because they promote them that way and make billions off it. If you allow a LB to plant a scrambling QB in the dirt like they used to, you don’t see almost any of these “miraculous” plays. It brings in fringe fans who don’t care about real football and just want to take part in hero worship and the rush of scoring and offense. $$$$ It is what it is.
I know what you mean, a good meaty shoulder to midsection body shot “form tackle” as we used to call it is exciting and sets a tone.
The new head-up face to face bear hug style tackle that the league has mandated allows a lot of slipped tackles and a lot of “in the grasp” throws.
but even so, wow there were a lot of injured QBs last year.
And IMHO I’d rather see a last second completion for a first down than a QB crumpled in the dirt with broken ribs or collar bone.
And I’d rather see all the #1 QBs still playing when we meet them in the playoffs than watching a bunch of back-ups or has-beens.
ppl are saying we got 2 UDFA IOL, who can make the 53. Matt Jones and the guy from UTEP.
Maybe that is why we aren’t adding a vet FA IOL so fast.
Wait and see what we got in the UDFA signings. The coaches will know right away if they have the feet to play in the NFL.
I think it is more due to no money right now. Come 6/1, I think we see a signing on the IOL. But, yeah, I like those 2 IOL UDFA’s we got.
I hope Needham makes it at S. He’s one of my favorite players, I like guys who overcome long odds and become solid NFL players. He really stepped up for us before he got injured.
Yeah he and Ahmed I think are two of the last of the guys who rose up out of the massive tear-down of Flores’s first year when we were bringing in PS and UDFA players and guys off their sofas who were starting in a week.
Between McMorris and Perry though, there will be a ton of competition for Needham at Safety.
He has a gun slinger mentality which can be good or bad. He forced a lot of throws which led to his low comp % and not so good TD to INT ratio. Strong arm though.
Hey BBM, did you ever figure out if we got the better Murphy twin?
Stats wise, we didn’t, but the one we got has the skills to become good. IMO, he may be a better prospect than Cameron Goode was.
He got 21.5 sacks for UCLA,
which plays a big time schedule.
And I think you are right about Goode.
Naples – Big hits used to be really exciting, but player safety made that all go away. All the networks used to show compilations of big hits. I think fantasy football has impacted a lot of the rules implemented today. Of course the concussion lawsuits don’t help that any either. lol
I don’t know anything about fantasy football,
but I agree with you in concept.
Like, “eliminating” blind side blocking like the crack-back etc. out in the open field has allowed runners to get more longer runs, and no hitting “defenseless” receivers has allowed more of those scramble drill receptions and pass patterns crossing the middle of the field.
The injuries we see now aren’t from hits. They’re often non contact or something like having a guy fall on your ankle. QBs aren’t going out from big hits because there are none anymore.
And that’s a good thing, IMHO.
Since WR speed is a need apparently, we signed a UDFA WR from FAU.
Go Owls.
Wide Receiver Je’Quan Burton, FAU
Burton is an outside receiver who played his college football locally at Florida Atlantic University. From Orlando, Burton had 33 receptions for 517 yards and four touchdowns in 2023.
National college football writer Bruce Feldman has him on his “Freaks List.” Feldman said of Burton, “The 185-pound wideout bench-presses 345 and power-cleans 345. Even more remarkable: He vertical-jumped 45 inches this offseason and broad-jumped 11-5. He ran a fully automated timed (FAT) 40 in 4.36 seconds.”
naples,
I like football not players. The game still goes on even when a QB goes out, so I’m good. I feel no need to wrap them in bubble wrap! Lol
nfl has us 11th in latest powerrankings.
Why won’t it post his comment?
https://www.nfl.com/news/nfl-power-rankings-post-2024-nfl-draft
Concerning the west coast schedule … When the league put two games out there back to back for us, I do not think staying out there for the two games two years ago went well for us at all.
Maybe McDaniel learned something, but it seems our guys were stale and flat for the second game.
M13, I think Chop was when value meets need. Pass rusher is also a premium position.
I agree and why I mocked him to us.
I’d have him in a passrush role as often as possible, as he’s the guy that’s going to allow others to get sacks, because of his speed and pressure rate
Yep I chose him too. I have no issue with him as a prospect. His upside is huge. He has the ability to be very disruptive in multiple ways.
Antonio Brown was a 6th round pick.

Malik Washington 2024 NFL COMBINE RESULTS
Little WRs need a verticle of close to 40, or something else like 4.3 speed, the reason Tyreek is great is, because he has both
Malik isn’t as fast, but good enough to be effective, add in his toughness and he should be a good candidate for the slot
Like Patrick Paul he’ll mostly be redshirted, because of OBJ, but will need to bite enough to make the team

For 2025’s compensatory picks projection, there are no changes yet. Robert Hunt’s contract has trended closer to the cutoff, but as long as he plays almost all the snaps, as most starting OL do, his departure should still award the Dolphins a 3rd rounder.
I think I saw something a week ago that if Hunt plays 80% of offensive snaps this year we should get a 3rd round comp on him in addition to a 3rd round comp on Wilkins.
@schadjoe
It’ll be 96 degrees at Miami Dolphins rookie camp Friday.
@schadjoe
The Dolphins were 15th in the NFL in team rushing attempts and 20th in team passing attempts last season.
They were 1st in the NFL in yards per rush and 2nd in passing yards per play.
Think about that. 20th in pass attempts. 2nd in passing yards.
The offense will be fine.
We have the ability to be crazy good on offense. 3rd year same HC and system. Players developing in the scheme. 🙂

our offense was #1 in yards and #2 in points and it seems like a lot of people have forgotten that
I think we are going to be near the top again in 2024
Absolutely agreed.
Did a little dive on DC Anthony Weaver: he was born in Abilene, Texas… and the mayor (*sarcasm*) of Abilene is of course Jeff Ireland! 😉
Weaver worked with Calais Campbell for two seasons as his D-Line coach (2021 & 2022) in Baltimore. We may have the inside track on Calais if he and Weaver appreciate one another (can’t see why they wouldn’t).
I’m good with either one of Calais Campbell or Ogbah, or even BOTH.
Let me talk about Connor Williams. He’s only going to be 27, he came to Miami when Coach McDaniel was a rookie HC, he knows how this Offense works 2 years in, he excelled in the McDaniel Offense (#1 Center in the NFL), and even if we bring him back as a Guard, he’s going to be very good… not to mention 100% insurance in the event C Aaron Brewer falters or gets injured.
I’m sorry, but he’s a PRIORITY re-sign if ya ask me, once healthy.
I think the approach they are taking with him is no pressure
Let him get healthy
He may never play again
If he does I suspect he wants to play for Miami
I don’t think so, above all else he wants to get paid, and we already signed a replacement
I’d say he’s using stats to bolster his stance
Aaron Rodgers isn’t in that list of top 14, but Tua is
This picture cracks me up!!! 😆
Chop has Micah Parsons ability and Mohamed Kamara reminds me a bit of James Harrison who went undrafted in 2002. He reminds me of a guy the Steelers or Ravens would draft. He’s a sleeper for sure for me. Won’t be surprised if he makes an immediate impact in camp like Zach Thomas did.
Interesting stat….albeit Ws and Ls shouldn’t be put on QBs….lol.
“Tua is 32-19 in the regular season and 0-1 in the postseason. But he’s 10-11 in Miami games played in December and January.”
…to Mike’s point…lol
…Mike E.’s point

@schadjoe
It’s a starting point, and proves how meaningless stats can be
Wish they would split those stats between first and second half of the season.
