I’d say the majority of Miami Dolphins fans, here on this blog, and everywhere else as well, feel the Dolphins are in win now mode. I decided to make a little comparison as to what we’ve done so far in the 2024 offseason, and what our rivals have done, some playoff teams themselves last season, and others that are poised to make a playoff run. The looming question is, have we done enough to keep up with the best of the AFC, and those lurking to potentially surpass us? Let’s take a little dive into what some other teams have done, and compare that to the current state of the roster here in Miami.
Buffalo Bills
LOSSES
The Bills finally parted ways with oft disgruntled WR Stefon Diggs, acquiring a 2nd RD pick in 2025, but the Bills needed to send two draft picks and Diggs, a 2024 6th RD pick and a 2025 5th RD pick. Diggs was a top receiver in this offense, so the Bills had work to do to replace his production. The Bills also lost a top defender, CB Tre’Davious White in Free Agency to the LA Rams. They lost OLB Leonard Floyd, S Jordan Poyer, ST’s ace S Siran Neal, and DT Jordan Phillips.
GAINS
The Bills managed to re-sign a few of their own defenders such as DE A.J. Epenesa, DE DaQuan Jones, and CB Cam Lewis. On offense, the Bills brought in QB Mitch Trubisky, RT La’el Collins, RB Ty Johnson and our old friend WR Mack Hollins. In the draft, the Bills addressed the loss of Stefon Diggs by drafting FSU WR Keon Coleman, who is a big WR, 6’3 215 who has good run after the catch and the ability to win 50/50 balls. How fast Coleman can fill Diggs shoes remains to be seen. The Bills next pick was Utah S Cole Bishop. Bills added Duke DT DeWayne Carter with their 3rd RD pick. In general, not an overwhelming draft for the Bills. Coleman has question marks as far as absorbing the playbook, but he does have a physical presence and good blocking ability as well as RAC ability, and the way Josh Allen extends plays, as long as he comes back to his QB, he could end up getting a lot of action.
SUMMARY
The Bills appear to have taken a step back, but as I’ve said here many times, as long as Josh Allen is their QB, and he’s healthy, they are a dangerous team.
Kansas City Chiefs
LOSSES
I’m not going to list the KC losses because KC managed to not lose any significant players
GAINS
The Chiefs did a tremendous job retaining many of their core players. It started with the re-signing of DT Chris Jones to a 5YR/$158M contract. The Chiefs also re-signed 3 other DT’s Michael Danna, Derrick Nnadi and long time vet Mike Pennell. For speed, they brought in WR Marquis Brown. Little did the Chiefs know they would be gift wrapped more speed, when the Buffalo Bills allowed them to trade for a mere pick swap at pick #28 in RD 1, as the Chiefs then selected WR Xavier Worthy. Honestly, there’s nothing exceptional in the rest of KC’s draft, so I won’t bore you.
SUMMARY
The Chiefs did a fantastic job retaining their own guys and fortifying their receiving corps with WR Marquis Brown in FA and then WR Xavier Worthy in RD 1 of the draft. They also added veteran TE Irv Smith and re-signed RB Clyde Edwards-Helaire. That’s a top organization showing the rest of the NFL how it’s done. Win two Super Bowls, and still manage to keep your guys, and have money to improve the team.
New York Jets
LOSSES
The Jets lost LB Bryce Huff, SS Jordan Whitehead, TE C.J. Uzomah, RT Mekhi Becton, CB’s Bryce Hall and Justin Hardee, DT Quinton Jefferson and OG Laken Tomlinson
GAINS
The Jets picked up a more viable backup QB signing veteran QB Tyrod Taylor. A big FA signing for the Jets was former LA Charger WR Mike Williams. The Jets aded some legit beef for the D-line signing former SF 49er Javon Kinlaw. They re-signed 3 of their own, DE Solomon Thomas, P Thomas Morestead and S Ashtyn Davis. They also signed former Cowboys LT Tyron Smith and added even more beef for the O-line signing former Ravens OG John Simpson. In the draft, the Jets stole some of our own guys here favorite OL, OT Olu Fashanu from Penn State. In RD 3, the Jets took slot WR Malachi Corley from Wisconsin. They also selected a guy heavily rumored to come here, CB Qwan’tez Stiggers in RD 5.
SUMMARY
The Jets most definitely improved their roster in the offseason. They re-made the left side of their own line, a huge problem last season with 2 strong vets, LT Tyron Smith and LG John Simpson. Nabbing Olu Fashanu is a great player to learn from Tyron Smith and even replace him if Tyron gets injured, which much like our own vet LT Terron Armstead, is a certainty. They prioritized keeping QB Aaron Rodgers healthy, and if healthy, the Jets will obviously be significantly better than they were last year with QB Zach Wilson. Adding WR Mike Williams was a big get and he should help this offense tremendously. If Aaron Rodgers can stay healthy they’re right up there with us and the Bills to contend for the AFC East crown.
Baltimore Ravens
LOSSES
Huge loss for the Ravens was LB Patrick Queen. Another big loss was OG John Simpson. Ravens also lost promising WR Devin Duvernay, a good return man. They lost 2 CB’s in Ronald Darby and Rock Ya-Sin. A somewhat lesser loss was DE Jadeveon Clowney. In addition, the Ravens jettisoned 2 RB’s, J.K. Dobbins and Gus Edwards. They also lost young backup QB Tyler Huntley.
GAINS
The Ravens big move of FA was re-signing their star DE/DT Justin Madubuike to a huge 4 YR/$98M contract. Well, the Chiefs and Ravens both re-signed their star D-linemen, so . . . The Ravens then added bruising RB Derrick Henry to their stable, so definitely a huge net gain there losing Edwards and Dobbins and getting King Henry. The Ravens also re-signed CB Arthur Maulet, QB Josh Johnson, LB Malik Harrison, DE Brent Urban and WR Deonte Hardy. In the draft the Ravens quickly replaced the loss of Ronald Darby and Rock Ya-Sin with Clemson CB Nate Wiggins. The Ravens then bolstered the O-line with OT Roger Rosengarten for depth. They aded Edge rusher from Penn State Adisa Isaac, who played DE.
Summation
The Ravens, always a top organization, definitely improved their team in the offseason, keeping their guy Justin Madubuike, and then adding a huge weapon for Lamar Jackson in RB Derrick Henry. The best are the best for a reason!

Good news for the Miami Dolphins, they have signed WR Odell Beckham Jr., to a 1YR/$3M deal that can rise to $8.25M if incentive clauses are met. Let’s hope he earns the $8.25M
So where do the Dolphins stand in all of this? I think OBJ is a nice insurance plan for if/when either Waddle or Hill can’t go full strength. There was a significant dropoff last season and although I didn’t want OBJ here, that was mostly die to what I figured was going to be some ridiculous salary that was going to frustrate me, but we did it right. An incentive laden contract that’s good for the Dolphins even if those incentives are met. You all know I feel about our D-line, and in general, the flimsy construction of our roster. Let’s stop using the tight window to win as an excuse, we haven’t won squat, and teams like the Kansas City Chiefs and Baltimore Ravens who are perennial contenders managed to keep their roster intact and improve their teams. We managed to get wiped in a Wild Card massacre and then jettison 2 of our best trench players in Christian Wilkins and Robert Hunt. Then I get to hear a chorus of “Those guys weren’t that good, not worth the money” Well, they were the best we had, and we replaced them with players lesser than them, so in no way, shape or form was that a win for the team. C Aaron Brewer better be a top player for us, because we gave him, one of the sole guys who has a multi year contract, money that could have kept either Wilkins or Hunt. To add, 28 players on one year contracts are POOF!, all gone next season.
Our draft was underwhelming on paper. Grier prides himself as drafting BPA, well this year he took the 4th best EDGE rusher in Chop Robinson. Still on the board, OT/C Graham Barton, CB Quinyon Mitchell (#1 CB prospect), OT Tyler Guyton. No way can Grier look anyone in the eye and say he took the BPA. In the scheme of things, that’s not very important, I think he took a huge need, and I’m good with that. I also liked that he doubled down with Mo Kamara. Our 2nd pick was a little tougher to swallow. Patrick Paul better be a quality starter at LT next season for us, otherwise this pick was a miss. Once again, pleased we signed OBJ, who hopefully doesn’t have to be overused, but can help when an injury hits us, and maybe contribute on 3rd downs when we need a more reliable option. I think the Jets have caught up to us, the Patriots could struggle a bit with a new QB, but Drake Maye could be dangerous and if he bites early, who knows? The Bills seem to have gone backwards, as we have IMO, but preseason predictions are just that, preseason predictions. Always hoping for the best!
GO DOLPHINS!!!

and 10
Cheats drafted Drake Maye not Jayden Daniels
Right, brain fart
I don’t see that the jets have caught up to us, the bills however have slid some
The division is again ours for the taking, and I expect nothing less
the jest are loaded on both sides of the ball. If Rodgers doesn’t implode the team, they will be right there for the division.
Chiefs had a great offseason, Ravens not so much
Thank you, Mike E., and I agree good teams/organizations can be and are perennial contenders in today’s NFL. And, they build them from within, not via 1-year contracts.
Ravens will continue to win a ton of regular season games and likely compete for the #1 seed. Still not convinced Jackson can win deep in the playoffs though.
Could be. I’m not convinced Tua can win a big game at the end of the season, let alone a playoff game
till he does it, I’m not either.
it’ll be interesting to see if the league gives the jest another sweetheart schedule this year.
I think the Jets would have been in the division race last season with a healthy Rodgers, but they improved quite a bit on paper this season
They were a force early on just living on the strength of their defense. We were lucky to get them later in the year when their defense had started to break down. It made those games relatively easy. I’m hoping Rodgers just continues being the cancer he is and disfunction brings them down this year.
OBJ only took 40 snaps last year from the slot
Think we’ll see Hill, Waddle and OBJ in the slot at times, a lot more than last year for all 3
Whatever the distribution, I just hope we can spread the ball around more early this year. And no more ‘quest for 2k’. We need Waddle and Hill to not be broken down come December and January.
OBJ being a good blocker might signal the end of River
Good point. I like Cracraft, but he gets by on dedication, hard work, and blocking, not receiving ability.
Berrios, EZ and a Washington round out my 6 wrs making the 53
Kong – it seems the Jets have done their best to protect Rodgers but also have gone away with allowing him to be the GM
He’s also the HC and offensive coordinator, lol.
LOL
Nice write, Mike E!
I agree with your assessments of other teams, especially the stej (yuck). The Houston Texans and Cincy Bengals are the two other teams I’d say to look out for in the playoff picture. Oh yeah, and the Stealers*. Man, the AFC is loaded again!
IF we address the O-Line and D-Line (one guy each) post June 1st, I say we easily return to the playoffs this season… barring the injury bug, which crippled us last season.
Even without the injury bug, a lot depends on how quickly Chubb and/or Phillips are healthy or how well Barrett and Chop/Kamara fill those shoes. That and whether our O-line can be up to snuff, and likewise for our cobbled together D-Line
I agree with the Texans, Steelers and the Bengals, the article was getting a little long already though.
ALL good, man! I wasn’t complaining at all. You do an excellent job here!
I see #DolphinsTwitter is clamoring for us to sign G Dalton Risner… WHY?
He’s not that fleet of foot (5.30 40-time), he’s light in the pants at 312 pounds, he’s a LG, he ended up on IR twice (’22 and ’23) and with the Vikes last season, he started a career low 11 games.
He’s never been a Pro-Bowler, I showed y’all his PFF metrics yesterday (he sucks), so why are these yo-yos clamoring for Risner?
I saw even Omar wants us to sign Risner.
Speaking of Omar, he now writes for the Miami Herald.
Yeah they were talking about that on WQAM
Is that what they call what Omar does
None too shabby for an UDFA. Based on this video alone, I could see him eventually becoming a Center… JMO.
Oh yeah, THANKS for sharing, man!
Looking at available DTs via Spotrac, I couldn’t help but notice that Levi Bell is 2,024.4 years old! DAYUM!!! LOL 😆
Maybe he met Jesus Christ!
https://www.spotrac.com/nfl/free-agents/_/year/2024/status/available/position/dt/sort/contract_value
lol
I see there are some (#DolphinsTwitter) who advocate signing Calais Campbell to a 1-year deal for us Phins. Not sure how I feel about it, being he’ll be 38 years old come game 1 of the regular season, but if he can still bring it, I suppose he’s an option.
I’d sooner re-sign Ogbah on the cheap (though he’ll be more expensive than Calais).
He’s probably better than anyone we have on the roster. Why not?
Yeah, man. I’m with you on that… why not? If he can help us, go get him.
Signing Calais has been out there for several weeks, he played good last year, so I’m in
It all depends on the money because I think his snaps would be limited. Play him in big spots during the game.
Of all the DL we brought in probably only 5 interior make the team and probably 5 Edge. I’d say 5 off the ball LBs as well and 10 DB.
But if Tua has even .5 seconds longer to scan the field (instead of just focusing on his first read), he could be insanely better.
This quick-read hitting makes our O-Line look much better than it actually is, and when teams shut down (double) both Da’ Cheetah and Da’ Penguin, we suffer for it.
I suppose that’s why we signed Aaron Brewer… who can’t even pass-block. The idea will continue that the O-Line only serves as a ‘speed bump’ on passing plays.
This will backfire on us when we play elite Defensive teams. SMH
When Tua was throwing quick, the designed play for the top 2 targets was open and he threw it, so makes sense we’d do well in those games
The problem came later in the season, after injuries hit the OL, when they weren’t open, then he had to look for someone else and the rush was in his face and his statue ass couldn’t move
We may have fixed the need to get the ball out quickly with OBJ and Jonnu
See my 5:56 comment above, my Brother.
We finally get to see what Ryder looks like (face reveal)! I really like this guy’s assessments…
What is pressure? 😜
Steve, I saw you mentioned Mike Kolen earlier.
it was just a few weeks ago I had read that he died. So RIP Cap’n Crunch.
That was why I poster about him
OMG OBJ LFGooooooo
Great fit to our offense ( the player, hope he’s cool here as a guy)
Maybe we’ll be in 2 back sets and Wright will stay back to pick up the pass rusher who gets past Brewer. 🤣
oh ye of little faith
How often will there actually be someone lined up over the OC on a pass play
brewer will be pulling and blocking a safety coming up on the corner while our speed at RB gets out to the edge so fast, it doesn’t matter who comes up the middle
that’s the design Mike
brewer isn’t here bc Brewer is going to pull out and block on the edges on our outside runs
that’s what brewer does well – he can probably get out there faster than most IOL in the nfl
for any dolphins fan with their knickers in a bunch relax and enjoy.
sounds like SRV some 👍
Brewer doesn’t block for Tannehill anymore the sooner folks understand that the more comfortable they’ll start feeling
hes also not blocking for Derrick Henry anymore
and although I love Henry
the style of bruising running game doesn’t fit a mobile litghter OL
our outside game which requires our interior OL to get out on the edges is great for agile OL like Brewer
I think Brrwer on the Titian’s is a classic example of bad fit
and Brewer blocking for Achane is a path to postseason success
THIS.
great point your pigness
Yep!
gotta promote my boys
Has anyone been to St Augustine? They’re playing the Colonial Park right on St George St on 5/26 3-6
First of all, Ryan Tannehill on the Titans isn’t the Ryan Tannehill on our shitty Dolphins team. He had some very good seasons with Tennesee, better than Tua last season even which you guys think was the bestest! If the C can’t pass block he can’t block. Hopefully Butch Barry can fix him but stop putting it all on Tannehill, which is silly
there’s only one Tannehill I know exactly who I’m talking about
One more from the boys, my nephew on bass
enjoy
Sonny – in 2020, Tannehill threw for over 3800 yards, 33 TD’s, 7 INT’s, and 7 more rushing TD’s. Let’s see Tua account for 40 TD’s.
He did it once.
After being in the league for 8 years
There were two games where despite not playing great our offense had a chance to win or tie and our final snap of the game was “errant”, anything could have happened on a clean snap.
This is a good team and getting better. MM going into year three now, very young, young coach young QB young scheme young everything ( except Armstead lol) this is a team capable of way more than 7-8 wins like we suffered with for a long time. It’s fun and I’m excited, I like this team better than last year although I loved Wilkins but it is what it is.
^ we have a lot of good players but sometimes fans spend too much time on depth. The salary cap doesn’t allow it.
I’ll be glad not to have to worry anymore about Williams’ crap snaps in key moments.
I don’t think you go out on day one of FA and sign a Center that sucks at blocking. Possibly quite possibly they did some evaluation of him and recognized the traits in him that would make him a good fit for our team but that’s outlandish let’s live with “he can’t block” and forget who Tannehill is and be sure our FO is fucking up. 3 straight 10+ win seasons in a row not withstanding
I wouldn’t have thought they’d let both Wilkins and Hunt go on the first day either. It was just a bad day all around
Better start getting excited we’re picking Fest dates in a couple weeks
I’d love to get two games in a row again this year that was fun
Why don’t you all just come fest at the GB game this year? Lol
Because we’re not all into giant chunks of cheese. 🤣
That would be cool (if it’s in September or October) I don’t need the full experience seeing Lambo would be enough
I’m just praying the game is before November! Ha!
All bets are off after that bud
ER, they’re going to stack that game with Buffalo as our last two games of the year. I bet!
I am thinking the same thing. I hate the cold!
Yes, I know I’m living in the wrong place. Lol
Garbage can shields lol
they got thrown right on their ass
stupid ignorant little piss pots
Yep
I agree, I think, low risk, high reward…
https://www.espn.com/nfl/story/_/id/40076633/how-odell-beckham-jr-fits-miami-dolphins
Best WR3 we have…you will have to cover him/keep your “eyes” on him.
we can play OBJ outside or inside and that gives us a lot more flexibility with Hill and Waddle
I see all 3 playing the slot every game, until one of them has the best matchup, on 2 wr sets OBJ will be parked on the sidelines to keep him fresh
We are not worthy Butch
https://www.profootballnetwork.com/miami-dolphins-ol-coach-butch-barry-deserves-apology/
I forgot about his Denver exit…and was a little wary, but somtimes you just need a fresh start.
The OL overall was better last year, imo, but needs a lot more. Go Butch!
^
Not the same video M posted last night. This is Ryder’s breakdown on OBJ and what he brings.
MikeE, you want a DT next draft keep an eye on NT/DT Derrick Harmon 6’5 320. He transferred to Oregon from Michigan state. I would use our 2nd on him unless he makes a jump this year and climbs draft boards. Not much of a pass rusher but a run stopping NT.
Kyle Crabbs
@GrindingTheTape
Ravens scheme had 1 DT play more than 55% of the snaps, only 2 DTs play more then 40% of the snaps. If Anthony Weaver brings that scheme in full effect here, I would not be surprised if that’s a lower need on the totem pole than many Dolphins fans have assumed.
Something I mentioned as to why we sucked against good teams, our DL was worn out playing all of those snaps
Exactly
M13, Happy Star Wars Day!
They talk about catch radius for WRs, what about catching passes close to the ground?
Surely the diminutive ones have an advantage, but no one ever uses it as a positive in evals before the draft
Malik doesn’t have Patrick Paul’s wingspan, but he does have Tyreek’s ability to sky for contested catches with a 42.5 vertical, and his ability to bring in the worm burners
Yeah, I really like that pick and the fact he will learn under some great WR’s.
Looking at prospects to watch this college season by position.
QB – looks weak. Unless someone has a breakout year, I don’t see more than 4 going 1st round and one may not be selected in the top 4 picks. Therefore, I don’t see players getting pushed down to us like this year.
WR – Not nearly as good as this year. Maybe four 1st rounders. Have to see who breaks out (Bond at Texas, maybe).
RB – About same as this year.
TE – Meh. Only one to keep an eye on is Loveland from Michigan. Maybe Lachey from Iowa.
OT – About half as good as this year.
OG – Same as OT but day 2 will have some good ones. Solid in the mid rounds also.
OC – Very thin from what I see right now.
DT – Will be nice! I can see 3-4 easy 1st rounders. I can see 7-8 DT’s go by the end of the second round.
Edge – might be better than this year.
LB – About same when considering a lot of the OLB’s as Edge.
CB – Looks very good at the top then a fall off after about #6.
S – Starks from UGA is the best. Solid in 2nd and 3rd rounds like this year.
Ohio State’s LT Josh Simmons is projected (right now) as a late 2nd to mid 3rd. I would take him in a heart beat with our 2nd round pick next year and move him to LG. He is a beast and can move well in the run game. Plays mean.
What he does to this ILB on the first play is almost criminal.
#71
MikeE, this is the DT you actually need to keep an eye on. DT Deone Walker from Kentucky. He’s 6’6 348 pounds and athletic. As a sophomore he had 55 tackles and 7.5 sacks last year playing mostly 3 tech but played some NT also.
#0
Thinking about next year, I guess we can just about draft for BPA with all the needs to replace these 1yr contracts. We have to replace Tyreek as next year will be his last at least as a Dolphin (he also said he was going to retire after 2025). Ramsey and Fuller will both also be in the last years of their contracts. ILB David Long will be a FA after this season.
Our draft needs next year will be DT, CB, Safety, WR, OG, ILB.
If we don’t resign Holland, which could happen (history would suggest so), Safety would be our #1 need.
Again, if we don’t resign Holland, UGA Safety Malaki Starks is my target in the 1st round next year. He’s 6’1 205 and runs 4.35 forty. Started at Safety as a freshman and sophomore for UGA racking up 121 tackles, 5 INT’s and 14 PD’s in his first 2 seasons. He has no weaknesses, IMO.
This is his freshman highlights.
It’s nice getting paid just to look at next years draft prospects. I might get some work done later. lol
Only done 1 bond today so far.
With the addition of OBJ, TE Jannu Smith, RB Wright and WR Malik Washington, media types are now saying Tua is “on the clock” and “no excuses” for not winning the big games.
I have to disagree. Tua will get his contract extension before the season starts. So, he won’t be on the clock for a couple more years.
If they don’t win the big games, it will get blamed on the OL and DL by the same people who think our OL and DL are just fine right now.
For the record I look at the entire team. Tua is a well above average QB. Our failures will not be because of him. The entire team needs to make more big plays in big games.
Thanks Mike, I’ll look out for him!

Thank you kindly, my Brother from another mother! Gas isn’t cheap these days, so I decided to detail my ship Slave-1 instead of bringing bounties in for ya today. Maybe tomorrow… if there’s anything left of ’em to bring in…
Nice!
Grocery bill might be a little high but dating her might be worth it.
Plus, she eats like me so I wouldn’t be embarrassed. lol
Lol…she was awesome!
She is so fit/buff and trim. Where does it all go?
Do these eating challenge people have a special large bowl toilet at home?
Amazing…lol
They only eat 1 meal a day
Spring weather here sucks. We are in our annual spring drought and severe at that. My whole yard is just about crunchy brown grass. Happens every spring.
Want to go offshore this week to catch a reef donkey since the season just opened on Amberjack but seas are forecast to be 3′ to 4′. Doable but not when you are fighting probably the hardest fighting reef fish in the gulf in a hybrid bay boat.
Seems offshore seas are good on the weekend then suck during the week when I am off.
Probably will have to pass this week but season is only open 1 month (May) then don’t reopen in the gulf until August.
BBMike – I agree 100% on Tua getting his extension. Tim could say the whole team has to play better and of course that’s true, but the QB is the most important and impactful position on the field, so unless he elevates his play in big games, it won’t matter. Grier and McDaniel have given Tua everything he could ask for. I know we all feel skeptical as to whether we’re ok on the O-line, but my goodness, we have 2 WR’s any QB would love to have, and now a nice fallback option if either one goes down. Jonnu Smith should really help Tua when Hill and Waddle get a lot of attention from the opposing defense. On the defensive side, I feel we got weaker, but a jolt from Chop, Barrett and Mo Kamara until Chubb and Phillips are able to play is much needed. We’ll see how the revamped D-line fares, I would guess it could actually be better against the run, and hope we get enough pass rush from our outside linebackers. You have to think we’re better at CB with Fuller and Ramsey, and Kohou and Cam Smith there for depth. At safety, if Holland and Poyer stay healthy we’re good back there, but the depth is super thin. I think our run game should be similar, and I have a feeling we’ll be happy we took Wright because I don’t expect Achane to play 17 games, and we really missed him when he was out. If Tua can raise his level if play when it counts, we could be big players in the AFC.
I agree. We could be big players and believe we will be. However, any key injuries on the OL like last year, it will turn out to be ground hog day (season).
like it is for every team with a lot of injuries
What did Mahomes do in the SB against Tampa with no OL, if you don’t know have Omar ask Barrett😜
BBM If I could send you a couple of inches of rain, I’d damn sure do it!
Yeah, saw you guys in Texas getting hammered.
Steve – Correct me if I’m wrong, but Mahomes did make it the Super Bowl, yeah? We can’t even win our division or a game to win the division
What does that have to do with what I said?
Well, you replied to my post about Tua needing to elevate his play in big games, and you responded with Mahomes struggled against Tampa Bay in the SB. My point was he got his team to the SB.
Why does my gut tell me that we’re going to make another ‘splash signing’ once we get our $$$ come June 2nd? It’s time to tamp down on superstar spending, being we can’t pay our current bills or retain home-grown talent.
I think we have enough ‘star power’ throughout our roster. It’s time to get more ‘meat & potato’ players at this stage in the game, both sides of the trenches. JMO
Justin Simmons comes to mind when I say this. Sure, he’d be a great addition… but how are we going to keep this ride going if we continue to throw out massive contracts to a multitude of star power?
Not Simmons just need a depth guy
Absolutely concurred.
THIS is the game that destroyed our 2023 season… along with injuries. Watch the highlights once more, and tell me just how many mistakes we made in this game. It’s unfathomable!
We win this game against the Titans (which we lost by a mere 1 point), and we likely win the AFC East and don’t have to play the Chefs* in -30 degree windchills.
For those who live in Relinda (Son will understand the reference), we’re a team built to win in the HEAT… not a team built to win in sub-zero temps (nobody is, though)…
So maybe we win a playoff game, but we weren’t going to beat Balt or KC with no pass rush and a weak OL, and Hill and Waddle banged up
Otherwise, yeah I agree
Yeah, man… like I said above, along with injuries. We’re definitely on the same page, Brother.
Is there anything in sports more intense than the final 2 minutes of a one score NHL game 7?
Not the current one
Go Panthers!
For the life of me, I CANNOT BELIEVE I’d never heard this song before today… and I’m a fan of Phil! How embarrassing… HOW EMBARRASSING!
I LOVE THIS!!!
They were in Fed waters about 20 miles west of me on one of the wrecks I fish actually outside Alabama state waters.
This is a good one of them catching the reef donkeys. This dude is one of the best guides in his area. If you are vacationing in Orange Beach or Gulf Shores Alabama and want a good guide save his info. He has a nice 25′ Blackjack.

He should be on the field for as many 3rd downs as possible, once he’s comfortable in our O
We weren’t the same team once Mostert or Achane got banged up, this gives us the old NBA free throw 3 to make 2
There’s ways around an OL with issues, hopefully we’ve added enough skill position players to overcome some other ineptitude
i wonder how many games all our tiny WRs are going to miss this year as teams continue to beat the shit our of them every chance they get. Good thing we have 12!
Honestly, that’s an endorsement of signing OBJ, because one or both will probably miss some time at one time or another
and drafting 2 more
we have enough depth, that we can rest one with a nagging injury, hopefully the top 3 are healthy for the playoffs
MikeE,
well, once you go down that road you pretty much gotta go all in. It’s a house of cards…no foundation….they have to keep propping it up.
We didn’t really trade up for RB Wright. We traded our 2025 3rd to get him. He was a projected 3rd round pick who slid a little to mid 4th and made it a good value trade/pick.
I agree, has been my mindset all along
When you make a trade to get someone that’s your guy and he’s a value pick you won
Yeah, same with Kamara and Malik W
I think we lose a couple WR’s after the 53 cut down. Guys like Bralon Sanders may not be willing to sign to PS again and would want to try a different WR needy team. Also, a WR like Tahj could eventually get poached
.maybe but Tahj is a slot WR, not exactly in high demand, because of his size and lack of speed, his tape is good though
Kyle Crabbs is someone I trust with player evaluation, he says Eichenberg is good as a backup G/C, but not as a starter
He says we’ll likely pickup another starting caliber OG before camp
Eich has improved. Be nice if he hasn’t yet reached his ceiling.
He’s got limitations, short arms and unathletic
He should’ve been in the weight room with Jackson
@AdamHBeasley
With the Orange Bowl falling between Week 18 and WCW this year, the Dolphins will likely be on the road to close out the season.
Probably Bills, maybe Jets.
Should start seeing some schedule leaks through the week.
Son, looks like no birthday fest weekend.

@PoupartNFL
What we do know (we think) about the Dolphins’ 2024 schedule is that they’ll be on the road or have their bye in Week 7 because Taylor Swift has Hard Rock Stadium from Oct. 18-20 (and hard to imagine a Thursday night home game with a concert Friday night).
Seeing some say we will get a better version of OBJ this year then the Ravens had last year. Reason being he had to play himself into football shape last year and finally came on second half of the season. This year, he should be GTG start of the season.
Definitely building through FA and not the draft:
@Jason_OTC
The #Packers lead the NFL with 57 players on their offseason roster having no more than two years of experience (doesnt include the 24 UDFA class) in the NFL. Rams are second with 48 and Colts 3rd with 46. Dolphins are last with just 23. NFL average is 37.
Good, I like vets on 1 yr contracts playing for their next contract
MM and Grier must feel the same way, especially with a complicated O
vets playing like dogs vs wet behind the ears guys trying to figure it out
BBMike – I didn’t love trading into the 4th RD using next year’s 3rd. I hope they used a compensatory 3rd, and not our regular 3rd, I think they did use the compensatory pick. I like the player though, and in the end, if he’s good for us, it won’t matter either way.
No, they used our regular 3rd but we will have one or two 3rd round comps in 2025. The 3rd we gave up should be a late 3rd anyway, I hope.
They can’t trade something they don’t have, as of now we don’t have a 3rd rounder

He still has about 33 mil in guaranteed money left on his contract after the 2024 season. Not sure how they could make it work without pushing dead money down the road.
Restructure it and remove the 50m+ that was really just a void year
56, 308,750 is his 2026 cap hit 45m not guaranteed salary, 11m+ dead money or cap we have to count at some point
Watching Jonnu highlights easy to see how he fits, plays fast, can block, can take a screen the distance, blocks then goes out for a short pass
Tua will now have a safety outlet, MM will be up all night thinking of ways to use him
Jonnu was the best signing of the offseason
Yep

LMFAO!!!
😆
I remember that one
Anyone remember Afroman and this song:
Afroman did his own remix of that song:
LOL(!), I saw this yesterday!
😆
Krishna,
This one’s for you! My man Scarface out of Texas (hey!) has a song called “Mary Jane”. And Mike Dean(!!!) is playing the Moog! DAYUM!
Just hit play… I annotated it for ya…
Oh man that’s good
playing again ✌️
The next song is even better, great band they sound good
The guitar player next to the female singer looks like Will Smith lol
Very nice…thank you. Like son, I kept listening to the music. They always seem to have good artists on NPR’s Tiny Little Concert.
Tiny Desk…
From 14 sites way too early mock draft’s, 5 of them have the Dolphins selecting a DT and each of those 5 sites named a different DT as the selection. That is how deep the DT class is going to be next year. Then, 5 sites (ESPN, USA Today, TD Wire, TDN and 247Sports) have us taking TE Coleston Loveland from Michigan. The rest: two others had us taking CB, 1 Edge, and 1 RB.
I am leaning toward DT/CB.
Loveland is good but he’s no Brock Bowers.
Through all of the years of abysmal Dolphins football, I’ve generally been able to key on what position we’ll draft the next season. However, being we’ve made the playoffs in succession, it’s getting more and more difficult to gauge as much.
I’d agree that DT could/should be on the menu for the ’25 Draft.
Many pundits/draft gurus felt we’d target TE in the ’24 draft… and I was one of them. Being Brock Bowers was unattainable for us (barring a MAJOR tradeup), most looked at Ja’Tavion Sanders.
I shot that down quickly, as you’ll recall! Most pundits/draft gurus thought Sanders was going in the 2nd round… and to US. Dude can’t block, he’s not that fast, and he fell predictably to the 4th round.
I wouldn’t have taken him in the 4th round, even if we had a 4th rounder. He’s a slower version of Mike Gesicki, who wasn’t even a system fit for the McDaniel Offense.
That, and Sanders led all of FBS players in sacks yielded by a TE. PASS!
we have Smith and the other kid Name starts with F
we didn’t need the draft
Exactly. Once we added Smith, the rest was history… unless somehow a decent TE fell to us in the 5th round, which never happened.
OBJ and Smith give us other options we didn’t have last year.
It must be good even Mike E likes it

I LOVE it, too! Here’s the OG version of the song you’re referring to, featuring 2Pac.
Note: the guy in the video is NOT 2Pac, being the song was recorded prior to Pac’s death, and the video was released after Pac’s death…
Chop was born on 1/2/3.
Same as your password😜
Defenses play a lot of nickel these days. What do you think is our best nickel group? When at full strength.
I’m guessing it’s going to be Fuller, Ramsey and Kohou, but Cam Smith may jump Kohou with a strong camp and preseason. Holland and Poyer at Safety. Chop and Shaq at OLB, or maybe they have a 4 man front, and then guessing that is tough, because I have no idea what they think of any of these guys, but I think you know what I think of them. lol
It’s possible we pick up a DT/DE like Calais Campbell, he’s probably better at 37 then most guys we have rushing the passer
Breaking Down Beckham’s Contract
Beckham will make $3 million in 2024 with the potential of an additional $5.5 million through incentives.
Jason Sarney SI
Thanks Jason, glad you broke it down, so we now know the details of the incentives
How do these guys get jobs?
Guess, if Omar can get one anyone can
Fortson is that TE who’s been playing behind Kelce …
as would anybody else in the league.
another under the radar signing
of the low risk / high reward type

I had to approve it. Maybe after this one it will work going forward?
