This 2024 NFL Season was supposed to be a Super Bowl run for our Miami Dolphins, at least that was the hype. Here at FMU, we looked at weaknesses on this team, more specifically, the trenches. We were very skeptical of the offensive line, and why shouldn’t we have been? We didn’t upgrade, we lost 2 of our best linemen in OC Connor Williams and RG Robert Hunt. Our starting LG is last year’s backup who wasn’t even on the roster to start to the 2023 season. Our starting OC, Aaron Brewer was jettisoned by the Titans, and although our previous OC Connor Williams had some snapping issues, his pass and run blocking were both excellent. Our starting RG was last year’s backup OC, Liam Eichenberg. RT Austin Jackson is basically a constant. Our starting LT, now fighting off a shoulder injury has been playing for 13 years in the NFL and has never completed a full season. Don’t expect 2024 to be the first. He’s already come out of the game with injuries, and although he’s our best, he’s also fragile. While we’re speaking of fragile, did I mention our starting QB has another concussion?
If you hate to read it, scroll on by, because I’m going to remind all of you how very much I was against the Miami Dolphins handing our QB Tua Tagovailoa a huge contract. Mostly, the reason was his injury history, but a fair percentage of that was his inability to show up in big games. Well, both were on display last week in our first matchup with the Buffalo Bills. Tua did his best to prove me right on both counts, completing 25 passes for 239 yards, 1 TD and 3 INT’s. WR Grant Dubose should have got his head around, WR Robbie Chosen ran the wrong route. Please STOP! We have WR’s Tyreek Hill, Jaylen Waddle, TE Jonnu Smith, RB’s De’Von Achane and Jaylen Wright, the ball didn’t have to go to either of those guys, #1 makes that decision, he throws the ball. I don’t need to tell you that relying on 2 guys who have been here no more than 2 weeks is absurd. So now we’re left with our backup QB Skylar Thompson for a minimum of 4 games as QB Tua Tagovailoa goes on IR.
There’s starting to be a little more scrutiny of Dolphins Head Coach Mike McDaniel. Sure, he’s a likable guy, he’s funny, amusing, and supposedly an offensive genius. The problem is, when teams have figured out what type of defense to play against our offense to shut it down, Mike McDaniel has yet to find the solution to keep scoring like we scored on all the other teams. The tape is out there, teams know to have 2 safeties high and take away the long ball, keep everything in front of them, and as long as it’s executed well enough, they take both WR’s Tyreek Hll and Jaylen Waddle out of their game. I honestly have no idea if Skylar Thompson will be running the same offense Tua Tagovailoa was running, but I don’t think Skylar can have the same timing and anticipation that Tua had. We’ll see how much the offense is more tailored to Skylar, and I guess we’ll get somewhat of an idea if our season is lost or not.
I mentioned the trenches earlier, and now I’m going to touch on the defensive side. The defense was a strength for this team, at least until the injuries started coming and never stopped. The defensive line of Zach Sieler, Raekwon Davis and Christian Wilkins was a strength. Sieler is still there, but now he’s next to NT Benito Jones, and then next to him is DE Calais Campbell. Campbell is still a great player, but at 38, he can’t be expected to play high snap counts anymore, but the rotation was supposed to be the hallmark of the D-line. Tsunamis, waves of players, but that turned out to be false advertising, as we only have 6 DL, Sieler, Jones and Campbell, Emmanuel Ogbah, Brandon Pili and Da’Shawn Hand. That’s no tsunami. Now sometimes we’ll play a 4 man front, and we’ll employ speed packages with OLB’s Jaelan Phillips, Chop Robinson, Quinton Bell and probably Mo Kamara at some point, but in 2 games, I don’t think NFL teams are fearing our defensive line. Buffalo RB James Cook averaged 7 yards per carry (11-78) and managed 3 TD’s, 2 rushing, 1 receiving.
The Seattle Seahawks are 2-0, and they are always a tough get at home. We’ll be facing 2 former Dolphins players on Sunday, OC Connor Williams, and the always under appreciated ILB Jerome Baker (#55). There will be no hype from me about what I expect from this team right now. I have no idea and little expectation of what QB Skylar Thompson can do with this offense. We picked up QB Tyler Huntley from the Baltimore Ravens PS, and even though Sonny loves him, I’m not any more optimistic about Huntley leading us to victories in Tua’s absence. Our mighty WR corps is anything but, once you get past Hill and Waddle. Grant Dubose, Malik Washington (who is banged up) and Braxton Berrios, who has yet to record a reception. I hope our defense with all its tsunamis carries the day, because that offense could be downright ugly!
GO DOLPHINS!!!

I hate 9pm starts (fixed it for you)
Poyer is such a liability
Jaelan Phillips got mauled on that big pass play
Right
Tackled to the ground, no call.
what do you expect on the road?
Tsunami? 🤣
Hand appreciation?
Profound! 🤔
😉 😃
LB Brooks looked smallish on that first play tackle
Yes, thought it was a DB
Skylar time
fucking horsecollar
that’s a horse collar
Yes that was a horse collar
🐴collar
that’s a horse collar
horse collar
it’s unanimous 😆 🤣 😂
and it was out of bounds
what the fuck us going on with these officials
Not surprised
of course their kicker nails a 56 yarder with about 10 yards to spare, and ours hooks it left all the way
MM is a jackoff for kicking that
Harlan says he’s got Hill much better than he says wide left
Of course not SMH
our short yardage package worked well for a game, so there’s that.
you can’t run the same play every time
These 1 yd plays….so bad.
So we give up a 36 yd runback on our KO then miss the long FG (when they made theirs).
I know you can’t put everything on the coaches, players have to make plays, but every year our STs are subpar. Why the eff is Crossman still our coordinator?
Charbonnet pouring through our defense like chardonnay
The horse collar play was a 1st down and they marked it short
MM needs to do his job and stop calling plays, he should’ve challenged that
MM should have been throwing chairs on the field
The no call penalty for horse collar really fucked us on that drive
cost us at least 3
That was a crazy good catch by Metcalf
the defense is going to need to force some turnovers if we are going to have any chance in this game, not look like Swiss cheese
Mike McDaniel has no respect for field position
Go team
Get ready for a long season my friends. A long painful season
Charbonnet was averaging just over 2 yards a carry until this game
I wonder if YouTube will give me a refund
Tell them it was a mistake
I’m actually a little pissed they decided to charge $10.99 per month for the Red Zone channel. Fuck them!
Glad I didn’t clean my house yesterday. I sense some rage cleaning coming up soon.
Skylar Murray needs to getter done
lol I heard that too 😎
twice, until his ear piece started ringing
Looking very uncoordinated on handoffs
I said it last week- hill make a lot of penalties
No offense to Jeff Wilson Jr but can we just give the ball to Achane and Wright?
this is like the Philly game last year
Achane is by far the best thing on this team this year
this officiating with their heads so far up Seattle’s ass actually gave us a call
Seattle keeps that shit up there are going to be some fights
what are we tossing the ball back 5 yards back on 2nd and 1
we havex2 of the fastest WRs in the NFL and we throw behind the LOS more than any other team.
Wtf was that 🤷♂️
This team is such a mess.
Skylar looks like he’s got this
😂
Keystone cops
🍻
wtf is MM doing – cal, the timeout
he’s lost out there
WFT kind of play was that
keystone cops
The bright side is maybe Tua is watching this shit and decides to retire after all
MM doesn’t look like a genius
he needs to be an HC not OC
Skylar playing nervous like he’s not sure of what to do too often
“I’d like to call time out” “ Soory your team just snapped the ball” lol
I really am losing faith in MM. Should have challenged the spot on the horse collar play, calling a play to pitch the ball backwards 5 yards on a 2nd and 1. Still having problems getting play calls in on time in year 3, not calling TO there. wtf
Pushing all the wrong buttons
And my favorite – we’re ok with this oline.
agreed. I lost a lost of confidence in him last year, with our second season in a row struggling to beat good teams.
struggling to imagine how we get back into this now in this stadium/12th man
Just gotta laugh at it all.
the playcalling on 2nd and short is something else
Defense!!!!
Koahu !!!
needed that badly
should have taken the sack
Achane and Wright, LET’S GO!!
wow
And the offense continues to be complete garbage
that’s right (Al Bundy)
again, Hill
makes a lot of penalties
Damn, why couldn’t he score, now have to rely on the O
maybe we can get a FG after starting at the four
WTF Hill
should be snapping the ball in every play so late
should not
It’s the same shit that was happening all year in his 1st season. We were much better last year, not sure why this is a fucking problem again.
And it’s not just being on the road, we had problems in the 1st two weeks too.
the mistakes we are making are sloppy and a sign of bad coaching I’m afraid
Unreal
get to the fucking line faster you idiots
Huntley is inactive right?
yes. Boyle is active.
Boyle is worse
Scott Thompson also has to git er dun
Embarrassing, got to score a TD there
Skylar plays like the situation is too big for him
it’s the Miami way Steve
So deflating to only get a fg there.
Just a FG after that. We are doomed
if it acts like dog shit and smells like dog shit it’s probably dog shit
another issue on STs with an illegal formation. Why is Crossman employed with us?
d getting shredded
again
Sigh….
Only gave up 16 points in the 1st quarter, but they did get the ball 1st, so…
true, true, they did get the ball first
exactly, we’ll get our s in the 2nd half
err, 17
Holland, so you want to get paid???
If it wasn’t for Holland we’d be 0-2 coming into this game tho, so . . .
Great minds …….
🍻
⛄️ not coming to rescue this week then. But for his ff in wk 1 we’d be staring down the barrel of 0-3 now.
it’s amazing how quickly games can get away from us
We just look so ill-prepared
Every week.
Where’s Tyreek?
Got 2 DBs on his back.
Another penalty on special teams.
I’m not even angry about most of this, I fully expected this mess this week.
But I am furious that Crossman is still our ST coordinator.
🔥 Crossman’s ass
Some day maybe that will be rectified
Terrible OL and DL play
So many weapons, Hill, Waddle, Achane, Jonnu Smith, Jaylen Wright and yet we can’t move the ball for shit
they look like a mess
what was goin on with field maintenance?
Skylar looks like deer in headlights, STs with illegal formation one after the other
So poorly coached coming into this season
Skylar sucks throwing on the run
He sucks throwing. There, I fixed it!
We look worse than the Panthers
we look worse than the banthas
it’s time for real Chicken Littles
if we can score 20, it’s going to be 70-20
Fuck, was Fuller sitting to next to Tua on the bench?
I give it 1 more possession, if Seattle scores on this one I’m done
I’m basically there
I would hate to see what our team would look like if they didn’t have 10 days off. WTF did they do all week???
The FO and coaching told them everything is fine remain calm
