Wow, Monday Night Football! What a marquis matchup we have here! The 0-3 Tennessee Titans come in to Miami to Hard Rock Stadium to face off against the last place 1-2 Miami Dolphins! It certainly looks bad, this is not what the NFL wants of course, but maybe it is. Maybe this is the game that catapults a team that looked like they were ruined to a successful season, while the other one falls further into a hole extremely difficult to climb out of. Neither team has played well, but while the expectations for the Tennessee Titans were modest, expected to be a sub .500 club (6-11, 7-10), the Dolphins, depending on what site you visited, were expected to compete for the AFC East crown with the Jets and Bills with 10-7 or 11-6 record. Every week is a must win the NFL, but if the Dolphins are truly to be a playoff contender, this win carries an awful lot of weight. It’s not a division game, but it is a conference game, and the Dolphins are 1-1 against the AFC with a W against the Jags, and a loss against the Bills.
In my last article I told you that things will shift, and I do still believe that. While I also feel we fell short of building the trenches properly, this team has far too much talent at the skill positions to be scoring only 11.0 points per game. Of course, the catalyst, QB Tua Tagovailoa is OUT, and will remain OUT until at least Week 8, but Tyreek Hill, Jaylen Waddle, De’Von Achane, Jonnu Smith, Jaylen Wright and Raheem Mostert (if healthy), should be enough to score more than 11 points, regardless of who is playing QB. So who will be the QB against the Titans for the Dolphins? Skylar Thompson is injured, and by the Gods, he was putrid after having a long week from Friday to the following Sunday, in addition to having 2 years to fully digest this offense. He looked lost out there, confused, hesitant, unsure, inaccurate, indecisive, and just so disappointing. He can no longer be considered the backup or have any future aspirations of being the starting QB of this team. That leaves Tim Boyle, who at the very least looked like an NFL QB that belonged on the field, or Tyler Huntley who has had little time to digest the playbook after being signed from the Baltimore Ravens practice squad on 9/17. Huntley is a better athlete and his legs give him a dual threat, although he’s no Lamar Jackson. No matter who starts on Monday Night Football, they have to threaten the defense down the field.
There are quite a few players listed as questionable for this MNF matchup.
CB Kendall Fuller (concussion)
OT Terron Armstead (concussion)
WR Malik Washington (quad)
RB Raheem Mostert (chest)
CB Siran Neal (?)
FB Alec Ingold (?)
QB Skylar Thompson (ribs)
LB David Long (hamstring)
OT Kendall Lamm played well enough in T-Stead’s place, but it would sure be nice to see the rookie Patrick Paul get some reps so we know that’s one less spot we have to draft for next season. We spent a 4th RD pick on RB Jaylen Wright (5’10 210) from Tennessee, acquired by trading our 2025 3rd RD pick. Is it possible we can make that trade look good by actually using the guy? 7 carries in 3 games, while we wear out 5’9 190 LB RB De’Von Achane with 43 carries for 150 yards (3.5 YPC), along with 17 receptions for 173 yards. 60 touches in 3 games seems like a lot for smallish back who had lots of trouble staying on the field last season, missing 6 games. When he was used sparingly, 103 carries for the season, he averaged over 7.8 YPC. That’s a huge difference. I understand Raheem Mostert is OUT, but isn’t that why you drafted Jaylen Wright in the first place? All over the NFL I see rookie RB’s tearing it up, and YES, I’m aware Achane did just that last season, but we also saw what happened when you use him a lot, he breaks down. Let’s get Jaylen Wright some more work, shall we?
The defense has had its ups and downs. They spotted Seattle 17 first quarter points before buckling down. For the most part, the defense feeds off the offense, and if that’s the case, the defense must be starving, because this offense has sucked since the first snap of the season. Despite moving the ball against Jacksonville, we scored only a TD in the first half, and then in the second half, just a TD and 2 FG’s, one as time expired for the W. Against the Bills, with Tua as the QB, we scored 10 first half points, but also turned the ball over 3 times, (3 INT’s). Against Seattle, it was worse, much worse. We managed only a FG in Seattle, where instead of the 12th man, it seemed like 12 million. We need to score some points against the Titans on MNF, it’s as simple as that. The Titans defense is right around our defense, a couple of notches worse, allowing 26 PPG, while our defense is at 24 PPG.
Head Coach Mike McDaniel has uncharacteristically taken a lot of heat early on in this season. Who could have thought it possible thought after scoring 496 points (29.2 PPG) that fans would be calling for Mike McDaniel’s head after 3 games? I think it’s crazy myself, it’s just too early, and as we all know painfully well Dolphins fans, it ain’t how you start, it’s how you finish! How many seasons have we gone through that? While Rock is still 100% correct that all the games count, if we finish strong and end up 10-7, or 11-6, and we’re playing well, not a soul will care about our 1-2 start. It’s time to set things right, and there is no question there is a lot of pressure on this team to perform better. Not sure if Skylar Thompson will be healthy enough to suit up as the 2nd or 3rd QB, I’d prefer someone lose his uniform. In any case, the way the NFL has been churning through QB’s, we might need 3 on Monday night. I would also tend to think whomever starts will not have a long leash if the offense is stagnant. Whether it’s QB Tyler Huntley or QB Tim Boyle, they’re going to have to earn the right to stay on the field.
Have I brought up the fact that we gave both of our top WR’S really nice extensions before the season started? YEAH! We gave Tyreek Hill a 3YR/$90M extension, and Jaylen Waddle got a 3 YR/$84.75M extension! Hey, did I mention what type of production we’ve received from these 2 players?
Tyreek Hill – 3 games – 7 catches, 130 yards, 1 TD / 1 rush, 12 yards
Jaylen Waddle – 3 games – 13 receptions, 176 yards, 0 TD’s /. 2 rushes, 7 yards
That’s right folks, last season, these were stats for 1 game, and not necessarily a great game either. It’s painful, and yes, it is an indictment on Mike McDaniel at just how ineffective this offense has been. He has to turn it around, no matter who the QB is. We can’t continue to be this poor, and still utter the phrase “offensive genius”. I for one am not carrying a pitchfork ready to storm Miami Gardens FL and try to get our Head Coach fired. I mentioned last week that the Baltimore Ravens are 1-2 as well, and QB Lamar Jackson has played all 3 games. Granted, the Ravens have scored 71 points, more palatable than our 33. The LA Rams are also 1-2, and they were supposed to also be a contender. What I’m saying is it’s still early, we win this game, even win ugly, and then we move on to the next one, but we have to come away with the “W” at home, knowing well that our schedule just gets more difficult when we come back from the BYE, whether Tua is our QB at that juncture or not. My feeling is that he will be, no one should be making this decision other than #1, QB Tua, along with his wife and family. In spite of that, the optics can never be good for this team, especially if he goes down again.
Not to say “I told you so”, but I did. His health will be our problem until he miraculously gets past them or he decides to retire. Due to the money in the contract, unless he gets hurt again, or even whether he doesn’t play another down for us this season, the future cap ramifications will haunt us unless he retires. The public relations nightmare, that we’re throwing him out to the slaughter will also be there as long as he’s on this team. It’s not a pretty picture for us, or him for that matter. I believe, ultimately the blame will be on the Miami Dolphins if Tua plays again and is concussed again. I hope for both his sake and the team’s sake that after that hit, he does the prudent thing for the rest of his life and retires, and enjoys his life with his family. Let’s not forget he’s already earned $73M. That’s a helluva lot more than any of us stiffs who root for him, and I think he might be able to just scrape by if he never plays again, but once again, that’s up to Tua.
GO DOLPHINS!!!

first
Good write MikeE. I agree with all of it.
Thanks Mike!
@schadjoe
Raheem Mostert optimistic about Monday but adds we’ll see
@flasportsbuzz
Mostert, working back from chest injury, says it’s toss up whether he plays Monday
Actually, saw a new video and the house we rent is still standing. Incredible! Their dock and cleaning shack is gone but house still there.
Damn, that’s crazy!
Wow they got hit hard.
It’s a really old fishing community. Many of the homes were not built up to hurricane standards even though they had survived many. Most of the homes you see still standing were built recently and almost look unscathed except for some cosmetic damage.
The house we rent is an exception. Been there a long time but the house is 3 stories up on stilts.
You can see it top/middle left at the 2:50 mark. The 2 houses top left were just finished construction this past spring.
Good write up Mike E! You are still too soft on this team. Lol
Thanks ER – Not really soft, I just think we’re due for a better game
DOOMED!! DOOOOOOOMMEED I SAY!!
Thanks for the new content MikeE! I only found one error. You left out the word “no” somewhere. I’ll let you find it. LOL
Thanks Rock, I looked, I can’t find it. I think it’s common, because I know what I’m trying to say. Where is it?
He can longer be considered the backup
We need to win a game. Start there.
That’s all
Damn BBM, that’s as wasted as Ft Meyers got. What a beautiful area too. I think I saw the place you pointed out man what a great vacation spot. It’s sad.
It really is
Thank you Mike E.! LOL…you crack me up…I like the bad Mike E.!
Am I not entertaining? 🤣
Lol…fucking ay!
I see where the “no” goes.
Also we no longer would storm Davie, all of the teams facilities are in Miami Gardens.
Im with you Mike on all points.
Huntley is the only one who inspires the least bit of confidence. We just need to score especially when we start drives in the red zone.
We need playmakers to make plays on both sides of the ball. Don’t put it all on the QB. This is where we are.
The QB needs to do more than show up and not turn the ball over…low expectations…lol
Agreed- he’s got to make some plays
Everything I’ve read suggests Huntley is starting on Monday night.
I wouldn’t be surprised if both Boyle and Huntley play. Not ideal but we’re not in an ideal situation.
I suppose if Huntley is disastrous then maybe Boyle comes in.
Rock – I found a mistake, not sure if it was what you were talking about. I had written “I prefer some to lose his jersey”. I just changed it to someone
There’s that and one other actually
I’m going all Rock on you lol
Hey Mets fans, gotta root hard for a win tonight against the Brew Crew. Don’t want to leave us in a must win double header in Atlanta
yep! Gotta trot for the D backs to lose too
root
Sonny – where does it go?
before “longer” somewhere in there should be “no longer”
Clueless…lol

Are you talking about psychedelic mapacho from South America? I’d pass.
Go with the kava instead… just don’t drink alcohol before or after drinking the kava.
Mapacho is tobacco, from the Amazon….it’s that simple.
There is nothing psychedelic about it.
It is used in teas and smoked and typically a part of a blend in Ayahuasca brews.
I would never give anyone anything laced with anything without full disclosure.
Please don’t spread ignorance…lol.
Unless you consider nicotine psychedelic…lol
Kava is another plant that is used in teas…it’s ok, but a little grassy for my taste.. lol
Typical…lol
Tyler Huntley has ALWAYS had an incredible O-Line in front of him in Baltimore. And even then… his stats SUCKED.
Hoping he can pull some magic out the hat, but I wouldn’t hold my breath. Not looking good, regardless of who starts on Monday night not named Tua.
M – I noticed you brought up Tua . . .
Does anyone here think Tua will be our QB for the rest of this season and beyond if/when he comes back? Do you think he’ll make it through the season? I’d love it if someone could make a poll for that.
Tua looks like he could’ve played last week, but everyone is so freaked out while playing the CYA game
I think he comes back after 4 weeks off, and mostly right back to business after shaking off the cobwebs, then we’ll hear it wasn’t a bad concussion
Steve – Bad concussion or not, the guy looked like he was knocked out by George Foreman. Every time he gets hit it’s bad. Players get worse than that 10-15 times per game and have no issue. Tua is glass joe
maybe, but I think he’s got something wrong, an imbalance where he thinks he’s this tough guy while playing, and actually he’s a little wimp. Bipolar?
We’re going to find out this week what MM is made of, last week was tough with the Seattle crowd using a not ready for prime time QB
If Huntley doesn’t start we’ll know MM can’t coach
If the shit show from last week continues, can’t coach
If we don’t win, can’t coach
I leaning toward, can’t coach
The reason we don’t see much PT for rookies, can’t coach
Omar says time to get Patrick Paul in, but after last week we can see why young players aren’t playing, can’t coach
I tend to agree. It’s on MM’s failure to game plan and adjust in game against the good teams.
——
@chrisperk
This isn’t about Tua. Most of Fins’ top offensive guys (McD, Tua, Tyreek, Waddle, Raheem) don’t perform well vs. best team on their schedule. Check the numbers. This is systematic
100% – it’s been happening for his two plus years here
Ian Rapoport
@RapSheet
#Dolphins coach Mike McDaniel tells reporters that Tyler “Snoop” Huntley will start at QB vs. the #Titans, while Tim Boyle will be his backup.
MikeE,
I think Tua retires. Oh wait, I meant to say I think Tua should retire.
And, now the rhetoric is MM can’t coach? Give me a break. It’s about players. It’s always about players. This team is soft. Talking doesn’t win football games. This FO and Gase…I mean MM…decided to build this team a certain way. So far, not so good. Maybe they turn it around, but I doubt it.
part of MM’s job is to get them mentally prepared for games. I don’t see how he’s done that. Every single player on the team can’t be soft, but it’s become our MO. Other teams know it (see Poyer). If this is a team mentality then his the HC’s job to fix that.
I think MM plays a part in the team being soft thing. Beyond the scheme and lack of adjustments. He’s their ‘teammate’. When he said that, my thought was this is the problem. Not all of it, but it’s up there. Do they love him? Sure. But I’m not convinced it’s the way a coach needs to be with his team.
Tua will come back and play this season. I don’t see him retiring. Whether or not he should is another question
Packers manhandled the Titans. This game, I know it’s still September, is the season for this team. It doesn’t matter who is at QB. The coaches should have the capability to adjust. Especially all that high price talent they chose to get. If they lose, stick a fork in it because they prob won’t win more than 4 games if that.
I hate using the Packers as an example, but they are doing it with back up QB….one they signed just over a week before he was thrown out there. Here….we had a guy been here for years and looks like they pulled him out of the stands. Coaching does matter. building the team matters. Not spending money on flashy signings.
the Packers as the example shows its the team and not the QB, in our instance it’s the opposite
And….looked like shit with Tua. What’s the point here? My point is this team has not been built or coached at the level needed to compete. Big $$$ superstars all over the field….
I agree with your point, my point is the team isn’t great, it’s been Tua’s ability to execute MMs O that’s brought the success we’ve seen
The problem is there’s no room for adjustment, no plan B, if the first read isn’t there, the 3 step drop gets the QB killed
Bring in Skylar and he’s a little slow to react to the first read, it throws the timing off and makes the O look like shit, then once that happened panic set in and we started seeing false starts and whatever that was on STs
Gotcha!
Yes. LaFleur changed things up in the offense and look what happens. I would think our genius could do something like that….
Brian/Herd,
I hear ya. My assessment of MM has been the same from day one. Too cute. All finesse. All sizzle and no steak. That said, I still believe it’s on the players. It’s up to them to play with an attitude no matter what their coach is like. Also, he’s one of these woke coaches who believe players should be treated differently because players are just different in this day and age. That somehow they should have a say in how they’re coached, and they can’t be coached hard. It’s our society. It’s how we do things these days. I can’t say I ever thought twice about how any of my coaches felt about anything. Frankly, if I had a coach who was perceived as soft, it would probably motivate me even more to make sure my opponents knew that wasn’t me. Professional athletes shouldn’t need to be motivated. Where’s the internal motivation from this locker room? Every player doesn’t have to be soft to have a soft team. But, where are those tough players? Why aren’t they changing this locker room into the tough team they like to talk about being? I’m done hearing it. Show it.
Mostly agree, but MM has done the worst job I’ve ever seen getting the team ready to play
I agree players need to play with an attitude, when I played things weren’t exactly rocket science, but I’d never have blamed the coach for not having me ready to play, if I looked lost it’s on me
Today’s game is much more technical, but the same things apply
This is in regards to players not being ready, the other side of that is the team as a whole not being ready, that’s on MM
Huntley seems confident he can get things rolling
https://www.sportingnews.com/us/nfl/miami-dolphins/news/tyler-huntley-interesting-quote-miami-dolphins-offense/857109f67e971f958ec9718f
IDK but if you have the confidence of Skylar you have no chance
College football is a joke, this rule that allows the D to fake an injury ruins the game (not to mention how much it slows the game down)
In one breath the announcer says how well the WR times the push off on 4th down, in the next he says how great the throw was, SMH
We need a win Monday night. That helps get things back on track.
desperately
Armstead out
Fuller out
Long doubtful
Probably Kendall Lamm and Duke Riley. I’d love it Patrick Paul could go
ditto
Randy,
I don’t disagree with most of what you have to say. I believe MM has more accountability for this than you do, and that’s okay.
Bri – what do you think of the DiVencenzo/Randle for Karl Anthony Towns trade?
I think it is a very good trade for the Knicks overall. It probably makes them a top 3 D in the NBA. I loved Divencenzo, but the reality is his minutes would be greatly reduced with the Bridges trade this summer. I feel like it definitely makes the Knicks better for sure.

M – I noticed you brought up Tua . . .
Does anyone here think Tua will be our QB for the rest of this season and beyond if/when he comes back? Do you think he’ll make it through the season? I’d love it if someone could make a poll for that.
————
I believe that Tua will be our starting QB until he’s forced to retire… which could be 1 more concussion from now, or perhaps 2 or 3. That next concussion could be the next game he plays, or it might be next season. It’s no longer a question of if, it’s when.
It’s time to find his replacement ASAP if you ask me. He’s no longer our long-term solution. And I cannot say this strongly enough: Tua NEVER should have dropped those 15 or so pounds of muscle he put on last season. Now that’s he more nimble again for the sake of scrambling, he’s more susceptable to his brains becoming scrambled eggs.
This whole thing reminds me of Jason Taylor talking about Trent Green when he was our QB nearly two decades ago.
I don’t think the 15 lbs makes a difference. If he gets hit in the head, he gets hit in the head. It doesn’t matter how much he weighs (see T Armstead)
I agree that a hit to the head is a hit to the head… but now he can scramble again due to his lost weight and get hit in the head.
He’s better protected being a pocket-passer and getting rid of the ball quickly. And I wince as I say this, being our O-Line sucks so badly!
Scrambling and putting your head down like you’re Larry Csonka are two different things. He needs to be more nimble in the pocket but once you have the first down give yourself up.
We run a timing offense. If Tua is scrambling, it means something already went wrong. He’s not a very good scrambler anyway no matter how much he weighs. Hoping Tua will just scramble out of trouble and avoid hits is contrary to our offense running smoothly, and it won’t work anyway.
This might be why MM has struggled. He built an offense specifically for Tua and his strengths and shortcomings. Now, he has to come up with a game plan for very different QBs. You don’t plug Huntley into Tua’s offense and expect him to run it smoothly. You need to design and call a different game for Huntley. Will he? Can he? Huntley can make this OL better by being mobile and extending plays. Playing a little more sandlot football actually favors small quick WRs too.
If Tua is scrambling, it means something already went wrong.
Obviously, but you say it as if it shouldn’t happen and it’s horrible
Every QB goes thru this multiple times per game
Scrambling, all he has to do is pick up the easy 1st downs, it’s what makes Mahomes, Allen, and Jackson great, if Tua isn’t doing it we have very little chance of running thru that guantlet
Colorado looking good here at UCF.
I want Travis Hunter as a Fin!
21-7 10:52 left 2nd qtr
late start it was raining like a bitch here since 1:30
Travis Hunter will probably be a top 5 pick. Top 10 minimum.
They need an answer to the 2 high safeties, the plays are there but the QB play has been poor so far. Huntley gives us a spark so we’ll see what happens.
Touchdown UCF 💥💪😁
UNLV 3-0 and leading Fresno State 28-0
I told my brother the real winner with the Raiders coming to town would be UNLV, because they can now recruit, playing in an NFL dome stadium
steve,
I don’t get to watch as many games as some folks, but I think I can count the times I’ve seen Tua scramble for a first down on one hand. No, when you’re trying to get the ball out in 2 seconds, you don’t want your QB scrambling. He’s not able to do it anyway. He’s not even close to the athlete those guys you named are. If we’re relying on Tua doing that, we’re losing. His job is to get the ball in the hands of our supposed playmakers.
Tua not taking the easy run for a 1st down is why we can’t beat the good teams
When it’s winning time, the officials allow the DBs to hold, you can’t run your fast break O
The great teams have their OLs also clamp down (hold), then the QB gets out of the pocket and either hits an open receiver or runs
It was the difference in every SB win for the Chiefs, bills and Ravens do it, Purdy and Garo Polo don’t and why they lost 2 SBs to the
If Tua can’t play that game in winning time we have no chance
IU overcame 4 turnovers and still beat Maryland 42-28. Back on top of the Big 10 at 5-0 and 2-0 in conference.
They have a potent offense and I really like their QB Rourke as a possible QB pick for us.
did you see Warren’s TD?
Yeah, I switched over to the PSU game. WTF Georgia?
steamrolled
Brian, I switched over too late
that was the versatility out of the backfield I was talking about
the officiating in college football has been nothing short of atrocious this season. It’s worse than I’ve ever seen.
it always has been horrible, especially in conference play, where the ranked team gets the calls, so they can get a higher seed and more money for the conference in a bowl game
and the commentators reply with, that was an obvious…as if they’re in on it
if it’s true, that the networks ask for favors, so they can get the matchups they want in bowl games and playoffs, then the commentator comment above would make sense
I had to switch from the Georgia/Alabama game because it remined me too much of our game vs Buffalo. lol
we have to draft Tyler Warren
^^^^^
I still want to trade Jannu Smith and double down at TE. Tyler Warren 2nd round and Mason Taylor in the 5th.
Bama absolutely choking
It is pretty cool. Don’t let us down Tyler!
@schadjoe
“Child’s dream,” Dolphins QB Snoop Huntley said. “Being able to play for your home team, man, that’s just something everybody doesn’t get to come across.”
don’t be like Skylar, process what you see quickly
Skylar behind center is like MM at a press conference, uh dut dah…
Lol…
Russian military is ruthless. They execute any soldier on site in front of the other troops if they refuse to fight (be part of their meat waves). Also, they are blowing up their own soldiers with drones or artillery if they surrender.
One of the reasons why their military sucks so much
yep, and corruption, lack of training, etc.
It shows
It’s crazy how many different uses of drones the Ukrainians have come up with. It’s the main part of their defense.
They have revolutionized drone warfare. They were just invited to a NATO training exercise involving drone warfare so as to teach NATO
Carson Beck showed both his good and bad last night. I think he hurt his draft stock last night. Never a fan of him as I think his ceiling is not much higher and what you see is what you get.
Milroe is making a case for himself. He hasn’t reached his ceiling as a passer. He has better touch than people give him credit for. Though I question his accuracy on crossing routes.
I have PTSD involving any QB named Beck
LOL! I think it is buyer beware with this one also.
I want Ewers. He reminds me of Tua. Lots of accuracy, touch and decisiveness. He can run a MM offense
Fragile…has an injury history…
Perfect, Grier pick…lol
Like Tua…lol
Not a history of significant injury.
It doesn’t look like he missed a game in 2023
I don’t believe he’s completed a season without missing games…pretty sure…you can check me
This is really his second season as the undisputed starter. I don’t recall any significant injury last year but I didn’t check. Also the injury he has now is nothing of any long term significance
Talk about PTSD and fragile QBs…lol
As far as first and second round QB’s who I think are buyer beware, off the top of my head, are Carson Beck and Shedeur Sanders.
I think Quinn Ewers, Jaxson Dart and Cam Ward are all solid 1st round choices. Not sure where I put Garrett Nussmier yet, maybe top of 2nd round but a solid prospect.
Day 2, I would go with Nussmier, Jalen Milroe, Miller Moss, Kurtis Rourke and Drew Allar as all solid prospects.
Dillon Gabriel has everything you would want in a QB prospect except size. Too bad.
QB’s who I don’t think get enough love and are solid prospects: Memphis-Seth Henigan, Missouri-Brady Cook, Ohio State-Will Howard, Utah-Cameron Rising, Georgia Tech- Haynes King and SMU-Preston Stone.
This could be a good QB draft class if guys like Jalen Milroe, Drew Allar and Miller Moss declare.
I would not touch Sanders
100%
I think Nussmieir would be a good fit with our offense
There are about a half dozen I think would fit for us really well.
Ewers missed 2 games last year, I believe due to an ankle injury. Nothing major.
I hope Rourke stays under the radar. He’s a big kid with a good arm. His brother, Nathan, has bounced around a few NFL TC’s but is the QB for BC in the CFL right now.
I’m glad that it seems just about everyone here is in agreement that we have to draft a QB and move on from Tua. It’s a little late, but better late than never! Not sure what happens with his contract and if he refuses to retire.
Imo…he should retire.
We have to hope he does the right thing, but that’s a convoluted thing now, because if he does retire, he leaves a lot of money on the table. We’ll see how this all plays out but I’d be shocked if he finishes this season playing as our QB on the field, and not on the bench, or in a hospital.
100%
Don’t get me wrong, I like Quinn Ewers. He’s developed nicely under Sarkisian. Facts.
Just PTSD…lol
Agree with those above about Sanders.
Ken, I guess Beck came back to haunt us one more time since Tua trained with him in the offseason.
Maybe Beck taught him to lower his head when engaging the defender, especially if you already passed the first down marker. 🥸
Now I need to go to my safe place
I am not necessarily saying we have to move on from Tua but we have to be ready to in case of anything. Skylar Thompson was not the answer. We need an insurance policy
I remember all those draft guru’s saying the Dolphins should select TE Ja’Tavion Sanders in the draft even after signing Jannu Smith. He slid all the way to the 4th round. How’s that working for the Panthers so far? 3 rec on 4 tragets for 12 yards with 0 first downs or TD’s.
Ken,
Isn’t your safe place inside a nuclear reactor?
Chernobyl
I have watched Ewers a lot and see nothing in his game where PTSD comes into question. He’s a gamer. He is very savvy in the pocket especially with his play action and ball fakes much like Tua.
Injury wise…ptsd
He could step without a significant learning curve. I think we could keep this team intact without having to rebuild and switch QBs if we need to
Like I stated, he’s developed very nicely under Sarkisian…watched him for 3 years
Ruthless…lol
Bucs look great today playing at home in September 🤔
I knew as soon as I posted that the Eagles were going to wake up
Sone really mediocre football in the 1 pm games

100% agreed, but the insurance policy HAS to be a future starter… as in possibly QB in the 1st round of the 2025 NFL Draft. Getting a solid backup to Tua will not be the answer long-term.
Agreed
Yessir!
Anyone watching Minny vs GB? I have the sound down and missed it. On the muffed punt, why wasn’t it a GB TD? Why did they get the ball at the 3?
At the half…
Bo Nix: 7/15 for -7 yards passing!!! WTF?!!
He’s actually averaging -1 yards per pass!!!
That HAS to be some kind of record for QBs with at least 15 attempts passing.
Rogers numbers were not much better until the last drive
Ha! That’s what I like to hear about A-Rod!
Let’s hope the Broncos can pull it out.
Cav Kong,
I didn’t see the play between the Pack and Vikes. I’m watching the Stealers* at Colts. Colts are up 17-3! This is GOOD. Anthony Richardson is out for the rest of the game, Joe Flacco is in.
It’s weird. GB guy picked up the ball around the 3 and ran it in. Looked like a pretty basic TD. Next time I looked up, they had the ball at the 3. The ESPN play by play just says recovered at the 3. I can’t figure it out, and the game is on local TV, so I can’t rewind and look.
That is weird. Dunno, man.
I don’t think you can advance the ball on a muffed punt
Ok, I just found the highlight on the NFL website.
They said on a muffed punt you can’t advance it. WTF?
Ball was sitting on the ground, no minny guy in sight, GB guy picks it up and walks it in, and it doesn’t count because you can’t advance a muffed punt?!
When the heck did that rule change. That’s like some stupid effing college rule.
It’s been that way for a while
Dumb rule. The explanation is the receiving team has never gained possession. So they can recover it and advance it, but the kicking team can only recover, not advance.
Well, I’m looking it up and it goes back to at least 2013. How the heck do I not know this rule
Too many fermented bananas
I swear by the time ‘m 55 I won’t even remember my name half the time. I used to have an amazing memory. Getting older sucks. Doing copious amounts of drugs for decades probably hasn’t helped either…
So I am right about the bananas
lol, I guess so
Nix now in positive yards

If it makes ya feel any better, I had absolutely NO IDEA about that rule either.
It must be so rare to see this element of it since usually with a muff the recovery is probably down by contact at the time of recovery most of the time.
The rule doesn’t even make sense if ya ask me. Why?
It makes zero sense. I just looked it up to see if the same rule applies to kickoffs; it does. You can’t advance a muffed kickoff for the same reason- that the receiving team has not actually secured possession.
Jax just went on top of Texas
YAY!
Exact same thing happened in the Jags/Texans game. Houston muffed the punt. Jags scooped it up at the 2 and ran it in. Next thing I know, it’s 1st and goal for the Jags. They got the TD but I was confused by that also. Thought it would be a scopp and score TD.
Can’t ever recall this rule being applied, and now twice in the same Sunday an hour apart.
Fucking living in the matrix, lol.
I just read an article from 2013 saying this rule needs to change; it called the rule archaic, so it must have always been the rule.
Packers need to put their backup back in the game
QB
Jags about to score again
Broncos just took a 1 point lead
🍻
Denver just went up on the Jest
Unbelievable! Jags have 1st and goal at the 4 and turn it over on downs.
Likely a momentum changer
After a time out, Jags on 4th and 2 at the goal decide to run a QB draw from shotgun.
Colts up 24-10 against the Stealers*. Joe Flacco is killing it!
Bengals up 31-21 against the Red Rifle and the Panthers. 4th quarter just beginning.
GO PANTHERS!!!
The Bengals are a very dangerous team. Putting them at 0-4 would be delightful.

Seems like something we would do.
TOO right! LOL
Thought that as I wrote it. lol
Justin Fields with his 2nd running TD. He’s putting the Stealers* on his back.
GB right back in it
We were foolish to not re-sign S DeShon Elliott. Man, he’s ALL OVER the field making plays.
That’s ok, we got lost a step, always injured Poyer. He should be going on IR sometime in the next couple of weeks.
Right? LOL
Imagine if we had kept DeShon Elliott and AVG. Our Defense would be so much better than currently.
^^^
We had the money
Jags with a surprising stop. Can they run out the clock?
Guess not
Only took 1 min off the clock and Texans didn’t have to use any timeouts
Justin Fields with the TD pass to former PSUer Pat Friermouth (sp?).
Russell Wilson who???
Stealers* 24- 27 Colts. Just under 4 minutes left in the game.
Texans in FG range already, now I see how our poor team was able to come back and beat them.
