Wow, Monday Night Football! What a marquis matchup we have here! The 0-3 Tennessee Titans come in to Miami to Hard Rock Stadium to face off against the last place 1-2 Miami Dolphins! It certainly looks bad, this is not what the NFL wants of course, but maybe it is. Maybe this is the game that catapults a team that looked like they were ruined to a successful season, while the other one falls further into a hole extremely difficult to climb out of. Neither team has played well, but while the expectations for the Tennessee Titans were modest, expected to be a sub .500 club (6-11, 7-10), the Dolphins, depending on what site you visited, were expected to compete for the AFC East crown with the Jets and Bills with 10-7 or 11-6 record. Every week is a must win the NFL, but if the Dolphins are truly to be a playoff contender, this win carries an awful lot of weight. It’s not a division game, but it is a conference game, and the Dolphins are 1-1 against the AFC with a W against the Jags, and a loss against the Bills.
In my last article I told you that things will shift, and I do still believe that. While I also feel we fell short of building the trenches properly, this team has far too much talent at the skill positions to be scoring only 11.0 points per game. Of course, the catalyst, QB Tua Tagovailoa is OUT, and will remain OUT until at least Week 8, but Tyreek Hill, Jaylen Waddle, De’Von Achane, Jonnu Smith, Jaylen Wright and Raheem Mostert (if healthy), should be enough to score more than 11 points, regardless of who is playing QB. So who will be the QB against the Titans for the Dolphins? Skylar Thompson is injured, and by the Gods, he was putrid after having a long week from Friday to the following Sunday, in addition to having 2 years to fully digest this offense. He looked lost out there, confused, hesitant, unsure, inaccurate, indecisive, and just so disappointing. He can no longer be considered the backup or have any future aspirations of being the starting QB of this team. That leaves Tim Boyle, who at the very least looked like an NFL QB that belonged on the field, or Tyler Huntley who has had little time to digest the playbook after being signed from the Baltimore Ravens practice squad on 9/17. Huntley is a better athlete and his legs give him a dual threat, although he’s no Lamar Jackson. No matter who starts on Monday Night Football, they have to threaten the defense down the field.
There are quite a few players listed as questionable for this MNF matchup.
CB Kendall Fuller (concussion)
OT Terron Armstead (concussion)
WR Malik Washington (quad)
RB Raheem Mostert (chest)
CB Siran Neal (?)
FB Alec Ingold (?)
QB Skylar Thompson (ribs)
LB David Long (hamstring)
OT Kendall Lamm played well enough in T-Stead’s place, but it would sure be nice to see the rookie Patrick Paul get some reps so we know that’s one less spot we have to draft for next season. We spent a 4th RD pick on RB Jaylen Wright (5’10 210) from Tennessee, acquired by trading our 2025 3rd RD pick. Is it possible we can make that trade look good by actually using the guy? 7 carries in 3 games, while we wear out 5’9 190 LB RB De’Von Achane with 43 carries for 150 yards (3.5 YPC), along with 17 receptions for 173 yards. 60 touches in 3 games seems like a lot for smallish back who had lots of trouble staying on the field last season, missing 6 games. When he was used sparingly, 103 carries for the season, he averaged over 7.8 YPC. That’s a huge difference. I understand Raheem Mostert is OUT, but isn’t that why you drafted Jaylen Wright in the first place? All over the NFL I see rookie RB’s tearing it up, and YES, I’m aware Achane did just that last season, but we also saw what happened when you use him a lot, he breaks down. Let’s get Jaylen Wright some more work, shall we?
The defense has had its ups and downs. They spotted Seattle 17 first quarter points before buckling down. For the most part, the defense feeds off the offense, and if that’s the case, the defense must be starving, because this offense has sucked since the first snap of the season. Despite moving the ball against Jacksonville, we scored only a TD in the first half, and then in the second half, just a TD and 2 FG’s, one as time expired for the W. Against the Bills, with Tua as the QB, we scored 10 first half points, but also turned the ball over 3 times, (3 INT’s). Against Seattle, it was worse, much worse. We managed only a FG in Seattle, where instead of the 12th man, it seemed like 12 million. We need to score some points against the Titans on MNF, it’s as simple as that. The Titans defense is right around our defense, a couple of notches worse, allowing 26 PPG, while our defense is at 24 PPG.
Head Coach Mike McDaniel has uncharacteristically taken a lot of heat early on in this season. Who could have thought it possible thought after scoring 496 points (29.2 PPG) that fans would be calling for Mike McDaniel’s head after 3 games? I think it’s crazy myself, it’s just too early, and as we all know painfully well Dolphins fans, it ain’t how you start, it’s how you finish! How many seasons have we gone through that? While Rock is still 100% correct that all the games count, if we finish strong and end up 10-7, or 11-6, and we’re playing well, not a soul will care about our 1-2 start. It’s time to set things right, and there is no question there is a lot of pressure on this team to perform better. Not sure if Skylar Thompson will be healthy enough to suit up as the 2nd or 3rd QB, I’d prefer someone lose his uniform. In any case, the way the NFL has been churning through QB’s, we might need 3 on Monday night. I would also tend to think whomever starts will not have a long leash if the offense is stagnant. Whether it’s QB Tyler Huntley or QB Tim Boyle, they’re going to have to earn the right to stay on the field.
Have I brought up the fact that we gave both of our top WR’S really nice extensions before the season started? YEAH! We gave Tyreek Hill a 3YR/$90M extension, and Jaylen Waddle got a 3 YR/$84.75M extension! Hey, did I mention what type of production we’ve received from these 2 players?
Tyreek Hill – 3 games – 7 catches, 130 yards, 1 TD / 1 rush, 12 yards
Jaylen Waddle – 3 games – 13 receptions, 176 yards, 0 TD’s /. 2 rushes, 7 yards
That’s right folks, last season, these were stats for 1 game, and not necessarily a great game either. It’s painful, and yes, it is an indictment on Mike McDaniel at just how ineffective this offense has been. He has to turn it around, no matter who the QB is. We can’t continue to be this poor, and still utter the phrase “offensive genius”. I for one am not carrying a pitchfork ready to storm Miami Gardens FL and try to get our Head Coach fired. I mentioned last week that the Baltimore Ravens are 1-2 as well, and QB Lamar Jackson has played all 3 games. Granted, the Ravens have scored 71 points, more palatable than our 33. The LA Rams are also 1-2, and they were supposed to also be a contender. What I’m saying is it’s still early, we win this game, even win ugly, and then we move on to the next one, but we have to come away with the “W” at home, knowing well that our schedule just gets more difficult when we come back from the BYE, whether Tua is our QB at that juncture or not. My feeling is that he will be, no one should be making this decision other than #1, QB Tua, along with his wife and family. In spite of that, the optics can never be good for this team, especially if he goes down again.
Not to say “I told you so”, but I did. His health will be our problem until he miraculously gets past them or he decides to retire. Due to the money in the contract, unless he gets hurt again, or even whether he doesn’t play another down for us this season, the future cap ramifications will haunt us unless he retires. The public relations nightmare, that we’re throwing him out to the slaughter will also be there as long as he’s on this team. It’s not a pretty picture for us, or him for that matter. I believe, ultimately the blame will be on the Miami Dolphins if Tua plays again and is concussed again. I hope for both his sake and the team’s sake that after that hit, he does the prudent thing for the rest of his life and retires, and enjoys his life with his family. Let’s not forget he’s already earned $73M. That’s a helluva lot more than any of us stiffs who root for him, and I think he might be able to just scrape by if he never plays again, but once again, that’s up to Tua.
GO DOLPHINS!!!

There was this movie called “The Bad News Bears”……..
laughing stock
PERFECT
I expect nothing, guess that’s why I’m still watching, not disappointed
wasn’t Hill voted #1 player in NFL? (pre arrest)
I swear they assigned the worst officials to our game
They are matching the team
Exactly what I thought.
Wait for it… the BOOS will be reigning down as we go into the locker room at the half.
Great punt
Be honest, have we done ANYTHING well in this game? It’s embarrassing
Soft D
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
77 total yards of Offense from our fucklings at the half!!! WOW!!!
And our HC is still trying to look like Tony Montana!!! WOW!!!
Isn’t it the OC’s job to figure out a game plan when you are starting a brand new QB who plays completely different than your groomed QB? “The value of Tua” isn’t the point. Huntley shouldn’t be asked to run Tua’s offense.
He hasn’t been. We have only thrown 10 times. We are trying to run the ball but we just can’t
AND the media is chiming in on just how important Tua is to our Offense…
NO FUCKIN’ SHIT, SHERLOCKS!!! 😆
YOU are clueless..lol
I said earlier in the week that Huntley wasn’t worth anything and he can’t throw well past 20 yards. I said we should have started Boyle.
Wouldn’t have mattered
Elephant Rider,
Man! I think I’m just about where you’re at right now, buddy! WOOOOOOOO!!!
If we lose this evening, we may as well just lose out… tank for the best QB we can get in the ’25 Draft.
Come on over M! We got room for ya!
HELL YEAH!!!
And I may have to change my avi back to Darth Maul!!!

hahahahahahahaha! This fucking offense sucks so bad . I hope we lose every fucking game for the rest of the season so we can draft a QB.
^
BOOM, my Brother Brian!!!
RIP Pete
Steven Ross makes BIG $$$ for this shitshow product he puts on the field?!!
NOT FROM ME & Mrs. OD. We dropped our season tickets 4 years ago!!
I don’t know why many thought Huntley was going to make a difference over Thompson or Boyle.
MM needs to make that switch at halftime.
Mobility would give a different dimension to the offense. I still think it can but don’t expect a high flying offense. If it works it will ground and pound
he gave us hope. Now that is gone too.
Ken,
Why isn’t he calling more RPO and running plays for Huntley?
That is a good question I think they are trying to find other ways to get the ball into Hill Waddle and Achane rather than focusing on putting it into Huntley’s hands
Yes… RIP to Dikembe Mutombo and Pete Rose. Sad day in the world of sports. MAJOR respect for/to them both. 😦
For fucks sake
Good to know plan B is to keep chopping wood. That’ll do it
Drop by Waddle…shameful
WTF….so disgusted this gane…lol
Better kick
Ken,
I think having Huntley at least show some RPO and designed bootlegs or stuff like that could be used to loosen it up a bit for the skill guys. Gotta make this defense step back a bit.
I agree
agreed Randy. Make them guess a LITTLE
Here’s the bright side: the game started an hour earlier so we don’t have to stay up as late watching them lose!
And all the running plays make the click whizz down. 2.30 am here. Wondering how much more of this I can take?
Brian,
At least our beloved PSU is now #7 in the nation. That gives me some grief management regarding the current state of our Phins.
it’s a team fucking losing effort…On Coaches to make it better…
Who’s this guy wearing Berrios jersey
😂 I was just about to type that
So that is what a punt return looks like
Grwat field position…let MM fuck up the play calling…lol
Great..lol
Now for something positive . . .
How bout those Mets????
what a crazy game
HELL YEAH to the Mets!!!
was anyone else just desperate for Berrios to score there because the feel like the offense is going to stall and go three and out ?
Yep
Let’s not get carried away …. I still expect Berrios to signal fair catch before the ball is punted
blowing great full position on dumb plays
THIS WAS WORSE THAN EMBARRASSING!! Miami got something like 33 yards passing in the entire first half against a team that has yet to win a game this season!!–IF the Dolphins lose this game at home there will be hell-to-pay, particularly at the box office. There will be even MORE empty seats during the second half of this abysmal season.
IF I WERE TUA, I’d demand a trade to another team. Playing quarterback for Miami behind the worst O-Line in the NFL can lead to a premature end to ANY QB’s career!! – – And forget about any highly rated Free Agent even considering playing for Miami next season!
Bungling Steve Ross has presided over the complete destruction of the Miami Dolphins franchise. It’s a complete disgrace!!!!!
Achane hobbling. Perfect
I don’t know what Mike McDaniel is doing
Does he know?
10 negative runs for Achane this evening. Our O-LINE BLOWS!
nailed it
No way
I love these dumb ass announcers. First, they say we need to just start chucking it downfield to hill and waddle. Now, they say you just can’t go for the Homerun on every play.
Holy shit
There we doubled our scoring from last week 😁
Everyone’s butt cheeks pucker whenever Sanders kicks ?? 😎
Don’t need to work the glutes in the gym tomorrow
YUP! It’s true! LOL
WOW! Jason Sanders DRILLED that one from 56 yards out!
Leaving Huntley in there. We are doomed.
Huntley is not fast. I don’t know why y’all think he gives us some kind of special element there. He doesn’t and he can’t throw.
Not a burner but very elusive
Seiler with one of those worthless pressures.
BBM,
Huntley can run. He’s no Lamar, but he can use his legs effectively.
agreed .
That could be the game
I honestly don’t think we can come back from 10 points down
MF13–Check my response to you up the page where you talked about the
Shit show Ross puts on. I think you might get a kick out of it!!
Soft D. I keep saying that. They are soft especially against the run and especially in the red zone
The O is soft as fuck too. Coach is soft as fuck
The OL in particular is soft/weak or whatever you call it
Chop Robinson got tossed aside like a rag doll on that big run. He was all hype. Not worth the 1st round pick
I just heard Sieler, but that TD was the sealer right there. We can’t score a TD, so that should do it! At least we’ll be able to draft a good QB
GAME OVER
Please insert another coin
MM just doesn’t believe in changing his offense for his QB
No adjustments whatsoever
it’s crazy
Looks like Phillips will be missing time.
non contact injury- not good
Ken – when the offense had like 40 yards in the 3rd quarter, how fresh do you expect the D to be?
The offense blows too. I didn’t say otherwise
No, but saying the D is soft is unfair. They’re on the field all game. Check the T.O.P
Huntley is elusive but that is not going to help when they got so many in the box and he can’t throw past 20 yards without it being a rainbow.
Even if our ‘big play’ O comes up with some I’ve seen enough now to know that we can’t live with at least the Chiefs, Ravens and Bills even if we are st full strength. Which we will never be. This season is another epic fail in a catalogue of swoons and let downs. Sadly I see no way out of this sinking sand we have built our house on 😕. Nogtih all.
Anybody have any good suggestions of something to watch on Netflix or Prime? Maybe something with murder in it. That’s the vibe I’m feeling…
Peaky Blinders
Meh
phenomenal show
I tried watching it. Saw a couple of episodes but just couldn’t get into it.
There’s that elusiveness y’all were talking about. lol
What a joke this team is
Bradley Chubb telling Calais Campbell “Man, I ain’t never coming back this year, never!”
Hill was open. Snoop missed him.
Twice he missed him for 6
Not surprised. He doesn’t have any timing or chemistry with the team.
We should have went with one of the other QB’s
Herd, I am turning to the other Monday night game to watch some real football.
My blow it up mock draft isn’t looking so bad is it…
OUT FOR THE NIGHT.
And, yes, MF-13. Ross DOES put on a shit show!!
Can we trade an HC for picks?
we’d only get a seventh rounder
Ross? 😂
13 point lead is virtually insurmountable without a defensive TD for this offense
Brian,
Love Peaky Blinders.
such a great show
maybe we can just turn this blog into Netflix reviews and recommendations this season
A political blog. lol
😂
Our QB play is abysmal. It’s like a baseball team with no pitching. Stop looking at anything but that. Geez!!!
I think you overestimate our team. Plenty of other areas of the team have been abysmal too
Have we made a play on offense to make it a game? It’s one sided and that doesn’t work.
Remember Huntley was on the Ravens PS.
Yeah just replace our QB no problem. Ugh!
The OL is abysmal Tim
How do other teams do it? Other teams don’t crawl into the fetal position when their backup ir 3rd string QB comes in. We’re not just talking struggling, we can’t do a fucking thing
Not totally true. Most teams don’t succeed with the backup QB. Look at how Minnesota struggled last year after they lost Cousins. Yes the Niners are something of an exception
Yeah they do you just don’t follow them.
you either go with Huntley and run a game plan that fits him, or you stick with your other back up who’s been here and run the same offense. We went another direction.
^^
4th and 1 scared him so much he threw the flag. Not gonna work.
In a shocking turn of events MM loses a challenge and we can’t make a fourth and 1
😂😂
McDaniel needs to relinquish play calling duties
can’t do anything right
this is one of the most poorly coached Dolphins teams I’ve ever seen. There is no excuse for this with the talent we have in this team.
we are going to get blown out by a winless team
as is, we are the worst team in the NFL 😟
Can’t wait for more excuses. Get comfy, gonna be a long season.
Just checked in on the score online. Glad I turned the game off.
How the heck are the Titans scoring with a backup QB?! I thought if your backup comes in the entire team was supposed to fall apart 😢
because they have a rookie head coach who is out out coaching MM
McDaniel is losing this team
Everyone is talking about future QBs but excusing awful QB play. Okey dokey! 😂
the whole team is awful Tim. Our OL is abysmal, the defense isn’t making big plays, the play calling is atrocious. It’s planning for the future. Tua has probably this season left and maybe next before he retires . We will need a QB
Usually if the QB play is awful you do look for other options in the future not sure your point
I’m telling ya, Wright is gonna be a good NFL RB.
Tim,
Well, we have had poor QB play since the first snap of the season. Tua sucked too.
playcalling is just miserable
and we keep having penalties
A lot of really high snaps.
So that is what a TD looks like
We should have brought in Tannehill
My friends and family are going to roast me. This is just embarrassing.
that’s what an intentional grounding in the end zone looks like
who the fuck can comprehend all of these new kicking rules
wrf
The NFL is messing with the game too much. Stop already. I don’t even know what just happened.
