2024 Season – Game 7 – Cardinals @ Dolphins

It’s the Fest Game folks, so I’m putting aside all the negativity that’s usually laid on pretty thick, and well deserved I might add, for this one magical week. It’s our annual get together, and one I so very much look forward to. I think this is year 13, which to me is amazing. I’m thankful that this group has stuck together all this time, and can’t wait to see everyone again. What’s nice is this particular game has the potential to have some magical moments of its own, with the return of QB Tua Tagovailoa. We know he struggled before getting injured, and this offense never really got in stride with him at the helm this season, but this week is an opportunity to really have a strong game. The O-line is relatively healthy, we should have all 3 RB’s (Mostert, Achane and Wright) in good shape, and you just know that both WR’s Tyreek Hill and Jaylen Waddle are itching to have an offensive breakout. This game against an Arizona Cardinals team that just lost their best pass rusher, OLB Dennis Gardeck who is on IR, is a team we should be able to handle. Their defense has been generous, allowing 25.4 PPG, and they’re one of the worst run defenses in the NFL. This is one of those games where we can methodically run the ball, and then open some big plays in the passing game.

Tua coming back is such a boost to the team, you have to think that Waddle and Hill are just salivating knowing they finally have someone who can deliver them the football. If I told you before the season that after 6 games, Tyreek Hill would have 294 yards receiving, and played in all six games, you’d say I was crazy. On that same token, if I told you that Jaylen Waddle would only have 269 yards receiving, and that combined, these 2 great WR’s have only ONE receiving TD, again, you’d think me mad. That’s how bad this offense has been. Right now though, the RB’s are feasting, and I’m not the only one that feels this way, but rookie Jaylen Wright should be the workhorse back. He looks great, agile, slippery, quick, powerful, and has good vision and anticipation. This is not the time to worry about guys contracts, like Raheem Mostert, and you really don’t want RB De’Von Achane getting too many touches if you want him to be around for the entire season. Let’s start giving Wright more carries, Mostert can be the #2 guy, and then find Achane for some big plays here and there, maybe even in a 2 back set on 3rd and 5 or less.

Besides Tua coming back, we potentially get a boost in the secondary as well, as CB Cam Smith is set to make his season debut coming off of IR. The fact that CB’s Kader Kohou and Storm Duck are both hurting, Kohou with a neck injury and Duck with an ankle injury, Smith may get a good amount of playing time. CB’s Jalen Ramsey and Kendall Fuller are the starters, and special Teams ace Siran Neal will also get some snaps at CB as well. CB Ethan Bonner will also potentially get some snaps, but I think the Dolphins want to see what they have in Cam Smith. Kohou has not been ruled out, either has Duck, but a fully healthy Cam Smith may finally have his time to shine.

Last week, TE Jonnu Smith, who I, and many others here felt could really have a big season here in Miami finally had his breakout game. Jonnu had 7 catches for 96 yards and a TD, and just think how precious and few receiving TD’s have been for these Dolphins. Just imagine, that was the first Dolphins TE touchdown reception in 23 games. Unbelievable! I know there will be the temptation to throw to Hill and Waddle who have been languishing in the absence of Tua Tagovailoa, but Jonnu Smith should not be ignored. Of course I want to see Waddle and Hill be Waddle and Hill for a change, but it doesn’t have to be at the expense of TE Jonnu Smith. Keep feeding him the ball, and use him in the red zone, where the smaller Hill and Waddle don’t have the physical presence Jonnu has. If you saw his TD reception, he weaved and ran through a bunch of defenders to get his TD, it was very impressive. We need more of that!

Once again, I can’t wait to see all of you, this will be the latest arrival for my family and I, I had to work, but I will be ready to party once we get there. Some day, we can get a few of our regulars down in FLA, Tim, Randy and M13. I know they would have a blast! Tim did experience a NE Fest at the Meadowlands, and I know he thoroughly enjoyed it, but we need to get him to experience the real Fest of Fests, a Florida Fest. Now none of us have ever met M13, it would be special to get that done at a Fest. We do get the wonderful Doggy family back this week, I look very much forward to seeing them again. We also get the almighty one, Jahn as well, and some of the usual attendees, Stanger and Hulk, Sonny and his family, Toba and Dar, Herd (now a regular), Krishna, Twice, Steve, Robert and others, too excited to remember everyone, don’t hate me! See y’all soon!

FUCK!!! Long ass drive and we didn’t hold up.

  2. CavalierKong's avatar CavalierKong says:

If Smith hadn’t slowed down, he would have been able to jump up with two hands.

  3. CavalierKong's avatar CavalierKong says:

    Nice catch there though

  4. CavalierKong's avatar CavalierKong says:

    Challenge that shit

  5. New Age's avatar New Age says:

Mostert has been shit all season long. YTF did we need a 32 yr old RB with Achane and Wright?

    • CavalierKong's avatar CavalierKong says:

Achane would have gotten the corner on that play, Mostert has been alright, but he has so clearly lost a step.

Once again, Wright getting no carries even though he produces every time he touches it. 2 rushes for 18 yds

  6. CavalierKong's avatar CavalierKong says:

    leaving it to the D

    sigh

  7. CavalierKong's avatar CavalierKong says:

And they go at Long again and again

  8. CavalierKong's avatar CavalierKong says:

1st and 20, this is it, need to get it now

  9. CavalierKong's avatar CavalierKong says:

They are going to run this down and kick a game winner.

  10. Brian in NY's avatar Brian in NY says:

Marvin Harrison’s coming out game- just like Devante Adams in his rookie year at the fest game

  11. CavalierKong's avatar CavalierKong says:

Defense coming up as small as you can when we need them most. Offense came up small when it mattered most in the 4th quarter.

Scored more points, but the same old team that can’t get it done when it matters.

  12. mf13ss's avatar mf13ss says:

First time this season we’ve given up 300 passing yards. We came into this game #1 vs the pass.

  13. CavalierKong's avatar CavalierKong says:

Knew they were going to run it and still gave up 5

  14. Brian in NY's avatar Brian in NY says:

that should be game. Sucks for the Festers

  15. CavalierKong's avatar CavalierKong says:

Anyone think we were actually going to stop them on 3rd? I didn’t.

    Mentally soft.

  16. CavalierKong's avatar CavalierKong says:

    2-5

I hope MM gets fired. He’s really not a good coach

  18. mf13ss's avatar mf13ss says:

    SMMFH 😡

  19. Brian in NY's avatar Brian in NY says:

the D gave up scores in the last three drives

  20. New Age's avatar New Age says:

This team just doesn’t know how to win and doesn’t have the player/ team leadership to ever get there. We make at least a dozen mistakes every game. We are one of the most undisciplined teams in the NFL and the record reflects that. Letting the Cards come back and win is just brutal. Looks just like last week’s game except the offense played better.

  21. Brian in NY's avatar Brian in NY says:

I really don’t know why I waste my Sundays on this piece of shit team

  22. CavalierKong's avatar CavalierKong says:

This legit may it for me. I can’t do it anymore. Nearly 25 years of futility with no end in sight. I just can’t keep investing my energy into this team.

    • Brian in NY's avatar Brian in NY says:

      see above

    • New Age's avatar New Age says:

I quit watching most games and quarters this year and didn’t watch most of the 4th of this game because I already knew what would probably happen. This team has terrible leadership, and Ross can’t find leadership talent if it smacks him in the face. I haven’t watched an entire game once this year and it feels amazing. I’ll probably only watch this team when it’s expected we’ll win, and I probably won’t start the game but watch after halftime. It’s just not worth my time anymore. This product is literally shit. I can do better, and I have been doing better. If they get rid of McD and Grier, I’ll come back to see what the next group of trash does.

  23. Brian in NY's avatar Brian in NY says:

    At least the Jets lost

  24. ElephantRider's avatar ElephantRider says:

    RIP

  25. mf13ss's avatar mf13ss says:

Once again, our deep ball was taken away: Cover-2. Has the NFL figured out Coach McD and his Offense?

  26. Brian in NY's avatar Brian in NY says:

I would trade some players before the deadline. Get some draft capital

and get out of those high priced contracts . It’s really the only play at this point.

  27. New Age's avatar New Age says:

If you think about it, the average NFL player has played the game for 15-25 years of their life. It is the prime job they’ve held and their money maker. For these guys to make so many mistakes at a job they are supposed to be elite, is unacceptable and almost unbelievable, but we continue to see it happen. There is no way this team should be so unprofessional. So bad at their job. So undisciplined. It is not only a reflection of the coaching, but of the player’s professionalism. These guys don’t care and suck at this game. I’m not giving them my time from this point moving forward except in the rarest of circumstances. Get rid of Grier and McD, and I’ll see if the next group is worth my time.

  28. Brian in NY's avatar Brian in NY says:

The one thing that would make me feel better would be Warren’s smoked whitefish dip

  29. mf13ss's avatar mf13ss says:

I’ve gotta run… too pissed off right now. I’m going to go wash my car and clean up its interior.

    This team fucks me off.

  30. ElephantRider's avatar ElephantRider says:

Sorry Festers! Was hoping they’d get their feel good win for you this week before losing to Buf next week. Bummer.

Cant wait for the look how good they were with Tua apologists….Just face the reality that this team sucks. From GM to coach to players. Idk how you fix it other than starting all over….again.

  32. bookman11's avatar bookman11 says:

I kind of wish we could go back to the days of waiting for the newspaper reports on the game instead of the immediate reaction. It really has robbed the innocence of the game day experience from me. To be clear, I am not condemning the current culture, just making a nostalgic observation.

  33. New Age's avatar New Age says:

    Brian,

Raiders are bad, NE is bad and Tia does well against them. Jets are collapsing and at some point Rodger’s won’t care anymore so we’ll take one of those. We would beat the Browns with rapist but not Winston so 50/50 there. All will be close games but maybe the raiders. I think we blow them out and am planning to watch that game for sure. They will probably disappoint me like always but that’s the next game I’m watching. I’m not watching the Bills and Rams blow us out.

    • Brian in NY's avatar Brian in NY says:

agreed, although The Pats beat the Jets today. I seriously doubt I’m watching the Bills game. I’ll likely do something hung with my kids instead. I don’t feel confident saying “we’ll win” any game the rest of the season, unless we start playing better.

  34. New Age's avatar New Age says:

I just mentioned 3 games I think we win. That’s it. We will probably end up 5-12 and worse than Flores first year with 3rd stringers. If that isn’t an indictment on McD and his handpicked blue chips, I don’t know what is. Won’t win with McD coaching this team.

    • Brian in NY's avatar Brian in NY says:

yeah, I’m about done with McDaniel. His agent really pulled a fast one in Ross, giving him another two years. I don’t think MM will be around for three more years .

After today’s games, we moved up to pick #9, however, if the Giants lose at Steelers Monday night, we will slide to #10.

Tankathon’s new mock has us taking a replacement for Mostert.

#9 RB Ashton Jeanty, Boise State

#43 DT TJ Sanders, South Carolina

#98 QB Jaxson Dart, Ole Miss

    #99 OG Jaeden Roberts, Alabama

  40. bailbondmike's avatar bailbondmike says:

Brian, from Bleacher Report. Add now, free agency and draft. They seem to up to speed with our needs unlike others:

    Add now: CB Duke Shelley

Free agency: IOL/OG Arron Banks from 49er’s

    Draft: TE Tyler Warren

    https://bleacherreport.com/articles/10140391-nfl-team-needs-prioritizing-every-rosters-biggest-weaknesses-before-week-9

Though, they should have listed DL depth also. And funny how #1 and #2 weakness was both IOL and not a type-o.

  41. bailbondmike's avatar bailbondmike says:

Achane has scored more fantasy points in just receiving alone than Jaylen Waddle through 7 games this season. MM needs to get the pass game figured out.

  42. The Flying Pig's avatar The Flying Pig says:

hope you guys had fun at the fest yesterday

sorry we couldn’t get the win

I’m personally a little exhausted with this team – not really going to pour it on but I’m probably not going to be watching as much in 2024

  43. Ken's avatar Ken says:

  44. Tim Knight's avatar Tim Knight says:

Obviously we’re all bummed about the season, but remember the team is more disappointed than we are.

  45. stangerx's avatar stangerx says:

You want a plus from yesterday? Tua was back and looked solid. With him behind center we at least have a chance to win against any team other than the maybe an elite few. But even with them who knows if all the playmakers start clicking with Tua thrown balls.

While Tua was out our offense was a shit-show.

  46. Brian in NY's avatar Brian in NY says:

it sucks, but we’ll almost certainly be 2-6 after this week. Even if we finish the season on a 6-3 run, which would be incredible based on past years, that would leave us at 8-9.

I have arrived back at my house. Long day. Fun weekend except for the outcome of the game.

  48. Randy's avatar Randy says:

I heard the offense had a chance to put the game away but failed to get a first down. What happened? Sounds familiar.

    • mf13ss's avatar mf13ss says:

While that’s probably true, the Defense also had the chance to put the game away and couldn’t plug a single hole on the leaking dike. Both sides of the ball are to blame in this team game.

Didn’t help that Sieler was out and Holland left the game early, either.

    ————–

And I can’t stand OBJ the person to begin with. His stats are now even worse (if that’s possible) than the person.

  50. mf13ss's avatar mf13ss says:

(Constant) reminder: we’re missing a 1st rounder from the ’23 Draft and a 3rd rounder from the ’24 Draft due to this clown-ass owner we have.

Some may say that’s a good thing, being Chris Grier would’ve fucked up those picks anyway.

  51. mf13ss's avatar mf13ss says:

One of our beat-writers stated today (forget who it was, saw it earlier while at work) that Bradley Chubb is nowhere even close to returning. ALL of that $$$ and he cost us a 1st rounder.

We could have had Roquan Smith for a 2nd rounder and (I believe) lesser $$$.

I BANGED THE FUCKING TABLE to trade for Roquan Smith, a week before we traded for Bradley Chubb. SMMFH 😡

  52. mf13ss's avatar mf13ss says:

Yes, ladies and gentlemen, I’m pretty irate that we’re sitting at 2-5 right now. The bottom has fallen out and we’re going to be 2-6 after next week. May as well lose out at this point and get the highest pick possible to draft our QB of the future.

Tua is an incredible QB, and unquestionably so. I’ll be a fan of his for LIFE! Unfortunately, his next concussion could be the last play he ever has in the NFL (Not For Long).

  53. mf13ss's avatar mf13ss says:

I can’t believe that after back-to-back playoff appearances under Coach McD, we’re regressing HARD CORE. We’ve all seen this movie before (make the playoffs and then regress) and all too many times over the last 16 seasons (Sparano, Gase, Flores, and now likely McDaniel).

  54. mf13ss's avatar mf13ss says:

    Rockphin and Stanger,

You two may be the only ones who appreciate this, but I am NOT a merry man right now as it pertains to our Phins!

  55. Randy's avatar Randy says:

    M13,

I question whether or not Tua is incredible, so I guess it’s not unquestionable. When all the money is spent on the offensive side of the ball, yeah, I expect more of them. I expect all those high priced skill players to win games when it’s on their plate.

    • mf13ss's avatar mf13ss says:

Randy, remember: Tua led the NFL in passer rating in ’22 (105.5), then in ’23, he led the NFL in passing yardage (4,624). Nobody has done that kind of stuff in Miami since Dan the Man.

Yes, he’s incredible. I’d like to see his passing TDs come up, but that’s all good being we can run (see Mostert last season) in the redzone.

My fear is that he may be damaged goods… hence his lack of proficiency this season. Now watching the tape of him yesterday? He looked SOLID! However, the production just isn’t there for whatever reason this season.

Hey, as much as I can and will defend Tua, even I know it’s time to draft a QB early next Draft.

  56. ElephantRider's avatar ElephantRider says:

Listening to Packers coach talking about the play that gave them the win. Ad lib on the sideline play during the game and they went out there with a BACKUP QB and executed a play the team had never practiced and won the game. Must be nice…..

Our coach sucks. Our team sucks. Again!

  57. New Age's avatar New Age says:

The offense lost the game with the safety. It completely changed the game dynamics.

If you apply the same standards as we’ve applied to the anemic offense, the QB of the D would probably be Ramsey and his two high priced WRs would be Chubb and Phillips. So, an old QB without his WRs isn’t going to win games for you. Dexter Lawrence for the Giants has as many sacks as our entire team (9). Calais Campbell at 38, Sieler, and Ogbah are tied (with others) for 79th in the NFL with 2 sacks. That’s just not going to win games. Add in just 3 ints and 2 FR and we aren’t winning the TO battle either.

This team spent a fortune on the offense, and we just have 9 TDs for the year. We’ve had 4 fumbles lost and 4 ints during that time as well. In a game that focuses on offense during the season, that’s a pathetic data sheet.

  58. Ken's avatar Ken says:

I am never going to anymore live sporting events

  59. Randy's avatar Randy says:

    New Age,

I just watched a video of the safety. Wow. How many points did we lose by, again?

  60. markeyh's avatar markeyh says:

As frustrating as this season has been, I do not want to blow things up like many unreasonable fans are calling for.

    • Rockphin's avatar Rockphin says:

who are you calling unreasonable? I think I have been very reasonable. Now it is time for change. The last blow up wasn’t done properly. They kept the #1 problem with this team. Chris Grief. They don’t just need to blow it up. They need to blow it up and salt the earth after. Every member of the scouting department needs to be gone. I can’t believe that we have changed GM’s as many times as we have and we still have scouts from 20 years ago!

This is a very reasonable statement IMO. BLOW IT THE FUCK UP AND THEN SCORCH AND SALT THE EARTH!

      • Rockphin's avatar Rockphin says:

Too bad they already let that incompetent bozo throw away MORE THAN 100 MILLION in dead cap against the future!!!!

MORE THAN 100 MILLION!!! DEAD CAP!

No, no let’s keep him and allow this to continue…

      • markeyh's avatar markeyh says:

The roster we have is the best roster we’ve had in we’ll over 20 years it’s loaded with talent unfortunately injuries has set this team back so for those of you like yourself who I call unreasonable looking for change after this team has went back to back to the playoffs for the first time in 20 years

Anybody calling to blow this up is unreasonable in my opinion just like you were entitled to yours

      • bailbondmike's avatar bailbondmike says:

I am between the both of you. I want to blow it up. But don’t want to blow it up if Grier is in charge. What he has done to the future cap is sickening.

  61. stangerx's avatar stangerx says:

Opening line has the Phins +6.5 points in Buffalo. Gonna root like hell for the Doplhins, but I’d give the 6.5 in a second. That pretty much means it would be a push at Hardrock.

  62. Rockphin's avatar Rockphin says:

Oh and Grief should be fired for this alone

    • stangerx's avatar stangerx says:

I’m glad he’s doing well. Always liked him. He’s getting $10 mil a year though. Couldn’t keep him, Phillips and Chubb and pour all that money into WR/QB.

  63. stangerx's avatar stangerx says:

Having watched the safety a bunch of times…… the ball hit Tua right in the hands. I’m thinking either the snap came too early or it came at the right time and Tua wasn’t expecting it.

  64. Rockphin's avatar Rockphin says:

What I find hilarious is the hype this off-seaon. The AFCE is going to be brutal….

Well they were right This IS brutal:

    Buf – 6-2

    Mia- 2-5

    NYJ – 2-6

    NE – 2-6

  65. markeyh's avatar markeyh says:

Too many lies about our GM he’s done a very good job. Is he perfect no but neither is any GM in the NFL.

I understand how frustrating some of us may be, but I don’t mean that this is not what it is, which is a playoff contending team when healthy !

    • markeyh's avatar markeyh says:

I would think after 20 years of mediocrity and searching for a quarterback the GM Chris Greer has solved that issue now this team need to just get healthy and get on track. We have a two-year window.

I have not given up on this year, even though it does seem to be a very difficult road ahead.

Let’s wait and see how the season end.

      • Rockphin's avatar Rockphin says:

and if you think Tua has “solved the QB issue” You sir are delusional.

      • markeyh's avatar markeyh says:

I understand his concussion issues, but if you don’t see what this team look like after we lost him for four weeks this year and you, sir, are the one who’s delusional.

He’s the best quarterback we’ve had since Dan Marino and you can’t even deny that!

I realize Miami need to protect themselves for future issues with him, but at the same time he is a perfect fit for The Offense that we run

    • Rockphin's avatar Rockphin says:

Not one lie spoken about Chris Grier on here.

  66. stangerx's avatar stangerx says:

In other news — Gisele Bündchen has anounced she is with child. The father is her son’s jiujitsu trainer. Not saying anything happened then, but yeah she met him before the divorce.

  67. Randy's avatar Randy says:

    stanger,

Everybody on the team moved when the ball was snapped. It was on Tua.

  68. bailbondmike's avatar bailbondmike says:

I don’t have confidence in Grier picking our draft picks either. I didn’t care for the Chop pick. It’s just his rookie year but he is living up to all of his draft weaknesses. A weak/poor tackler who can’t quite get to the QB. Why we spent a 1st on a project when we had major holes is beyond me. Yeah, Phillips and Chubb were ?? coming in but they could and should have resigned AVG.

Our first pick hands down should have been C/OG Graham Barton.

Just because people say something is so don’t mean it is true Chris Greer has done a very good job of drafting and putting this roster together like I said before the best roster we’ve had in 20 years

Anyone denying that it’s just lying to themselves and most likely haters because they want this guy fired despite the fact that he’s done a good job

    • markeyh's avatar markeyh says:

Also don’t forgrt Miami lost a first round pick becaue of tampering I am sure Grier was not happy t lose that pick!

  70. markeyh's avatar markeyh says:

The issues facing the Dolphins has nothing to do with our GM or head coach in everything to do with injuries beyond anyone’s control

  71. markeyh's avatar markeyh says:

Instead, they’ll bring up a player that they missed on like it was some big issue. Every GMS on draft picks some more than others, but Chris Greer has done a good job putting his roster together over the last four years.

This goes out even further, but Sportrac only shows until 2028 That incompetent bastard has money spent NEXT DECADE already!!!

EVERY PENNY of that list is dead cap money.

  73. bailbondmike's avatar bailbondmike says:

Markey, we had the ability to resign AVG. They could have given him a contract similar to one they gave LB Brooks or done what the Vikings did. AVG’s contract is structured so his cap hit is only 3.4 million this year. Grier could have done that easily.

Brooks got a nice contract from Grier and his cap hit is only 2.8 mil this year.

It could have been done easily.

    • markeyh's avatar markeyh says:

I understand everyone’s frustration with AVG I am from Wisconsin and a huge fan myself

I wish him well and happy he is having his success he’s having but even if he was on his team right now missing some of our players on defense I don’t think he would’ve made that big of a difference

      • markeyh's avatar markeyh says:

I think that call probably was more about Anthony Weaver than anybody because if he wanted Agee, he would be here

      • markeyh's avatar markeyh says:

      • markeyh's avatar markeyh says:

Chris Grier gives these guys what they want so if Anthony Weaver said he wanted AVG he would’ve had him

      • markeyh's avatar markeyh says:

I have no problem with the cap situation. We find ourselves in because he utilize that money to bring in quality veteran players that have paid off.

Tyreek Hill Bradley Chubb Jalen Ramsey just to name a few I’d rather have them on his team than not

      • markeyh's avatar markeyh says:

In our last game, we didn’t have Zack Seiler Bradley Chubb Jalen Phillips Jevon Holland on the defensive side of the ball and people question why the defense that’s playing well for what he has struggled late in the game

      • markeyh's avatar markeyh says:

The one good thing that came out of all this drama with the concussion is that our offense is more balanced than ever before they are running and passable very efficiently it’s going to pay off. We don’t need to blow anything up. We need to continue to add to what we have.

      • markeyh's avatar markeyh says:

  75. Randy's avatar Randy says:

I think judging what a GM does is just kind of impossible. None of us know how much power they really have to make the final choice. Almost every team says it’s a collaborative effort. Fans have no idea what that really means to each team. We don’t know what sorts of…if any…parameters an owner or coach puts on the GM. We don’t know a lot of things that matter.

If you are the sort of fan who just puts all moves on the GM, I’m also okay with that. That’s the job. Somebody has to ultimately be in charge. I think about Grier the same thing I think of most GMs. They’re meh. Grier has been meh. He’s made good and bad moves. I wouldn’t give him a great grade because the team isn’t having much success, but I’d say the same about everybody connected with the team.

    • stangerx's avatar stangerx says:

Greir has something going on. Think about how he has risen up the ranks in the long time he has been here. No one is left from when he started…. yet here is. Can at least guarantee you that Ross likes him, even if might be cause he is Ross’ “look in” guy in the upper management.

  76. bailbondmike's avatar bailbondmike says:

Markey, I will say other GM’s have done worse when it comes to the draft.

Though, Grier has put this team in a financial bind where we can’t afford to keep anyone we develop into an above average player.

Just like we won’t be able to keep Holland.

    • markeyh's avatar markeyh says:

Unfortunately, that’s the way this league goes. KC did not want to pay Tyreek.

I’m pretty sure if they really were honest they would rather have him on their roster today.

Every year teams lose players that they would love to keep because the players rightfully so are seeking the most money they can get in their short careers

      Next man up !

      • markeyh's avatar markeyh says:

Chris Grier has swung foot off fences this year and if everybody were healthy, I can assure you that the Dolphins would probably have one maybe two losses

That’s what I mean by unreasonable fans who don’t take into account the unfortunate circumstance this team find itself in, especially when Tua went down with another concussion.

Everybody can claim something in hindsight about who we should’ve drafted. I’m more of a wait-and-see as their careers develop

Most rookies take 2 to 3 years to truly develop some hit right away, so I’m not giving up on Robinson as of yet

Markey – good to see you!

However, not being prepared for Tua going down was inexcusable. Last year for him was the anomaly, finishing an entire season. For them to expect that again was foolish. They get to see The backups up close every day. The fact that we’ve had 2 different backups come in and play after 2 weeks or less after being picked up is embarrassing! Grier sucks, he’s gotta go, we need to draft a QB early. Mike McDaniel has to show something to be brought back next season. He’s been totally underwhelming. How did he keep that ultra complicated scheme in there designed for Tua and expect not only Skylar Thompson to run it but Tyler Huntley and Tim Boyle who had no time to learn it. When you say it’s clear there’s a gap between Tua and the backups, you’re right, because Grier failed to properly address the backup QB situation

    • markeyh's avatar markeyh says:

So, you are saying our GM sucks because of the backup QB plan? In 4 years, the Grier has assembled a roster that is a legitimate playoff contender. The team went back to back to the playoffs, something that has not happened in over 20 years. That’s why I say some of you are unreasonable. The current roster we have is the best roster we have had in over 20 years.

Some fans are ungrateful. They don’t show appreciation for the GM. The GM put this team in a position to compete. Yes, injuries have hurt this team this year those things happen. The backup QB to me is more on the HC than the GM. But that’s an argument for another day.
