OK Dolphins fans, the Dolphins defeated the disinterested NY Jets who came in without any desire to play and there is much joy in not only this FMU blog but with Dolphins fans everywhere. We love beating the Jets! Bah! Humbug! Rivalry you say? NY Jets at 3-9 and our Dolphins at 5-7, and I’m supposed to get all jacked up about our supposed rivalry? Nope! I dream for more, hope for more, expect more. This team was supposed to be competing for not only a division title, but a playoff run to the Super Bowl. We hold a slim chance to get in, which so you know, will require a whole lot of losing by the other teams that are ahead of us, namely the Baltimore Ravens (8-5), The Los Angeles Chargers (8-5) , and the Denver Broncos (8-5). The Ravens remaining schedule includes the NY Giants, the Pittsburgh Steelers, Houston Texans, and Cleveland Browns. I see at least 2 wins probably 3, because they face both the Steelers and Browns at home. The Chargers have an even easier path, they face the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, the Denver Broncos, both at home, and the 2 final games they travel to New England and then to Vegas to face the Raiders. I see at least 3 wins there. Finally, the Broncos face the Indianapolis Colts at home, travel to LA to face the Chargers, travel to Cincy to play the Bengals and then the finale at home against the Chiefs, who may or may not have anything to play for. So not only do our Dolphins have to go on an improbable run of 4 straight but we also need one of the 3 teams above us to collapse. Each and every team ahead of us has been, and will likely continue to be better than our Dolphins. Most have been better defensively, and some of them offensively as well. With the exception of the Ravens, the Chargers have the number one defense (points allowed), and the Broncos are #2.
In Dolphins news, the Miami Dolphins and WR Odell Beckham have mutually agreed to part ways so our supposed 3rd WR who was going to be the guy that could step in for either Tyreek Hill or Jaylen Waddle is now gone. Beckham contributed 9 receptions for 55 yards. Boy, we have whiffed on some backups this season for reals folks! QB – Skylar Thompson check, LG Isaiah Wynn check, WR Odell Beckham Jr. check. I haven’t discussed the tsunami defensive line plan. Hey, let’s talk about one good signing. TE Jonnu Smith has been money this season, easily the best signing they made. It’s actually pretty close with DE Calais Campbell, but Campbell will only be here for this season, and thankfully we have Jonnu for one more season. I said before the season he could be a really good weapon for us, but even I didn’t expect the volume he’s been getting. If I told you he’d be within 100 yards of either WR Jaylen Waddle or Tyreek Hill through 12 games you would have laughed at me. He’s been a run after catch monster and took over the OT session against the Jets last week for the win. Tua did throw a dime on the TD throw, but the 2 screen passes were all Jonnu, especially considering one of them was tipped.
With the departure of WR Odell Beckham Jr., this elevates rookie WR Malik Washington to slot WR and #3 WR. RB De’Von Achane is the leading rusher but his YPC average has fallen to half of what it was last season. Achane in his rookie campaign averaged 7.8 YPV, now down to 3.9 YPC. It seems that Mike McDaniel has almost given up Achane getting chunk yards in the run game and he is often used in screen passes which sometimes allow him some space and time to get moving. WR Tyreek Hill has the most receptions with 65, but is followed closely by Achane with 63, and Jonnu Smith with 61. Last year, if you recall we didn’t have ONE TD from any of our TE’s. This season, Jonnu Smith has 5 of his very own. He has been a huge difference maker, a welcome addition.
On to the Texans! This will be a tough matchup for our Dolphins, quite different from last week’s battle against the “Walking Dead” NY Jets. One good thing is the climate won’t be to our disadvantage, the Texans play in an indoor stadium. The Texans are on the fringe of top 10 on both offense and defense, 11th in points scored (23.7 PPG) and 12th on defense (22.2 PPG). They have one excellent WR, Nico Collins who missed 5 games but is back and playing great football. WR Tank Dell is also a capable receiver but not in the class of Collins. John Metchie is the slot WR and he’s a good one They also have a dual threat back in Joe Mixon, who is their workhorse back and has 887 yards rushing and 244 yards receiving, along with 12 TD’s, 11 rushing and 1 receiving. CB Kendall Fuller is back, but he looked disinterested in contact last week, and we’re going to need a better effort from him against the Texans. Nickel and slot corner Kader Kohou has struggled tremendously lately, and behind him are UDFA CB Storm Duck, CB Ethan Bonner and CB Siran Neal who is more of a ST’s guy. This will be a tough task for these guys, especially if we don’t get pressure on QB C.J. Stroud. Bradley Chubb is nowhere to be found, so it’s going to be on Sieler, Jones, Campbell, Chop, Ogbah, Bell and Kamara, and some timed blitzes from our guy who does everything, Jalen Ramsey.
The dink and dunk offense has been working, but the problem we’ve been having is scoring TD’s. Losing those huge chunk plays, or seemingly even the threat of them has really hurt us. I’m not going to harp on this, but this offense was supposed to carry the team, and the defense, if whole, could have been adequate. The problem with the latter is we lost pass rushing LB Jaelan Phillips in game 4, and our other star pass rusher Bradley Chubb has begun practice but no timetable as to his availability has been heard. Our offense is 23rd in the NFL in scoring (20.3 PPG). Our much maligned defense is actually 14th in points allowed (22.5 PPG). Last season, our offense was 2nd in scoring (29.2 PPG). We were supposed to be close to that, and of course, we lost Tua for 4 games, which hurt us big time. This is the the type of game we need our QB Tua Tagovailoa to be great. Don’t throw completion percentages at me, or yards passing, those don’t translate into winning football games. Scoring, however does. If we can put a 30 spot on the Texans I feel pretty good about our chances. If we’re going to kick FG’s all day and out the onus on our defense, then this game could easily end this supposed playoff run. We need greatness, the weather won’t be a factor, this could be a signature game for QB Tua Tagovailoa if we can outpace the Texans.
GO DOLPHINS!!!

LOL…your first few sentences had me, then sobered me up with reality as you finished the first paragraph. Shameful. Thank you, Mike E.!
You should know me better than to expect a Hallmark feel good article! 🙂
Lol…I do!
Great article MikeE!
Thanks Mike!
Appreciate all the work you do Mike E!
👍
The draft is going to have a lot of good RB’s. I seriously think we need to take one on day 3. I have been looking for guys with quick burst, good vision, contact balance and lateral movement. RJ Harvey is one of them though only 5’9 he packs a punch when he needs to at 208 pounds. He also runs a projected 4.41 forty. He’s a great RB but should be there day 3 as he is not much help as a blocker.
I tend to agree with Ryder in bringing Eich back as a backup only. He knows the offense and can play both OG positions. BUT, we have to find 2 new starters at OG. Plus Eich should be cheap.
I am in favor of bringing Eich back to be used as a tackling dummy there I fixed it
Well, because of the way Chris Grier built this team and the only player under contract on the D-line, Zach Sieler, we’re going to have to hold on to Eich and draft competition because of the tackling dummy making the picks, Chris Grier. TIFI!
He’s a good guy to have on the roster, but he at best should be competing for a starting job, not just put into one. One could easily make the argument our first pick needs to be a DL, either a DT/NT or DE. Our defense is going to be bare next season, there’s no one coming back on the D-line but Sieler. We’re in a bad situation
Uh Chop Robinson?
Ken, Not counting OLB
Robinson is playing DE. He generally lines up with his hand on the ground
If we can draft a run stuffer DL early, I would like to double down and get another DL early day 3 with good athleticism/pass rush. One of the ones I like is Jordan Brurch from Oregon. He has 8.5 sacks for Oregon this year. He transferred there from South Carolina. He’s 6’6, 295 pounds and projects to run a crazy 4.68 FORTY and has the frame to get bigger.
He was clocked just short of 21mph on an INT return for a TD when at South Carolina. Though, this straight line speed. He’s not as quick as he is fast.
He might not make it to day 3 but a chance he’s there at #98 or top of 4th round. He’s just slightly above average in run D. He’s #5:
Chop was another crap pick in the first.
Chop is playing really well. Looks like a really good pick. Took him a little time to adjust but he has
Ken,
No, he’s not. You guys overhype our guys constantly. The only sacks he gets are when he’s never touched. He’s a 6-8 sack guy, at best. That’s not a first round pick. 19 tackles. 3.5 sacks….6th among rookies. That’s really good to you?
Strongly disagree. He is really coming the last 4-5 games.
Chop is an OLB. He plays nowhere near the tackle, he’s split out way wide. If he plays near the tackle he’d be absorbed every play. He’s nit playing DE, watch the games
I do which is why I can say he plays DE
Playing the 9 wide is still playing DE
On long pass downs, it looks like we run a 2-4-5 and rush both OLB’s.
We carry 5 DT’s on the 53. Seiler is the only one left. We will need 4 more.
Ken,
Yep, we disagree. I will say I’ve seen him set the edge better as the year goes on, but I don’t see many impactful plays. There are whole games where you can’t find the kid with a searchlight. All that said, he’s a rookie and obviously not a finished product. This is my assessment at this point. No reason he can’t improve.
I am not sure what you have been watching the last 4-5 weeks if you haven’t seen him make impactful plays.
You use Chop in a wide 9 look because his biggest asset is his speed, and when OL get their hands on him he’s done. He does not play well in a phone booth. He benefits from running the arc because it keeps him clean and allows him to do underneath moves with his speed.
If I were calling the D, I’d start using him as an A gap rusher. Do some loops and switches with the guys in front of him to create gaps and creases that he can use his speed to get through.
Ken,
Impactful plays are sacks….maybe TFLs. He has 3.5 and 19 tackles in 13 games. Where has he been impacting anything? And I actually do watch line play….way more than most fans do, I’d bet.
Our starting OL will be Paul, Jones, Brewer, Eich and Lamm. Yikes
@AaronWilson_NFL
Texans defensive line at full strength headed into Dolphins game with Foley Fatukasi back from foot injury. Pro Bowl bookends Danielle Hunter, Will Anderson Jr., have combined for 20 sacks
Basically, we are starting 4 backups and a tiny center.
{{SHUDDERS}}
If we rush as a team for more than 50 yards combined and keep Tua from getting another concussion, I will be surprised.
BBM,
Paul looked promising at LT. He didn’t stand out, but I thought he held his own and looked okay for a rookie. That said, he’s gonna get tested this weekend. Hunter is a physical specimen and very good. Actually, I’m more concerned about Jones and Eich than I am about Paul.
He did. I am more concerned about our OG’s and Lamm. I just heard that Lamm is injured also. Who’s going to play RT if he is unable or can’t finish the game?
Good thing we only signed OBJ to a 3 million 100% guaranteed contract. Of course, there is also dead money next year from the deal. SMH
Is there? I didn’t think he has a void year attached. I thought it was a straight up 3M contract with a 1,790,000 bonus at signing and a total of 3m guaranteed.
Spotract is showing 890K in dead money for him next year.
BBM,
I’m not even sure..maybe move Eich to RT. When you’re playing your third string, I’m not sure it matters much.
They may promote Ryan Hayes or Chasen Hines from the practice squad just in case, but my guess is Kion Smith will try to fill the spot if Lamm can’t go.
Kion Smith is on IR. We have Jackson Carman and Ryan Hayes as our only OT’s left.
I haven’t heard for sure if Lamm can’t go or not.
Yet more bizarre, head scratching behavior from our front office. WHY release OBJ? He is under contract for the rest of the season. At a MINIMUM he is a body that can run routes if someone gets injured (someone will!) It makes absolutely NO SENSE!
Sure, he disappointed with his production (As I said he would) but fuck man! He is getting paid, we don’t need his spot for someone else on the 53, they should have kept him and made him come to work every fucking day for his 3M
What a fucking sweet deal. 3 Million 60 days of work. $50K per day! and he didn’t even work all 60 of the days he was here!
FIRE GRIER AND MIKE MCDANIEL! DO IT NOW! DO NOT WAIT UNTIL THE SEASON ENDS! START THE SEARCH NOW!!!
BURN IT DOWN! BURN IT ALL DOWN!
You don’t have a guy like OBJ sit on the bench watching games unless he is offered that as an option and agrees.
Mike E,
Another good, Friday write! Yup, this Sunday’s game is do or die… as are all games left on the schedule for us. Our pass-rush MUST show up in order to force CJ Stroud into bad decisions, and yes, that includes PRESSURES.
Chop Robinson is the #2 rookie EDGE so far this season in terms of PRESSURES (40), only behind rookie phenom Jared Verse (64).
We need him to have a game this Sunday, along with all our other pass-rushers.
YES, sacks would be preferable, but PRESSURES will keep Stroud uncomfortable in the pocket, making life easier in our Secondary.
M13,
Pressures. Great. That’ll win games.
😆
I’m not going to get drawn into this arguement! LOL
*argument
I always mIzSpELlz that word!
Random stat
Calais Campbell is #2 (tied) in the NFL with 5 batted passes.
Jalen Ramsey is #6 (tied) in the NFL with 4 batted passes.

What part of my original post did you not understand? I said he is coming on the last several games. I said it took him a while to adjust but he appears to be doing that now. He over the last 4-5 games has been very productive and impactful. I am not arguing he was earlier in the season. Yes if that were his season numbers I would agree that is a disappointment. But if you can’t see the change in his play over the last 4-5 weeks I don’t know what to say
I am done here. We are not allowed to be a fan anymore. People only want to see us lose and tank. Anything positive gets turned into a negative. Basic non deniable facts are denied. It is just not healthy
Not like this board has ever been 100% healthy. You’ve been on many a hate Monday before. Being an intense fan gets intense at times. The current version just seems to want a revolution of the entire team….. normally that is an off season thing.
Untrue. I fan like I want to, you do you. We will disagree on many things, but I’m not going to tell you what to do, I made that clear last week where my head is at, and I still feel that way. Maybe a decisive win this week changes my mind, we’ll see. Chop Robinson most of the time plays LB. There are times in obvious pass rush situations where he comes up to the LOS and lines up wide, but most of his time is at LB, not DE, which is occupied by Sieler and Campbell.
Ken,
You’ve gotta be kidding me. I’ve been racked across coals for decades around here for being negative. Stop getting in your feelings. If you can’t have a legitimate conversation about how shitty team is then that’s on you.
This place is usually unrealistically overly positive. Who are you to dictate how I express my frustration as a fan? If you don’t like it…too damn bad.
He didn’t dictate what you should do in any way. Just expressed some frustration.
stanger,
So take a break….like many of us have.
I hope he does not, but that would be a choice. Ken is the Fest co-pilot….. he calls turbulence and I start picking up coffees. Would be great to see you at one btw. Awesome time.
Guys, it’s alright to disagree… that’s been my modus operandi since day 1. There’s good to be found in everything, just as there’s bad to be found in everything.
There’s no ONE way to fan, and that’s alright!
Regarding one Chop Robinson…
He’s a rook, not a completed work of art. He has been coming on as of late as Ken stated, but no, he’s not (yet) become an impact player as Randy suggests. Both takes are correct!
Granted one is a positive take and one is a negative take, it’s alright!
Tua rocks!!!
Stanger – The sooner we make a change, the faster we can hire the right people (hopefully) and get them going. You wait until the end of the season, you’re probably behind the 8 ball, and we have a big draft since we have so many damn holes to fill. Like I said last week, maybe we have 28-30 spots filled on our roster, maybe less. That’s a huge roster turnover, and I want the right people making those moves. I don’t like the team Grier assembled even if we make the playoffs, but I don’t think that will happen anyway, so there shouldn’t be a ton of controversy changing GM, and possible the HC as well, up to the new GM
But that presupposes that a change should be made. I like to think I’m a realist. I think Greir is Ross’s guy inside the team. And we just went longterm with Tua, Waddle and Tyreek (and huge cap). Don’t think that can be changed. And that was done on McDaniel’s vision. So I think we will be riding this one out for at least one more season if not more. No matter what you and I think.
I agree with at least 1 more year. They have gone in too deep not to.
Maybe, but maybe not. You could be 100% right. If they don’t make a move, they better not make any further moves that compromise the future of the team to try and win next season. They’ve already done enough damage
Know what I don’t understand? How Coach McD (coming from the Shanahan tree), coupled with Chris Grier, used 3rd round picks in back-to-back years on the RB position. Yes, we traded our ’25 3rd rounder to draft Wright in the 4th round in the ’24 Draft, but you catch my drift, right?
The Shanahan tree utilizes elite O-Line play to make it so even UDFAs can become 1,000 yard rushers.
Failed O-Line play and players have made it so that our prized 3rd round RBs can barely even rush for 4 yards per carry. FIX IT!!!
And once that’s fixed, there will no longer be two deep Safeties to neutralize both ‘Reek and Da’ Penguin every play.
… regarding the deep ball.
and there’s good RB’s on day 3 of every draft.
Absolutely… and including UDFAs.
Many haven’t been able to agree on things here since the SS. It will never change. lol
But there is a reason I am here almost every day. It’s you peoples!
^^^ !!!
stanger,
Ken is a longtime contributor. No doubt. So am I….longer than almost everybody here. I’m not suggesting he go away. I have taken breaks from this site more than once. It gets crazy sometimes. Nothing wrong with taking a breather. If he doesn’t wanna…that’s fine too.
I’d love to attend a fest and meet everyone….its just not really in my wheelhouse.
You think a Fest isn’t for you then maybe it isn’t. But there will be 30-some people at the next one who can guarantee you would love. And that would incluude Ken. He’s an amazing person. Stays at my place every Fest. My wife has proclaimed him the best house guest ever.
If anyone wants to write an article and put this team in a positive light, go right ahead, and send it to me and I’ll post it. I have to be true to what I feel or my post would be completely disingenuous.
MikeE, you are not all negative. Just think if Rock wrote an article. lol
LOL – I suppose that’s true, but I’m getting closer to Rock than I am to Hulk
That was very fair.
MikeE,
I’m on it!!! 🙂
Wait, maybe look up “positive” in the dictionary first! LOL
😂😂
LT Terron Armstead DOUBTFUL – The Patrick Paul era begins!
Stanger (and everyone else I suppose) – I have a theory, tell me your thoughts.
I think Grier traded for Jaylen Wright in the draft so he could have a RB in case De’Von Achane got injured. Achane has been healthy, so he has no real interest in using Wright over Achane, which is why we haven’t seen him. If I’m correct in my thinking, wouldn’t backup QB been more important, especially giving up future picks for a fallback guy. Thoughts?
No matter what they were thinking, believe they play Achane more that Wright cause Achane is just a whole lot better. Goes for Mostert too, even if not as much.
And yeah the way it worked out we should have had a solid #2 QB. But then if Tua didn’t get hurt we probably wouldn’t be talking about that right now.
I dunno about that. JMO, but methinks Grier/McD were looking to replace the aging and oft injury-prone Raheem Mostert, looking into the future.
No slight to Wright, but we would have been far better off drafting a Guard or backup QB instead of a RB.
Mike E.

Quite honestly, keep doing YOU, Mike E! I haven’t a problem whatsoever with you keeping it REAL on your terms. The last thing anybody wants is anything disingenuous. I think you’ve done an absolutely outstanding job in reflecting what you see with your eyes via your writing.
I don’t care if it’s postive or negative, so long as there is TRUTH. And to that extent, I believe you’ve done so, totally, and for many years now.
PROPS, Brother!!!
Anyone who doesn’t respect Mike E’s effort into this board is an idiot. Doesn’t mean folks can’t have a different opinion though.
+10000000000000000000000000000
Thanks bud, appreciate that
You’ve earned it, my guy! Excellent work!
Stanger – my feeling was and has been, it’s not IF with Tua, it’s WHEN
Tua is like a fancy sports car. The old saying was you should buy two cause one will always be in the shop.
Let’s all give MikeE a BIG HAND! 😜
😆
M – regarding Wright, that’s possible too, but why give up a future pick for a RB you don’t really need until the following season? Just a very questionable move, considering his usage this season
You got it! That’s what puzzles me(!) as well. It’s not that Wright was a wasted pick, but we should have reinforced the O-Line first… if not having gone after a QB to backup Tua.
I love the team and will always cheer for them to win. I like MM and hope we keep him. Now beat the Texans!
That’s cool, I wish I could go back, but I can’t.
“Going back” is what I did, like going back to when I was younger and just enjoyed each game, not worrying about being a “fan GM”. For me it has helped me enjoy the season and games again. Except for here, I don’t watch or read any other Dolphin stuff during the week.
That’s where I’m at right now as well. So long as there’s hope, I’m in. But once the dust settles, there needs to be substantial change.
I don’t even worry about that anymore. 17-20 games is all I get to watch them, I enjoy each one individually.
I think that’s pretty cool, actually! But like Mike E stated above, I wish I could go back, as well.
And perhaps I can, but I want this team to WIN before I die!
As an OG (original… not Offensive Guard, LOL), this is the very first year since the inception of ‘Howie’s List’ that we’ve given up on it in-season… and it happened early on.
I believe that’s very telling as to how we all feel right now… we’ve drastically underperformed this season and our pulse has slowed.
Not all
Quite correct. I shouldn’t have said “all”. My bad.
Your optimism is noted, Bookman! And let me tell ya, you ARE a breathe of fresh air!
Confession…
I LOVE hearing the optimism. I LOVE hearing the pessimism. It makes it that much easier to render a wise decision.
I mean, there are parts of this team that are REALLY good! There are also parts of this team that are REALLY bad!
In order to make this team better (that’s the GOAL!), we must identify the good and the bad.
I will always cheer for them…lol…I grew up there
….doesn’t mean I’m not going to pipe up and say why I think they’re amiss…lmao
I don’t conflate being a fan or rooting for the team and evaluating or discussing the state of the team. Maybe it’s because I’m a football fan who became a Dolphin fan…I’m told that so maybe it’s true. I just know I’ve always loved football. It’s become more entertainment than football, but I enjoy discussing it. I also expect to win every game and every loss still pisses me off…that’s the Dolphin’s fan part of me. One has nothing to do with the other, for me. I learned quickly that is not how everybody fans. Lol
My goodness, things are getting a bit heated. Do I need to break out the wooden spoon?
I think this is total frustration with this team. Some teams play better than the talent they have. We do not, if anything we’re worse. They should be better than they are. We have so much talent. Makes me think it’s coaching, and I hate to say that because I was on the MM bandwagon. But cool can only take you so far. Kissing Tua on the forehead having matching hairdos…he’s not their coach. He’s their buddy.
And not just MM I’m annoyed with. I’ve about had it with Tyreek too.
Not sure what the answers are but something needs to change.
Matching doos…lol..I noticed that too and thought that’s so gay…I am never politically correct…oh my
Herd,
my mom used the wire handle of a fly swatter. She broke so many wooden yardsticks my dad finally told her to stop using them. And, after breaking a couple wooden spoons, she stopped that too. I’m not lying even a little. We had 7 kids and 5 boys.
and I think you’re right. Losing sucks! 🙂
mop handle in my house. Same, Seven Kids, except four girls three boys. Mom was only 5 foot tall 100 pounds I was bigger than her by the time I was 11
stanger,
Hey, I just read your post about the fest maybe not being for me. I just wanted to say that my initial comment had nothing to do with the fest or the folks at it. It’s more about the commitment I’d have to make to do a trip like that. I go on vacation about once every 5 years. I sure hope you didn’t think I meant it was because I didn’t want to be around you folks. I’d love to shoot the shit and some pool with you guys!
Maybe we need to have a fest somewhere not in Miami one year? Something central to everyone to make travel easier.
That’s been tried before. Wasn’t pretty. Ended up just being Walker and David. Think folks like going to South Florida and Mecca.
Ahhh Walker and David. That brings back memories. Met them both once at what was then Downtown Disney.
When you said the Fest was not in your wheelehouse I took it as just that. But then I went into a promo pitch for it. Cause nothing I would like more than seeing you there. Just a long weekend bud.
herd,
That’s very nice of you to suggest…and if that worked out someday it’d be awesome. But, I wouldn’t want folks to do something like that. It sounds like folks have a great thing going with the fest. It’s a tradition! I always enjoy hearing the stories. Now that I’m retired I might find myself in Florida some day. 🙂

No slight to Wright, but we would have been far better off drafting a Guard or backup QB instead of a RB.
—————————————-
QB Joe Milton was available until the 6th round, went pick #193. QB Michael Pratt didn’t get selected until the 7th round.
We could have drafted OG Mason McCormick who was drafted in the 4th round instead of Wright. McCormick is starting at RG for the Steelers.
Also, C/G Beaux Limmer. He didn’t get drafted until the end of 6th round and is starting a center for the Rams.
It looks like Kendal Lamm is questionable so that’s better. Armstead doubtful.

I will make a Fest one year. Maybe next year! Lol
And…nothing heated here today. This place is tame now. Man the battles back in the day were hilarious 😂. Guess what’s changed in all this time? Nothing, we still suck! 😆
You’re not wrong!
Looks like we’re going from Austin “Healey” Jackson at RT to Jackson Carman “Ghia”. 🙂
You have to be a car guy to get this one . . .
I hesitate to say this, but IF we win tomorrow, we have a decent shot at the playoffs the broncos and chargers play each other, so that would mean if one of them loses and we win our, we get in. As long as Indy doesn’t win out.
they have 5 losses we have 7
yes- 5+2 =7…
Broncos have Colts tomorrow also, @ Bengals then CHiefs.
Not much on the college football schedule today.
Army/Navy game at 2pm on CBS
The first 2 bowl games but don’t know any prospects on those teams to watch.
Tuesday night though the Scooter’s Coffee Frisco Bowl with #25 Memphis vs WV.
WV has a stud LT. I would not mind drafting him, Wyatt Milum. He can play both OT positions but could also come in and start at either OG position. He’s likely going in the top 15 of the 1st round. He’s about the highest graded OL in both pass and run blocking.
Memphis has a QB I wouldn’t mind drafting, Seth Henigan. He might be worthy of a 7th round pick or an UDFA.
Seriously though, I don’t know why he is rated that low. He is a 4yr starter at Memphis and thrown for almost 14,000 yards, 102 TD’s to 31 INT’s. He’s not much of a runner but has also run for 10 TD’s.
He’s got a decent arm, accuracy and a quick release. I know FSU sucked this year but here is his game at FSU.
He could be this drafts Brock Purdy, IMO.
not much of a runner doesn’t translate to current NFL great QBs, maybe Goff, but he has a great OL and we can’t pick OL
BTW, Memphis TE Anthony Landphere, 6’5 248 would also be a decent 7th round or UDFA pickup. He had a few receptions in the video above and is a decent blocker. Over the last 2 seasons he has 62 rec for 639 yards and 7 TD’s. I think he would, at least, be an upgrade over Jullian Hill.

The #Dolphins waived QB Skylar Thompson
Making room for Chubb?
he’s not ready yet. Maybe another OL
Skylar to PS i guess
yeah , no one is picking him up
They may have waived Skylar to make room for Jackson Carman, who will probably be starting at RT if Lamm can’t plaaaay
Jackson Carman is already on the 53 when Jackson went down. Maybe a spot for Ryan Hayes. I don’t know how many times Hayes has been activated. I think only once.
Congratulations Navy!! The Navy and Marine Corps team pulls off the upset!!
Sweet!
The Miami Dolphins waived quarterback Skylar Thompson on Saturday, the team announced.
That transaction, along with the decision to part with wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr., opened two spots on the active roster. The team filled those spots by signing defensive tackle Matt Dickerson from the practice squad and activating wide receiver Grant DuBose from the injured reserve.
OT Ryan Hayes is elevated from the practice squad for the game.
Our OT’s for the game will be Patrick Paul, Kendall Lamm, Jackson Carman and Ryan Hayes.
Also elevated LS Zach Triner from PS.
Seiler was a Division II walk on. Then a 7th round pick stashed on the practice squad. Now one of the top DT’s in the league.
I hope he gets a pro bowl nod.
The Herd dropped out of the Independence Bowl because so many players hit the portal-3 QBs among those leaving. ☹️

That’s terrible. They need to get this under control.
Not sure if they thought paying student athletes like professional athletes would solve the issue of whether they play in bowl or championship games, but maybe that needs to be stipulated in the contract they sign.
@gregauman
NFL teams with the most in player fines in 2024: Jets: $206k, Chiefs: $189k, Dolphins: $179k, Saints: $173k, Ravens: $160k, Texans: $157k, Chargers: $156k, Seahawks: $154k, Bucs: $152k, Lions: $150k
That’s over 1.6 million just on the top 10. Who gets that money?
The fines collected are donated to the Professional Athletes Foundation to support Legends in need and the NFL Foundation to further support the health, safety and wellness of athletes across all levels, including youth football and the communities that support the game.

Thanks for the quick answer BBM.
Your welcome BBM
That is a good question. It made me curious. According to the NFL Football Operations website all the funds go to programs for former players.
lol, too late
@gregauman
In all, 50 NFL players have been fined more than once this season. Those with the most:
Brian Branch, Lions: 5, $51k
Chauncey Gardner-Johnson, Eagles: 4, $56k
George Pickens, Steelers: 4, $48k
CeeDee Lamb, Cowboys: 3, $48k
Keon White, Patriots: 3, $42k
Darrell Taylor, Bears: 3, $40k
Trevor Penning, Saints: 3, $34k
Byron Young, Rams: 3, $31k
Kader Kohou, Dolphins: 3, $17k
Man… and Darth Kader’s play has really dropped off this season as well. One of the reasons I felt we should have picked up Emmanuel Forbes.
Forbes will be the ultimate nickel CB for the Rams, being they know he’s a nickel… not a boundary CB. Though, he can play boundary in a pinch.
That was a swing and a miss on Forbes by the FO.
“By claiming him (Emmanuel Forbes) off waivers, the Rams take on the remainder of his contract, which comes with an average annual salary of $3.85 million per year. His rookie deal runs through 2026, with a fifth-year option in 2027 if the Rams want to pick it up”
We certainly had the ability to clear out enough space to make it work. Plus, Kadar is scheduled to become a FA after this season, if memory serves.
Yes… I would have claimed Forbes in a heartbeat.
Kadar is scheduled to become a FA after this season, if memory serves.

Yes, but we are ok a CB. We have Ramsey, Fuller, Smith, Bonner and Duck on the 2025 roster. With Smith’s injury history, it still would have been nice to have Forbes in the group.
I think Duck would be better in Kohou’s spot at NB anyway. He is limited in his abilities, mainly his speed.
I think Cam is garbage. That guy will never stay healthy or play well enough to be a reliable starter. It’s a Chris Grier trademark!
True, he hasn’t shown us anything to give us any confidence. That’s for sure
The panhandle sucks! Why the F do we get the Chiefs/Browns game instead of the Dolphins/Texans?
This shit happens every week
Maybe they want to show better teams? lol
it’s December. The Texans have a winning record. The chances of the playoffs are essentially over if we lose today. If we win, we have a decent shot of getting in. Let’s see what you got Tua, dolphins, MM…
Yeah, let’s see!
😂
I fear that Tua will be today’s Phillip Rivers- gaudy stats, but really never won shit and couldn’t come up big when he needed to.
Good comparison. I know a lot of Fins fans say Brees, but this guy ain’t no winna!
it will be interesting to see if MM can out coach DeMeco Ryans today. They are obviously from the same coaching tree, but MM has a year experience on him.
Does DeMeco Ryans Have Mike McDaniel Figured Out?
It’s hard to keep track of the extended (Mike) Shanahan family in the NFL. Technically, it includes Zac Taylor (Bengals) and Kevin Sefanski (Browns).
But for the purposes of this exercise, we’re only including current and former head coaches who worked directly with McDaniel (and the younger Shanhanan) in the past: Kyle Shanahan, Robert Saleh, Matt LaFleur, and Sean McVay.
Against those coaches, his offense has not met its standard.
The Dolphins have played 47 regular-season games in McDaniel’s three seasons as Dolphins.
Their averages in those games: 24.6 points per game, 6 yards per play, 39.1% conversion rate third downs, 61.7% conversion rate in the red zone, and a .553 winning percentage.
In their eight games against those McDaniel peers: 22, 5.5, 38.5%, 47.8%, and .500.
Is that causation or correlation? Do those closest to McDaniel have the blueprint to shutting down his offense?
We’ll find out in the next two weeks, when the Dolphins face Ryans’ Texans and Kyle Shanahan’s 49ers.
that doesn’t apply to this short passing O
MM is a schmuck, he started out with a high powered O to make himself look good as a play caller/OC, while building a soft, can’t beat good teams, oft injured, weak minded, bunch of excuses, whatever Julian Hill is, pansies
our final 4 games are all winnable, they’re also all loseable
playing in Clev on the 29th we’ll see what these guys are made of, if we’re 8-7
Kendall Lamm inactive. Better get plenty of TE today or it’s going to be a long day.
Go Dolphins!!!
Donkies vs Colts today, if Colts win they should get in, they finish withTenn, NYG, and Jags
Go Donkies
Kevin Harlan, isn’t he our guy?
Ok! Let’s see if I regret watching live today.
Go Phins!
struggling to find a streaming site again
Our RG went early twice and didn’t get called
Tua worries too much about his completion percentage.
🍺
Tua taking a 1 yard sack, instead of throwing it away, to save his comp%
anyone got a streaming link?
Holland continuing to not make plays
he’s regressing year after year. I’m sure the fact that he’s had three DC’s isn’t helping, but he has to do better.
thought it was Kohou at first, because he’s been doing a lot of that this year
shocked they kicked a fist pump
besides doing nothing with the ball and letting them go right down the field…at least we still can’t tackle
MM by default outcoaching Hou
Good grief, can’t get a 1st down from 1st and 5.
Tua off the mark on two passes in his first two series…playing against a good team…
Sliver lining – we gained two yards
that’s the second time Tua has missed the back in the flat. First, he waited too long and hit Achane while he was standing still and he took a three yard loss. This time he missed Mostert that would have been an easy first down.
10′ waves today, I’m getting closer
sieler is a beast
lol, that deserves two beers
🍥🍻
Sieler is a beast
I wish we had enough money to give Seiler a raise
Come on now, let’s go, offense!!
killing them softly with Achane
lol, nice tackle by Brewer
