While you’re here(!), I was wondering what your take is on all the drones in New Jersey? I’ve heard several plausible theories, but I’m not invested in any. In other words, I have no idea. What are your thoughts, man?
Hard sayin’. I tend to believe it’s our government doing something. Or maybe another spy balloon scenario – they got caught with their pants down and are covering it up.
At the risk of being labeled a red neck, I really wish they would just go back to the Hank Jr Monday night theme.

There’s absolutely nothing wrong with being a “redneck”, Bookman! So long as one isn’t racist, it’s all good!
Me? I wish they’d change it up from week-to-week in order to accomodate all musical tastes. To have an original score and see how each genre interprets as much would be really cool and fun!
Ya know… to have the country version, the rock version, the rap version, the jazz version, the heavy-metal version, etc…
So Fantasy update . Unless packers dst goes 13pts to the negative Stanger will advance to finals .. in order for me to advance I need 49 points from Josh Jacobs .. so congrats to Twice
Good question, and the right answer, imo. You. take the team’s current record against other teeams’ current record, not the record the other team had when you played them. So, the Dolphins have a terrible record against the over .500 (better/winning) teams. Another fact….lol.
From Dave Iannuzzi:
Alain, we hear a lot about the Fins sorry record against teams with winning records. I have always wanted to ask you how that is determined. Is it the opponents W/L record when you play them (so beating a 1-0 team in week #2 is beating a team with a winning record?) Or is it based on the opponents W/L record from the prior season? Or is it based on the opponents W/L record at end of the season you played them? Or is it a little bit of all of those depending when the game is or when you are discussing the stat?
Hey Dave, there’s no set rule for that, but the stats we usually hear associated with the Dolphins involves an opponent having a winning record at the end of the season in which the game was played. So the Dolphins this season are 1-6 against teams that currently have a winning record.
That seems like a pretty fair gauge. That’s how you assess winning teams or losing teams, not by whether they were 1-0 and you beat them. Also, it doesn’t take Alain Poupart to tell us what’s going on here. We all know we play a good team and we lose a high percentage of those games
Bookman – I’d rather the NFL cut out every other game but the Sunday games and the Monday Night Football game. They’ve completely oversaturated the week with Thursday Night Football, now Saturday Football, Sunday Night Football, and then by the time you get to the Monday Night Football, sometimes there are 2 games. Stop the nonsense! Sunday day games, and Monday Night Football is the weekly Marquis Matchup. IDGAF which song they play, but I really like the original, so that works.
I love more games. I grew up in rural VA watching Redskins all the time with a mix of Steelers. There were 4 games I could watch total. I like this far better.
Kenneth Grant, 6’4, 330, 4.95 forty, big man who can move
— ILB/MLB.
This is the tricky one. I can’t find a big do it all stud. There is something missing on all of them. Most of them who do everything well are smallish. You are definately waiting until picks 98 or 99 to take one like:
Deontae Lawson, 6’2, 239, 4.6 forty
Chris Paul, 6’1, 235, 4.61 forty
Danny Stutsman, 6’4, 241, 4.62 forty
Jay Higgins, 6’2, 231, 4.7 forty (don’t like that projected 40 time)
— Safety.
Nik Emmanwori, 6’3, 227, 4.38 forty, this season – 83 tackles, 4 INT’s, 2 pick 6
There are 3 others I wouldn’t mind having if we go DT first and miss on Nik.
— CB.
Domani Jackson, 6’1, 197, projected 4.28 forty, may be there as late as 4th round
M13 these names I am using to fill your team needs are not the best players at their positions. They are based on what I think our priorities should be. Therefore many names I have listed are day 3 prospects since we only have a total of 4 day 1 and day 2 picks.
Can’t wait to watch ASU vs Texas next Wednesday and see how well Cam Skattebo does. He’s a 3 down back, gives you power with YAC. Ridiculous contact balance and loves to punish defenders. I would love to have him as RB3 but he may be climbing draft boards to a day 2 pick which would not make it realistic with all our needs. Yeah, posted twice before. Sorry, man crush. lol
I don’t understand. So, the rule has always been that once a player is set on the line, they cannot move. The “backfield” was anybody behind the LOS zone, which includes a WR in a slot position. Any of those guys can switch to different stances as long as they’re set before the snap and 2 guys aren’t moving. Guys were never allowed to go towards the LOS. That’s always been a foul. This is why I asked you guys if they’d changed the rule last year. Guys all over the NFL have been doing it for a few years. Refs haven’t been calling it. So, what’s changed?
Because Tim wants to know, with 2 games left, the Dolphins have pick #12. Dolphins have the easiest SOS in the entire NFL and that won’t change after the last 2 games. They will always be picking ahead of any team tied with the same record. The lowest pick would be 18.
Even if we finish 9-8 there will be several teams we will be tied with. I think after the season is over we will pick around #15 is my prediction. If 8-9, we will pick right where we are at #12.
However it pans out, I think my #1 target would be DT Kenneth Grant at #15. Only 1 site ranks Grant in the top 10 players. Then 8 sites have him ranked between #14 and #26, PFN has him ranked #42.
There are a number of good safeties who will be available in the second round.
This was from after the game Sunday but I still call BS. We are 16 weeks into the season and Tua has been back for how many games? You’ve been practicing/playing with Tua just short of 3 season. Bullshit!
My Christmas started off a little sad. A stray cat got in my backyard at 5am this morning and my dogs attacked it. I know it was not a neighbors cat and was a stray because it’s ear was clipped so it had been trapped, fixed and released. By the time I got to them and “called the dogs off” he was paralyzed at the hind quarters. I have 2 big Lab and Rhodesian Ridgeback mixed dogs.
What I don’t get is they know cats as we have 3 and they never mess with them. I don’t know. I took him straight to the animal ER this morning and the vet had to put him down. Just a bummer to start the day.

M13, I responded last page.
Cordarrelle Patterson, in a way, with his size and running ability.
OH!!!
Now you’re speaking to my heart! LOL 😉
Yeah, man… I hear that.

There is so much WINNING to be had with this idea!!!
Nope, I just want the original.
😆
Fine, then just be a curmudgeon! LOL 😉
I’m joking around with you, of course! 😀
^ regarding you just wanting the original!
I will have to do the D prospects tomorrow.
Your input is VALUED, BB Mike!

Toba — thanks for herding all the fantasy cats. Seems you were two of them this weekend. 🙂
Maybe they should have a continuous running clock like in high school for games like this.

Lol…I think most do.
Miami Dolphins eliminated from playoffs if:
Dolphins lose/tie OR
Chargers win/tie and Broncos win/tie
The operative word is “and”.

Krisna,
That’s what I use too. Looking back again to make sure I’m right, here’s the numbers;
2024- Rams who are guaranteed a winning record
2023- Dallas (12-5)
2022- Balt-(10-7) great comeback win
Buff-(13-3) our only win against them with Tua
Pitt-(9-8) Pulled out 16-10 with scoreless 2nd half
Det- (9-8) 2nd year of their incredible rebuild
Just 6 wins in 3 wins years against winning teams and just 2 the past two years. Last year was built on the back of terrible teams. On to losing;
2022- Lost to Buff twice, SF, Chargers, Cincy, Vikes.
2023- Bills twice, KC twice, Philly 31-17, Balt 56-19. One Bills and KC game were also blowouts.
2024- Bills twice, Texans, GB. Seattle so far. We only played 4 good teams this year.
So far that’s 6-17 against winning teams but we’ll see about Indy and Seattle by the end.
That’s terrible.

I can’t believe there is only 1 bowl game today. The Hawaii Bowl tonight. USF vs San Jose State.

I can’t figure that out either. What was the supposed loop hole the Dolphins, Rams and 49er’s were exploiting in 2023?? I don’t know.

I just think Kenneth Grant is a unique talent you can’t pass on. Especially when you have that glaring need at the position.
He would be a perfect fit in our defense as he can line up at NT and 3’4 DE opposite Seiler. He has the quickness and power.
Until free agency and what we do there, this is my guy with our 1st pick.
He’s a massive 6’3, 339 pounds but projects to run 4.95 forty. I have to post him again.
I like it.

Cleveland weather for Sunday shows a high of 52 degrees and some rain. Dolphins have a chance. 😉
I almost wanted a cold weather game. Just so we have to show we can do it.

Agree…distracted…so much fucking drama…lol
I like what Tyreek can do and he’s funny as heck, but he’s a diva. But then isn’t that what any league star wideout is other than Jerry Rice?
Yep
Larry Fitzgerald. Consummate professional.
Hines Ward is another.
LOL @ BBMike!
Quick fly-by…

Bradley Chubb will not be activated by tomorrow’s deadline. He will not play in 2024.
I read that earlier. Not surprising- too much risk vs. reward
