As we watch from afar at the two best teams ready to meet in Super Bowl 59, it’s easy to see as a realistic fan that our team will not get anywhere near a Super Bowl perhaps until at least the low to mid 60’s. We have to go through the agonizing 2025 season with this team stuck in neutral at best, trying desperately to make the playoffs and once again realize we don’t belong there anyway. This past season, the supposed Super Bowl run of 2024 Miami Dolphins was a fatally flawed team. One of our best players was a very late free agent signing in 16 year veteran DL Calais Campbell. The other was an older free agent signing who signed 3 years ago and at age 34 may return in 2025, as may DL Calais Campbell. If I were Calais Campbell, I’d look to play on a contender, which clearly precludes playing for the Miami Dolphins. If I were the Miami Dolphins front office and/or coaching staff, I’d only have Terron Armstead back as a backup, as our young LT Patrick Paul, who we drafted in RD2 (#55) gets his chance to be a full time bona fide NFL starting LT.
This team is going to have a major overhaul in 2025, there will be 25-30 roster spots occupied by players that were not on the roster in 2024. Yes, all this after GM Chris Grier and HC Mike McDaniel telling Miami Dolphins Owner Stephen Ross that this team was a Super Bowl contender. Sure, there were some setbacks, the team lost OLB Jaelan Phillips to a torn ACL in game 4 after he worked so hard to get back from a torn achilles injury in 2023. OLB Bradley Chubb, who tore his ACL in 2023 never actually made his return last season. Then of course QB Tua Tagovailoa missed a career high 6 games last season, first with a concussion (no way!), and then with a hip injury, yes, the very same hip that concerned the team in the first place that was injured when he played at Alabama. The Dolphins were really exposed as totally inept as they panicked and scrambled to bring in 2 QB’s off of other team’s practice squads and then immediately have them start, QB’s Tim Boyle and Tyler Huntley were put in immediately, into an overly complicated offensive scheme, and weren’t given much help by HC Mike McDaniel who didn’t appear to simplify things for them as was an atrocious amount of penalties like false start, and motion penalties. To add salt to the wounds, even supposedly educated NFL commentators would compare and contrast the team’s success with QB Tua Tagovailoa to the 3 QB’s that replaced him to show how valuable he is. It was akin to throwing a second grader in to play QB for the High School varsity team. Just a disgrace, and further proof how wrong this team was giving a QB with a lengthy injury history that massive contract.
If you look at the composition of the two Super Bowl teams, you can see that both of these teams are very physical. The Chiefs have slipped a bit on the O-line, especially compared to the Philadelphia Eagles. The Eagles are bullies on the O-line, and combine that with their athletic QB who is a threat to run at any time, it makes the actual ground game of RB Saquon Barley even more dangerous. Having that threat of Jalen Hurts keeping the ball and taking off leaves the defense vulnerable for Saquon, and the passing game as well. The Chiefs have a very physical defense led by DT Chris Jones, and DE/LB George Karloftis, who reminds me a lot of Kyle Van Noy, formerly of the New England Patriots, Miami Dolphins and now Baltimore Ravens. Looking at all final 4 teams, they all have an athletic QB who can run the ball as well as throw it. The Buffalo Bills with MVP QB Josh Allen, the Washington Commanders with QB Jayden Daniels, 2024 Rookie of the Year and Offensive Player of the Year, the Philadelphia Eagles with Jalen Hurts, and of course the Kansas City Chiefs with QB Patrick Mahomes, who is going for the Threepeat. You can see where the trend is going, and you can also see that our team is going in the wrong direction. Our young 27 year old QB will be asked to stay in the pocket, not to risk injury by rushing the ball, because inevitably, this will lead to injury. We’re going to have build an impenetrable wall around Tua, and not allow him to absorb any hits from the defense. Yeah well, good luck with that!
All I can hope, as I’ve mentioned here before, is our GM Chris Grier, and our Head Coach don’t try and mortgage the future in a futile attempt to win now. What that translates to is not trading any future picks away, and building the team correctly. Not drafting for now only, but also drafting for the future. Don’t restructure contracts and add more cap deficit in future seasons to sign players now. In other words, build responsibly, not impulsively. Build as if you’re going to be here for another decade, not as if this is potentially your last year. Easy for me to say, my job isn’t on the line, but to be fair, with Stephen Ross in charge, it’s hard to believe their jobs are actually in danger anyway, despite the fact the we here all realize they have to be.
Enjoy the game, and observe the things we don’t have, need to have, but probably won’t have, at least through 2025, and hope for better things to come for this team soon!
Happy Super Bowl LIX !!

First
Trying to have optimism but the voice in the back of my head kind of squashes that. This will always be my team and I have to live with whatever they do. So, that alone gives us every right to bitch about them. lol
There are some FA options at WR (in our price range).
Tyler Boyd – 6’2, 203, coming off a poor year with poor QB play on the Titans. Before that he had 8 good years with the Bengals. He signed a 1yr contract last year for 2.4 million. We should have signed him instead of OBJ.
Elijah Moore – 5’10, 180, 4.35 forty, coming off a 2yr 4.5 mill deal with Browns
Nick Westbrook – 6’2, 211, coming off rookie deal with Titans
Trent Sherfield – we know him
Justin Watson – 6’2, 215, coming off 2yr 3.4 mill deal with Chiefs
Tutu Atwell – 5’9, 165, coming off rookie deal with Rams
Olamide Zaccheaus – 5’8, 193, coming off 1yr 1.2 mill deal with Commanders
Dyami Brown – 6’0, 195, 4.44 coming off rookie deal
The 2 that interest me most are Tyler Boyd and Dyami Brown.
The Jets are moving on from Aaron Rodgers.
I wish we were moving on from our QB too . . .
Lmfao…it’s about time, Mike E.!
Bring it!
Thank you!
My pleasure! Enjoy the game tonight!
At least I get to watch good football!
Mike – In our case, it might just take a little more failure to have a chance at improving the team. I just can’t wrap my head around this team ever competing with Grier and MM in control. I’ll bite the bullet, suffer with this crappy team one more season and then hope we finally make some good choices. Odds aren’t good, but they have to be better than what we have currently. Also, shedding Tua, his salary will help build a strong foundation, rather trying to add inexpensive pieces around a less than stellar QB
We need to move in a different direction…
…like a few have said…lol
Bullshit call #1 in the Chiefs favor
PSU in the house!
lmfao at rhat spot!
Looks like Chiefs’ DL lining up offsides a lot.
Ha! They’re reading me! Lol
DeJean!!!!!!!
Fangio’s defense looking good…
Zach Baun is going to make a bunch of money after this season.
Love seeing the Chiefs getting a beatdown!
^
Halftime comments:
I fucking love it!!!
Philly is tough in the trenches, just sayin…
Philly totally dominating.
lmfao…. basic football!
Are you paying attention SR, CG. MM.
Another pathetic half time show.
^
The Buick GNX on the stage was the best part
what were you expecting? …lmfao
I wasn’t expecting that cool car! The rest, I figured
I got exactly what I was expecting unfortunately.
The Chiefs can’t block them. Very reminiscent of their loss to Tampa.
Uh…so what are yoi saying? Whispers and dreams? You are soft….lmao
Barkley has had some holes he is not seeing.
Again, Hurts is the guy who got benched at Alabama in favor of Tua.
I am really happy for him.
He’s the current model of a QB in today’s NFL, Tua is circa 1980
honestly I think the eagles are the best in the league on almost every unit other than QB
hurts is good at what he does
but the Eagles OL, DL, secondary, LBs, RB, TE and WRs are some of the leagues best
they are a complete team
but IMO a lot of QBs would succeed on this team
Fangio is so much smarter than Grier and MM. He knew what’s happening here in Miami and wanted no part of it
^
what a massive choke by KC tonight
This is a thing of beauty!
Mahomes has 61 yards passing and a rating of 18.3
KC went from the possibility of the first team to 3pete the the possibility of the first team to be shut out in a Super Bowl
NICE game so far! GO EAGLES!
The only thing that’s really chaffing my tail right now is the outright disrespect Jevon Holland (and Cam Smith) showed Vic Fangio. I wonder how Holland is feeling right now, LOL!
Do NOT re-sign Holland, he’s a cancer.
I think it’s the MM personality. Holland did well when Flores was here
Nah, man. Now you’re going out on a branch. Holland certainly sucked this past season with Weaver… who he personally ‘qualified’ as a good person.
And… Weaver provided a top-10 Defense for us. Holland sucks.
Branch = limb.
I’ve had a few drinks, LOL.
Well, there are different facets to a defense. Who in the secondary this year did well?
Amazin! I am a happy man!

————-
Nobody, though Ramsey had a good year (just not for him). And that, my friend, scares me. We’ve gotta find a Safety (IMO) by the end of day 2 of the Draft.
What I’m saying is, maybe it’s not Holland, maybe this defense was good for the D-line and LB’s, but not for the secondary. Ramsey had a down year for Ramsey. I thought everyone in the secondary struggled, and I bet Holland gets a big contract somewhere else. I wouldn’t give him one, but he will be valued by some other team.
Beautiful!!!!
this Eagles Fangio is not the Dolphins Fangio
this is kind of typical for Fangio
sometimes he coaches great defense, sometimes he doesn’t
I don’t think it’s all on the players their attitudes or the current coaches
why give Fangio a pass for 2023 – remember how bad our defense played in The MNF game against the titans
There is some truth to that. Eagles defensive roster is solid top to bottom.
Pete Prisco “Fangio was too mean for the Dolphins”.
Probably right
what do people think about targeting Mekhi Benton in free agency?
He’d be better and more imposing than anyone else on our O-line
Piggy – no doubt Eagles have better players on their defense. That part is on Grier for relying on Jaelan Phillips and Bradley Chubb, and to be honest, he got fucking extremely lucky Calais Campbell was still around.
What would you do in that situation, draft Chop and try to keep it going the best you could?
Barry Jackson @flasportsbuzz
All Dolphins need is to go 8 for 8 (nail all 8) in signing/drafting 2 very good starters at guard & safety, 1 ILB, 1 DL, 1 NT, 1 backup QB. Plus health for Tua and everyone else. Plus hoping Paul becomes dominant if Armstead doesn’t return. Plus a good 3rd or 4th WR. That’s all.
Piggy said it earlier about the Eagles.
congrats to them. We suck. Will still suck next year.
Go Phins
Great Super Bowl. I really enjoyed that.
Too bad Fangio is such a big meanie.
Reports are coming in that Taylor Swift has ended her relationship with Travis Kelce. Her newest single “Can’t hang with 4 catches for 39 yards” will be available for purchase on Tuesday, February 11th.
I agree with, Piggy. The Eagles are loaded. Howie Roseman is the best personnel executive at the moment.
The Eagles are loaded, but they are also a tough team. They play hard. They have grit. Anybody wanna start building this team the right way yet?
Tim – The whole team is built on soft, injured players. They have a QB who before they drafted him had a bad injury history, then they saw him get injured and injured again (concussions) and then invested long term with him with a huge contract. It’s not rocket science, we all see it. They had a chance to do exactly what the Mets did with Pete Alonso, they could have played him on the 5th year option, and if they did, they couldn’t possibly be stupid enough to give him that contract after missing 6 games this season. I swear, Grier got so lucky Campbell was still around, that D-line was a fucking joke without him, Sieler is awesome, but if Campbell didn’t play so well, he would have had a much harder time being the only guy to concentrate on. They also traded for Chubb, another guy with a injury history situation. Then they’re forced to rely on Jaelan Phillips who’s middle name is “injury”. He hasn’t built a team, it’s like there’s no plan, it’s all about acquiring other teams players and giving away draft capital to do so. His drafting has been questionable, we have probably the worst record of retaining our own draft picks. After Holland leaves in free agency, I think we’ll have maybe 16-18 draft picks left on the roster, and maybe 1/4 of those guys are decent to good. It’s time to purge this organization of that trash record and start building a team. That’s what you do. Nope, Ross keeps these two clowns on, just to probably see them fuck the future of this team even further!

Judging 7th rounder against 1st rounders is pretty hanky
There have been plenty of FAILED draft picks!
You just didn’t list them above
Plenty of wasted picks for sure! I just listed the players that are still on the roster for 2025
I feel like there is a bit of revisionist history going on here
first, the most important thing about Fangio leaving Miami is that he always wanted to be in Philadelphia
Fangio was a defensive consultant in Philly in 2022. Miami hired him out of that role as their DC. The Dolphins hired him before Philadelphia was able to hire him, or he would have stayed in Philly. After the Fangio hire in Miami, Jeffrey Lurie told Siriani to fire Desai (the egles dc) if he wanted to keep his job. So he did and they went after Fangio, but Fangio was already hired by the Dolphins and he couldn’t take the job he actually wanted
so he left after 1 season in Miami
a lot of emphasis has been placed on the culture in Miami but I thi k you have to keep in mind that Fangio actually wanted to be in Philadelphia as DC, siriani refused to fire his current DC after the eagles lost there last 5 games in 2023, and the owner forced that firing after Fangio was under contract
and yes, Philadelphia is built right. They are strong up front
but in 2023 they choked away their season just like we did
they got up and got better in 2024
that’s toughness imo
not how many players got hurt
I respect the hell out of players like Tua and Phillips who come back from injury and keep working hard – that’s toughness.
We need to get better up front. A lot better. But we have scrappers in Miami. we have players that will fight
I think if anything, the player I really have a problem with right now is Tyreke Hill for quitting in that last game. To me that’s soft. But apparently Hill has moved on from that attitude (which is questionable) and hes ready to ply hard in Miami
Players didn’t like him, they didn’t buy in. That’s on them.
So Fangio is not responsible for doing a mediocre job in Miami but he’s completely responsible for the great job he did in Philadelphia?
Weaver was better as DC in Miami with less than Fangio was
also, I think k there was something relevant that I heard last night about siriani and soemthing for McDaniel to learn from
Siriani explained that he wants to call plays but he doesn’t bc it stops him from coaching the entire game
this is something McDaniel has to do. Swallow your pride and give playcalling duties to some one else
I kind of think the softness thing is a projection on a warm weather city, with small statute who dresses like he eats avocado toast daily with a small stature
if he doesn’t change that, we will lose again in 2025 IMO. McDaniel has to give up playcalling this offseason.
I don’t know why
The players didn’t like him, didn’t buy in, and former Dolphins players who left said this team is soft, as well as Jordan Poyer who played who was a Bill and then played for us last season
You said that. You are completely absolving him of accountability for his performance with Miami and giving him all the credit for his performance in Philadelphia
One of those players who hated Fangio last year – Xavien Howard, wasn’t even on our team in 2024.
who do you think people are talking about when they say players were at strip clubs all night the night before the game?
It was 7 years ago Jalen Hurts got benched in the National Championship for Tua who came in and threw a walk off 41 yard bomb to Devonta Smith for a TD and the win.
Last night, Jalen Hurts was in the SB, Tua was home watching. Late third quarter, Hurts hits Devonta Smith on a 46 yard bomb for a TD to put a fork in any thoughts the Chiefs had about a come back.
Common denominator, DEVONTA SMITH. We traded away a first round pick to move up for Waddle when we could have stayed put and got Devonta Smith. I was pounding the table for months leading up to the draft to select Smith.
This still pisses me off! We spent TWO 1ST ROUND PICKS to draft Waddle when we could of had Devonta Smith.
To make this decision even more stupid:
Tua had better chemistry at Alabama with Devonta Smith.
Devonta Smith was the #1 WR at the NFL Combine when it came to Production Score and Total Score.
Coming out of college Devonta Smith was the better route runner. (Waddle has become a very good route runner though).
Again, we spent TWO 1ST ROUND PICKS for a WR when we could have drafted the other for equal production (more scoring).
Waddle – 309 receptions for 4,129 and 20 TD’s
Smith – 308 receptions for 4,011 and 27 TD’s
They have been neck and neck in the stat column every year until 2024 where Waddle only had 2 TD’s allowing Smith to pull away there.
Piggy – Look at Fangio’s record in every stop in the NFL. He’s as successful a DC as there is in the NFL. I’m not sure what you’re getting at, but if I had to pick one which sucked more, this team, or Fangio as a DC, I’d pick this team 9 out of 10 times
I don’t know why you are arguing Fangio has been successful. I think he’s a very good DC too. It’s got nothing to do with whether he wanted to be in Miami at all. I am saying he didn’t want to be in Miami. It doesn’t matter whether he was successful or not if he didn’t want to be here
aside from that he has a lot of off years and I would say his time in Miami was one of those years
As DC here is his record
SF – 2011 – 2014
this was his best performance across the board. He was top 5 every year. I’m not sure why they fired him in 2014. Probaably a coaching change
Bears 2015 – 2018
middle of the pack in his first two years , got the defense up to 10th in his best year his final year in Chicago
Denver 2019 – 2021
got up to 8th in his final year. Middle of the pack every other year. Actually not good in his first year there
this is based on total defense
despite these numbers, I’ll be the first to praise Fangio. I wanted the Dolphins to hire him and was upset when he left.
what I’m getting at Mike, is that the Eagles defense shouldn’t be a platform to waive the white flag for Dolphins fans
the Eagles has a horrible end of season tank in 2023 just like the Dolphins. I love the way the eagles are built. I hope the Dolphins see that. I think they get the pass rush aspect as we have loaded up on pass rushers with our draft picks
but we aren’t anywhere as physical on the offensive side of the ball
we need to keep building our OL and our D
and McDaniel can learn from Siriani too
give up the playcalling duties
AND, let’s see, who did the Eagles draft with our 2022 1st round pick in the trade to move up for Waddle???
Arguably their best DL, big DT Jordan Davis. Are you f’ing kidding me?
We could of had WR Devonta Smith and Jordan Davis. SMH
GRIER NEEDS TO GOOOOOOOOOOOO
Piggy – I was waving the white flag long before the Eagles played in the SB. This team wasn’t built, it was put together all half assed
I know you were – I e been here the whole time…lol
I get your points Mike. Sometimes I agree and sometimes I don’t. I don’t agree that Fangio jumped ship because of what he saw in Miami. I think he always wanted to be in Philadelphia and we had to convince him to leave his advisor job to be our DC which he would have never taken of Philadelphia had their DC job available
The only thing I saw in the game last time was a Chiefs team that was told to throw the game. It was written all over their faces. Halftime was awful too. Just a boring game all around, but glad KC wasn’t handed another title. Just wondering how much of Philly was burnt down in celebration last night though.
Even Omar chiming in on the Grier draft blunders.
@OmarKelly
That year the Dolphins drafted TWO tight ends – Mike Gesicki in the 2nd and Durham Smythe in the 4th – then ADMITTED they did so because Gesicki couldn’t block.
Could have just drafted Goedart and used the 4th on something else.
That was a Chris Grier special. I’ll never let it go.
————-
Props MikeE, you wanted Goedert who is a receiving weapon and good blocker.
Gesicki – 325 receptions, 3,526 yards with 22 TD’s
Goedert – 349 receptions, 4,085 yards with 24 TD’s
@OmarKelly
I have a running list of dumb draft sh!t the Dolphins have done during the draft during my watch. That sits at No. 2, right behind trading for Josh Rosen.
Grier traded a 2019 2nd round pick #62 and a 2020 5th round pick for Josh Rosen. SMMFH
Who did we miss at #62 in 2019?
#64 WR DK Metcalf and #76 WR Terry McLaurin among others

don’t know what happened there…lol
we all watched this team go belly up for, what, a third of the season? That is not a mentally tough team. When Tua went down, players did not step up. They stepped back. You are what you are at your worst and most difficult times. I saw a whole lot of weak when this team was put in that situation.
Nobody gives a shit if the tough guy on your team is a WR. Guys on the LOS just laugh at that sorta thing. I realize the league is kind of going OL lite these days, but there’s a reason SB teams are almost always able to control the LOS. That’s why I’m focusing on OL/DL in this draft.
I’m focusing on OL/Dl this offseason too. That’s our priority. Even if it doesn’t lead to results this season – it’s probably going to help a new coach/gm duo if we bring that talent in
but remember, the Eagles also went belly up in 2023. They made the changes they needed too. They hired Fangio and they drafted DBs with there first two picks – they ere already pretty good up front, they actually got worse with Kelce retiring / but the Benton signing and conversion to OG worked out for them.
also – Saquan is probably the signing of the decade
the Eagles finished poorly in 2023. I think they were closer than we were at the end of the 2023 season though. Mainly bc they were so solid up front
I want to se the Dolphins adjust to their approach this offseason
changes they needed “to” not “too”
Mike – It was Rock who wanted Goedert
That’s right!! Don’t give Mike E Credit for that. He was all in for the Jersey boy!! Argued with me for years that gay sucky was better
😀
Piggy – I agree that Fangio was leaving no matter what, that’s not what I was arguing. I just think he got blasted for doing a shitty job, but I think MM’s culture didn’t help with his contrasting my way or the highway mentality. Either way, it didn’t work out here and he wanted to be in Philly
I don’t personally think he did a bad job
I would have kept him if he was willing. I also think the FO would have kept if if they could. But he re-signed (got out of his contract) and signed with Philly the next day.
I also think weaver did a better job with less than Fangio here – but afangio had the track record of success
piggy,
I’m just not sure what this regime thinks. They made choices over the past several years in how they built this team. It’s not a quick fix situation. It’ll be interesting to see where they go from here.
I have big questions about what they are thinking too
some of the paths they have chosen have been wrong, plain and simple
I’m keeping an eye on a couple of things this off-season:
I don’t think the play calling thing is crucial but I do think MM is hurting us by stubbornly refusing to give playcalling
I’m certain we’ll be addressing the O-Line, based on what Grier and McD stated in their exit interview at the end of the season… at least one via FA, and at least one via the Draft.
I’m more concerned about neglecting the D-Line, though that seems nearly impossible, being we only have 1 guy signed for ’25 (Zach Sieler).
The only thing that concerns me is going for shiny new toys for the Offense… something we do NOT need right now. We still have the fastest players in the NFL, now it’s time to focus on the trenches on both sides of the ball.
O
As for Vic Fangio and the discussion regarding him, I simply don’t care for the way he was treated and talked about by some of our younger players. Jevon Holland, goodbye. You are being paid as a professional, now act like a professional.
Holland pisses me off. He had a better season in ’23 WITH Fangio than he had in ’24 WITHOUT Fangio. Talk about biting the hand that feeds ya, SMH.
That Holland will be seeking upwards of $20M/year after his horrific showing this past season — and that he dissed Fangio, who is arguably the best DC in a generation — really hits me the wrong way.
Do NOT re-sign that punk, period… not even for $10M/year.
Richie Grant & Xavier Watts sounds like a dream team compared to Jevon Holland & Jordan Poyer.

Omar seems to forget who the HC was when we drafted Gesicki and Smythe. They were stellar picks for the Offense we were running back then and universally praised.
Even lil’ ol’ me got those picks right, so it’s difficult to blame Grier… who was shopping for the groceries for Adam Gase.
Seriously, Dallas Goedert (who Omar can’t even spell correctly) was never a seam-threat TE… which is what Gase needed and wanted. Hence, he wanted the best seam-threat TE available: Mike Gesicki, be damned if he couldn’t block. And he wanted to include a blocking TE for short-yardage sits: Durham Smythe.
C’mon, Omar!
2018 was a LONG time ago, when we drafted Mike Gesicki and Durham Smythe… we’re talking two HCs ago.
And who hires and fires these HCs? STEVE ROSS!
And if the GM has a say in hiring and firing these HCs, who has played a role? CHRIS GRIER!
And who elevated Chris Grier to GM? STEVE ROSS!

Know what really pisses me off today, LOL? We’ve all seen some outstanding video quality over the last 10-15 years. Yet when ya watch it today, it seems as though it was filmed in the 60s for crying out loud.
Why is that? And NO, it’s not that we’re used to 4K! Seriously, that’s fucked up! WHO decides to intentionally degrade stellar video from a few years ago, so as to make it look ancient?!! SMMFH 😡
I hate that I missed the Fangio discussion, but I agree with Piggy for the most part. Fangio never wanted to be here and was pining for that really good Philly talent the entire year he was here. He pushed himself out. At the same time, our players are soft, and this team is poorly built with a very weak HC.
Weaver did more with what he had but I think Fangio is the overall better DC at this point. Maybe Weaver gets there though. One of our problems is that McDaniel and Grier are not talented enough to bring top coaching talent across the board. I doubt top offensive minds want to play second fiddle to McDaniel and only young guys wanting to make a name will come to a place where the defensive talent isn’t a real priority. I hope that changes this year though…after we pick up 3-4 OL. Philly is built just right and that formula has worked for over 50 years in the NFL. It blows my mind teams don’t just follow common football sense. The game begins and ends in the trenches.
Bbm you’re good at draft analysis but anyone can choose any selection of any draft and find player who were left o. The board
…left on the board who turned out better.”
I’m not convinced Grier nor McDaniels have been the problem. But Im concerned about the rhetoric revolving around Fangio. Maybe we are soft?
That said, thank you Piggy for reminding me that Fangio was a rental.

I think we’re soft because of Mike McDaniel. There is evidence to support this. He tries to be players friends. I know some people think the days of Shula and other disciplinarians are gone, but you have to respect and to some degree fear your Head Coach that he will hold you accountable and there will be a price to pay if you do something he doesn’t like. What other reason could you possibly attribute to the team being soft?
i read the Eagles didn’t blitz one time in the SB!
That’s amazing to me. Kudos!
That’s a defense…lol
I’m hoping this opens up the AFC. It’s almost like the top AFC teams have a mental block when it comes to the Chiefs (Patriots) but could also be about being poorly built to beat them as well. I think Philly would beat them 75% of the time if they played 100 games. They are just that good.

I disagree with one word, the use of the word “fear.” You don’t need to be afraid to do your job, you just need to be held accountable and KNOW you will be held accountable, i.e. consequences, and some behavior, like quitting during a game, is inexcusable, at least in my book.
Some cancers metastisize quickly. It’s not about fear, it’s about being a leader and leaders have to draw lines. Lol…

Jahn, I was just throwing names out there, of course anyone can go back to any draft and say we should have taken this guy “look how he turned out”.
I was mainly just pointing out the waste of a 1st round pick in 2022 and a 2nd round pick in 2019.

Krishna – Not fear to play, fear that your actions have ramifications, your play, hustle, attitude and all those things matter. If players don’t worry about those things, the team suffers. You know, like regular people who work have. We’re accountable for everything.
You don’t get what I’m saying and not sure why
Fear is not a motivating factor….at least not for me.
I wonder sometimes if fearlessness is a weakness….lol

😆 AGREED!
That was seriously one of the worst Halftime shows I’ve ever witnessed, and it started with tabbing Kendrick Lamar to be the main event to begin with. Dude is weak, his flow sucks, his beats suck (and Dr. Dre is one of his main producers), and his main audience is comprised of teeny-boppers.
What a disgrace to the West Coast. SMH
The fewer times an artist says ‘I’ or ‘me’, the greater the artist and the greater the story-teller.
Only thing I truly enjoyed about the Halftime show? It was the first time in a long time I didn’t see any occult or satanic imagery.
LOL to think artists used to exercise their voices that way…
“ME ME ME ME” (in my baritone)
I agree with your story telling statement. Nothing ruins a story, poem or song faster than I, I, I, I, me, me, me me.

That’s something, to be sure! We need to replicate as much, and it begins with drafting the right players in the DF7… especially on the D-Line, in our case.
As such, Walter Nolen is a guy on the rise. #2 run-stopper in college last season, his pass-rushing prowess is only going to get better as a pro being his get-off is stellar, and his ceiling is immense.
Eight (8!) glorious minutes of Walter Nolen being Walter Nolen. Just imagine him lined up next to Zach Sieler…

I don’t know why he doesn’t rank higher in pass rush. He creates pressure for others to make a play and 10.5 sacks over the last 2 seasons as a DT is not bad. That’s how many Wilkins had over his last 2 seasons in college.

It should go without saying that I’m signing a VERY GOOD Guard via FA… perhaps even two.
I like it! My only concern would be the OL guys. I like Grant a lot and is perfect for our system. Though He had to put on 15 pounds just to get to 300 for last season. He has about peaked as far as getting any bigger at 6’4, 300. Then Lampkin at 5’11, 290 on the high end. Having either one of them start at either OG position next to 6’1, 295 Brewer and I think we will never be running up the middle. LOL
I could be wrong as I really don’t know anything about OL play.
IMO, Lampkin would be our backup C/G… hence taking him as late as I had. Grant? I know, it may take him a couple of years to be up to snuff.
I’m definitely using FA to sign at least one, if not two starting Guards (pick your poison).
And I must say, I’ve betrayed myself in picking Grant and Lampkin. We need BIGGER BODIES on the O-Line!
I’ll do better next time in my next mock Draft.
BBM, you are one COOL cat, man! You made me realize my mistake without calling me out on it. #RESPECT!
We need BIGGER bodies on both sides of the trenches. Thus, I shouldn’t be looking at either of the under-sized Grant or Lampkin.
I just hope Coach McD has LEARNED!
Mike E:
I understand your concern that a coach like McDaniels leads to soft play bit I simply don’t believe it’s black and white anymore. Pete Carrol, Andy Reid, eother Harbaugh brother, they are neither pure disciplinarian nor players coaches. I think you just treat them like men and hold them accountable. It’s really difficult for a guy making a couple million to get a guy making 20x his salary to just fall in line. If we’re soft tbh, the first player that should be made an example of is Tyreek Hill. That’s not so easy to do.
I do want you to know I’ve been reading and I feel your frustration, and I’m not here to say your take is wrong. Respect
Bbm, honestly your point was well taken by me. I only commented bc you said names that got my attention lol….

Nah man, I really like Grant’s skills in the ZBS. Probably the best at it in the draft. I have taken him many times in my mocks. Only said something when when I saw Lampkin also. Would love to have Grant as one of the OL we draft.
I can’t type in the little bottom box anymore. Typing this at WordPress. Anybody else having issues? I did just update my IPod.
I was having problems with double posting.
Dolphins to hire Bobby Slowik, ex-Houston offensive coordinator
I heard his title was going to be senior pass game coordinator. I believe he was with MM on the 49er’s staff. I wonder if he might take over play calling (one would hope).
A big day 3 RB to keep an eye on. Tahj Brooks, 5’10, 230 maybe a 4.6 forty. Dude has some serious jump cut ability at his size.
He’s a good blocking RB also
I don’t think we will draft Jeanty but I still like doing these mocks..,lol
