Yes, folks, time to bring out the iconic photo that was not AI created that best represents this organization. I’m going to tell you , and I think those of you that know me, right before this week, you can see I was relenting to pull myself out of the just absolute pure hatred and disdain for the guys running this team and I made the 180 and I was going to try and be hopeful that they could ace this draft and get this team to a point where we could compete this season. All that just went right down the drain with the Jalen Ramsey news that came out yesterday. Let me explain why this should really be the final nail in the coffin for these clowns, Ross, Grier and McDaniel.
Let’s start with March of 2022 when the Dolphins made a philosophical change and tried to buy a championship here in Miami. Keep in mind, and this very important, that the Dolphins had 2 players that they drafted and got to the point where they were becoming the best players on either side of the ball for this team, DT/DE Christian Wilkins that they drafted #13 in the 2019 draft. In 2020, the Dolphins took big Robert Hunt, OG from Louisiana in RD 2 #39. While these 2 players, Wilkins and Hunt are developing nicely, the Dolphins instead of preparing to reward 2 players that they actually hit on in the draft, developed, and were the two best players respectively on the defensive and offensive lines, they shifted towards making a quick ascent to the top by acquiring WR Tyreek Hill from the Chiefs in March of 2022. The Dolphins surrendered a boatload of picks to get Tyreek Hill, a 2022 1st RD pick (#29), a 2024 2nd RD pick (#50), 2023 4th RD and 6th RD picks in 2023. The following year, again in March of 2023, (Beware the Ides of March?), the Dolphins acquired DB Jalen Ramsey from the LA Rams. We didn’t give up much to get him, TE Hunter Long who could never get going here, and a 3rd RD pick in the 2023 NFL Draft. The Dolphins also traded for OLB Bradley Chubb, surrendering more draft capital, the Dolphins sending their 2023 1st RD pick, 1 2024 4th RD pick in exchange for Chubb and RB Chase Edmonds. Here’s where the biggest problem starts . . .
Chris Grier gives Jalen Ramsey a 3YR/$72.3M extension in September of 2024, this already after jettisoning both DT/DE Christian Wilkins and OG Robert Hunt. To recap, the Dolphins acquire 3 players, WR Tyreek Hill, DB Jalen Ramsey and OLB Bradley Chubb. Hill 28 years old, Ramsey 29 years old and Bradley Chubb 26 years old. They let go players they drafted and developed, and if you follow the Dolphins, you damn well know how few players we actually hit on in the draft, so they let go Wilkins, 28 heading into his second contract, and Robert Hunt 28 also heading into his second contract. So they decided to pay guys they acquired from other teams and pay them, give up loads of draft picks, and then say goodbye to two of the best guys you actually drafted. But that’s not even the kicker! The kicker is, you give DB Jalen Ramsey this 3 year extension for $74M, and then in April of 2025, you report that both the team and Jalen Ramsey have mutually agreed that he should seek a trade. WHAT THE FUCKING FUCK!!!!!!!
7 months ago, Jalen Ramsey had no problem grabbing the money, and now he wants out? Listen, I’ve been telling you all this roster that Grier has cobbled together is a dumpster fire, basically just filling roster spots with low cost players that are available and fit into our compromised salary cap situation. That’s the story, we did it last season, but we got lucky on two fronts. Terron Armstead was a warrior and he played nearly the entire season on a bad leg. Equally as important, Grier totally lucked out with DT/DE Calais Campbell both being available and then signing with us, after bringing in a whole bunch of JAGS also on 1 year contracts that were one by one let go until Calais Campbell came on board. Sooooo, besides CB, where are the two biggest holes???? Wellll, whaddaya know Chris, DT/DE and OG!!! Hey, remember Christian Wilkins and Robert Hunt? Sure would be nice to have those guys!
Those are the some of the worst moves, but I haven’t discussed the other worst move. I fucking begged the Dolphins to play QB Tua Tagovailoa on his 5th year option. BEGGED!!! Every article I pleaded for some sanity and foresight. I hear the cries of the Tua defenders, “OMG, if he plays great, like he did in 2023, we’ll have to pay him a GAZILLION DOLLARS!!!!!” I told you 2023 was a mirage. He played the entire season in bubble wrap, was so careful not to get hit, and mind you, that’s Tua at his best, and he STILL COULDN’T BEAT A GOOD TEAM OR EVEN PLAY HALFWAY DECENT IN A PLAYOFF GAME!!! Let me ask you, if we played Tua on his 5th year contract, what do you think he would be worth right now after missing 6 games last season? Surely, NOT $212M!!!! So many mistakes, starting with trying to buy a championship acquiring other teams guys, then paying them, 3 YR/$74M for Ramsey, in 2024, the Dolphins restructured WR Tyreek Hill’s contract to a 3 YR/$90M winner. Tyreek Hill, the 30 year old WR who couldn’t even manage 1000 yards receiving last season. The very same Tyreek Hill who pulled himself from the season finale last season because he was frustrated, Team Captain Tyreek Hill.
Just to give you some more perspective on the shitshow that is unraveling before us, in GM Chris Grier’s press conference the other day, when asked about team leaders, Grier mentions Zach Sieler, Tyreek Hill, Jaylen Waddle, Alec Ingold and Austin Jackson. Who DOESN’T Grier mention? You guessed it, “The Frajeel”, the $212M crystal chandelier, QB Tua Tagovailoa. Completely omitted and forgotten. Does all this get Grier fired? I think we know the answer is probably no. Just as important, WTF does this team do going forward? Are we able to get decent compensation for Jalen Ramsey? If we can’t, does he stay here with the rest of the misfit toys on this roster? I swear I was starting to hope we could have a strong draft and then Grier goes ahead an opens up a huge hole in the defense with the Jalen Ramsey news. Just a tremendous clusterfuck, and really, so unfair to Dolphins fans. It really is.

Hoping Ramsey is a draft day trade and we get a 3rd RD pick back for him. That will give us some flexibility trying to fill 30 holes. lol
it’s a much bigger cap implication if we don’t wait until 6/1. I’d prefer to wait and then get something for next year.
Not a bad draft by NFL on ClutchPoints. Only thing is, I think they reach on RJ Mickens and WR Mumpfield. Also, no way Kandra lasts to 224.
#13 CB Will Johnson
#48 DT Alfred Collins
#98 S R.J. Mickens
#116 OT Anthony Belton
#135 CB Mellow Dotson
#150 WR Konata Mumpfield
#155 TE Thomas Fidone
#224 OG Luke Kandra
#231 DT Cam Horsley
#253 QB Seth Henigan
funny, I did a mock this morning and picked Mickens at the same spot for the first time. He must be moving up mock boards because I don’t really remember seeing him.
TBH, I never really checked him out. Just went by media draft boards.
NAPLES, what’s the skinny on Mickens???
Mickens is a mid day 3 guy and Mumpfield is a 7th to UDFA all day. I like Mumpfield as a possible 7th. He reminds me of a poor man’s Landry. He’s built thick, has a quick burst, knows how to get open and has superb hands. He’s just slow like Landry. We just don’t need another slot WR.
Brian – cap implications this year or next? This year is toast, so I couldn’t care less if we have zero cap, in fact I might prefer that so these goons can’t use it.
If I remember correctly, it’s $12 million more pre 6/1. Not sure this year or next . That what we have BBM for .
lol, yeah, per spotrac, we have the cap now to absorb the extra cap hit on Ramsey and Tyreek then still have possibly enough to sign the rookies but nothing more. Either way, they would have to extend or restructure someone like Seiler to clear a little more cap for contingencies.
I also have always liked TE Fidone. He’s a very good receiving TE and decent blocker but he has had several knee injuries. I think he is a risk at #155. If he didn’t have the knee injury history, he would be talked about on day 2.
I guess Mickens is one of those mixed review guys. PFF ranks him at 108 while ESPN ranks him 216 and draftbuzz 220.
“His best fit at the next level will be with a defense that employs multiple coverage looks and isn’t afraid to move their safeties around. Teams running heavy Cover-2 or quarters concepts will particularly value his ability to read and react in zone while bringing the thunder against the run.” Say he has high football IQ.
Other remarks are very solid floor but ceiling not as high as others. Not an immediate starter but likely to develop into a solid starter.
I just saw on the PFN simulator that Mickens is now ranked at #136
I think this was from the same guy who said the Dolphins should reset now by trading Tua, Ramsey and Hill.
Now, he adds trading Jannu Smith as he is a FA next year and coming off his best season ever.
What I don’t get is he suggests trading him to the Jaguars for pick 182. As the Jags lost TE Engram in FA. I would think after the year he had we could get more. IMO, that trade would not be worth it.
Seems he would be more worth Jags 4th at 107 or 126.
We should extend Sieler regardless. He’s one of the few guys on this team that actually deserves to be paid
I would prefer to have no money left this season so these idiots have to lie in the bed they made, like my parents always said, “You made your bed, now sleep in it!”
Yes, I would love to have Sieler retire a Dolphin.
Also, I saw CB Korie Black is now ranked at #144. He is one the Dolphins had in on a top 30 visit. Must be a guy Weaver likes.
Easter Mock Draft
25. Derrick Harmon DT Oregon
48. Benjamin Morrison CB Notre Dame
54. Wyatt Milum OG West Virginia
89. Kevin Winston Jr. S Penn State

224. Kurtis Rourke QB Indiana
231. C.J. Dippre TE Alabama
237. Jacory Croskey-Merritt RB Arizona
253. Isaiah Neyor WR Nebraska
BBM add 2 monsters at WR.
Savion Williams, 6’4, 222, 4.48 forty
Isaiah Neyor, 6’4, 218, 4.4 forty
Frankly, trading a guy like Sieler right now is possibly a good move. His value will probably never be greater, and his play is likely to start declining. I’m not suggesting we do it, but that’s the sort of move a team looking to the future makes. What will his contribution to this team be in 3 years? Does anybody believe we truly have a legitimate shot to compete for a SB before that?
Plus, what is he going to ask for in his next contract, and will this team pay him? If he’s going to be allowed to walk anyway, why not get something for him? Again, I’m just running thru the scenario from a biz view.
He could be next man up in these Athalon Sports trade scenarios. lol
Dammit. WP is a bitch!
From the other side, I really don’t think you’d get a great trade package for Sieler so you have to weigh the options. My guess is the trade value wouldn’t be there to make the move, but if he asks for $15M/year do they pay him?
Tough question
He’s still under contract next year. I guess wait and see what he does this year and if he still plays at this high level. He has been playing a ridiculous number of snaps. It’s going to take its toll at some point.
Interesting prospect on the Dolphins radar from a top 30 visit.
From 33RDTEAM draft sleepers:
Oklahoma State cornerback Korie Black is big, fast, productive, and experienced. That’s an archetype of player that doesn’t stay on the board for very long. At 6002/192, with a 79th percentile wingspan, Black ran a 4.35 in the 40-yard dash and posted a 39-inch vertical jump. Darien Porter was the only other ≥ 6’0” cornerback in this class to run a 4.35 or faster.
Black has three years of starting experience and over 2,300 career snaps, but he’ll only be 22 years old when he gets drafted.
Many college defensive backs benefit from zone-heavy schemes that limit their exposure and inflate their production, but Black played 48.3% of his snaps in man coverage last year. Korie Black was almost playing a different sport than players like Jahdae Barron (17.9% man coverage rate), Will Johnson (13.7%), and Quincey Riley (18.4%), who will likely get drafted a day or two ahead of him.
He’s also a ST’s ace and blocked several FG’s.
Also, on 33RDTEAM’s draft sleepers list was Herd’s guy from Marshall (she posted yesterday) who made a top 30 visit with the Dolphins.
Safety J.J. Roberts led the FBS with twelve forced incompletions in 2024, and he followed up his monster season with a dominant pro day. His 1.46 10-yard split (99th percentile) was the second fastest among all players in the 2025 class and the best among defensive backs. His 40-yard dash, short shuttle, 3-cone, and vertical jump were all 86th percentile or better. At just 192-pounds, Roberts is built more like a nickel, and his lack of size is the biggest knock on him as a prospect. But I think his athleticism and coverage skills are special enough to earn him a role in the NFL.
You don’t have to get very deep into J.J. Roberts’ tape to confirm that he’s more than just a workout warrior. His speed and burst show up consistently and make him a force in deep zone coverage. Roberts is a pure deep safety, which is a rarity in today’s NFL. He lined up at free safety on over 71% of his defensive snaps last year.
He has the range to patrol the sidelines from single-high and the explosiveness to drive on passing lanes over the middle of the field. When he plants and drives on an in-breaking route he looks like he was shot out of a cannon. But Roberts brings a lot more to the table than just raw athleticism. At free safety, he has very good field vision and is capable of processing routes in his peripheral while keeping his eyes on the quarterback.
The 3rd player in the article from 33rdteam was this OG prospect that I don’t remember seeing his name come up in the draft simulator.
After three years as Kansas’ starting right tackle, Bryce Cabeldue moved to the left side of the line in 2024 and had the best season of his career. Based on his final year of tape and his pro day performance, I expect Cabeldue to be an early day three pick. He’ll most likely play guard in the NFL, but his experience playing both tackle spots could be valuable in an emergency. Cabeldue is a phenomenal run blocker with a blend of power, explosiveness, and balance that will allow him thrive in any offensive scheme. His movement skills are hard to miss on tape, but he put on a show at Kansas’ pro day and verified his athletic ability.
His 4.95 40-yard dash and 114-inch broad jump were both third best among offensive linemen in the 2025 class. He also had an 80th percentile short shuttle, which is the most translatable drill for offensive linemen.
Cabeldue’s film is littered with pancakes, textbook reach blocks, and athletic blocks in open space. Watch any of Devin Neal’s 16 touchdowns from last year and there’s a good chance Cabeldue is the one leading the way and carving an open rushing lane. His tape is especially easy to project to the next level because he’s proven the ability to execute any block on any rushing concept.
Cabeldue’s an exceptional zone blocker who can secure difficult backside cutoffs with ease. He has the burst out of his stance to win leverage off the snap and the hip flexibility to seal the defender out of his gap. His explosiveness also results in quick, decisive wins on angle drive blocks, as he surges into his fit and generates displacement on initial contact. When pulling or climbing to the second level, Cabeldue is balanced connecting to moving targets and coordinated sustaining the block. He has the versatility and finishing mentality to upgrade an NFL running game early in his career.
For some reason I feel like the name Cabeldue is a player name Piggy would like. lol
He’s ranked 399 is why you haven’t seen his name
399. Bryce Cabeldue OT Kansas
I have to say, I just reread my article. Although of course you could feel the hatred and anger so strongly, I think I outlined the entire situation pretty accurately and fairly. I also realize how screwed up we are, and if we don’t get rid of the clowns running the circus, we shouldn’t expect any better next season or beyond. I wish the Ramsey news came out much earlier so we could have fired Grier and have someone else make these draft selections. Crazy that the architect of this mess is the one making the selections and trades in this draft.
Yep. You laid out facts. Not sure any defense can be made for this utter failure of a “rebuild”.
Also, for clarification (As if we needed any), fragile in Italian is spelled fragile just like it is in English, and pronounced frah-juh-luh, but I know so many Sicilians living in the NY/NJ area and they leave off the last vowel sound on everything, Muzzarel, Calamad, Gabbagool etc. So frah-juh-luh just becomes Fra-Jeel, which sounds so much better to me. LOL
😂😂😂
I grew up on Long Island and had an Italian stepfather: I’m well aware of the pronunciations!

Draft is 3 days away and all I feel for this team is dread . . .
Feels like Sunday Morning…
Or Monday morning
Bobby Shouse
Per source, former Dolphins cornerback Nik Needham has signed with the Cleveland Browns. He starts OTA’s today,
Thought he would have gotten picked up sooner. Good for him!
Today is the start of Dolphins phase 1 voluntary workouts.
will anyone show up?
https://x.com/MiamiDolphins/status/1914347093231079612/video/1
Looking at these Monday morning mock drafts, I have seen 2 so far predicting Miami to take a RB in the first 3 picks. One had Miami taking Jeanty at #13 then Donovan Jackson at #48 to play LG. They state the reason being as the Dolphins will use Achane even more in the passing game in the progression to move him to WR as replacement there for Hill in the future. I mentioned that before as a possibility.
we are officially in the loopey stage of the mock
draft season
everyone is trying something “new” to set themselves apart…
Ha! I just mentioned this guy yesterday as a sleeper. Ryder must have saw the same article.
Achane is more of a third down back. I don’t know why they don’t use him more that way and have Wright take more reps. Achane is a home run hitter, but he’s struggled with the physicality too. Is this new?
It worried me that they used him much like a bell cow last year. Wright is built more for that.
BBM,
I really thought Wright and Achane could be a nice combination. Our struggles in the run game weren’t all on the OL. MM made some decisions in personnel and game planning that just didn’t work. Or, he didn’t change things up. His in-game adjustments were either nonexistent or didn’t work.
100%, I put a whole lot of blame on MM. Teams have figured him out and he brings nothing new.
A late day 3 sleeper ILB.
we don’t need another LB, we could use someone at every position except LB
What’s wrong with taking an ILB in the 7th or UDFA? Players taken there are just projects anyway, except maybe a RB. Brooks and Dodson are the only ILB’s on the roster in 2026 and that is their last season under contract.
We are stacked at TE right now, so I guess we don’t need to draft one of them right now either. Even though we have none under contract in 2026.
we have a blocking TE and a receiving TE, none of the others are worth keeping, except maybe Rucci
at ILB we have Britt, Brooks, Dodson Gay and Tindall, where do you see a roster spot for 1 more? Not sure what 2026 has to do with this season. Do we draft an LB late and hold him for a year at the expense of one of these 5?
Tindall can be beaten out, but is he even making the 53? I’d say no
I disagree strongly with your assessment. We have a bunch of nobody’s at LB

Like many on here, I was calling for Wright to be used more all season. He got very limited carried, but always seemed to make something happen when he touched the ball.
We hear so much about McD’s intelligence. I think he may be a guy who is a great position coach- who can focus in on technique and help a player’s individual game. We’ve heard the testimonials from players in that regard.
But that doesn’t necessarily translate to being able to put together a great game plan, make in game adjustments for the team, manage the clock, make great personnel decisions, manage a whole team of personalities in a way that gets the most out of players, and on and on.
I haven’t seen much in the way of ability to adjust in any regard from McDaniel.
I’m pretty dang sure about McD not being a very good coach, but I do still wonder if he might be able to grow in the role. But he’s hitched to Tua, so….
I have no doubt about Grier needing to go.
🧁 needs to relinquish his playcalling duties
he’s put too much on his plate
until he does that he won’t be able to in game adjust
That is probably a good idea to see if he can get a handle on the other aspects of coaching. I know he’s talked about it, doubt he does give them up though.
27. Baltimore Ravens
Kenneth Grant, DT, Michigan
The Ravens are always open to taking the best player available, and they have even more of a reason to do that this year with 11 draft picks (tied for the most in the NFL).
I can’t stomach this pick, not sold on the CBs available at 13, OL if one falls OK take him, but having Grant would allow us to compete this year
other DTs at 13 could do the same, I’d rather drop back and take Grant
^
Fins should get innovative and let the fans vote for the draft picks. I don’t see it being any worse.
Every position is a need, except kickers because who cares anyway. What a roster Grier has assembled over the years.
It seems to me with Mostert and Wilson gone that opens the door for Wright to get more touches. I think Mattison is vet depth and situational because of his experience and well rounded skills.
Didn’t it bother you how little Wright was used last season?
Not really it was more of a get your feet wet rookie season and then transition into a bigger role in his 2nd season.
no, the OL was so bad what was the point
Looks as though Kelvin Banks is picking up some steam as we’re in the final stretch of the pre-Draft days. I just viewed 3 reputable mock drafts today where he goes top-10. Not good.
Banks is my predictive selection for us @ R1P13, while Walter Nolen is MY pick for us @ R1P13.
I like DT Derrick Harmon, he reminds me of a mix of Wilkins and Sieler. He lines up all over the place.
I think Harmon would be a decent selection for us, just not @ R1P13… perhaps after a trade down.
I feel Harmon @ R1P13 would be a case of over-drafting.
Seeing the same. Top 3 OL going by pick #11, most cases top 10. TBH, if no one is willing to trade up with the Dolphins, I am fine with taking any of Nolen, Grant or Harmon at #13. They won’t be there at #48.
Draft thoughts and questions…
— What the Saints do @ R1P9 is going to be very curious, with Derek Carr’s injury situation and little help behind him in their QB room.
— The Stealers* might move up for a QB from R1P21 to ensure they get a QB they want. If the Brownies and G-Men pass on QB @ R1P2 and R1P3 respectively, they might try to trade up from their 2nd round picks to beat the Stealers* to, say, Jackson Dart.
— How far could Shedeur Sanders fall?
— Mason Graham just might slip a bit, but not too far.
— How many pass-rushers go before we pick @ R1P13, pushing more talent down to us?
— Could Jahdae Barron go off the board before Will Johnson?
— I can’t see ‘man-crush’ Tyler Warren going any later than the Colts @ R1P14, but is he off the board before we select @ R1P13, pushing more talent down to us?
— I could absolutely see the Chargers trading up for one of Harbaugh’s elite former Michigan players.
— Who do the 49ers select @ R1P11? They are our ‘sister team’, if you will… and they are linked to several players we also are interested in.
I absolutely see a path for a trade down scenario from R1P13, but I do NOT want to trade down too far (see the 2010 Draft, where we went from R1P12 to R1P28). Ideally, we trade down to the late teens and garner an additional late 2nd or early 3rd round pick.
*Jaxson Dart
there’s so many guys who’d be good 1st rd picks for us, for that reason I prefer to trade back
there’s a few that we can’t pass up at 13
I absolutely agree with that, Steve.
Joe Schad
Super Agent Drew Rosenhaus on Lexus SportsXtra on WSVN regarding Dolphins pick 13: “The Dolphins are going to look really hard at CB, S, DT. But I’m gonna say corner first, and I’m gonna roll with Will Johnson. Runner-up would be Jahdae Barron of Texas. Second round, DT.”
Will Johnson is the wildcard if he’s still available @ R1P13. This is what I’ve been telling Mike E for some time now. We would almost HAVE to take him. We’ll see…
read an article about the Steelers need for a QB, what if they don’t get one by June 1st
would you trade them Zach Wilson?
I would, but I don’t think the Stealers* would want him, nor would Coach McD want to trade him.
I don’t buy the BS about guys moving up/down draft boards this close to the draft
these guys that have draft boards are just guessing, teams are sending smoke signals left and right at them
This is TRUE! It’s smoke season!
Who do the 49ers select @ R1P11? They are our ‘sister team’, if you will… and they are linked to several players we also are interested in.
————–
Many are predicting 49er’s to take Kelvin Banks at #11 to replace Aaron Banks on their OL.
Could be WR
Or could be DT. I have seen them linked to Nolen and Harmon at #11.
I don’t think teams give RBs a year to get into the flow. Teams usually use up young RBs quick and often. I’d believe that if the team has an established vet taking snaps but that was not the situation here. Why not use Wright and let him go into his second season having already gotten lots of touches? Maybe he wasn’t reliable in protection or he lacked something but don’t you want to give him reps at correcting those things too?
My point exactly! Only the friggin Dolphins redshirt a RB
According to reports last season, Wright wasn’t up to snuff regarding the playbook.
Ikhine is supposed to be a good blocking WR, we lacked one for most of last year, only really Cracraft
maybe he helps spring Achane at times
VERY good point.
I think Drew Rosenhaus is spot on and our first 2 picks will be CB then DT. Dolphins are looking hard a CB. Second, I have seen many reports that Weaver loves DT Alfred Collins who was a top 30 visit. I really think Collins is almost a lock at #48.
Collins is a lot like Raekwon Davis
worst case scenario is Grier get impatient and trades up in the second to get him. Or anyone for that matter.
So are we going to do our annual FMU mock draft or not?
I’m open for it tomorrow evening… who is in?
I really want BBMike to be a part of it, and being he’s got a big day ahead of him on Wednesday, let’s not kick it off too late, ya know?
Thanks Brother! Actually, going out for a good dinner tomorrow evening to a new local Cajun restaurant then hitting the bed early.
Y’all got this!
And we’ve got YOU, my Brother!
2 guarantees in the draft
Ward goes first and Grief will do something unpopular, resulting with lots of people loosing their shit
I have been taking Alfred Collins in my Mocks a lot but only because the Dolphins seem to like him. This past weekend, I watched Collins vs the Georgia OL and didn’t come away impressed. I was more impressed with every IOL player on the Bulldogs. I think any one of them could be a plug and play OG in the NFL, including their center.
Steve is right in his comp of Collins and Davis. I just didn’t see Collins win much or create push same as Davis. Collins has a little more ass than Davis, but nothing wowed me. Collins may have the same problem as Davis in being to tall for a NT but not athletic enough to play elsewhere.
Collins is better at holding his ground and fighting off blocks better than Davis, uses his length to his advantage. UGA OG Tate Ratledge held Collins check every time they lined up on each other. Ratledge even moved him in the run game.
M – Hate it so say this, but we traded a 2025 3rd RD pick to draft a RB that can’t digest the playbook? Shame on Grier. Think about it . . .
let’s say he works out. Grier still lost in that trade because he gave up a third rounder for fourth round pick. Let’s say he stands Pat- Skattebo should be there at 98 and he’s every bit as good as Wright, probably better. Oh, and this years RB class is pretty deep. This are the seemingly small mistakes that over the course of the last decade, have decimated this team.
I see it as Achane/Wright/Mattison this year, who cares about last year. Achane also serves as a primary receiver. I really like our backfield.
Same, I still think they use Achane just as much or more in the passing game. Also interested to see if they draft another RB or who they bring in as an UDFA RB. Their will be some good leftovers at that position when the draft is over.
Ryder said don’t be surprised to see the Dolphins take a WR, RB or TE at #98. He says that seems to be the spot where Grier lets MM do the shopping.
Skattebo. I love him for our offense, but that would emphasize my point above

M – Hate it so say this, but we traded a 2025 3rd RD pick to draft a RB that can’t digest the playbook? Shame on Grier. Think about it . . .
———-
Not much to think about, man. I hated the trade when it happened last year, and I still hate it today. That’s nothing against Wright as a player, but we needed help elsewhere (MORE O-LINE, PLEASE!!!) in the Draft last year.
I share your disgust.
Now if Wright works out? Good! It would be hard to argue against Grier doing what he did. But if Wright is the next DT3? Oh boy…
My MAJOR disgust is that our Offense comes down from the Shanahan tree: build a brilliant O-Line, and you can sign an UDFA RB to run for over 1,000 yards.
We had no business drafting a RB so early in Wright, borrowing from the ’25 draft cabinet as Grier had done.
Ryder did a long video on his top picks for the Dolphins. He thinks Banks is overrated and has a problem with balance. Ryder was an OL in HS and college so I kind of trust him on those evals. He feels any OL at #13 outside of Campbell and Membou are a reach. With certain players expected to be off the board, his top picks were Will Johnson, Barron and DT Grant at #13 despite his BPA would actually be Tyler Warren over those 3. He mentioned Harmon having a medical red flag also but didn’t say what it was.
He said don’t expect Dolphins to take Banks at #13 as that was Todd McShay’s pick for them there.
He talked about Johnson’s medical red flags but thinks he is a perfect fit for Weaver’s system.
He doesn’t see the Dolphins trading down as there is really no one a team would want to trade up for.
I like Ryder a lot, but I humbly disagree with his assessments you listed above.
But, of course… YES (no shit, Sherlock!): Will Johnson fits Weaver’s scheme to a ‘T’.
He still thinks Banks is worth a 1st round pick and a good player. He has him on his next tier of 1st rounders if the Dolphins traded down 5 or more spots.
Also, he only had Warren a BPA over Will Johnson now because Johnson also has a medical red flag for a knee issue. Before that, he wasn’t concerned about the minor stuff. Johnson was his top pick at #13 for months now.
Sports Illustrated’s Albert Breer says teams are a bit nervous about a knee injury that’s been “flagged” by NFL teams during the pre-draft process.
DL, OL and CB are our biggest needs. Just don’t pass on special if they fall for some reason. We have enough picks to address needs.
IF we draft another RB before day 2 of the Draft ends this year, I lose my mind. PLUS… I’m going to be calling for the circus to END.
Ryder said his brother worked in the Rams organization when Ramsey was with the Rams. His brother said Ramsey was always skipping practices or showing up late to meetings. Ryder wonders if that became an issue on the Dolphins and this is why they want to move on from him.
Weaver likes to run cover 2 and 3 mixing in blitzes. That is why ILB is important and we have a nice trio.
Exactly, that is what I was thinking when I posted the video on Memphis ILB Chandler Martin or when I mock Teddye Buchanan to us.
in order to trade down, you need to find someone to trade up; that’s easier said than done. The only way I see it happening is if someone really wants Dart, or Warren is sitting there and someone wants to jump the Colts.
Yeah, I am not sure who the TE needy teams are other than the Colts.
There could be someone wanting to move up that high for Dart but I think anyone trading down is going to get less than what the chart predicts. It’s one of those drafts.
possibly Cincy, Denver. Some teams fall in love with certain guys
M – My disgust is because he traded a future 3rd RD pick to get a guy in the draft last year that he didn’t evaluate properly. How do you do that? Imagine the RB we could get this year in the 3rd, or really think about other positions we can find talent in RD 3. Just another fuck up in a big ole box of fuck ups!
see me reply to you above…
👍
Another trade rumor out. Raiders need a CB and not looking to draft one at #6. Raiders have plenty of cap space and with the addition of Geno Smith, they feel they are a couple pieces from being a contender now.
They feel the Dolphins could get a deal done for Raiders early 4th round pick #108 or could package Ramsey and a pick for pick #68 in top of 3rd round.
I wish the Vikings had more pics. They could use Ramsey, and it’s a SB team which may be enticing for Ramsey. But, I think MN only has 4 picks or something like that.

LOL I was going to comment on that.
Ian Rappaport was talking about the Broncos possibly trading up to get a WR
makes sense that a team that made the postseason and is looking to take the next step does something aggressive
so something to keep an eye on
They can take Tyreek Hill, he’s a leader, and we’re willing to part with him for a 3rd RD pick right now
LOL at your sarcasm on: “he’s a leader”
He IS the leader in the clubhouse at fathering children.
Hey FMU! Are we going to do a Mock Draft? Tonight? Get back to me and let me know if you’re up for it. Just reply to this post . . .
I can’t – I’m not gonna be around tonight. Sorry
NO
With the issues on Tyreek, SI’s latest mock has Dolphins taking WR Matthew Golden at #13. That would not help this season.
if they aren’t building up front with the early picks, I’m not sure I will ever watch game 1 of the season

love the Banks pick especially after a trade down
I’ve heard people criticizing Banks ability to play OG and all I can say is “squeal” to that hogwash
you can probably get a safety instead of a 2nd OL with the 2nd second rounder
I would love a DL in the first two rounds but the position runs very deep and drafting Puegues, Phillips and Turner leaves nothing to complain about

I will take this one
With UDFA signings of QB Seth Henigan, RB Mario Anderson Jr, WR Chimere Dike, OG Addison West, OT Caleb Etienne, DT Cam Horsley, ILB Jackson Woodard, CB Bilhal Kone, S Marques Sigle
is Ersery insurance for Paul if he doesn’t work out?
Yeah
Needham signed with the Browns.
Sad to see him go, always liked him.
Agreed
we don’t need ham anymore
(Piggy squeals in the corner)
2 days away, and I’m still no closer as to what we might do.
It feels akin to getting the last Wildcard spot for the playoffs with two games left to play. We need to win out, team X has to beat team Y, team Z must lose to team A, and team B and C have to lose out. But if team D pulls off an upset against team Y, our path gets easier. KNOW WHAT I’M SAYIN?!! LOL
Do we trade Jalen Ramsey on Draft day? Is the return going to be significant enough to garner another day 3 pick? Will we trade down (I believe we can find a trade parter)? If so, how far? Will Chris Grief be permitted to use future Draft capital to make a significant move this Draft? Will Tyreek Hill get traded in 2 days?
I can’t pre-determine where we’ll pick, positional priorities as BPA (CB? OT/OG? DT?), or the crazy crap Grief and Coach McD may try to pull off. This Draft for our Phins has me so perplexed… unlike any year over the last 20 or so.
PS: I could be completely wrong on this, but I sense we’re going to see a good amount of movement (trades) from teams this Draft.
I hope see, with the lack of top talent i doubt it
hope so
We shall see, my guy! It’s not a prediction I’m giving, just a gut sense.
I can can guaranty we will be doing close, but not exactly, one of the mock drafts posted here over the last few months
so that narrows it down to be about 6 thousand to chose from….
Hey guys I’m Back.

MY WIFE AND I (plus our dog & cat) moved about 6 months ago to the little redneck town of Brooksville, Florida, about 35-40 miles north/northeast of Tampa. We bought a nice house in a really nice neighborhood that’s less than 2 miles from I-75. My 37 mile drive to work takes less time than did my 15 mile drive to my old job!!! I’m now what I call “semi-retired.” I “work” about 20 hours most weeks instead of the old 40+ hour grind.
My wife is scheduled for another back surgery (this time on a different part of her back). It SHOULD significantly lower her back pain while raising her spirits. We are hoping for the best. Meanwhile, no such cure is coming this season for my beloved Dolphins. We are stuck with one of the NFL’s most clueless owners and most clueless front offices. Our streak of NOT winning a single playoff game THIS CENTURY is NOT going to end this year.
Congrats on being “semi-retired”, Mr. Campbell! Best of success and best wishes for Mrs. Old Dolfan regarding her next back surgery, man.
Great to see you OD!
I think there will be some 1st round trades and it is exactly due to lack of top talent. I think teams will have just a handful of players they want and would trade up for. Also, I think a couple teams in the top 5 of the draft may look to trade back up into the bottom of the 1st round.
Teams with a good number of picks in Browns, Patriots, Jaguars and maybe Raiders could trade up back into the first round. Especially Patriots and Jaguars who both hold 2 third round picks.
I just don’t know why we have not signed any one of Will Hernandez, Dalton Risner or even Mark Glowinski. We could go D heavy if we did.
https://www.yardbarker.com/nfl/articles/ranking_dolphins_best_options_in_round_1/s1_16637_42088534
I can agree with the names but not the order. Also, some, I would hope we traded down for.
Good to have you back OD! The OG!
Mike and all you other Dolfans– Thanks for the good wishes. I’m having a helluva time getting back on this site. But I’m hoping for the best.
TONIGHT, the Tampa Bay Lightning host the defending Stanley Cup champions — the Florida Panthers— in game 1 of their best-of 7 series. I am ALL JACKED UP FOR THIS ONE!!
YEARS AGO one New York scribe said “HOCKEY IN FLORIDA?? – – YOU’VE GOT TO BE KIDDING ME!!! Hell, they can’t even MAKE ICE in FLORIDA!!! – – Well, not only can we make ice, we can make STANLEY CUP CHAMPIONS – – TWO OF THEM!!! – – bOTH THE PANTHERS AND THE BOLTS HAVE WON THE CUP!!! – – And there’s a decnt chance the winner of this series could bring yet ANOTHER STANLEY CUP BACK TO THE SUNSHINE STATE!!
I’ll be glued to the tube tonight!!
Usually in drafts with a lot of homogeneity there are lots of trades.
With where this team is, I’d even be fine with drafting Golden. It wouldn’t be my move, but he could be a big part of the offense in 3 years. Like I’ve said, I just really don’t see how they can screw up this draft. Even moves I’d never make could be good moves for the team. I’m hopeful.
Good to see you, OD. Wishing the best for the Mrs.
RANDY; NEVER UNDERESTIMATE this front office’s chances of making a poor draft selection. There are several good reasons why this franchise has not come close to winning a playoff game THIS CENTURY!!!
Now, admittedly, they’d REALLY have to screw things up to pick someone in round one who lacks the talent to be at least an average NFL player. But where there’s a Ross there’s a way.
A way to screw things up, that is!
MY THANKS to MF13,BBM,Mike E., and all the rest of you for the warm “Welcome Back” greetings.
May we all live long enough to see our beloved Dolphins prosper as they did many years ago when this franchise was in its’ glory years. This WON’T BE THAT YEAR. But we can make 2-3 strong selections (based on luck) that will set the stage for a successful rebuilding job in the post Steve Ross Era.
LET THE REBULDING BEGIN!
OD,
Oh, I never underestimate the ignorance of people in charge! Of anything. Lol
Nice to see you posting again. 👍
good to see you OD- good luck to your wife with her latest back surgery!
I am so unenthused about a CB @13. The only one I would be excited about would be Hunter .
Exactly how I feel. Double down on that feeling if we take Jahdae Barron
would be just like Grief to take a slot CB at 13, the other choice Johnson may be too injury prone, some say he is some say not, whatever, don’t think we can take a chance on an oft injured player
I think there is enough talent at need positions when we’re up at #13. But let’s see if someone intriguing fell to us.
I AM LOGGED IN DAMNIT!
OH FOR FUCKS SAKE!! IT POSTS THAT?!?!
Ok, breath……..
Hey OD!! Good seeing you here again! I have to say though….. GO PANTHERS!!
How bout those Jets
They share a name with the suckyest team in football so they must suck too?
I think I’d be really happy if we end up with Armand Membou. I’d be OK with a DT too, either Nolan, Harmon or Grant, I’d be good with Campbell or Banks too. Just not enamored with Barron, or Johnson at CB due to his injury history. Can we please not take a guy with an injury history? Is that too much to ask?
Yes it is
I agree Mike, and with so many decent choices for our 1st pick is prefer a trade down
welcome back OD
Glad to see ya well OD
I like all 3 of the OL
But I think Membou is my #3
Of the picks I want at 13 I think this is my order
1 Campbell
2. Banks
3 Membou
4. Nolan
5 Grant
Than all the DBs are basically 6, 7 and 8
draft this year seems weird, the experts don’t seem to have a clue where to slot the players
Hunter and Carter seem to be the only elite players, yet both Clev and NYG are rumored to want to trade down
Panthers win 6-2 last night! Keep it going boys!

TO THOSE making comments on the Panthers/Lightning series I have to say that the PANTHERS were my “First Hockey Love” when they joined the National Hockey League. Originally, they played in Miami Arena, home of the UM Hurricanes basketball team before they got their on campus arena. I WAS THERE when the Panthers upset the Boston Bruins in their first playoff appearance. The cinderella Panthers made it all the way to the STANLEY CUP FINALS that memorable season before falling to the Colorado team that was loaded with Hall-of-Famers. So I’ve been a Panthers fan longer than I’ve been a Tampa Bay fan. However, when my job took me to Tampa (at about the same time the Panthers franchise hit some tough years, I couldn’t help but root for my new home team!! When the Lightning won back-to-back Stanley Cups in 2020 and 2021 I got caught up in the local frenzy. Tampa became, and still is, a hotbed of hockey craziness!
However, when BOTH franchises are competitive, I always root for my “First Hockey Love,” —the Florida Panthers. THAT ASS-KICKING Florida put on the favored, home standing, Lightning certainly got EVERYBODY’s attention. I hope the Panthers win this year’s Stanley Cup! But, in future years, if the Panthers suck, I’ll root for my #2 team–the Lightning!!
