I’m not here trying to piss on anyone’s cornflakes, but I feel it’s important to look at things from every angle, not just the positive spins that are churned out constantly by Dolphins shills like Travis Wingfield and others. No offense to Travis, he has a job to do, and that’s to portray this team in the brightest light he’s able to show them in. I’m not on the payroll, so you don’t need to worry about loyalty or allegiance from me! There’s a whole lotta talk that went around in the Rookie minicamp, there’s an “Attitude Adjustment” occurring here in Miami. I know some of you despise Mike Florio, feel that he has an agenda against the Dolphins. I think he’s just one of the few guys still out there that just says what he feels. I completely agree with what Mike said this morning on the Joe Rose, he’s a weekly guest there on Friday’s for many years.
Mike Florio said regarding the attitude adjustment that Head Coach Mike McDaniel is making here in Miami, holding players accountable, players shouldn’t be late for meetings etc. This is going to be year 4 for Mike McDaniel, so isn’t Mike McDaniel stating that there needs to be big changes in attitude basically admitting that we need a new Head Coach? I mean, we are who we are, and Mike McDaniel can’t turn into Don Shula after 3 seasons and be some kind of disciplinarian Head Coach that has his players full respect. He’s a friendly guy, tries to be one of the guys, and that’s who he is. Let’s also be honest about something else, it was far from just having trouble with the “inmates running the asylum”, he got beat up with X’s and O’s big time last season. The 2 deep zone which has been around since when Don Shula was in diapers was the “boogeyman” that killed our offense. We’re supposedly talking about one of the best offensive minds in the NFL, Mike McDaniel, and he was completely stymied by this age old concept and had no answer or remedy for it. SO, not only didn’t Mike McDaniel have control of the locker room and his players, but this offensive genius was slayed by a basic defensive concept older than dirt. If that doesn’t scream “We need a new Head Coach!”, what does?
As we all know here, the problems with the team go much deeper than the Head Coach, but actually start with the GM, Chris Grier who hired Mike McDaniel. I thought 2 heads should have rolled in this offseason, GM Chris Grier and HC Mike McDaniel. Right now we have more personnel issues than we should, the Jalen Ramsey disaster still lingers on, and don’t be shocked if the resolution is similar to what we just saw with the Green Packers and Jaire Alexander, who by the way makes it harder for the Dolphins to find a suitor for Ramsey while Jaire Alexander is now a free agent. Unfortunately, it’s not just Jalen Ramsey now, but our TE that we all enjoyed watching last season is holding out for more money after having his best season in the NFL. DT Zach Sieler was in attendance but he would also love an extension and raise commensurate with his play, and if anyone deserves that it would be Sieler. Problem is, GM Chris Grier threw money at all the wrong people, throwing additional monies to DB Jalen Ramsey (on the trade block), WR Tyreek Hill (quit on the team in Game 17), and gave QB Tua Tagovailoa a huge contract when they could have played him on his 5th YR option.
Now on to some positives. Phew! If you’re a Dolphins fan, or simply just a fan of humanity, and underdogs, you have to love Jaelan Phillips. NFL players sometimes go through hell, but this kid has really been through the wringer. He’s already seemingly healthy after knee surgery during a friendly fire injury, a collision making a tackle in which his own teammate obliterated his knee. That makes back to back years with significant injury rehabs, an achilles tear in 2023, and then an ACL tear in 2024. We know he’s a workout warrior, but the mental resolve and anguish he had to have endured is amazing, and I give this kid a ton of credit and hope he can have a fantastic 2025 season, the last of his contract by the way. In minicamp, our young defensive backs supposedly showed well, like Storm Duck, Isaiah Johnson, Kader Kohou, Jason Marshall and others. It would be wonderful if a couple of these guys stepped up and took the job, played well and never looked back.
On the negative side, yep, after a brief respite we’re back, sorry! OG James Daniels isn’t ready to participate which further reinforces my initial fear that he may not actually be ready to start the season. So much emphasis has been put on the offensive line, including throwing away draft picks to get OG Jonah Savaiinaea, but imagine if OG Liam Eichenberg has to start the season at LG in place of the prize of the free agent spending OG James Daniels can’t play? I think our front 7 could be a positive as long as the defensive line with Sieler, Grant and possibly Phillips are stout and get some push, along with the formidable pass rush potential from 2nd year LB Chop Robinson, rehab warrior Jaelan Phillips, and the very delayed return of LB Bradley Chubb who should be healthy by now, his last game was in 2021 (JBBLOL!), it was actually 2023.
As I made clear earlier in this article, the GM and HC are on shaky ground, even the most optimistic die hard Miami Dolphins has to realize this. While Mike McDaniel tries to reinvent his persona and relationship with the players in year 4, Chris Grier has to agonize over how he can improve the secondary with limited cap space, and most likely a “ban” on using any future assets to accomplish this. CB Asante Samuel Jr. is still available, and of course the aforementioned Jaire Alexander is now available as well, but you’d have to think the Dolphins who are looking borderline ridiculous for extending the contract and paying CB Jalen Ramsey more money, and then a few months later announcing that both parties have mutually agreed to part ways. Picking up a malcontent like Jaire Alexander would be insane, so don’t bet on it. Back to Asante Samuel Jr. who is supposed to have medical exams done on his neck in the next month or so and if he’s medically cleared, interest from the Dolphins and others will surely ramp up. I’m fine going forward with what we got, maybe we’ll be pleasantly surprised. I truly doubt we’ll see CB Cam Smith do anything good, that mistake will probably erased, and if Mike McDaniel can’t figure how to beat the 2 deep zone, that mistake along with “Mr Nice Guy” GM Chris Grier who everyone loves except actual fans of the team.
GO DOLPHINS!!!

Congratulations Grandpa (Wyo)! Really happy for you, enjoy every minute!
Thanks
Ryder think’s we should NOT sign any CB’s prior to TC. Jaire is gone. Says Douglas is only a good Zone CB but probably lost a step and can’t ask him to come in and play mostly press at this stage of his career. Compares bringing in Douglas would be like another Poyer situation. Says ASJ is a ?, says that he has had neck issues his whole career, not just the one instance leading up to his neck surgery. Despite being a good cover corner, he’s a small corner who doesn’t like to tackle due to his neck issues. Kind of like Kendall Fuller not wanting to play physical after his 2 concussions.
Signing any other CB’s is going to push one we are developing off the roster. He gave Bonner as a perfect example. Bonner has played well in the games he played in, including the playoff game vs KC in the -30 wind chill game. Grier even mentioned teams wanting to trade for Bonner after the preseason last year. The signings of Ramsey and then Fuller hampered Bonner’s development. Signing another vet CB will just continue to hamper Bonner, Isaiah Johnson, Jason Marshall, BJ Adams and some others.
You have to see what you have heading in to the next draft and the only real way to do that is in real games.
I agree with him, why sign a vet just to sign one when they really aren’t going to make you any better.
I’m fine with going what we got. Grier made the bed, now he’s gonna sleep in it. Hopefully he wakes up somewhere else. lol
Congrats Wyo!
Thanks
IF, and it’s no one’s fault except CG, we can’t trade Ramsey, he doesn’t play this year…he will never play again making Dolphins’ money (after sitting out a year) or in the NFL…too old, too ornery, too entitled….bye, bye…
He’s basically cashing out…lol
He’s writing off his chances of winning a SB…imo…lol
he’s already got one, he only cares about himself and his $$
Didn’t know that, but that’s that’s what I said…lol…thanks for the validation.
Money v SB…I say he’s about the money…lol
Then, he’s cashing out!
BBM,
I’ve been saying for months now that this team needs to stop bringing in old, overpriced players and start focusing on developing young ones. This team needs to face the fact that this team IS rebuilding. I hope they stop trying to plug holes and start building from the ground up.
100% agree
Perhaps, Ross has recognized his investment in CG is failing…
I’m in Ann Arbor and he’s THE namee in their Sports Complex…across the board…Stepehen M Ross Athletic Complex.
He also has a 5* Academic Center…
He’s wasting his money on CG and company…imo
Dude can and does spend money!
SMR….just doesn’t know football…lol
WHY would you give Ramsey a bump? Lol…
funny I thought the depth at OT was better last year, at least we’ve been told that
When Austin Jackson started at right tackle last season, the Dolphins averaged 133.9 rushing yards per game. When he was injured and out, the Dolphins averaged 59.4 rushing yards per game.
And I’d be willing to bet if you go back to ’23, Robert Hunt starting next to Austin Jackson averaged even more rushing yards per game.
I hope Big Jonah and Austin Jackson can replicate our ’23 running game… I do believe it’s possible.
The OL and running game on offense, the Edge on defense. That has to be good for the team to have success.
Agreed, but I’d add a decent DB room as well. We’ll see what happens…
For instance… if our pass-rush is as incredible as it looks on paper, we’d better have DBs who are very quick in coverage.
Look no further than our own Tua, who gets rid of the ball hella quick to avoid the pass-rush. If we don’t have an adequate DB room, we could be in trouble. JMO
M13, without a running game and quick guys off the edge we’re not beating the top teams. Tua staying healthy is a no brainer but he’s not Josh Allen or Lamar Jackson etc., he’s a system QB like Joe Montana was. Timing and accuracy. The Giants defense back in the day caught up with that offense and destroyed them. We can’t be one dimensional.
The best case scenario on defense is; Sieler and Grant are studs inside with a rotation of Chubb, Phillips and Chop on the edge, with Brooks and either another LB or 6 DBs most of the time.
Tim – Take that back!! System QB like Joe Montana??? You mean the guy who won 4 Superbowls? 2 MVP’s? 3 All Pros? 3 Superbowl MVP’s?
Can you aim a little lower, like Kirk Cousins, maybe?
I am never going to buy a Dolphins jersey again. Two years ago I bought Ramsey jersey and now I hate the guy. I think I’ll use it to pick up dog crap from the lawn.
I read an article (a couple actually because of the copy cat tendencies of the press / blog writers) about the Dolphins paying Ramsey not to play this year.
I am like F that BS! Demand he comes to camp and fine him $50,000 per day that he doesn’t. Then fine him a game check for every week he misses. If he shows up but refuses to play or fakes an injury, then roast his ass in the Socials. Show what a shit he is and get him blackballed from all the other teams. The fuck was happy as shit to take 10’s of millions up front in bonuses but now doesn’t want to work for that pay? FUCK HIM. I would start now if I was the team. Start “leaking” stories. Destroy him in the public eye. Crush his “brand” value as a nodowell malcontent.
Fuck the dolphins only got 5 interceptions and 16 pass breakups from him. Maybe QB’s were avoiding him, but he didn’t contribute much for a “Superstar”. He only made the probowl on name recognition alone in ’23 after playing 10 games.
I totally understand being angry with Ramsey, but how can you not be furious with Grier? Did Ramsey demand this money or did fuckface just keep throwing it at him? No free passes from me. Ramsey has been this guy his entire career, yet we brought him here. Then we threw more money in his face and still doesn’t want to play for a loser.
Do not misunderstand me. I wanted Grief gone 3 years ago (see my avi). I agree with everything you said. I am just pissed at the entitled attitude of the spoiled multi-millionaire who took the money and now doesn’t want to earn it. I dont’ care if he doesn’t like MM or Weaver. I don’t like my boss either! I still do what is right for the company as long as he keeps paying me.
I know the Browns did it recently, but I don’t understand this new concept of pay them not to be there. What happened to if they aren’t there, they don’t get paid, nor do they accrue a season?
If he ‘plays poorly’ and isn’t trying, he hurts the team but also his own stock in getting signed next year, so there should still be motivation to play well. And if he clearly isn’t trying then he rides the effing bench which as an aging CB still hurts his money next year. Screw this pay him to stay home idea.
Yeah, didn’t they pay Happy Ending to stay home? Bad teams set precedent for the rest of the league. Same bad teams making bad decisions on guaranteed salary causing our Dolphins to not be able to sign our new shiny guard.
The Houston Texans and Cleveland Browns made history by giving their second-round picks, Jayden Higgins and Carson Schwesinger respectively, fully guaranteed contracts. Now every 2nd round pick is holding out for the same BS.
Let’s not forget that MOST fans were in love with getting Ramsey too. Some said he’d be a total shit show because he’s a selfish asshole but most loved it.
My reaction is I want to make him feel the pain of his choices, but I think I may just want him out of my building just as much. He’s indicative of most players these days. All about themselves and selfish little shits. I doubt most players think any differently than he does. Making an example of him by bringing him back and being hard on him will probably just backfire. Nobody on this team seems to believe in personal responsibility. They just admitted they were all lying thru their teeth. Where’s the leadership? Nobody stepped up in the locker room and said this is BS? These same players would probably have his back…not the team’s. Having him as part of the team probably just makes things worse because there’s no accountability on this team.
I was excited enough to spend $165 on a jersey at the stadium. (after I gave the XL Achane jersey to Chef Warren because it was way to big for me. (that’s over $300 in jerseys in one season) Not happening again. LOL
Rock – I can almost give Cleveland a pass because Watson was a rising star and had not exhibited any aberrant behavior at the time they traded for him. Granted, the fully guaranteed contract was over the top, but they thought they had one of the most dangerous QB’s in the NFL. Ramsey had shown what a pain in the ass he was already and why he was going on to his third team and his former team allowed him to go with little compensation. Grier absolutely knew what he was getting, but then despite knowing this, for no apparent reason, extended his already bad contract and made it worse, and then 7 months later Grier himself announces that the team and Ramsey have mutually agreed to part ways. Can you look any more stupid than that?
What are you talking about Mike? The Browns traded for him AFTER he was accused of rape and sexual assault while with the Texans. He missed the first 11 games of the season with the Browns on suspension for cumming in some masseuses eye!
If you guys are on X, not sure if you’ve seen DouglieDoWrong make a Tua/Brees comparison, that Tua might possibly mature like Brees did and become as good. We all know what happened with Brees. Yes, Tua’s numbers are better than Brees but context is so extremely important. Different era of football, different rules, and to be honest, I didn’t delve heavy into the numbers to see if Brees was awful against good teams and and great against bad teams like Tua. Some guy then put up a comparison that Justin Herbert might be like Peyton Manning, and his stats are better than Peyton’s at this juncture of their careers. It’s all silly stuff.
No comparison to me. Why, because they are both short?
Brees beat plenty of really good teams. Was 5-3 vs Tom Brady to include trouncing the Pats in 2004 (one of the Pats SB winning years) when Brees was starting for the Chargers.
I’m not implying anything with this post, but Tua as Undefeated against Tom Brady….and is still 7-0 against the Pats in general….
Mike, it was just an example, not a player for player comparison.
Rock – ok, I didn’t remember the time line with Watson.
Really Mike, you didn’t know the trade was after all the masseuse stuff?
why do you think he sat out the previous years or was up for trade
I’m not buying it im calling BS🤣
Rock – one more thing, would the suspension have been less if he came in her mouth instead of her eye?
NEW BLOG UP!!!!
