I’m not here trying to piss on anyone’s cornflakes, but I feel it’s important to look at things from every angle, not just the positive spins that are churned out constantly by Dolphins shills like Travis Wingfield and others. No offense to Travis, he has a job to do, and that’s to portray this team in the brightest light he’s able to show them in. I’m not on the payroll, so you don’t need to worry about loyalty or allegiance from me! There’s a whole lotta talk that went around in the Rookie minicamp, there’s an “Attitude Adjustment” occurring here in Miami. I know some of you despise Mike Florio, feel that he has an agenda against the Dolphins. I think he’s just one of the few guys still out there that just says what he feels. I completely agree with what Mike said this morning on the Joe Rose, he’s a weekly guest there on Friday’s for many years.
Mike Florio said regarding the attitude adjustment that Head Coach Mike McDaniel is making here in Miami, holding players accountable, players shouldn’t be late for meetings etc. This is going to be year 4 for Mike McDaniel, so isn’t Mike McDaniel stating that there needs to be big changes in attitude basically admitting that we need a new Head Coach? I mean, we are who we are, and Mike McDaniel can’t turn into Don Shula after 3 seasons and be some kind of disciplinarian Head Coach that has his players full respect. He’s a friendly guy, tries to be one of the guys, and that’s who he is. Let’s also be honest about something else, it was far from just having trouble with the “inmates running the asylum”, he got beat up with X’s and O’s big time last season. The 2 deep zone which has been around since when Don Shula was in diapers was the “boogeyman” that killed our offense. We’re supposedly talking about one of the best offensive minds in the NFL, Mike McDaniel, and he was completely stymied by this age old concept and had no answer or remedy for it. SO, not only didn’t Mike McDaniel have control of the locker room and his players, but this offensive genius was slayed by a basic defensive concept older than dirt. If that doesn’t scream “We need a new Head Coach!”, what does?
As we all know here, the problems with the team go much deeper than the Head Coach, but actually start with the GM, Chris Grier who hired Mike McDaniel. I thought 2 heads should have rolled in this offseason, GM Chris Grier and HC Mike McDaniel. Right now we have more personnel issues than we should, the Jalen Ramsey disaster still lingers on, and don’t be shocked if the resolution is similar to what we just saw with the Green Packers and Jaire Alexander, who by the way makes it harder for the Dolphins to find a suitor for Ramsey while Jaire Alexander is now a free agent. Unfortunately, it’s not just Jalen Ramsey now, but our TE that we all enjoyed watching last season is holding out for more money after having his best season in the NFL. DT Zach Sieler was in attendance but he would also love an extension and raise commensurate with his play, and if anyone deserves that it would be Sieler. Problem is, GM Chris Grier threw money at all the wrong people, throwing additional monies to DB Jalen Ramsey (on the trade block), WR Tyreek Hill (quit on the team in Game 17), and gave QB Tua Tagovailoa a huge contract when they could have played him on his 5th YR option.
Now on to some positives. Phew! If you’re a Dolphins fan, or simply just a fan of humanity, and underdogs, you have to love Jaelan Phillips. NFL players sometimes go through hell, but this kid has really been through the wringer. He’s already seemingly healthy after knee surgery during a friendly fire injury, a collision making a tackle in which his own teammate obliterated his knee. That makes back to back years with significant injury rehabs, an achilles tear in 2023, and then an ACL tear in 2024. We know he’s a workout warrior, but the mental resolve and anguish he had to have endured is amazing, and I give this kid a ton of credit and hope he can have a fantastic 2025 season, the last of his contract by the way. In minicamp, our young defensive backs supposedly showed well, like Storm Duck, Isaiah Johnson, Kader Kohou, Jason Marshall and others. It would be wonderful if a couple of these guys stepped up and took the job, played well and never looked back.
On the negative side, yep, after a brief respite we’re back, sorry! OG James Daniels isn’t ready to participate which further reinforces my initial fear that he may not actually be ready to start the season. So much emphasis has been put on the offensive line, including throwing away draft picks to get OG Jonah Savaiinaea, but imagine if OG Liam Eichenberg has to start the season at LG in place of the prize of the free agent spending OG James Daniels can’t play? I think our front 7 could be a positive as long as the defensive line with Sieler, Grant and possibly Phillips are stout and get some push, along with the formidable pass rush potential from 2nd year LB Chop Robinson, rehab warrior Jaelan Phillips, and the very delayed return of LB Bradley Chubb who should be healthy by now, his last game was in 2021 (JBBLOL!), it was actually 2023.
As I made clear earlier in this article, the GM and HC are on shaky ground, even the most optimistic die hard Miami Dolphins has to realize this. While Mike McDaniel tries to reinvent his persona and relationship with the players in year 4, Chris Grier has to agonize over how he can improve the secondary with limited cap space, and most likely a “ban” on using any future assets to accomplish this. CB Asante Samuel Jr. is still available, and of course the aforementioned Jaire Alexander is now available as well, but you’d have to think the Dolphins who are looking borderline ridiculous for extending the contract and paying CB Jalen Ramsey more money, and then a few months later announcing that both parties have mutually agreed to part ways. Picking up a malcontent like Jaire Alexander would be insane, so don’t bet on it. Back to Asante Samuel Jr. who is supposed to have medical exams done on his neck in the next month or so and if he’s medically cleared, interest from the Dolphins and others will surely ramp up. I’m fine going forward with what we got, maybe we’ll be pleasantly surprised. I truly doubt we’ll see CB Cam Smith do anything good, that mistake will probably erased, and if Mike McDaniel can’t figure how to beat the 2 deep zone, that mistake along with “Mr Nice Guy” GM Chris Grier who everyone loves except actual fans of the team.
GO DOLPHINS!!!

MikeE,
Take a break! Go watch our President do a Hitler reenactment with his birthday parade or a protest of your choice! There are so many other things to enjoy in our World! Lol
Need to give you guys/gals fresh materia each week!
Awe man, why we got to use the Hitler reference. Every European nation and many countries on every continent do it every year.
I thought America was different…lol
MikeE,
I meant take a break from the emotion of following this team and thinking about football. Lol
Your efforts with articles is legendary.
I’m too far down the rabbit hole, no way out of it. We all are, although some of us have been able to break away. No matter what happens it will be interesting to watch. If we’re great, it will be fun. If we’re awful, it will be interesting to see what changes come
The summer lull is upon us. Only news awaiting us for the next 6 weeks is Jonah finally signing his contract, Ramsey trade or release and possibly signing a CB.
Unless a player like Tyreek does something stupid again.
Oh, and I guess the Jannu contract situation. Would be nice to see a Sieler 2yr extension also.
I’m curious, what do most of you think will happen with Jalen Ramsey?
Trade or release?
I still think trade but (as you said in the article) with Jaire available and possibly ASJ, the return just went down.
Was Russia really the second best military in the world?
On a mission to fire unguided air to ground rockets at Ukraine targets, a Russian fighter pilot was too close to his wingman when launching his rockets. He shot down his own wingman. lol
I say “lol” because it looks like the pilot safely ejected.
Mike E,
Nice write per usghe.
From what I’ve been reading, James Daniels is on schedule to start come opening kickoff. Unless he suffers a setback between now and then, I’m expecting him to be good to go.
Like you, I’d prefer ASJ over Jaire… so long as ASJ medically checks out in July. Then, the bidding war begins and hopefully he doesn’t price himself out of our range. I’d have absolutely no problem signing Jaire, though some would label him a malcontent. Perhaps he just needs a change of scenery… we see it all the time. I am NOT confident with our current CB room.
As for your question about Ramsey? I still think we trade him, even if we only get a future 7th rounder in return. Something is better than nothing, unless we can get better compensation via a compensatory draft pick by just cutting him. Don’t ask me where we stand in terms of the formula or if he would even figure into ’26 pick or ’27 pick, though I think he’d get us a ’27 pick? I’m totally unsure.
I think we want to trade him, just not sure anyone wants to give up anything for him. They will wait to see if he’s released
We don’t get any compensation draft picks for releasing or cutting someone. Only those who finish out their contract and become free agents. Best we trade him for what we can get like you originally said.
Rams would have to give up something it they want him because I don’t think Ramsey will clear waivers if released. There are 18 other teams ahead of the Rams on the waiver wire who could claim him before the Rams could.
he’s vested. No waivers for him
we just need to get as much Ramsey cap off the books as possible, not sure why a pick really matters
From Spotrac, the cheapest way to get rid of him is via trade. A release will increase his cap this year and break us.
They were talking about MN trading for Ramsey on my local KFAN. They all loved the idea.
Heard that also. I think there are a few teams who want him. It’s just the screwed up contract (huge option bonus) that Grier did that is messing the whole deal up.
No way Nussmeier falls out of the top 20 but it is what it is.
24. Jermod McCoy CB Tennessee
45. Garrett Nussmeier QB LSU
56. Amare Ferrell S Indiana
77. Jack Endries TE Texas
78. Isaiah World OT Oregon
81. Bryce Foster OC Kansas
110. Eric Singleton Jr. WR Auburn
133. R Mason Thomas EDGE Oklahoma
142. Aaron Graves DT Iowa
174. Bryce Boettcher LB Oregon
206. Devin Mockobee RB Purdue
I think one of the obstacles we have when trading Ramsey is how much of his contract we have to eat to get any compensation. We’ve done this before, basically paid money to get better trade compensation pick wise. We’ll see what happens, we’re far from being in the drivers seat though.
^
that’s why he hasn’t been traded yet IMO
Ramsey wouldn’t go through waivers. Players with less than four accrued seasons need to pass through the waiver wire in order to become unrestricted free agents, after that it the moment the paperwork hits the NY office
Thanks Rock!
The more we take on From Ramsey’s contract, the better the pick will be. If we somehow find a trade partner to take on all or most of his salary, we’re going to get a pretty low pick. It’s going to be one or the other
Yup!
Summer of Love 2.0. Y’all be safe protesting out there today…
At 31, Tyreek can still scoot.

Impressive but would be nowhere close to beating Lyles. He’s got to be under 10sec to even have a chance. I think Lyles fastest time was under 9.8sec.

Come on, you know you want to believe. lol
Thank you for keeping it real, Mike E. On paper, all I see is poke and hope.
MM lost the team. I don’t see how you get it back.
The UFL season ends tonight with the championship game featuring DC Defenders vs Michigan Panthers.
UFL players become free agents after and can then sign with NFL teams. I wonder if the Dolphins have an eye on any of them.
Rams released/waived former starting CB Derion Kendrick yesterday who was their current #2 RCB. Is it due to him missing last season with an ACL injury or is it a precursor a Ramsey trade???
It wasn’t waived/injured with a settlement, he was just waived.
Rams new #2 RCB is now Emmanuel Forbes.
Article just posted at 12pm asks the same question.
Rams Latest Move Could Be Preperation For Ramsey Trade | Yardbarker
Just add one more starting CB (whether it be ASJ or Jaire Alexander), and I feel this team could possibly go somewhere this season.
Injuries, as always, will be the mitigating factor. So add one more quality backup O-Lineman as well (y’all know the drill with current FAs).
If Tua gets back to his playing weight of ’23, he’ll be that much less injury-prone… in theory at least.
At this point in time, I’d add Jaire (he should come relatively cheap) and Dalton Risner (nod to BBM).
I still want ASJ over Jaire, but the bidding war for ASJ will likely price us out.
Even without a legit running game last season (thanks to our O-Line and injuries… it’s not as though Mostert, Achane, and Wright forgot how to run!), we were still able to beat 2-Deep Safeties via Jonnu and Achane as receivers underneath… albeit, it took a while for Coach McD to figure it out.
Gotta find a way to extend Jonnu, so going low $$$ for Jaire and Risner makes sense over ASJ and Brandon Scherff.
Am I beginning to drink the Kool-Aid? Maybe…
And I realize that’s it’s HIGHLY unlikely to happen (especially after the release of Derion Kendrick), but I’d trade Jalen Ramsey for Emmanuel Forbes, straight up.

M – no offense, I don’t think Tua’s weight has anything to do with Tua’s durability. It’s his play, he just needs to avoid contact, which in turn makes him predictable and less effective, but if he plays in bubble wrap like he did in ’23, he’ll beat some of the lesser teams but probably no better against the better teams as it has been that way the last 2 seasons, including 2023
No offense taken, my Brother, but thanks for saying that! I understand where you’re coming from and for good reason. I just feel that Tua with more muscle/body weight is going to help protect him when protection breaks down.
IMO, you are 100% correct on Tua needing to avoid contact… and I don’t have a problem with that. He is, after all, an outstanding pocket-passer. If our O-Line has been fixed (knock on wood), it should give him a lil’ more time to scan the field.
And friendly reminder: we BOTH know Tua could be one more hit away from retirement. I’d say get him back to his playing weight of ’23 to endure the inevitable hits.
We CAN win without a mobile QB, despite the recent trends with Mahomes, Allen, and shall we say Justin Fields (6-3 as a Stealer*).
And quite obviously, Lamar Jackson.
the key to us beating the good teams is everyone contributing, 1 guy isn’t going to win or lose the game under most circumstances
his playing is a factor, so is his stupid run thru tackles mindset, he has to play smart
he can still run, just be smart about it
his playing WEIGHT is a factor
Happy Father’s Day old dudes!

Article – Top 12 QB matchups for the season
Tua wasn’t named in any of them. Though Tua faces Josh Allen twice, Lamar Jackson, Jayden Daniels, Aaron Rodgers and Joe Burrow. Josh Allen was named 4 times vs Hurts, Burrow, Mahomes and Lamar Jackson. Mahomes named 3 times. Rodgers, Hurts and Daniels named 2 times.
That’s because he’s not a top 10 QB in the NFL.
Video from NFL Daily Podcast – NFL Head Coaches Likely To Be Fired
MM came in at #6
A writer responded to an article about sleeper teams (couldn’t figure out who). He said the Dolphins are his biggest sleeper team. Not in wins, but predicts the Dolphins are his top team to have at least 2 big upsets this season.
He said the Dolphins have a young hungry team and it will change people’s minds that the Dolphins can’t beat good teams. Though he did say the Dolphins will still have a hiccup or 2 against mediocre teams and still only win 9-10 games.
he did say the Dolphins will still have a hiccup or 2 against mediocre teams
they can’t have it both ways
in 2023 we lost to 1 lesser team, very costly Titans
all teams lose to lesser teams
I think they can have it both ways. You showed it in 2023. We beat the Ravens then lost to the Titans.
for my 2 upsets I’d say Bills and Skins
assuming we’re competitive (MM doesn’t lose the locker room), and 1-16 doesn’t happen (anything is possible this year)
I was thinking same. Bills still don’t really have anyone special on offense outside of Allen and Cook. Unless Keon Coleman takes the next step and FA signee Elijah Moore steps up.
This whole weight conversation is BS. Whether Tua is 220 or 230 isn’t gonna make a damn bit of difference in whether or not he can take a hit or not get hurt. First, his biggest injury concern is concussions, and weight doesn’t impact that at all. Second, most injuries in the NFL are joint or soft tissue injuries, and weight has very little impact on those issues. It just makes very little difference. It’s not like he’s going from 200 to 270. He has very average mobility so getting lighter doesn’t make much difference either. He’s still average.
Tua doesn’t need to get fatter. He needs to get better. He should be at whatever weight makes him his most athletic. He’s not a scrambler. He’s a pocket passer. Then, he just needs to make better decisions in how he manages his game.
^
Perfectly said….no more fucking excuses…lol.
Geez, loueez…it’s all been said….
Tua needs to put up or shut up and not from the sidelines.
Happy Father’s Day! I’ll be letting my daughter kick my butt in golf in a few hours. The things fathers do! 🙂

This whole weight conversation is BS…
————-
I respectfully disagree, man. I DO agree Tua MUST play smarter and better… but he played all 17 games in ’23 when he put on more muscle weight. If I’m not mistaken, he put on 15 pounds from ’22.
For a guy of Tua’s size and frame, that’s truly significant. We’re not talking about a 6’4″, 290 pound lineman adding 15 pounds. And if you’ll recall, EVERYBODY remarked about the size of Tua’s thighs in ’23… how much more BUILT he had become in order to take the hits… and to toss the ball even farther.
I don’t think it was a mere coincidence that Tua’s health was 100% in ’23. And in regard to concussions, his neck was much thicker in ’23 and he learned to roll properly with Jiu Jitsu. He also had no hip issues (hope it doesn’t become lingering after last season).
So long as Tua doesn’t try to run through brick walls like our former FB Reagan Maui’a (and we all know Demar Hamlin is anything but a brick wall!), he could conceivably make it through all 17 games again. He’s still one more hit away from retirement, regardless.
Sorry, it was a plaster wall that Maui’a ran through… but still! I miss the 2007 Hawaii Warriors! And there’s my guy Colt Brennan (RIP) in the highlights. RE-SIGN DAVONE BESS!!! 😉
PS- I love the song playing in the background! Sounds like something I’d make, except I wouldn’t loop it nearly as short as this artist had done (that’s lazy, JMO).
Mine would be at LEAST 2x longer, probably 4x longer before it gets ‘looped’, if you will. And I’d be playing SOMETHING live the whole time to keep it fresh.
And of course, the drums would be constantly changing up.
Happy Father’s Day gang!
mf13ss…with all respect…we see many things differently even though we are witnesses to the same event.
Tua has mental issues. He can’t win the big game and doesn’t play smart KNOWING is fragility. Beyond that, both his ankles are roped, the same hip has been injured since college (twice), his bell rings every Sunday. You cannot rely on him to show up in the playoffs unless he’s wearing his cool shades.
This is pretty much how I see Tua today. Sadly.
He is not even close to what you portray in him in my eyes unless one is wearing Orange and Teal sunglasses…lol.
mf13ss…Tua has lost me as a fan. He’s been given so many opportunities to lead, be successful, take it the next level, yada, yada….and he really hasn’t done much to prove his worth.
Stats, smatz….he can’t even keep his receivers in line without them quitting on him.
I would love to see our OL come together….
Dolphins Veteran Guard Has High Praise For Rookie Lineman
Miami Dolphins guard James Daniels has nothing but good things to say about rookie guard Jonah Savaiinaea and his development.

Daniels’ recovery from a torn Achilles tendon is still ongoing, and he did not participate in team activities during mandatory minicamp this week. He worked independently of the rest of the team, but he should be cleared for contact in short order.
Daniels said his rehabilitation is going well and that he should be ready for training camp next month, allowing him to get up to speed quickly.
“I am right on the progression,” Daniels said. “Trying to ramp up. I’ll rehab, work out, spend time with my wife and cats.”
The Dolphins are counting on Daniels to be healthy this season and to keep quarterback Tua Tagovailoa upright. He is also being counted on to assist with the ground game. The Dolphins have a plethora of young talent at the running back position. However, with the lack of consistency on the offensive line last season, they never had the opportunity to get going.
“We run the ball a lot,” Daniels said. “You can’t not be physical and run. You can’t just toss the ball every play and just circle defenses. It’s not college. There is a time where we are going to have to block defensive line. We’re going to have to block linebackers on every play.
“That’s why I thought I was brought here,” Daniels said. “That’s why it’s something I’m excited for.”
That is music to Dolphins coach Mike McDaniel’s ears. He said before drills on Wednesday that he can see Daniels’ game coming together.
“He had a great day on the field (Tuesday) working on individual,” McDaniel said before Wednesday’s session. “I could see what he’s done in the last month on the field for the first time with my own eyes.”
Daniels has also been entrusted to befriend second-round pick Jonah Savaiinaea. The duo are expected to take the left and right guard spots, but who takes which one is still to be determined. They will envelope center Aaron Brewer.
Daniels is showing Savaiinaea the ropes and teaching him about being a professional and a starter in the NFL. He said the rookie is leaps and bounds ahead of where he should be.
“Jonah reminds me of one of my old teammates, one of my good friends, Isaac Seumalo,” Daniels said. “They have very similar movements and stuff.”
Daniels said the rookie is like a sponge, always seeking more information and knowledge of the blocking schemes.
“Jonah, he’s always texting me. He’s always texting other players asking for advice,” Daniels said. “So it’s always working after practice. I’m excited to see his development.”
Daniels said Mike McDaniel’s offense is not the easiest thing to pick up. He credits Savaiinaea for grasping the concepts so quickly. He also mentioned the Arizona product is being put in a position to learn more than he did as a rookie.
“My rookie year, I wasn’t working with the first team until October. He just starts off working with them, so he’s been thrown a lot of stuff,” Daniels said. “It’s not an easy offense. I’m really proud of him for his development. I’m excited to see how much he develops between now and training camp.”
Congratulations to J.J. Spaun winning the U.S. Open! The American only needed to 2 putt from 64′ to win but did it in 1 putt. The putt made him the only player to finish the tournament under par.
Talk Is Cheap About The Culture Change
Posted by Ryan VanHoover | Jun 15, 2025 | Offseason |
The Miami Dolphins last year were different, and I could see it in the preseason, and it carried over into the regular season. Then the team got into a funk early in the season, especially when quarterback Tua Tagovailoa went down with a concussion, but they were in a funk even with him in the first game and a half. CC
People talked about how players were buying into the team, and players were routinely late for team meetings, which head coach Mike McDaniel didn’t deny after the season, and realized that fines weren’t getting the message to those players. Duh, these guys are making 7 to 8-figure salaries, so a 4-figure fine is pocket change to them. Then there were players like wide receiver Tyreek Hill, who quit on the team in the regular season finale. The coaches and players were all trying to deny everything, but then Bradley Chubb this week said the players were lying last year and put their toe in the water, but didn’t fully commit to giving their best effort.
This might just be an example of how things go wrong when you entitle your players, like McDaniel has done since he has been the coach. Things are great when you’re winning and getting off to a great start, as seen in 2022 and 2023, which helped make the playoffs.
However, last year, the Dolphins got off to a bad start and couldn’t recover. Maybe McDaniel felt the veterans would control things in the locker room, but it’s the head coach who must set the standard.
It’s interesting how teams have a disciplinarian, like the Dolphins did with Brian Flores, and the team feels he’s too tough, so they get rid of him for a more easy-going guy like McDaniel. The thing is, Flores always had the pulse of his team, and as tough as he was, the team didn’t quit. The team started 1-7 in 2021 and finished 9-8, which reflects him.
McDaniel is at a crossroads year, and he knows it as he is on the hot seat and things must change. The Dolphins got rid of a lot of veterans and brought in younger players this offseason, which, frankly, I feel the team needed to do, but the team must be more focused and responsible for how they go about their business. McDaniel has laid down rules and expectations.
That’s fine and dandy, but it’s June, not August. The pads aren’t on. The team isn’t going full speed or game planning. The real test will come when the grind starts in training camp, and that’s going to be one of the things that will be under the microscope: whether McDaniel has a team together or is going their own way. I would say going their own way.
I could be wrong, and McDaniel could change, but if this team gets off to a bad start, then the season will get away from them, and McDaniel will be gone. It’s time for McDaniel to stop talking about the culture change and show it. I’m not buying all the talk because it’s easy to do that. Actions speak louder than words, and we must see this team in action to truly see if things have changed.
yeah yeah, who the fuck is Ryan VanHoover and what the fuck does he know? “I would say going their own way” and why exactly would you say that BLOGGER who has never been to OTA’s or Minicamps to make this comment.
or ever spoken directly to a dolphins player….
Lol…like all of us….it’s just an opinion
MF-13 I disagree on FAT Tua vs Skinny Tua. Tua started 2023 fat, but he lost most of that fat weight during camp. He really was Fat Tua and not “jacked” Tua. Now, if he had come in with 15-20lbs more muscle that would be one thing, but you could see the fucking muffin tops. He was fat Tua and I believe the caution he showed was more responsible for his lack of injuries than the 20lbs of fat he packed on.
Is it strange that hearing Daniels talk about not running around defenses got me excited? 🙂
A little strange, because we get a lot of talk from this team. When they actually do it and stop talking about it, I’ll get excited. I’m way past believing the shit they shovel
Krishna,
It’s all good, bud. Respect back to you. It’s like if the glass is half full or half empty. I see room for improvement and potential. You see a failing or lack of potential.
What I think we all can agree upon? One more concussion and it’s likely curtains for Tua. And THAT is why it’s so important to have a legit backup QB now, as well as a QB of the future. I’m not sold on Zach Wilson and I’m not sure Quinn Ewers is our QB of the future.
We’ll see about Tua’s leadership and health this year. To be honest (I always am), I’m skeptical about Tua making it through the season unscathed. However, he keeps proving everybody wrong… I’m not betting against him.
What can I say… I’m rooting for the kid!

———–
I’ve heard some refer to him as FAT Tua in ’23… can’t deny it. Yet, I’ve heard some refer to him as JACKED Tua in ’23. JMO, but I thought he looked pretty shredded in ’23.
So, he probably took lots of weight gainer and protein to put that weight on as relatively quickly as he had. Guessing, probably half (or less) was muscle and half (or more) was empty calories… or something like that, give or take.
Muscle doesn’t just disappear within a year, so that he was able to get back down to his normal playing weight last season would be indicative that it was more empty calorie weight.
Conclusion: you’re probably correct that he was “FAT” Tua, not “JACKED” Tua.
Nevertheless, he didn’t get injured in ’23 with the added weight. Perhaps a heavier, less mobile Tua is good for Tua… so that he doesn’t try to put on a cape and save the day, only to get destroyed by Demar Hamlin.
fatua
YUP! That’s FAT Tua.
LOL That’s from THIS offseason.
That’s a serious problem. He’d better get his shit together before the season begins.
So often “narratives” are false narratives.
Tua can’t throw the deep pass….
https://www.thephinsider.com/2025/6/16/24450259/tua-tagovailoa-one-of-nfls-deadliest-deep-ball-passers-miami-dolphins-criticism-tyreek-waddle
Funny
Tua’s just a fat 195 right now, don’t worry
Like I replied above to Rockphin, Tua had better get his shit together before the season begins. I don’t mind him living it up during the offseason, but that pic above is discouraging.
He is just emulating a legendary Dolphins QB that had a midsection like that every year…………….Don Strock!
😆
VERY fond memories of Don Strock!
I’m somewhat surprised we have yet to trade Jalen Ramsey. Only thing I can think of? We’re trying to get the very best yield in return, in order to move up for one of the top-QBs of the ’26 Draft. If that means paying a majority of Ramsey’s contract to the trading team, so be it.
Just a thought…
I believe EVERYBODY knows (including Phins’ management) that Tua is one hit/concussion away from potential retirement.
I don’t mean to sound as though I’ve soured on Tua, but these are the FACTS. We must prepare to move on from Tua.
Even if Tua becomes the AP-1 (All-Pro) QB this coming ’25 season, he’s always going to be one hit away from retirement.
I always thought sports were supposed to be fun. 🤷🏻♂️
It’s fun for the casual fan that doesn’t know any better. For the hardcore fans, it’s fun when we’re winning
Mike, be honest, just like social media politics this blog has become like The View. It’s Yentaville 🤪
Isn’t there some sort of rule around here against posting pics of topless men? Sorta goes in the same basket as Tim’s ballerina, tutu dancing guys?
MikeE,
I wasn’t getting excited about us actually doing it successfully just that somebody on this team actually brought it up and talked about it. It’s a different way to think about running the ball. I hope they follow through. But I understand your reticence
I hear ya Randy!
Tim – this place has always been like social media. When things are good it’s positive talk, when things look bleak, it’s the opposite. I guess I could be influencing the negativity but I think people here can think for themselves. We’ve all heard this positive spin bullshit from players, coaches and the GM. For me, that’s all it is until l see a reason to feel differently. I know you prefer to be positive but I just can’t do it, won’t do it until it seems like it’s the right way to feel.
I’m talking about every friggin thing. Fat Tua, skinny Tua. Let’s watch the roster play ball. It’s fucking June. We have too much information about everyone in the spotlight’s lives. They have lives before they have to get serious for a 5 month grind.
I don’t care about Tua’s physique so much, it’s his fat contract that bugs me the most, and his inability to play well against better teams. We’ll see this year whether he finally earns it or continues to be a letdown.
Tim – Reading your comment again reminds me of the Armour Hot Dog jingle.
“Fat Tua’s, skinny Tua’s, Tua’s that play on rocks, tough Tua’s, Sissy Tuas, even Tua’s with chicken pox”. LOL
😂

I’d like to think that an employee I’m paying $50M a year is committed 365 days a year. I’d like to think that a leader of the team sets an expectation for those who follow that we don’t let our bodies…you know, the tools of their trade…end up looking like my neighbor down the street. I’d like to think a leader sets a tone of hard work and sacrifice. It is an example of the biggest complaint about this team…they’re soft…like Tua’s body. But hey…everybody’s different.
omfg…I’d like to think that too
And, I like to think that all the bitching and ire shown over this team now is actually making an impact and might force ownership to make some choices moving forward. Maybe it’s not just bitching and moaning with no purpose. Maybe it might actually help things get better.
We can only hope! I wish Ross read my articles!
Same…I think we are the smartest/craziest following

Looking at some WR’s to watch this college season. We shouldn’t be taking one high next year so looking at guys who may be there 3rd round and later.
Nic Anderson, 6’4, 219 is one of them. He transferred from Oklahoma and will be playing with Nussmeier at LSU this year.

Man, every player is one hit away from retirement.
This is true! But in Tua’s case, another concussion is implied.
Tim,
Diehards are going to diehard, man! And that’s alright. Once the bullets become real (when the games count), that’s all that matters.
For whatever it may be worth, I’m cautiously… OPTIMISTIC about this season. Yeah, we’re all going to talk about every perspective of our beloved team… sometimes even pounding it to death, LOL.
I don’t allow over-negative or over-positive to affect me these days. I just LOVE to talk some football with y’all!
I can all but guarantee ya that there are folks on Chefs’* and Eagles’ blog sites that are very negative and also very positive.
It’s not easy to make it to the top of the hill, and there are those who want to ensure they remain the king of the hill. Surely, there are fans of the Chefs* and Eagles that are truly upset by some of their moves.
It’s all water under the bridge, everybody has an opinion, and it’s alright.
Talking football is great, but all the crazy speculation just gets laborious.

I don’t understand this complaint. That’s what is is BTW a complaint about how other people fan. You come on here every couple of days and cry over other people’s posts. Man if we all follow your rules we would have nothing to talk about February to Sept. Might as well just shut down the blog when players aren’t playing right? Or should we all just blindly cheer for crap. You point out in your post that there is nothing to talk about and then scold us for making things to talk about.
YES we talk about every friggin thing Dolphins. How the fuck are we supposed to just watch the roster play ball when they aren’t playing ball? Why don’t you just Fan your way and let us fan the way we want!?
Oh and by the way A BLOG IS SOCIAL MEDIA it’s not “like social media” IT IS
Some yenta keeps coming on here and telling others how to blog and how to be a fan. Said Yenta should just keep it to herself.
😂
Rock, I don’t have rules I just feel the discussions for the most part have become repetitive in negative ways without even knowing what this team will look like. I’m not telling anyone what to do. Just sharing my opinion about the difference on this blog as far as discussions go recently compared to a few years ago when it was much more about the game and not about attacking everything the team does.

————–
Crazy speculation is what keeps diehards diehard, Brother! Granted, it’s not too BS and overly speculative… I do understand where you’re coming from.
But on a serious note, it’s going to be interesting to see if Tua regains his weight from his injury-free ’23 vs his more mobile weight of ’22 and ’24. I don’t think it’s some arbitrary factor at all, but it also isn’t something to get upset about. If nothing more, it’s something to talk about during these doldrums.
No… it’s not a matter of, “IF TUA DOESN’T DO THIS… THEN…!!!”. It’s simple convo material, nothing more. Nothing to get overly excited about one way or the other.
Rock – I was saying it like a “Valley Girl”, this place is like social media. lol
A lot of people don’t come here very often anymore and I think it’s because of the negative vibes. It’s not like this team has no talent but it feels like that’s the case based on the commentary. Just saying.
In addition, “those people” can write sunshine and lollipops articles and come here and spew as much positivity as they can, but they’re not, and that’s on them, not on me. I say what I feel and they can too if they feel differently
Tim – it’s not a matter of only talent, it’s an overall feeling that this team is just run like shit. We went into the draft with huge holes at a lot of positions because we have no cap space. Then we basically fill 2 holes and start drafting key positions in RD 5 and we’re all supposed to feel good about it? Fuck that, my momma didn’t raise no dummy!
Wow, Chef Anne Burrell died. RIP
TK, I have much respect for you! Far more than Grier and company. I KNOW you know what it takes to win.
IFwe have NO injuries do you think this team as constructed to come even close …if so, how far
Based on projections and potential yes. I think the battle of attrition is paramount. Our pass rush could be lethal. That’s a big deal.
I will say, our best opportunity or strength will be through the D….the O side is one hit away, imo
Woo hoo. Go Panthers
My opinion is I think this is a 10 +/-1 win team. Pretty much the same thing I’ve picked for the last decade, it feels like. I don’t see a strong playoff contender. I don’t see a team built to win tough games on the road late in the season. I just don’t see it. Now, of course they could win 15 games. Anything is possible but being realistic isn’t being negative….and I don’t think saying this is a 10 win team is being negative. I think it is being clear eyed and reasonable….maybe even a little hopeful.
And I can still root just as hard every week for a win feeling that way. It doesn’t make me a worse fan.
We have to see what the LOS looks like.
Tim,
I think the OL has potential to be okay. I’m not sure it will be much more than that but it might if everything comes together and no injuries. You keep saying we have enough skilled talent if the OL comes thru, but that offensive talent hasn’t done a darn thing when it matters. I’m not sold they’re ready to beat good teams. I gotta see it. I hope we find a way to control the LOS, mostly on offense. We need to establish a running game
in 2023 the OL was good, injuries derailed, no 3rd down receiver or TE
2024 Jonnu helped, no OL
2025 if Jonnu stays along with Ikhine, and the OL is just avg we could have a pretty darn good O
PANTHERS WIN 👍👍
🐆🐆🐆🐆🐆🐆🐆🐆🐆🐆🐆🐆🐆🐆🐆🐆
Sam Reinhart with a Rat trick +1 WOW monster game for the Panthers!
BACK TO BACK CHAMPIONS BABY!!
Last time a player scored 4 points in a final was 1922. Over 100 years ago!
Wooooooooo hoooooooo!
Now get your shit together Dolphins!
I wish that somehow it could translate, but it won’t. Dolphins didn’t do anything when the Heat were really good either, or when the Panthers won the cup last year
Here, you want something positive? Terron Armstead thinks Tua is it!
https://dolphinstalk.com/2025/06/terron-armstead-believes-in-tua-wholeheartedly/
Now something not so positive . . .
https://www.pff.com/news/nfl-2025-running-back-unit-rankings
I would have expected to be ranked higher
rushing highs/lows are so OL dependant, even Barkley had some down years, when the Giants OL struggled
Ravens sign Jaire Alexander
Now that’s an organization that can make this work
sure, if he actually plays, if not they’ll be thin at CB
dead day today
I guess the blog could’ve used some of my bitching?
BBM went out on the boat today for some sun and fun.
Where’s the positivity??? Where’s the negativity??? Where’s Waldo?
Shedeur Sanders cited for speeding: Browns rookie quarterback clocked driving more than 100 mph in a 60 mph zone.

————-
1 year, $4M. I knew he’d come cheap, but not THAT cheap! Wish we could have landed him.
The other side of the coin? If Jaire’s ring-chasing, we probably didn’t have a chance.
Steve – yes, rushing is OL dependent. You feel good about being ranked #18? Sounds like despite signing James Daniels and getting the best OG in the draft, PFF isn’t impressed.
with Eichenberg and Jones they couldn’t get any push, Daniels, PP and Savaiinaea are physical and can push the pile
with Jones, Eichenberg then add a small C it was a disaster
big guys next to Brewer will at least give us a chance
Don’t give a shit about rankings, just like draft grades or schedule predictions, never read someone’s lame opinion, at least wait until the roster is complete on the record prediction
M – I think Alexander went to a better team, and more importantly, much better HC
I’d love to know if we even explored bringing Jaire into the fold, or if he was never even under consideration on OUR part.
And as such, I wonder if we’re even considering to bring ASJ into the fold, well knowing he’s going to cost a LOT MORE $$$.
According to Spotrac, we have just over $14M to spend at the moment. I’m beginning to get the feeling that $10M in carryover $$$ to next season would look very attractive to a new GM and/or HC.
its all relative, 10M is nice only if the cap is in a good place, ours isn’t quite, but 2026 should be getting better
2026 we’ll make some moves to fix or rid ourselves of some previously bad contracts
2027 will be good
Agreed, Steve.
We’ll still be behind the 8 ball, if we can’t convert on short yardage, would like to see a Conyers Wildcat package
M – we’ll never know but we may have reached out to Jaire and he wasn’t interested
That’s what I’d like to know: did we even reach out to Jaire? And of course, if he spurned us, we may never know in order to save face.
2026 and 2027 will only be good if we get rid of Grier and McDaniel. Obviously if we have a great season that won’t happen, but if things go like I expect them to, time to make the necessary changes
I just read Jaire signed for $6M
Read earlier that Jaire signed for $4M, and Spotrac reflects the same.
Doesn’t matter… we still need a CB, IMO.
the problem with him is there’s a good chance he doesn’t play more than half the season, if its not season ending, then he may be fine for a team like Baltimore, that expects to make the playoffs either way
a team like us, that needs him to play 12+ or so games to possibly make the playoffs, if he only plays like 7 or 8 he’s taking a spot away from someone else, that can help all season
its really a fine line, could we afford to take the risk?
he could’ve been available for a game or 2 against Buffalo to help us win one
I DON’T see it happening, but I maintain… if we’re going to trade Ramsey to the Rams, get Emmanuel Forbes in the deal. Forbes is a ZCB (zone CB), and he was asked to play in a system (Washington) that didn’t cater to his strengths.
Here in Miami, he’ll EAT playing zone.
we did reach out to Alexander
https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?fbid=1057901369814006&set=a.425943906343092
Thank you, Steve! Just found it on Twitter/X
@flasportsbuzz
Per source, Dolphins ended up calling on Jaire Alexander but didn’t feel comfortable making a competitive offer yet, until it can trade Ramsey. Alexander didn’t want to wait on anything after getting an opportunity with Baltimore, where he agreed to terms today (one year, $4 M, another $2 M in incentives).
👍
Maybe Grier needs to ask Ramsey what it would take to stay, if a trade doesn’t materialize
with the result, that if it isn’t met they’ll fire MM next year
and he wouldn’t have to communicate with the cupcake at all, just with Weaver
or tell him we’re having trouble trading you, because of your salary, either take a payout or you’re staying in Miami
not sure how that would effect team morale and possible a reason against it
What kind of nonsense are you coming up with now? Make a secret deal with a player and tell an assistant but not tell the head coach? That is some wild wacky shit man. I think you need to move on from this fantasy you have of Weaver sitting in the wings to become HC.
Not what I said
Mr. Negative (me) says this Ramsey situation is not going to end well for the Dolphins. Either we trade him and eat most of his contract money to get a 4th or 5th RD pick, or he just ends up getting released.
We can’t release him. It’s a much bigger 2025 cap hit. There must be a bunch of guaranteed money left on his base salary which we would have to eat if we release him. Only way not to eat that guaranteed base is to trade him.
Per Spotrac:
POST-6/1 RELEASE
2025 Dead Cap: $30,980,000
2026 Dead Cap: $18,468,000
2025 Savings: $-14,319,000
POST-6/1 TRADE
2025 Dead Cap: $10,745,000
2026 Dead Cap: $18,468,000
2025 Savings: $5,916,000
They said that Chubb’s contract was one of the top 5 worst. Ramsey’s has to be up there also.
Not necessarily the original contract but the restructure pushing all this guaranteed money down the road.
Say what you want about Ross. He opened his check book, Grier paid Ramsey up front then kicked all this guaranteed money down the road and now they are going to trade him. Ross is a business man and he can’t be happy tossing those millions away.
Mike Florio says (basically) if Ramsey is not traded before TC coupled with the fact that the Dolphins are done with him, the Dolphins could end up in a situation much like the 2021 Texans. This was when the Texans paid Watson to stay home when the season started because they couldn’t get him traded. They ended up paying him to stay home all season then traded him to the Browns the next offseason.
The saving grace would be an injury to another teams starting CB between now and the start of the season or by the trade deadline. Would probably have to be a team considered a contender though.
Well I officially joined the “Old F’s club”
You can call me Grampa now!
7lbs baby girl, and she didn’t inherit my ears!
Congratulations Wyoming! I am envious. I never wanted to be a parent, but now that I’m old I wish I had some grand kids to spoil.
I need to find myself a GILF. LOL
Thanks
Congratulations Grandpa!!!
My granddaughter (only grandchild) is coming to visit us here in FL for the first time since being born. She’s 5yo now. My daughter sent me a picture of my granddaughter holding her new fishing pole. Says she wants grandpa to teach her how to fish.
You know that got BBM in the feels.
I remember some fishing pics you posted way back. I’m happy to hear she didn’t get your ears either. lol
Thanks
I hope she has more patience for fishing than her Dad did!
Rock, I got one for you. My wife’s friend is an attractive GILF. She’s still in her 40’s. She’s Mexican but rather tall for a Mexican woman, about 5’8. In good shape and big knockers. She’s independent, owns her home and has a good Civil Service job on NAS Pensacola.
You would have to just get past her being one of the most judgmental bitches on the planet, that’s all. Also, you would have to ignore her critiquing everything you do that she doesn’t like.
LOL Thanks BBM. I’ll got with “too far from South Florida” as my reason. The rest I can deal with. I mean, who’s wife or girlfriend isn’t judgmental or critical? LOL
Congrats Wyoming! That’s awesome. I’m jealous.
Thanks

Former Miami Dolphins tackle Terron Armstead is a bit more confident about the Dolphins’ chances at success. The former Pro Bowler appeared on Unsportsmanlike on ESPN radio this morning, singing the praises of his former quarterback while noting that the team’s success relies on Tua, Phillips, and Chubb remaining healthy. When asked why Dolphins fans should have confidence in Tua Armstead had this to say.
“I wholeheartedly believe in Tua. I believe in his ability. I’ve seen him snap into a mode that looks familiar to me, like Drew Brees. That’s why I have no problem making that comparison, that consistency of him snapping into that like assassin mode, that sniper mode, that’s that championship DNA that we want to see more consistently. I believe he can do it, I believe he can if we can keep him upright. I think the Dolphins season comes down to Tua’s availability, and if we can get Bradley Chubb and Jaelan Phillips healthy.”
