This team was just an utter embarrassment today. We all know “Any Given Sunday”, but this team just looked thoroughly unprepared, outmatched, outclassed, outplayed, outcoached, there wasn’t one facet of the game where you can say “Well, at least we did that”. You have to keep everything in perspective because it’s just one game, but some of us kinda saw this coming, felt it, because despite the hype machine feeding us the “new culture”, the “We’re not soft anymore”, there are quite a few of us here who just didn’t buy that crap. Now to be fair, I did expect us to show well Week 1 because we have as long as QB Tua Tagovailoa has been the QB. Week 1 has never been his problem, he flourished and played very well the other 4 years, perhaps with the exception of last year when Jason Sanders and Jevon Holland were the heroes in a 20-17 victory last season, but in 2023, Tua was great in a 36-34 duel with the Chargers, and 2022, a 20-7 victory over the New England Patriots, not a great game by Tua, but a win nonetheless once again against the New England Patriots. The Dolphins don’t struggle early, they just usually show a complete lack of intestinal fortitude and fold down the stretch run at the end of the season, so we’re in new territory.
So where do we go from here? This was supposed to be the easy part of the schedule where we were supposed to be 4-1 with potentially the only blemish against the Buffalo Bills. We go home and face off against the New England Patriots who had a tough loss of their own this week at the hands of the unheralded Las Vegas Raiders, 20-13. Both teams will have a chip on their shoulder and I guess we’ll have to see who knocks off the others chip first. The Patriots couldn’t run the ball, but those of you who routinely poke fun about the NE QB Drake Maye, he was far from the problem. The Patriots ran 18 times for 60. Maye was 30-46 for 287 yards 1 TD, 1 INT.
Let’s talk about our Dolphins, shall we? We pretty much get that this team goes as Tua does and Tua took us to the mat early and made sure we stayed pinned down there. Tua managed only 14-23 for a paltry 114 yards, 1 TD, 2 INT’s and 1 FUMBLE lost, 3 turnovers in all. Yeah, we made fun of the Colts defense because they recently signed Ole Methuselah Xavien Howard to start at CB. Somehow, Methuselah outlasted our young guys as Storm Duck left the game early and wasn’t seen again. We had 12 rushing attempts all day, and had possession of the football all of 21:17. We got 12 first downs compared to the juggernaut Indianapolis Colts with Danny Dimes at the helm.
Well, how about that vaunted front 7 of the Miami Dolphins. Yeah, even I thought they could be good.We managed 1 sack, but they never really seemed to be in the game, and with certainty, had no impact on the game. The Colts did as they pleased, Danny Dimes threw for 272 yards and 1 TD, no INT’s. Hey, Colts rookie TE Tyler Warren looked great against us, we still can’t cover a TE and I’m guessing we may never succeed in that regard. Warren had 7 receptions for 76 yards, breaking tackles with nifty moves or just powering through would be tacklers. Never mind that, we have Darren Waller, so don’t fret!
So now the Tyreek “Trade Clock” begins, and that fucker will continue to tick until this team shows any semblance of being a prepared, winning team. They didn’t give us one inkling towards that today, and McDaniel, his playcalling, ability to adjust to in game situations was so way below par, but maybe some home cooking is what this team needs. Markey, Tim, I’m not calling you out here, but I’m guessing after today you both have to have your doubts about what we actually have for a team here, with Mike McDaniel as the Head Coach and Chris Grier the GM hand picking the talent you’ve seen him assemble, or perhaps the lack thereof?
The good thing is the season has just begun, and a win next week, even an ugly win gets us even and then you move on from there. I think even Markey and Tim would admit we can’t afford to see a similar effort next week as we witnessed today. The paper bag fans will be out in droves, and Hard Rock Stadium which barely gives us an edge as far as Dolphins fans attendance vs Opponents Attendance will hit rock bottom as fans will be selling their seats and find other things to do in the beautiful Florida climate.
The Buffalo Bills face off against the Baltimore Ravens this evening at 8:20 at new Highmark Stadium, the new home of the AFC EAST perennial Champs. It’s not going to be easy, it never is against a well prepared team with a great Head Coach with a .623 winning % in John Harbaugh. It just so happens that Bills Head Coach has a .656 winning %, which is better than Harbaugh’s. Plus, the Bills are home, christening their new stadium on Sunday Night Football, but, if somehow the Ravens do beat the Bills, all of the AFC East will be even up at 0-1. Will that make me feel better? Not even a little bit. I doubt very highly that the Bills won’t give the Ravens a dogfight even if they somehow lose out in the end, but our team was a shitshow and even though you all know I don’t think very much of our HC, GM or roster, I was appalled by just how bad we looked today. This just will not do, and if it continues, HEADS MUST ROLL!!!!
GO DOLPHINS!!!

Extremely disappointing
Where are you at right now? Do you think this was just a fluke or do you have legitimate concerns about this team now?
I have legitimate concerns my season projections are in doubt.
Look at the bright side. We are still tied for 1st place in the division and the worst we will be after this weekend is 1 game out of first.
Yes, but we looked worse than any team in the NFL, including our 2 division opponents who lost today.
Means nothing next game
How many games do we need to see if the same issues that have been here the last year and a half are still obviously present?
They have opened up my dark side, and I am headed to Negativeville!
I predicted this loss just as I predicted this being our worst roster since Cam Cameron was the HC. This roster is dogshit thanks to the worst GM in the NFL and a HC who cares more about his “style”on the sidelines and being friends with the players.
7-10 is the absolute best this team can be but they are much worse than that! I hope everyone gets fired and traded. Gut this team and start new
Markey – The reason I feel that Grier has assembled a poor roster is because we have no margin for error. We can’t afford an injury on the O-line because the depth there is weak. We can’t afford to have Tua not play at a high level because we Achane is great when he has room but can’t create room on his own, and MM won’t/can’t trust a rookie like Ollie Gordon. Today was a bit different because we just never had the ball in this one, partly because Tua was a turnover machine, 2 INT’s and 1 fumble. I know you saw this too, it’s not just me, but our backup Qb never looks prepared, EVER!!!! Zach Wilson looked lost, and he was scared, he was just rifling awful inaccurate passes to no one. Tua also looked unprepared, and he was unprepared. How did not see that pass rusher coming? Teams like the Bills and ravens, a lot of things have to go wrong for them to have a game like this, for us, we truly need everything to go right. That’s the difference in the talent on the rosters, it’s not even close.
You might be right after that pathetic showing today!
We are here and will welcome you with open arms Markey. 😄
Thank you..
I need to get my mind right 🙂
I try to be positive about this team, but there was no change in any kind of philosophy today.
I am officially tired of watching this crap.
My only hope is that we do not some how go 8-9. Either win the SB (😂) or get the top pick with a different FO and coach.
I agree that the worst thing would be to win just enough to lose out on a top 10 pick.
And to keep this current staff
It’s nice to have the positivity here to balance out all of the realists.
That’s true – It will be a more miserable place to visit, although they do say misery loves company! 🙂
HELLO MISERY!!!!
🙂 🙂 🙂
That is interesting. Realists are real, so if you have a great team realists are also have positivity, but and if you’re team sucks the realist is negative. 😃
A few extra words there, sorry
Markey – Coaching is huge too. I don’t think we have the right guy either. Harbaugh, Tomlin, McDermott all win. Now Tomlin is the outlier because although he had Big Ben for a good amount of time, he really hasn’t had a QB like Allen or Jackson to lean on. He still wins, and continuity is a good thing when you find the right guy. We haven’t, and I also feel like we don’t have the right guy at QB either, so you keep trying to find one until you hit. Tua’s a mid level guy who can play near tier 2 against weaker teams but hasn’t shown the ability to play like that against the better teams. We need a QB that can if we want to be perennial contenders
Watching the Chiefs game made me sick.
Bookman – YES to your 7:22 post. lol
I am a pig that flies
so it’s only right that I mention the possibility of this being our worst game of the year
it might be a fluke – and it’s a long season….but it might be a really long season too….
there were a couple of things I needed to see to feel good about our offseason and I don’t think we saw any of them
some I saw before we snapped the ball
literally this team did everything they could have done to loook worse than last year
just an absolute mess today
they have to fix A LOT if this game was just a fluke
still on track to go 14-3 though….
🐖💨💨💨💨💨
LOL!
still on track to go 3 – 4 though…
3-14
I got nothing, awful performance.
Pathetic performance. Season hope out the window in first half. Grier and McDaniel must go.
I think we’re rope-a-doping the league right now. Everybody will look at today and say the Fins are done, then we move like a butterfly and sting like a bee from here on out. Boom!!
Bookman,
I really appreciate guys like you and Tim. It’s hard to be optimists as a Dolphins fan. Takes a lot of patience. I can’t be that kind of fan unless I truly believe it and I haven’t since early last year. Two years ago, we dominated bad teams with some creative pre-snap movement. They changed the rules against McD’s ideas but that was fine. I thought, we’ll just adjust a few things since we still competed ok in those games.
Then he remakes the offense into the Patriots dink and dunk. Somehow, we couldn’t produce like them and that’s when I knew we were in trouble. Why would an offensive genius go straight to dink and dunk once his creative idea was stymied? It made no sense. He also never adjusted to the 2 deep safety counter the first year or any of the counters last year. We just continued doing the same shit every week. That made no sense either until I figured it out. McDaniel isn’t a good coach at all. He had one good idea and that was it.
So, even if Grier was amazing as a GM, and he’s not, how could we win with a HC who couldn’t coach but wouldn’t let anyone else play-call? The answer is we can’t. And his type of coaching not only turns off some players, it also turns off some good coaches like Fangio. That was my other sign we were in trouble. If great experienced positional coaches won’t coach for you, then what kind of HC are you? The answer is a really bad one.
So, thanks for being a great fanatic. And thanks to Tim as well. It’s not going to get better unfortunately for all of us.
New Age – the Fangio situation was a no win for us, he never really wanted to be here. He wanted to be back in Philly and once that was facilitated he couldn’t wait to go back. Grier sucks just as much as Mike McDaniel as far as I’m concerned
True but do you remember how much tension there was between him and McD right before that happened? It wasn’t all just wanting to be in Philly! It was also to get away from a bad HC.
16-1 still gets you into the playoffs, doesn’t it? 🙂
that’s right!
Mike you’re sadistic😜
my last thoughts before the game, which I posted, were we’d come out flat, just like last year’s opener, hoping we could pull it out at the end
MMs years 1 and 2 weren’t so soft, I can only believe some of Flores’ players held over made that possible, by yr 3 they were all gone
end this nightmare MM created already
Grier created it; MM is facilitating it.
they both need to go, and add Ross, Tua and Tyreek too
Like I’ve stated before, Ross isn’t going anywhere- he owns the team. His daughters are next in line. Maybe they’ll do better. I think that Ross has done a good job of trying to win, and trying to build a winner over the years. You can’t fault him for that. The one thing I do question him on is keeping.Grier for as long as he has with the mediocre and poor results that we have produced Throughout his tenure
We aren’t going to be this bad for the rest of the season, but it’s still not going to look great. I still feel about right with my 9-8 prediction, but it will probably be 7 or 8 wins. The thing that really bothers me about today is it looked so similar to last season and the latter part of 2023. Really nothing has changed on offense. And that’s a big fucking problem.
mostly there’s no passion, they just go thru the motions, just like their coach
Maybe. I bet the Pats are better than Indy though. Do you think we go 9-8 if we lose to the Pats next week?
No chance

Maybe Nostradamus was right; the world is going to end in 2025
didn’t it just?
😂
Wow it only took one game to break Markeyh… 😱
Tua is not a leader either. He’s also really stupid. Dude can’t admit fault. This is one of the most delusional things I’ve heard in a bit. “I thought that was a wild comment, that I turn the ball over in bunches. That’s crazy.”
“According to ESPN Research, Sunday marked Tagovailoa’s seventh game with at least three turnovers since entering the league in 2020, second only to the Jaguars‘ Trevor Lawrence.”
Not second in that draft class, second in the entire NFL at turning the damn ball over in droves. The guy who has only played in 65 games only trails the dude who has played 60 in one fewer year. Tua has basically had 3+ turnover games in 10% of the games he has played. That’s crazy as fuck. Crazy terrible.
Imagine starting a dude who thinks personally losing the ball and the game almost twice a year is ok. What kind of stupid is that? Dude personally ensures we lose at least one game every year with terrible play. Mahomes never does that. Herbert, Burrow, etc. Even Lawrence doesn’t defend it. How stupid!
New Age – I don’t have a doubt that MM and Fangio clashed. I mean MM was/is concerned about their feelings while Fangio was just trying to get these guys to do what they needed to do when they needed to do it. There will be no culture change until McDaniel is gone. On the other hand, I’m not allowing Grier to pick one more player in a draft or even more important, choose the next Head Coach. Not a fucking chance!
I think McD sinks Grier as well so no worries. I don’t want Grier at all, but I don’t put him in the same boat as McD. Dude has drafted some good players and picked up some talented FAs. So, he’s done some good things. Name me the good things McD has done since the NFL changed pre-snap motion and teams figured him out. Just one good thing he’s done.
Those two leaving also gets rid of Tua. I honestly can’t wait. You don’t reward failures for failure. You find better people.
Granted, but he can’t build a team…he puts parts/pieces together….
anybody could do as well as Chris Greer in the draft with a blindfold and a set of darts
the HCs are on Ross, he’s looking for the next Shula
how about trying something different, IDK maybe one with some exp
On a positive note, we are #4 in Tankathon’s 2026 mock draft now. 😉
Have faith! We could be #1. As long as we clean house after I think that will be the best scenario for this organization
Oh, I agree. Just because I liked this year’s draft, it doesn’t mean I don’t want Grier & MM gone.
there’s no way the officiating crew saw the ball hit Buffalo first, they must’ve had the head piece in and got a review
New Age – He gave Tua confidence, someone who believed in him. Tua was in a bad place after Flores was so mean to him. MM called him and kissed his ass so hard it was love at first sight! LOL. That’s all I got!
I thought it was weird when MM called Tua from the private jet after he accepted the position.
https://x.com/CamHeywardFan/status/1964795589545394517
lol
early, early SB predictions
KC and Detroit are done, playoff winner between these 2 teams plays Philly
Bri – it was over the top, but I think Tua really ate it up. I think he’s a “Frajeel” in more ways than one
it was the right move because that’s what Tua needed. It just seems kind of odd to me.

So, I take it that it is not too early to think about new HC candidates. I have no clue this day and age.
I think we have to see how the team responds and let September play out
Our next 3 games are division games so we can wipe out today with a good showing
Is the Highmark Stadium field synthetic turf? That sucks!
Henry has 123 yards on only 9 carries at the half. He’s unreal.
Every team I watched today looks so much more ready and Insync.
2019
bout the 5th PI on Bills not called, TD Nuke
and why the good teams are hard to beat, they get the calls, when they need em or no calls
Lamar shoves a fan, for sure no suspension will result
Fan slapped his helmet. He should have knocked the shit out of him.
looks like the entire division is going to be 0-1
not so fast, Bills will have the ball down 1 score with a chance to tie, they always do, sometimes with a little help from the zebras
I hate watching other teams. Shows how far away Fins are to even being competitive against these teams.
They have absolutely nothing going for them.
^
I don’t, not as much emotion, until a bad call or a stupid play happens against the team Im rooting for
Derrick Henry is a freak of freaks. Almost would go as far as saying he could be the MATT ROTH of RB’s.
😂
First place
You have to be shitting me
I told you Piggy
Gotta give you props on that one. It looked over when you wrote it.
Just a couple of tweaks and we could match these teams.
Baltimore playing the 4th qtr not to lose
Now that was an entertaining game.
Bills are fun to watch. Really sad that to watch good football I have to watch our competitors.
That was Steve’s fault. He called it.
Also, I rescind that Matt Roth reference on Henry.
Bills rookie CB who I wanted us to draft, Dorian Strong, had a solid game for the Bills. Bills got a steal on getting Strong in the 6th round, pick 177.
Post Week 1 Mock Draft
10. Garrett Nussmeier QB LSU
42. A.J. Harris CB Penn State
74. Oscar Delp TE Georgia
83. Jude Bowry OT Boston College
107. Zeke Berry CB Michigan
139. Chris Brazzell II WR Tennessee
203. R Mason Thomas EDGE Oklahoma
Yes please
I admire some of the optimistic ‘it’s only 1 game’ comments on here. If only that were true. That game was symptomatic of where we are at as an organisation in my mind. Lost, rudderless and broken.
I used to get so nervous and hyped b4 games. No more. I will still waste 3 hours of my holiday next Sunday tuning in but certainly won’t tune in to the prime time Bills game to watch an execution live on air.
We are so far away from being a contender I despair. Our play off win drought will certainly be extended another year. Clueless top to bottom. As I said last night, the only thing I’d consider is giving Wheeler the reins to see if he might have what it takes. Otherwise we’re a broken clock that will be right twice a day but is feck all use to anyone and not fit for purpose. So sad 😞
it was only one game, but we look light years behind the Bills. I don’t think we are as bad as we showed yesterday, but we are definitely not even close to the level of them.
I agree
its 1 game, MM doesn’t know how to get his team ready, let alone all the young players we have
MM now has everyone’s attention, no more arrogance, if there was any, no more excuses, if they aren’t ready to play Sunday and lose to the cheats, might as well fire him
Listening to the Joe Rose Show this morning. He said the guys came out ready to show everyone the “New Culture”, that they weren’t going to take any shit anymore, they thought they were just going to walk on the field and be good.
WTF is wrong with this team? They disgust me!
There was a comedian, a female comedian back in the 80’s and her name was Margaret Smith. She joked that she didn’t want to wear red lipstick because if her jokes weren’t funny, everyone would notice these bad jokes coming out of her mouth with this bright red lipstick. She said it’s like an outfielder that can’t catch wearing a paisley mitt. That could be how it is for us against the Jets if they crush at home wearing those dumbass jerseys!
https://x.com/i/status/1964692339051692149
OMFG that is hilarious!
New Age,
I am usually optimistic every off season because you never know what the season will bring. Then the season starts………….lol
I try to be, but I have no faith in McDaniel. I think he’s a Joe Philbin type coach but with less experience and less desire to be good at something. He’s too nonchalant for me as a HC. You gotta have some drive. My original win/loss prediction was 10-7 which I wasn’t going to put out until I actually saw how we played this week. Let’s say I’ve readjusted quickly lol.
When I see MM on the sideline when they are losing that badly and I see the way he looks and is dressed, I can’t help but think of Elaine when she said to Kramer: “You stupid hipster doofus!”
So……did any of our young guys look good?
2nd yr Malik Washingon did ok. I’d rather have 6 of him than a Tyreek headcase and 5 others
The Colts are the 1st team since 1977 to score on every one of their possessions in a game.
UK,
Thanks! I think I saw a blurb that the Colts were also like 0-10-1 in their last 11 season openers….or something like that.
Exactly Randy – we shat the bed in historical style
Soon to be 0-4. I’m all for it if that means house is finally cleaned out.
I’ve saw enough of MM last year. To come out and have the same issues to start the year is unacceptable. Team probably is as tired of listening to him as we are.
They say to dress for the job you want, so he can go sell Adderall to college kids.
OK, here we go. Just some random thoughts after yesterday.
Is Miami as bad as they looked yesterday? Probably not, but they are not very good either. Does Miami have talent on the team? Absolutely, and they have better overall talent in most areas than Indy. …At least on paper. Does Miami have a better team than Indy? Absolutely not, and yesterday proved that. Talent doesn’t always win, but the better team usually does. They outplayed Miami as a whole and it wasn’t even close. If you win in the trenches and win the turnover battle, you will win.
Also, don’t get me going on injuries. Miami can never use that as an excuse, with their track record of drafting and trading for players with injury history. This whole things starts at the top. The owner, GM, and coach are the most at fault, no doubt. Unfortunately, we can’t fire the owner, but Grier and MM need to go. It’s also time we think about investing in a QB very early in the draft, not 7th round.
IF we somehow get our groove back and make a push for the post-season (LOL), we’re always going to go back to this game, realizing that it should have been a win.
EVERY GAME COUNTS. To come out the gates this unprepared is simply unacceptable, and it may end up costing us a Wildcard berth in the end.
Seems we do this to ourselves nearly every year since the turn of the millennium.
IF we trade ‘Reek before the deadline, you know it’s over for Coach McD. But the question becomes… who gets gone first? Coach McD or ‘Reek?
Why do I say this? Because we’ll be building a war-chest of Draft picks for the next Draft and HC.
And hopefully the next GM.
In order to move up for the best QB available in the ’26 Draft.
I would look to trade Chubb too, if we can.
Absolutely, if we can.
If this BS continues, I shall dub this season as… “The March to Arch (Manning)”. Haven’t heard ANYBODY use that one yet in the media, so I think it’s MINE!
I also like “Canning for Manning”. Haven’t heard that one yet, either.
MM and Tua are 6-9 last 15 games Tua played. 14 INT and 8 fumbles.
Yeah we got a problem. His presser infuriated me as usual. Nonchalant attitude and arrogance from a mid tier QB. Thank God Grief had to pay him before he earned the right to free agency.
Tua’s just one more hit away from becoming scrambled eggs. We MUST draft a QB early in ’26.
Grief majorly screwed up in paying him.
WOW!!! Didn’t realize this!!!
@danorlovsky7
This is insane to me: Today is one worth monitoring It is the 1 year anniversary of Tyreek Hill’s last catch that exceeded 30 yards.
I hate to say this, but that is NOT on ‘Reek! That’s a failure of Coach McD being able to scheme, and a failure on GM Grief to have a secure O-Line (including injuries) to pave for a running game.
If you can run the ball, it drops one of the 2-high Safeties that we’ve faced for over a year.
FAILURE!
Didn’t realize this, either!
@PER4ORM
What a second — Willie Gay didn’t play a singular defensive down on Sunday?!

I’m dumbfounded at how bad they played. I predicted 6 wins and that was one of them, and that team we saw will struggle to win ONE game. And now losing a starting CB (who isn’t good anyway) and a starting OL-man, with no depth, it’s only going to get worse. I do think that even in the early 17-0 hole, that they shouldn’t have abandoned the run. A nice run-heavy drive that ended in a score could have provided some momentum and a rest for the D. But for the life of me, I don’t understand the playcalling. Achane will get 8 yards, then they call a stupid pass that takes too long to develop and now it’s 3rd down. Baffled.
Same here. Baffled.
Everyone is talking about Arch, which I get, but I have 2 others that I really like. …they are Nussmeier and John Mateer. I’m not going to say love yet because there have only been 2 QBs that I loved coming out since Peyton, and they were Andrew Luck and Joe Burrow.
I didn’t love Luck because I knew he was out of our reach and didn’t want an AFC team to nab. I loved Burrow. We should have had him too. Fucking Flores. I did love the Luck Twitter account though.
So, I predicted yesterday’s loss, but I thought it would be a closer game. I have the next three weeks as losses too. (Digging our way into never competing in the division) I think I may want to reconsider my overall prediction of 6 wins. I think it will be closer to 3 or 4 wins the way we looked yesterday.
NO I do NOT think that yesterday was an anomaly. NO I do NOT think they will get better during the season. I think they will get lucky and win a few, but luck will be heavy in the factoring of those wins.
The good thing is that I DO believe we have a few young players that are worth keeping and that they will get better and MAYBE just MAYBE still be around by the time we rebuild again.
Just rewatched the highlights of yesterday’s game. On 2 occasions where Tua got sacked, we should have employed a blocking TE.
One sack (the Tua fumble), a DB was just waiting for Alec Ingold to go in motion to the side opposite him. As soon as Ingold moved, the DB moved to the LOS. It left Achane as the only blocker to protect Tua. Fake handoff to Achane, and then Achane began to step upfield to continue his route… then realized the DB blitz… too late… couldn’t even chip him. Tua should have seen it coming, but probably thought Achane would chip. Too much BS going in our backfield and to the left side, leaving Tua exposed on his right. Never should have tried the fake handoff with so little protection.
Another sack, we had a TE in (can’t get his number, but it doesn’t matter). Defender rushes through our non-blocking TE, Achane can’t block him, Tua steps up in the pocket, but the same Defender who was rushing comes back around to sack Tua.
WE NEED A BLOCKING TE, DAMMIT!!!
AND DARREN WALLER AIN’T THE ONE!!!
Kenyon Sadiq-Oregon
Yessir!!!
Man I didn’t even go through my seasonal changes of Avatars this year. I usually start off with Kool-aide, then slide to Nonplussed, then I devolve to Freakout and then finally to Mushroom Cloud.
This year I never achieved Kool-Aide status, was never even nonplussed. I went from Mushroom Cloud down to Freak out for a few weeks and after one regular season game I’ve seen enough to go back to BLOW IT THE F ALL UP again.
I’m about ready to go Darth Maul avatar after yesterday’s game… and I just might yet.
@PFF_RyanSmith
Highest-graded #Dolphins in Week 1: LT, Patrick Paul – 84.9 LB, Tyrel Dodson – 76.3 C, Aaron Brewer – 70.8 * The only 3 players that played 25+ snaps and graded higher than 70.0
I’m almost afraid to look at the overall PFF grades for yesterday’s game with the above being stated.
Yea, Oregon’s TE Kenyon Sadiq and OT Isaiah World would both be great additions imo.
Coach McD says both James Daniels and Storm Duck will likely miss the next couple of weeks. Neither believed to be season-ending.
Austin Jackson is dealing with a toe issue, trying to find out more.
Benito Jones is week-to-week, can’t rule him in or out for this Sunday.

Colts 33-8 over Dolphins (Click here for full recap)
So Jackson didn’t practice all off season because of his toe. Then in the first real game action he got this season….he aggravated the toe injury… How long until they put him on IR for that toe? (Bet 100.00 they do!)
Like it would matter!
McDaniel said tight end Darren Waller, who was ruled out Friday for the Colts game because of a hip injury, would try to do everything in his power to be ready for the New England game or at least the Buffalo game.

I would look to trade Chubb too, if we can.
——–
Chubb is tradable. It would create a significant dead cap hit but still clear cap at 1.2m this year and 7.3m next year.
A team trading for Chubb by the deadline would get him VERY cheap this year at only 1.2m but cost them almost 20m next year. Though, getting him for 2yrs at about 21m is a steal.
Think Cowboys who lost Parsons.
Soooooo, it looks like, (if we don’t get any more injuries in practice this week) our starting Oline for the game next week against the Patriots (An upcoming loss) will be:
Patrick Paul
Jonah Savaiinaea
Aaron Brewer
Kon Smith
Larry Borom
with Julian Hill and Tanner Conner “helping” on the edge…..
Might as well start Zach Wilson behind that line.
We were soooo done with Eich. Now we can’t wait until he’s ready to play. That sucks.
Thing about trading Tyreek, he is ONLY tradable this year to a team who needs him. No team is going to pay him that crazy money next year. He would not be expensive to a team for the rest of this season, about 10m. Tyreek will be cut by the Dolphins after this season or by the team who trades for him during the season.
A team cutting Tyreek after a short rental this year won’t affect them in 2026 as all his guaranteed money in on the Dolphins so it would be a good deal for a team to get him.
Yep, Tyreek and Chubb both need to be traded. We need as many picks as possible to move around if we need to go and get a QB. …Not a RB!!!!
for what it’s worth
Marcel Louis-Jacques
Storm Duck and James Daniels are expected to miss “weeks” per Mike McDaniel Austin Jackson (toe) needs further evaluation and Benito Jones is considered week to week

Yea, Oregon’s TE Kenyon Sadiq and OT Isaiah World would both be great additions imo.
————–
Who really knows, but as far as the SIM goes, both of them are always gone by pick #42 or else they would have been on BBM’s previous mocks.
Yea, if we need to go with QB early, we probably lose the chance to get World. Sadiq may be there if we are picking very early in round 2. Obviously, things will change and players will move up and down drafts boards before April.
PSU guys, how has OT Nolan Rucci looked for them? Heard a lot about him preseason but all the SIM’s have him a late 6th to UDFA.
IDK, haven’t seen a PSU game yet this year, but I do love the way AJ Harris plays CB.
PSU will have a lot of guys draft eligible. Preseason rankings had them with the most 2026 draft picks.
So nobody wants to bet me that they will put Jackson on IR for this toe injury that he’s had all off-season that flared up again?
Heck no, you’re probably going to be right.
Xavien Howard says Colts forced Tagovailoa into ‘panic mode’
INDIANAPOLIS — Former Miami Dolphins star and current Indianapolis Colts cornerback Xavien Howard on Monday offered a stinging assessment of Dolphins quarterback Tua Tagovailoa in the wake of Sunday’s Colts victory over the Dolphins.
Howard, signed by the Colts last month — 18 months after his release from Miami — said the Colts left Tagovailoa hapless during the 33-8 Indianapolis victory.

“We knew the guy, he gets the ball out pretty quick,” Howard said. “And once we take away his first read, I feel like it’s panic mode after that. And it showed yesterday. We took away his first read and he was trying to get rid of the ball real quick.”
Howard might have a point. Tagovailoa seemed rushed at times during the game and did not react well to pressure and the Colts’ varied coverages. He had two interceptions, including one thrown to defensive end Laiatu Latu, who fooled Tagovailoa by dropping into zone coverage. Tagovailoa also committed a fumble when he was sacked by nickel cornerback Kenny Moore II on a blitz.
After the game, Latu offered sentiments similar to Howard’s.
“You could just tell with the big eyes and him getting flustered,” he said of Tagovailoa.
It was Tagovailoa’s seventh game since entering the league in 2020 with at least three turnovers. Only Jacksonville’s Trevor Lawrence has more over the same span. Tagovailoa posted a career-low 2.7 QBR in the game, the worst by a Dolphins starting quarterback since Josh Rosen’s 2.2 against Washington in 2019. Tagovailoa finished 14 of 23 for 114 yards and the Dolphins were scoreless until 6:21 remained in the fourth quarter.
……
Basically MM being outcoached with no ability to adjust during the game for the 100th time.
Tua was awful yesterday from the opening snap.
The team actually looked softer (to me) yesterday and I can’t even comprehend how that might have been possible, but it was. That is squarely on MM, imo.
Tua’s best play was the slide!!! And, I’m not fucking kidding! Excellent slide….lol.
Dolphins legend didn’t hold back after watching Miami’s Week 1 abomination
If this isn’t what you feel, you should

Dolphins @ Colts – NFL Game Recap for September 07, 2025
Miami Dolphins fans were livid after the team’s opening-season loss to the Colts. It wasn’t the fact they lost as much as it was the way they lost. It’s a feeling shared by Dolphins legend and Pro Football Hall of Famer, Larry Csonka.
Csonka knows a thing or two about winning and losing, and he knows an awful lot about being prepared to play a football game. The Dolphins looked as though they had slept through the entire offseason and woke up to play a game.
Following the game, Csonka took to social media to make sure everyone who cares, knew, he wasn’t happy with what he watched on Sunday.Larry Csonka is getting fed up with what little the Dolphins bring to the league.
Csonka published a post that said, “Unprepared. Uninspired. Unacceptable,” and it couldn’t be said any better.
Fans are still reeling from the loss and the way the team played as a whole. Not one element of the team played well. The defense struggled with getting pressure on Daniel Jones and stopping their receivers, and they couldn’t consistently stop the run either.
If the defense was bad, the offense was considerably worse. Tua Tagovailoa and company produced eight points that came late in the game when it was out of reach. Tagovailoa threw two interceptions and fumbled. He was erratic, out of sync, and more importantly, failed to show even a sliver of leadership.
Miami’s focus this offseason has been on changing the culture, changing the physicality of their play, and bonding as a team. The only thing they did against the Colts was bond in their lack of preparation.
Many fans are pointing to this being just one game of 17, but this Dolphins team cannot afford to lose games they should be able to win. Make no mistake: Miami should be able to beat the Daniel Jones-led Colts.
Mike McDaniel has a lot of work to do before they take on the Patriots next week at home, but there is so much to clean up that it’s uncertain if they can. McDaniel’s approach to coaching the team is failing, and there are not enough clichés or excuses to hide behind.
_______
LOL….what does Csonka know?!
The Pets are a perfect next game for us. Vrabel always has a physical team, but they are still bereft of talent. If we are ill prepared, look bad and get pushed around by that team, MM’s time left with the team might be numbered in weeks rather than months.
We need a complete reset, the HC and GM need to go, and another mediocre season might not be enough to jettison both. I want us to spectacularly crash and burn. A conflagration might be just the thing we need to clear out all the crap.
It was a bad game but it was one game. We need to see a few more before going to the extremes.
not if you open your eyes and take off the aqua and orange glasses.
I for one have seen enough
My point has nothing to do with that. If we play poorly against the Pats at home it’s going to get very loud. I’m not very confident in this team right now either.
i was there before this game. This game just reinforced it for me
I think McD is out after the Jets blow us out. Ross set that early release mark with Philbin. If McD gets blown three times in four, it will eerily mirror that season too. I don’t think Ross can handle a recent doorstop crushing us at home.
Even if we slide past the Pats, the Bills will blow us out and I really think the Jets will too. They looked really damn good this week. I don’t see us stopping that O and they will stop us. They should have won yesterday.
yeah, I’m thinking 0-3 against the division with a couple of bad losses gets er done.
my fear is that Ross keeps Grier for some inexplicable reason.
I don’t think he can. At least in the same position. That’s three strike outs for Grier on coaches?
So glad I didn’t watch the preseason and so sorry I saw the first game of the season…lol
Tim’s right, it’s only 1 game. You can’t fire anyone for one game, but if you take into account that they have been on shaky ground since last season and could have been fired then, the clock is ticking each game.
I agree I said something similar to Rock above. I was talking with my friend who’s also a Phins fan and he’s ready to move on from MM and Grier but he still believes in Tua. Many of us see it in different ways.
If we start 0-3 and look bad in the next two games I think McDaniel will be fired and Weaver becomes the interim head coach.
@Schultz_Report
#Cardinals rookie CB Will Johnson had a sensational debut on Sunday. The 2nd-round pick out of Michigan posted a 90.2 coverage grade (2nd-highest per PFF), with 3 PBUs and sticky coverage all game. Elite instincts. Physical. Lockdown ability. Arizona has something special here.
Who thought we should draft this guy?!! *whistles*
But of course
I am focusing on the important things this weekend, not Tuas or the Oline performance, not the defense, not the lack of effort, but more importantly if the hipster doofus continues to wear the knicker sweat pants.
He is a strange bird. My friend said to me last night we should have hired Dan Campbell because he has that Bill Cowher presence to him.

Umm, uhh, I…, and…, but…, uhh…, we…, umm, and…
It’s PAINFUL to listen to Coach McD! Reminds me of… a certain president off teleprompter… same number as Chop…
Imagine how the team feels.
I don’t know how you hire McDaniel for an important position based off his communication skills. Did he even dress up for the interview? I just can’t imagine paying a guy millions to coach who doesn’t radiate the least bit of professionalism. Who has problems communicating in a clear fashion. Grier definitely shouldn’t have a voice in the next group, but Ross doesn’t seem like he should either. I wonder if his daughter is already making some of the decisions? I can’t imagine she could do worse, but it is Dolphins ownership.
Tua is a fail. All he’ll do from this point on is hinder this team. He’s not the answer to anything.
From TMZ
Keeta Vaccaro — Tyreek Hill‘s estranged wife — is now alleging the NFL superstar roughed her up on multiple occasions during their 17-month marriage.
The Dolphins wideout’s ex made the allegations in a new court filing in her divorce case against the football player … claiming Hill began to get violent with her in early January 2024, just two months after they got married in Austin, Texas.
Vaccaro says the two were at their guest house in Southwest Ranches, Fla. when Hill went off on her during a conversation about a postnuptial agreement. She says he shoved her to the floor, stood over her, and then ripped off her necklace, causing a cut and a bruise.
The Football Gods Hate Miami!
😦
Nah. Self inflicted and deserved.
Hate to say it, but we hired Mike McDaniel to be a cheerleader for Tua. It worked for a while, Tua was down on himself he needed a picker upper and Mike was that guy. So now Tua has his confidence but he plays on a soft team for a soft HC. His time is running out. He’s shown he doesn’t adjust in game, and he still hasn’t been able to figure out how to beat the 2 deep safety defense. We have all this speed and no deep passing game.
