It’s Week 2 in the NFL, so it’s far too early to be a turning point of the season. On the other hand, the Miami Dolphins need a really solid effort this weekend at home against The New England Patriots. The Patriots are 0-1 coming off of a loss at home to the Las Vegas Raiders. A lot of experts felt the New England Patriots had a really good offseason and made a lot of improvements to the roster, in adition to adding a new Head Coach in former Patriots Linebacker Mike Vrabel. There is hope that their QB will take step up in his 2nd season with the Patriots. They drafted one of the best OT’s available in the ’25 Draft in LT Will Campbell. They added in RD 2 an athletic RB in TreVeyon Henderson to the more physical running style of Rhamondre Stevenson. The Patriots, like the Dolphins are 0-1, but the Patriots were in the game the entire game while the Miami Dolphins just got embarrassed all game long.
Unless this game ends in a tie, one of these 2 teams is going to be 0-2. The Patriots have a new Head Coach with a young QB while the Dolphins are in year 4 with HC Mike McDaniel and year 6 with QB Tua Tagovailoa. There is no question as to which team needs the “W” more than the other, but I’d simplify it by saying the Dolphins need to resemble a legitimate NFL team this Sunday, win or lose. They can’t have an effort that in any way looks like what they put out last week against the Indianapolis Colts where they got blown out 33-8 and even the score doesn’t accurately represent the carnage. This organization has been talking about their new culture for months now and some fans ate it up like crack. If what they did last week is the “new” culture, that culture won’t be around much longer, and I’ll be quite thankful for that!
Unfortunately for the Dolphins, the injuries never cease here. Yes, every team goes through injuries in the NFL but the Dolphins lost their starting RG after a play or two. RG James Daniels who I had doubts about due to coming off an achilles injury in 2024 is OUT, and not because of his achilles, but a pectoral injury. In addition, right next to him, RT Austin Jackson will also be OUT this Sunday. So 2 plays is all we get from our new and improved O-line. OL Kion Smith will replace RG James Daniels and OT Larry Borom will replace RT Austin Jackson. Obviously, that’s not ideal, and Mike Vrabel is from the Belichick Coaching Tree and that means defense is a priority, and physical play is what they’re all about. Our guys will no doubt be tested. After all, this Dolphins team told us they’re not soft despite fromer players insinuating just that. I’d like to see this team be the more physical team on Sunday and smack the Patriots down.
The team held a players own meeting after the poor showing Week 1. What exactly that means is unclear, but it’s Week 2 and you’re excluding the HC from a meeting? Not necessarily a good look from any perspective. What have y’all been doing up until this point? QB Tua Tagovailoa has been ornery answering questions and seems angry with some of the reporters questions. Answer those questions on the field young man, stop whining, bitching about what reporters said after you shit the bed on opening day! You don’t appreciate the negativity, play as well as your undying supporters think you’re capable of, like some Top 5 God of a QB! It will undoubtedly make the post game interviews much more palatable.
You want some good news? The Dolphins have owned the Patriots defeating them twice last season, 15-10 in Week 5 and then an ass whooping Week 12 34-15. In 2023 it was the same, we defeated the Patriots 24-17 in Week 2, and then 31-17 in Week 8. Despite all the offseason hype for New England, history is in our favor, and add in we’ll be wearing all white which means the Patriots will be wearing their dark navy jerseys in the Florida heat. Hopefully it’s a scorcher. It’s supposed to be 88 degrees and very humid but there’s a threat of rain in the afternoon (No way, not in Miami!). I don’t need the Dolphins to wipe the field with the Patriots and honestly I don’t need them to win, but they have to look significantly better than they did last week and look like a professional team that has real ideas about being contenders for a playoff spot.
Besides the 2 injuries on the O-line, there’s more injury news as well, some good, some bad. RB Jaylen Wright is trending in the right direction to be active. NT Benito Jones however is the opposite, and he may be OUT and replaced by rookie DT Zeek Biggers. I swear from this point on I’m not discussing the TE that shall not be discussed until he actually suits up and plays. I’ve wasted not nearly as much time and resources and draft picks as the Miami Dolphins have, but his time is done with me until he plays. WR Jaylen Waddle is QUESTIONABLE. CB Storm Duck has not practiced so it’s looking as if he’ll be OUT. As I mentioned earlier, RT Austin Jackson is in the same boat as Storm Duck and Benito Jones. Every NFL team gets hit with injuries but our team just gets obliterated by them.
Last week we ran the ball 9 times with our RB’s 7 rushes for Achane and only 2 for the rookie ollie Gordon who’s supposed to bring the physicality to the offense. I’d love to see Ollie Gordon get a bunch of carries although it’s difficult to steal carries from RB De’Von Achane, and if RB Jaylen Wright is active, gosh, how do you split up the 3-4 carries between them? I know that Achane’s herculean effort on that 4th down swing pass last week is the only reason we cored an actual TD last week. Mike McDaniel calls a swing pass on 4th and 11, and Achane avoids and eludes at least 3-4 would be tacklers immediately and scores. That’s a shit call, sorry! It’s amazing that he scored but it’s embarrassing that it’s what he called. I hope today we have a more run heavy game plan, take a little pressure off of #1 who is unraveling already due to the scrutiny of being a franchise QB that doesn’t play like one.
Lets see the defense, the front 7 that is allegedly the stregth of this team show up! We brought in veteran LB/DE Matt Judon in to join Bradley Chubb, Jaelan Phillips and Chop Robinson. The Colts had possession of the football for over 38 minutes. Not good! Of course Tua gifting the Colts defense 3 times didn’t help the situation, but our defense needs to make an impact too! Bradley Chubb got one sack and that was it for this defense. No forced fumbles or INT’s or anything really. We were jacked on both sides of the ball, and Danny Jones looked fantastic, a 115.1 rating, need I say more? Our Top 5 QB needs to rehabilitate his usual high rating which now stands at 51.7. Oh, forgot to mention Jaylen Waddle is injured with a shoulder injury. Did that happen watching the Colts go up and down the field all day on us? Rubbernecking injury perhaps? Jaylen Waddle did catch 4 passes for 30 yards, maybe 30 realy tough on the shoulder yards. Hopefully he’s better this week. I’m loving the new culture by the ways, but these boo boos we keep getting are just so nasty and unfortunate!
GO DOLPHINS!!!

Is it wrong to whish a loss for the better of the Dolphins future?
Wish Ahhhhhhh
Soon maybe, but not just yet
0-4 and get the Phibin treatment? 🙂
Philbin (Typing to fast ) LOL!!!

the colour of surrender …… coincidence?
Good write up Mike. A lot tongue in cheek but more positive than I expected or would have managed. This team wilts more than a 12 week old lettuce left in the sun. My confidence is irreparably broken after that gutless, uninspired dross vs Colts. This regime will never win anything except earliest team only meeting in NFL history
Thanks UK!
“My confidence is irreparably broken after that gutless, uninspired dross vs Colts. This regime will never win anything except earliest team only meeting in NFL history”
I could not have expressed myself any better!
👍
Markey – If we get to 0-4, you have to think changes are made but what scares me the most as being an astute Dolphins fan is Ross has a history of half-assing the issue and if he just fires HC Mike McDaniel and leaves Chris Grier in at GM, we’re fucked beyond fucked. May as well pick another team because Grier truly sucks. I don’t think I could stomach that and I feel like I might just lose all interest in what happens with this team altogether.
I was listening to the Joe Rose as per usghe and he and Woody were discussing the players only team meeting. Joe mentioned the team captains and thought perhaps that S Minkah Fitzpatrick was one of the team captains. I can’t tell you whether that’s true or not but this fucking guy just got here, asked to be traded from this organization 6 years ago and personally, IDGAF what the fuck he accomplished in the last 6 years, you can’t make that fucker a team captain HERE! If it’s true, this team reaps what it sows.
If this article doesn’t put you in a bad mood, the NFL now will be investigating the charges that the estranged wife (Keeta Vaccaro) of WR Tyreek Hill alleged towards Tyreek Hill. The key here is if Keeta Vaccaro cooperates and is willing to testify to those to the investigative committee. If she doesn’t, nothing will likely come of it, but if she’s willing to cooperate, you can just about kiss goodbye ANY trade compensation or even the possibility of a trade. Better hope she realizes that he still needs to earn for her to get paid, but you never know.
Divorces can get ugly, so unless she has some corroborating evidence like “Police Reports to back up her claims, it becomes a he-said-she-said argument.
I wonder if there is any language in his contract related to personal conduct that could void it. Best case scenario for me.
He’s good but he isn’t someone you build around. Unless you want your house to fall down
One thing that is a contradiction of terms that many say is that the Dolphins have the talent….that statement alone tells me it’s not about our GM, I feel he has done his job. This Dolphins issue, and in particular Stephen Ross, is that he continues to invest more money into players and goes cheap when it comes to hiring a qualified HC. Every coach he has hired, and even the one he inherited, was an inexperienced first-time head coach.
Here’s a breakdown of the head coaches under Stephen Ross:
I call it OJT, which will take them years of mistakes that experienced HCs have already made multiple times throughout their careers. So eventually, after 3-4 years, Ross’s patience runs out and he insanely hires the next first-time HC.
My criteria for the next HC that the Dolphins hire, hopefully in the next 3-4 weeks, is that they must have at least 10 years of head coaching experience and have won a Super Bowl.
These coaches are currently not leading NFL teams
Here is a list of other coaches who meet these criteria:
*A/I has Mike Shanahan on the list, but he is now 72 years old, he is not a viable candidate for a head coaching position in today’s NFL.
As for our GM, despite what I feel is a job well done, I am of the minority opinion. With that said, I am ready to blow everything up!
Some how my list of coaches I am open to hiring next did not show in my last post so here are the coaches that fit my requirments. Bill Belichick, Jon Gruden, Gary Kubiak or Mike McCarthy
Jon Gruden is my choice. Also, someone let me know that the Steelers will be moving on from Mike Tomlin (win or lose) this year. If that is true, he would be 2nd on my list.
It’s something about hiring “Chucky” that appeals to me.
Markey – I don’t say we have talent, and when the majority of the talent you have among the very small group is acquired by trading multiple draft picks, like Bradley Chubb and Tyreek Hill, or picked up off of the scrap heap like Zach Sieler, that doesn’t make you a good talent evaluator. Where’s the drafted talent on this team? Don’t throw Tua at me, and don’t throw Jaylen Waddle at me either, who required yet another one of Grier’s patented trade ups to acquire!
I’ll name the drafted talent
RB De’Von Achane
LB Chop Robinson
That’s it, not one other guy on the roster is proven talent. I’ll give you Chop for his potential, but he’s really INCOMPLETE at the moment.
My list of current and former players drafted by Chris Grier who plaed well for Miami or on other teams.
Xavien Howard, Laremy Tunsil, Minkah Fitzpatrick, Christian Wilkins, Jaylen Waddle, Jaelan Phillips, Jevon Holland, De’Von Achane,
Others with talent Kenyan Drake, Jakeem Grant , Mike Gesicki, Robert Hunt, Austin Jackson, Jason Sanders, Andrew Van Ginkel, Raekwon Davis, Brandon Jones, Blake Ferguson
Looking Promising? Chop Robinson, Patrick Paul, Malik Washington,
Tahj Washington, Kenneth Grant, Jonah Savaiinaea, Ollie Gordon II, Jason Marshall Jr., Jordan Phillips, Dante Trader Jr., Quinn Ewers, Zeek Biggers,
Jury Still Out: Jaylen Wright,
Markey – Not true pal. If Keeta Vaccaro cooperates the NFL’s investigation, not a court of law, we’re cooked. All she has to do is cooperate with the NFL and be willing to say he did these things and we’re done!
I doubt it will work that way! We will have to agree to disagree.
This is what they said on WQAM this morning between Joe Rose and Mike Florio. The NFL investigation is completely independent of what happens in a court of law, the’re a private league, organization and can punish the players as they see fit. Not sure what you disagree with
That is your problem, you listen to the propaganda from WQAM 🙂
No NFL head coach has won a Super Bowl with two different teams.
No, but Andy Reid took teams to the Super Bowl in 2 different conferences and has won 3. I’d roll the dice with someone who’s been there and has the pedigree of a championship HC. I get it though, that record will have to fall eventually, right?
Markey – Why is it propaganda? They’re the Dolphins Broadcasting station.
No, they are not. They lost that due to their extreme criticism of the team over the years. Joe Rose is the biggest culprit. Have you noticed how he complains that he has no relationship with the team, that he has to pay and park like a regular fan?
WQAM lost the broadcast rights to Miami Dolphins games at the conclusion of the 2022 NFL season. The Dolphins’ radio broadcasts moved to iHeartMedia stations WBGG (105.9 FM) and WINZ (940 AM) starting with the 2023 season
Rose even complains that his relationship with Marino is not good. He’s a meathead and childish and stupid enough to talk against the team, and I am sure team management had had enough and took away their broadcasting rights. And his sidekick is ALWAYS over the top with his criticisms, and the fanny thing most fans don’t know is that it’s all rehearsed!
Clickbait Seekers
They are behind the National bashing of the Dolphins because the National media gets thier opinions from the local media, which is why Mike Florio and others have such a negative opinion of Miami.
Which of course the Dolphins after last week justified the criticism they get. 😦
Ha! They lost the right to broadcast due to criticism?? LMAO, this organization really is soft. I hope the new station is as loyal as you are!
You think Trump would put up with that crap?
Their negativity affects the “Team Brand”
Note, this is my speculation as to why they lost the broadcasting rights
I don’t think anybody is opposed to some criticism but when it gets over the top on a station that broadcasts your games, what would you do if you honestly think about it?
Markey – Politics is a different animal, and clearly there are broadcasting stations that are far to the left and others that are far to the right and very few in the middle. This is not politics though, and teams deserve to be criticized when it’s warranted. Who wants to listen to a rah rah broadcast all day where nothing is as it seems because you can’t say anything negative? Not me, that’s for sure!
“Who wants to listen to a rah rah broadcast all day where nothing is as it seems because you can’t say anything negative? Not me, that’s for sure!“
Who wants the opposite?
That’s the same problem in the country when it comes to politics, BOTH SIDES lack balance and are extreme. They play to their base for the fools they are. While it’s all about the same thing, raping this country and its citizens of their money and enriching themselves.
The Bloods and the Crips = Democrats and Republicans with the law on their side!
Raping the WORLD also!
At the end of the day, only God’s intervention will solve the world’s problems for those of us who believe there is a god. If not, we are headed to the extermination of the planet and everything on it.
Thank you, Mike E.! I applaud your efforts and being real…lol.
You got it Krishna!
Marcel Louis-Jacques
Austin Jackson, Benito Jones and Darren Waller are all OUT for the Dolphins this week vs New England
No way!!!!!! Darren Waller isn’t playing? I can hardly believe it! What will be even funnier (to me at least) will be how many plays he lasts if/when he actually takes the field.
Markey – It’s funny, and I’m going to be totally honest. On the Joe Rose show every morning they bring on Kyle Crabbs from Locked on Phins and that guy could not be more of a homer. There’s a couple of other guys they bring on that are the same, including Omar. Joe Rose himself goes back and forth. He’ll praise the team and on many occasions defends the team, but he also criticizes too. Woody is a bit more negative, sometimes I feel like me and Woody are on exactly the same wavelength, but it’s not all negative and sometimes I wanna smack Joe Rose for seeming too positive on the team. They bring on ALL the sportswriters from each paper, Chris Perkins, Omar, Alain Poupart, Barry Jackson, they bring in Pete Prisco from CBS.com, Brian Baldinger from NFL.com. I mean if all these people are against the Dolphins then maybe it’s because the team sucks! lol.
I mean have you ever listened to WQAM and the Joe Rose Show? I listen every morning, they call it like it is, and it isn’t good!
I no longer listen live; I stream what appeals to me. I have no issue with criticism like I’ve said, it’s the over-the-top rehearsed crap that I can’t stand. I even have a signature title called “The Dolphin Seer Rant,” where I vent my frustrations.
When I lived in Wisconsin, I would listen to WQAM as far back as before the Jommy Johnson era.
Does anyone else here listen to WQAM? Just wondering if I’m just completely biased and can’t tell the difference but I do know that Kyle Crabbs is absolutely a homer, so to say they only criticize is way off base.
Kyle Crabbs does present a more positive viewpoint, but his words don’t carry the weight of the Host and his partner in crime.
Markey – Not funning on you, but besides you finding magic pixie dust, what positives are there to say about this team right now? Grier pasted together the secondary with straw and glue, and already it’s in a shambles. He drafted one OL (trading away a valuable 3rd RD pick and using two picks total to draft him). The D-line he drafted 3 players, one at #15 and we have no idea what we’ve got there yet, and 2 others that will play a pivotal role out of sheer necessity because Grier left the cupboard bare there too, just like the CB room. We have around six safeties and now it looks like 5th RD pick Dante Trader is going to be more in the mix so maybe the 2 guys we initially picked up in FA roles will be significantly reduced and maybe it will traitor Minkah Fitzpatrick and Dante Trader. The O-line once again is a disaster with injuries, our QB has been pretty awful since last September when he’s on the field, and useless when he isn’t. We have an absurd amount of dead cap money from players that are no longer on the roster and made little contribution when they were, and we looked like we didn’t belong on the field against a bottom tier NFL team in the Indianapolis Colts.
“trading away a valuable 3rd RD” one positive is you have one less draft pick to complain about 😎
I was kinda hoping our new GM would have that one to use! 🙂
🤌 LOL!!!
good write mike! i was hoping for a better season this year. oh well. 😦
The season is far from over, no matter how bleak things appear to be!
markey, you left Tua off your lists lol
It was a mistake I do not regret! 🙂 I am done with Tua.
But yes, add Tua to that list also. Maybe Tannahill Too?
But to answer your question, seriously, yes, there are many positives IMO regarding this team. Just looking at the roster alone and the talent we have, it’s a balance of youth and veteran players that SHOULD be competitive enough to compete for the division title.
If/when we hire a more experienced HC who knows how to actually coach, we will see the true talent level of this team and, in hindsight, regret that Chris Grier is the GM of one of our division rivals and haunt Miami for the next 20 years. (I should be dead by then) And you clueless haters will finally realize that it was never about the GM but the poor decisions of hiring coaches by the team owner, who seems to be clueless that his past practices of hiring inexperienced HC have failed 100% of the time.
Miami’s past problems are 100% the fault of poor head coaching hirings since Ross has been the owner. Like I said earlier, he has put more money in the players’ hands than he has in hiring an experienced HC.
The two times Ross tried to get an experienced head coach for the team, he tried to skirt the rules.
Example 1.) Stephen Ross attempted to hire Jim Harbaugh as head coach while Tony Sparano was still the Miami Dolphins’ head coach in 2011. Ross flew to California to court Jim Harbaugh, who was then the coach at Stanford. The attempt to hire Harbaugh became public, creating an embarrassing situation for the franchise and causing the relationship between Sparano and the team’s management to deteriorate.
While Harbaugh ultimately took the San Francisco 49ers job, Sparano remained the Dolphins’ coach for less than another season before being fired mid-way through the 2011 season after the team started 4-9. Ross later acknowledged the poor handling of the situation and apologized for not being upfront with Sparano about meeting with Harbaugh
Example 2.) An NFL investigation, initiated by allegations from former Dolphins coach Brian Flores, found that the Dolphins, led by Stephen Ross and Bruce Beal, had improper contact with Tom Brady and Sean Payton between 2019 and 2022 while they were under contract with other teams. The violations with Brady occurred in 2019 and 2021, and with Payton in January 2022. While the investigation didn’t confirm intentional tanking in 2019, it noted Ross’s comments favoring draft position over wins.
Consequently, the NFL penalized Ross and the Dolphins:
Commissioner Roger Goodell called these tampering violations “unprecedented” due to their scope, severity, and the direct involvement of ownership in pursuing both a coach and a player over several years. Just think who we might have drafted that year. (Can’t blame our GM for that!)
Both Coaches would have been excellent hires!
@DougKyed
Patriots CB Christian Gonzalez and DE Keion White are out this week. LB Marte Mapu and OT Morgan Moses are questionable.
The Past Repeats Itself?
After Miami fans ran, former GM Rick Spielman, who served as the Dolphins’ General Manager in 2004, held other front office positions within the organization for several years prior. He later served as the general manager of the Minnesota Vikings from 2012 to 2021. He was also the Vice President of Player Personnel from 2006 to 2011, giving him significant input on draft picks during that time.
Here are some of the most notable players drafted by Rick Spielman for the Minnesota Vikings: Adrian Peterson, Percy Harvin, Harrison Smith, Xavier Rhodes, Anthony Barr, Eric Kendricks, Danielle Hunter, Stefon Diggs, Dalvin Cook, Brian O’Neill, Justin Jefferson, and Christian Darrisaw, to name a few. As of February 2025, former Minnesota Vikings general manager Rick Spielman was hired by the New York Jets as a senior football adviser.
in hindsight, regret that Chris Grier is the GM of one of our division rivals and haunt Miami for the next 20 years.
THIS will never fucking happen. NEVER. It’s ridiculous to suggest. I will bet you right now WHEN Grier gets fired he does not hold the GM title again for AT LEAST 5 years. (probably never)
Open your eyes and stop drinking the Kool-Aid
“Oh yeah!”
Clueless haters!?? ROFLMAO!!!! OMG wait, wait, I can’t breath!

Dolphins going all white for Sunday home game against the Patriots. They’re also urging fans to wear white to create a white-out effect in the stands.
**************************************
Except that 30-50% of the Dolphins fans won’t pay attention and will probably wear aqua, and more than likely at least 50 % of the fans in attendance WON’T be Dolphins fans and will be wearing jerseys of the Patriots or other teams so I’m curious as to how that’s the gonna look. Those of you who have gone to a Fest or go to the games regularly that live in FLA know I ain’t lyin’!
Markey – I need names man. Give me the names that you are referring to as talent.
The NFL’s YouTube channel just released this video at the top of the hour. It’s the full WILDCAT GAME against the Patsies*, week 3, 2008!
It’s commercial free (obviously) and best of all, we get to see the legendary MATT ROTH back in action!!!
And my Brother Davone Bess!!!
This team has decent talent, but it’s built fundamentally wrong. This includes the front office. I believe most of the blame is on Grier and MM and both need to go!!!
I wholeheartedly agree. Grier/McD have had their chance, and I’m afraid they apexed in ’23. Barring a surprise resurgence this season, they are both likely goners.
Boy does this team need a win.
Too right! It’s going to get REALLY fugly if we lose this Sunday.
I’ve been watching the WILDCAT game that I posted above. Made it to the 4th quarter. We were built correctly back then in the trenches.
And to be honest, as always… I don’t believe we overpaid for a single trench player (ie: Suh).
Gotta have a foundation before building a roster. If the trenches (foundation) are weak, you’re spending good money after bad money.
That doesn’t mean to not spend on the foundation! But without a foundation, it all folds… even with All-Pro WRs and CBs.
Remember back in ’06, when Peter King predicted us to go to the Super Bowl? We had former All-Pros and Pro-Bowlers at most of our skill positions… but we neglected the trenches.
History should teach us lessons.
football is an emotional game, effort can easily Trump talent as we saw in PS3
MM is the problem, he has no clue how to adjust, when things don’t go his way, that’s why 2023 ended badly
If Coach McD is the problem (I don’t doubt as much), then GM Grief is equally part of the problem.
I mean, if Grief is the mere grocery-getter for Coach McD, he’s done a rather miserable job. Too many draft busts, too many over-paid FAs, and an outright neglect for the foundation of this franchise.
As one goes, so should the other… at least IMO.
I really do like Chris Grier as a person, but enough is enough and too little too late. And his stubbornness so as to say to the media last year that the O-Line was more a concern of the fans than management was really, really BAD.
He’s in over his head. As always, JMO.
Trying to be realistic here
LT Patrick Paul – right now, unknown but looks to be potentially better than average
LG Jonah Savaiinaea – Unknown
C Aaron Brewer – Average
RG James Daniels – Better than average when healthy, but he ain’t healthy!
RT Austin Jackson – Average at best
QB Tua Tagovailoa – Top 15 QB at best, 2023 is a distant memory!
WR Tyreek Hill – He will be traded
WR Jaylen Waddle – #2 WR now who will have work to do to become a true #1 target again
WR – Malik Washington – Looks to be potentially average slot WR to better than average
RB De’Von Achane – Good to great RB with an injury risk greater than most
RB Jaylen Wright – Unknown
RB Ollie Gordon – Unknown
TE Tanner Connor – Below average TE
TE Julian Hill – Below average TE
FB Alec Ingold – Average to slightly better than average
DE Zach Sieler – Much better than average DE/DT
DT Benito Jones – Average at best NT
DE Kenny Grant – Unknown
OLB/DE Jaelan Philips – Good to great skill but horrific injury history and can’t be counted on
OLB/DE Bradley Chubb – See Jaelan Phillips
OLB/DE Chop Robinson – Potential to be very good
LILB Jordyn Brooks – Better than average LB, seems like a leader
RILB Tyrel Dodson/Willie Gay – Average to above average
CB Jack Jones – Average at best
CB Rasul Douglas – Average CB whose best days are behind him and has to learn this defense
CB Storm Duck – Below average
S Minkah Fitzpatrick – Better than average but on the decline and I saw nothing on this past Sunday to make me think he’s headed for a Pro Bowl
S Iffy Melifonwu – Below average
S Ashtyn Davis – Below average
S Dante Trader – We hope he’s at least average, but unknown
K Jason Sanders – Better than average
P Jake Bailey – Average
PR/KR Malik Washington – Looks better than average to me so far
Tell me what you think and where you disagree, and show me where all this so called talent is . . .
If all of them had better coaching, what you consider average is more likely better than average, and the ones you try to dismiss, like Tyreek Hill, by saying he will be traded, is a failed attempt to not give credit where credit is due.
More to come…..
Mike, I really can’t disagree with any of those. There’s decent talent is some areas and potential in others, but it’s not a playoff roster. …even on paper.
M – We don’t hire people to be GM because they’re nice guys. I don’t care if my GM has bodies buried in his back yard as long as he gets us to become perennial contenders! lol
PS – As long as those bodies are not recovered and he’s not in any danger of being caught. 🙂
Markey – I have potential to be President of the United States. I’ll tell you right now I have no desire to take office. I don’t know if you’re just using AI, but potential don’t mean shit, we have a ton of unrealized potential on this roster already.
Put down Google AI for a sec pal, tell me your opinion on each player, I’d prefer that. If I wanted to use AI I could have done that myself.
My opinion is in line with what the UNBIASED A/I has provided, a stark contrast from all the lies from many of my fellow Dol-Fans. You are not alone. I would think an independent, unbiased viewpoint should provide a more honest assessment of the players on this roster.
Markey – What has Tyreek Hill done for us? Did we win a playoff game? In defense of tua, many of you, probably including you blamed Hill in that game, or am I wrong. Didn’t he have the dropsies?
We will never win a playoff game with Mike McDaniel; that is why I am off his bandwagon. Try not to deflect the point you were making, that we had no talent, by diminishing their value, like many of my clueless Dolphins fans, you want to throw out the baby with the bath water! I have proved that to not be true, wins and losses are a coaching issue, especially when you HONESTLY consider the talent on this team,
Replace McDanile with an experienced HC and this team wins the division and goes deep into the playoffs with the same players!
IMHO! 🙂
I get agita when I think of CG…because I don’t believe he knows how to build a championship team….he is best (as one pointed out) with finding talent, but he finds injury ridden talented players to plug in and cover his weaknesses at building a strong (that means with depth and a perennial contender) team.
MM has lost me…you don’t throw men into battle (football is analogous to a war, imo) without a strong leader AND say you team will figure it out after bonding with each other…wtf?!
Lol….
it’s Deja vu all over again
These are not my opinions but a more unbiased report from A/I As I have said, the talent is here DESPITE ALL THE NOISE, it’s the coaching that is lacking in Miami.
I think that AI bullshit is just bunch of noise. I also think Mike McDaniel sucks, but Grier sucks just as much.
You are entitled to your opinion, though factually wrong about our GM, who has done his job well, though not perfectly, like every other GM in the league
Just about anyone who criticizes the Dolphins generally says the talent on the team is not bad. That statement alone should tell you the truth about the talent. Even all of our frustration from the 2024 season was that we all had such high expectations for the 2024 season, of disappointment. (Something that would not have been if we thought the team didn’t have the talent.) And that is because the Dolphins did go 11-6 in 2023, which reasonably gave us all high expectations until injuries and bad coaching derailed this team, and both issues continue to plague this team.
Even still, I am not opposed to blowing everything up and starting over again. And 3-4 years from now (or sooner), we fire the new regime and do it all over again. It’s like in the movie Groundhog Day, when Bill Murray could not prevent the old man from dying. The Dolphins are doomed!
At least in my lifetime, I have seen Miami reach its peak with the legendary Don Shula, which is the best I have gotten in my now going on 55 years of devotion and loyalty to this team.
Markey – AI is not factoring in injuries, and all the injury prone players we have on the roster which derails us every season, and may yet derail this one too with CB’s injured in an already talent starved group, and the O-line with 2 guys hurt.
Nor should it. Injuries are part of the game and we are not alone:
Here are some of the teams that suffered significant injuries in the 2024 NFL season:
It’s important to remember that while injuries undoubtedly affected these teams, other factors such as coaching, scheme, and overall talent also play a role in a team’s performance. (I’ve proven we have the talent)
I blame nobody when it comes to injuries; it’s an unforeseen occurrence in life.
Our QB Tua Tagovailoa, our 2 pass rushers in Bradley Chubb. and Jaelan Phillips all missed significant time which kills this team. Especially since they never really got a capable backup QB and had them prepared for Tua’s inevitable injury. We never had O-line depth, and then we have injuries and the O-line stinks. ALL those things, every single one of ’em is on Grier because he drafts and picks up injured talent. Like Sonny in “A Bronx Tale” says, “The saddest thing in life is wasted talent”
I pass the blame on our back-up QB failures in 2023 on the coach by 60% and the GM by 40%. The real problem is that Mike McDaniel’s offense is too freaking complicated for even veteran QBs to meet expectations. That is all on Mike McDaniel.
There have been complaints and discussions, particularly during the 2024 season and after the Dolphins’ Week 1 loss in 2025, that Mike McDaniel’s offense has become overly complicated or that his play-calling is too predictable or rigid.
Mike Vrabel, the current head coach of the New England Patriots, has expressed the need for more precision and execution from his offense and has alluded to simplifying things.
Not everyone is a Yale Graduate!
The Dolphins have two connections to Yale within their coaching staff:
Dumb and Dumber who still can’t get the running game on track 🙂
All brain power but lack common sense!
I am trying to catch up, markeyh….I totally agree with you about the coaching, but isn’t that on the GM?
Yes, the GM bears some culpability, but I believe it’s more about the owner’s hiring practice of always hiring inexperienced HC’s, and that is the one area that I feel Mr Ross completely calls the shots on who we hire as the HC.
You glossed over my initial point though Markey. You bring in guys that are always injured you don’t get to use that as an excuse. Fact!
You obviously missed my earlier post addressing injuries. Can you tell me who will be the next Dolphin player to suffer a season-ending injury? It is an unforeseen occurrence. I personally feel the biggest cause of season-ending injuries is
Overtraining: Pushing the body too hard without proper rest and recovery is a leading cause of both acute and overuse injuries. A close second is coming back too soon from injuries. Jalen Phillips is the poster boy for that very exact thing!
In recent seasons, multiple Miami Dolphins players have reportedly struggled with the complex and demanding nature of head coach Mike McDaniel’s offense. This has included veterans and new arrivals alike, with some players reportedly growing frustrated with the system.
The Dolphins’ need is a simple case of “Keep It Simple, Stupid” (K.I.S.S ) from an overcomplicated system that nobody can easily pick up. That is the biggest reason why rookies and free agents have a hard time picking up McDaniel’s offense and being inserted in the lineup right away. Think Odell and now Waller.
I think that is the main reason they have not contributed, and it has taken them a long time to pick up Mike McDaniel’s complicated offense. I recall at least two players who had problems learning McDaniel’s offense. Tyreek Hill is still struggling to master Mike McDaniels’ offense, and Erik Ezukanma acknowledged facing challenges in his transition to the NFL and learning Mike McDaniels’ offense.
Markey – Does it matter why Jaelan Phillips gets injured? Grier took him knowing he was always injured in college. Same for Tua snd same fir Chubb who he traded fir. You seem to be saying it’s a part of the game but not every GM wastes high picks on injury risk players like Grier does.
Despite their injuries, when healthy, they play at a high to elite level.
like Tua did last week?
His QBR of 2.7 last week was his worst-ever single-game performance. ( I didn’t know it could get that low)
😦
If I had to bet on which Dolphins player would miss at least a few games I’d pick Tua, Phillips, Chubb or Achane, especially if we overuse him and don’t give enough action to either Gordon or Wright or both
You just don’t know that was the premise of my question.
Jason Sanders, before his hip injury, was the longest-tenured Miami Dolphin without any major or serious injuries. Now he is expected to miss at least the first four to five weeks of the 2025 season due to a hip injury.
Markey – you can’t say despite their injuries. These guys miss major parts or full seasons, that’s useless. Availability is as almost as important as ability
Seem like we are dancing in circles? Dolphins players are not the only players to suffer injuries.
An NFL team’s active roster is made up of 53 players. If two of those players suffer season-ending injuries, they represent approximately 3.77% of the team.
Several NFL players have already been lost for the 2025 season due to season-ending injuries, including Rashawn Slater (Los Angeles Chargers OT, torn patellar tendon), Kaleb McGary (Atlanta Falcons OT, knee), and Nakobe Dean (Philadelphia Eagles LB, torn patellar tendon). Other significant injuries include Jayden Reed (Green Bay Packers WR, collarbone) and Austin Ekeler (Washington Commanders RB, Achilles), though there’s a slim possibility Reed could return.
Here is a summary of some players currently out for the season or expected to miss significant time due to injury:
Injuries happen every year! Balming anyone is wrong.
There are no guaranteed solutions, but first thing is get rid of the guy who has been part of this loser franchise for 20 yrs.
I don’t think Stephen Ross is going anywhere…. 🙂
Ha! There is one guy been here longer! 😂
🙂
“On good teams, coaches hold players accountable; on great teams, players hold players accountable” – Roy Keane (former Man U captain)
^ this is an absolute truism. As painful as it was, I sat thru 12 episodes of the documentary on Brady. He was every bit as driven as Marino and chewed out anyone and everyone who didn’t do their job. Bruschi said this was both sides of the ball.
From my perspective we have plenty of talent voids, paper thin depth at several positions but the biggest void is at QB. Tua is too nice and can’t consistently raise the team and get us out of holes. MM certainly can’t coach us out. Our current organisation is like a castle built on sand and we are a moribund shadow of our proud undefeated pinnacle. It’s depressing.
Markey – Only one of us is dancing around in circles. You can show me an injury list for every player in the NFL, it doesn’t matter. What does matter is the construction of our team and how it degrades our roster when the same players are injured. We took on Terron Armstead who never plays 17 games. Tua Tagovailoa gets hurt and then fans make excuses that you can’t win the starting QB is OUT. Chris Grier says “You guys are much more worried about the O-line than I am”, and then the O-line depth is immediately exposed due to injury and you guys blame the O-line. Then on defense, both our starting pass rushers are injured for full season, and Phillips it was 2 years in a row. It’s not bad luck, it’s relying on the same guys that are always injured and not preparing for it! Tua gets hurt constantly, and Grier has Skylar Thompson as the sole backup. How do you excuse this? Then it was a merry-go-round of practice squad QB’s like Tim Boyle and Tyler Huntley. You have a QB that gets concussed if you look at him the wrong way and his backup plan is Skylar Thompson?
Stop making excuses for Grier, he SUCKS!!!!

Unlike Krishna I don’t see the players meeting as a bad thing, or any indication of anything really. I don’t think the meeting will accomplish anything, but I don’t see it as a bad omen or anything crazy like that. If anything it’s a good thing that the players are showing ownership. That said, I doubt having a meeting will make any of these players better at football.
____________
Unlike Rock putting words in my mouth AGAIN…lol…I never SAID it was a BAD thing…..lmao..
You just love quoting your own air bubbles…lol
😆
It’s one thing finding talent, so I give CG credit for that.
However, assembling a team that can win, including finding enough depth and core players that can last a season, is a much more deliberate/planned/difficult effort. CG has no vision or plan on what it takes to build a team.
“A castle built on sand.” from one of the bloggers says it best.
should’ve probably read this post before writing mine, owe you a beer
Grier has no vision, he’s just a 2nd generation guy going thru the motions
he’ll make some good moves here and there, but who is the real talent evaluator(s) in the organization?
seems to be just a Hodge Hodge of acquisitions
if you want more than a perennial borderline playoff team Grier isn’t your guy
everytime he speaks you can hear his ineptitude in his voice
So in other words you hate him. 😂😂😂
I have provided all the proof needed that our GM is not getting the credit due for stocking our roster with talent. I am also aware of how unpopular he is and can see the owner replacing him but also retaining him in some other role, but no longer the GM, and firing Mike McDaniel, the real culprit in how poorly this team with more than enough talent has underperformed.
It’s time to blow everything up! 💣💥
I think we have average overall talent on our team with a couple guys who are pro bowl guys. I think we fans always overrate or overvalue our own players.
Let’s take a guy like Jaelen Phillips. Set aside his serious injury issues. He has been nothing more than a very average NFL player, objectively. That is it. But, Dolphins fans say he’s more than that with no actual data to support it. Now, is he physically gifted with the potential to be better? Sure…but that doesn’t mean shit. What he IS and HAS BEEN so far in his career is an average player….and it’s also very likely that’s what he continues to be.
Chop had a good rookie season…not great…not special. He looked like he was struggling in the first half and then turned it on in the second half a bit. That is awesome to see from a rookie. I have no problem with his rookie season. But, it wasn’t anything more than good. If he can take that next step this year and play a whole season like he did the last 6 games or so…then we may have something. Or, we may not. Can we just wait to see? He’s a guy who depends on other guys to free him up, so let’s see how this front works together.
Anyway, just a couple examples where I think logical, objective evaluation is quite different from the way most fans see them. The media hypes these guys as “special” to make money, and fans eat it up. Potential is a myth until it’s reached.
I expect to see our defense tee off this week and play like their hair is on fire. If they don’t, I’ll be really disappointed
Randy,
It’s all subjective. Are these guys special? Not really. Are they special compared to the other guys we’ve brought in? Yes, very. On the Grier Scale of Awesome, they rate a 9.
I am compelled to point out that AI is not infallible. It skims the internet for info it uses and the internet is very often wrong. It’s like believing Wiki as 100% correct.
think you give AI too much credit
that is correct AI is not Without it mistakes, that’s why you need to double check anything that it produces
New Age,
I think it’s subjective with rookies and maybe second year guys. Once a guy is a vet I think you can start saying what he is or isn’t. Sure, it’s always subjective but at some point potential is what they are. Isn’t the average NFL career still like 3 years? It’s not like guys have 6 years to improve. Hell, I think I’m still old school with giving guys 3 years. I think lots of folks don’t give them that long anymore.
Are you saying Phillips and Chop are special? I guess I’d prefer to see that on the field over time. They both might be…but that’s conjecture not evaluation. Nowhere do I see either of them ranked based on production as special players in the NFL. It’s too early for Chop…and Phillips is still a question mark because he can’t stay on the field. The Grier issue is a whole other thing. Lol
Mateer would drive me crazy as the Fins QB, his weird side arm throws make catching short passes difficult, he gets a lot of balls batted down, and he’s really nothing special
2023 before Phillips got hurt he and Chubb were both playing at a high level, our sacks were top 3 in league, and the pressures were plentiful
if we lose tomorrow I’d put all 53 on the trade block, except maybe PP, Grant, Ollie, Jordan and Chop, unless someone made an offer we couldn’t refuse
BBM,
Haven’t seen you here for several days. Are you alright, man?

Funny you should say that about Wiki. About a month or so ago, Elon Musk was alerted that his Grok AI was pulling data from Wiki: he was VERY upset about the fact.
Elon despises Wiki. He’s promised to eliminate Wiki as a source for Grok AI.
There are several/many AI sources who cite Wiki. Your post above is correct, sir! Good call!
Lol, isn’t Wiki open source?
Exactly! Can’t believe Elon didn’t realize that his Grok AI was using open-sourcing.
Markeyh,
Thank you again, my guy! I’m figuring out my Firestick rather quickly, thanks to you!
This PSU Defense is FEROCIOUS!!!
So we’ll be without our right side of the OL for 4 games now, how wonderful.
Adam Schefter
Dolphins placed OT Austin Jackson on the injured reserve list.
As the great swami Rockphin predicted…
How could I have known this?
Our Dolphins’ season is over, barring a miracle. Austin Jackson and James Daniels out for the next 4 games? NOT GOOD…
they should have done that before game one.
@MiamiDolphins
Roster Moves | We have signed CB Cornell Armstrong to the active roster off the practice squad and placed OL Austin Jackson on the injured reserve list. We have also elevated K Riley Patterson and RB Jeff Wilson Jr. to the active roster for #NEvsMIA.
———
Cornell Armstrong to the active roster.
Drew Allar showing me some growth. Nice laser for the TD.
However, still not sold on Allar as an NFL prospect.
He’s not consistent . He also hasn’t had “that game” yet imo. If they play against Oregon the way they have played the first three weeks, Oregon will beat them easily.
While there is no such thing as a perfect prospect, this years QBs all have some kind of flaws. It may or may not end up being a deep class, but you have to decide if you can live with those flaws or are they fixable.
Allar showing me what he’s always shown. Awful Interception. That was very Tuaesque
I think PSU is going to be the team to beat, but until they actually play someone we won’t really know
seems odd they’re playing such a cupcake starting schedule, while everyone else is playing top 25
Kaytron Allen is a MF’n STUD!!!
Who cares Austin Jackson on IR again. Has he even played half the games these last 4 years?
Another Grief blunder not worrying about the OL as usual.
Howie’s score thingy
24-10 Pats
(Borom and Smith protecting Tua’s blindside ….. what could possibly go wrong?)
The lack of posts tells us all we need to know about Dolphins fans outlook on this team this season
If Drew Allar had Trace McSorleys’s heart, Penn St. would be national champions.
let’s go Dolphins 🐬
something something game day something
something something
I’ve been called worse🤪
well you are something ….😂
Who wants to bet me $100 that we’re going to lose another offensive lineman today?
no thank you
Howie’s list:
🗿 24-13 🎥
🇬🇧 24-10 🎥
What is the avatar for the Patriots? It looks like a movie camera
yeah, cheats from the spying scandal
actually very funny
Howie’s list:

🇬🇧 24-10 🎥
🇨🇦 17-13 🐬
how’s your recovery going?
Nice to be out of the sling (Thursday) next to zero allowable movement of shoulder .. still gets tired and sore after a day 🤷♂️. Three more weeks before back to work .. minor physio to increase range of motion
does anyone have a link?
nflbite doesn’t work anymore.
I shouldn’t but I have to watch
RB Jaylen Wright
QB Quinn Ewers (emergency third QB)
CB Ethan Bonner
CB Storm Duck
TE Darren Waller
WR Tahj Washington
DT Benito Jones
MASH unit already
And that doesn’t include IR list 🧐
Toba, I’m 13 weeks out from right shoulder replacement, I have excellent range of motion but I have to get my strength back now. Keep doing your exercises they help a lot.
Good to hear on your recovery… I was fairly diligent with pre-op exercises to keep loose , so with an actual end of physio in sight I will keep plugging .. 👍👍
Post surgery I was surprised to actually find a bicep muscle 😱
A banner reading ‘FIRE GRIER. FIRE MCDANIEL.’ flew over Hard Rock Stadium this morning.

Content thieves strike again
i’m too cheap to spend my money on that kind of shit
😝
Son,
Try: thetvapp.to
wow I just won the matchup pretty commandingly on Madden
We’ll see
let’s go dolphins!!
Maybe you should knock out MM and take his place on the sidelines
yeah, I was going to post that. I am much more aggressive than MM but left it out because I’m posting from my phone.
GO PHINS!!!
HELL YEAH!!!
Go Dolphins, I guess….
Yeah, man! 16-1
If you’re watching, let me know if Hard Rock looks like the White Out they were trying for
it’s a smart move anyway. Regardless of the fans, did it or not it puts the patriot in their dark uniforms for whatever silly reason, our real Home uniforms are the dark uniforms
Every teams home uniforms is normally the dark jersey or “colors”.
Why was Jaelan Phillips covering Diggs?
Phillips trying to cover digs?
Thanks Bookman 👍😁🐬
You’re welcome….i guess? Lol
