2025 Season – Game 3 – Dolphins @ Bills

This is the time for this team to make it’s stand, to turn the season around. These teams couldn’t be further apart, both in how they’ve played so far, the way the Bills have been scoring points in bunches and how the Dolphins offense barely scores at all. The Dolphins have put 11 guys on the field at any given time during each game but those 11 guys haven’t really played defense. It hasn’t appeared that those 11 guys have been much of a deterrent for opposing offenses. I’m not going to work harder than this team has so I’m not going to give you the exact number, but they had a great streak of 10 consecutive drives in which opposing offenses scored on which took them through to the 3rd quarter of game 2 against the Patriots.

This defense has allowed an embarrassing 33.0 points per game. Some folks think Anthony Weaver deserves to be the guy that replaces current HC Mike McDaniel if he were to get fired, but shouldn’t his unit have to keep it under 25 points per game before being considered as the interim Head Coach? Sure, a lot of this falls on GM Chris Grier. Some of you here behave as if Grier had his best draft ever in 2025. OMG, DT Kenneth Grant, OG Jonah Savaiinaea, DT Jordan Phillips, CB Jason Marshall, S Dante Trader, RB Ollie Gordon, QB Quinn Ewers, and DT Zeek Biggers. It may just turn out to be that way, but so far, after only 2 games it doesn’t look so good. DT Kenneth Grant hasn’t showed up, he’s played, but hasn’t really done anything. OG Jonah Savaiinaea has started both games but hasn’t fared well, despite the trade up which ruined 31 other franchises who wanted him. DT Jordan Phillips is playing too, he’s in the rotation but also hasn’t done anything yet either. S Dante Trader and DT Zeek Biggers have gotten playing time as well and some folks are optimistic about S Dante Trader, but this defense has been awful and they couldn’t pick a more difficult opponent in the Buffalo Bills who are averaging 35.5 points per game.

There’s been a lot of talk about the pressers before the game, especially the one featuring our QB Tua Tagovailoa. He was effusive with praise, and very humble, and while I don’t give a rats ass what he says, I wholeheartedly agree with everything he said. As to whether he should have said it or not, again, IDGAF. Tua needs to be loud on the field, and lead this team to an improbable win. The Bills on defense have been soft, allowing 25 points per game. Our putrid offense led by the humble one has managed only17.5 points per game, good for last in the NFL. Damn, so close a competition, but the offense just edges out the defense as the worst in the NFL, as the Defense is 31st, allowing 33.0 points per game.

If I were an optimistic fella (I’m not), and if I thought there was a gameplan that might topple the Bills (There might be), I would feed both running backs and I would take some deep shots against this Bills secondary. The Bills haven’t been good defensively, Achane has been amazing, I think he’s clearly the centerpiece of this offense. Ollie Gordan has had 3 rushing attempts. Sound familiar? Well, yes, it does! We did the same thing when we featured our newly drafted RB last season Jaylen Wright, who required 2 picks, one a 2025 3rd RD pick. Hey, how’s that trade up looking right now? Anyway, it would be nice to see the RB Ollie Gordon get some carries and do some damage and keep the Bills offense off the field.

If you’re a betting man, the Bills are -900 and the Dolphins are +600. I don’t bet and I don’t even know what it means, but the betting has been heavy on Buffalo. I’m not a conspiracy theorist, but if the NFL was gonna fix a game, this would be it. The betting has been extremely heavy on the Bills favored by 11 points against the Dolphins. Over the last 5 seasons, the Bills are 9-1 against the Dolphins. Starting from 2021, these are the scores, all in favor of the Buffalo Bills except one. 56-26, 35-0, 26-11, 19-21, 32-29, 34-31, 48-20, 21-14, 31-10 and 30-27. Some have been close, but the Bills have been dominant in the win column. Bills have been our daddy, and at the current time, this might just be the biggest mismatch. If I didn’t have my doubts about the NFL being fixed, I would say the Bills would win this game 41-3. I do, however, have legit doubts about whether games could be fixed and this one is ripe for that.

If we do somehow upset the Big Bad Bills, just wait until next week when we unveil our Rivalry Uniforms against the Jets at Hard Rock, so we can’t possibly lose that game, right? We’d be right back at 2-2 and ready to blister all the way to 14-3 as our own dear Piggy predicted. It could happen, right? Probably not. The Bills are in their new stadium, Highmark Stadium, and that would be a horrible loss for the Bills, not only a division loss but also a conference loss as the Bills try to keep pace with the LA Chargers, the Cincinnati Bengals, and the Indianapolis Colts as well as staying ahead of the Chiefs and Ravens and I think one of the dark horses this year, the Denver Broncos.

Sure wish we had that 3rd TO that we needed to use because the play clock was running down.

  2. Brian in NY's avatar Brian in NY says:

That’s what a winning QB does. Maybe we will have one someday.

  3. manitobafinfan's avatar manitobafinfan says:

    That should do it

  4. CavalierKong's avatar CavalierKong says:

LOL, that safety was 15 yards away from the guy he started to run after instead of coming up to cover the empty area the play went to. That is the kinda shit our secondary has been doing for 3 games.

    • steveccnv's avatar steveccnv says:

that wasn’t on the safety, the LB dropped coverage and shouldn’t have

      • CavalierKong's avatar CavalierKong says:

I didn’t mean the safety could stop the pass, it’s pretty obvious he was too far for that.

If the safety hadn’t run after a guy he had no chance of even getting near, he could have limited the gain on the play by a wide margin.

  5. ElephantRider's avatar ElephantRider says:

    0-4 here we come

  6. manitobafinfan's avatar manitobafinfan says:

So 0-3 and a moral victory, with a dash of realism tossed in

  7. Brian in NY's avatar Brian in NY says:

Did anyone really think Tua was going to come through? I thought him throwing a pick was inevitable when they were driving late.

  8. Mike E.'s avatar Mike E. says:

Quinn Ewers time. Fuck moral victories, we know Tua is not the future

  9. Brian in NY's avatar Brian in NY says:

I literally have zero confidence in Tua. It’s never been lower for me.

  10. manitobafinfan's avatar manitobafinfan says:

Phillips was close to jumping on that play

  11. Mike E.'s avatar Mike E. says:

Why not see if Ewers has the chops? Why play safe only to know it will NEVER be enough to beat a good team?

  12. steveccnv's avatar steveccnv says:

he’s not ready, ask GB how we should handle

  13. Mike E.'s avatar Mike E. says:

I don’t know about you guys but I can’t fucking wait to see our rivalry jerseys!

  14. New Age's avatar New Age says:

Now, the only question I have left is when these players decide the season’s already over. Because this team is sloppy and undisciplined at their best. Hill might intentionally get injured. I could see a few guys doing that and McD has always ‘erred on the side of caution’.

  15. ElephantRider's avatar ElephantRider says:

So much for the strength of the defense the front 7.

Everything is so poorly constructed on this trash pile known as the 2025 Miami Dolphins.

But het, no delay of game penalties tonight.

  16. CavalierKong's avatar CavalierKong says:

Moral victory!! Now we’ll beat the Jest, go 8-9 and run the whole thing back next year- woohooo!!

  17. Mike E.'s avatar Mike E. says:

New Age – not trading Hill would be Grier’s last fuckup!

    • steveccnv's avatar steveccnv says:

he’s gotta be gone at the trade deadline, unless somehow we don’t lose another game until Dec

we know he’s gone next yr regardless, so get something for him would be wise, talking about Grier though

    • ElephantRider's avatar ElephantRider says:

What are you talking about. He’ll probably extend him!

    • pieguyevan's avatar pieguyevan says:

Who would trade for him with that contract? Grier already shot himself in the foot with that last extension of his. We can’t trade him

  18. manitobafinfan's avatar manitobafinfan says:

And FYI they covered the spread as well

  19. Brian in NY's avatar Brian in NY says:

Seiler’s penalty was a killer. Tua’s INT was a killer . Mistakes in crucial situations . Undisciplined play . Poorly coached team. This is going to be a long season.

    • ElephantRider's avatar ElephantRider says:

Top paid guys dropping the ball.

This team makes no plays that change the game for them. Just those to give it away.

Ross is going to do nothing and we are going to watch slow death the entire season with nothing to hope for next year.

      • Brian in NY's avatar Brian in NY says:

I don’t really care if he does something during the season, as long as he does something in the offseason

      • ElephantRider's avatar ElephantRider says:

I don’t think he does anything. We really need to be historically bad for him to pull the trigger.

  20. pieguyevan's avatar pieguyevan says:

Well we definitely played better than I (or I’m sure any of us) expected. Tied at the half was a mine blower to me. Man I’ve been Tua’s biggest defender. I’ve always just wanted him to prove the doubters wrong. But whenever we need a big dive at the end of the game he shrinks. It’s just disappointing.

  21. New Age's avatar New Age says:

We play some truly bad teams this year so I can see McD getting us to 4-13. Not even bad enough for top draft picks. The Browns, Saints, Jets, and Panthers are all 0-2 and bad. The Pats are too. I could see us wining most of those games.

  22. Krishna's avatar Krishna says:

I don’t see light at the end of this tunnel…lol

  23. Mike E.'s avatar Mike E. says:

PieGuy – Hill is 100% a valuable trade commodity. Just because we can no longer make him great here, because of Tua and MM, you think Patrick Mahomes can’t get him to 1500 yards probably even now? He’s got tons of value as long as the team has the cap space. I think we could get a 3rd or 4th RD pick, if Grier is capable of that. We know he’s better trading picks away, that’s for sure!

  24. Rockphin's avatar Rockphin says:

So, “Moral victory” my pimply white ass! This was a loss all around. If they had played the level they have so far they would have been blow out and we would be reading positive news this morning about the owner finally wising up. Now like others have already posted we will continue in mediocrity for another season.

I absolutely hate that I have been pulled back in and am paying attention after I promised myself that I would treat the season like last year and not watch the games. I watched it on NFL.com and watched the little football go back and forth down the field and read the play by play. WHY!? Like trying to leave a bad girl friend. I disgust myself almost as much as the the team disgusts me.

I want to know if he’s a capable starter to build around. Maybe we don’t need to draft a QB.

    ————

Mike, I agree on giving Ewers a try but, no matter what, we need to draft another QB. Wilson will be gone. Tua needs to be gone.

We need someone to compete with Ewers. Mateer in the 2nd round or there will be some decent options in the 3rd and 4th rounds. Maybe Haynes King in the 5th.

  26. bailbondmike's avatar bailbondmike says:

Pieguy, I agree with MikeE. Tyreek is very tradable. A team is only going to trade for him to help them this year. None of his huge base salary in 2026 is guaranteed so the team can cut him after this season and have no dead money.

Three games into this season, right now, Hill would cost a team about 10m for the rest of this season.

That said, the return won’t be that high. Maybe a 4th IF the domestic BS goes away.

  27. Mike E.'s avatar Mike E. says:

    NEW BLOG UP!!!!

  28. bailbondmike's avatar bailbondmike says:

About last night’s game, and the Pats game. If we had a QB who wasn’t playing scared, we possibly could have won them both despite the defensive struggles.

  29. bailbondmike's avatar bailbondmike says:

It’s about time they put Brunskill in at RG over Kion Smith. Smith is strictly an OT, IMO.
