2025 Season – Game 4 – MNF Jets @ Dolphins

Monday Night Football baby! The 0-3 New York Jets come to visit the 0-3 Miami Dolphins in the AFC East “Toilet Bowl”! Hope you can make it to witness the reveal of the brand new for 2025 NFL Rivalry Uniforms (Pictured Above). I get it, some people are excited about this game, it’s time to turn the season around, it’s Monday Night Football and all. This team has no place being on Monday Night Football, but I guess the NFL doesn’t read my articles before making the schedules. Whichever team loses this game really is in the toilet bowl because only 1 team since the NFL has been around has made the playoffs after beginning the season 0-4, and that was the 1992 San Diego Chargers. Would losing to the NY Jets in front of a national audience and at home wearing those snazzy NFL Mandated Rivalry Uniform be enough for sleepy Ross to finally do something about this situation with Chris Grier as GM and Mike McDaniel as HC? We may just find out, but as we are all painfully aware, you can’t count on Ross to EVER make the right move which would be cleaning house, OUT with Grier and McDaniel. You can just about bet he will go with a half measure instead and probably just fire HC Mike McDaniel which would once again leave Chris Grier in charge of the franchise and choosing our players in the 2026 NFL Draft.

Let’s get back to the game at hand. TE Darren Waller was limited in practice but he is scheduled to play Monday Night. Oh joy! Supposedly, he will be on a snap count, but rest assured, his impact will be felt! WR Jaylen Waddle was also limited in practice with a shoulder ailment. Our rookies haven’t looked good so far and that means #13 pick DT Kenneth Grant, and #37 Jonah (Two Picks) Savaiinaea haven’t really showed well as of yet. One draft pick who looks very ready to contribute is RB Ollie Gordon II who has a total of 12 carries in 3 games. That oughta really allow big Ollie to get in a rhythm, huh? Our offense is 25th, and our defense is dead last, 32nd. They must be doing something right then! The Jets seem to be ready to start injured QB Justin Fields if he’s ready but Tyrod Taylor will be the backup, and he’s sliced and diced our defense many times, He has a 98.8 Passer Rating with 1769 yards and 10 TD’s, 3 INT’s.

Things were looking a little better last week, until the end of course, when it matters. We moved the ball last week and it looked like we had a chance until Tua allowed the Bills to snatch the football and the victory from our team. Hall of Fame QB Kurt Warner insists it wasn’t Tua’s fault so that makes me feel so much better about the whole thing. See, I’d rather have a Hall of Fame QB playing for our team rather than having a retired Hall of Fame QB making excuses for our QB. Just saying! Even if we somehow come out on top, how do you gauge this win over another 0-3 team? The NY Jets are exactly mid pack on on offense at #16 (23 PPG) and close to our Dolphins on defense at #28 (31 PPG). You might think this could be a shootout since neither team seems interested in playing defense.

I don’t know if there’s a betting line on Darren Waller being done for the season after this game but I’d throw a few bucks on that one. Wouldn’t be surprised to see him laying down on the soft Miami grass field after getting hit and getting helped off the field either by a couple of players or a cart and ending his season with the Miami Dolphins. This has been a joke as soon as Grier actually gave up legitimate draft compensation for a player who retired and quit on his team (NY Giants). I mean who were we bidding against? If we told the Giants we’ll give you a bag of popcorn in 2029 for Waller would they have said no? He’s also been on the 53 man roster the entire season which kept someone else off, ridiculous!

Supposedly, rookie NT Jordan Phillips will be getting the start this week, we’ll see if that happens, and how he responds to his promotion. As so far, our rookies are not doing well, more fodder against “Grier the Great”. You want this guy picking players next year when we might have a top 10, maybe even top 5, maybe even top 3 pick? You know my answer! It also appears that Daniel Brunskill will be starting at RG over Kion Smith. and once again the RT spot will be Larry Borom. Brunskill was blamed wholeheartedly for the pressure on Tua during the choke INT that sealed our fate, but Larry Borom according to some played well.

If we’re going to win this game, let’s win it in style, let’s play a complete game and blow them out of Hard Rock. How about 31-0? I don’t need a 23-21 slopfest victory, but I suppose some will be happy and take that. I’m looking at the inevitability that this team will be cleansed, so wins and losses don’t matter much. I have no such delusions that this team will compete for a playoff spot, so I’m just waiting for that shoe to drop, if Ross is willing to do the right thing and try and better this team. We’ll see.

I cant switch. I’m constantly pestered to be a Packers backer and I just cant.

If this organization doesn’t make wholesale changes i will just give up and quit following. Whats the definition of insanity again?

  2. steveccnv's avatar steveccnv says:

with 2 seconds left in the half the Ravens TE catches a low pass for 5-7 yards, the Chiefs DB touches him right away and are TO is called to kick an FG

if the Chiefs DB doesn’t touch him maybe the clock runs out, maybe they say he gave himself up, but at least let it play out

  3. Mike E.'s avatar Mike E. says:

Anyone setouch back? Adonai Mitchell catch a pass and run to the endzone, maybe a 50 yard pass play but start to celebrate around the 2 yardline and lose the ball for a touchback?

Anyone see the highlight of Alabama LT Kayden Proctor line up for a TE screen pass?

Proctor is a late 1st round OT prospect at 6’6 and 369 pounds.

I can remember the time when I used to get really exited about seeing the dolphins on a Monday night game. Not so much anymore. Sad.

    • Mike E.'s avatar Mike E. says:

It was really exciting Randy. There are a lot of reasons why it isn’t anymore. The MNF game itself has become much less of a Marquis Matchup game because of Thursday Night Football, Sunday Night Football, and add in there TWO Monday Night games now. Then, take into account that our team sucks, and well, who wants to watch them anyway . . .

  18. pieguyevan's avatar pieguyevan says:

    Mike-

I know which play you’re talking about with Mayfield, and I was thinking the same exact thing when I saw it. We all wish Tua was that guy, but he just isn’t unfortunately

  19. Randy's avatar Randy says:

    MikeE,

Yeah, it’s probably just the saturation thing. I think if the Dolphins were good, I’d still be Excited. 40-40 just ain’t my thing either, so it’s also just kinda the state of NFL football.

I was watching the Ryder Cup yesterday, and I was getting pumped when we were coming back. I realized that I hadn’t felt like that about a football game in years.

    • Mike E.'s avatar Mike E. says:

I watched the Giants game and saw Jaxson Dart play. It’s not that he played great, but the excitement and hope that he brings is immeasurable. You could see the team feeding off of it. We need that here. This team is bad, and even worse, we’re bad and stale.

  20. rich0322's avatar rich0322 says:

The defensive player that stood out the most to me this past Saturday was Dani Dennis-Sutton. Matayo Uiagalelei and Dennis-Sutton are 2 edge guys I really like.

    • rich0322's avatar rich0322 says:

…my 2 favorite CBs right now are Mansoor Delane and AJ Harris.

    • bailbondmike's avatar bailbondmike says:

I like all 4 of those guys also. I depends on what your priority in the draft is. I think Matayo Uiagalelei and Mansoor Delane will go in the later 1st round. Then, I think AJ Harris and Dennis-Sutton go in the early second.

    • Brian in NY's avatar Brian in NY says:

both PSU guys are studs, and likely top 20 picks, possibly even top 15. Dennis-Sutton has been a stud for 2 years now since Parsons left, and AJ Harris has made significant strides each season. I love that Harris can cover AND tackle well.

  21. rich0322's avatar rich0322 says:

How does everyone feel about the Dolphins odds tonight? I say it’s 50/50 myself. IMO, win or lose doesn’t change anything. This team needs a complete overhaul.

  22. bailbondmike's avatar bailbondmike says:

BBM looking forward to a top 5 pick and the mock draft madness to follow. 😉

    • rich0322's avatar rich0322 says:

Honestly, this fan base needs hope like Mike E brought up with Jaxson Dart. If Dante Moore decides to come out, I would do everything humanly possible to get that young man. Multiple 1st or several 2nd/3rd pick from 2026 or 2027. We need a QB first to give us hope, then build around him. …OL, TE(safety blanket who can block and catch), and DEFENSE. I think we have good young RBs already.

  23. rich0322's avatar rich0322 says:

OK, it looks like we are all in agreement. …Nobody know what the hell with happen tonight!!! LOL

  24. pieguyevan's avatar pieguyevan says:

I know you guys are all in agreement about it, but I STILL only see black with the jerseys tonight 😂😂 I don’t see any shade of blue at all. I’m TRYING to see the navy blue, but it’s just black to me!

  25. bailbondmike's avatar bailbondmike says:

Rich, I am looking for my favs for the first 5 rounds at QB, OT, TE, WR, CB, Safety, Edge and ILB.

It really sucks with all these 1 year rentals that causes us to basically have the same needs every year.

  26. bailbondmike's avatar bailbondmike says:

If Dante Moore enters the draft, I am taking with our 1st pick. Though I am not trading any extra draft capital to get him. We need too much at other positions again with limited cap but likely more than what we started this season with.

    • bailbondmike's avatar bailbondmike says:

I say that because there are other QB’s I like who could be taken anywhere in the 1st round.

    • rich0322's avatar rich0322 says:

If we continue down this path this season, I’m expecting a “fire sale” at some point. …Hill, Chubb, Phillips, and Fitzpatrick would all be on the trading block. Those extra picks can help too with getting the QB you want. I would not say this for any other position and I’m only saying it now because of Dante Moore. As you know, I’m a fan of Mendoza and Mateer too.

  27. Mike E.'s avatar Mike E. says:

I showed a picture of them in one of the articles past, not sure if it was 2 articles ago, or 3, but it looked navy in those pictures. Otherwise, yes, they look black, like my Dolphins fan heart. lol

I didn’t know anything about this ‘Bad Bunny’ character (performing at the SB Halftime Show) until I dug up who he is. The guy is a satanist, through and through. He’s into demons and the like.

Same here: I only see the black regarding the jerseys for tonight, and I like it!

    • pieguyevan's avatar pieguyevan says:

Thanks brother! I’m a Montana guy tough, pretty far from Aussie land 😂😂😂 I DO really like those jerseys though. I’m going to have to see if they’ve got a Ricky one. I don’t want to make the same mistake when I picked up a Brandon Marshall just to see him traded the next year. I got a VERY sexy white Ricky one from the stadium store when I went down to Miami last year though. They ended up not charging me for it which was kinda cool, but we’ve been losing ever since so maybe it’s cursed 😂

      • mf13ss's avatar mf13ss says:

Oops! I forgot you’re the Montana cat. My bad!

I truly believe in Miami’s ‘jersey curse’. Now, I only purchase retired Phins’ jerseys. My last? Cam Wake, #91, home jersey, baby! And he was a PSU cat to boot!

      • mf13ss's avatar mf13ss says:

Not retired jerseys for the Phins, rather players for the Phins who have retired.

  30. mf13ss's avatar mf13ss says:

    Mike E,

Like the Pigster, I suffer from “Jersey Replacement Syndrome”. No, not the state of New Jersey… rather, if I buy a jersey of a certain player on our team, he’ll be gone ASAP… rendering my jersey obsolete.

So… what jersey would you recommend I buy for this season? 🤣

  35. bailbondmike's avatar bailbondmike says:

One NFL GM called Garrett Nussmeier a mid 2nd round pick at best but said he will most likely get over drafted. Another NFL QB coach said something similar.

I feel like if we lose tonight and next week, we would officially be the worst team in the NFL. We will probably win the next 3 and ruin everything, especially for BBMs draft dreams. 😂

  38. bailbondmike's avatar bailbondmike says:

Might need to take a closer look at the Alabama OL. Between all 5, they only allowed 1 pressure by the Georgia defense.

I hadn’t looked closely at Kayden Proctor. I thought he was just a fat body seeing him listed at 369 pounds. That dude isn’t fat. He’s just a massive human being. I could see drafting him and moving him to LG next to PP. Move Jonah back to the right side and backup RG Daniels and RT Jackson.

    • rich0322's avatar rich0322 says:

Yea, Proctor looked like his feet were in mud the first game this season. I know he’s lost weight to get to 369, so maybe it will improve his foot speed.
