2025 Season – Game 12 – Saints @ Dolphins

Dolphins fans everywhere are watching the games and hoping for losses for teams that are currently ahead of us in the playoff standings. I think that’s fine, if you’re 7 years old and don’t really know anything about football, our Dolphins team, our Dolphins Head Coach, and our Dolphins QB. On the other hand, if you’re acutely aware of all those things, well, I either admire your resolve or just think you’re crazy, or both. I don’t care how many games in a row we win, I don’t see this team as a playoff contender at all. I see the “In the Hunt” graphics for the playoffs, we’re at the bottom there at 4-7, but we do have a favorable schedule. It continues this weekend with our game at 1PM at home at Hard Rock against the New Orleans Saints. The Saints are actually worse than our Dolphins. Tyler Shough is the QB and veteran RB Alvin Kamara will be OUT so RB Devin Neal will be getting the start.

We’ll probably be running the De’Von Achane Show once again, until someone absolutely shuts it down, or until Achane finally breaks. If I asked you which player on the team has the most receptions, you might think Jaylen Waddle right? Of course not, we’re the Achanes, not the Dolphins. Achane has 54 receptions, which is 5 more than WR Jaylen Waddle and then 21 more than the next closest receiver, WR Malik Washington who has 33. We’re so ridiculously reliant on Achane, who I firmly believe is way important than QB Tua Tagovailoa. Achane is the cog that keeps offense going. Anyone can throw screens and 5-10 yard passes to Achane, and the truth is, the Achanes are only scoring 20 points per game, so any notion that this team needs Mike McDaniel and Tua together because they’re so successful together, I have to wonder what success even means. Right now we’re 4-7, and our offensive genius is managing only 20 points per game, good for 24th in the league. For some contrast, DC Anthony Weaver with his bad of unheralded defenders and rookies are now 21st in the NFL in points allowed. Who’s the genius?

Things I’d love to see this weekend would be giving more opportunities to both running backs Ollie Gordon and Jaylen Wright. They say time is money, and I say draft capital is money too. We used a 2024 4th RD pick (#120) as well as trading a 2025 3rd RD pick (#79) to draft him. If we have to watch Tua every week most likely this season and next, shouldn’t we try to see what we have in Wright because of the draft capital we gave up for him? I’d like to see the offense get a little more well rounded, using more than just De’Von Achane. I’m guessing Mike McDaniel doesn’t care if Achane is worn down to nubs as long as he gets to keep his job, so we can probably guess that it will remain the “Achane Show” until he’s unavailable.

It would also be nice to see our young players like LG Jonah Savaiinaea and DL Kenneth Grant and Zeek Biggers continue to develop and give us some hope for the future. As per usghe, I’ll make my weekly plea to see QB Quinn Ewers get some playing time, but realistically, he needs practice reps with the starters and and that will only occur when we either lose one more game which will pretty much seal us out of “In the Hunt” status. The other option of course is if QB Tua Tagovailoa gets injured which is extremely unlikely, not because he’s an iron man, but because he plays like a guy scared to get hurt and doesn’t put himself in harms way, ever. That’s fine when you’re up 3 TD’s but if you need plays, you know you can count on him not to make them to stay safe. Maybe we can use our TE’s and WR’s a little more too, let Waddle have a big game, and feed Malik Washington and Maybe even get Nick Westbrook-Ikhine some chances. It’s looking less likely that TE Darren Waller will play this weekend but very likely that he’ll be back next weekend. The Dolphins should be OK against the toothless Saints who have no offense with or without RB Alvin Kamara, scoring only 15 PPG, 31st in the NFL. They make our offense look like a juggernaut!

  1. New Age's avatar New Age says:

It should be 24-0 at this point and I’m being generous. We just won’t succeed with this team leadership in the future. Tua and Mikey both suck.

  2. CavalierKong's avatar CavalierKong says:

We have absolutely dominated this game on both sides of the ball. We should really be up more, but I can’t see the Saints stealing this game at this point no matter what happens.

  3. ElephantRider's avatar ElephantRider says:

Achane should be making the 50M a year

  4. steveccnv's avatar steveccnv says:

Acahane’s 88 yards rushing, 988 on the season, can be attributed to the D shutting the Saints down

  5. Brian in NY's avatar Brian in NY says:

another week where a backup QB looks to be on the same level as Tua

  6. Mike E.'s avatar Mike E. says:

Tyler (Aw Shucks) Shough better than Tua

  7. steveccnv's avatar steveccnv says:

game starting to also look like our game in 1982 I believe against the Aints (late in season, about this time, winless Saints)

  8. CavalierKong's avatar CavalierKong says:

    Fucking Tua SUCKS

  9. steveccnv's avatar steveccnv says:

Tua’s head is up his ass, surely not in the game

    he doesn’t seem to care

  10. steveccnv's avatar steveccnv says:

bring in Zach Wilson already, I’ve seen enough as Tua as a Fin

  11. bailbondmike's avatar bailbondmike says:

What a shit pass to a wide open receiver. Tua playing like he don’t give a shit.

  12. bailbondmike's avatar bailbondmike says:

Tua’s passer rating is 39 against on of the worst teams in the NFL.

Randy – I wrestle with the fact that Tua is our starting QB in 2026 and it’s brutal. LOL

  16. Randy's avatar Randy says:

    MikeE,

I’m not so sure he will be, so I prefer to hope. Lol

  17. bailbondmike's avatar bailbondmike says:

That sack was on Brewer. He didn’t pick up the stunt.

  18. steveccnv's avatar steveccnv says:

with his sack today Myles Garrett now has 19, nfl record is 22.5

  19. steveccnv's avatar steveccnv says:

a Chubb sighting, he’s been Tuaing it all day

  20. Brian in NY's avatar Brian in NY says:

that looked like a pick to me

  21. Mike E.'s avatar Mike E. says:

    Pretty sure that’s a pick

  22. CavalierKong's avatar CavalierKong says:

Tua doing his absolute best to lose this game. I think that is a pick but not sure they have the angle.

  23. Brian in NY's avatar Brian in NY says:

we may get lucky because they called it incomplete

  24. bailbondmike's avatar bailbondmike says:

That’s should have been another INT. Tua had Washington wide open and decides to force it past Washington to Waddle. WTF

  25. The Flying Pig's avatar The Flying Pig says:

    Achane over 1k yards

    weeeeeeeeeee

  26. steveccnv's avatar steveccnv says:

hmmmm that one looked like Tua (to Waddle) I thought hes looked like himself all day

the Tua that doesn’t have his heart into it

  27. steveccnv's avatar steveccnv says:

Achane has his 1k rushing yards

  28. steveccnv's avatar steveccnv says:

    another shitty pass

  29. Randy's avatar Randy says:

    MikeE,

Well, if you believe in God then you believe in miracles…so yes! Lol

  30. steveccnv's avatar steveccnv says:

good sack, didn’t want Tua throwing, forcing it, there

  31. bailbondmike's avatar bailbondmike says:

I didn’t start watching the game until the 2nd quarter. I just realized it is raining so Tua will have an excuse for another week.

  32. steveccnv's avatar steveccnv says:

no matter what this conclusion is, the jets will blow us out next week

    book it

the D isn’t going to continue busting there ass only to give it back to Tua, so he do as he’s been

  33. bailbondmike's avatar bailbondmike says:

Sacks given up by our 2 best OL on back to back series. That one by PP.

  34. Rockphin's avatar Rockphin says:

Fitzpatrick hurt his feelings on that mist tackle

  35. CavalierKong's avatar CavalierKong says:

First kick and he would have made it from 65 easy

  36. CavalierKong's avatar CavalierKong says:

Defense will need to win this game for us after we go 3 and out.

  37. steveccnv's avatar steveccnv says:

is the final going to be 19-17 or do we lose in OT?

  38. bailbondmike's avatar bailbondmike says:

Figures. Kickers first ever NFL FG try is vs the Dolphins. He nails a 55 yarder down the middle that would have been good from 65+.

  39. steveccnv's avatar steveccnv says:

the kicking balls are given to the team at the beginning of the week to massage, and out helium inside

  40. steveccnv's avatar steveccnv says:

and you guys hate Tua and MM, take that, they’re the masters of getting the play off with 1 second on the play clock

  41. Mike E.'s avatar Mike E. says:

Amazing that we can’t use Wright or Gordon. We’re gonna run Achane into the ground

  42. steveccnv's avatar steveccnv says:

Tua is such a schmuck he can’t even slide right

  43. CavalierKong's avatar CavalierKong says:

    Sigh

  44. herdfan's avatar herdfan says:

Can we have direct snaps and leave Tua out of this altogether?

  45. manitobafinfan's avatar manitobafinfan says:

Just wow on play call and execution

  46. CavalierKong's avatar CavalierKong says:

Here I was about to give the offense credit and we just can’t get it done.

  47. steveccnv's avatar steveccnv says:

saints should kick the fg here, they’ll get the ball back with a chance to win

  48. Brian in NY's avatar Brian in NY says:

    Mike E,

we ran Gordon on 4th, and he showed why he doesn’t get more playing time. You don’t take your best player out on fourth and 1 with the game on the line.

    • Mike E.'s avatar Mike E. says:

They have been using Gordon in short yardage situations all season. There was nothing there where he was supposed to go but doesn’t have the agility or speed to get back the other way

      • Brian in NY's avatar Brian in NY says:

he could have followed his blockers , dove over the pile. He doesn’t have Achanes quickness to do what he tried to do.

  49. steveccnv's avatar steveccnv says:

all the hard work the D did all game long will go up in Tua

  50. Mike E.'s avatar Mike E. says:

    Tee hee

  51. CavalierKong's avatar CavalierKong says:

    lol

  52. steveccnv's avatar steveccnv says:

wow, after failed onside its over

  53. Mike E.'s avatar Mike E. says:

Well, we win but show we belong right there with the Saints

  54. New Age's avatar New Age says:

I’m glad Fitzpatrick is the dude making 50+ million every year. He earned it today…..

  55. CavalierKong's avatar CavalierKong says:

    This team is amazing

  56. CavalierKong's avatar CavalierKong says:

That was touched before 10 yards

  57. Brian in NY's avatar Brian in NY says:

    we got really lucky

  58. Rockphin's avatar Rockphin says:

how is that scored? Is that a pick two?

  59. Brian in NY's avatar Brian in NY says:

    or not

  60. CavalierKong's avatar CavalierKong says:

Defense saves the day after they get lucky and Olave drops the TD pass.

  61. CavalierKong's avatar CavalierKong says:

    Most unsatisfying win ever

  62. Brian in NY's avatar Brian in NY says:

Thank God. We really tried to give that game away.

  63. The Flying Pig's avatar The Flying Pig says:

are you sure we aren’t tanking?

  64. steveccnv's avatar steveccnv says:

onside kick, like I’ve been saying, they’re going to call it however they want regardless of facts

  65. steveccnv's avatar steveccnv says:

    go jets

  66. Randy's avatar Randy says:

Another inspiring win against a terrible team to worsen our draft pick? No worries. It’s only the difference between drafting Jared Verse or Chop. Yay team!

  67. steveccnv's avatar steveccnv says:

we know we aren’t capable of having back to back clean games, so why waste one on Saints

if the goal was to win, mission accomplished, on to jets

  68. Mike E.'s avatar Mike E. says:

Question for the Dolphins is does HC Mike McDaniel have the balls to sit Tua?

  69. sb7mvp's avatar sb7mvp says:

This felt like one of those games from 2020 where our defense dominates while our offense stalls and continues to put the defense on the field until they get tired and X comes up with a big turnover in the RedZone to end the game.

  70. Mike E.'s avatar Mike E. says:

SB – It doesn’t matter whether Ewers is any better, you can clearly see that this team won’t win a game when it counts with Tua, so try someone else. If it were me, I would give Ewers starters reps because he’s the unknown quantity. I agree Wilson won’t do better, and Ewers might not either, but I’d love to see him get a chance to maybe do better. It seems like all Tua can do is lob the ball around the field, he never has any pace on the ball, and his feet look like they’re in quicksand.

    • CavalierKong's avatar CavalierKong says:

It’d be pretty hard for anyone to be worse than Tua was today.

      • Mike E.'s avatar Mike E. says:

We’ve seen the decline the last few games.

        Over the last 4 games:

104 pass attempts, 66 completions for 762 yards

        2 TD’s, 4 INT’s

Completing 63% of his passes and if you watch the games, you know darn well that 80% of those passes are within 10 yards from the LOS. He will routinely slide early before achieving a first down to save his ass, when in reality, his ass isn’t worth saving. I can name 20 other QB’s that put their body on the line every week. I don’t know what happened to him, but he does not look like a playoff caliber QB in the least. We used to hear the excuses he has no O-line, he has no running game. We ran for 160 yards today. Even times when there is a rush, he looks like his feet are stuck to the turf and he can’t move. People can defend him from today till tomorrow, he couldn’t beat better teams, or even give us a chance before this season, now it’s ridiculous to expect him to do it.

      • CavalierKong's avatar CavalierKong says:

That slide on 3rd down with the game on the line when he has the first if he goes forward says it all.

I really hope we have an option other than Tua next year.

    • sb7mvp's avatar sb7mvp says:

I didnt’ say Ewers, I said Wilson and this club isn’t going to jump Ewers over Wilson, unless a miracle happens. I would love to see what Ewers has, but they aren’t going to sit Tua for either QB when Tua is still winning games.

  71. CavalierKong's avatar CavalierKong says:
    gif

    Chicago currently the #1 seed

    • Mike E.'s avatar Mike E. says:

It’s only Week 13, but yeah, kinda crazy. Our fanbase is full of some crazy characters that I see on X. The huge Tua fans consistently make fun of Justin Herbert and mostly Drake Maye. I can understand Herbert, who Tua and him are so alike, each fanbase probably thinks their version of “mid” is better than the others. Why Drake Maye though? We’ve faced nearly an identical schedule as them but Maye gets ridiculed for having a cupcake schedule? They’re 10-2, we’re 5-7.

  72. CavalierKong's avatar CavalierKong says:

Rodgers crushed and bleeding from the face. LOVE IT!

  73. CavalierKong's avatar CavalierKong says:

    Buffalo #57 so stupid

    • steveccnv's avatar steveccnv says:

not sure why it was a penalty

goes back to theory, they just call whatever the hell they want to fit the narrative they’ve been told to officiate by

      • CavalierKong's avatar CavalierKong says:

I’ve seen that called a delay of game when a defense does something like that towards the end of the 4th.

But I thought i saw it called the other day and it was a 5 yd penalty.

      • steveccnv's avatar steveccnv says:

NFL has turned into Hollywood, with a script

they even tell you each team has a script to start each half🤣

      • CavalierKong's avatar CavalierKong says:

I wonder if they called it unsportsman like because it fell under ‘taunting’. In that case, yeah, they just kind of decided to call it as they want to.

      • CavalierKong's avatar CavalierKong says:

        LOL @ ‘scripted’ plays

  74. steveccnv's avatar steveccnv says:

with Rodgers now hurt, who knows how long he’ll be out, it changes our game with them

we want Ravens to win that division, it removes the head to head loss we have with them

  75. steveccnv's avatar steveccnv says:

on Tua I’d say let him play out the mess he created, the O isn’t suited for Wilson or Ewers, bet both players better in a different O

  76. steveccnv's avatar steveccnv says:

our win today only keeps us on pace with the 3 current wildcards, 3 games behind Indy, Buffalo and LAC haven’t completed their games this week

  77. CavalierKong's avatar CavalierKong says:

I am just loving each time the cut to Rodgers on the sideline with his broke ass nose.

  78. CavalierKong's avatar CavalierKong says:

    Rodgers back in the game.

  79. steveccnv's avatar steveccnv says:

    the conference record tie breaker:

you have to look at number of games lost outside the conference, not conference record, to find it just subtract conf loses from overall loses

  80. Mike E.'s avatar Mike E. says:

SB – you could watch football for the first time and realize Tua is not “winning games”. The last 5 games, with the exception of the Falcons game, we have won in spite of Tua, not because of him

  81. mf13ss's avatar mf13ss says:

Y’all, Tua is DAMAGED GOODS. He’s not mailing it in because he got his payday, he’s no longer able to use his arm as he once had in ’22 and ’23. Why? His hip is SHOT (he can’t plant), and it will never be the same again… barring a miracle or stem cell treatment (<- probably won’t even work regarding the scope and size of his hip injury history).

His deep balls are now lame ducks, he lacks the velocity he once had, and here’s the main thing… THE ORGANIZATION/COACHES have realized this for some time… which is why Tua rarely even tries to throw deep, his passing attempts have greatly diminished (notice the spike in our running game this season?), he can’t scramble in the pocket like he used to, and he can’t even slide right.

Working theory: Capri McD wasn’t fired when General Grief was, because when McD has had a healthy and legit QB, he has had a top Offense in the NFL… the organization believes in McD to get back into the top-5 of Offenses with a healthy and legit QB. Do we draft one early in the ’26 Draft???

Working theory continued: why was Grief fired when he was? Because he’s the one who chose to sign Tua for ‘mega million$’… and Tua is now DAMAGED GOODS, decimating our season. Somebody had to be sacrificed.

So that stated… perhaps Capri McD isn’t being kept around for Tua in ’26. I dunno, but that’s all I’ve got.

I luv Tua, but he’s FINISHED. And I’m not in favor of keeping Capri McD in ’26.

  82. bailbondmike's avatar bailbondmike says:

I wonder if they are keeping Ewers as the #3 QB and inactive so they can’t put him in unless Tua and Wilson go down. They don’t want fans chanting for Ewers to come in.

    BBM just thinking out loud.

    • Mike E.'s avatar Mike E. says:

I don’t think it’s far fetched, but on the other hand, why don’t they want to give Ewers a chance? Coach him up, get him ready. He seriously can’t be worse than Tua

  83. bailbondmike's avatar bailbondmike says:

Denver sure does suck in the red zone.

  84. Brian in NY's avatar Brian in NY says:

    BBM,

How much do we save Against the cap Next year, if we move on from Sanders?

  85. bailbondmike's avatar bailbondmike says:

What a play/throw by Bo Nix

  86. bailbondmike's avatar bailbondmike says:

Brian, we would clear about 3.9m on Sanders. Ingold would clear another 3m. Let them both walk.

  87. steveccnv's avatar steveccnv says:

    Lane Kiffin signs with LSU

I’d like to see a game at LSU, BBM you wanna go to a game?

  88. mf13ss's avatar mf13ss says:

So let’s be honest with ourselves… IF we’re even trying to win next year, we’re either going to draft a QB with some major upside, or we’re going to sign a legit FA QB… but one who isn’t too expensive.

IF we’re even TRYING to win with Tua next year, may as well call it a ‘tank season’ and may as well fire Capri McD after this season is over.

In the meantime, we’re winning meaningless games.

    • steveccnv's avatar steveccnv says:

      what if Tua retires?

his head isn’t in it any longer, no pun…

wonder, if an injury settlement would work to cut cap

      • mf13ss's avatar mf13ss says:

BBM would probably be the man to ask. I’m so done with nuances on contracts, new rules, and Emperor Goodell’s BS.

  91. steveccnv's avatar steveccnv says:

many teams script plays to start each half

if the most important plays are at the end of the game, why not script your last 15 or so?

    • pheloniusphish's avatar pheloniusphish says:

Because your last plays should be based on what has happened so far and what the opposing team is doing or has done up to that point. Last plays should be dictated by the game flow.

  92. bailbondmike's avatar bailbondmike says:

Sean Payton has probably aged 10 years this season.

Broncos have won 7 of their 10 games by 4 points or less (6 by 3 points or less). Their only 2 losses were by 1 point and 3 points.

  93. bailbondmike's avatar bailbondmike says:

There are a lot of big NFL games next weekend that will impact the playoffs.

  94. bailbondmike's avatar bailbondmike says:

Man, 3 huge ref blunders in the Texans/Colts game all favoring the Texans with 2 on one play. The 2 blunders on 1 play were the play clock clearly hit 0 seconds on the Texans then ball was snapped over a second later, no call. Then, the refs call a DPI on the Colts when the defender never touched the WR. The WR just slipped and fell. The no call on delay of game and subsequent DPI call on the same 3rd down play led to a Texans TD, and they win by 6 points. Yeah, the NFL is rigged.

  95. bailbondmike's avatar bailbondmike says:

I forgot to mention during the game, didn’t anyone notice the 2 great blocks by Julian Hill on the Achane 29 yard TD run? He’s a keeper.

    • Mike E.'s avatar Mike E. says:

I didn’t notice it myself until they showed the replay and told me about it. Took out two defenders

    • steveccnv's avatar steveccnv says:

part of why I downgraded the need for TE

unless we can draft that stud TE, no reason to spend money on one, that’s an unknown

So today is my first day back at work since November 21st and wouldn’t you know it the servers go down 30 minutes after I get here. I have a weeks plus worth of work that nobody touched while I was out and now I can’t even get logged in to work on it. Sitting here in my office catching up on your guys posts.

  97. Mike E.'s avatar Mike E. says:

Who is the most overrated DE/LB on the Dolphins? Bradley Chubb

I feel like some fans elevate Chubb to Pro Bowl status. He’s 27th in sacks with 6. Chub ain’t shit. I’d cut him or trade him next season too. Maybe we can package Tua (Chubby) and Chubb together in a deal

  98. Randy's avatar Randy says:

    MikeE,

It’s Chop by a mile. 8 tackles and 2.5 sacks this year? Chubb at 18 and 6.

  99. Rockphin's avatar Rockphin says:

Any of you guys ever read Michelle West? I just ordered book 1 of the “Sun Sword” series, “The Broken Crown”

I’ve never read anything from her, but some dude on Youtube listed the series as in his top 10 of epic fantasy and the other authors he listed fall in line with my taste.

Have any of you read it? I hope it’s good.

  100. Randy's avatar Randy says:

I said before the year started that the NFL was gonna make Chicago one of its darlings this year. You can tell which teams the NFL is going to elevate. And, it ain’t Miami!
