The Miami Dolphins pursuit of a playoff berth continues! Still alive! I know some of you can laugh along with me as I picture the Black Knight in Monty Python and the Holy Grail.

Yep, that’s our Dolphins still alive and fighting for a practically unattainable playoff berth. It’s basically a 1% chance at the moment, and that’s ONLY if the Dolphins run the table, winning the next 5 games against the Jets, Steelers, Bengals, Buccaneers and then the season finale against the New England Patriots. You know how we discuss here (on social media) how social media is ruining this country, world, society, or all of the above? You know what it’s ruining for me? Being a fan of the Miami Dolphins. Dolphins fan brethren spending time belittling the New England Patriots and their sterling 11-2 record. Making light of their schedule (practically the same damn schedule we play save for 3 games. They played the Titans, we played the Colts. They played the Giants, we played the Commanders and then they played the Raiders while we played the Chargers. Just a big fat reminder, we’re 5-7 and they’re 11-2. Stop being a pussy and belittle a team that has righted themselves, potentially have found their franchise QB and actually built a strong roster unlike just filling the roster with players like Grier did for years here. Sorry Markey, he will never get a front line Exec job in the NFL again, certainly nothing in the vein of being in control of player/personnel. I know, sometimes reality sucks, but it’s still reality.
Then there’s the amazingly large group of Dolphins fans still either with an allegiance to our current starting QB Tua Tagovailoa, or those that just think because he’s making a gazillion dollars next season that he MUST be our starting QB, both now and in 2026. For the millionth time, that money is spent just the same whether he plays or sits and gets splinters on the bench. If we do what must be done, we will draft a QB next season and that QB will have a fair opportunity to seize the starting job. Why, you may ask? This is Tua’s 6th season, and 4th such season with the same Head Coach and offensive system. He’s worse than ever, but somehow he’s going to get better next season? All we need to do is. fix the O-line and get stronger on defense and give him better receivers and blah blah blah. We’ve been hearing that same old tired shit for far too long. You can’t build a perfect team for a tin man with no oil in sight, scarecrow with no available heart, or a cowardly lion with no courage. Tua is all 3 characters in one. He moves like a 60 year old, and at 62, I think I could give Tua a run for his money both in a footrace and throwing the ball downfield. He has no courage, that went out the window with his last concussion or hip injury, doesn’t matter. He routinely comes up short when we need him to do more. His brain just might be scrambled eggs, because sometimes you wonder what he’s thinking, or IF he’s thinking. One second a defender is in hot pursuit of him and he forgets he’s there and gets taken down for a silly looking sack. He runs towards the first down marker and then goes into his slide about a yard and a half early and comes up short. You would think “The Frajeel” practices doing that 1,000,000 times in practice because he does it so often in the game.
Anyway, the charade continues and I guess in some way, our final record this season will determine what action or inaction this front office will make. Winning a few meaningless game and either getting closer to .500 or perhaps miraculously surpassing .500 by going 9-8 shouldn’t make this front office think that everything is alright. If you’ve seen Goodfellas “It’s not alright Spider!!!” It’s not. Don’t waste another precious season and draft class and free agency trying to get this team perfect for Tua and Mike McDaniel. Please, I beg of you. If somehow we manage to make the playoffs, I can almost assure you we will be in for a supreme ass kicking from whichever team we should play. I would actually love it if it were the New England Patriots who many Dolphins disparage as playing a weak schedule. How fitting would that be if they put up a shutout like maybe 30-0 on us? If that were the turning point that made us abandon “calling” our poker hand and staying the same for 2026, then so be it.
At this point in time, I can agree with Markey that firing Chris Grier was just a move to give unhappy fans a sacrifice. I hope they’re not fooled by these narrow margin victories against uninspired teams like the Commanders and the Saints. I swear if they sat Achane for a game we’d really see just how pathetic this offense can be. He does it all, and is producing on his own here. He’s been unbelievable, finding creases, breaking tackles not with brute physicality, but with elusiveness not seen here since Reggie Bush. This offense would be toast, just like our QB. Mike McDaniel sees the writing on the wall, and he’s literally going to run Achane into the ground to try and keep winning. Achane probably doesn’t mind either, the more touches he gets, the more $$$$$ he’s going to get either in the offseason or during next season (if we’re smart), or if we’re stupid, in Free Agency in 2027. Either way, this is only boosting his future paycheck.
So this week we travel to New Joisey to play the Jets who probably don’t care about this game any more than I do. I know and understand that some of you just want to beat the Jets no matter what and I feel ya, but I truly couldn’t care less. I will feel zero joy with a win, or loss. I guess maybe a bit more joy with a loss because it would end the nonsensical “playoff run”. Once that’s over, maybe the big boys will actually start evaluating what to do for 2026, and hopefully, that includes compiling a list of NFL Execs from a bunch of good organizations with winning culture. I mean it’s been 25 years + since we’ve won a playoff game, you think it’s high time to find the right GM to build a winner, instead of settling for a guy you hired and then elevated to interim GM that came from two losing organizations (Bears and Raiders), AND, neither of the two hired him as GM. If he wasn’t good enough for them, and they saw him firsthand, WHY ON EARTH IS HE GOOD ENOUGH FOR US?
AIM FUCKING HIGHER! FIRE McDANIEL!!! SIT TUA!!!!

I feel terrible for Daniel Jones and also for the Colts and Colts fans. Just brutal. Lucas Oil Stadium just became Indiana Jones Temple of Doom
Same here
I am not worried about Ewers not getting any playing time. He is learning and getting plenty of reps on the scout team.
he needs a fresh start with an O, that can take rookies and allow them to play
I’d like to see all 3 QBs back next year without MM (don’t really want Tua back, but his contract says he’s likely coming back)
Our O philosophy sucks, throw the ball to a spot and hope the receiver is there, one reason Tua has all of thise ints
It takes a lot of time to get that timing down
is Ikhine really that bad or is our O not for him?
Wilson is a good QB, this system doesn’t fit him at all
stick a boot up MMs ass and kick him to the curb already, his retarded system alone should get him fired
Ikhine is not a separator. This O is not for him. He was brought here to block and be a RZ threat. Though, MM/Tua haven’t really targeted him in the RZ.
Wilson is a good QB?
LOL right
If we had beat indianapolis week one and were seven and six, we’d be in a decent position, except like all those other years we missed out on the playoffs, because we couldn’t close out the season against good teams. We’ve got a tough schedule to finish
now back to reality. We still have to play that tougher schedule. We can’t lose any games and we still won’t get in even if we win them all
Steve, I really don’t want Zach Wilson back. I would rather nab a rookie in the middle rounds (3rd to 4th) and roll with Tua (because he will be here) Ewers and a rookie.
See what we have in the backups heading into the 2027 draft.
I can name at least 5 QB’s we can draft somewhere in those 4 draft spots who will have high upside.
after the first quarter, I said the jets have been a train wreck 45 quarters against us.This year
make it eight quarters now. They were absolutely atrocious against us.This year
for 5 qtrs
the good news is these teams that are ahead of us.Fighting for a wild card spot, play each other
We still need the Chiefs to beat the Texans tonight then lose 2 of their last 4.
Texans to lose tonight then lose 2 of their last 4.
Ravens to lose one more.
Colts to lose 3 of their last 4 because they have the head to head on the Dolphins. Could happen as they have probably the toughest schedule remaining of the AFC teams and Daniel Jones out for the season.
Then Dolphins win out with a tough schedule.
Colts, Chiefs, Texans and Ravens all need to finish 9-8 at best and we win out.
Wow, replay assist comes in and gets the call wrong.
KC challenges, then they replay assist again to change the call again.
I give them credit for not charging KC the TO and just admitting it was wrong.
I think replay assist has been a very positive addition to the game.
Correction* I give them credit for not making KC go through with the challenge and just admitting the replay assist was wrong the first time.
Mike E,
You told me to explain to you like a 5 year old so I will. You have such a hard-on for Tua dislike that you’ve thrown out all your normal common sense. I will use a lot of Kong’s arguments but it’s the reality of the situation.
You want me to believe that McD is willing to throw away this coaching job for Tua’s ego. How does that make any sense at all? In any world? He doesn’t even like Tua and doesn’t trust the dude. Who would?
How well do rookie QBs do their first year, Mike E? Sure, we can use outliers like Daniels at Washington, but he crashed and burned like a meteor in Year 2. How well do they normally adjust? Now, let’s throw in 7th round pick, QB #3. How is that guy going to adjust to the speed of the NFL with an overly complicated scheme made for Tua? He won’t. No chance of that. None. Zero. He needs more time. A lot more time.
Tua has been terrible but what makes you think Ewers will be better? Where is this invisible evidence? McD isn’t willing to go with it, and he sees them every week. The other players don’t want to go with a rookie with no experience over a 6-year vet. Not at all. In any scenario outside of fan delusions. The probable best WR in the NFL, Justion Jefferson is suffering, SUFFERING, with a rook QB who hasn’t adjusted and may never adjust. Pick #10, not 7th round either. The best Michigan QB at Michigan in history. Who has been a total failure in Minnesota with a LOT more experience.
Tua is terrible and so is his OL. There’s no way Ewers could honestly win games at this point in his career if he was in there. I know you want us to lose every game, but McD doesn’t and he runs the team. You would be perfectly happy if we lost every game and then we find out that Ewers really isn’t worth a shit as a rookie. You’d be ecstatic. But that’s not an honest conversation about Tua vs Ewers. That’s just you wanting us to lose. Ewers is nowhere near as good as Tua yet. He may get there and that’s not a high bar. He needs experience on a team that isn’t trying to win.
It’s just like any profession on Earth. If my mom needed surgery, if given the choice, I wouldn’t be going to the dude with zero surgeries under his belt but the guy who’s done it for 6 years. If I needed a house built, the first-time dude would be behind the 6-year vet with evidence of well-built houses. Six-year chef over the new fry cook? Every time for my steak. Race car driver? IT specialist? Barista? Lawyer? Name the profession and I want the experienced dude who has done it successfully in the past over the rook with zero evidence of skill. For you to even be comparing them at this point is honestly wild. It shows you’ve gone past the rational side of your argument.
Tua- 20th in yards. 17th in TDs. 11th in Comp %. 16th in TDs. #1 in ints. He’s not a great QB, or even a good one tbh but saying a 7th round QB in his first year without meaningful snaps and no evidence of gaining, much less retaining, NFL starter level skills is so ridiculous I can’t believe I have to say it.
DOINK!! lol, I am really enjoying KC games this year
^^
New Age, I think MikeE doesn’t think Ewers is better, just wants to see what he’s got since the season is shot. That’s how I take what he is saying.
Though, Tua does give us the best chance to win this season. Again, I think this may be best for Ewers where he is at, learning and running the scout team.
But the team hasn’t given up yet. If the team had given up when we were 2-7, then I’d agree wholeheartedly. His entire argument for weeks now is that the season is shot and Ewers somehow will show us something with almost no NFL experience. That’s just not feasible at this point.
I don’t think Tua is good. I think he’s the best shot at winning games for the rest of the year and that’s why he is still the starter. Going into next year, Tua will still have the experience edge but maybe Ewers can show something during the practice games and in practices. Who knows who will even be leading the team and FO at that point but for this year? Tua is the far better option every single game.
After today’s games, we stayed put at pick #12. Tankathon’s new mock draft is not bad. I would take it.
12 Mansoor Delane CB LSU
45 Trevor Goosby OT Texas
76 Derrick Moore Edge Michigan
81 Elijah Sarratt WR Indiana
87 Michael Trigg TE Baylor
113 Daylen Everette CB Georgia
Even if the Chiefs lose tonight, we will still pick ahead of them since the Dolphins have had an easier SOS.
New Age – How would McDaniel be throwing away his coaching job if he made Ewers QB #2? I understand he’s fighting for his job and that’s why he won’t put Ewers in but Wilson is just awful, he was so bad in his last playing stint with the Jets, and he couldn’t even make 2nd string with the Broncos last season and he was behind Jarret Stidham. Yes, I do think Tua is extremely fragile ego wise, and I do believe that’s why Wilson is now the #2 QB. I think he feels threatened.
I’m gonna tear the shit out of your professional comparisons. If I were going to look for a surgeon, I’d look for a surgeon who’s good, and maybe one that doesn’t leave his scalpel and sponges inside a patient. Or a barrista that doesn’t drop the cup when pouring, or a lawyer that doesn’t freeze up in big moments in the courtroom. Tua is a fucking shell of what he was, it’s not even funny. Why can’t people just accept that? He’s totally ineffective at what he does that his the HC that pounded the table for him to get paid takes the ball out of his hands. I don’t care how good he WAS, he’s not that player anymore, but we’re all supposed to just wait around until he comes back? You think he’s going to come back? You think if somehow we end up playing a game at the end of the season where we need him to win the game by playing like an elite QB you think he’s capable?
I do not think he can do it. He’s been throwing for less that 200 yards on a regular basis, I’d say it’s safe to say this is what he’s become, and no, he won’t win us a game if he has to pass for 300 + yards and more than 2 TD’s against a good defense because he never did that at his peak in 2023, so he certainly can’t be expected to do it now.
Oh, and if you watch the games, he owes any and most all his success to Achane who made more every catch and run than expected. I swear to you if he didn’t have Achane, it would be 100 times worse.
This season
Who said he was a great QB or even a good one? I never did. Your professional comparisons are ridiculous as well. Malpractice and being a bad QB are very far apart. Tua’s just a bad QB but he still can start games.
I never expected Tua to win. He just not that good. McD feels like he can still manage a game or he wouldn’t be out there. Players think he still gives them the best chance to win or there would be rumors in the media right now.
GOOOOO DOLPHINS!!!
I’m so jacked at this fun streak we’re on!
Here’s hoping we beat the stinkin’ stealers*.
PS Wouldn’t it be karma if it came down to the patsies
game,
and they had to rest their stars and cede us a win?
Hey Naples!! Good to see you!
Yeah, would love to see them beat the Steelers and A-Arod.
Chris Jones is eating up the Texans center and LG
But no one is making that argument. You are making the argument for a guy who hasn’t played any meaningful football. No one on this team will follow that lead. Why would the players ruin their possible chance at getting a better paycheck? Tua is terrible but that doesn’t make Ewers good. That’s your argument. Just throwing shit at the wall is better than Tua…but he’s still in the middle of the NFL starter QB pack.
Maybe Achane did bring all the success. He’s still going to be out there next week, and it looks like Wright can pick up and do a solid job if Achane gets hurt again. I have no evidence that Ewers can run this offense. You don’t either is the problem in your argument.
you just made Mike’s point, he’s saying, Tua is done (we can’t be more than avg with him) and so are the playoffs, so it would benefit the future, if we found out what Ewers can do
no one knows if Ewers has IT
by playing Ewers you’re looking for any sign he can at least be a 2nd string QB in 2026
Mike is looking towards next year, while some are spinning their wheels with lame duck MM and Tua
Texans OL needs to figure something out
BBM’s list of QB’s we should draft in middle rounds (seniors only). Not counting underclassmen who could enter.
Brendan Sorsby, 6’3 235, Cincinnati
Joey Aguilar, 6’3 225, Tennessee
Carson Beck, 6’4 220, Miami
Cade Klubnik, 6’2 220, Clemson
Trinidad Chambliss, 6’1 200, Ole Miss
Garrett Nussmeier, 6’1 205 LSU
5th round or later:
Sawyer Robertson, 6’4 220, Baylor
Diego Pavia, 6’0 207, Vanderbilt
Haynes King, 6’3 215, Georgia Tech
Taylen Green, 6’4 224, Arkansas
Luke Altmyer, 6’2 206, Illinois
Jaden Craig, 6’2 215, Harvard
Miller, Moss, 6’2 210, Louisville
Drew Allar, 6’5 235, Penn State
Jake Retzlaff, 6’1 205, Tulane
That’s 15 seniors who should be in the draft not counting any underclassmen who enter. Some still may have 1 more year of eligibility. This will be a large talented QB class, very short on elite talent but deep on good potential.
Cav, we spoke too soon
Yeah, Chiefs have hit another gear.
It’s hard to tell, do the Texans have anyone playing on the oline?
for me this is a 6 of one half a dozen of the other season
we win and there’s issues with the result, we lose and this team sucks, can’t compete
in the win streak the rookies have come alive, that’s great for the future, bad for the draft
arguing with someone about the Fins this year is odd, seems both sides are often correct
Markey is Tim’s optimism on steroids, he’s right for wanting to win, but so are those, that want us to lose
I’ve flip flopped with winning vs better draft picks all season, but always seem to go back to wanting to win
its just how I feel, not right or wrong, just personal preference
As bad as the Texans offense has been, I can’t believe KC went for it there. That was arrogance.
It’s hard to tell, do the Texans have anyone playing on the oline?
——
They borrowed ours
Mahomes is having a Tua game
I can’t believe they went for it on those late 4th downs, especially the first one. In a tie game, they gave the Texans the ball in scoring position when they had completely shut down their offense the entire 2nd half.
I agree 100%, arrogance.
Especially against the #1 defense in the NFL right now.
If the nail in the coffin is that Mahomes INT off the Kelce bobble, that will just close out my day on a positive note.
Although, the Texans win will lower our 3rd round pick from them.
Bonus, Collinsworth looks bummed that KC is going to lose.
Of course, since the Texans won, our 3rd from them dropped to #85 and triggered a new mock by Tankathon. The new one sucks, IMO. lol
New Age – Both of our points probably got lost in translation.
My biggest point is that Tua has become a totally different player, he’s physically and probably mentally not right, and Mike McDaniel knows this and therefore has limited what he’s putting on his plate. He’s trying to limit mistakes, and it’s working.
My reason for wanting to see Ewers is to see what the kid can do, but of course during this win streak and the playoffs still a glimmer, that can’t happen. I mean, it’s a farce, because it’s like a 1% chance even if we win out, and I believe in order to win out, MM can’t keep Tua down like he has, I mean no matter how good your rushing attack is, sometimes you need your QB to make plays, and we’ll see what happens when that time comes.
So, I do understand it’s impossible to replace Tua now during this win streak, but IMO, as soon as we lose, I think the appropriate action would be to give Ewers starters reps in practice and at some point, depending on how he seems to be absorbing the scheme, get him playing time in some games, even if it’s just 3. I kind of expect us to lose to Pittsburgh in their house on a Monday night where the temps should be pretty chilly. Achane and Wright can do the weather, but Tua, even the best version of Tua can’t, and I think the Steelers are going to sell out to stop the run and have Tua beat them
Ok, my bad. You are still with us lol and I agree. Going into next year, it will also be hard, at least at first, for them to give the reins to Ewers over Tua or even for a new QB if they draft one. I fully expect him to start at least 6 games next year too.
I have the same hopes as you. Get rid of them all. I just don’t see that with Tua yet because of his experience and salary. No matter how bad he is, and he’s bad now, they will want to ease a new QB in. Not overload the next big thing, etc, etc. We’re unfortunately probably stuck with him a while longer even though he can’t do the things expected of any decent starting QB due to his concussion risks and fragility.
The same guys we hope will miraculously get anything right moving forward really screwed the pooch…yet again. I no longer hold out any hope, but I’ll still watch the highlights of us stomping any divisional opponent. I just won’t give them any more of my money. Even broken clocks are right sometimes but I truly believe winning a playoff game is beyond our leadership today. Our DEI leadership in Stevie Ross. He should have stuck with real estate and left decision making to the professionals.
MM should be fired immediately after the season for calling that swing pass to Jalen Wright from the 4 yard line with 30 seconds to go in the first half up by 17
This whole offense we’re running is not sustainable. We’re probably going to find that out against the Steelers. He’s going to have to lean on Tua more than he has, we’ll see if Tua’s up for that task. QB’s have to perform in the NFL, it’s how it’s been and always will be.
Yes, but the Steelers D isn’t that good this year, and is sub par against the run. Tua will have to make some plays, probably more than he’s capable of.
I’ve accepted the fact that Tua will be here next year, and likely the starter when he’s healthy. MM will likely be here are well- unless he loses out which is entirely possible given our schedule unless the Pats sit the starters the last game (I think we’ve uttered that statement a few times over the years).
Brian – I haven’t accepted shit! McDaniel is coaching desperate and this style of play is not sustainable against the better teams. You need the QB to do more than he’s done in most cases against teams that actually score, and play defense. We haven’t played those teams the last 4 games. Pittsburgh is in the top 15 of scoring, but you’re right, not great on defense. They’ll be home and the weather should favor them. It will be an interesting watch, I know I want to see what happens
The fact that I haven’t accepted it doesn’t mean it’s not happening, but I won’t accept it because it’s pathetic.
If someone told me before the season started we would have the same record as the Chiefs at this point I’d have asked where they get their weed so I could get some. Yet here we are….
Supposed to have had some emojis after that…
🙄🤦🏼♀️
I was going to post last night, if before the season we were guaranteed to have the same record as the Chiefs after 14 weeks I’d have taken it smiling all the way
So we won? 🙂
Serious question, is Brian Miller retarded?
https://phinphanatic.com/miami-dolphins-playoff-outlook-worsens-despite-a-much-needed-week-14-win-01kbxc132mdt
I just read it and it doesn’t seem retarded. He’s saying what the rest of us have been saying. They can win out but there chances are still slim to none. What did you find retarded about it?
I think the suggestion that out chances worsened after the games on Sunday is a little off
they did not worsen
The colts and chiefs both lost
it looks like only 1 of the ravens or Steelers will make playoffs
I guess the big issue is the Bills won and the Jaguars won
but I really think there’s a good chance the colts and chargers both lose a lot of games left on their schedule
Let’s see what the chargers do tonight
They won’t say for sure to keep competitive advantage, but it looks like Achane came away from the injury yesterday ok. He had x-rays and an MRI that did not show any serious injury. YAY Plus they get an extra day of rest this week with the game next week on Monday.
the way I look at the playoff chances are you really have to
I’m sure it’s been stated before but we don’t have the benefit of a good conference record to end up on the positive side of tie breakers
so if 8 teams (including us) finish with 10 or more wins – we are done
but I think it’s very possible that some of the other teams “in the hunt” finish 9-8 or 8-9 given their upcoming schedule
the final 4 games are brutal for a lot of teams
my candidates for choking teams are
a. Chargers and b. The Colts
both those teams could lose 4 games between now and the close of the regular season looking at both their schedules
then we need the Chiefs to win no more than 3 of their last 4
and either the Ravens or the Steelers to do the same (including the Steelers losing to us – more precisely the Steelers must lose to us and can’t win more than 2 more games)
look at the Colts and Chargers schedule and tell me they are going to win more than 1 more game left on their schedule
I don’t think that’s going to happen
That said – the big thing is – we must win out
that would mean we would win 8 in a row. Not likely, plus we have a pretty tough schedule .
we are halfway there already
As expected, our Sunday night game against the Bengals got flexed out to 1 PM
I honestly prefer that anyway
I think I have asked this before, but why does Ryan Clark wear his own initials as a pin on his suit?
it’s not his initials
he just loves RC Cola!
Lol or the remote control car from Toy Story?
How well do you have to think of yourself to wear your own initials as a brooch.
are you saying I should not wear this anymore?
https://i.etsystatic.com/5696635/r/il/b043b5/5508473212/il_1588xN.5508473212_qdht.jpg
Wear it always
eats because he enjoys Roasted Cock!
😂
did anyone notice that incredibly miserable stat for the jests yesterday?
0 interceptions – all season!
wtf – how is it possible to suck that bad
Good job with the articles Mike.
DBolt!!!! Hey man, good to see you!
Good to see DBolt! Maybe his opinions are allowed! 🤣
Go Eagles
Yessir! Go Eagles is right.
we’re now 2 games behind WC3, going into the weekend we were 3, sure seems like we got some help this weekend
if LAC lose tonight we’ll also be 2 games behind WC2
Colts without Jones and a tough schedule should fall off
KC loss I think helps too, because I doubt Houston loses again and might win that division
Always good to see our old buddy Dbolt in the house!
After we lost in Cleveland to go 1-6, I wanted to lose out to secure a TOP-NOTCH draft pick. Welp… we’ve won too many games now to concern ourselves with a top-notch draft pick.
I’m rooting to win out at this point and hope for some help.
Do I honestly believe we’ll win out? Nope
Do I honestly believe we’ll get some help? Nope
Do I honestly believe that even IF we make the Wildcard, that we will win? Nope.
What does that mean? I think Capri McD is going to get fired at the end of the season, regardless.
But I can ROOT for our team, still!
Love the optimism! 😂
LOL 😆
That was my pep talk for Mike E! It’s okay to win… knowing it won’t be enough to retain Capri McD!
I think we’ll get help, don’t think we win out
some of us were high on Tart, if MM hadn’t fucked that up we wouldn’t have needed to use a 1st on Grant and could’ve taken Tyler Warren
^
As per usghe, Phillips doesn’t get the sack, but he does get a huge deflection
Yup!
Gotta ask: do pressures matter? 😉
Achane officially leads the NFL in YPC @ 5.8. He is a STUD.
https://www.pro-football-reference.com/years/2025/rushing.htm
Jordyn Brooks…
https://x.com/MiamiDolphins/status/1998067783981232130
Tyrel Dodson is 2 (TWO) tackles away from 100 on the season.
When was the last time any team had TWO 100+ tacklers at the LB position in the same season? Don’t know, but I’m curious.
I don’t subscribe to Stathead (via Pro Football Reference), maybe somebody here does?
According to Grok…
2023 The last NFL season where a team had two linebackers with 100+ combined tackles was 2023, with the Baltimore Ravens’ Roquan Smith (158 tackles) and Patrick Queen (133 tackles). No team matched this in 2024, based on stats from sources like NFL.com and Pro-Football-Reference.com. Before that, it happened several times, such as the Ravens in 2022 (Patrick Queen with 117 and Roquan Smith with 86 in nine games, totaling 169 across teams) and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in 2005 (Derrick Brooks with 109 and Cato June with 108).
the Eagles aren’t doing us any favors tonight
Agreed, just don’t buy a Jordyn Brooks jersey, Bro! LOL 😆
I don’t know if you know this but I really wanted a Brooks jersey before we started the season. And if I could have found a rivalry brooks jersey early in the season, I would be wearing it tight now
Well there ya go! Jordyn Brooks is kicking ass because you hadn’t purchased his jersey! LOL 😉
wow I know Herbert is a big guy but he can’t take hits like that
Vic Fangio is smelling blood in the water…
I just saw McDaniels speech to the team after the win
and he actually sounded good. He sounded like he had energy and not like he was high on gummies
How many ums ??
I didn’t hear 1 “um”
😱😱
This Eagles’ Offense is really, really not looking good.
Hasn’t been for weeks now ….
Yup!
all right Saquon!
SAQUON TO THE HOUSE!!!
never seen a broadcast highlight a no call hold
This is a crazy weird game
DICKER the KICKER!
Audi… early work in the AM.
man, I thought our playcalling was bad…
well I hope the eagles don’t win another game after that bs
Piggy – Do you have Tua’s jersey?
nope
Ah, OK, maybe you should buy one. What could happen? lol
Well, at least the Philly loss improved our 3rd from them. It’s bumped up to #85 just before our pick from the Texans which fell to #86.
Unfortunately, I can see the Texans at least winning their next 2 games both at home vs the Cardinals then the Raiders.
Those 2 wins right there will eliminate us from the playoffs.
Chargers and Bills are out of range neither is going to finish the season losing all 4 games which needs to happen for them to lose a spot to us.
That leaves the Texans, Colts, Ravens and Chiefs.
We need the Ravens and Chiefs to lose 1 more.
We need the Texans and Colts to lose 3 of their last 4. It’s a possibility with the Colts but not so with the Texans. Also, Colts are at the Texans for their last game of the season. We would need the Colts to lose their next 3 then beat the Texans on the road in the final game but also have the Texans lose 2 of 3 to the Cardinals, Raiders and Chargers.
The Indianapolis Colts, desperate at the quarterback position after injuries to both Daniel Jones and backup Riley Leonard, are bringing in a retiree to potentially lead the way in a playoff race.
Philip Rivers, the former Colts and Los Angeles Chargers quarterback who turned 44 years old on Monday, will be hosted by Indianapolis on Tuesday for a visit, according to multiple reports.
He should be a priority resign. He’s a solid #2 TE. Resign both him and Hill.
Does Indiana’s HC want a shot at the big time?
I have thought about that as well. I don’t think it is out of the question but he seems very committed to Indiana. His buy out would only be 15m to the university.
I think the way he coaches and leads, he could make a good NFL HC. He is 64yo now. He may feel that Indiana is his last go of it.
Depending on how far they go, he may get some calls.
Randy, here is your homer hype video of the day. lol
“Elite Talent Emerging”, LOL
Maybe serviceable talent emerging.
LOL BS hype!
Mayyyybeee a block in the back….but it wasn’t called.
LOL he breaks down 4 or 5 plays where Jonah BARELY does his job and calls him a beast for it…..
Did Tua even train coming into this season? I know he didn’t get with his trainer of the last couple of years in the offseason. He just looks like a 40 something year old vet still trying to make it a go out there.
If Curt Cignetti were to leave Indiana, I think he would try to bring one or both of his coordinators with him who I really like as well. I think one of the coordinators would stay to take over as HC at Indiana.
Actually, both his coordinators are both on the rise and sought after. He could end up losing them both after this season to be HC at another school. That said, it would have to be for a bigger school as Cignetti made sure that they are both being well paid as it is.
BBM,
I don’t know a thing about Indiana’s HC. I was just throwing it out there. I really would’ve liked to sign Campbell from ISU. If I’d known he was willing to bail on ISU, I’d have put in a call to Ross!
He’s talked about loving coaching college ball, but money talks. Penn State got a good coach. I wish we could.
As far as Jonah, well, I’m just gonna give him time to grow. I may not like how he plays, but I like the “gotta evaluate rookies immediately” mindset set far worse. Lol
Campbell always seemed to have a competitive defense/team no matter their talent level. That’s what I liked most about him. His teams always played hard and disciplined.
That’s how I see Cignetti also.
BBM,
Pretty standard for guys to bring their guys along with them. It’s usually those assistants who are doing all the hard work behind the scenes to make HCs look good, so I’m usually okay with it.
Yeah, Cignetti constantly talks up the excellent job his coordinators do. That’s why he made sure IU paid them well also.
Mainly their DC who is getting paid 2.2m with a 75k retention bonus. He was the one Penn State requested an interview with last year but he turned it down. Their OC is getting paid 1.25m with a 50k retention bonus.
Fuck man! If the Chargers so desperately wanted an old fucker, we could have given them Tua!!!
Colts?
Uh, yeah, Colts. Chargers can have him too if Herbert’s wrist start to really bother him

I’d love to know if Tua trained with ANYBODY after he left Nick Hicks, and for the reasons you state.
My best guess would be… NO.
Felipe Rio (Philip Rivers) was signed to the Colts’ practice squad today. No, he wasn’t signed to their active 53-man roster. He knows the system in place (Shane Steichen… who was also Rivers’ OC as a Charger), has taught it to his son, and he just might get promoted to the game day 53-man roster sooner than later.
What an interesting matter there in Indy.
I’m rooting for ‘Old Man Rivers’… unless Indy prevents us from becoming a WC team this year.
Question for you hardcore NFL Rules guys . . .
Could the Colts have signed a QB off of another NFL Team’s Practice Squad?
Yes, they would just have to sign them to their 53 man roster and not to their practice squad.
I’m surprised they chose to bring back Rivers rather than do that then. There are a few backup QB’s that would be worthy.
We signed ILB K.C. Ossai, 6’1, 240 to the practice squad. He was a UDFA that was recently released. They probably did this to just check him out real good and see if they want to bring him back to the 2026 roster.
Mike, I think M13 pointed it out last night in that Rivers is already familiar with the offensive system.
How much rust does he have though and what kind of shape is he in? He has been coaching high school football and still throwing it around, but still.
why is Rivers familiar with their system? Because he played in Indy in 2020, with a different HC?
didn’t see the post above, guess he does know it
We have Brooks and Dodson returning next year but still think we should draft an ILB at some point during the 2026 draft.
If we don’t and wait until 2027 to draft one, I am keeping Josiah Trotter’ 6’2, 237 on the radar. He is the other son of former NFL ILB Jeremiah Trotter and brother of current Eagles backup ILB Jeremiah Trotter Jr.
He looks faster/quicker than his brother. He’s started both as a freshman (WV) and sophomore (Missouri). In his first 2 seasons he has 176 total tackles, 17 TFL, 2.5 sacks, 1 INT and 3 PD’s.

Another homer video, but it is nice to see the progress of the rookies.
I never like Channing Crowder as a player and have liked him EVEN LESS as a talking head (why do people listen to his show!!!???) but I have to admit that I agree with him on this subject.
https://phinphanatic.com/former-miami-dolphins-lb-says-what-fans-don-t-want-admit-about-mike-mcdaniel-01kc479q34gs
That video was all over twitter this morning. I also agree.
Is it strange that the Colts signed Rivers to the Practice Squad? I guess they can elevate him 3 games before signing him to the 53? I think it’s weird.
He can be elevated the day before game day but then kept inactive as the emergency QB.
Not that I am real high on him but only because he is a RT. Though, he can be a good swing backup tackle to start out. Blake Miller from Clemson could be an option if he is there on day 3. Some have him as a 2nd or 3rd rounder. I’m not sure about that, especially not 2nd round.
“McDaniel is the last guy who will throw a player under the bus…” Say what?
That was a quote from one of the Phanatic articles. Lol
Brian Miller no doubt
MM says he’s pissed when players don’t learn from their mistakes, he may not have called anyone, but he did call the team out
FYI MM we’re pissed that you haven’t learned from your mistakes
BBM,
I have liked Grant from the start, but he is a project sort of guy because he was very unpolished and not very committed from what I saw in college. So be it. He’s a kid. I always believed he was a guy who was going to take some serious coaching and an attitude adjustment on his part. The physical talent is there, and it’s very good.
I like him much more as a 3 tech than a nose. I think once he learns to play the right way and give effort, he can be a pretty good player. We’ll see if he does it. I expected him to struggle. I think the positive thing I’ve seen in about 5 games I’ve seen is that he’s improving. I see him giving better effort, but he still needs to get better.
I wonder now after watching a ton of plays this year if we even have a set system that we run. From play to play the same guys are lining up in the A,1 gap or A,2 gap or straight over the center. Sometimes they shade over to the B gap. Sometimes they have three down, sometimes 4 down linemen.
I’m not sure if we ever use a true “nose tackle’
I don’t think I have seen Grant line up at “nose” once this season.
Sometimes they are one gap and sometimes two gap.
When our D couldn’t get off the field early in the season everyone here was saying how we were making JAGs look HOFers
with that same logic, we should throw out the jets game in evaluation of individual players
No, its smart, they don’t have to use a spot on 53
this was in response to it being weird Rivers was signed to PS
Rock,
I always think of it as covered or uncovered, but I try not to talk that way. In regard to Grant, I want him playing further from the zero. I think he has the power to control a center, but he’s just not good at occupying blockers or controlling two gaps right now….and I think it would be a waste of his physical skills. I’m also not sold that he likes playing inside. I want him working one-on-one with anybody, really. You tend to get that the further you are from zero. Like I always say…it’s all in how you use your DL.
And yeah…the best defensive fronts are made up of guys who you can mix and match as much as possible. Most team will do that if they can.
Rock,
Fucking WordPress deleted a whole paragraph.
I consider the nose anywhere inside the 2 guards’ inside shoulder.
got it
We should have passed on Kenneth Grant and drafted my ‘man-crush’ of the ’25 Draft instead.
Even after missing a large chunk of the ’25 season, my guy DT Walter Nolen is PFF’s #1 graded rookie of the ’25 NFL Draft (he’s established enough snaps to qualify).
What’s more, Nolen has WAY more upside than Grant could ever provide for us… even if Grant pans out as a solid player over time.
Definitely liked Nolan, but preferred Grants size. Happy with the DT rotation right now and the development upside.
We’ll see what happens. Grant certainly can get a LOT better than what he’s shown to date.
I always thought he ate at Michigan being line mates beside Mason Graham.
We should all notice that Zach Sieler hasn’t been eating right this season, after having played side-by-side with Christian Wilkins and Calias Campbell the last two seasons.
I move that Sieler would be eating again this season if Walter Nolen was his side-kick. JMO
M – They were talking about Grant and Sieler on WQAM yesterday, they had Kyle Crabbs from Locked on Phins on and he was saying basically what you just said. He said Grant has been improving and Zeek Biggers play has been good and now you’re starting to see Sieler come on the last few weeks.
MikeE., Apparently Phillip Rivers was not the Colts first choice and the Colts did try to poach a QB off another teams practice squad.
In a conversation with the Denver Post, Broncos quarterback Sam Ehlinger revealed he received an offer from the Colts to rejoin the team with which he spent his first four seasons.
Ehlinger had a chance to join the Colts active roster, but ultimately decided to remain on the Broncos practice squad.
Apparently a player can decline to be poached. I wonder how often that happens.
Wow! That’s interesting. You would think he (Ehlinger) would jump at the chance to lead the team into the playoffs
Speaking of poaching, Matthew Judon has basically done jack shit this season as Chop’s backup. He has even failed sealing the edge quite a few times allowing for good runs or the QB to escape.
I would like to see Andre Carter II, 6’6, 256, who we poached off the Lions practice squad get some snaps. He’s on the 53, make him active a game or 2.
Also on poaching, the Lions turned around and poached TE Hayden Rucci off our practice squad then released him days later. Rucci is currently not on an NFL roster.
Isn’t it vets who are supposed to help rookies and make them better? We’re now expecting a rookie to make a vet better? More insanity.
lol
M13,
Did Nolan spend the 2 months he WASN’T PLAYING eating every pizza pie in the Country? He looks like he put on about 30 pounds! He’s fat.
It’s nice to see the improvements in our guard play. Though, I don’t think it is a coincidence that these improvements have come against shitty teams.
