The Miami Dolphins are now OFFICIALLY OUT OF THE PLAYOFFS! It was going to happen any week now anyway, but it’s time to unmask this entire organization as playing themselves off as Playoff contenders. Masks off everyone! This team should be fighting for the basement, not the top of the division. If there is anyone that still thinks that QB Tua Tagovaiola and HC Mike McDaniel need to come back here next year, you need a rectal exam to see if your brains are stuck in your ass!
“We’re built for cold weather”. In theory, yes, the team was more apt to succeed in cold weather because of the success they were having running the football. At some point though, you need contributions from the passing game, unless you have the kind of rushing attack that you can run whether they know you’re running or not. Despite our success in that area, we don’t have a punishing run game. Achane is one of the best RB’s in the game, but he doesn’t physically wear down defenses. I’m sure they get tired from chasing him, but he doesn’t inflict pain when you bring him down. The Steelers defense sold out and said we’re going to limit the run game, and then of course, you need to lean on your QB, and Tua once again let us know that he’s not only not ready for prime time as we’ve (I’ve) known since 2023, but he’s legit not a starting QB anymore in the NFL, unless he’s able to somehow figure out how to get his body right so he can move, throw the ball with a decent amount of pace further than 15 yards.
I have yet to go on “X” this morning, but I know there will be the usual fucknuts telling everyone it’s not Tua’s fault, he had a QB passer rating over 110, he was 22-28 253 yards, 2 TD’s 1 INT. Pretty damn good, right? Tua was a like shooting guard in the NBA on the wrong side of 145-109 loss, and he was 2-10 shooting and 0-5 behind the 3 point line, until the middle of the 4th quarter during “GARBAGE TIME” when he all of a sudden found his shot and hit 5 three point shots and ended up with 19 points, and that’s not bad at all! Tua didn’t start making things happen until the 4th quarter with the score 21-3. In the first half, Tua was 5-8 for 61 yards, 0 TD’s and 1 INT. How many fucking times is that numbskull going to slide short of the first down marker? Think he needs a few more years before he learns that trick? Not once in this game did either Mike McDaniel or Tua give us a chance to win this game. I don’t care if he’s on the roster, I swear it I won’t watch another game for this team if he’s the starting QB for the Miami Dolphins and even worse, if Mike McDaniel is back as Head Coach. WTF is wrong with McDaniel? Do we not have a “hurry up” offense? How can you NOT have one? We’re down multiple scores and the team is huddling up like it’s the 1st quarter, but it’s not, it’s the 4th quarter! I’m not talking about quick huddles and break, I’m talking about getting to the LOS with 6 seconds on the play clock.
How many times in this type of game have we seen the defense play well enough to stay in the game, but the offense contribute nothing? Too many times I say. I’ll tell you something else, they cannot insult the fans or the team by continuing to start QB Tua Tagovailoa. This truly should have been his last start. Forget Zach Wilson who has 3 games left as a Miami Dolphins player, you have to play Quinn Ewers who is signed through 2028. Let’s see what he can, or cannot do. There is no point in playing Tua, we 100% know he is not the answer to anything other than the question “What is failure?”
SIT TUA, PLAY EWERS, FIRE McDANIEL, FIRE CHAMP KELLY!!!

Thank you, Mike E.!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
YW Krishna!
And, from the previous page….
….it should be enough rope now.
Hang ’em both!
Good write Mike. I really like the part where you state it will be an insult to the fans if they keep playing Tua.
At least if they start Ewers, there will be interest, if not excitement from the fan base because it is at least something different.
It would be even better if they fired MM today and we got to look at a different coach AND QB.
I think Ross should tell MM that if he wants to continue coaching the last 3 games, he has to sit Tua and play Ewers. Tell him it doesn’t matter either way as far as deciding on whether MM should return or not. It really shouldn’t, what could possible happen in the next 3 games that would convince anyone MM has to stay?

Big E, former NFL Fan of the Year saying what needs to be done!
I was catching up on the last blog and came across this, “NEW BLOG UP!!!”
First thought was rutrow raggie! lol
Looks like Jaylen Wright regressed back to mean yesterday. 1 carry 2 yards?
I didn’t watch the game and now I am glad.
That was a pathetic performance by Tua and the the entire offense. …minus Achane of course. It took them until the 4th quarter to get over 100 yards of total offense, -20 yards in the 3rd quarter alone, and went nearly 2 quarters without a 1st down, from mid 2nd quarter until the 4th quarter. Time to move on, I don’t give 2 craps how much Tua is making or how much of salary cap hit we take. Just don’t care!!!!
^^
The best part of the game, besides the defense in the first half, was Aikman and Buck calling out Tua and MM. The world needed to hear it not just from frustrated fans. Ross needs to do something about it.
After the wounded duck INT, I knew it was over no matter how well the defense was playing.
I want a bigger QB! No more of these 6′ fucks. I saw Malik Washington wide open underneath twice and Tua never could see him. It might have had more to do with him going into panic mode after 2 seconds than it did his height. Not sure.
Jonah was close to garbage again.
I was right. After the loss we jumped back up to pick #11.
New Tankathon 4 round mock is nice:
11 CB Mansoor Delane
45 Edge R Mason Thomas
77 OT Austin Siereveld
85 TE Michael Trigg
86 WR Omar Cooper
111 OG Cayden Green
Well that was like a kick in the nuts. What an embarrassment. This franchise is now in the same category as the Bungles at their worst. The Ain’ts with bags over their heads.
In the words of the immortal Jim Mora:
“Playoffs?! Don’t talk about – playoffs?! You kiddin’ me? Playoffs?! I just hope we can win a game!”
BBM,
I would’ve picked Herbert over Tua based on size alone. I hate small QBs.
I was up in the air at the time. That’s how I roll in the future.
College rumors on the street is that Oregon QB Dante Moore is leaning toward entering the draft after the college playoffs. Mainly due to this being a weak QB class and he would probably be a top 5 pick.
Additionally, it is rumored that if Moore does enter the draft, Oregon is going to pursue Dylan Raiola who officially entered the transfer portal.
Florida QB DJ Lagway officially enters the transfer portal. Look for him to possibly move closer to home in Texas. Some are saying Baylor with QB Sawyer Robertson leaving Baylor for the draft.
Scratch that. They have not entered the transfer portal as it does not open until 2 January. They just announced their intensions.
What really sucks for BBM is Brendan Sorsby has announced he intends to hit the transfer portal instead of entering the draft.
Well, I just checked and McDaniel was not fired this morning…..Womp whaaaaaaaa
Ross isn’t going to fire MM now. It would make him look stupid and it’s too late anyway. Let him ride out the season and then send him and Tua packing.
Man, all these QB’s I had an eye on for day 3 or UDFA are hitting the transfer portal. Some are seniors with another year of eligibility.
ECU’s Katin Houser entered the portal and I had him as a 7th or UDFA. He is on the rise. He will probably end up at Oklahoma State, Louisville or Vanderbilt. He’s got good size at 6’3 225.
I was hoping to check him out more in their bowl game vs Pitt but I guess he won’t be playing.
The Commanders are sitting Jayden Daniels for the rest of the season. Partly for health reasons partly for “team reasons”. Daniels looked like a superstar as a rookie, this season he’s been banged up way to much and when he has played it hasn’t been close to what he looked like in 20 games last year.
We should do the same with Tua. Just sit him the rest of the year. (and next year too!)
Ross needs to be 100% clear with all the GM candidates that the decision on keeping or firing McDaniel is FULLY the GM’s decision. That way we don’t miss on candidates that might pass on the job otherwise.
Yes, there are only 32 of those jobs in the world and everybody should want it, but failed GM’s don’t often get a second chance, so it is wise to not take the job if you think you have limitations on your ability to win.
100%
the new GM should be making that decision
I’m rewatching the Tua INT from last night. He didn’t put his body into it, he threw it all arm without his body.
Some of you may recall I said last night in real time that he LABORED with that pass… he certainly did, and it looked like it almost hurt him.
It’s his hip, and it’s been nearly a calendar year since his ’24 hip injury that sidelined him for the rest of the season. JMO, but he’s not recovered from that injury: he’s stiff, immobile, and he can’t hide it any longer. This has robbed him of his deep ball, velocity, and accuracy.
Tua is toast, y’all. And EVEN if he somehow gets his hip healthy again, he’ll still be only one hit away (concussion) from becoming scrambled eggs.
it makes sense that’s it’s last year’s injury that is affecting him now
he was never perfect but he’s night and day between this year and last year
Absolutely agreed.
Hey MF13, where do PFF rank our first round pick?
https://www.pff.com/news/nfl-grading-all-32-first-round-picks-week-15-2025?utm_source=firefox-newtab-en-us
Pick No. 13: Miami Dolphins: DI Kenneth Grant
Grant has yet to eclipse a 65.0 PFF overall grade across 14 games this season, but he has remained above 55.0 in nine straight outings after falling below that mark in four of his first five NFL contests. Against Pittsburgh, Grant tallied two quarterback hurries and two stops, although he earned a negative grade on four of his 20 run-defense snaps.
I honestly don’t recall hearing Grant’s name being called even once last night. He was invisible out there.
Thanks bud! 12 out of 17? Not great, but not as bad as our 2nd round pick…..
No problem!
Continuing to watch the highlights from last night… when Tua scrambles or runs, it looks as though he has a load of poop in his pants. Again, that’s indicative of his hip injury sustained last season.
I just may go back to earlier games this season to see if it was as evident then as it is now. Know what I mean? I mean, now that we’re seeing the evidence to back the claim, I wonder if there was evidence earlier in the season that we just hadn’t paid attention to.
Of course, as the grueling season wears on, it becomes more and more evident with time… hence noticing it now.
Chop was also invisible….again.
I was thinking the same thing. Man, he’s really disappeared this season.
3 more games to go, and Tua has taken more sacks this season (30) than any other season before. His previous worst was 29 sacks in 2023, playing all 17 games.
His now immobility and lack of zip on the ball has contributed significantly to these numbers… it’s NOT all on the O-Line.
Most of the sacks on Tua that I’ve seen this season have come from sitting in the pocket too long and not getting the ball out on time. He longer has the zip on his throws to make the quick-hitters, and he knows it… hence, he won’t throw them as much as he had in the past.
*He no longer has the zip on his throws…
He has taken a bunch of stupid sacks as well. Outside the tackles and not throwing the ball away? WTF!? Does he not know the rules? Does he forget them in the heat of the moment? IDIOT! Don’t take a 12 yard loss when you can literally just throw the ball past the line of scrimmage!!
I’m genuinely starting to think he doesn’t throw the ball away because it’ll hurt his completion percentage.
I don’t know how else to explain a professional QB taking those out of the pocket sacks instead of throwing it away.
The Miami Dolphins have a Tua Tagovailoa problem.
On Monday, the Dolphins (6-8) were officially eliminated from playoff contention following an ugly 28-15 road loss to the Pittsburgh Steelers (8-6). Before padding his stats in the fourth quarter while trailing 28-3, Tagovailoa was 6-of-10 for 65 yards and an interception. He also had a 50 percent pressure-to-sack rate through three quarters, per ESPN NFL analyst Benjamin Solak.
The awful performance spoiled a strong first half from the defense. The Steelers averaged 2.5 yards per play and had two three-and-outs on their first three possessions, but Tagovailoa couldn’t take advantage.
Monday’s loss was a glimpse into the Dolphins’ future. With no clear pathway to improvement, they could be stuck with Tagovailoa in 2026. The future will have to wait.
https://www.espn.com/nfl/story/_/id/47326398/dolphins-mike-mcdaniel-contemplating-qb-change
MM says he might make the change!!
Hopefully, we get to see the mighty Quinn for the rest of the season!
The Mighty Quinn 😂😂😂 Haven’t heard that song in a MINUTE! Nice reference 🤘🤘
I see a clear path…cut his ass and take the hit. Keeping him around will be more damaging than the hit you take by cutting him.
Resigning him was, possibly, the worst move this franchise has ever made. Funny how a few novice fans saw it playing out this way but knowledgeable professionals did not. I really hope he just retires citing health concerns.
we can’t take a 99M cap hit. We are already over the cap….
we can’t even split the hit with a post June1 designation, again, because we are already over the cap…
Yearly breakdown:
I still wish we would’ve drafted Shough. I think he’ll be at the least a nice backup.
Kong,
3 years ago fans were saying Tua held the ball so long because he was a tough, fierce competitor and he didn’t want to give up on making a play! Lol
beauty is in the eye of the beholder lol
It’s not just Tua’s salary that is fucked up. ALL QB salaries need to be revisited. It is just stupid to pay ANY player 20% of the salary cap and think the other 80% is enough to pay the other 68 players on the team!
Rock,
I’ll say what I used to tell my kids when they would say they couldn’t do something. Yes, you can. You just don’t want to. Lol
Don’t have to cut him, just sit his rollie-pollie ass on the bench and get him some splinters!
MikeE,
But, I WANT to cut him. Lol
Honestly, I’d rather sit him and make him 3rd string

———
I’ve never once heard that take in my life regarding Tua. In 2022, our O-Line was so pathetic that he HAD to get rid of the ball in under 2.2 seconds. There was no “held the ball so long” in ’22… nor in ’23.
The ENTIRE idea was that we didn’t need to invest in the O-Line, so long as we had a QB who could get the ball out in under 2.2 seconds.
That shit 100% backfired when we got Tua concussed so many times in a very short amount of time.
M13,
I was talking about what fans of his said….not the design of the offense.
Got ya.
I’ve still never once heard that take… being honest.
Tua lost the team before Capri McD did.
Laughing it up at the end is not a good look for your franchise QB. He got paid and now he could give a shit. Hes going to take that money next year, get cut 2027 and ride into the sunset.
Did anyone see the picture of Tua laughing on the sideline and Center Brewer was looking at him with disgust.
M13,
I remember all conversations I have where I try to explain why our QB gets sacked so often and that it’s not automatically the OL’s fault. Been doing it since Tannehill was drafted. Lol
Back to Kenneth Grant – I asked last night if he was even in the lineup. I really didn’t see him once, I thought maybe he was a late scratch. I never saw him. Did he play?
FWIW – Phillips and Sieler started on the ends, with Benito Jones in the middle.
MikeE,
Yes, Grant played.
Thanks Randy – He played 38 snaps, 1 snap shy of his career high and he had 1 tackle, 1 assist. He was busy getting taken out of the play it seems
I did see him disrupt one run play in the backfield allowing Dodson to make the tackle. That’s all I saw.
Looks like ORob was right on Tua, he told us in 2021 he sucked😜
AW man! I think that’s a big part of why I rooted so hard for Tua, because I didn’t want him, and those other talking heads to be right 😂😂 It really does suck that he regressed so badly. 2023 was a REALLY fun season…until it wasn’t
ORob WAS right! Took me longer, but I knew at the tail end of 2023 that he was never going to win with us. The Cowboys game just showed me he didn’t have that killer in him, he couldn’t rise to the occasion, and he actually got pretty lucky a few of his passes that day weren’t caught by the defense even though he threw it right to them. Aikman was talking about him being lucky this season that he didn’t have more INT’s, and he laready has managed to be #1 in that department regardless with 15. No matter how hard Geno Smith tries, Tua manages to stay ahead. lol
There’s going to be a meeting this afternoon in Miami Gardens as to who will be the starting QB this weekend against Cincinnati. I truly hope it will be Quinn Ewers. Why waste time with Zach Wilson who isn’t on the roster in 2026? If you thought Wilson could have been the QB, you should have sat Tua’s ass a lot earlier and given him a chance to do something this season. Thoughts?
You’ve got my vote
Ewers era has begun! Lol
Tua BENCHED!!! He can hold the clip board next year while collecting his cash then hes outta here.
Yep, saw that from Shefter. Excellent!
It has been done!! I hope Ewers plays well.
I don’t think this was just an MM decision. I think the players had something to say. Again, that picture of Tua laughing on the sideline and Brewer looking at him in disgust said a lot.

Yearly breakdown:
*****
some people will argue that you can cut him now and just eat that dead cap
but I wouldn’t do that
on the other hand, I think that 2027 dead cap hit is okay, not ideal, to take
so, I think the story is the same we have been saying for months now
he’s probably on your roster on 2026 – but probably not in 2027 and you basically have a 2 year window to draft a QB
we aren’t going to be bringing in a free agent QB
Trade him for a 2030 7th round pick. lol
Just get a trade done. A trade saves a bunch of cap.
some one has to take on his salary in a trade so I don’t see it
it’s probably only possible if we take on some one else’s salary
I going to throw out the long shot scenario
if the Bengals traded Burrow, you can see how salary cap would not be a big deal – but of course I think the Bengals would need a lot more (draft picks) compensation too
I’m really curious to see Ewers – but not just to see how he plays
I want to see if he waits until the last few seconds of the play clock to snap the ball
I would also love to see the way he handles the huddle in the last 2 minutes and how fast he is willing to move down the field (so hopefully we are trailing in a close game)
its not supposed about learning about Ewers
it’s about learning about MM
for what it’s worth MM has shown no ability to win without Tua
before this year every other QB in this offense has stunk
this year Tua has been bad too
we are still evaluating whether to keep MM or not as far as I am concerned
fyi
I think in 2026 we play the NFC North and the AFC Weat
so expect a hard schedule
Piggy, Tua will cost a team 25.2m in 2026.
Again, raiders are going to move on from Geno Smith. Unlike Grier, they did a smart contract and can cut Geno with no dead cap. They will clear over 26m in cap cutting him and still clear cap even taking on Tua’s contract. On top of that, they are already projected to have over 100m in available cap space.
So all my comments about not drafting Tua go unheard but ORob gets heard? I guess I need to start screaming and being rude more often! It’s all people remember. Lol
I remember
I’m at work – Is it official that Ewers is playing?
https://www.foxnews.com/sports/dolphins-bench-struggling-tua-tagovailoa-rough-performance-vs-steelers-reports
Awesome! This Sunday will be the most exciting game of the year!
Fck’n Grier
Judon is gone, he was a liability anyway.
I’m glad they are finally benching Tua, it took them long enough.
There are a handful of problems when it comes to Tua’s play, but the biggest problem has always been that he was damaged goods. …Even before taking a snap in the NFL. I said it multiple times on here before we drafted him.
I never thought he would take this team to a Super Bowl and I’m sad that I was right about that…
My wife texted me that Tua was officially benched. I can’t explain the joy . . .
Wow, I might even do some laundry on Sunday!
It’s official! The Mighty Quinn to start this coming Sunday!!
It will be interesting to see how much the line moves on the game. I’m thinking not too much, since we were already a home underdog to a 4 win team even when thinking Tua was the starter.
I am glad Judon is gone! Cameron Goode played much better than him. Bring up the UDFA rookie McLendon from the practice squad and get him some snaps.
Ok. I’m fine with Tua being benched. I think as a HC there’s no way you can not bench him after how he acted and performed on Sunday. You see guys laughing and acting all sorts of weird ways in these situations but not “franchise” QBs. I agree with a comment I heard. I hated losing way more than I enjoyed winning. It wasn’t even a race. Laughing boisterously when I’m getting my ass kicked just makes no sense to me.
But, can we check our expectations for this young kid Ewers, please? I would bet he’s gonna struggle…and possibly badly. This is a rough situation to throw a rookie QB into. That said, you get your chance…you grab it if you’re a player. I’d just like to see if the situation isn’t too big for the kid. Does he compete? At the end of the game, can I think….yeah, this kid can do the job.
Ewers has zero chance to succeed is this garbage O of MM
this offense only works on 1st and 2nd down with wide open receivers
as much as I keep saying Tua was limited, well so is MMs O
Good bye to you too!

Hill throwing up the deuces and fading away….
Well we are getting what we want .. lowered expectations, and a look at Ewers to see if he worth keeping even in a backup role or not .. rest of this year should be all about evaluating people..

Ewers explains how he developed his quick release
Once Ewers picks out his target, it doesn’t take him long to unload the ball.
“It’s a lot of work,” he said of his release. “I felt that I was always a natural thrower with the football and it always came natural to me. It took a lot of work for sure. I give a lot of credit to — he was my quarterback coach by the name of Jeff Christensen. The quick release really starts from my feet. I want to get my front foot down as fast as possible, which allows me to have that quick release at those critical moments.”
An unofficial coach (although he couldn’t have known it) was Dan Marino, who of course also was known for his quick release.
“I’ve definitely watched him play, and yeah, my dad would always tell me growing up that I need to have a quick release like Dan Marino,” Ewers said. “So I grew up hearing my dad talk about him all the time. Definitely watched him play and his release is very quick as well.”
quick release without velocity is Tua, with is Marino
Ewers more like Tua
Tua had 93m fully guaranteed, but in 2025 more was guaranteed
Tua Tagovailoa signed a four year contract extension with the Miami Dolphins worth $212.4 million in new money with a potential upside of $221.4 million. Tagovailoa received $93.171 million fully guaranteed and total guarantee package of $167.171 million. The signing bonus is $42 million and Tuas 2025 base salary and option bonus are fully guaranteed. Tua’s 2026 salary will be guaranteed in 2025. On the 3rd day of the 2026 league year, $3 million of his 2027 salary is guaranteed with another $17 million guaranteed in 2027. Tua will receive roster bonuses of $5 million and $7 million in 2027 and 2028 on the 3rd day of the league year in each season. There are also annual per game and workout bonuses in the contract. The final two years are void years for salary cap purposes.Cash Flows
Tua the bench you go
I just want to see Ewers take off and slide one time this season. If he slides AFTER the line to gain instead of 2 yards before the line, then this was a great move. LOL
I feel like if Ewers runs for a first down and slides past the 1st down marker the crowd should give him a standing ovation
I say thank goodness they didn’t decide to start Wilson. We know he’s not it and is nothing but a placeholder. I’m really excited to see Ewers, but also going to be realistic and not expect to win this, or any other game this year. I just hope nothing bad happens to Ewers and he gets to play all remaining games to give a gauge of where we’re at with him. I am someone who gives people a second, third, fourth chance, but at some point you have to say that’s enough. Tua was pathetic this year. Pathetic! Sure he hasn’t been great for a couple of years now, but he had his moments. He is just so not-athletic and he has no ability to ad-lib or go off script. Really, the defense coming alive in the past few weeks and carrying the team was actually a bad thing. We could have seen Ewers sooner. I would sit Achane too. He’s the only good thing on offense right now, and we need him going forward. Everyone else is trade fodder. But, you need to give Ewers a look with all the (one) weapons and see how he does.
imagine how hard it would be to get excited about Wilson starting this weekend!
Come all without, come all within,
You’ve not seen nothing like The Mighty Quinn
or anything, but that’s besides the point
our O is like ACA designed to fail
15 years and counting….
That’s funny, I just posted the same thing and then refreshed and saw your post. Owe you a beer.
no Mike we’re going to get crushed

Realist – I love Achane, but if you take him away, it’s really not fair to Ewers. Can you imagine what this team would have been like without Achane all season?
yes, just like Sunday with or without
Well, he didn’t look all that good this season, but Arch Manning is returning to school for next year, so maybe we wait until he comes out? Next seasons’ schedule is supposed to be tough for Miami.
I hate the idea of having TWO shitty seasons in a row, but I really really really want a franchise QB. (Not that it is even guaranteed that Manning will be a top tier NFL QB)
I’m with you, but I don’t see anyway not to have a bad season next year given the salary cap situation and draft capital. Also I don’t see any sure fire QB in the draft.
I think I don’t even WANT Arch Manning, because of his name.
Come all without, come all within, you ain’t seen nothing like the Mighty Quinn.
Is there ever a more popular player on a bad team than the back up QB? LOL
I am Sage Rosenfels and I approve this message.
Steve – Why so negative?
Pot 😎
no shit, and what I wrote below 🍺
Waller might have a big game. TEs can be young QBs’ best friends. Ball control offense. Run the ball. Help your young QB.
Ewers isn’t ready and our O doesn’t work for him
——–
So you would rather have Zach Wilson starting? This O fits Ewers more than Wilson. Or are you upset Tua got benched in the first place?
Bradley Chubb might get himself a raise this season with NLTBE incentives.
Bradley Chubb, Edge, Dolphins
Chubb took a pay cut from $20.23 million to $11 million with the opportunity to earn as much as $20.6 million total through incentives after missing the entire 2024 season because of a severe right knee injury (torn ACL, meniscus and patellar tendon) suffered late in the 2023 season. If the Dolphins rank in the top 20 in points allowed, Chubb makes $1.225 million with a minimum of 60% defensive playtime. He gets another $900,000 with for every additional 5% playtime up to 75%. Chubb has taken 71.38% of Miami’s defensive snaps without missing any games this season. Miami is currently 17th in points allowed at 23.1 points per game. There’s also a standalone $900,000 for 78% or more defensive playtime.
With that same top 20 defensive ranking, Chubb gets $1.225 million for six sacks. There’s additional $900,000 each for eight sacks and 11 sacks. Chubb has 6.5 sacks. He is on pace for eight sacks. Thirteen or more sacks without the team requirement are worth an additional $900,000.
The Dolphins have been eliminated from playoff contention, which means the $350,000 incentive for 50% or more regular season defensive playtime with at least 50% such playtime in a playoff win can’t be earned. There’s also $500,000 for being selected to the Pro Bowl on the original ballot.
Not Likely To Be Earned
I’m all aboard the Mighty Quinn train for at least 3 games. We might see Simpson, Moore, and Mendoza in this draft but I doubt we can get any of them. That means I’m game for Mighty Quinn all of next year too. Some really good QBs should be in the 2027 draft as well. It will be interesting to see if the Jets get the #1 pick in 2027 and Arch says no fucking way.
There is really no reason to play Tua anymore this year, and Wilson is a waste. I am glad they are going with the most logical and reasonable option at this point.
Something to look forward to at least.
Wilson is lost in MMs bad O, he’d be better in another O, his ceiling in the right O is higher than Ewers in
no reason Tua ever gets another NFL snap, unless of course for injury
Rock, glad you brought that up. All the incentives earned by any players will be deducted from any carryover we have then any leftovers will hit our 2026 cap.
Right now, we only have +/- 4m of carryover.
Brooks probably reaches his incentives also:
if team is Top 20 in Points Allowed
75% Snaps: $500,000
85%: $500,000
Others who might meet their incentives are Darren Waller (6 TD’s – 750K), Tyrell Dodson, Larry Borom, Ashtyn Davis and Rasul Douglas.
Tua won’t reach any of his to no surprise. Waddle and Seiler have no incentives and I don’t see any others besides Zach Wilson.
Another reason Ewers may be starting over Wilson is Wilson has a per game incentive bonus. If he plays 50% snaps and the team wins he gets 100K every game. Also an incentive if he plays 40% snaps on the season but that one is out the window.
LOL, the math doesn’t add up
did you mean 10%, 20% or 25% and not 50%?
from MM
Why Quinn Ewers?
“The simple piece is I think Quinn gives this team the best chance to win.”
“I’m looking for conviction in quarterback play. Given that he’s a rookie, I think he’ll play the position most convicted. … I needed more conviction from the quarterback.
MM is so full of shit
he was told to start Ewers
if what he says is true, what changes since the last game with Ewers?
that’s rich coming from you Mike (why so negative)
Ewers’ pocket presence is not good, he seemed lost at times, when under pressure
surely the heat will be dialed up, the secondary will crowd the LOS, and he’ll have to throw downfield to get out of the mess
I’m not picking on Ewers, its just a reality in the NFL, that rookies struggle early
QBs that can use their feet have it easier
Steve – I wasn’t always down on this team or Tua, or MM, but I could see that this was over, and they were going backwards. WE haven’t seen shit yet from Ewers, so what you’re siting is scouting reports which don’t add up to shit until he gets starters practice reps with the ones, and then plays a few games
I’m playing the odds, and how rare it is for a 7th rd pick to play anything other than mediocre in his first start
temperature your enthusiasm, chances are you aren’t going to like what you see Sunday
It’s really hard to figure out how much of incentives get deducted from next year. It gets a little crazy. From what I understand there are 2 types, Likely To Be Earned (LTBE) and Not Likely To Be Earned (NLTBE).
Many cases the LTBE are pre-counted against the cap and, if they are not met, that money is credited back to the next years cap. The NLTBE have not yet been counted against the current years cap and, if met, will be deducted from the next years cap.
It’s too difficult to figure out what is LTBE, what is not and if the LTBE has been pre-counted against the cap or not.
Steve, I didn’t explain that clearly.
If Wilson plays 50% snaps in a game and we win, he gets 100K. That incentive is effective in any game up to 10 games.
Another incentive was if he played 40% of snaps on the season he would get another bonus. That one should be no longer achievable.
ok
Steve – It’s year 6, and I kind of felt since the end of 2023 this wasn’t working out. I stayed positive as I could, but at some point I couldn’t get past the nonsense.
We need changes, and sitting roly-poly Tua on the bench and seeing if Quinn Ewers can play is at least one change.
Ewers is setup to fail, MMs O is crap
I wouldn’t play Wilson unless I had to. If they can save money by not playin* him, so be it. Makes sense. It’s not like he’s earned extra pay.
and he’s proven this O isn’t for him
I’m not sure this O fits anyone, even Tua
Your team has just been officially eliminated from the playoffs
but I don’t pay attention to the fans or what they say, I’m not on social media, and I’m gonna go home to my family in my millions of dollars
What is wrong with him?! Omfg
I wish Brewer had just he-bitch man-slapped him in that moment. Looks like he wants to.
yeah, I agree that MM is full of shit. Quinn Ewers does not give us the best chance to win
I fully expect to increase our draft value over the next three games.
But at the same time, we get to see something of the kid and no whether he’s worth keeping as a back up at the least
I saw BBM had mentioned that picture a few times over the last couple days, so I went and found it.
Honestly, that picture says it ALL about how much of a shit Tua gives about football, the team, and the fans. He doesn’t give a f^ck about winning, the playoffs, none of it. Like Rock said above, and Mike E has been saying-along with others-he got his money, he good.
I don’t care what it costs anymore, we should cut his ass and just eat the next year or two. I don’t want this asshole on my team.
Yup…can’t come fast enough.
MM is next. Coach up Ewers because that’s your job. Help him be his best.
MM may be telling the truth about Ewers giving the team the best chance to win.
Tua has lost the team.
Tua gets respect from a D, Ewers won’t get that until he can get them to back off
Who will be blocking for him? Lol
Cav, Thanks! That’s the picture. Not only Brewer looking at him but Austin Jackson behind Tua glancing at Brewer like “Is this motherfucker for real?”
in today’s presser MM, reading off of a pice of paper, still says umm uhh over and over
steveccnv…if the OL is watching their QB, their leader, making light of losing, not giving a shit, why should they….
….I’m pretty sure it’s safer for Tua and better for the team if he’s the backup this week.
I’m by no means saying, Tua should start, I’m saying its not going to be pretty for Ewers at the start of the game and maybe all game
I hope we lose a close hard fought game to the Bengals. That will put the Bengals at 5-10 and us 6-9. Bengals have games remaining against Cardinals and Browns after this weekends game. They beat us and they could win out.
The Falcons need to win 2 of 3 against Cardinals, Rams and Saints.
If we lose out and the above happens, we would be back picking at #9.
Mathematically, we could end up picking a little higher but that has the same odds of us making the playoffs before getting eliminated.
If we win one more, it could really drop us. Though, our weak SOS could be our saving grace there in tiebreakers. Bucs and Pats games will increase our SOS unfortunately.
