I want to wish everyone here the happiest of holidays, and of course, a Merry Christmas! Since we all are fans of this awful organization that hasn’t done anything right for over 25 years and hasn’t yet managed to win a playoff game during that span, at the very least we should be able to enjoy Christmas with family and friends. Enjoy!
Merry Christmas!!

Thank you, Mike E. And, a very Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays to you and yours
Thanks Krishna!
So Jalen Ramsey made the Pro Bowl over Minkah Fitzpatrick. Not that I really GAF, because Minkah will never be a player I like, but Ramsey did nothing for the Steelers this year. Minkah was the better player this year. I wonder if Minkah is still happy to be here.
100-%
but imo the pro bowl was littered with reputation qualifiers this year
Joe Alt, who played 6 games, was selected too
Their stats were almost identical but Ramsey had 3 sacks to Minkah’s 1. Minkah completed more turnovers 3 to1, forced another fumble and had more tackles.
All-Pro has always been the standard of the best of the best, but Pro Bowls kinda used to count too. Now I think it’s garbage
So much of the Probowl voting is based upon name recognition that very often guys are selected due to previous years, not this years performance.
It’s a glorified popularity contest.
Merry Christmas! Happy Holidays! All that!
Merry Christmas to all, and to all good night. Go Fins!
Merry Christmas!
Book club update:
Scott Lynch – Gentlemen Bastard Series
👍👍
I’m 1/2 way through book one and I am really liking it.
It took a bit to get used to because he jumps around in time back and forth so you have to take a moment each chapter to re-situate yourself, but I like the style, prose and character development so far.
The world building is OK (only 1/2 a book in) and only been exposed to the immediate city areas, but the world building is pretty good so far too.
At one point, I got scammed by the scam! No spoilers here, but I enjoyed being taken in.
Time jumping is something that drives me crazy in series and in movies. Some do it better than others, but some leave you sitting there really having no idea what time period you’re in, past or present, and I frigging hate that!
Merry Christmas and Happy Hanukah
thanks for the book intel Rock
Mike, I agree. It drives me crazy sometimes too. In this case it’s not too hard to figure out once you get into the story. Also, When I started the book I was only reading a couple pages and then would have to put it down so without reading continuity it was a little harder to fallow. I think if I had sit and read the first few chapters in one go then I would have figured out where I was at much faster. It’s basically early childhood flash backs, after starting the story in early childhood.
I was reading the 3rd book in Feist’s Firemane series and I kinda got so bored with it I stopped reading it close to a year ago. I ended up re-reading the Dark Tower Series by Stephen King.
I read the series, I know I did, because the books are on my shelf. I cannot for the life of me tell you a single characters name or what story was about.
I can probably name off 20-30 characters from his Rift War Saga though.
Pug makes a reappearance in this series. I know you always hated that name. Hatushaly was a main character, and I know the name of the Smithy, but I can’t think of it right now.
Today is a day that I ask you all to observe a moment of silence for all the piggies slaughtered in celebration of Noche Buena lechon and Christmas Holiday hams
(a tear falls from Piggy’s eye)
To my departed porcine brothers and sisters. Rest well. You lived life full of the same flavor the humans are eating. You grazed the farms from Miami to Seattle. You farted like no other species. You squealed with every breath from your snouts. You will be missed.
Amen.
Let’s Eat!!
Good Night little pig?
I might watch the Hawaii Bowl tonight or at least have it on. It’s the only bowl game on today, Cal vs Hawaii. California has an interesting true freshman QB Sagapolutele who has had some impressive games. Hawaii has a nice WR to keep an eye on in Jackson Harris, 6’3, 205, 4.45 forty.
Piggy,
Keep those tears flowing! Where I’m from, we call that basting. 😋
lol
Squeal!
MikeE,
I didn’t even know the third book in the Firemane series was out. It’s been so long since I started that series, I’d forgotten all about it. Now that even paperbacks are $15 I probably won’t even buy it.
I’ve always wanted to read the Dark Tower series, but I can’t stand King’s writing.
He absolutely tortured his readers (King). The first book came out in the early 90’s maybe late 80’s and then he waited a good deal of time for the next book, and continued to do that. There were 7 books in the series + a bonus book, but Book 7 came out somewhere between 10-15 years later.
Merry Christmas folks!
Merry Xmas all. Will be at Monday Night game in ATL 👍👍
Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays. I’m watching Elf as I type. LOL

He’s got a point.
This makes sense and not an excuse. Unfortunately, we may see a little more of it as far as our secondary and lack of cap space. Hoping we nail a top rookie CB who can jump right in.
I see a lot of trade talk about us trading for Lamar Jackson. Stop grasping at straws and just fucking build the team the right way for a fucking change! Stop trading away draft picks and please clean house of the people that are currently running things and coaching and hire a new GM to run the whole show.
Go Van Ginkel! Fumble recovery and now a sack!
another fumble recovery! I miss AVG more than any other player in the recent past.
Wrong guy. Ross is Van Winkle
The female sideline reporter just called him “Van Winkle”
Merry Christmas, Mobsters!!!

MFer,
Do you work for Dunder Mifflin?
———
LMAO!!! 😆
I’m gonna take that as a yes.
😎
At this point the way you do it is hire your new GM and let him hire his HC. But just one thing… sign Achane to a contract that keeps him in Miami. He’s one of the best explosive weapons on offense in the league.
A TIM sighting! Good to see ya, Brother!!!
Tim, 100%, he’s a generational talent, IMO. He’s better than what Bush was and like a young Kamara. We have the cap 2027 and beyond. He’s better than most WR’s making big money.
Also, 100% on hiring GM and let him hire the HC. Hopefully that HC will hire Kurt Warner to be OC. lol
Right on Tim!
Tying up a ton of money in a small, injury prone RB is a very bad idea. It’s also not how you build a strong foundation of a football team. Teams will adjust to him too. Figure out a way to keep him if you can, but I’m not gonna throw money at him. His best value might be in a trade.
He’s not special. He’s fast. Different…and RBs who rely on speed usually don’t last long.
all RBs are injury prone, but I see where you’re coming from
you need something to keep a D honest. A deep threat (Waddle), and a dynamic RB (Achane), go a long way to making that happen, just need a QB
Ideally you build inside out, NE did it that way, but have had the RBs
once you have key pieces, keep them as long as you can without breaking the bank
Totally disagree with you on this.
steve,
Absolutely. I was talking about how good Achane could be over a year ago. I see what he brings to a football team. If I can keep him, I definitely do….but I also look at his value to the team and how his career may go being a small and kinda fragile guy. If I can sign him for a good contract, I’m in….but I do not go overboard. And, if a team wants to throw picks at him, I’m there for that possibility too.
Building a strong foundation also means you don’t put major investments in the wrong places. I look at every single player as a chip…and how I can best use that chip.
Teams will start playing him differently and also going at his legs a lot more. His athleticism will only lessen…like every player. He can’t become a more physical back as his speed goes, for instance. I’d like to see him prove himself a little bit more before I buy his collector jersey. I guess that’s kinda where I’m at.
I get BBMs Kamala and Bush comps, but both those guys were bigger than Achane. Kamala is much bigger. If they can start folding him into the passing game as well, I think his value goes up.
Lol. So, I don’t think I’ve ever purposely typed “Kamala” in my life, but my computer thinks I’m thinking that. Does it go with Bush or something?
lol, yeah, same difference
We need to stop looking at how players are playing now and start thinking about how they will be in 2028. Unless a current player now will be in his prime in 2028, they are better off as a trade asset to get more picks. It’s about building a proper foundation. That’s why WRs and RBs should not be considered in the first round this year.
Get your QB when you can while still building the OL and defense, and if you do decide to go for a QB, go get him through the draft!!! No more half-assing things, Mr. Ross!!!!
I like this guy a lot if he is there at our 2nd round pick. Plug him in at LG. Maybe someday Jonah can take over at RG and just be a backup for now. Who knows if Daniels stays healthy next year.
Tim,
So I’m not quite sure what you’re disagreeing with. Do you think the team should do whatever it takes to keep Achane? Give him a big, long term contract?
NEW BLOG UP!!!!
What’s up with all these left-handed QB’s from the state Hawaii? Tua, Dillon Gabriel and now Jaron-Keawe Sagapolutele. Also, what’s up with all these QB’s with a side arm throwing motion?
Sagapolutele will be one to watch for the 2028 draft. We need a QB much sooner. He is only 19, already 6’3 225 and a true freshman.
sidearm comes from baseball infield
I played 3rd as a kid and threw sidearm, throwing a football I did it the same way, throwing over the top was forced
