As per usghe with the Dolphins fanbase, there is never a 100% approval rating for any move this franchise makes. I know Rock just hates this move, and I bristled at it as well. I’m not going to kill Sully and Haf before they even get started, but let’s all be honest about something here. These 2 guys came here preaching “competition” at every position, including QB. THERE WILL BE NO QB COMPETITION. Malik Willis will be the 24th Miami Dolphins QB since Dan Marino retired back in 1999. Sully and Haf just handed Malik Willis the reins to the team and it won’t matter if Quinn Ewers throws a TD on every pass in practice and Preseason games, Malik Willis is the starting QB . I genuinely have a problem with that. Competition is healthy, and the fact that so many times in our history we provided no competition at the QB position, it’s a reason we failed. With Tua, we took it to the insane extreme of not only not having competition, but handing him a franchise QB contract before he deserved it, we didn’t even let him compete for himself by playing him on his 5th year contract.
Well, now that Malik Willis is the QB, we just signed a couple of weapons for him. WR Tutu Atwell comes over from the Rams and we re-signed one of our TE’s from last season, TE Greg Dulcich. We’ve also re-signed RT Austin Jackson, and apparently, the ugly VOID YEARS of contracts continue. It’s like getting a new credit card to pay off current credit card debt. Fantastic, I wonder if Chris Grier left behind his “Handbook to Create Cap Hell in the NFL”. In just one week so many things happened. Tua signed with Atlanta so now he’s their problem. We signed Malik Willis and now he’s our problem, or hero, we’ll see which one. We re-signed LB Willie Gay, K Riley Patterson, and oddly enough, also signed K Zane Gonzalez. Apparently, K is one place where we truly need competition. We signed a pass rusher OLB Joshua Uche (Ooh-shay) from the Eagles. We re-signed DT Matthew Butler. We signed a three CB’s that puts us at 43 for now, just kidding, I think it’s 13. We’ll be cutting CB’s in groups once training camp starts.
I know it sounds like I’m hating, I’m not, but I just wonder if Ross wanted a new toy at QB and pushed Sully and Haf to bring in Willis. As all of you here know, I wanted to go forward cheaply at QB, draft a QB in this draft and actually have a QB competition, between Ewers and the draftee, and an inexpensive veteran QB. Being cheap at the QB position got blown out of the water and so did the competition as well. Shame. Hopefully Malik is ready to be a starter, but $45M guaranteed for the next 3 years is far from cheap. Take into account that our roster was not going to be chock full of top talent due to the cap issues we face, we’re not exactly sliding Malik Willis into a favorable situation. We probably need 2 OL (Again!) because Grier got us a defective one in James (3 snaps) Daniels and drafted a defective one in Jonah (2 picks) Savaiinaea. We cut Daniels, so the age old question of how many snaps does it take to get rid of your huge free agent acquisition for the O-line is, a one, a two a *crunch*, a three! 3! Malik Willis might be running alright, running for his life if we can’t find 2 competent OG’s and RT Austin Jackson can’t stay healthy.
Sully and Haf just absolutely better be stellar in this upcoming 2026 NFL Draft. We know we need 2 OG’s, we need CB’s, despite the fact that we have an army of them already. We need a safety now that MFFF made his 2nd departure, this time to the rival NY Jets, who BTW gave him a 3 YR/$40M deal. NY showing the Joisey native some love! Chubb signed with the Bills so we most definitely need pass rushers. That’s a lot of needs in one draft, and I don’t expect to adequately address all of them. This cap mess we’re in will linger for a while, so excellent drafting is in order. Sully gives us our best chance in the last 20 some odd years to be successful at drafting now that Chris Grier has left the building. Talk about pressure, we just spent $67M that we don’t have on a QB while still having 2 gaping holes on the O-line. Sully and Haf have their work cut out for them, I hope they’re up to the task!
GO DOLPHINS!!!

Foist
Good article Mike!
I don’t think I would pout too much over this one.

Yeah, me either. I haven’t taken Slaughter in a mock yet, but he is a stud and could also play OG.
Tradey Pants got carried away here!!! But I think I would still take it!

2027 JAX 4th
2027 LAC 5th
The more I look at this the more I like it. LOL
Still took 7 players at positions of need, but also DOUBLED the draft next year with 6 additional picks in the top 100
I didn’t see anyone mention the tutu atwell signing
I think it’s a pretty good signing
I think our WR room is going to be a little chaotic. Lot of guys trying to prove themselves. Throw him in the mix
I like the signing. He hasn’t had a stellar career but he’s an NFL WR who can make big plays. He’s played both on the outside and in the slot, and he will beat defenses with his speed.
It was mentioned yesterday evening and I even posted his video last night
Thanks MikeE!
Actually, I think the Austin Jackson resigning was a good move. He was already on the books for 9.5m in 2027 dead cap from void years Grier made.
JES reduced his cap hit by 9m this year and only increased his 2027 dead cap by about 3m to 12.8m. He did this by getting him to take a 4.5m pay cut then converted another 1.5m into a per game roster bonus where he has to be healthy and available to get that money. The other 3m was pushed to dead cap in 2027.
IMO, that is nothing close to a Grier deal. He actually saved 4.5m and possibly more if Jackson gets injured and misses some games.
I don’t want to hear VOID years in any further contracts. I hate dead cap money more than anything. Let’s stop the nonsense. Right now we’re grouped with perennial NFL failures Jets, Saints and Browns with most dead cap in ’26. In ’27 we’re still top 10, which is better than #3. I want to be on the other half of that equation by 2028. What’s worse is so much of our dead cap hits are on players that aren’t even on the team.
Dolphins sign OG Jamaree Salyer formerly of the LA Chargers. He’s had 40 NFL starts
Nice
Also signed S Zayne Anderson formerly of the Green Bay Packers
Yeah, posted him yesterday. He was a top ST ace for GB.
more players I never heard of
I don’t want to hear VOID years in any further contracts.
———
I hear you. I don’t think anyone has bitched more about future dead money than you, Rock and myself.
Especially because of the way it is handled when the player leaves!! These numbsculls “spread money out” that isn’t really spread. It all accelerates into the current year when the player leaves.
EVERY SINGLE ONE HAS DONE SO
Yep
Nobody like my restocking of 2027’s draft? LOL
I liked it. lol
I kind of did the same last night but with only 3 future picks. My 3rd trade down I went from #23 to #28 for just 2 future picks and no 2026 picks. lol
Rock – If our GM doesn’t trade up in this draft I’ll feel like we got 3 extra picks in the 2027 NFL Draft. lol
🤣
For some reason, I feel a trade down from #11 then trading back up from #43 for one of the RT’s in Blake Miller or Iheanachor.
Just to get a rough idea of what it will take to trade up in the range to get RT Miller or Iheanachor.
I traded down from 11 for 17, 50 and 157 and took Safety Thieneman.
I then traded 43 and 75 to move up for pick 30 and a 2027 5th and took RT Blake Miller.
I tried pick 43 and 87 for pick 30 and it was declined.
Did any of you guys post about his already?
Dolphins added a new OG to the roster to compete with Braeden Daniels, Josh Priebe, and Kion Smith and Jonah Savaiinaea.
Former Chargers guard Jamaree Salyer. He started 14 games as a rookie and 17 the following year before being relegated to backup.
MAN those are the ONLY guards we have on the team. I knew we needed to draft some, but man-o-man! We basically don’t have any.
LOL – Yes, at 10:33AM
LOL I see now. The conversation immediately turned to the safety they signed.
Atlanta Falcons general manager Ian Cunningham said definitively Friday that the team is bringing in Tua Tagovailoa to compete with Michael Penix Jr. for the starting quarterback job.
I don’t think Penix will be healthy enough to start the season, so there really won’t be a competition
We initially just put a tender on Ethan Bonner, but the Dolphins have officially signed him to the roster today.
BTW – I was listening to Mike Florio on WQAM, he makes a weekly appearance on Friday’s on the Joe Rose Show. They were talking about the Raiders – Ravens trade that was nullified by the ravens after doing a medical exam after the trade happened and finding things they didn’t like with the meniscus that was surgically repaired. Florio mentioned that the Raiders should have insisted that the medicals were done before the trade was consummated, because the Raiders thought the trade was a done deal, and went out and spent money on contracts they probably wouldn’t have if they still had Crosby on the roster with his $35M cap hit.
What’s even crazier is that Florio was saying there doesn’t even have to be a medical red flag to nullify a trade, there is no such rule, and that any NFL team can nullify a trade as long as it is done before the league year begins. Both teams have to send their trade information and parameters to the league office and they must both be identical. In other words, no team is protected from a team pulling out of a trade before the league year starts (Free Agent negotiation period, this year that was March 3rd-March 10th and in fact, any player or team can back out of a free agent signing too with no ramifications during that time.
In other words, the Ravens could have just said “Fuck it, we changed our mind, don’t want him”. Florio recommends that the NFL set up a rule that protects teams from getting duped. It’s a strange thing for sure, and it does seem unfair. It’s not a common event, I would guess you would get a bad reputation and no one would get involved with trade talks with a team that does stuff like this more than once, or maybe other teams will already avoid dealing with the Ravens in the future because of how they handled the trade.
There are rules in the CBA about bad faith bargaining
and pulling out of an agreement after some one relies on it is often considered bad faith bargaining
but the CBA is not an agreement between teams. If the ravens agreed to terms with, for instance with Hendrickson, then he cancelled other meetings, and then they withdrew an offer that was accepted and relied on by him – it would probably violate the CBA
but between teams there doesn’t appear to be anything like that
it would be Simple rule that requires bargaining in good faith so some one just can’t pull out of a deal they made bc they had second thoughts
I’m not saying I know the ravens did that – but it looks kinda of like they did and the NFL has a vested interest in preventing that IMO
but I think some people also believe in hands off negotiations and generally buyer beware philosophy
so I imagine some owners would vote against it
@schadjoe
After losing Jaelan Phillips, the Miami Dolphins smartly pivoted to add Jalen Tolbert to join Jaylen Waddle, Jaylen Wright and Jalin Conyers.
@DanGrazianoESPN
Dolphins signing long snapper Tucker Addington, per his agent
@KRS3Sports
Jordan Schultz
@Schultz_Report
Sources: Former #Cowboys WR Jalen Tolbert is signing with the #Dolphins on a 1-year deal. Tolbert is close with Malik Willis, who was his QB at the Senior Bowl when they were entering the league. The versatile WR had over 1,000 receiving yards and 10 TDs with Dallas over four seasons.
So now that’s 2 more serviceable WR’s on the roster. Makes the likelihood to draft a WR early smaller.
Yeah, I am thinking one of the big guys on day 3.
BBM wants Dolphins to draft Indiana WR Charlie Becker in 2027 anyway.
I think I’d rather lead the league in Wins, rather than less cap space, more dead cap money and more variations of Jaylen, Jalen and and Jalin’s on the roster. lol
Piggy – Yeah, I’m not a lawyer, so you would know a lot better as to what the deal is with the legal ramifications, but it sure seems like the Raiders got the short end of the stick, especially since the Ravens signed Hendrickson simultaneously.
I think even if the NfL wanted to look into it
they would be relying on some vague interpretation of some integrity rule
I also think the raiders got shafted
If im the raiders i have a talk with Crosby about staying with the team
they probably won’t get a deal like the ravens offered again
No doubt! I think the Cowboys are interested, but not at the price of two 1st RD picks.
Crosby has come out and said he’s staying with the Raiders
We signed punter Seth Vernon.
I didn’t realize we lost Bailey to Atlanta.
Yeah, and his 3m per yr contract was just under the amount we needed to factor in the comp formula. Sucks.
Man, I’m stupid. I always thought every trade was finalized after all medicals were done.
I think this is unique, because it was before the NFL League year began business, or as it’s called the free agency “meddling” period.
Tolbert gives us some size at WR 6-1 195. He’s a solid vet but nothing special.
Agree.
Let’s hear it Rock and MikeE! The terms of Greg Dulcich’s contract are out. He signed a 1yr deal for 3.11m and that was posted initially on Spotrac. Not the case. His cap hit for 2026 is only $1,698,000.
He actually signed for $1,145,000 base salary and a $1,765,000 signing bonus. The signing bonus is spread over 5yrs of which 4yrs are void years.
When he becomes a free agent in 2027, we will have a $1,412,000 dead cap hit on Dulcich.
LOL! Yay!
Saw the size comparisons for Tua and Malk. At least Malik is throwing with his natural arm side so he’s not physically being held back from being his best.
Pass rusher David Ojabo is signing with the Miami Dolphins, per source. Former second-round pick of the Ravens gets a fresh start with new Miami regime.
Wow, 2nd RD pick. I guess the Ravens miss on picks too!
We’re stocking up on pass rushers, that’s for sure. That and DB’s
Meh
Mike, I think pass rushers and DBs will continue in the draft. When you have a defensive HC he won’t tolerate playing bad defense.
Absolutely! We can’t sign anyone expensive so make a bunch of low level signings and draft at those positions again and hopefully you come away with decent depth and talent
Yep
Unquestionable arm strength, but he’s not using much of his lower body to generate torque. He ought to get with Nick Hicks for training… he could be throwing Marino-esque BOMBS out there.
Trying to understand the point of multiple void years.
If the void year(s) money all comes due at once when the player leaves the team, then it’s really just a single void year.
But if we re-sign him next year, then I assume we can incorporate the extra void years $$$ into the new deal either pushing back the single void year or removing them altogether in the new deal?
So it’s about a bit of flexibility in the cap for possible re-signing?
Great question, and I’m not sure either.
The signing bonus gets spread out equally for the life of the contract that includes void years.
You give someone a 1yr contract with a 12m signing bonus on top of their base salary with just one void year. You pay 6m of the bonus this year and 6m next year in dead money.
You give someone a 12m signing bonus on a 1yr contract but add 3 void years so you divide the 12m bonus by 4 yrs. You pay 3m of the bonus this year, then pay the remaining 9m the next year in dead money when you have more cap space.
It’s just cap manipulation.
It’s the J. Wellington Wimpy Rule. lol
Oh, I thought Rock said it all comes due when the player leaves the team, but your saying a portion of it (the signing bonus) actually does stay spread out for all the void years?
Reading is fundamental. Scratch what I said. I see you get to pay less signing bonus this year if you have multiple void years, even though you still pay the rest when they leave the team?
I see the benefit now
Thanks for the explanation
It’s spread out on paper, but once a player leaves the team all money owed on paper gets accelerated to that current year.
Like the Ducich contract. They did a 5yr contract (4 void years). His signing bonus 1,765,000 is split up over the 5 year contract so we only have to pay 353,000 of it this year. The remaining 4 yrs will be accelerated to be paid in full in 2027 at 1,412,000 when he becomes a free agent next year.
Yep, I get it now. I was slow on the uptake. Thanks 🙂
I don’t see us doing much more in free agency. Our roster is almost at 70. Think 20 roster spots for our 9 draft picks and 11 UDFA’s.
Good dude, level headed.
Agreed. I think he’s got it from the neck-up, and we already know he’s got it from the neck-down.
He’s a big dude. Strong guy.
Indeed… and he’s not only strong physically, he’s mentally and spiritually strong. Seems pretty smart and wise as well. He’s a hard man to break.
let’s go SJU
in the Big East Finals!
It would be great if the can beat UCONN tonight!
I never minded General Grief moving up and down the draft boards, but I minded WHO it was he’d ultimately select to move up or down for.
Honestly, I’d be VERY good with Sully moving up and down the draft boards (even if just once) when the Draft is underway. IMO, it would maximize value while addressing our many needs.
Seriously, for every mock simulation I’ve done (MANY!!!), I’m either too early or too late on certain STUD prospects at certain positions of need. Yes, we’re talking about getting the BPA at positions of need.
A trade-down from R1P11 could fix that. A trade-up from R1P11 could fix that.
A trade-down from R2P43 could fix that. A trade-up from R2P43 could fix that.
A trade-down from R3P75 could fix that. A trade-up from R3P75 could fix that.
Ya get the idea.
Regardless of what you think of the Malik Willis contract, he’s an easy guy to root for.
+100000000000000
Now nobody go out there and buy his jersey (*cough cough Pigster* 😀 ), but I think he’s going to do this franchise proud.
don’t worry. I’ll just buy the jersey if whomever our first round pick is
🐖💨
16 of the players they added during free agency just this week are 27yo or older.
M – I think Grier whiffed on every single trade up. I can’t think of one that was a winner, and that includes Waddle
I disagree with Waddle, but I don’t think it was good value. You don’t trade up for a WR, especially when Devontae Smith was going to be there anyway.
They are different types of WRs, but they have similar numbers. I’ve been bashing that trade for years .
Bri – Waddle wasn’t worth the 5th pick in the draft on its own, let alone the 5th, 12th, a 5th RD and then a 1st RD in 2022. How can you disagree? He’s not a #1 receiver, he’s a #2, just like DeVonta Smith that you mentioned
The terms are out on the Malik Willis contract. His cap hit this year is not 8.6m nor is 2027 at 29m. He got a 5yr deal with 2 void years. His 22,250,000m signing bonus is spread over 5 yrs reducing his cap hit this year to 5,672,000m.
So, if he is cut after 2027, we will have the remaining 3yrs of signing bonus as dead cap in 2028 at 13,371,000m.
If he plays out the 3yrs, his dead cap in 2029 will be 8,914,000m.
While some of us hate this because it hurts future cap, EVERY team does it. Some do it more than Grier did. Grier just caved in and gave out shitty contracts in the first place.
I think we can expect more of the same from JES. Looking at some of the big Packers contracts and they all have void years. Jordan Love will have a 34.7 dead cap when his contract is up in 2029. Parsons will have a 20m dead cap when his contract is up in 2030.
I don’t see them doing this with anymore players though this year or maybe even next year with the cap space we have. They had to save as much cap as possible to field a team this year.
Miami’s Free Agent Redemption Song
Miami’s Free Agent Redemption Song
Nobody, and I mean nobody, saw this coming.
Nobody could have ever envisaged a week ago that your Miami Dolphins, your cash-strapped, harbingers of footballing doom, would be leading the way – by some distance – in terms of free agent signings. Most of us believed that we would attempt to make a run at Malik Willis, but would probably lose out to a team that could poison pill us out of the race by simply offering more money than we had in our shallow coffers. And that even if we did sign the Liberty standout, we’d be scooping up sloppy seconds post-draft in the 4th and 5th tiers of free agency, with nary a care in the world as we marched towards a high pick in 2027 and a salary cap that we could finally be pleased with.
And yet here we are, four days and a few hours in, and we’ve added not five, not ten, not fifteen, not even twenty, but twenty-four players in a Dollar General shopping spree from right out of left field. As I sit here close to midnight on Friday night we’ve come to an agreement with four of our own free agents and twenty of someone elses: Malik Willis, Tutu Atwell, Jalen Tolbert, Ben Sims, Jamaree Salyer, Matthew Butler, Robert Beal, Seth Coleman, Willie Gay, David Ojabo, Joshua Uche, Cameron Goode, Zayne Anderson, Alex Austin, Darrell Baker, Miles Battle, Omar Brown, Lonnie Johnson, Marco Wilson, Tucker Addington, Zane Gonzalez, Riley Patterson and the UFL punter Seth Vernon.
Of course, it’s all about competition. I think, save for Malik Willis, you could make a fairly compelling case that less than 10% of them will be on the roster in two years. In fact, if you told me that Willis would be the sole surviving player from this group in 12 months’ time, I wouldn’t need to sit down or take time off from work for shock.
General Manager Jon-Eric Sullivan talked about building a team from the inside out and significantly improving competition across the board. It’s hard to argue that he hasn’t delivered on that second point, creating a level of competition for places the likes of which we haven’t seen in Miami in a long time.
And there’s a fundamental theme running through one of the position groups that pertains directly to draft strategy, which I’ll get to. But here are a bunch of young, hungry players on short contracts with something to prove. With redemption songs to pen.
Just cast your eyes at those names and tell me I’m wrong: Take Atwell and Tolbert, for example. The former weighs as much as one of those handbag dogs you see a Kardashian carrying around in a Loewe Puzzle – Google it. The latter had a dramatically down year after a strong 2024 and got lost in the George Pickens/CeeDee Lamb show in Dallas, struggling to get off press as teams figured him out.
Suddenly, the pair find themselves in a room with a view to a future in the league if they can gel quickly in South Florida.
Or what about Salyer, who stood in at LT for Rashawn Slater for 15 games when he was hurt and was so impressive that the Chargers barely missed a beat. Yet when the All-Pro former Northwestern star returned to the line-up, he was kicked inside and struggled to the point where people view him solely as a T for a team with two open guard spots?
Or Beal, a wide 9 edge with 4.4 speed, who’s strong against the run, a core special teamer who can play inside as a 5T, yet has flattered to deceive in San Francisco.
Or Ojabo, so highly thought of in the pre-draft process that many people thought he’d go on night one. The Scottish edge, who tore up the Big 10, only to tear up his Achilles at his pro day and then his ACL in Indianapolis in 2023. He, with just 4.5 sacks, needs a breakout season in the worst way.
Or even Marco Wilson, whose most famous contribution to football in Florida was chucking an LSU player’s shoe 20-yards down the field in The Swamp, resulting in an unsportsmanlike conduct penalty which gave the Tigers a critical first down against Wilson’s Gators and put them in range to kick a game-winning FG, which Cade York duly did.
You think he wants some redemption?
You won’t find many of these signings on anyone’s top 100 lists of free agents. But if the aim here is to improve the bottom of the roster and engender a level of competition for careers, which has forever been a problem, then hats off to all involved.
However, there’s also an interesting indicator of what the Dolphins do come draft night, hidden in the details.
I firmly believe they’ll take a trench player unless perhaps Sonny Styles falls, or his teammate Caleb Downs. I think they’ve identified the strength of this team, which is running the ball; they’ve signed the second-best running QB in football, and as aforementioned, they have gaping holes at G. Step forward Penn State LG Vega Ioane to slot in between Pat Paul and All-Pro Aaron Brewer.
But I digress: so many mock drafts have Miami taking one of LSU’s Mansoor Delane or Tennessee’s Jermod McCoy, with Delane a real favourite of the mockers. However, take a look at the players Sully has signed at corner: Alex Austin is 6’1, Darrell Baker is 6’1, and Miles Battle is 6’3. Add those to the incumbent group, and what you have is Ethan Bonner at 6’1, and JuJu Brents and Isaiah Johnson at 6’3.
Sure, Marco Wilson is 6’0 even, as is Jason Marshall Jr, but both project inside at the nickel where Sullivan’s Packers thrived with Pro Bowler Keisean Nixon at just 5’10. As good as Delane is – and he is – do we think, given where things are trending, that we’re taking a 5’11 corner at 11? It just doesn’t fit the profile. Especially for a guy who projects outside. And although McCoy was slightly taller at an even 6’0, he’s not been seen by anyone running or changing direction in 15 months.
That doesn’t – under any circumstances – sound like a Jon-Eric Sullivan draft pick. Especially in a draft that features North Carolina’s Marcus Allen at 6015; Washington’s Tacario Davis at 6037; Stephen F Austin’s Charles Demmings at 6011; North Carolina’s Thaddeus Dixon at 6010; Georgia’s Daylen Everette at 6012; Toledo’s Andre Fuller at 6010; Ohio State’s Davison Igbinosun at 6021; Alabama’s Domani Jackson at 6010; Aggie star Will Lee III at 6014; Cal’s Hezekiah Masses at 6010; Houston’s Latrell McCutcheon at 6017; Florida’s Devin Moore at 6032; Arkansas’s Julian Neal at 6015; Washington’s Ephesians Prysock at 6033; Memphis’s Jaidyn Dennis at 6’2; Houston’s Zelmar Vedder at 6’3, and Wake’s Karon Prunty at 6’2.
I think, given the size profile and indeed, the sheer numbers boosting competition, along with the argument that Rome wasn’t built in a day, you could decipher that potentially the Dolphins don’t touch the CB position until at least the third round, and even then it would be with a long corner to match what’s clearly a house style.
And whoever it is, they’d better be ready for competition. Because under Jon-Eric Sullivan, that’s clearly the new fight song.
If all this is true, let’s be patient and see where we are and where we’re going this year…one step at a time after inheriting shit.
Of all the players we resigned, gave futures contracts to or signed during free agency, only QB Willis, TE Dulcich, K Gonzales and Edge Goode have any guaranteed money where if they don’t make the team we will have dead cap this year on them.
There are 28 other players we resigned, gave future contracts to or signed in free agency who have no guaranteed money and will have no dead cap if cut.
Though, there are 11 more free agent contracts that have not posted yet in Lonnie Johnson, AJ green, Darrell Baker, Willie Gay, Matthew Butler, Riley Patterson, Joshua Uche, Alex Austin, Tutu Atwell, Jamaree Salyer and Marco Wilson.
Actually, there are 13 more free agent contracts to hit. Add Ben Sims and Jalen Tolbert.
I didn’t realize that Edge Robert Beal Jr we signed from the 49er’s at 6’4, 250 runs a 4.48 forty. He’s another quick Edge with some size.
I don’t see anything much different than all new regimes who inherent a shit show do. Bring in bodies…start the weeding out process….hope you get a few guys who stick. Move on.
Pirty much
Agreed. Can’t give him too much credit for filling the roster any more than we gave Grier credit for doing it. Have to see what the finished product looks like.
I saw an article thumbnail that says “Former Dolphins player signs one year contract with Giants”. It has a picture of John Harbaugh. i thought to myself “It’s talking about Dolphins and Giants and the idiots put a picture of the Ravens HC”…
It’s going to take some time to adjust to the new NFL world, lol.
Lots of fake reporting out there and they don’t even post the right people. Not just in sports but music and entertainment as well. Forget politics that’s been going on a long time. 😂
M13, not going to post it here, but you have to check out the video/song Chris Webby “Raw Thoughts VII”. It’s the latest in the Raw Thoughts series. It’s been out for 10 days now but is getting shadow banned on the internet by the powers to be. This is the strongest one he has done and really points some fingers. It’s apolitical also. Again, he displays his lyrical genius.
There are so many doubles that are hard to catch if you are not thinking and listening. Like “Gippetto pedophiles”. He’s referring to Gippetto as the elite puppet master pedophiles but also Gippetto who was played by Tom Hanks in the Disney movie who has been accused of being a pedo. Whether he is or isn’t, I have no clue. That’s how I took that one.
He does make some disturbing references that may offend some.
Fascinating! I’ll check it out, Bro. Thanks.
Speaking of music, Mike E should recall that my favorite producers of all time are Jimmy Jam and Terry Lewis… one of the few funk acts I’ve never had the opportunity to get to know on a personal level.
This guy breaks down Janet’s “If” — track by track — and only gives a subtle shoutout to them by mentioning them as “Jam and Lewis”… SMH!
This digital geek was doing alright for being a digital geek, but he doesn’t know how we did it back in the day on tape… not digital. The last 3 minutes of the video, he chose to play the pads over Janet’s vocals… proving he’s tone deaf… LMAO!!!
One of the greatest tracks ever produced, IMO, by Jimmy Jam and Terry Lewis… Miss Janet KILLED this song!
My walls were covered in Janet Jackson posters in college, but she hasn’t done anything for me lately.
If I understand correctly, Janet’s about to come out with a new album and do another world tour… haven’t been keeping up on her for a while. Saw a picture of her in recent weeks and she looks as good as ever.
Janet was (and I think still is) one of the sexiest women on the planet back when we were in college, SB7.
Same goes for Karyn White. I’ve had the honor and privilege to speak with her on the net. Beautiful, sexy, and so cool.
At this time other than QB, RB and TE I could see us drafting any other positions based on who could be there at #11.
Please don’t bring up K and P 😂
What about long-snapper? They count, too! 😆
We re-signed him, you #$&@!!!!
😂
I am leaning Edge, OL and Safety. The vet edge we have brought in haven’t developed into top edge rushers but have been solid backups and ST guys. The only OL we got in OT/OG Salyer is just a solid backup at RT. He rather sucked moving into RG for the Chargers. He will be battling with Carter Warren for a backup RT/OT role.
Post-Combine, seems to me that Vega Ioane is our most popular pick at either R1P11, or after a short trade-down. I’m VERY good with that, being that’s what I’ve been doing for weeks on draft simulators, when Mansoor Delane goes off the board before we pick.
We still need to see what Jermod McCoy does at his pro day (is he fully recovered from his ACL?), so it’s premature to write in stone the name Vega Ioane as of right now. Plus, there might be a STUD who falls to us @ R1P11.
The breakdown that Krishna posted, from Simon Clancy, was very good… but Simon is already two weeks late on Vega Ioane: he didn’t dream it up as his own idea.
As for Simon’s size-comparisons to whom we’ve brought in as FAs vs Draft prospects? That’s a very dangerous game to play. If one follows a strict size edict, one rules out half of any given draft class… and particularly the best in class.
Is there something there to be seen? I dunno. Maybe, maybe not.
What I do know? Last time we tried to do that (size-restrictions under the Tuna), we flamed out quickly. And if it hadn’t been for the Wildcat, we would have flamed out even more quickly.
I like Simon, and especially his writing style (PROPS!). However, I think he’s wrong in his opinions… and that’s just IMO.
There’s one thing for sure, IMO: we want to get taller at the WR position.
That’s the way I see it, I know at least 5 big WR’s I like in the 4th and 5th range.
I still believe in Chop. He should be our Von Miller and we add to it. We might be in good shape on the interior. The secondary definitely needs some players but we’ve added a bunch of them. OL no doubt.
We need to lock up Achane. The combination of him and Malik is not easy to defend.
Tim,
I’m kinda confused about how they’re really gonna use Willis and Achane, actually. Achane is best when he hits the LOS fast and then makes a move to break free. Slowing down Achane with the whole…stick it in there pull it out maybe….just slows Achane down. I don’t want him getting slowed down behind the LOS. Willis’ threat is his legs…not his arm.
How do you see them working together? I like the idea of a running QB. I’m just not sure how they’re compliment each other. What would be nice is if we can find that guy who can exploit the drawn up defense in that middle/medium area. Now, if Willis can keep the ball and Achane is gonna get open in that area…I like it.
The guessing game, the play-action with 3 options. We’ve only had 2.
Decent but I feel we don’t need another shorter (under 6′) slot WR. Especially at #11.
Also, I think that simulator you are using has Lorenzo Styles position wrong. He played Free Safety at Ohio State after converting from WR.
Looks like CB Darrell Baker Jr is a lock to make the team. His contract hit the books and the entire contract is guaranteed. If for some reason he doesn’t make the team, it’s a $1,262,500 dead cap hit.
