Malik Willis becomes 24th QB since Marino

As per usghe with the Dolphins fanbase, there is never a 100% approval rating for any move this franchise makes. I know Rock just hates this move, and I bristled at it as well. I’m not going to kill Sully and Haf before they even get started, but let’s all be honest about something here. These 2 guys came here preaching “competition” at every position, including QB. THERE WILL BE NO QB COMPETITION. Malik Willis will be the 24th Miami Dolphins QB since Dan Marino retired back in 1999. Sully and Haf just handed Malik Willis the reins to the team and it won’t matter if Quinn Ewers throws a TD on every pass in practice and Preseason games, Malik Willis is the starting QB . I genuinely have a problem with that. Competition is healthy, and the fact that so many times in our history we provided no competition at the QB position, it’s a reason we failed. With Tua, we took it to the insane extreme of not only not having competition, but handing him a franchise QB contract before he deserved it, we didn’t even let him compete for himself by playing him on his 5th year contract.

Well, now that Malik Willis is the QB, we just signed a couple of weapons for him. WR Tutu Atwell comes over from the Rams and we re-signed one of our TE’s from last season, TE Greg Dulcich. We’ve also re-signed RT Austin Jackson, and apparently, the ugly VOID YEARS of contracts continue. It’s like getting a new credit card to pay off current credit card debt. Fantastic, I wonder if Chris Grier left behind his “Handbook to Create Cap Hell in the NFL”. In just one week so many things happened. Tua signed with Atlanta so now he’s their problem. We signed Malik Willis and now he’s our problem, or hero, we’ll see which one. We re-signed LB Willie Gay, K Riley Patterson, and oddly enough, also signed K Zane Gonzalez. Apparently, K is one place where we truly need competition. We signed a pass rusher OLB Joshua Uche (Ooh-shay) from the Eagles. We re-signed DT Matthew Butler. We signed a three CB’s that puts us at 43 for now, just kidding, I think it’s 13. We’ll be cutting CB’s in groups once training camp starts.

I know it sounds like I’m hating, I’m not, but I just wonder if Ross wanted a new toy at QB and pushed Sully and Haf to bring in Willis. As all of you here know, I wanted to go forward cheaply at QB, draft a QB in this draft and actually have a QB competition, between Ewers and the draftee, and an inexpensive veteran QB. Being cheap at the QB position got blown out of the water and so did the competition as well. Shame. Hopefully Malik is ready to be a starter, but $45M guaranteed for the next 3 years is far from cheap. Take into account that our roster was not going to be chock full of top talent due to the cap issues we face, we’re not exactly sliding Malik Willis into a favorable situation. We probably need 2 OL (Again!) because Grier got us a defective one in James (3 snaps) Daniels and drafted a defective one in Jonah (2 picks) Savaiinaea. We cut Daniels, so the age old question of how many snaps does it take to get rid of your huge free agent acquisition for the O-line is, a one, a two a *crunch*, a three! 3! Malik Willis might be running alright, running for his life if we can’t find 2 competent OG’s and RT Austin Jackson can’t stay healthy.

Sully and Haf just absolutely better be stellar in this upcoming 2026 NFL Draft. We know we need 2 OG’s, we need CB’s, despite the fact that we have an army of them already. We need a safety now that MFFF made his 2nd departure, this time to the rival NY Jets, who BTW gave him a 3 YR/$40M deal. NY showing the Joisey native some love! Chubb signed with the Bills so we most definitely need pass rushers. That’s a lot of needs in one draft, and I don’t expect to adequately address all of them. This cap mess we’re in will linger for a while, so excellent drafting is in order. Sully gives us our best chance in the last 20 some odd years to be successful at drafting now that Chris Grier has left the building. Talk about pressure, we just spent $67M that we don’t have on a QB while still having 2 gaping holes on the O-line. Sully and Haf have their work cut out for them, I hope they’re up to the task!

Denver receives: Waddle and Dolphins’ 4th-round pick (11th in round) in this year’s draft. Miami receives: Broncos’ 1st round pick (30th overall) along with their late 3rd and 4th round picks (30th in each round) in this year’s draft.

  2. son of a son of a shula's avatar son of a son of a shula says:

They get Waddle and our 4th

we get 1st, 3rd and 4th from them

  3. Mike E.'s avatar Mike E. says:

Awesome for us! Very happy about the trade!

  4. son of a son of a shula's avatar son of a son of a shula says:

2 – 1st round picks now. Maybe we go up to get a blue chipper 🤷‍♂️

  5. bailbondmike's avatar bailbondmike says:

This was not a bad move as Waddle’s cap hit in 2027 was 33.8m and 37.2m in 2028.

Waddle’s cap hit to the Bronco’s will only be 1.8m this year unless they are taking on more of this years dead cap for us. He will cost them 24m in 2027 and 27m in 2028.

They just cleared another 33.8m in cap next year.

  6. bailbondmike's avatar bailbondmike says:

    We now have picks 11, 30, 43, 75, 87, 90, 94, 130, 151, 227, 238.

Mock draft BBM is so happy right now. LOL

  7. bookman11's avatar bookman11 says:

I love the fact they are tearing this down (or blowing it up, whichever you prefer) and making it their team. Building a team using the draft, what a refreshing concept.

The UCF edge at 30 👍

  10. bailbondmike's avatar bailbondmike says:

Waddle’s total dead cap this year is 23.2m with no future dead money.

This increases our dead cap this season to 108m with Tua and Chubb’s dead cap still yet to hit on 6/2.

  11. The Flying Pig's avatar The Flying Pig says:

and there goes my current jersey….

  12. bailbondmike's avatar bailbondmike says:

Tutu Atwell’s contract updated. His $1,262,500 cap hit is 100% guaranteed. That was telling also as it already made him a lock for the 53.

  13. The Flying Pig's avatar The Flying Pig says:

    getting a 1st, a 3rd and a 4th and giving up Waddle and a 4th is good compensation

    • steveccnv's avatar steveccnv says:

its not great or even adequate compensation for a player of his talent, but when you’re rebuilding it makes no sense to carry his high salary, that in the grand scheme of things does nothing to help you win a championship

for that reason it was a smart trade, something Grier knows nothing about

  14. The Flying Pig's avatar The Flying Pig says:

can probably use the 30th pick to trade for a 2027 first round pick

  15. The Flying Pig's avatar The Flying Pig says:

also, I know some of you hate it

but this makes Lemon or Sadiq a lot more likely at 11 IMO

    • Mike E.'s avatar Mike E. says:

Not necessarily. EDGE and CB are much more important than WR or TE

      • The Flying Pig's avatar The Flying Pig says:

I know they are more important but if the best players at edge and CB are off the board, we also have the 30th to work with and we can take a playmaker

I think drafting for need is a mistake when you have as many holes as we do and as many picks.

we now have 4 3rd rounders, 2 first rounders and a second round pick

    • bailbondmike's avatar bailbondmike says:

I don’t think so at all. Lemon is a slot WR. We have about 4 slot WR’s on the roster already. I don’t think they will value Sadiq that high either. I do like Lemon a lot though I see him a lot like a Malik Washington.

  16. bailbondmike's avatar bailbondmike says:

Jamaree Salyer’s contract hit. I wouldn’t say he is a lock to make the roster. His cap hit is 1,262,500 but only has 187K guaranteed signing bonus.

  17. The Flying Pig's avatar The Flying Pig says:

    my point above still stands

if the top 3 pass rushers, Mauigoa, Styles, Delane, and Downs are off the board and you can’t trade down, do you turn to playmakers like Sadiq or Lemon

looking at most the mock draft, it seems like that might be the case

At 30 you can also look at edge players like Zion You g or TJ Parker as well as a bunch of good OL that may have been reaches at 11 but are on the line between the first and second round

also Anthony Hill and CJ Allen fall in that range too

as well as DBs like a Colton Hood, Gerald McCoy (only bc of injury concerns) and McNeil-Warren

    • bailbondmike's avatar bailbondmike says:

if the top 3 pass rushers, Mauigoa, Styles, Delane, and Downs are off the board and you can’t trade down, do you turn to playmakers like Sadiq or Lemon

      ———–

No, I take Safety Thieneman or OG Iaone. I value them over Lemon and Sadiq. Waiting on McCoy’s pro day but I will more than likely value him over them also.

  18. Rockphin's avatar Rockphin says:

WOW! Jaylen waddle traded to Denver Broncos for the 30th pick

I didn’t think they would get that much!!

    • steveccnv's avatar steveccnv says:

cap hits for 27 and 28 combined of 56m says the trade had to be made, getting 30 a 3rd and swap of 4ths is just what it is

trade is good for Denver, because they’re in win now

it works for us, because of contract dump, the comp is a bonus in our situation

  19. The Flying Pig's avatar The Flying Pig says:

    BBMike

Iaone is great in a phone booth but not very mobile I think he’s a horrible fit for our scheme

    • bailbondmike's avatar bailbondmike says:

There are many who say Iaone can play in any scheme and is the best pass pro IOL in the draft. I think it was Baldy who said Iaone may not be the best at outside zone but he is the best at everything.

      • The Flying Pig's avatar The Flying Pig says:

okay, I haven’t actually watched him, I’m just basing what I said on reading scouting reports, I dont really see him as an option if he can’t play in a Zoning scheme – but if the coaches think he can play, I have no problem with that pick at 11 in fact, I think it’s probably a better pick than the skill, players I mentioned or the other two players you mentioned.

to me it’s a big question mark for him – can he play zone

but I think the coaches know best

  20. steveccnv's avatar steveccnv says:

wonder what Malik thinks of the trade🤪

  21. steveccnv's avatar steveccnv says:

forget about the 2026 record, go BPA with every pick

  22. bailbondmike's avatar bailbondmike says:

cap hits for 27 and 28 combined of 56m says the trade had to be made

    ——–

His cap hits for 27 and 28 combined was 71m, 33.8m and 37.2m.

  23. The Flying Pig's avatar The Flying Pig says:

I think when it comes to WR, TE, CB, or Safety, the draft is pretty deep, and having 5 picks between rounds 3-4 is a real asset, even if we don’t address those positions with our first few picks

for me, the well dries up fast at edge, Off ball LB and OL

so an ideal situation would be our first 3 picks there – but I really don’t want to reach for a player

something like Mauigoa, Zion Young, Anthony Hill would be a Dream to me

or Sonny Styles, TJ Parker, Iheanachor

    or Bain, Pregnon, Trotter

then you can look at Safeties and skill positions with the later 5 picks of rounds 3 and 4

  24. The Flying Pig's avatar The Flying Pig says:

really if you wanted to be a little nutty, you can spend a lot of those early licks on defense

we have some good yo7 f players, in Chop, our 2nd year DTs, Dodson, Brooks, Seiler and I think Marshal and Trader have potential

If our early picks address edge, 1 LB and DBs we can really be a good defense sooner rather than later IMO

  25. bailbondmike's avatar bailbondmike says:

I’m just basing what I said on reading scouting reports,

    ——–

I read those same scouting reports and was thinking the same but then I saw some breakdown video’s on him that changed my mind on him.

    • bailbondmike's avatar bailbondmike says:

I think what most of those breakdowns were saying is Iaone has a very good and quick first step to go with a ton of power that makes him a scheme fit in any offense. It’s just in open space, he becomes more average. They all rave about him being elite in pass pro.

  26. Tim Knight's avatar Tim Knight says:

Wow the rebuild is in full effect. That’s a good trade for Waddle. I don’t care about the cap hits, we have to get out from under all those contracts moving forward. We knew this season was going to be rough to set set ourselves up for the future.

  31. bailbondmike's avatar bailbondmike says:

I expect to see some extensions very soon on Brooks, Brewer and Achane. They have to clear some cap fast with the extra 11m cap hit on Waddle.

  32. bailbondmike's avatar bailbondmike says:

I could see WR Chris Brazzell coming in at #30 or WR Omar Cooper at #43.

  33. pheloniusphish's avatar pheloniusphish says:

Denver is absorbing all of Waddle’s contract. Cleats $11.6M in cap this year, no cap hits next year or 2028.

    • bailbondmike's avatar bailbondmike says:

I saw that. They are actually only taking on about 5m of his dead cap. It’s a portion each year for them so they only have a 4.9m cap hit on him this year and a little added on in 2027 and 2028 for them.

The savings though all accelerates to this year for us at 5m. So instead of an extra 11.5m dead cap, it’s only an extra 6.5m dead cap for us.

We will still be under the cap and get a bunch more on 6/2, after Tua and Chubb come off the books.

    • bailbondmike's avatar bailbondmike says:

I think NBC reported it as “all” but seeing other reports saying it was only 5m. Either way, it was a good deal by JES.

  34. The Flying Pig's avatar The Flying Pig says:

    I hope we keep Achane

but you have to assume, his value in a trade is as high as it will ever be

that said- as Tim mentioned, you never get great value for a RB

it doesn’t make sense to give him away for picks that are not really high value

he’s not real expensive and you get more out of him than the picks will ever lead to IMO

    • pheloniusphish's avatar pheloniusphish says:

I’m attached to him only because he is the only exciting player on the team, but I would take a 1st and anything else for him.

I don’t see us going WR in the first with either of these two picks. We definitely have the opportunity to grab two studs from positions of immediate impact or we can pick up trade capital for next years draft if the plan is targeting a QB.

We’ve been in this position before though. JES has a chance to really make a statement as the GM.

I think McCoy will test really well. He was ready to play at the end of last season. Doubled down with big and fast boundary WRs. Was going to double at Safety with Nwankpa but he is going to be gone was before 227 and thought that wasn’t going to be fair so took Allar. Though, Allar is likely to go before then as well.

  45. bailbondmike's avatar bailbondmike says:

According to SI, the Dolphins are set to meet with sleeper wide receiver prospect Zavion Thomas ahead of the 2026 NFL draft.

I just posted him a week or 2 ago as a Day 3 WR prospect. I am glad JES is reading us. LOL

    Think Tyreek Hill. He’s 5’10, 190 and ran a 4.28 forty.

  46. rich0322's avatar rich0322 says:

I’m not going to say I told you so. I had a feeling there was going to be a major player or two traded and more picks acquired. I did mention Waddle as a possible trade multiple times, and for once I was right. LOL

It’s definitely a better return on the trade than I thought we could get, so I’m happy overall. This definitely helps my mocks because I was always trading down in the 1st to get another pick early.

  47. bailbondmike's avatar bailbondmike says:

Tutu Atwell’s contract hit. It’s standard vet minimum at $1,262,500 but it’s a 100% guaranteed. Go figure, he’s a lock to make the team now.

So all them sites reporting the Broncos were taking on all or some of Waddle’s dead cap were wrong.

Both OTC and Spotrac are showing a 26.3m dead cap hit. That puts us over the cap for top 51. Something will have to happen as far as new extensions for a couple players/

  49. Tim Knight's avatar Tim Knight says:

I think Sully has done very well getting this rebuild started. Everyone knew he had to deal with cap issues so he attacked it from the get go. Eat the dead cap now releasing and/or trading big contracts while acquiring more draft capital. He also added a QB he’s high on. He’s done what he said had to be done without saying too much.

Can’t lie, I’m going to miss Da’ Penguin. However, we got great compensation for who I feel is not a TRUE #1 WR and is often injured… it’s all good, IMO, being we aren’t competing for the Lombardi Trophy in ’26 anyway. AND, we no longer have anybody on our roster who makes over $12M/year.

Achane is next, and that one’s going to hurt me being I drafted him to us (not literally, of course). If we can net a 1st rounder in exchange (I think we can), ya almost have to do it. The fire sale is on, and there’s no need to keep Achane around until we’re competitive again. Bought him relatively low, now sell him sky high before he gets injured as a ‘smaller’ RB.

Green Bay doesn’t draft WRs in the 1st round (last Draft was a RARE exception!), so I don’t expect us to draft a WR with either of our two 1st round picks. Day 2? Absolutely, perhaps even two WRs.

It’s going to be a very long ’26 season for us, quite obviously… we won’t even have to tank it to get a top-5 pick in the ’27 Draft… or so it would seem.

  53. Mike E.'s avatar Mike E. says:

Been waiting to talk about this all day! Love the trade, but in some ways it makes me question even more why we wouldn’t just run with Ewers, a drafted QB and an inexpensive vet QB. Willis really won’t be surrounded by talent on offense, so why bring him here on a 3 YR contract? End of rant! Still happy about the trade

  54. Rockphin's avatar Rockphin says:

Kyle Crabbs all choked up over the Waddle trade. LOL

I am surprised that we got a 1st, 3rd and the swap of 4ths. I guess the value of the 1st is lower on the chart so it off-sets a little. Especially because they are also off-setting our cash, or so it is rumored.

I will say that Sully is making my mock drafts more active. LOL As per Crabbs, we will have 7 or 8 picks this year before we took our 4th pick last year.

Now, Achane is my favorite player….I did buy his jersey (but gave it to Chef Warren) but if someone calls offering a 1st, I would pull that trigger in a second. With that many picks (3-1st, 2nd, 3-3rds) you can move around get your players, move back some and get future picks a round higher for waiting, but in a draft that is reported to be much superior to this years draft in quality.

    ————

I’m good with that… ONLY if the cost is strictly ONE of our now four 3rd rounders… I don’t think it would kill us to do that. Plus, somebody would have to fall a little bit.

For example: if David Bailey falls to R1P7-ish, I’m willing to trade up. We can’t afford to trade up as high as possible to land him, being it will cost us much more… and we need to diversify our investments early in this Draft as much as possible (translation: we want to keep as many day 1 and day 2 picks as we can to address serious positions of need).

    75.7 miles per hour

It was a Senior Bowl record, breaking a mark of 62 miles per hour, set by Josh Allen”

  61. ElephantRider's avatar ElephantRider says:

Love the Waddle trade! Even more if Den is eating all the $.

As far as Willis…he had no great WRs to throw to in GB. He still made plays with his legs and bought time for the WRs to get open eventually. Thats what he’ll have to do here. This won’t be the old Tua timing offense. I’m happy about that too! Now of the 2 second after the snap WR isn’t open the play isn’t a colossal failure every time.

I started this mock and I literally said to myself out loud “Ok, you have plenty of picks just pick where the picks are” Then the draft started and that went right out the window after my boot. LOL

  64. twicethethe's avatar twicethethe says:

I also feel like they wanted Malik in house not just for the potential on the field but also for the leadership in the locker room – they already know what they are getting on and off the field. Pretty important when trying to reset culture and expectations (yet again for the 5,000 time over the past decade).

I’m worried about McCoy at 11 bc he’s coming off an injury

      but Pregnon, Lawrence

      • The Flying Pig's avatar The Flying Pig says:

Pregnon, Lawrence, Kilgore and Reiger late

        are great picks

      • mf13ss's avatar mf13ss says:

I agree, Pigster. We’ll see how McCoy looks at his pro day soon. If he looks like crap, he’s off the board.

I have a hunch that he’s going to look very good, but we’ll see.

  66. ElephantRider's avatar ElephantRider says:

This team is going to be unrecognizable by the time the season starts. That’s a good thing. What was there wasn’t working.

I think Achane will be dealt eventually. Will hate to see him go but can’t fault it either.

  67. Tim Knight's avatar Tim Knight says:

If we stay where we are in the draft we can basically go BPA every pick while leaning on needs. We can use multiple positions. But I don’t think we’ll stay where we are.

    • mf13ss's avatar mf13ss says:

Exactly, just as I’ve been sayin’. We have a LOT of ability to move up-and-down the draft boards to target specific players who fit our mold.

      • mf13ss's avatar mf13ss says:

And again, I’m just glad it isn’t General Grief doing the picking. I think Sully is going to rock for us.

      • Tim Knight's avatar Tim Knight says:

We could trade down from #11 and up from #30 or in other rounds. Four 3rds is a lot of trade ammo.

    • The Flying Pig's avatar The Flying Pig says:

      I think that’s right

with one caveat, that on edge, we can’t wait too long. Everyone needs edge and the well dries up fast. I hope we can get an edge player before round 2 ends

“I can do better” means I can do better than what I just posted above

    ——-

Just cut and paste my last one. 😉

  71. bailbondmike's avatar bailbondmike says:

I think Achane is part of their plan.

  72. Tim Knight's avatar Tim Knight says:

You guys aren’t heavy enough on the OL with your mocks. You’re overloading the same positions. I expect 3 OL before our draft is said and done whether it’s 11 picks or 8. You can’t run the ball effectively if you can’t block the plays. Hafley has said running the football is paramount. It goes along with his defensive philosophy. The pilot is the QB. Gotta give him a chance to make plays.

    • mf13ss's avatar mf13ss says:

Bro, in my last mock, I got us both Pregnon and Trost. Honestly, ya can’t do much better than that. Both are ZBS/OZBs, and both are the best in the biz based on their ’25 tape and metrics.

If that’s not good enough, I don’t know what is.

  73. Tim Knight's avatar Tim Knight says:

I’m for re-signing Achane so we can be competitive as we rebuild. He’s not in a dire situation, this team still has talent and we haven’t drafted yet. Nobody knows how it’s going to pan out. Malik Willis will play a major role in that.

    • Mike E.'s avatar Mike E. says:

I’m just as fine with trading him as well. If they can get top value for him and maybe Achane isn’t even the type of back they like, maybe get future picks for him. Let them build how they want with who they want

      • Tim Knight's avatar Tim Knight says:

I’m not taking anything less than a 1st and to get that other 4th back. Achane is one of the most productive and explosive players in the game. You don’t trade him just to do it.

  74. Tim Knight's avatar Tim Knight says:

M13, look at how our division is building. We have to block it. We have some good building blocks and competition but it’s time to get really good, we’re going to need it. We have the draft capital to do it. We can still add defense to what we have as well.

Hafley wants to impose his will on teams both sides of the ball. That starts up front. It’s going to be interesting for sure.

  75. Tim Knight's avatar Tim Knight says:

Would you take a 1st next year and a 3rd this year for Achane? I’d probably do it but wouldn’t be happy because he’s a great playmaker.

    • bookman11's avatar bookman11 says:

I like the thought of getting a 1st rounder next year for Achane. It allows us to be flexible in a draft that will have numerous QBs to go after if we need to. It does create another hole that being RB, but that can be filled with a 3rd round pick as RBs are undervalued anyway. I think RBs and WRs are positions this regime will NOT over-draft for.

  76. Mike E.'s avatar Mike E. says:

Tim – I wouldn’t trade Achane just to do it, I’d do it to get a first RD pick, either this year or next year and maybe more

  77. Mike E.'s avatar Mike E. says:

Tim – I’m always looking at the team, never one player. I think Achane is a very good player, he was the only thing that kept us in games a lot of the time, because Tua was just fucking horrible. I think that 1st RD pick and maybe another pick would be more valuable to our new team though. We need to get a QB, and if somehow Malik Willis is that QB, we can really get some impact players for our defense next year with two 1st RD picks

  78. pheloniusphish's avatar pheloniusphish says:

The only way I would take a 1st next year would be packaged with a 2nd and 4th this year.

    • Mike E.'s avatar Mike E. says:

Eh, RB’s don’t usually bring back tremendous amounts of compensation

      • pheloniusphish's avatar pheloniusphish says:

He’s more than a RB tho. More of a RB/WR combo.

      • Mike E.'s avatar Mike E. says:

Yeah, but not really. I know he’s a pass catcher, but he doesn’t run WR routes. He’s like any pass catching back, he can catch them in the flat and make stuff happen, screens and short passes. He’s great at that, I mean how many times did Tua throw a pass either behind the LOS or basically at the LOS, and Achane turned that into magic. Still, that’s what a receiving RB is expected to do, he just does it better than most

    • bailbondmike's avatar bailbondmike says:

      I’m with Felon on this.

  79. sb7mvp's avatar sb7mvp says:

Some team has to be stupid or desperate to trade a 1st for Achane, especially a first and a 3rd. I’d take that in a heartbeat. The running back market just doesn’t lend itself to those kinds of returns for RBs.

There’s also no guarantee Slowik will get the same production out of him that McDaniel was able to do.

Of course don’t trade him just to trade him, but everyone has a price.

  80. bailbondmike's avatar bailbondmike says:

I don’t look at Achane as just a RB either. He is a talent at the position that doesn’t come around very often much like an Alvin Kamara in his prime. Since he has been drafted, there hasn’t been one like him drafted. There isn’t one like him in this draft, not even Jeremiah Love. No one has the stop and go acceleration Achane does.

    • bailbondmike's avatar bailbondmike says:

He also not just a RB. Achane has more receptions over the last 2 seasons than any other RB in the NFL at an average of 72.5 receptions per season. That’s a lot.

  81. bookman11's avatar bookman11 says:

In a timely post, Adam Schefter is reporting that the Dolphins are telling teams inquiring about Achane that he is not available. That was posted today.

  82. bailbondmike's avatar bailbondmike says:

Looks like WR Jalen Tolbert s a lock for the 53. He got a 1,262,500 fully guaranteed contract also. I think that was a mistake. He struggles to get open and can’t beat press coverage.

  83. Randy's avatar Randy says:

You guys are vastly overhyping Achane. You did the same with Tua after 2023. I like Achane. He’s a good back, but he’s not what you guys are making him out to be. He had ONE…repeat….ONE good year so far. Now he’s all that? Nah. Trade him if you can. If you can’t, fine, but let’s get some semblance of sanity here.

  84. Mike E.'s avatar Mike E. says:

    BBMike – Remember Terry Kirby?

  85. Randy's avatar Randy says:

Don’t we also need to extend or re-up Achane? Sure as hell hope these new guys don’t hand out ridiculous contracts like the last guy did. Feeling like you HAVE to keep a guy is a recipe for disaster. Now’s a good time to stop that crap.

  86. Randy's avatar Randy says:

Maybe they’ve been hearing from teams on trades and the compensation for Achane isn’t worth it. Nobody trades 1st round picks for a RBs. I hope that’s not their expectation. Has it happened in decades?
