Only limited chaos last night I see. LOL

I wouldn’t be upset with what you guys picked.

    • steveccnv's avatar steveccnv says:

me either, even with Mauigoa’s back

we really need to hit on those first 2, if one of the top guys are gone at 11 I’d hope we could trade back a little

at 30 wouldn’t mind trading back a few spots either, but only if several targeted players for 30 are still there

don’t want to trade back, just to trade back and pick Koa Misi

I would probably take Young over Any of the CBs if I realized he was on the board

I agree with this post. I think edge is more critical than CB. Chop is a disappointment, if not a bust.

    • steveccnv's avatar steveccnv says:

he’s probably more immature, than a bust

his rookie season Phillips and Chubb were both hurt, so he got as much PT as he could handle

his 2nd year they were both back, he played less and probably cried about it, unlike Van Ginkle when he was here

being the man again we’ll see

I hate wordpress! I tried all the way up to 9pm to get back on.

    Great job MikeE!!

  4. bailbondmike's avatar bailbondmike says:

    LMAO!

R1 P31 – Patriots – Needs – EDGE, OL, DL, TE, WR, Rub -n- tug, Diana Russini

If you get a rub-n-tug, you don’t get Pregnon

  5. bailbondmike's avatar bailbondmike says:

Gotter done and will be interesting to see how close we get.

  6. bailbondmike's avatar bailbondmike says:

Another thing to keep in mind tonight is some players will higher on their board than what the consensus has out there. So there may be a player they pick that seems a little of a reach but not to them. Every team has a couple of those picks anyway.

I can remember watching many drafts and thinking damn that guys was a 4th rounder and so and so took him in the late 2nd.

Just like these edges in DDS and Derrick more where the consensus has DDS a very late 3rd and Moore a 4th rounder. I bet both go before we pick at 75. I hope not.

    • Mike E.'s avatar Mike E. says:

Absolutely right! I’d bet a lot of teams boards look very different than what we see on m any of the major sites.

      • steveccnv's avatar steveccnv says:

aiight, I’m going to hold you to that this weekend😜

cause we all know the first time you feel we reached…

  7. Rockphin's avatar Rockphin says:

This is the first year that I watched anyone’s Big Board videos. (I watched Crabbs’ Youtube podcast) I thought Crabbs did a great job with his horizontal and vertical board. I really liked how he color coded things like athletic freak talent and injury risks with color codes. I also liked how he showed position flexibility by placing the players card 1/2 in one position and 1/2 in the other position.

The way he broke it down let you see a lot of information just at a glance.

  8. Rockphin's avatar Rockphin says:

I am so focused on the Draft tonight that I can’t get any work done. (and I need to! LOL)

So I read that the NFL has reduced the time allowed for each pick tonight from 10 minutes to 8 minutes. So, we should be selecting around 9:15 – 9:30 for our first pick.

If all the teams take all 8 minutes (I doubt it) We should see pick #30 around Midnight. whamp wahhh

  9. steveccnv's avatar steveccnv says:

everything I’ve said up to this point was against taking gambles like this, but it is intriguing, intriguingly stupid

    https://phinphanatic.com/nfl-insider-predicts-miami-dolphins-to-make-massive-gamble-in-latest-mock-draft-01kpvgncngjv

  10. steveccnv's avatar steveccnv says:

we’re not GB south yet, we need to establish a foundation first

Billball is more like what we’ll be this year

  11. bailbondmike's avatar bailbondmike says:

Daniel Jeremiah has an interesting final mock draft starting with Jets taking Bailey at #2. I mentioned yesterday I have a gut feeling that is who the Jets will pick also. Then, with Reese still on the board he has the Saints who need edge/lb trading up with the Cardinals for Reese. Browns taking Fano. Has Love and Tate for both Giants picks. Delane to Chiefs.

Then has Bain falling and taking him for us. Also has Downs falling to us and Cowboys take him next.

Has eagles trading up with Bucs to take Kayden Proctor. Has Edge Lawrence jumping all the way up to 20 to the Cowboys.

Blake Miller, Iheanachor and Iaone all going before 30.

I also mentioned this the other day. Cardinals looking to trade up past the Jets to get Ty Simpson and that the Dolphins at #30 were in play. Well, he has the Cardinals trading up with the Bills instead at #26 to get Ty Simpson.

Lastly of note, he has the Chiefs doubling at DB with Stukes who can play Safety, NB and CB. He’s very versatile.

    • bailbondmike's avatar bailbondmike says:

Oh shit, forgot our last pick.

Jeremiah has us taking OT Lamu at #30. So Bain and Lamu on day 1.

He mentioned Lamu may be good enough to plug and play RT and we could move Jackson inside to OG. I’m not sure about how I feel about that.

  12. steveccnv's avatar steveccnv says:

back to Billy ball (the premise, that getting on base is all that matters)

the football equivalent is getting 1st downs

the Eagles played this to an SB win, by using all 4 downs to get 10, which often used a tush push to get it

so what type of players can we use to accomplish this? A Jordyn Tyson type of WR? Think not. Making Lemon would be a good start, hopefully after a trade back, but there’s other cheaper versions

Vegas or Mauigoa could drastically change our short yardage conversion rate

    • steveccnv's avatar steveccnv says:

draft secondly a DT, that plays the run well

many different ways to strategise a draft, this is just one of many, but it seems to suit our situation the best with no cap space

  13. CavalierKong's avatar CavalierKong says:

    Draft day, wooohooo!

Random advice: Unless you’re at a Crab Feed, never begin a sentence with ‘I like crabs’.

  14. Rockphin's avatar Rockphin says:

Another reason not to take a DT in this draft?

The NFL Draft is supposed to be college football’s ultimate report card. But some coaches around the league are raising serious concerns that the transfer portal era is changing the grade curve in ways that could have long-term consequences for the sport’s pipeline.

The alarm is loudest in the trenches. One veteran NFL defensive line coach told The Athletic‘s Bruce Feldman this year’s interior defensive lineman class is “the worst D-tackle group in 10 years.” That’s a remarkable statement in a sport where the best big men often define championship teams.

    • bailbondmike's avatar bailbondmike says:

Yeah, that was part of the article I posted earlier. I don’t think this pertains to all DT’s in the draft. Some have stayed put and been with their college team most if not all their college career. Like Kayden McDonald was at Ohio State all 3 years.

  15. bailbondmike's avatar bailbondmike says:

Saw a mock draft where Bain fell to us but we traded out with the Bucs. We traded 11 and 227 for 15 and 77. Bucs took Bain.

Then we took OG Iaone at 15 and DT Kayden McDonald at #30. I think I would take that trade if it resulted in those picks and another earlier 3rd.

I think Iaone may go to the Ravens at 14 though unless they go Lemon or McCoy.

    • Rockphin's avatar Rockphin says:

I would take that trade, but I would target some other position than DT at 30. ANY other position except kicker, punter or long snapper.

  16. Rockphin's avatar Rockphin says:

Ok, I lied yesterday. So sue me. I NOW present to you my final mock draft of the 2026 mock season.

    17. Monroe Freeling OT Georgia A-

    34. Zion Young EDGE Missouri B+

    43. Emmanuel McNeil-Warren S Toledo A+

    50. Emmanuel Pregnon OG Oregon A+

    75. Elijah Sarratt WR Indiana A

    87. Derrick Moore EDGE Michigan B

    90. Connor Lew OC Auburn C+

    92. Justin Joly TE NC State B+

    94. Will Lee III CB Texas A&M B

    130. Tacario Davis CB Washington A-

    151. Cole Payton QB North Dakota State C-

    227. Andre Fuller CB Toledo C-

    238. Eric McAlister WR TCU B-

    2027 ARI 2nd

The AI grading the draft liked most of my picks at least…

  17. Rockphin's avatar Rockphin says:

How do you get rid of crabs?

You shave half your pubic hair, light the other half and fire and then stab the crabs with an ice pick when the run out of the fire….

  18. Rockphin's avatar Rockphin says:

I wonder how these mock draft sites structure their grading system. Why do I get an A when I draft a guy sometimes and I get a B for the same guy in the same position on another draft?

  19. Mike E.'s avatar Mike E. says:

If we took Vega Ioane instead of Mauigoa I would not be upset. In some ways I think Ioane might be the better player at OG

  20. Rockphin's avatar Rockphin says:

I saw a mock this morning from Connor Orr where he traded back from #11 to #23 with Philadelphia and picked up Phili’s 2027 1st round pick

He wound up taking KC Conception at 23 and Chris Johnson CB at 30.

I think this would fuck up the rest of our draft because we would miss on the best Oline and Edge but I do like the extra 2027 1st round pick!

  21. Rockphin's avatar Rockphin says:

I keep seeing all these final mocks today that insist that the Dolphins MUST take a WR in the first 3 picks. (round 1 or 2) because of Malik Willis.

I strongly disagree. Willis is getting his $20M, he is NOT the franchise future, screw that. Set up the team for success by building the right way.

  22. Rockphin's avatar Rockphin says:

I would (and have in most of my mocks) target Elijah Sarrett in the 3rd

  23. Rockphin's avatar Rockphin says:

I’d love if the draft fell this way too.

Mansoor Delane would love to play for the Miami Dolphins and specifically Jeff Hafley

Tony Dowe of Round Table Sports spoke with Delane ahead of the draft and asked him about playing for Hafley and the Dolphins. Fans will love his response.

“Hafley, that’s my guy. Recruited me out of high school. Knowing the type of guy, the standard he has, the way he is going to get that program where it needs to be. That’d be a blessing.”
