Last game of the Preseason is upon us, and this game, as it always does, will finalize some roster spots for the 53 man roster cutdown, which will be Sunday, August 30th. The Dolphins recently shipped WR Tutu Atwell, formerly of the LA Rams, back to the Rams, for RB Jarquez Hunter. Atwell was one of the few WR’s on the roster with experience, which then leaves the WR with Jalen Tolbert, 4 YR veteran who played the entire 4 years for the Dallas Cowboys as the senior man. Before you get yer panties in a bunch, yes, technically WR Jalen Reagor is the senior man, but he played sparingly the last 2 seasons, just 19 games with 3 starts, while Tolbert has played 30 games with 23 starts. After Tolbert and Reagor, it’s all rookies with Caleb Douglas, Chris Bell and Kevin Coleman. We should get our first look at WR Chris Bell in this evenings game against the Falcons. He’ll probably get a handful of plays but it will be great to see him in action for the first time.
Yes, Tua the Magnificent makes his return to Hard Rock, but thankfully, not wearing aqua, white and orange. No, this time Tua will look even more awkward wearing the Falcons red, black and white uni. Some will boo (I will even though I won’t be at the game and will be watching it many hours later whenever NFLN replays it), but I’ll take solace in knowing I never have to see him under center for the Miami Dolphins ever again. You can love him or hate him, makes no difference to me because he’s gone. I still feel very strongly that if Tua wanted to do the right thing he would have retired, but he selfishly continues to play and shortchange the team he is playing for by playing to protect himself rather than to win. He’s just not going to compete and put himself in harms way which really isn’t fair for the team that he’s leading. I’m not saying he has to be reckless, but you want the guy leading your team to do what it takes to win and we didn’t say that for the last 2 seasons he was here. OK, enough wasted time on Too-ugh.
It is so hard to get a sense of what to expect from this team. Last preseason game we didn’t see our starting QB, Malik Willis, or even our backup QB, Quinn Ewers. We didn’t see many starters along the O-line either, mostly 2nd and 3rd string guys. If you’re going to evaluate the offense, how do you go about doing so fairly? You simply can’t. On defense we also didn’t get to see a lot of starters, but more than on offense for sure. I’ve read that DL Kenneth Grant may miss game 1 of the regular season with an undisclosed leg injury. We haven’t see Jordan Phillips play much either, and my guess is he won’t see much action tonight because he will likely be the replacement for Kenneth Grant if he can’t go or is limited. That would be a D-line in the 4-3 as LE Chop Robinson, LDT Jordan Phillips, RDT Zach Sieler, and RE Joshua Uche. In preseason, we haven’t seen any pass rush, and that’s disappointing, although as we know, everything is vanilla in preseason, but there is still cause for concern. What you have in preseason is just one on ones and we didn’t win many of those.
On the offensive side, I remember loving that first drive in Preseason Game 1 against Washington. While the Commanders sat their defensive starters, our offense which had our starting 5 on the O-line looked very good, and our drive was a TD drive. Everything was clicking, the O-line provided rushing lanes and protected well. After the first drive when the starters came out, the wheels fell off, but that’s not too surprising. Oddly enough, rookie OG DJ Campbell who played his entire career at Texas at RG has been playing LG. So much with playing guys on the sides that they’re comfortable on! In any case, starting RG Jonah Savaiinaea, who looked quite a lot better in his limited action will continue to play RG, where he played during his collegiate career..
I have seen a lot of disappointment regarding our rookie defensive players on our blog, such as S/LB tweener Kyle Louis. The truth is, these guys were drafted with a plan. Louis will be put in situations where he can help and succeed, he will not be starting at either LB or S. My guess is he will come in some obvious passing situations in coverage or as a blitzer and Hafley will keep teams guessing on what he will be doing. It will probably translate, at least early on, to just a handful of plays, besides playing ST’s as well. Same will go for S Michael Taaffe, if he makes the 53. ILB Jordyn Brooks is a little banged up, but you’d have to think that ILB Tyrel Dodson is a guy we can trade for a either a 2027 pick or a player at a different position of need. Of course if Brooks injury is a lingering one, then we may need Tyrel Dodson next to rookie LB Jacob Rodriguez. Rodriguez also struggled some in Preseason, so this was nowhere near a Zach Thomas/Jack Del Rio type of situation at all for those of hoping for an historical replay of that.
Someone on the blog started the Season Record Prediction post, and I said 7 wins. That’s a best case scenario, QB Malik Willis stays healthy and plays 17 games and we don’t have any major injuries. Both the offense and defense have to play well enough to accomplish that, and I think for a team that will be a very young team, a team with an average under 24 years old, would be quite the accomplishment for both Sully and Haf. This team could be very reliant on the 2025 draft class and as well as the 2026 draft class which netted a total of 21 players, 8 last season and 13 this season. RB Jalen Wright continues to disappoint, I think many of us expected him to be at the very least a competent #2 back behind our best player, RB De’Von Achane, but this hasn’t happened. Not sure how much of this factored into the trade with the Rams to acquire RB Jarquez Hunter, who is a bowling ball at 5’9 211. There’s no guarantee Hunter makes the 53, but it absolutely puts doubt as to whether one of the incumbent RB’s Jalen Wright or Ollie Gordon are in danger of getting cut, or if we’re going to carry 4 RB’s and no FB, despite some here falling in love with FB DJ Herman. We all understood the ramifications of having a salary cap crisis, we won’t be picking up expensive vets, but looking for bargains after the cutdowns occur.
For those of you not in Florida, or even in Florida but not in the area where the Dolphins vs Falcons Preseason Finale will be shown, the game will replayed on NFL Sunday August 30th at 6AM EST. I will probably stay away from the blog during and after the game as to not ruin the viewing experience. I want to watch and form my opinions and watch it as if it were live. I’m excited to see WR Chris Bell play, it’s quite the story! Many of us hoped we could see him play this season but didn’t expect to see him activated until October at the earliest. Again, curb your enthusiasm, because he’s not going to be logging tons of playing time, but he will be playing, and that’s great. He can help the team even in small doses, he’s a very talented receiver, and has the size and speed that we desperately need. I’m hoping WR Caleb Douglas is getting the job done while Bell isn’t, and also hope rookie WR Kevin Coleman is as well. I like Malik Washington, but Coleman could be even better. As always, let’s hope we stay healthy in this final game of the Preseason.

Cubs have hit 17 HR’s over the last 3 games and 9 of those HR’s came last night vs the Brewers. Crow-Armstrong has 5 of the 17 HR’s. He added 2 more leadoff HR’s giving him 9 leadoff HR’s on the season. He has the 2nd most HR’s in MLB with 38.

As a rookie, Cook started four games for the New York Jets last season, losing all four games while throwing for 739 yards, two touchdowns and seven interceptions. One of those starts came against Miami, when he completed 14 of 30 passes for 163 yards and two interceptions.
Espescially as a waiver wire pickup causing them to have to cut someone.

his highlights are good, he’s athletic, his lowlights don’t look horrible. My conclusion is he was on a bad team. Doesn’t mean everyone on the team is bad

Dallas lost just one player on waivers, with the Miami Dolphins adding safety Julius Wood, who had been a star in the preseason.
In Week 1 against the Seattle Seahawks, Wood had five tackles and then added seven against the Arizona Cardinals. He was dealing with a concussion which put his status in jeopardy ahead of Week 3, but suited up and had and six against the New Orleans Saints. That gave him 18 tackles in three games as he proved to have a nose for the football.

Rock, Brewers pitchers gave up 6 of the HR’s. Since they were getting blown out the Brewers didn’t want to dip into their bull pen anymore so they put a fielder on the mound. He gave up 9 hits, 7 runs, 3 BB and 3 more HR’s. It was like batting practice the last 2 innings so those #’s last night are a little skewed.

Herring is a bigger Edge type/4-3 DE. Though, he didn’t play a regular season snap last year and at 28yo (soon to be 29) he has obviously already reached his ceiling. I don’t see where he is an improvement over some of the edges we cut and now he is the backup for Uche???

We also added a nobody LB to the PS. Liam Anderson 6’3, 230, who is 26yo out of Holly Cross. He’s appeared in 4 NFL games for the Colts in 2023 and 2024 playing only 48 ST snaps in those games with 0 tackles. Had no NFL snaps last year and has no regular season snaps on defense in his 3 year career.
I just don’t get it. It’s like he is grabbing guys to put together a 90 man roster. Grabbing guys who have been around the NFL a few years but have done absolutely nothing. You can’t tell me there still aren’t better players out there.
Wouldn’t it have been better to bring Dodson back on the PS instead of letting him go to the Panthers practice squad???

Then why did we sign a nobody LB to the PS then if there was no opportunity? Panthers only would have had to pay Dodson his salary if they picked him up off waivers. Once Dodson cleared waivers, his old contract was voided. They only have to pay him vet PS money and nothing is guaranteed starting week 1. He is only on a weekly paycheck now, no salary.

I think I am most excited about a pick that I was upset they took when they took him. When they took him in the 2nd round I was upset. “WTF!? We don’t need an ILB! We have two very good ones already!” But since then I have become more and more excited about him being a Dolphin.

MIAMI GARDENS ― Miami Dolphins coach Jeff Hafley prefers to arrive at the team facility in the early morning and he’s noticed something about rookie linebacker Jacob Rodriguez.
“He’s extremely mature and he’s very quickly become a pro say that, you know, you get here early and you go down to the weight room and he’s got a routine where he’s stretching at 5:30, 6 o’clock in the morning,” Hafley said of Rodriguez.
Rodriguez will be Miami’s undisputed starting middle linebacker, following the release of veteran Tyrel Dodson. Rodriguez, 23, is perhaps the most serious and locked-in of Miami’s 13-member rookie draft class.
“He’s probably one of the first guys eating a good meal at breakfast, and then he’s meeting extra in the meeting rooms,” Dodson said. “He’s just doing everything that a lot of veterans do. It takes some guys to be a veteran to do. So, I think the maturity level, I think he’s got a great deal of confidence in himself.”
Rodriguez was a second-round pick from Texas Tech. Miami can only hope he continues to make plays that remind fans of former Texas Tech and Dolphins linebacker Zach Thomas.
I don’t want to anoint him yet,” Hafley said. “I think he’s got a lot of work to do, but I am excited about where he’s at right now.”
That said, Hafley does not seem at all concerned that specific praise will have a negative impact on Rodriguez’s mindset. And on the field, Rodriguez has been a ball of fire.
“He’s got a great presence about him on the field,” Hafley said. “It’s not too big for him. He’s really, really physical. He’s a good communicator. He knows where to be. He’s very instinctive. And he’s good in coverage. If you just look back through training camp, he was able to get his hand on the football quite a bit. He took the ball away, whether he was punching it out or whether he was going up and having interceptions.”
The Dolphins need to force turnovers to have a chance to pull some upsets in 2026. And Rodriguez has been a turnover machine in college.
Hafley says the veterans have belief in Rodriguez, already.
“This guy he’s got something to him,” Hafley said.
Dolphins general manager Jon-Eric Sullivan, in addressing why Dodson was let go, said simply: “It’s a very fair question, like why would you move on from T. Dot, but I think it really just highlights how we feel about the young guys on our team.”
With Dodson gone, Rodriguez will be taking the play calls from Hafley this season.
Rodriguez will wear a listening device inside his helmet.
“In the preseason games when Jacob was in, I was the one calling it in,’ Hafley said. “When Jacob is in there now, I will be the one talking to him. Because we have to get that, you know, the communication down. But it’s been that way for most of training camp.”

I live in a neighborhood with many people in their 70’s to 80’s and all single women living by themselves. A couple of them come to me when they have an issue with something because they are afraid of being taken advantage of.
One of them a week ago, I saw her getting out of her car by rolling the window down and opening the door by the outside handle. I asked if she had a problem with her door and she said her inside driver door handle broke. It’s a 2012 Ford Fusion. She said the dealership said it would cost around $270 to fix it and a garage down the road wanted $190 (part included). Said she was waiting until the 1st of the month when she got her SS check. I told her I will fix it. I ordered her a new one on amazon with a metal handle instead of the cheap plastic factory stuff. Part and shipping was $20. The part came in today and took all of 20 minutes to switch it out. I told her not to worry about the $20. That’s just ridiculous with the dealership cost.
Anyway, she just brought me 2 doz. fresh baked homemade oatmeal chocolate chip cookies. I have already eaten 5. lol

The problem with auto dealerships and big shops is they bill on ours not on what it actually took to do. So the mechanic might take 20 minutes to do it, but he will get paid for two hours because that’s what the book says it should be Then the shop turns around and bills for two hours at $80 an hour plus fees, taxes, and markup

Max Llewellyn’s spin-move is SICK! You don’t see that kind of thing everyday, even from some studs. Once he develops more strength and adds more moves to his repertoire, he’s going to be very good, IMO.

The WR we signed to the PS was on the Packers PS last year and in the Packers camp again this year. Apparently he had good chemistry with Willis last year and chemistry with Kyle McCord this year in camp.
Will Sheppard is 6’3, 196. He looks quicker than his 4.54 and 4.59 times he ran at his pro day.

That’s what I think. Nobody is saying Super Bowl. But we’re not void of talent, we’re void of experience. We’re gonna lose some tough close games because of mistakes. But we won’t be only a warm weather team anymore. This is the year to learn from it and know the standard. Next year we could be a playoff team.
Young players on this team will tell the story of whether we’re bad or not. I don’t think we’re going to be bad. But we may lose too many close games as the team develops.

These guys have all flashed in camp and PS. I don’t expect any of them to suck. It will be more about how fast they progress. We’re the youngest team in the league. That’s how you start a new. I believe I saw that GB is the 5th youngest team. That’s the blue print. Keep the competition rotating. Nobody gets to relax and take it for granted.

I feel like it’s impossible for any of us to have any idea what our team will look like, play like, when we basically saw them for one drive on offense and defense in Preseason Game 1. Even then, there have been changes. I’m so interested to see how we play with our starters out there.

MIAMI GARDENS — Jeff Hafley and Jon-Eric Sullivan are saying the right things. They’re putting the best face on what they admit is a difficult situation. When they say they expect the Miami Dolphins to play hard and go out to win every Sunday, you can believe them.
You also can believe what their actions are telling you.
And those actions are saying that when training camp began with low expectations, maybe they weren’t low enough.
The Dolphins tore it all down right after last season. The draft was supposed to signal a change — that it was time to begin building it back up.
Then came this past weekend, the time for roster cuts to 53. And the Dolphins essentially decided they didn’t even have 53 worth keeping.
The Dolphins responded by diving into the waiver wire hard, claiming seven players — more than double anybody else. We don’t know if it’s a record because there’s no reason to track such a thing. The players claimed included a quarterback with a passer rating of 55.4. Combined, the seven played 16 games in 2025 — not even the equivalent of a full season.
Claiming seven isn’t a deadly sin, but remember, these seven also were bypassed by 10 other teams higher in the waiver-wire pecking order than Miami. And yet they offer greater hope than the seven displaced players who’d been here in training camp?
Ideally, training camp concludes with a reason to feel good about new additions. And, to be fair, I believe Sullivan hit on top picks Kadyn Proctor, a guard, and Jacob Rodriguez, a linebacker, both of whom will start. I believe that among the three receivers drafted, there’s talent to work with. Maybe they have a future WR1 in the bunch, maybe not. But it would be surprising if at least two don’t have productive NFL careers.
As for quarterback Malik Willis, anyone complaining about that signing is looking for a reason to bellyache. In the real world, the Dolphins were never going to land a better option given the constraints Sullivan faced. Now the Dolphins get to kick the tires. Willis pans out? Great, the Dolphins can draft a pass rusher, cornerback or maybe WR1 next year. Willis isn’t what they hope? The Round 1 target becomes painfully obvious.
Having said that, it would have been nice if training camp concluded with a clear-cut conviction on who the stars of summer were. Inconsistency prevented that. If you want conviction, there’s this: This secondary is in trouble, which is why three of the seven waiver additions were defensive backs. Combine that with one established pass rusher (Chop Robinson) and it spells trouble. Oh, and the first three home games are against quarterbacks named Patrick Mahomes, Joe Burrow and Derrick Maye. Big trouble.
For Hafley, the immediate future requires him to mash the accelerator. He has 1½ weeks to get this team ready for the opener against the Las Vegas Raiders even though 38 percent of his players either just arrived or are rookies.Zach Sieler proof that occasionally, GMs hit lottery
Certainly, it’s possible Sullivan will find a gem among the cast-offs. GMs sometimes hit the lottery. Hall of Fame center Jim Langer arrived this way, as did guard Bob Kuechenberg, who ought to be in the Hall of Fame. Another example serves as a much-needed stabilizing figure in the locker room today: defensive tackle Zach Sieler, who pointed out the human element of all this upheaval.
Nobody has to remind linebacker Jordyn Brooks, another voice of reason at age 28. He and Tyrel Dodson formed an inside linebacking duo that accounted for 312 tackles last season. In a flash over the weekend, Dodson was waived to clear the way for Rodriguez. Whether the Dolphins considered holding onto Dodson for depth is unclear. The move surprised Brooks.
“It’s a sad part of the guys that make the 53 and then the next day they’re cut,” he said.
“Somebody that’s, off the field, one of my best friends,” Brooks said “Somebody that I’ve got to know very well over the last three years. So just seeing him go, that’s always difficult, and then you understand like the business side of things. It’s hard not to take some things personal in this business, but I’m excited that he already found a new home (Carolina). I spoke to him, he’s in great spirits. The type of person that he is, he’s just going to keep going. So I’m not worried about his mental or spiritual right now. I know he’s going to be all right, but it does suck not having him as a teammate anymore.”
If any of the new guys are walking around in a daze, they ought to look up Sieler.
“I got cut in Baltimore, ‘Good, OK, what’s next?’ And then I got a call from Miami,” Sieler said. “Just take it and run with it. So I’ve tried to embrace that in everything in my life and my game. And I tell these young guys the same thing, like, ‘Hey, look, good. OK, what’s next?’ “
Embrace change. Not a bad idea if you’re a Dolphins player.

USA Today has already projected they’ll finish 1-16.
Most 2027 NFL mock drafts already have the Dolphins making a Top 2 pick.
“I don’t think there’s one outlet on social media, anybody that’s got us picked to win anything,” Dolphins linebacker Jordyn Brooks said. “Not that it matters, but that’s just what it is. I don’t think any of our opponents respect us, so 100%, underdog mindset. And I think that’s always the best position to be in.”
There are many, many concerns.
But I am here today to deliver 10 reasons for optimism.
It’s my gift to you, a small bundle of joy and happy thoughts. (And don’t ever, ever forget how fortunate we are to live and work in the great paradise that is South Florida. I digress…)10 reasons for optimism for Miami Dolphins fans
1. Malik Willis. Malik Willis is an exciting quarterback. He has two things Tua Tagovailoa does not have. He is a dynamic runner. And he has a very strong arm. Considering Willis’ reasonable contract, it already seems clear this was a worthwhile Jon-Eric Sullivan dice roll.
2. De’Von Achane. Somehow, De’Von Achane is still underrated nationally. He is one of the fastest players in the NFL and he is one of the most thrilling players in the NFL. Simply having the athleticism of the duo of Willis and Achane is reason enough to tune in.
3. Jon-Eric Sullivan. The Dolphins general manager has intentionally constructed the youngest roster in the NFL. Will they take their lumps at times? Yes. But at least you’re not watching overpaid mercenaries. These are, in many cases, hungry players worth cheering for. (Even if you have to learn their jersey numbers along the way.)
4. Jeff Hafley. First-year NFL head coach? Yes. But he does have three years as a major college head coach. That is beneficial. Hafley is comfortable in dealings with players and media. He’s going to demand toughness and effort and accountability without being a jerk. It is, potentially, a nice combination.
5. Jordyn Brooks and Aaron Brewer. Brooks and Brewer are among the best in the NFL at their positions, middle linebacker and center. Brooks and Brewer are pleasant fellows off the field but they are deadly serious about their craft and are outstanding leaders. Miami will look to add more players with their mindsets.
6. Chris Bell. The Dolphins rookie has to get back into tip-top playing condition. But he’s ahead of schedule in his return from a knee injury. And he would probably have been an early second-round pick if not hurt in college. This is a special player because of his combination of speed and power. A physical and tough receiver in aqua and orange? Bring it on.
7. Jacob Rodriguez. Everything you want to root for. Effort. Effort. Effort. Sideline-to-sideline. Instincts. Smarts. Commitment. Miami didn’t wait to move on from Tyrel Dodson. They want Rodriguez chasing running backs, forcing fumbles and dropping back to into coverage to pick off quarterbacks. It would be a big surprise if Rodriguez is not a fan favorite in no time.
8. Kadyn Proctor and Chris Johnson. Miami’s offensive line and pass coverage will be considered concerns, until they’re not. But it would be shocking if Proctor does not play well at left guard in 2026 and likely make a shift to tackle in 2027. And Johnson, another first rounder, has already shown he’s got ball skills, instincts, toughness and confidence. He’s a keeper.
9. Salary cap space (2027). The Dolphins are slated to have $106,991,735 in cap space in 2027, according to Spotrac. This is third in the NFL. They will not be spending it all in one place. Sullivan will likely follow the Packers’ Way, which means picking free agents selectively, and avoiding dramatic overpays. But he can target a few key free agents coming off their rookie contracts. Those players could be in the 26-28 age range. And he can continue to strategize about how and when to use the money to extend some of his own top players.
10. Draft picks. The Dolphins do not have a treasure trove of picks in 2027 and 2028. But they do have their own picks and seem more likely to add picks than the alternative in the future. They also have a 13-member rookie class. Miami has an extra fifth-round pick in 2027. Sullivan will bring the Packers’ scouting approach, which should be a net-plus. Over the last 20 years, Green Bay has a draft hit rate of 25 percent and +0.7 draft pick average value vs. expected, according to perthirtysix.com research. In that span, Miami had a hit rate of 25 percent but a -1.9 average value vs. expected. The Packers have also had the NFL’s No.1-ranked aggregate offensive line draft picks in the last 20 years, according to the web site.

I think CB Reese Taylor is coming off a concussion, not 100% on that. If so, he should be ready for game 1.
I’m excited about this season. Maybe they won’t win much. Maybe they will surprise. Won’t know until they play. What I do know is that Miami has been bad to mediocre for 25 years. Soft. Poorly managed and coached. QB-less.
Now we have a chance of a QB (one way or another), a complete tear down, the only way to truly change the culture. I would rather watch young, hungry players play hard as a team and lose, than watch overpaid, me-first vets play half assed and occasionally win.

So, I see it play out like this. 2026 is a year of building and development. 2027 is a year where we have to show we’re capable of winning games…maybe push for a playoff spot, if lucky. 2028 I’d like to see a team that looks like a solid playoff team. 2029 I want to see a team capable of making a deep playoff run and at least push for a SB.
Is that too hopeful…not hopeful enough? Curmudgeonly or Tim-like? 🙂

the PS was so bad, can’t remember any team looking that bad the last 15 years (PS1 1st qtr and PS3 2nd half were good), that I predicted 3-14. Then Sully went to work. The 9 players we picked up since PS3 have me changing closer to Tim-like. I can actually see us still in the hunt with 3 games left, if a few things go our way
we need to get off the field on 3rd down D more often than not and our rookie receivers need to grow up fast, if that happens we can be average this season
Ima “undefeated until they lose a game” guy. Plus, with the turnover in FA that teams have now, it more like college football. You have to have coaches that teach and lead. If nothing else, FA weeds out bad coaches.

Possibly the strongest arm (distance) the NFL has ever seen, he can scramble/run, 6’5″ and 236 pounds, killed it in the preseason this year, born and raised in Florida, and he’s only 26 years old.
He has his warts, but he’s grown quite a bit since he was drafted. He seems to have learned the art of touch on a throw, timing, and reading Defenses much better.

Like I stated, he killed it in the preseason. He saw time as Dak was logically kept in for only a drive or two.
Most pundits have praised what they saw out of Milton this preseason, so it’s not just me. That’s why it’s such a shocker that the Cowboys cut him.

Joe Milton is more like a quicker-twitched Daunte Culpepper (slimmer than Daunte) with steroids in his passing arm. Milton won’t eat himself out of the league, and you can tell.

I’d think we want Chop or Uche on the field at all times. On 3rd down we should see both as often as possible, sometimes an O won’t let you change
1st downs in usual situations we likely won’t see both, if our opponent abandons the run, that could change things
opposite Chop/Uche I expect Biggers first, Clelin if activated (think he’s hurt, so once healthy), Beal probably gets some reps too and Grant/Sieler, if we have issues against the run
as long as Chop/Uche can keep constant pressure our passrush should be ok, then we have a slew of good blitzers with Brooks, Rodriguez, Louis and Gaye, plus some from the secondary
Our passrus might have to be by committee.This will be a Chop centric passrush, he’ll be given every chance to get 10 sacks
when Moore comes back he can rush too and will play some DE

I am actually not very happy with where Grant is right now. I don’t care if he’s injured. Not cool. Phillips is gonna be a solid IDL….which several have said from day one, but his strength is definitely in a box not rushing the passer. Cool…create things for others and stop the run. Biggers showed some footwork last year. His quickness and agility surprised me. I’m curious to see how he looks this year. Sieler is Sieler…no issues….for now. Backups…I’ll wait and see.
On the edge I think it’s gonna be a long road. I think 10 is the high end for Chop. If he gets it, good. He’s also gotta continue to hold up against the run. He got better at it last year but still room to get better. I’ve never been as high on him as some. Good player….not real impactful. I talked about liking what Uche brings, but he’s an aging vet trying to prove something….thats why I think he might perform. I liked what I saw from Rodriguez rushing the passer in college, but I gotta see him do it in the NFL. Other than that…it’s all fill in where you go in.
I just didn’t see enough of guys like Moore and others to really know much. But I’d guess you’re right….pass rush by committee….which works just fine if you can do it. I’d still like that guy who I can rely on to get a big sack though. Changes games.

our rookies are different, than most regular ones in that they’re given more opportunity. Don’t underestimate playing with 1st teasers. They’ll be thrust into action with little pressure
speaking of pressure, in years past we’ve done very well after being eliminated, maybe with no expectations comes no pressure and guys can just relax and play
in season 1 of VGK hockey they had a bunch of misfits, their leading scorer Karlesson had over 40 goals, easily his career high. Why hasn’t he been able to duplicate that success? Opportunity isn’t there, not on the ice as much, not on the power play enough. This what I’m talking about with iur rookies, they’ll be given the opportunity making it easier, than normal rookies, that have to work their way into PT

Yeah, aging may have been the wrong word, but he’s going into his 8th season. I just mentioned it’s not like we’re looking at him as a guy who’s gonna be contributing in 3 years, most likely. Ya never know.
I’m still pumped to watch this team. I’m not concerned about winning as long as we’re a tougher team and I see progress. I just want this team to be a tough out. I want to see a bunch of our young players look they are legit NFL stars in the making, or even just legit NFL players for some. I hated watching our team the last couple of years and I doubt that will be the case this year. Looking forward to it!
Sounds like Joe Milton has a little too much space between his ears. He can play, he just doesn’t process much and doesn’t really care to learn or develop mentally.
Good QBs don’t get waived and put on the PS. That’s a red flag.

our depth was so bad, we upgraded the roster significantly thru waivers. Really not much else you can do with mo cap. Almost feels like the bottom feeder owners in baseball getting money from Yankees
I think roster depth matters, but all you really want is about 10-15 backups you can count on to perform. That puts you at about 32-37 players. The other 16-21 players are really STs and fodder and couple probably be changed out for every other team’s bottom third of the roster.
I don’t know much about the guys we brought in. Are they guys who are in that 10-15 or the 16-21? It’s the 10-15 I’m worried about because they’re the ones who will play.
if you’re active on game day you’re playing, STs, if no or few scrimmage snaps. Backup QB is really the only one not playing. Our STs wasn’t bad in PS, unless you count Pinion Plaza’s shank a game punting
