Go Balls Deep Dolphins!

wallacedrop

Remember watching the deep ball disaster the last couple of years?

Miami had a big wide receiver makeover this offseason parting ways with Mike Wallace, Brian Hartline and Brandon Gibson and bringing in Greg Jennings, Kenny Stills and DeVante Parker.  Jarvis Landry is the sole holdover that is a lock to make this team.

Now what?

Can the Dolphins go deep?

Do they even need to?

All of these receivers are great YAC guys but what about deep threats?

Greg Jennings has had a ton of touchdowns in his career.  Now would be a good time to mention that Aaron Rogers was the Quarterback for most of those touchdowns.  So there is that…

Parker’s catch radius is notable.  At Louisville he was used as a deep threat often, but whether that translates to the NFL is still a mystery.

Kenny Stills is a legitimate deep threat.  But so was Mike Wallace and…um…

Dolphins Radio Announcer, Jimmy Cefalo seems to think we are going to work in the deep ball more effectively in 2015.  You can listen to him here:

So bombs away in 2015?

I see Christian bumper stickers all the time and how I need to be saved.

hey lets hope there is a god. cause if there is then that means there has to be a hell and i can think of quite a few people who need to end up there

    • Tim Knight says:

You would hope so but I personally don’t think that’s the case.

    • Rockphin says:

You should be careful what you wish for ….all depends on who is pointing whom where…. I’m pretty sure a bunch of people would be pointing me south

  4. getterdone says:

    Tim,
we all need to be ‘saved’ from ourselves…man is his own worse enemy you know.

    • Tim Knight says:

Or just live and try to enjoy this privileged experience of life as a human especially in America compared to many other nations, and when it’s over it’s over. It could absolutely be as simple as that and we’ll all find out.

  5. finfanrob says:

    rock,

i wasnt referring to anyone i personally know i was thinking more like that scumbag who killed those people in the church. well that and all jets fans…..sorry mike e

    • getterdone says:

I really applaud the surviving family members of that church & community that stood for peace and prayed for the killer…WOW! I don’t know if I could ever do that & pray I’m never faced with that situation.
Those people are incredible & know a higher power is ultimately in control.
Why doesn’t the media make that a headline story every night? Instead they push agendas of hate, violence, & division they’re told to push, instead of unity!…smh

    Tim,
we all need to be ‘saved’ from ourselves…man is his own worse enemy you know.

well no. i am fine by myself, however i think we all need to be saved from others. dont think those people and church needed to be saved from themselves but rather others

Guess I missed where this turned religious.

Anyways if this keeps progressing as it is from flag coming down to pulling flag from merchandise to taking down Confederate statues I afraid to go to skeep. I may wake up tomorrow and find out being southern is offensive to the rest of the country and I have been discontinued as an American. Shame, just as the dolphins were getting exciting again, now I gotta learn to love that other fuckibg futbol sport all the other non Americans watch

    • getterdone says:

everything is turning upside down….heck, veterans are now looked at as domestic terrorists if they love God, guns, country, and are conservative….lol
There has been a major shift in society slowly over decades. Crazy.

  8. getterdone says:

    Tim,
Great point above….Yeppers, we’ll all find out!
That means deep in your subconscious you know there is something on the other side to find out. Choose wisely my friend. I know I’m trying to.

  9. Tim Knight says:

Rock, I remember that story you told about ordering a sandwich at a Pulix and some older racist asshole white guy didn’t want his sandwich made by a black person. That has stuck with me because when we visit my in-laws in Florida, I have gone to Publix and ordered sandwiches.

That’s the shit I’m talking about. It’s still very much alive and not just in the south. But we know the history don’t we?

    • getterdone says:

Racists exist in all colors & cultures as you know. Always the result of poor parenting, broken family units, & Godless families….IMO

      • Tim Knight says:

That’s unfair though. Godless families? Most black citizens are religious/Christians at least in this country and still engage in major violence, mainly amongst themselves. Notice how I adjusted to another issue in this country and a guy like Jim Brown feels the same way and has been trying to influence the black community (the part of it that needs it, not all) towards another path in life. It’s simply a basic moral issue.

You and I can both go out into the day and know not to violate someone else, you being Christian with a strong faith in God, and a guy like me who’s not sold on the idea so I just follow basic moral principles. It’s not one way or the other.

  10. naplesfan2010 says:

Why are loving guns and loving God and country linked up? They seem to be opposites to me. And being conservative is just a perspective on what systems are best to manage our national government and economy. Being conservative is not heroic or morally superior; it’s just one way to look at things. Conservatives are not more patriotic than other people; they just think they are.

    • getterdone says:

You were fine until your last 5 words of judgement and pointing the finger the other way.

      • naplesfan2010 says:

Sorry Getter. I just get tired of some people acting like they are the only ones who love Jesus and America. I love Jesus and America and I would die to protect our freedoms. But flying the flag of another country than ours on our government buildings seems like a direct threat to America, even if that country only lived for four years 150 years ago.

btw I am also a Free Will Methodist as you mention above. God cranked up this great paradise and has left us to make choices each day. What we choose to do determines the life about how we get to live.

  11. getterdone says:

Tom Brady’s appeal hearing concluded after 10 hours on Tuesday, and there are “no further hearings are scheduled.”
Commissioner Roger Goodell has apparently heard all he needs to hear. Now the waiting game begins. The league isn’t exactly known for its expedient decisions, so things could drag out until near the start of training camp. Brady’s strategy at Tuesday’s meeting is unknown. NFL Network reported that Brady’s four-game ban would stand if he didn’t change his tune from the Ted Wells report.

that is just stupid, i mean come on, if i am getting a fried chicken tender sub i want a black person making it.

    • getterdone says:

Mmmm, yeah man. I love Publix chix tenders.

I go to this local farmers market once a week and patronize (makes me a patriot) this black owner of Jones BBQ, He brings his smoker out there and man oh man, he serves up the best brisket, pulled pork, & ribs at a super low price. I like talking to him, he’s very down to earth.

    • Tim Knight says:

      LMAO!!!!

I agree. I also like Mexican’s making my Mexican food, Chinese making my Chinese food and every other ethnic group making their ethnic dish. LOL

Guys I only have one question regarding this flag conversation do I have to get rid of my general Lee replica? Or can I continue to drive around town in my early model orange muscle car with the flag painted on top?

    ****
You have to switch the flag

Maples, good reply above. No need to say sorry. You’re ok brother. We all get angered by the zealous extremists from any group or walk of life. I do the same frequently.
Hey, a free methodist…so cool. The ministry that I belong to has roots from the free methodists here in Fla. We’re now basically non-denominational, which the free methodists are, religion sucks type of thing, and just go by bible christianity, & try to follow Christ’s teachings.
Awesome…pleasure to know ya, even if we don’t see exactly eye to eye on every issue.
Again, thanks for the reply brother!

  16. Ken says:

Just catching up after a bitch of day. Naples you were on fire today and I agree so much with what you said. In other news Tom Brady is clearly to trying to set up a lawsuit vs. the NFL. He expects to lose and that is why he wants everything under oath so this way he has a sworn and written record for later use in a lawsuit.

    • Tim Knight says:

We basically agreed on everything, but what was I, a struggling flame? LOL

      • Ken says:

kind of like firewood that was not properly covered out doors and you trying to start a fire. It’s get a little smoky first and then maybe it catches. LOL.

  17. getterdone says:

Bravos had a nice sweep of the Mets @ home over the weekend, but now have a tough 6 game road trip against the Natty’s & then the Bucs….ugh. Hope we can stay @ or above .500.

  18. Tim Knight says:

GD, I agree about the church showing mercy and forgiveness. I’d be so angry and that’s not the way to be. I’m sad and angry it happened, but I don’t really know or have that deep connection to it for it to overwhelm my life other than being very sad it happened as a fellow citizen. I know others are really hurting though and that really sucks.

    • getterdone says:

It does suck….the only silver lining is if it causes people to wake up, become aware, to think about their own short lives, their own mortality.
You can’t change yesterday & tomorrow isn’t a guarantee. Today is a gift!
Make the best of each day that you are in. Help change someone else’s life in a positive loving manner.

  21. Tim Knight says:

It’s cool to have these discussions without going overboard. It actually is possible.

Go on Facebook and it’s a cluster fuck. No thanks!

FFR, I stay away from Randy, he’s got this bucket and he does weird things to it. LOL

    • Ken says:

There is nothing wrong with FB imo. It’s not really any different than some of the discussions we have here. Just as with any site and discussions you have to know when to engage and when not to. Those become crossed and they have here at times as with many other sites. Any web site or post can only get to you as much as you let it get to you.

Bart Scott recently said, when he played for the Ravens a couple of teams used to steal signs so they wore wrist bands (I don’t know what the wrist bands do). I went back to look for games against the cheats, but couldn’t tell if they wore the wrist bands.

Then I found this link, it’s a Ravens Fan’s story of their game with the cheats in 2007, he finishes with 7 reasons when the officials cheated for the cheats in the game.

It’s hard to believe they can still get the BS calls after all these yrs and the coaches from the other teams don’t do enough about it. All teams send in to the league bad calls and calls they want an explanation for, so why does this still go on?

  28. getterdone says:

Oh brother!!! We know where this is leading to….SMH

ESPN’s Adam Schefter reports Tom Brady was his own “greatest ally” in Tuesday’s appeal hearing and gave an “A+ performance.”
Per Schefter, Brady “offered explanations in all areas.” Brady was present for the entirety of the marathon 10-11 hour session, and appears to have spent a good deal of time on the hot seat. It’s unknown when commissioner Roger Goodell will reach a decision. It’s extremely unlikely to come before the end of June.

    • steveccnv says:

That’s BS, Sketchy has always has his head up brady’s ass. Other reports don’t mention anything about him putting on the greatest show on earth.

I don’t care if they do reduce the suspension to 0 games, as long as this gone on for a long time, and takes his mind off of the game and puts him through the ringer.

What I’d really like to see, is mr. holier than though do jail time for lying under oath. It can’t be any more obvious that he’s guilty and of way more than charged.
