This past Sunday was the most enjoyable “Dolphins” Sunday in so long, I can’t even remember the last one that matched it. I felt like we had a chance to finally beat the Houston Texans, who we were previously 0-7 against. I felt the team had a renewed attitude, and that this might put them over the top. I picked the score of MIA 24 – HOU 6. Who would’ve thought they far exceeded that, and just in the first half!
For the Texans game, a bunch of people from our blog met up for the annual “Fest”, which has become a yearly tradition. I think it’s great, I’ve been to two, but every year I truly miss it when I can’t make it. Jon “Stanger”, is a huge reason for this. The first time I made my way to FLA with my family, Jon, Walker, Gigi, Son, Randy (OD), David, Cap’t Stubbs and Rob (FFR). As has now become the tradition, the whole crew goes out to Dave and Busters for dinner, and Jon always is very kind to provide for whoever chooses to make it there. Honestly, you couldn’t ask for a nicer, better “host”. John (Son), has mentioned it, and so have some others, but Jon (Stanger), really goes out of his way for all those visiting either from far away in-state, or from even farther away out of state. Anyone who has attended knows this, and major props go out to Jon for doing that. The next time I went I got to meet a few other blog favorites, such as Bat, Diggs, Jahn, and also Ken and Jordi (Piggy), whom I’d already met a few times, but you get the point. If you can somehow make it to one, I highly recommend it, and I personally guarantee my attendance next year. Look forward to enjoying another weekend with some great folks, and meeting some people I haven’t yet met!
What a game our friends got to see! I just kept imagining what was going on with our friends who made it there this year, how crazy they must have been going, to witness total domination from our team, the Miami Dolphins. They played the best half of football I’ve ever witnessed by them, hands down. Ryan Tannehill was nearly perfect. The defense was ferocious and relentless. Jarvis Landry played like an All Pro WR/KR/PR FOOTBALL PLAYER. Landry is easily my favorite Miami Dolphin, he plays harder than any player IMO. Lamar Miller was fantastic, both rushing and receiving. Rishard Matthews continues to add to his resume, showing what many of us thought he could be, and making it happen. Reshad Jones continues his All Pro campaign, making tackles all over the field, and adding another pick-6. Suh gave us 6 tackles and 2 sacks. Cam Wake, healthy and rabid, gave us 2 sacks. Everyone just looked better. Thank you Dan Campbell, for stirring this team, and waking them up from their slumber. Forget the 2nd half, it was obviously Campbell not only taking his foot off the pedal, but putting it in PARK, and allowing our guys to rest, knowing we have a big game on Thursday night against the Patriots.
Speaking of Thursday night, this is a huge game against a division rival. Last weeks huge win served only to keep the season afloat, and energize the fan base. We need another massive effort from our team, in order to knock off the favored New England Patriots, in their house, Gillette Stadium in Foxboro. The 6-0 Patriots will likely be allowed to hold Wake, and now likely Suh too, so we’ll need some of the other guys to step up. The Patriots have scored the most points in the AFC, with 213, and are 2nd in the nFL to the Arizona Cardinals, who score a lot of points with their defense. This is a daunting task, and at 3-3, and 0-2 in the division, almost a sure necessity, if we plan on contending this season. Brice McCain, who will be the starter if healthy, is questionable to start opposite Brent Grimes right now. If McCain can’t go, Jamar Taylor will start. That would leave young Bobby McCain as the nickel corner. This is big. The Patriots employ those super-quick, pesky WR’s like Julian Edelman, who BTW made Wes Welker expendable. Danny Amendola, finally healthy, is having a good season. Of course, Tom Brady’s favorite target is big #87, Rob Gronkowski.
I won’t be shocked if we if we see a big dose of RB LeGarrette Blount, and also a good amount of RB Dion Lewis out of the backfield, who will be a game-time decision for the Patriots with an abdominal injury. We need to tackle, and that means Blount, Lewis, but more importantly, Edelman, Amendola, and Gronkowski. The greater majority of passes that Edelman and Amendola catch are only about 5-10 yards past the LOS, so we need to be right on those guys as soon as they catch it, and hopefully, not let them catch it.
Big task for new Head Coach Dan Campbell, to go up against Bill Belichick. All the odds are against us, but I think we may just see a big upset. I don’t expect us to do to the Patriots what we did to the Titans and especially the Texans, but I think we do enough to win this week, with a last minute FG to win 30-28. GO DOLPHINS!!!
And now for the babe of the week . . .
“Life’s the same, I’m moving in STEREO, life’s the same, except for my shoes”

So our defense has given up 7 points and the offense 5 points.
Yeah this playcalling went back to pre campbell
It’s scared shitless play calling
Really bad half by the whole offense. The is what we saw last year. Too many lengthy periods of poor offensive execution.
Because we got away from what worked. No attitude on offense
Get some quick strike passes
tell you what this SEC tourny is going to be good. the gator girls are gook and miz isnt bad either.
(and i post this with my bp about 120 over 83)
Well since the awful field position twice, weve only given up 5 points
MORAL VICTORY 🙂
Just missed a big play
What
wow… could we literally stumble worse on offense
all our guys are so nervous
They’re scared. The offense is playing so scared. Pussies
Miller needs to check his laces
And I think it sucks that they’ve basically taken the kickoff play out of the game.
who says blogging during the game sucks. i can follow the game with everyones comments
Lol Im to that point.
Come on, is our offense sucking on purpose.
Tanny and miller are shitting their pants. This offense has the personality of their former coach
so do you slap tannehill in the face in the locker room? What does he respond to? WAKE UP dammit.
WHOLE OFFENSE…SHAKE OUT OF IT GUYS!!!!!
I don’t know what the hell is going on with them. Thank god the defense came to play
They’re scared of the pats IMO. The offense is playing scared

come on, i am not on the rambo band wagon but really? it isnt like they could change the type of offense they are in midseason
Under thrown.

lol, there is a wicked good soccer game on between a & m and miz girls.
Thanks, turning after halftime. I’ve seen this team before and I dont want to see anymore of it.
Turning now.
Boulder,
I think the level of competition has something to do with it too. This isn’t Texas or Houston. We took a step up in talent level, and we haven’t been able to meet it.
Im just not sure about Tanny. He has amazing games sometimes but he is inconsistent as hell. He really is just like Matt Stafford and how successful has that guy been? Wilts like a tulip in the middle of the Arizona desert.
Darr is not the man
bad punt gives them another score
Really need a big turnover here
50 was holding
This is why I thought it would be a blowout.
We are on D
That was supposed to be atext
How many calls is this chick gonna make against the phins?
How many offsides penalties have we had in the last 3 games?
nice back shoulder throw
Wow
This is the same old dolphins. Turning in my viewing privileges. I’m tired of watching shit.

tammy promised her a night with gisele if she called it right
oh they called it against NE??????????
Ken,
It’s about matching their scoring. Our defense has payed pretty well so far, but it’s always been about keeping up with their offense.
Game over. Good night
Terrible
bellicheck makes a superb play call
It would have been nice if someone would have covered him.
At least it’s close?
I guess the offense shouldn’t have sleep walked in the second half against Houston because they still haven’t woken up yet tonight.
I do hope Campbell takes good notes. Because Bellicheck is putting on a clinic here.
so can now we forget about ‘rambo’ and playing against bottom dwellers and go back to talking about he draft and who the next coach should be.
I have to stop watching again
Alright. Time for bed.
Come on now….we got a whole half of football left, fellas.
That’s true Randy. I’m sure we are suddenly going to be able to stop Brady, and the offense is going to actually get a first down in the second half. Please. We are done.
That’s game, set, match people. Anyone who thinks we have a snowball’s chance in hell of coming back hasn’t watched a Dolphins game all year.

Game over. Good night
you could have said that 7 weeks ago. the nfl is not going to let the cheats lose this year. they wont, and then all we will here how this is really the only undefeated team. when the fins did it it was really competitive football

all year? how about all decade
I stand corrected.
What are we doing on offense? Geez!
Put parker and Grimes in and go for it
Well that was pointless
i will say though, i am glad you guys had a few weeks of enjoyment. i am sorry for anyone who thought things were different, but glad you had some fun
Brian,
Sorry, bud, it’s just me. I just can’t say we’re done half way thru a game. I get the frustration though. This sucks…and in the spotlight too.
I respect your optimism.
Well, that kick summed up the first half.
At least the fest people had fun?
KEN… why the hell are you NOT in an airport. It’s your fault
LOL

lol, and randy still thinks kate upton is going to return his call.
So, We will be 3-4 after this game, and 0-3 in the division. There is virtually no chance we will make the playoffs this year, again. The Patriots gave us every chance to get back in this game and we just couldn’t do it. I don’t know what this team needs, but someone better figure it the fuck out in the offseason.
Growing pains
I really don’t get it. The Pats find playmakers and lineman out of nowhere and we feel the need to draft and sign specific positions every year and they still roll on.
Don’t blame the refs, the Pats were called plenty of times. It’s like a nightmare that never ends, LOL

Reverting back to our old ways.
Well the officiating has been better than usual
The defense is getting to Brady
But that was an ugly bad snap and an ugly interception
Those were the big letdowns IMO
Hey- Tanne is a god!
Offense was horrible in the first half

nope that is total bs. no team in the league does that. and no team in the history of the league has the turn over they do and it was successful. i dont care if this game is called fair. there is no way in the history of the league all of a sudden they do without foul play involved
Seriously FFR…..give up the conspiracy shit…have you ever considered that the Patriots are actually better?
I actually think we are still in this game. We have been in the lead here before and then got dominated…maybe we turn it around in the second half here.
I find it funny that as soon as we experience issues with the new coach….”it is the same old thing”…like he can never lose again…LOL. They are in this game. Lets see how he adjusts at half.

ffr,
It was a text. She likes it when I send her pics of my bucket.
so now you know your mistake, she does return phone calls
Tim,
You are exactly right. The Patriots are just better than us, plain and simple. We likely won’t win the division again until Brady retires, or suffers another season ending injury. They have much better coaching, and we simply can’t match up to them.
And it is not an NFL conspiracy…give them credit….agree with you
so THIS is what a Brady football feels like… deflated 😦
Brian,
It’s not optimism. I wouldn’t bet a dollar we’ll actually win this game at this point. It’s more my stubborn, curmudgeonly side that refuses to admit defeat until I have to. Lol
Lol! Whatever works! We would need to score on the first possession, and somehow get a big play on defense or special teams to win this game. When did Brady every lose a 19 point lead? I’m guessing never.
Agreed cowher- come out and establish the run
bookman,
not me. he is a te’s coach just taking over from a very very bad coach. i am not blaming any of this on him. he is just out of his element. this is just a bad football team. i admit i am tired of all the rambo bs. glad others had fun with it but i never bought into all of a sudden he is some magical coach. this is just a very poor team.
Well I disagree 100 percent.

when you are caught cheating over and over no i wont. and ok i will stop the conspiracy shit, but they have been caught cheating over and over. so no i wont think they are better, just better cheaters.
but get back to me when they are 16-0
How have they cheated tonight?…and don’t give me some sarcastic comment.
out coached on x’s and o’s and our skills player on offense are playing nervous … maybe put parker and #85 in instead of Landry … maybe make him mad …don’t let tannehill throw a pass that is not downfield and wide open
“From Dusk til Dawn” is on BBC Ameica. Selma Hayek dancing in a bikini.

with what, that he is out of his element or they are a bad football team? and ok it is my anger speaking calling them a bad football team, there is some talent there. but he is out of his element. and i dont mean that bad, he is just put in a bad situation
By the way, Jim Nance couldn’t be more jazzed to the see the Pats do well. It’s obvious in his voice. SMH

i cant say so, i watched a play or two and i agree i thought bad calls but just a dolphin fan. but that still doesnt negate the fact they have before
Still-birth play 😦
Fuck Stills
OL looking MUCH better so far.
Ok good Stills
Nice throw
3 mins into 2nd half and we are on the 2 yard line!!!!!
Good job
those are the throws i was calling for
Yeah BAby!!!!!!!
Td
Yes!!!!!!
Miller time
I know we’re down 19, but we can’t completely abandon the run. Eventually they’ll start getting to Tannehill if we start passing every down.
We absolutely right. Have to do more under center stuff, too
