Manitoba’s Excellent Adventure

I was going to try to post all the pics here but there are about 100 of them.  A bit much to load them all on the blog.  So next best thing, I’m putting them all in photobucket with the link here.

I’ve also stolen one to use as a header.  Looks kind of cool doesn’t it?  I know OD will like it!

Thanks for all the pics Manitoba!

Here’s a recipe for pulled pork I am making for family tomorrow. I add a can of beer during the marinating period and I use 1/2 suggested white vinegar and add 1/2 apple cider vinegar
    instead of full white vinegar.
My in laws from charlotte say I nailed it.

I think the Giant was still sleeping last week. In fact, the Giant may have been in a coma.

i think the giant is like any fairy tale. all make believe.

  10. finfanrob says:

but you just have to love football this time of year. with the auto makers telling us to not worry about shopping on black friday but to just buy autos as christmas presents.

when i am in charge, in addition to topless cheerleaders it is the death penalty for anyone that buys a christmas present

  11. Mike E. says:

    Rob

At least that’s not an “official” Dolphins slogan, like “Feed the Wolf”. The Wolf was always the other team. lol

Good job Herd …. I thought the background looked familiar

Thanx guys i enjoy taking pics and sharing them.

  13. manitobafinfan says:

I found it quite interesting that the Patriots actually celebrate and have the Snowplow in their hall off fame museum At the stadium …Celebrating Decades of Cheating. Smh.

  14. finfanrob says:

‘Thanx guys i enjoy taking pics and sharing them.’

hey, how about that. i have something in common with toba

  15. manitobafinfan says:

As for the patriot game itself, never had a sense the game was gonna get out of hand until midway third 1/4 .. We did not do much positive on O and were not down much at the half. Scoring on openning drive was crucial and made me think alright here we go… Then Pats answered.. Miller was tripped up by his shoelace with no one else on his side of field , would have been an easy td, that was the beginning if the end .. Next play Tanny had an 8 yard wide hole to his left to sneak through and we handed to Miller instead and he tripped on his own feet. That when all the wheels fell off.. Ironically at that point i was no longer dodging peanuts from above either..

“The word is fight, fight, fight for Iowa
    Let every loyal Iowan sing
The word is fight, fight, fight for Iowa
Until the walls and rafters ring. (Go Hawks!)

Come on and cheer, cheer, cheer for Iowa
We’re gonna cheer until we hear the final gun
The word is fight, fight, fight for Iowa
    Until the game is won.

    “On Iowa”

On Iowa proudly at the fore
    On Iowa on for evermore
    Ev’ry loyal son will give
    A Rousing toast to you
Ev’ry loyal daughter loves you true
On Iowa with your wealth untold
A heritage to us you did unfold
Love of family, love of friend
    Love of country too
Makes us proud for what you stand
    Our Dear Old Gold.

    Iowa! Iowa!
    Iowa! Iowa!
    I-O-W-A!

    Fight, Iowa, never, never yield
Fight, Iowa, fight right down the field
Get in the game and watch the ball
    Be a fighting Man
Hit ‘er hard, give Iowa all you can.
Fight, Iowa, you’ll be sure to hold
We’re with you with the pep
    And love of old.
Fight for family, Fight for friend
    Fight for country too
But fight hard today and win
    For Dear old Gold.”

  17. finfanrob says:

wow, i just dont get the officiating this year. something is going on.

in this gator game they over turn a td call when the replays are very inconclusive. then they up hold a fumble call when the replays are fairly conclusive that it wasnt a fumble. just so inconsistent it is ruining the game.

    • steveccnv says:

It’s all sports these days. Last night in the lakers vs Brooklyn game, they did everything they could to keep Brooklyn in the game at the end. From a horrible offensive foul to a ball knocked out of bounds that even after review they kept the bad call on the court. Everyone knows when the offensive player goes to catch the ball he’s doing just that, trying to catch the ball, bringing it in, and the defender is trying to knock it away, so how is it that when the defender knocks the ball away he gets the ball?

  18. Mike E. says:

    Toba

No shit? They celebrate the snowplow game? I was at the 1982 playoff game in the Orange Bowl dubbed “The NO Snowplow” game, MIA vs NE, and we kicked their ass! That’s the important thing!

  19. wyoming85 says:

Adam Schefter ‏@AdamSchefter 1m1 minute ago
Patriots expected to place OL Ryan Wendell on injured reserve to make roster space to activate center Bryan Stork, per league source.

  20. manitobafinfan says:

Yep i could have understood maybe a mention of it somewhere in the history, but they have the plow hanging from the ceiling with the story playing over the speakers and the the photo spread beside it. Course backbin 82 they really sucked and needed all the help they could get.

I will also say their local sports guys are the most arrogant annoying bunch i have ever heard on air Had to turn off football coverage. I Never do that lol

  21. finfanrob says:

I’m sure they’re arrogant, they freaking win every year.

guys just excuse mike e. he still is struggling with how to help out the single man. what he meant to say was ‘they freaking cheat every year’

  22. wyoming85 says:

Been rooting for your Hawkeyes this year Randy!

lmao, you boys up there better start living it up. they say over the next 75 years the water will rise. better not waste a day of it while you can.

  24. finfanrob says:

so i guess since lazor is coaching the gator game today he wont be in miami tomorrow.

they have a qb that completes 50+% of his passes and a running back that is one of the best in the sec and so what do they do, come out passing and abandon the run.

  25. Tim Knight says:

Cool pics, Toba. Nice job putting them up, Herd.

  26. Randy says:

    Wyoming,
Thank you! It’s actually amazing that this team is undefeated after what they’ve had to go through with player losses and stuff. They’re not a powerhouse, by any means, just a bunch of scrubs playing hard and finding ways to win. Playing old school Big 10 football.
    ***
Also, I really like our CB Desmond King. If he decides to come out, I’d love to have him on our team.

  27. steveccnv says:

The Dolphins activated rookie RB Jay Ajayi for Sunday’s game against the Bills.

I was beginning to wonder, if Campbell was going to start doing the same BS Philbin was doing with the rookies, he’s already playing the game with Parker.

    • manitobafinfan says:

Will be nice to see what he can do

    • Tim Knight says:

Parker is not 100% and neither was Ajayi that’s why he was on the 8 game IR. Rookies play all the time when they earn it. Still not sure why some of you keep saying that. Tannehill, Martin, James, Landry, Douglas all started as rookies. Others have played as well. Vigil who went undrafted plays some LB and STs. Bo. McCain has been playing. Aikens played last year. Jenkins played as a rookie. Phillips has played as a rookie. Williams played as a rookie. I can go on and on.

  28. finfanrob says:

lol the networks eating up ND beating pitt. if half the SEC schools could play the schedule ND does they would win every game by 50 points.

  29. finfanrob says:

    steve,

sorry but officiating in nba games when wwf like about 10 year ago. no one knows what the rules are in the nba anymore.

  30. Mike E. says:

Glad Ajayi has been activated. I hope he gets a few carries, and he makes the most of them. I don’t expect much this week, but hopefully his touches increase a little each week.

  31. finfanrob says:

ok i am done with football. i dont watch it to see the refs. they can have their game. this targeting bs in college is a joke. i will stick with womens soccer, it is more a manly sport then this bs

    • son of a son of a shula says:

That call was such bullshit first he hit the qb in the shoulder and why the hell would he target with just over a minute to go against a qb who has completed only 2 passes on the day. Idiotic penalty and even worse interpretation of the rule.

  32. CavalierKong says:

    Awesome pics!

  33. manitobafinfan says:

Could one of you post the picture of Trypod ??

  34. finfanrob says:

    son,

that call was so bad it makes you question why it was called. i am just sick of the refs trying to change the outcome of games. sacking the qb is not targeting. but like i said, they can have the sport if that is how it is going to be called.

  35. finfanrob says:

so in the fsu game now. i guess the rule is if the qb is still in bounds and you push him out of bounds that is a 15 yard penalty

    • herdfan says:

Absolutely! But how in the world could he leave me out when he’s talking about connections between Marshall and the Dolphins? 😉

      • Tim Knight says:

LOL, he’s been excellent on STs. I see his name and # constantly in coverage. Was that 46 again? LOL

  36. Tim Knight says:

Let’s be honest, 3-6 overall, 0-4 in the DIV and 2-5 in the AFC is a death sentence.

There are a few ways Ross can go if we lose this week and the team starts to retreat into future considerations.

    1. Tannenbaum is given control to bring in who he believes in to turn this team around, whether that involves Hickey, Campbell and staff or not, and take that route.

    2. He cleans house and hires a consultant like Polian etc. and he hires people he believes in.

    3. He targets a HC like Mike Smith and allows him to work with people he trusts on the personnel side.

  37. manitobafinfan says:

Tomorrow we need another statement game like the Titans or Texans game. Losing to NE is not a dusgraceful thing, it Sucks huge but it happens. Cannit lose to Bills or Jets anymore. Our season starts ( and possibly ends) tomorrow. Go Miami Campbells

    • Tim Knight says:

It’s a playoff game for us. 3-5 overall, 0-4 in the DIV and 2-5 in the AFC. Not good. It’s a must win if we plan on hanging around.

  38. getterdone says:

    Go Mancampbell !

  39. Mike E. says:

No doubt, that if we lose, we’re done thinking about the playoffs this year. I hope we don’t get there. I’m tired of having to be negative about his team, but they do it every year. How bout a surprise win tomorrow, and then go on a tear, and make it into the playoffs hot!

    • Tim Knight says:

I feel the same way, man. The Mets were in the Dolphins shoes back in June. They added some additions and went on a roll. It’s different in the NFL but the same idea applies. Go do it!

      Go Pnins!!!!

    • getterdone says:

I wanna see winning football. A team that is well coached & plays well together in all phases.
I wanna see a team that doesn’t make a lot of mistakes.
I wanna see a team that can actually go on a winning streak like other top teams.

  40. getterdone says:

Kovacs & Parker didn’t fly to Buffalo…..thought it was just scar tissue and a non-issue with #11’s foot….SMH

    • Tim Knight says:

Kovacs isn’t a big loss. Parker hasn’t been a factor yet, still hoping he can show us what’s to come.

    • jetsssuck says:

foots are hard to overcome in a couple of months. Gotta figure the weight he puts on it isn’t good. Have had a broken big toe for 3 months now and still hasn’t healed. Doctor told me it takes more time for feet than regular bones. They don’t usually put casts on big toes either

  41. Mike E. says:

Yeah man, do it right for once! Go Dan the Man! BBL guys, going to watch a movie

  42. getterdone says:

Good to see Ajayi activated but instead of getting rid of Jonas Gray or Damien Williams the team waived Sam Brenner.

  43. steveccnv says:

so in the fsu game now. i guess the rule is if the qb is still in bounds and you push him out of bounds that is a 15 yard penalty.
    —————————-
I saw that Rob, and the putz that called it did it emphatically, as if to fire up the crowd. It was a horrible call, but what is the FSU guy doing trying to take out the qb like that?

I usually root for FSU, unless they’re playing Miami, but today I wanted Clemson. I want as many undefeateds to stay that way, just to keep Alabama out of the final 4.

  44. Tim Knight says:

Campbell in his presser said they’re cross training Douglas as a G/C but guard is his primary position. Douglas beat out Brenner is all that’s about.
    LT Albert/Fox
    LG Thomas/ Douglas
    C Pouncey/Douglas
    RG Turner/Douglas
RT Fox, James (injured 4-6 weeks), Thomas
    OL Linkenbach

    • getterdone says:

Douglas also played LT @ Ari St.

      • Tim Knight says:

He isn’t playing LT unless we’re fucked. Turner was also a college LT. I was pointing out next man up. Douglas is first on the interior followed by Fox and Thomas at OT.

      • getterdone says:

        This I know. I was just making a comment….geez. 😉

My preference is to see Douglas become a solid pulling LG of the future for us.

  45. CavalierKong says:

Are you practicing what you’ll be saying about Grimes and Jones tomorrow?
    —————
    LOL, I hope so!

  46. wyoming85 says:

    The 2 best ILB’s against the 2 best RB’s

    Lets see who steps up!!!!!!!!!!

  47. manitobafinfan says:

Parker also carted off from patriots gane so wither something new or an aggravation get Stills involved early !!!!

  48. steveccnv says:

Ok, good to see Brenner was released, so Williams and Gray can stay, both of which contribute unlike Brenner.

  49. Try Pod says:

Sam Madison’s name in the ring of honor at Cardinal Stadium (no Mark Clayton for some reason):
