from Wyo
Q – Mike, You have
CB JALEN RAMSEY – FLORIDA STATE
OT RONNIE STANLEY – NOTRE DAME
OLB MYLES JACK – UCLA
OLB JAYLON SMITH – NOTRE DAME
Setting there in the first round.
Who is your pick?
Things may change, but as you know I haven’t been thrilled with our O-line, and it’s time to bring in a young LT, hopefully one that can actually stay here and be a standout player for a decade or so. It’s so painfully obvious what a difference there is when #76, Branden Albert is on the field, and when he isn’t. Let’s finally draft our other bookend, and with Pouncey, and maybe Turner and either Douglas or Thomas, we can have some continuity on our O-line. Maybe this OT can start at G his first season so he has value and gets playing experience, and then the following year, replaces #76.
All the other players I’d love to have, and I do recognize we really need a CB here. I suppose I could go CB or LB in RD 1, and then grab a OT in the 2nd or 3rd RD. I’d just hate to skimp on possibly the most important position on the O-line, especially since our O-line has been a letdown, admittedly, partially due to Lazor’s offense.
Really, it’s like switching chairs around on a sinking Titanic. Does it matter? We have a lot of holes to fill, and lord we knows we need CB’s and LB, but since the league is so biased towards offense, get the best you can to make the offense work.
So, with the 11th pick in the 2016 NFL draft . . .
The Miami Dolphins select OT, Notre Dame, Ronnie Stanley
______________________________________________
After 9 games played, the Miami Dolphins stand at 4-5. Not what any of us fans had hoped for, after what seemed like a promising off season. The problems, or holes if you will, are many. While the run game has shown lots of promise, it still remains a second citizen in Lazor’s offense. I can’t think of one good reason for that to be the case, especially with Rookie Jay Ajayi showing he’s ready to roll, and busting out some big runs with few opportunities. The cabinet is NOT bare behind Lamar Miller, so let’s run the ball. Nice 1-2 punch of Miller and Ajayi. It seems painfully obvious that the O-line doesn’t struggle when run blocking, so keep at it!
On defense, far too many holes exist. Grimes is slipping, and although rookie Bobby McCain shows promise, I’m not convinced he’d be starting anywhere else but here, out of sheer desperation. For once, it’s not the CB’s that are the worst unit now. With Jelani Jenkins, Koa Misi and Spencer Paysinger banged up, we have Mike Hull, Neville Hewitt and Zach Vigil. The ALL UNDRAFTED team!
BTW, back to the standings. Miami is in last place in the AFC East, but what really freaks me out is we’re the only team with a negative point differential. We’re -34, while the Jets and Bills are at +33 and +24 respectively, and the Pats are in an other worldly +134.
McPain had a nice sack this past week knocking Eagles QB Sam Bradford out of the game!
OK, so back to the NFL standings, and what it means for our team. As silly as it may seem, we still have a shot at the playoffs, due to how poorly the rest of the AFC is playing. We need one of the 2 teams in our division to fall, either the Jets or Bills. We probably need the Steelers to fall too. We need the Chiefs and Raiders to stay about where they are, and we need the Colts and Texans to stay on their current path as well. It’s a lot, it really is, because along with all that, we need to go on a tear, and I mean win almost every game. Maybe we have a one game cushion, but that’s not necessarily the case. It’s a pipe dream, but hey, why not?

WE’RE BAD!
BAD TO THE BONE!!!
Greynolds Park, Do I ever…
I was there when the Hippies hung out on the hill in the late 60s early 70s right through the mid 80s when we where the Party Crowd.
I even know who was trashing the place at night around 81-82′
Like I said in my Haulover post a while back, I probably knew you if you hung out then.
Did you go to Fernando’s Party?
Funny my grand daughters first school play was Hernando’s Hideaway a few weeks back. Fernando-hernando’s Got another this saturday for the pilgrams first thanksgiving.
—————————–
I remember the castle and how we would smoke up there when the cops were patrolling the area. We had so many big get to togethers with friends barbq’s there it’s amazing. Great times were had there with weekend get together’s. What’s amazing is these kids now a days don’t want to go out and would rather play video games. We use to stay out outside until we almost had to be dragged inside.
The only one to Axe you a question?
Thanks for the answer!
Although I would go LB. there are good OT that will be there in the 2nd
Watch Jason Spriggs from Indiana!
I think you left Hargreaves and some of the potential pass rushers off your list
I would definately go Defense
Mike E is wrong!….lol
Au contraire, Monsieur Poisson!!
——————-
O-Line is by 10 miles (about 16 kilometers) our greatest need. If your QB replacement has to play behind THIS line, he’s going to have a VERY SHORT CAREER! And, as far as Miller/Ajayi having running lanes, forget that shit!! Anything less tha an O-Lineman in round 1 is unacceptable, ESPECIALLY IF DOOFUS T-BAUM IS DOING THE PICKING!!!

GREAT WORK, AS ALWAYS, MIKE!! We really appreciate your efforts!

A story about Rishard Matthews that you really want to read. Enjoy AC in the AM. http://www.miamidolphins.com/news/article-4/AC-In-The-AM-An-Emotional-Time-For-Rishard-Matthews/81db2f6e-7945-44ae-af59-506f4745cdb6 …
Good job Mike! A very nice ’80’s pic of Michelle Pfeiffer.
Thanks, I think she has a beautiful face.
I know you all wonder what I do- lol. This is one of the organizations I partner with to accomplish the goal stated within:

Good work!

Thank you sir. It is pretty cool. I know the guys and girls noted in the article. They really seem to care about their jobs, so it makes the crappy pay a little easier to absorb.
Thanks for the question Wyo – Yeah man, there’s a drought. It’s cool, I think it’s transitioning into an article at this point, I’m not going to bug people to send in questions, so if I don’t get any, I’ll just write something like I’ve been doing. Thanks again for usually sending one in though.
OK Mike. Do you like breast or legs?
I like ’em all!
Thanks OD

Oh so this time I was able to post the first time.
Mike E, good stuff. Sorry I had a question to send you but forgot to send it. It was going to be about the running game and you touched on it anyway.
By the way, what is your avi?
No worries, I appreciate that you usually send one in. Thanks
Try
That’s a great program, something you should be proud to be a part of. Very nice.
Thanks Mike. I’m nowhere near as integral a part as some of the people mentioned, but we all share the same ultimate goal, so in that regard it is great.
Tim
They’re my “Dolphins” pills I take every day. I just get a kick that the hydrochlorothiazide (Aqua pill) pill and the aspirin (Orange pill) are Dolphins colors, which is very fitting, so I took a picture of them. lol
Oh okay.
Everyone thought it was bi-polar meds for you when watching dolphin games
Wow, sad story with Rishard.

nice job mike. I agree. oline should definitely be addressed high in the draft next year. I would also consider an OLB (pass rusher). If the right MLB is available then that’s another huge need IMO.
I think the guards are developing and should be better next year. We could use a good young tackle though and a quality backup G/C.
The oline can be upgraded. One think I know is tanny plays a lot better when we have a run game and when he has time. Right now he’s barely getting either.
Boulder, if we want to upgrade the OL we’d be better off adding a proven player in FA. It doesn’t have to be the a huge signing, just a quality player. The recent trend has shown us that very few rookie OL are ready to start out of college, even the top picks.
Thanks Boulder
We really do need quality LB’s, so it’s a tough decision. I wouldn’t be crushed if we went LB first, but we have to get a quality OT as well at some point.
“As silly as it may seem, we still have a shot at the playoffs, due to how poorly the rest of the AFC is playing.”
—————
At 4-5 we’re just 1 1/2 games out, smh. And it’s not just the AFC. The NFC has a lot of bad to mediocre teams too. The quality of football across the entire league is down.
we lost 3-4 games to playoff teams.
we got our asses handed to us by a playoff team and 2 possible playoff teams.
maybe its the way the league set up the schedules?
jetssuck
I might need those meds too, I just haven’t seen the right doctor yet. lol
Kong
Yeah, you’re right, the NFC has some teams on the slide too Both the NFC East and West have most teams at or below .500
I’ve been trying to pull up standings for 10 weeks into the season for other years ro compare, but I’m not having any luck. I’m curious if it’s my perception or if the league is really playing historically bad ball.
There is 1 team at .500 and 11 teams over .500.
20 out of 32 teams are under .500
our bad luck is we have fuckin brady in our division or right now we’d still have a chance to win our division like most other .500 teams.
tim,
I don’t disagree. We just need to upgrade it. Bring in more players and let the best man win.
I think maybe the more athletic the oline is, the easier it is for them to get bull rushed or out muscled when it comes to pass protection. Not sure but it seems like we’re getting more sacks because our oline is made for zone run blocking and lacks strength when it comes to pass protection. It was pretty obvious last game with pouncey on a couple key 3rd down plays.
It’s a talent issue not the system we play. James is still a young player though a good one. Fox is a backup level player. Albert is still probably getting back his game so he has his struggles at times. Pouncey is not the most powerful center in the game but he might be the most athletic. The young guards are exactly that, young and may or may not be good enough, still too early to call.
so we need upgrade in talent which is what I’m saying.
The french raid into appt. where terrorist were hiding and planning another atttack had over 5000 bullets fired. French authorities have emergency powers where they can raid any dwelling without warrant and they can place anyone under house arrest with electronic ankle bracelets without court approval. Telephone warrants are not needed under new emergency powers.
“The bodies recovered in the raid were badly mangled, with part of Aitboulahcen’s (the woman who blew herself up) spine landing on a police car, slowing down the identification process, according to one of the officials.”
several police dogs were killed also.
I was reading yesterday where ISIS killed gay people by throwing them off building roofs with Syrian chistrians forced to watch below. The y did this on the same day Obama signed equal rights for Gays.
Feel like I let Miike E down……..all of us except Wyoming actually, but our guy rebounded and still put together a fine post. Guessing he wins a lot of games when his fielders are booting them right and left too.
you didn’t let him down… He wanted a live blog Q and A like Omar used to do.
He asked for Qs……I meant to send one in, but then other life got in the way and I forgot.
Boulder, I didn’t disagree we could use an upgrade in talent on the OL. I said the draft might not be the way to go because rookie OL struggle often. I’d look to the draft for potential and a backup position, but I’d go FA for a starter.
Problem is, you usually pay heavily for solid O-line talent, especially a lT, like we did with Branden Albert. You can draft one and have him learn the scheme at another position, or if he’s really not ready, he can sit for a year. Usually you can play them inside at first if they were a high pick.
Even high round tackles who start off at guard struggle early on. I’m not talking about signing a pro bowl guard, just a vet who you deem better than what you have.
Bill Polian recently said rookie OL struggle because of the offenses they played in college and the new CBA doesn’t allow for the work that is needed to get them up to speed.
Stanger
LOL – No problem bro, you almost always send in a question. I’ll just put it there every week, and I’ll answer whatever I get, and if it’s not a lot or nothing, I’ll just fill it in with something else.
Tim
Some struggle, and some do great, just like any other position. Ereck Flowers is doing very well this year, but others like DJ Humphries are struggling.
I heard that from Bill Polian, and he’s not the only one to say that. It’s obviously a problem.
Erik Flowers struggled early and has improved as the season has gone on. That’s kind of what I was saying, they struggle early due to what Polian said and you have to live with their learning curve in-season. That doesn’t improve your OL at the start of the season though. James had a good rookie year for us too but he also had some ups and downs. To upgrade the OL you’re not looking for learning curves and ups and downs, you’re looking for a proven guy who’s solid week in and week out.
OK, but it’s so much more expensive to pick up someone else’s LT in FA. Better to draft them, and develop them.
Mike E, why are you looking to replace Albert at LT? If you’re talking about drafting a tackle to groom I agree and said that, draft a tackle as a backup to develop. I thought you and Boulder were talking about upgrading the OL, not adding depth.
I’d draft a top LT, and if he’s ready to go out of the box, I’d play him, but most likely, he’d be better served to learn and wait. Cutting Albert would save a lot of money. He’s a $10M + cap hit every year.
Yeah but he’s a proven commodity who if he stays healthy the rest of the season he should be even better next year. I wouldn’t worry about the cap, let the cap peeps deal with that. A rookie is not going to be an upgrade over Albert.
Probably going to make myself look stupid but…….who is the BOTW? Not that the view ain’t good.
Really? Give you her initials, and she’s not Military Police. MP
I had to cheat sorta………was she married to Tony M?
Michelle Pfeiffer
Guess she was

First movie I saw Michelle Pfeiffer in was “THe Hollywood Knights”, which was a funny movie. She was pretty skinny, but you could see she was a beauty.
She’s amazing. Even though I hate the movie…….still can’t turn the channel from Grease 2 when it comes on.
Great win…surprising for me anyway. Proved me wrong, which I love. I’m still not sold though, so I have to go against the phins again this week. Philly isn’t that good to begin with, then Sanchez plays…and saves the day for us. Tougher challenge for the D with the OL and QB/WR combo of the ‘Boys.
HOWIE I’m going 30 – 24 DAL
I’m not sold either……but at least the boys have some fight in them these days. They might lose but they don’t fold.
Tim
Any time you have an opportunity to play a guy who makes a 10th of the guy in front of him, you do it. I wouldn’t rush Albert out of here, but if the guy you draft is ready, the next year, Albert is gone
That’s different, I was talking about next offseason upgrading the OL for the 2016 season.
Stanger
You hated The Hollywood Knights?
Nope — hated Grease 2. Never saw the other one.
Ah, gotcha. Pretty funny. Fran Drescher, Tony Danza, Robert Wuhl, Stuart Pankin. Funny movie. Michelle Pfeiffer had a bit part. I think she was about 21

Grease 2 was god-awful, but I also can’t turn it off because of Michelle. I’ve found if you just turn the sound down then it isn’t nearly so bad.
Funny thing is, I’m not sure I saw Grease 2
I haven’t seen Hollywood Knights.
I thought we discussed it, and you saw it. Newbomb Turk?

I’m surprised Linkenbach didn’t crack the lineup. He started at every position for the Chiefs.

well not the ones i would want to share
ffr — guess I’ll stay away from that on board, but check out one of her first gigs…..had no clue.
As for the draft talk. This year is fairly deep with OT talent. You will be able to get a start right away guy maybe into the late 2nd, or 3rd. ILB is a really weak class. There are players with talent but they are all really non-traditional physically. Teh most highly touted ones are like 6’1-6’2 and 230-240. To me they all look like 2nd to 3rd ish talent. Good thing they are all very instinctual players. There are some OLB prospects that i think could move inside because they have moved around in college and have the skills necessary, one i think is very underrated is Kris Frost from Auburn, who might wind up being a real steal in the 5th-6th rounds.
My big-board has Hargreaves on the top, followed by Nkemdiche, Tunsil, Stanley, Floyd, and then Ramsey, maybe even Laquon Treadwell after that. If we pick in the top 10 i feel we have a 2 out of 3 shot on my top 3. If we pick outside the top 10 but before 20, id say my top 4 is all gone by pick 15ish, and id almost be more tempted to trade back an pick up a second, second round pick and take which of the other two was still there after the trade back. Im not a fan of Myles Jack, and Jaylen Smith isnt better than Reggie Ragland, Reuben Foster, Kentrell Brothers, Kendell Beckwith, and none of them are first rounders imo. Its a really solid bunch of ILB’s but there are no Luke Kuechkley’s in this years draft, not even close.
Sorry i meant top tier is really weak, its solid 2-3rd rounds.
stanger,
actually her first gig or i would imagine close to the first was as alice in wonderland at disneyland when she was younger.
now if i could just get her to play michelle on sofaland life will be so good.
LOL — think Michelle has some options other than you and me.
Did think it cool that she hung out with John and Ponch on CHIPS though.
HOLD ON. HOLD THE FUCKING PHONE
i am not one of her options? shit. dammit, guess i will just have to settle for kate upton then
Kate Upton is so last year… trade her in for this newer model.

Not a fan of oversized balloons.
LOL ffr — shouldn’t have said “options other than you and me.” I’ll change that to just me. You da man. 🙂
This ain’t cool…….not like we have great depth at LB.
—————————-
“Linebackers Koa Misi and Jelani Jenkins both missed practice on Thursday and are question marks to play against the Cowboys this week.
“Both of them will probably be a game-time decision,” head coach Dan Campbell said, via Adam Beasley of the Miami Herald. “I’d say Koa is a little bit better at this point. But we’re optimistic about both.”
Misi is dealing with an abdomen injury, while Jenkins has an ankle injury that he suffered last week. In light of both of these injuries, the Dolphins signed James-Michael Johnson to the 53-man roster this week, and he’ll likely see time on the field against Dallas.”
its actually not the depth that’s the issue
its the starters that suck
It’s both. We will likely have the all UNDRAFTED team out there. The depth isn’t horrible, but I don’t know if any of those guys are starters.
Wow! This is pretty big
In the 2016 NFL Draft, teams will be allowed to trade their compensatory picks. Doesn’t mean anything to us, we haven’t had one in a century, but the Steelers and Patriots should be happy.
Yeah we MIGHT get one for Odrick, but i doubt it.
+ Starks

its like downgrading from piss to poop
LOL – Yeah
Not a huge Misi fan (solid if unspectacular), but I do like Jenkins….especially in the new pass crazy game.
For sure see at least one LB coming our way in FA or high in the draft though.
he collects tackles
but sometimes average players collect tackles
if we added 2 LBs, Jenkins would probably be the one I keep next season
we aren;t losing much by injured LBs IMO
they just were not playing very well to begin with
D – We got Suh – Forget any compensatory picks
I’ll never completely understand the formula for ccompensatory picks, but free agent salary and production factor in. Suh will put the kibash on any compensation
Value added vs. value lost. We released Starks so nothing there, Orick we lost to FA but Suh trumps him.

Rob
That was Tim who must have lost his big balloon at a fair or something. lol
Also, its not like what the balloons was attached to was crappy either lol…..
Mike from what i have seen it mainly depends on the guy you lost vs the guy you get. Ex: Starks was a starter, we lost him, we gained Suh and they would cancel each other out so no comp pick for Starks. We also lost Odrick, we didnt pick up a FA replacement so we should be awarded a pick. How high a pick is determined by a set of factors including how much playing time he got, ie starter or rotational, his salary (which i dont remember what it was) and if we got to the post season and if he won any post season awards. High salaried starter, who was a post season mvp, would probably get close to the 3rd round compensation, Odrick however might be a 6th at best is my guess.
We lost Clay but got Cameron…. cancels out.
That pretty much covers all of our starters that we lost to FA.
Basically Mike what i saw when i looked it up, it starts with whether you lost more that you gained and if you have 1 to 1 replacement or replaced more than you lost, then you are in the running for a pick. What you get, and what round you get is dependent on the value of your loss. Suh cancels out Starks because he was signed to replace him.
err, if you lost more than you gained you are considered for a pick. one to one replacement or replacing more than you lost with mean you didnt get one. ….i cocked up that explanation
We’ll see next year. I’m not going to be hopeful. Seriously, can you remember the last time we got one?
To determine Comp pick
the league takes the players you lost
vs the players you acquired
multiply that by team salary
divide that by the players on special teams with who wear their hats backwards or sideways on Tuesdays
add 100 points if the team is from new england
place it in a salad bowl
mix
add salt and pepper to taste
bake for 20 mins at 350 degrees
inspect for Tom Brady disadvantages
eliminates duck duck goose losers
then the NFL awards the picks to the teams
its a simple formula
I don;t know why you guys are confused by it
That sounds DELICIOUS!!!!
Here’s a mock.
Your score is: 7794 (GRADE: A)
Your Picks:
Round 1 Pick 9: Jalen Ramsey, FS, Florida State (A+)
Round 2 Pick 9: Ezekiel Elliott, RB, Ohio State (A+)
Round 3 Pick 9: Jerald Hawkins, OT, LSU (A-)
Round 4 Pick 9: Jalen Reeves-Maybin, OLB, Tennessee (A+)
Round 5 Pick 9: Eric Murray, CB, Minnesota (A)
Round 6 Pick 9: Braxton Miller, WR, Ohio State (A)
Round 7 Pick 6: Kevin Hogan, QB, Stanford (A+)
Round 7 Pick 9: Jonathan Jones, CB, Auburn (A+)
I think we are instantly better with Ramsey
but we might need more help at LB than that
Comp picks: value added vs. value lost. We released Starks so nothing there, Orick we lost to FA but Suh trumps him.
I like my recipe better than your post
It was tastier. Tim’s comments taste like oppression and hate, and he has no understanding of seasoning!
Oh i forgot we release Starks….so yeah you are right.
Your Picks:
Round 1 Pick 11: Jalen Ramsey, CB/FS, Florida State (A+)
Round 2 Pick 11: Kendell Beckwith, ILB, LSU (B)
Round 3 Pick 11: Carl Lawson, DE/OLB, Auburn (A)
Round 4 Pick 11: Alex Collins, RB, Arkansas (A+)
Round 5 Pick 11: Devonte Fields, DE/OLB, Louisville (B-)
Round 6 Pick 11: Pharoh Cooper, WR, South Carolina (A+)
Round 7 Pick 2: Brian Poole, CB, Florida (B-)
Round 7 Pick 11: Jordan Swindle, OT, Kentucky (A)
Piggy likey your 1, 2, 3
TBH you are looking to hit on your 1,2,3 rest are educated guesses at best.
Piggy, I think your post smells like shit. LOL
add salt then
I’m not looking to eat it.
Yea, Ramsey is #1 on my wish list right now.
Hargreaves to me is way better, but Ramsey is my no 2 DB target for the 1st round.
Hargreaves is a CB (#1 rated at that), while I think Ramsey best value is at safety. Add Ramsey’s versatility with Jones and it would give us an awesome safety combo.
Mike E, I believe we got a 7th rd comp pick in 2012.
Thanks – It would be nice to get 1 or 2 in the 3rd RD like all those other teams do. I hate that.
RGS
do you think Ramsey is a Safety or a CB in the NFL?
He can play both. I think he could be very good at CB, but at safety I think he’ll have several pro bowls in his future
I prefer him as a safety as well
Its give shim more chances to make plays
I don;t view him as a shutdown cb
first pick has really re-scored its plaers rankings. Lots of players i knew they had under values are actually getting higher grades now, like Bullard from UF who is a beast rom both the DE and DT positions. Shaq Lawson is now a 1st round grade and im seeing him routinely go in the top 10 and at least top 20. Jayron Kearse is now getting a 1st round grade.
Yea, I noticed that too.
Ronald McDonald’s prom picture.

his poor date
It looks like she was forced to go with. LOL
Question of the day — does Mike E want him in aqua?

He’s Mike E’s boy though. And if you think about it if his market price is that low he might not make a bad back-up QB. The upside would there waiting.

I prefer him as a safety as well
Its give shim more chances to make plays
I don;t view him as a shutdown cb
If you’re drafting for a shutdown corner, Hargreaves is the way to go. I would be drafting Ramsey for FS all the way. BTW, I don’t think we have a shot at Hargreaves unless we trade up. I think he’ll go in the top 5-7. While we might have an outside chance at Ramsey in the 8-12 slot which is where we have been the last couple weeks.
Stanger, you don’t want to add a guy to your team that wasn’t liked by his former team and they had some success. At least I wouldn’t.
Tim — but he comes with a reallly cool tortoise. Plus the Q was what Mike E is thinking. And I could see him here.
Stanger
What happened in SF was just a bizarre set of circumstances. It seemed that once they parted ways with Harbaugh, the whole team just unraveled. So many retired, and the team was a shell of what it was, with their new coach. I’d take him as a backup if they cut him, but I’d guess he won’t come cheap.
Price would be the question……..he’d come with that upside. The guy who could be the starter. Moore is fine but he doesn’t have that.
Yup – And we won’t trade for him. If he was released, I guess there would be a chance.
Why you guys so scared of Romo, Our D punishes QBs just for fun.
Romo will be out for the rest of the year after us, Why does Jones want to get the guy killed after lossing 7 straight?
Tony, stay home and make some Crownie’s if you want to start next season…
Howie 31-16 MIA
WERE BAD!
The tortoise is obviously faking it.
LOL — that’s the real deal. Seems you haven’t seen as much tortoise porn as I have. 🙂
LOL
I could see Philly making a run at him. Chip Kelly’s offense needs someone who can run the read option better than Bradford or Sanchez.
That would be a good fit. Seems they have gone less that way this year…..but might be cause of what QBs they have.
Definitely due to personnel, you can’t run the read option with Bradford, who’s very much like Chris Chandler, otherwise known as Crystal Chandelier. lol That’s still my favorite nickname.
I would think Kaep would want to go somewhere where he would have a chance to compete to be the starter, or a place where he would just be the starter.
Does Chip Kelly even want to run the read option? He hasn’t targeted that type of QB.
I don’t think he drafted Foles, and although he did trade for Bradford, I suspect he thought Bradford would be better than Foles, which he has been.
I was just looking at the SF offense this year, it’s just awful. I know Kaep isn’t playing great, but their offense sucks. Carlos Hyde leads the team with 470 yards and 3 TD’s, and Kaep is right behind him with 256 yards rushing and 1 TD. I think the whole team is just struggling.
The word on Kaep is he alienated his teammates which is bad for a QB who is suppose to be a leader, and he hasn’t progressed as a passer but has regressed overall.
I think it was unrealistic to expect him to improve this year, the team is in a shambles. You have to be fair. So many people left, including the HC, and who is Jim Tomasula? I mean Tannehill regressed this year, is it all his fault?
No not all his fault for the team’s struggles, but his started last year.
True, but I think the Niners started to freefall last year with the Coach fighting with the GM. I think the players knew there was going to be a fallout.

By the way, Dan Campbell admitted today Ryan Tannehill cannot audible to any play in the playbook. Said it would slow his rhythm.
Why, does he have a slow IP connection?
Dial up?
LOL Wyo – Must be. I really don’t get that. Does “any” play mean he can’t just pick any play, but he does have a few choices, or does it mean he simply is not allowed to audible?
It likely has to do with personnel packages and formations. I think I remember hearing he has a pass and a run play he can call. Obviously there are multiple target options on the pass play and probably two different options on a run play. But to completely change the play formations is probably a bit much. You can only do that when you play with a regular base offensive set which we don’t do. Also most plays are called based on the situation in the game, down and distance and where you are on the field.
I’ve heard the broadcasters (who may not know anything) say that Tannehill isn’t allowed to audible.
I’ve heard it too Mike, and I’m not buying that RT can’t audible, because we don’t run a regular base offense. You can’t have success enough, if you don’t let him audible. He was pre-med in college, I’m pretty sure he can read a D.
That tortoise is a known skank
And has herpes
Mike E, I don’t really know what RT’s audible options are other than what I said, but the idea is to execute the play. The protections change based on what the defense is doing, but they react to what our formation is so there has to be some audible options. Example: if the play is suppose to be an off tackle run to the strong side and the defense loads up on that side. do you run right into it? I don’t think so.
LOL – I would hope not, but I guess it’s to what extent is it an audible. I mean altering which side the run play goes to is not really a lot of freedom. Is he allowed to change from a run play to a pass play and vice-versa?
I think he has a run/pass option. He’s just not gonna change the play from a bread and butter play to a double reverse statue of liberty play. LOL
The thing that drives me nuts, is when RT waits for the D to line up, so he can see what defense they’re showing. F that, if you’re ready just go, I think the D not being ready hurts them a lot more than it helps an O to wait for them.
He has to know what the coverage is is it’s a pass play, and it they’re loading up for a specific blitz you don’t want to run a shotgun draw.
The point I was trying to make is we never go quick when the D isn’t ready. A quick audible to a little crossing route or a quick hitter up the middle will give you a cheap 5-10 yrds.
Steve
Otter in Animal House was also pre-med
Yeah, but his GPA 1.2
Ah, you know they grade those foosball players higher than they should
Piggy
Does the tortoise have Kaerpes?
Steve, we don’t run the uptempo offense often but we have done it. Usually only when we’re in a groove though. Which isn’t most of the time.
And he still waits for the D to line up. When the cheats go before we’re ready we get roasted.
Watching this game with those uniforms is like watching the Ghey Bowl. Not that there is anything wrong with that.
Not bright enough for gay. The Jags unis are an old ugly mustard SD Padres color. LOL
It boggles my mind that someone picked out these uniforms and thought yes, this is what we’re going with. They are awful.
Powder Blue and Puke Gold
People bitch about Tanny’s accuracy but the last throw by Bortles was pure shit
LOL
Tanne’s accuracy is a more inconsistent, so it makes sense.
You put teams from that division in primetime you get what you get, 6-6 at the half, Monday’s game 10-6.
What we’re seeing is too many young players having to play significantly before they should. We’re in the same boat. It’s a watered down version of professional football.
We’re in it, because of injuries, mainly to LBs, are rookies don’t play enough.
There’s a highlight of Rondo today on ESPN doing the rock the ball behind his back move, I can’t tell if he took 4 or 5 steps after he picked up his dribble. On Lakers TV they have Kobe doing a move similar to the D Wade move where he jumps from side to side on his way to the hoop, only Kobe takes 4 steps on his way in.
WTF is with the NBA and traveling? They haven’t called it for yrs, but it’s getting ridiculous, then they call a role player for traveling on a questionable play.
And the HEAT win again…
WTF is with the NBA and traveling?
the nba officiating and rules went the way of the wwf quite a few years ago. no one knows what the rules are anymore. unfortunately the nfl is now going there too. no one knows what the rules are anymore. they want it like that cause it gives them control of who wins games
Anyone see the last play of the game? The Jags put 7 guys on the 5 yrd line and rushed 4, ball at 22 with 5 seconds left, and a sack ended it. I would’ve thrown the ball 5 yrds downfield and pitched it around, or had 3 wide with a 4th behind them, thrown it to him and let the 3 blockers lead him to the endzone.
I could see us putting 7 at the 5 in that situation and give up a td on a short pass. The point I’m trying to make is I hope our team has practiced what to do in this situation, I’d hate to lose one on a last second TD.
