The Porcine Oddyssey #101:
An Artistic Interpretation on the Dolphins 2015 Season.
Ahh…what to do on Sundays when the Dolphins suck…I know what I do. I can go to the museum. I know just the spot. They are having a Dolphins Exhibit about the 2015 season. Let’s check it out.

This one is called Tanny Pollack. It leaves a lot to the imagination. If you stare it at for long time you will have your own interpretation of Tanny too.
Is he the future or not?
Look at his offensive line collapse around him? Did he hold the ball too long?
Why can’t his receivers get open? Was that pass late? Did he miss the receiver?
What a dumb play call? Did Tanny make a bad decision?
Different people see a lot of different things in Tanny Pollack.
For the purpose of this post – I will be silent on my opinion, but there dis no question about it – opinions vary a lot on Tannehill.

This one is called Dolphins vs Patriots.
Amid a flurry of penalty flags the Dolphins pass rush tries to get to Tom Brady but appears to only end up dancing around him.
Tom Brady stands lady like as he delivers another TD pass…this one makes me cry a little.
Note that Vernon is helping an injured Cameron wake off the field. Exactly what we needed when we played the Patriots – Our best pass rusher blows an achilles.
Fuck it all!

Moving on to sculpture here we have “Monday Morning Dolfan”
This sculpture represents what Dolfans feel like on Monday morning after the game.
Who knew they ate so much corn?

Here is another depiction of the Dolphin fan experience: “Boulevard of Broken Dolfans”
Just your average Dolphin Bar.
On the TV screen Tanny is sacked. Thankfully the lady with the shotgun’s has not stained the television with her blood, so you can enjoy the misery of the 2015 Dolfans while she blows her head off.
The other patrons deal with suicide in their own way while watching the Dolphins.
How did the guy on the bar off himself? Pills? Poison? Heart Attack?
The artists wants us to think – How do I want to kill myself when the Dolphins play?
The possibilities are limitless!

This is “The Scream on 3rd and 6”
This painting is classic expressionism. This is what is going on on the mind of the offensive coordinator on 3rd and 6.
On first down he called a WR scene and picked up two yards. On 2nd down he ran a running play out of the shotgun and picked up two yards.
Now what? PANIC!!! ARhhhhhhh! Its 3rd and 6 again.
Oh fuck it just throw a 4 yard pass and hope the receiver breaks a tackle for the first down…
It took me a while to figure this one out. Its called “Grimes Covers”
If you look closely you can see Brent Grimes covering a wide receiver on a deep pass.
Still can’t see it?
Look closer…
See it?
Me neither…
its nowhere to be found…just like the real Brent Grimes covering a wide receiver on deep passes in 2015.

This one is a just called “Dolphins”
It’s gritty realism. This is what the Miami Dolphins say to you every season.

I don’t hope they all of a sudden find pride now. I hope they suck and lose the next the 2 games, if I’m going to be honest.
I want a high pick
I just don’t want the team to be embarssed
It would be cool to lose both of our final games but end Brady’s season
Vernon – you have your assignment
Wont do us much good to win the last two, but i still would lie to see better effort out of all parties involved. To me pride is a big deal in football, and id like them to show some in their play now that it doesnt matter. Some players will still go all out even when there is nothing to gain for it, thats the kind of players i want.
Mike BTW, your insistence on defending Tanny is misplaced man. I have said i dont think the team helped him any, but i also think things well within his control were fails this year too. You cant scream for fairness in evaluating the entire teams performance and its effect on Tanny without also examining Tannys performance and its effect on the team. It is what it is, and he like many others did not earn their paychecks this year. I haven’t written him off like you have so many others you weren’t impressed with so IMO where is the same fairness from you and some of the other Tanny supporters are. I also find it funny that you guys are quick to blame the HC for the coordinators failures because he is the captain of the coaching staff and cant apply the same logic to the captain of the offense. Just sayin.
By better effort I assume breaking Tom Brady’s legs will suffice?
Show pride, just don’t win. lol

It’s not as deep as pass rusher as the draft has been
I hear good things about a bosa and Buckner (who is huge)
And at DB o think heargraves and Ramsey are the top Dbs
And at lb the notre same lb
So there are at least 5 players that are really being talked up defensively
I know I like Ramsey a lot
And heargraves too
But I haven’t seen enough of them
There Are probably going to be good DEs in the 2nd and 3rd round though
Maybe better than Vernon (former 3rd) was for us
————————————-
Repeating Pig’s comment cause of the page turn.
Thanks for the info, even if it seems the news on what might be available for our needs is not as good as it could be…….but know how how judgments may change over the next months.
First reaction is that our draft position seems even more key than I thought in just theory.
Second reaction is — FU Dion Jordan. How different it would be if we got what we thought we were paying for.
I think we have a good shot at an impact player
By the the the draft gets here I will probably covet many of the first rounds prospects
And I do think there are plenty of players to be found when you get into day 2 and day 3
The thing is
I want guys that are ready to contribute
And I think you need bigger schools guy that are healthy to get that impact
So that gets a little tricky
“I want guys that are ready to contribute
And I think you need bigger schools guy that are healthy to get that impact”
Seems that mainly depends on whether we are in blow it up mode or not. And who knows if we will be or not. Given we have Tanny and Suh I don’t want it, but we could be.
D
My point is brother, Tanny hasn’t been as bad as you would think by reading this blog. You would think he’d have more INT’s than TD’s, and only completing 50% of his passes by reading about Tanny here on this blog. I don’t know how else to say it. He’s just a drop off of last year, and our team is much worse than last year, so to me, that’s vindication. You can disagree, and that’s fine, that’s how I se it man.
D
Tannehill is the captain of the offense, but he doesn’t call the plays, and it was verified that he didn’t even have the authority to change to different plays on audibles, so if he didn’t have the freedom, is that his fault?
That crap offense needs to be scrapped.
Mike
I don’t understand why you always look at Tannys numbers as how he has played
Brent Grimes has 4 interceptions this year and no one defends him when people say he is bad in 2015
Tanny is much worse than last year, you can see it in the field
It’s. It a minor drop off IMO
It might be a slump
But he doesn’t even do the things he used to do good well anymore
The only good thing I can say about Tanny is he is tough
Last year I only saw a few weaknesses
This year I see a ton
His deep ball has improved
He looked closer last year to being a franchise qb than he does now
Last year’s team early on was better than this year’s team. This year’s team looked like the same team we saw last 6 games of the season last year.
Going back to the last 6 games last year and this season, this team is 7-13 last 20 games.
I watch the games too, and I see the same thing week in week out. Very poor pass protection, times when we run the ball well and then completely go away from it, these ridiculous 5 wide sets when our 5 OL are incapable of protecting the QB. I see him play poorly sometimes, but I can say that most times when we run the ball well, he plays better, and logically so. I don’t know what you see, but that’s what I see. I also see a lot of dropped passes, which doesn’t help any. I also see waaaaay too many screen passes. Holy cow, it’s like the guy can’t throw the ball beyond the LOS. C’mon!
Fans here have questioned coaching up and down and sideways and they’ve also questioned some of the personnel. But when it comes to Tannehill, that all goes out the window and you can’t do that. It’s all connected.
People were blaming the scheme when Suh wasn’t playing well and started making up scheme change rumors when that was never the case. They ran the same defense they always did. With Tannehill nothing else matters except for him. I’ve watched it said all season.
Emmanuel Ogbah and Shaq Lawson are two highly rated DE prospects.
Worst thing I read today is from Abramson (probably for Hickey too). I’d at least like us to explore all options……and not like Ross hasn’t been attracted to big names in FA or jumped on a plane to the West Coast before.
————————
“It’s hard to see a scenario where Tannenbaum doesn’t get at least a second season in Miami. So he will likely be working hand-in-hand with Ross to find a new coach.
It’ll be interesting to see what happens with GM Dennis Hickey and if he survives past the draft. Hickey is not Tannenbaum’s guy so it’s easy to see the Dolphins going in a different direction.”
Yeah we’ve discussed this before. It depends on what Tannenbaum thinks of Hickey.
Or it possibly might not depend on Tannenbaum at at all. I could see a scenario where he stays on as Ross’ eyes in even though we have a HC with full power in every way.
Piggy
Numbers don’t really lie. DB’s also have negative stats, like receptions allowed, and I know Grimes is way up in that. Tanny’s TD’s are a little down, but the INT’s are just slightly up. Sacks are up, and I’ll admit sometimes he holds the ball too long, or doesn’t recognize when a guy is unblocked, and it seems like he has no awareness, I’ll give you that, but he’s not throwing INT’s all over the field. The Grimes comparison was a bad one, because you don’t just look at INT’s when it comes to a DB.
He doesn’t turn the ball over much
I think that is a strength of his as well
Stanger, there are a few scenarios that can go down at the top. I really have no idea what we’re going to do.
And that is why what will happen is this far as you and I am concerned.

I for one hope Mike T is gone after this season, but I think that’s unrealistic. I just feel like it would be best to get a different perspective on how to fix this mess. I’d love Bill Polian to be an advisor, but I doubt that’s in the cards.
Piggy
Grimes was actually playing pretty well early in the season. He really fell off a cliff in the 2nd half of the season
I agree
But people have ripped into him
And no one defends him like they defend Tanny
https://twitter.com/ravens/status/679335285252038657
Didn’t we get in trouble for this sort of thing
Yes but Heath Evans hasn’t finished gargling on John Harbaugh’s balls enough yet to chime in on why it’s not the same.
I just think it funny that looks like the official Ravens site putting the bill out.
Tim & Mike
The thing with tannehill is in spite of all those other problems
When he has had opportunities – he hasn’t performed well
And you can’t tell me he doesn’t have chances to deliver
He just doesn’t
I can go down the roster and point out sub par performances from every player on this team during this season. I’ve said RT has under performed at times this year. Most players on the team have. That’s why we’re 5-9.
Piggy
There’s so much more at stake with Tannehill. That’s just the reality of the situation. Grimes is 32 and likely in his last couple of years, Tannehill is our franchise QB. Maybe I’m stubbornly holding out hope that he can be even better with the right people in charge here, and we can be a playoff team. I do believe that, really believe it, but heck, I could be wrong.
I don’t think there really are complete blow it up modes anymore. The way the cap is set up and how often personnel changes every year, now teams seem to be willing to sacrifice a season to retool and then try to get back on track the following season. We’re not blowing it up with Suh, Tannehill and Pouncey signed up. Whatever the power structure will be, they’re still going to try and upgrade the team. The only real blow up will be within the FO and coaching staff, not so much the roster with the exception of trying to upgrade personnel. We’re not going to have a fire sale.
Tim
If I were GM, I would try and trade Suh. I would definitely take a 1st RD pick and another pick for him. That would clear cap space and get us a couple more young players.
Good luck with that. Here’s your first GM gift for your desk.

LOL! That’s a fine lookin’ Unicorn, if I must say so!
It’s very majestic. LOL
Piggy, more execution has to happen for Tannehill to have success than Grimes in coverage. RT relies on more moving parts to be where they’re suppose to be than it does with Grimes. There are times when it’s just Grimes and the guy he’s covering, mano-a-mano. RT needs protection, proper routes run, his accuracy with the ball, a catch and run. Lots of avenues for bad things to happen if some of that doesn’t execute. And obviously the QB position is under a magnifying glass.
I know this is old school thinking but victim and turning her in? Dudes!!! WTF?!!!! LOL
http://www.cbsnews.com/news/former-teacher-haeli-noelle-wey-arrested-over-alleged-relationships-with-teens/
Victims? Wow! I wish I was that lucky to be a victim like that.
The I would have loved it when I was in school
But if you think about the irresponsible decision you used to make as a teenager, and how naive teenagers are about consequences – she is taking advantage of them
She probably is dying to get pregnant or soemthing
The I…lol
Maybe she just likes to bang.
Are you now referring to yourself in the 3rd person as The I? LOL
Geezer bias
What if our OL was better
What if we ran the ball
What if we played consistent defense and held teams to under 20 points a game
What do you see with Tannehill that makes you beleive he will deliver
I dont see him make plays when he has chances
I saw improvement each year he was in the league besides this year. Can you not look at the big picture? Is it only what he’s done this season with this bad team? Even Colin Kaepernick played well with good coaching, and without it, we saw how bad he can be. Some people here think Tannehill should be replaced, I’m not one of them
I don’t say replaced
Not now
One year is a problem
Twice is a trend
So I think he has 2016 to prove himself
And contractually that works well
But I think other players are taking the fall for his shortcomings now
Tanny avoids any blame for his flaws
But people still are going to blame some one
And they do – just not Tanny
I mean imagine if you are 16 years old
You sleep with your older teacher
She gets pregnant
She wants to keep the baby
You get hit with alimony payments
And you can’t go to college
Can’t do anything else with your life except for make sure the alimony is paid
As old men…lol…we know we can pass it up if it’s going to cost us our lives
As a high school boy I would not even think that way
Nah, you pull out and glaze her silly.
Lmao
Tim
If she just likes to bang
She can find an 18 year old in any bar
No consequences to that
I think people like her look for vulnerable targets and I know when I was that age I would humped the wind if I could…lol
LMAO!!!
I admit I think it’s different with older guys and under-aged girls. But older women and under-age dudes I say Nice!!!! LOL
LMAO @ Tim!
Han Solo dog
LOL, I see the resemblance.
I wasn’t too down on Tannehill until the Ravens game. That was one really bad game. The whole team was awful against the Chargers but he didn’t have a chance that game which is mind blowing. A 3-10 team completely destroys us in all phases. Im hoping for 2 straight losses because these players suck, the coaches suck, and so does the FO. This team needs dismantled.
The chargers game didn’t affect my opinion
I think the entire team phone it in
I doubt the last 3 games do anything to affect my opinion
Same. Tannehill really didnt have an NCAAF level OL this last game.
Mike, the Mets signed OF Alejandro De Aza to platoon with Lagares.
Damn – I was hoping we’d sign Parra. Oh well.
Can someone in here post the link to the Google Spreadsheet containing the W-L predictions we made prior to the season?
Lol
If you read them backwards we are all spot on
Things I want to see as the Fins close out this dissappointing season:
Lippett with extended playing time
Cedric Thompson on the active roster + playing time
SUH at DE
Douglas at C
I want to see Thompson
The most exciting part of the charger game was seeing Lippett, Parker and Ajayi consistently
I was excited about Lippett
He didn’t look good
But I think we can all expect some bumps
I want to see
More Lippett in the final 2 games
While we are at it, Misi back in the middle and someone else on the outside (Vigil or whoever else)
Piggy,
So what’s the link? 🙂
Last thing about the Dolphins defense…
When your safety is the leading tackler on the team, you know your LB suck major dick.
I don’;t really care if we see Ajayi unless we really dont want Miller back.
I’m anticipating Miller not returning. If I were GM i would not sign Miller at a high price; RB are not worth it and only if you are a bum like Ireland can you wiff on a RB in the draft anywhere before RD 6.
If Mike Shanahan comes to town; Miller certainly not coming back if his agent asks for $ (Shanahan doesn’t pay for RB; he finds cheap ones in the draft that can do it all for him).
M13 would go crazy if we hired Shanahan
Well he already hates Ross , King Karl and Tannebaum so this would complete the Four Horsemen. LOL
LOL – I think Shanahan would send him over the edge. He really hates Shanahan
Not sure why he hates Shanahan so much to be honest.
The situation in Washington kind of blew up in Shanahan’s face but he had friction with Snyder. RG3 didn’t work out for him but then again time showed that RG3 himself had a bad attitude with teammates and such. Mike was able to maximize Jake Plummer & Brian Griese while in Denver, post Elway days. Mike also showed he can draft a RB anywhere -> Terrell Davis, Alfred Morris, etc. Lastly, Mike still can hang his hat on 2 SB championships; something only 3 active coaches have done -> Coughlin, Belichick, & Tomlin.
so you guys and gal finally solve who sucks more, the qb or the rest of the team, yet?
Al,
I also wouldn’t worry about resigning Miller. He’s nothing special, and you don’t need to spend big on RB…..especially if you’re only gonna run them 15 times a game. Money can be better spent elsewhere.
Now Miller isn’t anything special? I know I’m a homer but I do think he is. The current coaches won’t be here to not use him. LOL
In this era of 2 prong RB attacks; I’m not in favor of paying a guy the value of playing all 3 downs.
Rob
Josh Norman says OBJ sucks more
FFR,
Judging by the Vikings success; seems the D needs fixing first.
Tim,
What has Miller done to suggest he’s anything special? I know they haven’t used him well, but what’s he done? Saying he’s nothing special isn’t the same as saying he sucks…and yes…you’re a homer. Lol
His numbers are good but then again, is he different than Chris Johnson who Arizona basically scraped off the FA list at a cheap cost? No.
Chunk yards on a regular basis, breaking long runs now, running more physical and improved receiving skills. I really don’t want to spend much more time debating this, I think he’s one of the more talented backs in the league not being utilized. I don’t consider his skills a dime a dozen

what has he done to say he isnt?
al,
i think it was piggy a few weeks ago that said use the whole draft on def. i think the next two drafts should be used one on def and then the next one all offense. or vice versa
Wyo,
Looks like “The Realist” was spot on LOL
ffr
Doesn’t a guy kinda have to actually do something to suggest he’s special? Or, do we just slap that tag on players because we like how it sounds? Hell, around here guys are HOFers before they take a snap. lol
Watching his talents tells me this. I’ve watched him get better and better every year. Miller is very talented. I don’t know many backs with as quick a first step as he has and now he’s improved his long distance speed. He also leads all RBs in yards after contact. That probably surprises you.
So basically unless you coin a guy a special talent, we’re all just homers and exaggerators for thinking that? LOL
Wyo,
Looks like “The Realist” was spot on with his analysis LOL
Rumor also was that Mike Shanahan liked Tannehill over RGIII. LOL
Yep. If Shanahan liked Jake Plummer; i’m sure he sees similar things in RT with respect with using his mobility.
Damn, sorry for repeating my post but this page keeps hanging at times.
Tim,
To each their own. I prefer a player proves he’s something special over a period of years. Miller simply hasn’t had the opportunities, but given the opportunities he’s had, he doesn’t really stand out amongst his peers. Plus, who’s to say how he responds to a heavier workload? It’s most likely that his numbers level out with more carries. He’s only had over 200 carries once in his 4 years. Again, not his fault, but it tends to skew the data. He has never had to maintain those numbers late in the season with 350 carries on his body. I don’t think he’s a bad player….I just don’t see special. You do…that’s fine.
I see a guy with ability to do more when he has the ball than a lot of other RB’s so my eval of him is based on seeing a guy with rare attributes. He seems like a little more power based LeSean McCoy to me, and i do think in the right system with the right compliment back, he could really prove me right. Im not sure his best move is to stay in Miami, though i really want him to. We should make a strong commitment to re-signing him and if it doesnt work out, make sure we invest in a solid selection in the draft.
even if Miller can’t take more than 15 carries a game
He can split carries with Ajyayi and we can have more than a dozen runs a game
Miller is not a bruiser
but I think he can have a lot more carries than he has
and probably become a bigger factor int he passing game too
I think you are wrong about him not standing out
he average 4.9 yards a carry
that is tied for 7th in the NFL
but some of those guys are QBs and guys that are used primarily on 3rd down
The only guy that really does moe with his opportunities consistently is doug martin whi is having a fantastic year. Thomas Rawls too

**************
I did say that
and I really like that idea
it doesn’t always work out so smoothly b/c needs happen
but defense focus in 2016
then offense focus in 2017
the guys get used to play with each other and look better as a result
Robert Nkemdiche will b a beast, and with his off field shit recently probably has cost himself a few draft points. He is still my number 2 on my big board. Lawson is great too though, both guys are really big fast, athletic and givfted at the position. Nkemdiche has the upside of also being able to slide inside and play DT to five some extra flexibility on formations. I dont think we could go worng on either of those two. I still think Hargreaves is the best person on the board for us and i consider CB a bigger hole, even with the prospect of losing Wake and Vernon in the same year. I wouldnt neglect DE, and i would have a selection of one in the first two rounds. My dream would be for us to be able to get Hargreaves and Nkemdiche in the same draft, if for some reasons people shy away from Nkemdiche because of his recent off field shit. Lawson im afraid is doing nothing but solidifying a mid 1st round pick for himself when before he was a late second early third guy. You also have Carl Lawson from Auburn as another possibility in the second and he is athletic enough to play OLB in our system too.
I hear Shaq Lawson in the 20s or so
Carl Lawson and Shawn Oakman are starting to shape up as 2nd round material and I have my eye on those 2
wedge already did scouting reports for Carl Lawson, shaq Lawson and Shawn Oakman
randy,
i have no idea if miller is special. i was just making fun of the little the team uses him by saying how do you know he isnt special.
as far as my opinion, can only go by what i see, when they use him extensively he produces. but i dont know if he would last a season, rush for 7583 yards, or get hurt the second game he got more then 20 carries in a game. i think it is very unfair to label a guy that hasnt been giving a chance.
He has consistently put up high YPA numbers. Using him more might normalize those numbers but i feel strongly even at high use he would avg more than 4YPC, if you averaged that on a 22 carries a game, he would average 88 YPG, 16 games, 1400+ a season. Thats a beast these days. Only question i really have is if he could hold up under those conditions band we wont know that because we will never use him that much. Even at 18 YPC, his numbers would be close to 1200 yards a season and would definately warrant keeping.
18 rushes a game.
piggy,
i like it cause it should strengthen either side they go with first. then hopefully if they draft well, which we all know their history, if they draft well that side of the football maybe good enough to carry the other side for a few wins. right now neither side of the ball are good enough to do that
The thing is
maybe at least one side of the ball plays better right away that way if we draft well…..lol
right now nothing is working
Al
I think Boulder knows the link so if you see him around ask him to post it
Piggy,
Like I said to Tim, it’s hard to evaluate Miller when he’s only carried the ball about 170 times. I doubt he maintains those numbers if his carries are up around 300. Also, if he’s just gonna be one half of a 2 back system, why pay him big money? I’m fine with resigning him, but he hasn’t earned a big payday, to me. If others wanna spend big on him…I really don’t care.
I don’t know what defines a big payday for a RB
even the top RBs don’t rival other positions
we really need to get in the happen of keeping players that have been good for us
and reducing the turnover on the team
and if there is one free agent that earned it – I think its Miller, more than Vernon IMO
I think generally the 2 back system is the way to go
even when you have a top tier RB
I like players like Gurley
but I’m sure Fisher is going to kill him….lol
So I don’t view it as an indictment on the player
Miller & Ajayi as a combo coming into 2015 would give us one less thing to worry about
D,
i have no idea, was just answering randy if the guy is special or not. i dont think one can say either way since we havent been giving the chance to see what he can do or not do
D,
All I’m saying is that until…or if…Miller gets 350 carries a year, we won’t know how he’ll perform? I’m jus against going RBs big money.
Not likely to happen since only 3 RBs have had over 300 touches the last two seasons. Murray at 392 and McCoy 312 in 2014, and McCoy 312 and Lynch 301 in 2013. Peterson and Martin are the only two backs with a shot at 300 this year.
Miller runs a lot more physical then he’s given credit for.
ffr
Exactly, I never said he couldn’t be special. I simply said he hasn’t shown that he is up to this point. Others see it differently, so be it. We’ll ultimately find out one way or another as his career plays out.
Randy,
Your thoughts on Missouri C Evan Boehm? I like him as a C/OG draft pick.
Pig,
Wyo already posted the link for me ….
Seems The Realist was the most accurate LOL
Piggy,
DE has more value than RB in the nfl by default…
As much as I complain at times about Vernon’s consistency, it’s hard to ignore what he’s doing down the stretch. He’s cresting and should be a priority signing in consideration of what is going on with that position on this team.
Yeah
but that will affect price tag too
Keeping Vernon will probably cost more than keeping Miller
I think Miller has shown he’s near the top or at the top of YPC every year. As far as how many carries he gets, that’s out of his control. It’s not like he tired out and they ran Ajayi 15 times after they pulled him in those games, we just stop running inexplicably. That being said, I don’t think it’s wise to pay too much for a RB. Maybe if he wants to stay here, he’ll work with us, but I would guess he would only do that with guarantees from the new staff that he’ll get more carries.
Not sure we have to pay him too much being that we never gave him a chance to put up big numbers.
http://overthecap.com/position/running-back/
Tim,
I agree with that. I thought Miller ran tentatively his first few years(que the OL hate! Lol), but I liked how he ran this year…more physical….more decisive.
Yeah I think he’s improved his overall game and is entering his prime. He’ll only be 25 in April and he’s only averaged 12.1 touches per season. SMH
Tim,
Isn’t it amazing how the NFL has changed? 20 carries a game is 320 for the season. It really points to the emphasis on the passing game now. Hence why QB is so damned important….I hate it. Lol
Correction on my part, those were rushes not touches. But your point is still relevant. I really don’t like today’s game. Rules that favor the offense, nobody can play real physical defense, and the refs basically play their own game.
Al,
I haven’t even begun looking at potential draft picks. I do have a bias against Missouri OLmen though. Lol
Tim
So what do you think Miller would get (ask for)? $4-5M per?
Maybe. He doesn’t have that monster season to dangle in front of teams even if teams feel he could do it.

Try, 18 teams have losing records and 3 are .500. That seems like a lot to me.
Tim,
Not sure I understand what you are saying here..,
He’s saying it’s not Tannehill’s fault. JKJBBLOLOLOL
The disparity seems worse than I remember in the past.
Catching up on the blog today.
LOL @ Piggy using the same argument to justify Suh that the ‘Tanneholics’ supporters use to justify Tanny.
Rock on flying pig man, rock on. 😀
Suhie, duh! LOL
Ohh, right….lol 😉
Mike E,
$5 mill minimum..
My guess is in that 5-7 mill range …but average means shit anyway; it’s all about negotiating guaranteed money then figuring out how to allocate it across the cap with contract length (to spread the signing bonus) and base salary structure in YR 1 (how much to allocate in YR 1 to relieve putting a large amount in the bonus which creates dead cap issues).
It would be nice to find a creative contract for Miller while we still have Ajayi for 3 more years on a rookie salary.
As Piggy mentioned Vernon will cost a lot more than Miller due to the position. So I’d stand pat on our RB’s & look at other options @ DE.
I’d say probably the 4-5 range.
Hey D if you’re still around are you going to the senior bowl this year?
Not sure but I hear he’s going to the senior prom.
With his 28 YO home economics teacher
Al,
One name for you just because I have seen him a few times. La’Raven Clark, Texas Tech. Probably a guard in NFL but has played LT. Nice versatility. Good feet. Good size. Good strength. Stays on the field. Average athleticism. And, solid value if he can be had in the 2-3 rounds.
I mentioned him first yesterday. Too late. He can be had in the 4th possibly.
Ya know what truly sucks? It’s that there are that many shitty teams in the league, and we still can’t win fricking games! How damn bad are we?!
But we do have the distinction of the #1 bad scheme on both sides of the ball & still got 5 wins, so there’s that to be proud of.
Bad! The good thing is, if we finished 8-8 or 7-9, we’d be drafting in the 15- 20 range
Mike E,
This was written in late OCT

Thanks Al
Tim,
4-5 mill per gets you Shane Vereen, Ryan Matthews, CJ Spiller type guys. If that is what Lamar miller is, then so be it.
The next level is in the range where backs have had big time seasons. he’s going to get paid more than he has been, but I don’t think it will be outrageous.
GDP / Randy,
What about the next Matthews OL down at TAMU?
GDP
Suh is actually playing well
so the same argument for him makes sense
Tanny is not playing well
If people were as patient with Suh as they have been for Tanny, we should not even hear Suh’s name disucssed
Vernon’s production scares me. Yes, he gets hurries, but he’s not getting the number of sacks you want from your weak side edge rusher. He’s way down the rankings in sacks. As I’ve said, I would try to keep him on the team, but is he truly worth, say, $8M a year? I’d say no…and go out and draft his replacement in the 1st round. We need more from our edge rushers.
I would probably let Vernon test the market
but if he was affordable, I would make an effort to keep him
gdp
My bad! You were first. But, to be fair, did you mention this when I was on one of my Tanny rants? Not fair expecting me to notice anything else said when I’m frothing at the mouth! Lol
Randy
I agree with you on Vernon
Ditto!

Dolphins re-signing guard Shelley Smith. Placing Koa Misi and Chris McCain on injured reserve.
What’s wrong with Misi?

Dolphins also re-signed linebacker James-Michael Johnson, center/guard Jacques McClendon.
Al,
I didn’t even know there was another Mathews playing for TAMU. I’d bet on the bloodline though.
Al, you mean the Germain kid from A&M? He’s been both a RT & LT as of late with them. He’s as tall as Alber 6’5 but has a big wide base @ 325lb. He’s an early 1st rd pick, so I’d be more inclined to go with Jack Conklin if available @ #7..
Misi on IR, well he almost made a full season this time around.
I’m waiting for us to sign Shelley Hack to play G. We might as well. lol
Maybe Shelley Duvall
Olive Oyl? How’s he gonna fill the gaps with that twig body?
I rememer her more for her role in the Shining.
Piggy
Suh isn’t playing like the best DT in football, but he’s paid like it.
Shelley Duvall gets out of her stance very quickly, and engages the defender immediately. She has good balance, and redirects well. lol
She also knows how to get around creepy hotels.
LOL! She’s pretty damn resilient too.
Mike E, you getting the idea that Piggy wants to go white water rafting with Suh? LOL
LOL, oh boy here we go.
I kinda do. Maybe Son and Cammy can go too. lol
MikeE,
Plus she survived the Poseiden Adventure, so she’s tough! Lol
Oops, I was thinking of Shelley Winters.
She survived as a flotation device.
Randy
Shelley Winters died in the Poseidon Adventure. Wanna hear something funny? I always thought Shelley Winters was married to Jonathan Winters. No shit, I’m serious,. lol
C’mon now, Jonathan didn’t have that much a sense of humor.
There are rumors Johnathan Winters may have been more interested in Shelley’s husbands. LOL

I hear Shaq Lawson in the 20s or so
Carl Lawson and Shawn Oakman are starting to shape up as 2nd round material and I have my eye on those 2
wedge already did scouting reports for Carl Lawson, shaq Lawson and Shawn Oakman

This next years draft is deep at OT and DE, really solid 2-3 rounds of selections.
OLB is pretty stacked too.
Tim
Is that right about Jonathan Winters?
Yeah there were a lot more actors back in the day rumored to be gay. I came across an article awhile ago. Marlon Brando and Merv Griffin etc.

A little sunshine . . .
This is what i think of when i think Shelley Duvall.

Shelley Winters was the fat old lady in Poseidon Adventure, the original. The former Gymnast that saved the day doing some sort of acrobatic feat that someone of her age/size would have had zero chance of doing lol.
LOL

Literally just heard a bunch of my employees joking about that.
You should do a fart noise. I like the puns they use in the article. LOL
Tim, I guess she doesn’t appreciate a good strong dutch oven.
