Game Day – Colts @ Dolphins

Capture

I hope everyone had a great Christmas and had lots of good times with friends and family.  Or at least had some good liquor to get through it.  If the latter is the case I hope you’ve still got some at hand.  It’s game day and usually that calls for some heavy drinking to numb the senses to watch as the Dolphins play their brand of football.

Let’s Go Dolphins.

The Titans are a likely landing place for Kelly to be reunited with his boy Mariota. After that don’t work, then back to college level.

  2. wyoming85 says:

    He’ll end up @ Texas

  3. wyoming85 says:

Pondering how Kelly’s offense will look in Miami?

  4. Ken says:

I would be surprised if he is in the NFL next season. I think there will be some reluctance to hire him so quick

  5. getterdone says:

    Gil Brandt ✔ @Gil_Brandt
Most receptions in 1st 2 seasons in NFL history:

    Jarvis Landry 188
    Odell Beckham 182
    Marques Colston168
    A.J. Green 162

Cue the but Tannehill just throws him lil inaccurate dump offs that don’t lead him open.

    • Tim Knight says:

I do wish his YPCA was higher and I think it could be in an offense that executes slants and crossing routes more than friggin bubble screens. Landry loses people in coverage with sharp routes.

    Adam Beasley @AdamHBeasley
If the Dolphins hire Kelly, it would be the Fish and Chip Show! /#sadtrombone

  7. Randy says:

The Great Baldinger just said: “It’s about the players.” Nuff said.

@OmarKelly u surprised chip Kelly got fired?

    Omar Kelly ✔ @OmarKelly
Not really. Coaches with massive egos usually run out their welcome quickly.

another example of why the HC should not be the Personnel guy.

  10. son of a son of a shula says:

Randy do you mean the players that are all pissed off because the qb can’t hit the ocean from a boat in the fourth quarter?
    Lol

Congrats to our 2016 Pro Bowl Cheerleader, @MDC_BrittanyM!

There is no question we have thrown the ball a lot the past 4 years…some would say too much. That leads to numbers/stats by the sheer number of times you threw it. Throw the ball 500+ times a year, and you get yards…completions…blah, blah, blah. You also get a nice little bump in your completion % when you throw a lot of bubble screens and 5-7 yard passes. We need to throw less….diminish Tannehill’s role in the offense…and gain better balance. All those stats are fine, but they aren’t leading to wins. If they led to TDs, then they’d mean something. It’s not necessarily a good thing Landry has caught that many balls.

I’d rather see Landry catch about 120 balls his first two years and be part of a balanced offense. Besides, it seems like Tannehill refuses to throw the ball to anybody BUT Landry in lots of games, so I’m guessing he’s had about 3 gajillion targets. Lol

    • getterdone says:

I was screaming for more rushing for awhile. I know it helps an offense for any team.

    • son of a son of a shula says:

We got a TD in the last game what more do you want. It’s our defense that sucks

    • getterdone says:

You know, run & be able to stop the run. Win the trench wars were it all starts on both sides.
We failed miserably in the trench wars, hence the defeat of our troops.

      Next question? (points to Omar)

    • Tim Knight says:

104 receps on 154 targets for Landry. Tanny has 548 attempts so Landry is targeted 28% of the time.

We’ve thrown 550 times and rushed it 310. Miller has 175-812 4.6 and 8 TD. I wonder what his numbers would look like if he was around 250 rushes?

  13. Rockphin says:

Hey OD, I have a History question. Did the Dolphins give up TWO first round picks for Shula? I was researching Dolphins picks through our history and noticed that we had no 1st round picks in 70 & 71 after Shula was acquired.

  14. Rockphin says:

Randy, you are a little off on your target guess. It is 265 targets with 188 receptions and 104 first downs.

  15. Randy says:

They have probowl cheerleaders? I had no idea. Where do I go to view pictures for a few weeks and vote?

  16. son of a son of a shula says:

Tim wtf is an idiot store?

  17. getterdone says:

Tim, if Miller had around 250 rushes his numbers would look like a couple more millions in guaranteed money for whoever signs him to be their bell cow back.
    I’m thinking NYG or Dallas.

  18. D says:

Spencer drago kid, LT for Baylor looks pretty solid. Really good body lean, strong upper body, good punch, not sort speedy but I think he,s an OG in pros anyways. Arms look to short for LT. Hasn’t really been beat by anyone does rushing him but I think a NFL caliber died rusher would give him some trouble

  19. D says:

GD you should have said cue the “just think how good his numbers would be with a good QB throwing to him” 🙂

  20. D says:

I’m watching he and Landon Turner right now

  21. D says:

Omg the Baylor TE is fucking HUGE

  22. D says:

Drango isn’t overly fast for a LT. He would be plenty quick enough to play OG though

    • Tim Knight says:

That’s what they said about Turner and he’s struggled in pass pro inside. if we draft a guard it has to be a guy that is really good or at least has been a guard most of the time. I’d rather sign a solid FA guard who is ascending, has started a bunch of games and has played well. then let the three young guys we have compete for one job and start there. We need better depth at tackle too. But we also need to get 5-6 consistently playing together which has yet to happen for a quite a few years now.

  23. Tim Knight says:

Our pass/rush ratio is .64 to .36. We average 57.3 plays per game which is low and directly related to not running the ball more and controlling the game and what we want to do. I always feel like we’re playing in panic mode even when it’s 10-10. LOL

That is the place where George is the all time seller….

  25. son of a son of a shula says:

600 yards rushing just tonight that’s unbelievable

  26. Ken says:

    New blog post up.

  27. getterdone says:

Bills place FA bust Charles Clay on IR ending his season.

  28. D says:

Landon Turner is hard to evaluate. He just has so much of a size advantage over there Baylor DT its hard to see exactly how good he is. Here seems really slow though. Huge dude.
