Game Day – Patriots @ Dolphins

Capture

Last game of the season.  It turned out a lot different than what we all had hoped for a few short months ago.  Even though it won’t matter, I hope they manage to somehow pull off a miracle and win this game.  It would make this long off season ahead a little easier.

For those who are observant, you’ll notice the record is wrong, I set this up at the same time as last weeks game.  It’s hard to whip up much enthusiasm so I thought I’d go ahead and get it out of the way.  We probably lost last week anyway.

Let’s Go Dolphins.

Keep those feet moving Miller and that’s a TD

  8. The Flying Pig's avatar The Flying Pig says:

I’m not giving Brady a chance to win the game with one drive

  33. New Age's avatar New Age says:

I wouldn’t keep Campbell unless he brought 2 good coordinators to the interview. It’s really all about which coach can bring in the best staff. I don’t see how Campbell can.

  37. bookman11's avatar bookman11 says:

Here is the irony…..The Pats are the team everyone in the division is gunning for, and the team the Fins beat most consistently in the division….too bad we can’t play as consistently against the other teams

What’s so confusing? Did he not inherit a crappy staff with a flawed scheme on both sides of the ball?
Getting him a solid experienced staff doesn’t mean Campbell doesn’t have to do anything…c’mon.

  45. Ken's avatar Ken says:

    No to keeping Campbell

  46. Rhino's avatar Rhino says:

    Draft pick range
    best 7th
    worst 10th
Hargreaves is definitely in play in that range… maybe a Jaylon Smith who recovers just fine.

  47. Mike E.'s avatar Mike E. says:

Saw a lot of things I liked today from the team. Spunky performance by Tannehill, some real nice plays from Parker, Lippett. In general, a nice team effort. Shame we had to wait this long to see it, but it was fun watching us kick the shit out of the Patriots. On the other hand, nearly as fun watching the Jets implode against the Bills, in a very end of year playoff on the line “Dolphins like choke”.

  48. Rockphin's avatar Rockphin says:

When Tannehill doesn’t show leadership, again this offseason, and doesn’t organize workouts with his receivers again this offseason, those two (and Stills probably too) are going to get real good working with, the non-leader, Tannehill

  49. D's avatar D says:

I’m sorta glad we won. I mean it didn’t do anything for us but dropping draft spots, but it was nice to see them play well for once, and was nice to see them sick it to the pats, potentially choosing then home field advantage.

  50. naplesfan2010's avatar naplesfan2010 says:

If we had played like this all year …. and the shit is, we could’ve.

  51. finfanrob's avatar finfanrob says:

    D

did i miss something, where did anyone all of a sudden say tanny has pocket presence?

  52. New Age's avatar New Age says:

If Broncos win, who has to play in the wild card round? Anyone know?

  53. getterdone's avatar getterdone says:

FFR, I said it. When he has a pocket that is.

  54. finfanrob's avatar finfanrob says:

this was like the first game campbell coached they were playing with a lot of emotion. they need to start playing with a lot of skill and not just emotion

  55. naplesfan2010's avatar naplesfan2010 says:

draft pick will be somewhere between 8 and 11 pending a few more outcomes … in other words I love it that we BEAT the pasties* and knock them out of first seed

  56. getterdone's avatar getterdone says:

New Age, I think the Pats would play Steelers in first round.

  57. finfanrob's avatar finfanrob says:

    D

well come on, that is GD. he loves him some tanny. but to make the comment like it is being said he has pocket presence wasnt accurate. i get some on here are one side or the other to the extreme but i think most know tanny is average and has flaws, like the rest of the team

  58. finfanrob's avatar finfanrob says:

    naples

and we see how much skill the fins have, just enough to win if it is some emotional big game. they cant rely on that week in and week out. they need to get more skill

  59. naplesfan2010's avatar naplesfan2010 says:

Brady 12/21 for 134 and 0 TDs due to a leaky line and gettin hit constantly.
That is average to below average. What if he led the league in getting sacked?

  60. stangerx's avatar stangerx says:

I love this team, but somehow they beat are archrivals who won the division and will get a bye and we still screwed up. I’ll take it though…..good feel. 🙂

  61. finfanrob's avatar finfanrob says:

    getter

i disagree, tanny is not above average. he has proven over and over he is average on an average team. now can he be above average, yeah i think so if the rest of the team becomes above average.

  62. D's avatar D says:

Tannehill hasn’t crossed over from average yet. I thought he would this year but instead he declined and a lot of it is outside how the rest of the team has affected him. GD is right about one thing though, the rest of the team were average to below average as well.

  63. naplesfan2010's avatar naplesfan2010 says:

VICTORYYYYYY over the cheaters. Love it!.

  64. finfanrob's avatar finfanrob says:

wasnt trying to beat you down. if you are happy and enjoying this win more power to you.

  65. getterdone's avatar getterdone says:

Naples, how could you like the coaches/Philbin Coyle & Lazor and think we could’ve done this all year? Did ya find some good Naples bud there? 😉

  66. rgs322's avatar rgs322 says:

I believe the Tampa game is the only one that effects our draft position now.

  67. naplesfan2010's avatar naplesfan2010 says:

    R. Tannehill 25 /38 for 350 w/2TDs is certainly above average.

    • Tim Knight's avatar Tim Knight says:

There’s a lot of reasons for that. Everything we asked for this year was in this offense today. But we had to defy all that all season. SMH

  68. Tim Knight's avatar Tim Knight says:

So today’s performance means nothing now? No young players stepping up. Way to still shit on the team no matter what happens.

The Pats now have to wait and watch for their #1 seed. I love it!

    • D's avatar D says:

No I was really pleased with Parker’s progression. Lippett looked good. Was positive signs. It’s just not a game you can erase all f failures with. Your trying to make more of this game than you can

    • Ken's avatar Ken says:

Truth is it doesn’t mean much. We beat an injured Pats team that didn’t have much to play for. I still enjoyed it

    • New Age's avatar New Age says:

I think everyone was glad to see some things verified and other hopeful things as well. I knew Parker would be good and probably great. It looks great to me. Glad to see some youngsters play well.

As we have mentioned, there is talent here to use. We can be good next year with the right coaching staff and a few picks lost and gained.

  69. D's avatar D says:

We should know something soon regarding coaches. I’m looking forward to that. Will let us see what direction the team might be headed

  70. naplesfan2010's avatar naplesfan2010 says:

I never liked Coyle because he plays soft. I have said that from his first year.

    • D's avatar D says:

Despite his lack of experience with defenses, I think the philosophy Campbell has lens itself to a good defensive coordinator philosophy. His future is there, it’s just not now

  71. naplesfan2010's avatar naplesfan2010 says:

I never liked Lazor because he never understood situational football and never understood how to use the running game. I have complained about his scheme and game day play calling from his arrival.

  72. The Flying Pig's avatar The Flying Pig says:

  73. Tim Knight's avatar Tim Knight says:

Campbell went 5-7 in a very difficult situation. I like him as our HC with more experienced coordinators. I agree with GD. Not sure that will happen but as a fan I’ll be fine with it. Personnel has a lot to do with this team though we have some things to look forward too. 🙂

  74. getterdone's avatar getterdone says:

Ken, ….and teams beat our injured ass during the year. It’s not like we didn’t have injuries too. Hell we were down to the 3rd Center in the game….lol

    • getterdone's avatar getterdone says:

Pats & Brady are supposed to rise above injuries remember. Terrific Tom carries the team on his shoulders. He’s a leader.
Belicheat inspires greatness with no matter who he has right?

    • Ken's avatar Ken says:

Not the point. The point is don’t read too much into this win. It is nice but it is hard to take anything away from it

  75. New Age's avatar New Age says:

We lose Philbin and team…and actually win the last game of the year! Lol!

  76. naplesfan2010's avatar naplesfan2010 says:

We had just as many injuries as the patsies* … Many teams are beat up this time of year.
We lost our super player Wake, our starting S Delmas, our starting RT and C and OLB and WR
1st round draft choice (parker) for half the season and last yr’s for the whole season (Dion the idiot). NE does not get to whine about being nicked up.

  77. rgs322's avatar rgs322 says:

Looks like we should be picking either #8 or #9. …Depends on Tampa and the final SOS for both teams if we tie record wise.

  78. Mike E.'s avatar Mike E. says:

Jets fans must be stinging after that loss. Us Dolphins fans know it all too well

  79. naplesfan2010's avatar naplesfan2010 says:

This win means everything to me. It was the only game we played today and WE WON!
All the arrogant pasties* fans must now make excuses
and pretend it doesn’t hurt that we kicked their asses.

  80. getterdone's avatar getterdone says:

Ken, then none of our wins mean anything right?

  81. D's avatar D says:

Actually we could wind up 10th I think. We have 7 ahead of us, then Chicago nyg and TB could ask us for record. I’m not sure or SOS against all 3

    • naplesfan2010's avatar naplesfan2010 says:

True … we are tied in record with them and maybe TB so we have to wait to see how a lot of other games go to find out the tie-breakers.

    • rgs322's avatar rgs322 says:

Heading into today SOS for the following teams.

      Mia .453
      TB .453
      Chic .556
      NYG .498

With only one week and everyone playing division games, it’s doubtful Chicago or NY would move ahead of us or TB.

  82. naplesfan2010's avatar naplesfan2010 says:

We get to say we split with NE who are the defending Super Bowl champs.
It’s not like they rested their starters the whole game.
We get to talk smack all off-season.

  83. finfanrob's avatar finfanrob says:

i hate the cheats and their fans, i have made my feelings for anything boston clear. but if this win drops us out of a better draft pick it is worthless to me. this win means nothing for the future of the team where as a higher draft pick has the possibility of adding to the team

    • D's avatar D says:

I hate losing on purpose but yes this win did nothing but give us a bit of morale going intoboff-season. It doesn’t erase the cock up of a season we just had, or doesn’t fill holes our team has, it doesn’t fix our coaching situation, it really did nothing of substance for us

  84. D's avatar D says:

There is no taking a couple of you off Campbell’s cock right now. If the pick him I don’t think he will be the worst choice but we definitely will not be in best position to be successful next year. In a few years maybe, but I think it’s going to take at least 2-3 before he gets his footing

  85. naplesfan2010's avatar naplesfan2010 says:

    We are undefeated this year!!!

  86. Mike E.'s avatar Mike E. says:

I’m happy we won, sorry we moved down in the draft, but happy the Jets lost.

Not having to listen to dumbass Jets fans mouthing off the rest of the reason – PRICELESS!

  87. Tim Knight's avatar Tim Knight says:

I don’t see this draft just yet where we have to be in any one position in the top 10. Who are we losing out on?

  88. finfanrob's avatar finfanrob says:

this game this season was like my golf game

i am absolutely horrible. every now and then i can hit a good shot here or there. get totally fucking frustrated and pissed the rest of the time. then sure enough on the 18th hole i hit 3 or 4 great shots and think, wow this isnt to bad.

  89. getterdone's avatar getterdone says:

Ken, you don’t take much away from this win & it’s meaningless to you. But what would you take away fro it if we got blown out? Or if we got beat on last drive?

This team has some talent, a lot actually. Talent that has been misused in my opinion.
That should change hopefully with the new HC & staff. So in that regards, I guess things are meaningless with the current regime & it’s leftover interim coaches.

    • D's avatar D says:

I agree with that we do have some young talent and it was good to see them out there getting experience. Ken is right though it doesn’t fix any of our big issue so it did nothing other than give us a last smile before post season

  90. sb7mvp's avatar sb7mvp says:

We beat the Patriots to end the season. Nothing more to say. See you next year.

  91. Mike E.'s avatar Mike E. says:

Totally understand how Ken feels. The win for the most part doesn’t really mean anything. To me though, it was fun knocking Brady around, and watching some good performances from some of our young players. The Patriots definitely wanted to win, and we beat them. I’d feel better going into the draft picking 3 through 6, rather than 8-11, but that doesn’t make this game any less fun to watch.

  92. finfanrob's avatar finfanrob says:

    D

it truly didnt. it is like taking home the last girl at the bar. yeah, you maybe feel successful for a minute but then you realize it was the last girl at the bar.

  93. naplesfan2010's avatar naplesfan2010 says:

This game today was just awesome. So many young players stepping up. Tannehill with a great game. The rushing game looking tough. Parker looking studly. Both our TEs catching balls. Brady ineffective. The D holding them to 10 points when they average 30 … so many great things to cheer about.

  94. D's avatar D says:

Didn’t play victim Tim. Sorry if I hit a nerve but you guys are seriously stuck on Campbell. You guys have grasped the smallest signs to make a guy who isn’t ready be the next don schula.

    • naplesfan2010's avatar naplesfan2010 says:

Just don’t say that if i think someone is a good coach, that I am a homosexual for that person. That is way outta line there, buck.

      • D's avatar D says:

Lol I want calling any of you homos I was saying you are stuck on him something close. Did you really take that as a literal statement?

  95. finfanrob's avatar finfanrob says:

the only way this game would feel good is if it didnt drop the fins several draft spots. if they went from 5th to 6th then the win feels great. if they go from 5th to 10th then like normal, the fins fucked up again.

  96. D's avatar D says:

Tim you need to check yourself too bro you are just as bad as anyone here. I got called a liar. Sorry if you thought I was calling you out for your sexual preference but I was just using that to show the level of your adoration.

  97. finfanrob's avatar finfanrob says:

    D

i agree with you there on Campbell. the guy is not ready to be a HC. and to say, just get him great coordinators, well then why not get a HC ready to be a HC and get him great coordinators.

i think it is homerism at its best wanting campbell to stay .

  99. Tim Knight's avatar Tim Knight says:

I as a fan likes to see my team with a lot of young players show up. Shit the bed and the offseason promise is less. You want that over 3-4 spots in the 1st rd?

  100. getterdone's avatar getterdone says:

    D, nobody’s swinging from Campbell’s jock. C’mon man.
Just throwing out an observation. He’s clearly in the mix with other coaching candidates like it or NOT!
So if he’s in the mix. I say then get him a real good staff, or he may have a real good staff in mind. Change the philosophy, schemes, & play calling while drafting more good talent, and yes, even Campbell might win as many games as say Adam Gase, Josh McDaniels, etc., or some college coach.
How’s that being on the guy’s cock? Just because you dislike the guy so much, that anyone considering him is that F’d up?

    • Tim Knight's avatar Tim Knight says:
