The one thing I like about Earth is the ability of your canines to solve mysteries that your human police cannot solve. Especially Haunted Mysteries!
SPOOKY!
Scooby Wright is Great Dane from Arizona who’s best friend is a stoner who eats dog food with him. He is also hangs out with a hot redhead named Daphne and two other people I barely notice. Scooby is known for his tenacity on the field and in haunted mansions.
I may be blending my Scoobies together…

The point is: Scooby Wright can play football…um and solve mysteries…
The legend of Scooby Wright really picked up in 2014. Zoinks!!! Get a load of these numbers. In 2014 Scooby had 14 sacks, 163 tackles, 29 tackles for a loss and 6 forced fumbles.
Opposing offenses in 2014 were heard saying “Like…Heeelpppp” every time Scooby was near. That’s because Scooby in one of the most aggressive linebackers in college football. He flies around the field showing incredible lateral quickness and a nonstop motor!

What a ham…why is Scooby so aggressive? Because he can be! Scooby seems to have the unique knack of reading a play before its gets going and destroying it. He makes more big plays than most defensive players in college do and he makes a ton of big hits bringing the ball carrier down.
This guy is flat out Scrappy (Doo)!
Creepers!!! Some people are really not enthusiastic about his size. Ironically Scooby has drawn a few comparisons to a Dolphins great – Zach Thomas. But he is much bigger than Zach. I’ve also seen him compared to Clay Matthews. I’m not sure if Scooby plays inside or outside at the next level – but those are impressive comparisons.

But the one thing that scares people about Scooby is a lack of lower body strength. He also missed a majority of the 2015 season with nagging injuries. Like Wow…His 2015 season was nowhere near as productive as his 2014 season.
That said, its hard not to notice the groovy impact Scooby has when he is on the field. He reads the play and attacks – disrupting the play like a blue chip playmaker. Gangway!!!
And Scooby has a real mean streak too!

Arizona actually plays a 3-3-5 defense. The wildcats did not do a very good job eating up blocks up front by playing 3 down linemen and 5 defensive backs as a base defense. Scooby did a great job of getting around blockers and making plays despite little support up front.
If it wasn’t for those meddling offensive lineman up front, he would be an unstoppable force – but he did struggle shedding blocks from time to time. But if Scooby was playing behind Suh and Phillips, I think his strengths are highlighted and his tenacity would make Dolfans smile every week.

By the way his real name is Phillip. If Phillip was an alien weapon of destruction, he would be a Galactic Buzzsaw.
BZZZZZZZ
BZZZZZZZZZZ
I’m gonna cut through your spaceship and destroy you!

He’s a leader and a winner he just had to grow into it as an NFL player. I don’t know if there was any great revelation but rather just growth and maturity.
———————————–
At Auburn he was the same kinda guy. He showboated, he ball hogged, but part of it was because he had to. He didnt have the team around him to be able to turn it over. Once your in the pro’s, you have to learn to depend on your teammates, some more than others, but you cant play that way. When he got benched, he got mopey, he walked away from his team, he sulked on the bench away from everyone, he didnt take it as an “im going to learn something let me stand here hold this clipboard and find out what i need to do to get back in the game. He showed a lot of immaturity, something he had done his first year as well, when his showboating and the rest of the leagues lack of film let him get away with it. I know its his accomplishment to have turned it around and i applaud him for it, but he wasnt always going down that road, and i believe Steve Smith is a major reason he got put back on it.
D
I think its unprofessional because it makes personal attacks and is not an evaluation of a football player
its sounds like a 13 year old girl at the mall pointing out what another girl is wearing “oh my god and she has such a fake smile too”
its kind of childish stuff
Yeah my reply to you further up, thats what i said. Its unprofessional because it was emotional and not just stating the facts.

every team would want bad leaders…lol
success is the important component
———————————————–
Lots of teams take players every year that are talented and have not drop one of leadership and maturity. Carolina drafted him because he was the best player, he’s an extremely rare athletic beast, and they had a severe need at the positon. Its good its turning out for them but, Johnny Manziel, Jamarcus Russell, Ryan Leaf, etc etc etc. show that it doesnt always.
I will see you later humans
I got to head out for now
Jeez, I don’t know who pull out of Cam’s ass first, Son or Piggy. You guys OK in there? lol
I love some Cam
Oh I know you do.
I saw Cam as a leader at Auburn, he got the system, he mastered the system and he carried his team to an undefeated season. I watched just about every Auburn game that year because I was so intriuged by him and I honestly never understood much of the criticism he received, I always saw an extremely talented guy, a winner and a leader. Turns out I was right too.
Stanger, the smart thing is to send them out. You’ll be ignored all night anyway may as well stay home.
Exactly what I am hoping for, but they won’t Fing leave. Saying things like “get the out of here, you won’t be able to get a table at Yolo” just doesn’t work. Surprise surprise.

Check this out . . . Remember the lineup I typed in when we signed Cespedes?
PORT ST. LUCIE, Fla. – For a manager, it’s never too early to write out a lineup.
Terry Collins revealed his most likely Mets lineup to The Post with the start of spring training just two weeks away:
1. Curtis Granderson, RF
2. David Wright, 3B
3. Yoenis Cespedes, CF
4. Lucas Duda, 1B
5. Neil Walker, 2B
6. Michael Conforto, LF
7. Travis d’Arnaud, C
8. Asdrubal Cabrera, SS
9. Pitcher
He normally likes to go righty/lefty but Cespedes hits righties better than lefties so there is that. I think Conforto could move up in time and then Cespedes and him could flip flop batting 3rd with Cespedes hitting cleanup and Duda batting 5th.
However I did a few lineups last week and that was one of them.
No buts, I got it right! lol
Conforto won’t be hitting 3rd for at least another year, or until he proves he can hit LHP as well or close to as well as RHP
Mike E, it wasn’t that difficult though. LOL
Of course not. It was just my preference to have Cespedes in the 3 hole. It wasn’t genius or anything.
I don’t view him as a 3 hitter though. He too much of a free swinger but I get the impact bat aspect of it. If Wright didn’t have the back and durability issues, he’d be the better 3 hitter.
Cespedes is the best bat in the lineup right now, he should get more AB’s. He also puts a little speed on the bases at the top of the lineup.
I get that and he batted 3rd last year too so no biggie. I would prefer him as a cleanup hitter and Duda 5th because he’s so damn streaky. Cespedes is a free swinger and wants to hit the ball so I think cleanup is perfect for him but I’m not going to complain that he bats 3rd a lot. I think he’ll bat cleanup too, he did that last year as well.
You can’t restructure Misi without him first testing the market, and he can’t stay at his current salary and be a bench player. He’d be fine, if we had Zach playing next to him.
You can ask Misi if he’s willing to restructure because he wants t be here. But he doesn’t make a ton of money anyway so I don’t think it’s that big of a deal. I would not be surprised if he’s one of our starting LBs again. We need to upgrade the LB corps overall though.
http://www.spotrac.com/nfl/miami-dolphins/koa-misi/
Why don’t you think $5 mil for an average player isn’t too much?.
Mike, do you know the Bob Marley tune Exodus?
Exodus… movement of the people.
Well how about – Cespedes… movement of the people.
I really think the Wilpon’s heard the fans on Cespedes and they made it happen. If he went to the Nats along with Murphy and they beat us out for the division it would have been a PR nightmare.
Alabama LB Reggie Ragland has received a lot of praise for his play this week, but I didn’t see it today.
http://draftbreakdown.com/2016-senior-bowl-practice-recap-day-three/
He’s the one LB out there that I am really iffy about
Why?
Yeah it does, after about the 20th time I watched it got old 😉
If I had a dollar for everytime someone said cespedes on this board I’d have Stanger money.
No Tannehill is Stanger money. LOL
For WY
Okay for all of us
Tim
I tend to think Ragland benefited from playing behind a great DL
And he’s not very good in coverage
Piggy, how many LBs do you think excel in coverage? He also becomes part of the DL on 3rd and long as an outside rusher. He looks like a MLB as opposed to all the undersized guys people talk about here.
I’m warning you, the NFL is a different beast than college and undersized guys already have an uphill climb.
You like Myles Jack right because he excels in coverage at least at the college level? He’s known to not be very physical or special against the run. So there are very few all around LBs but we try to make prospects be that with visual fantasizing. LOL
Saw this article and thought to myself of Ross and his bs tactic of crowding out tix brokers. Finally, someone with the balls to call out the NFL

At the end, Joseph finished up with a question regarding the linebackers, specifically the middle line backer.
“The middle linebacker has got to be a guy with great leadership. He’s the signal-caller; he’s the quarterback on defense. He’s got to be a physical, great tackler and a tone setter. In the 4-3 you’ve got three backers and the Mike backer is more of the tough, signal-caller leadership guy and the Sam and Will are more of the athletic guys who play in space.”
*********************************************************************
Sounds like Reggie Ragland to me
Yeah and he also said pass rushers and corners who can cover on the outside is the key to playing good defense.

Misi is not worth that much. He is not a starting caliber LB. He has done yeoman’s work but at the end of the day he is of limilted athletic ability to play the position. We need to move on. Sheppard is athletic but lacks the instincts. I would keep Shepard and see if he can develop but let Misi go.
Misi is starter caliber he’s just not a playmaker. Sheppard has been around long enough, he is what he is. He played a few good games this season but he also had games where he played poorly. He’s a UFA and I’d let him go elsewhere. I wouldn’t be shocked if we moved on from Misi either but we better add some LBs before we allow starters to walk.

There is tape of Tannehill doing everything well. Which means the ability is there. His issue is consistency and clutch play. Like I’ve been saying for awhile in the Tannehill debate, until the OL/pass pro eliminates those ridiculous jail breaks where 3 defenders are in the backfield before he can set his feet, like the OL aren’t even there, we’re not really going to know what level RT can take his game.
All QBs have to deal with pressure and take some sacks, but come on! You know it’s bad when you can predict when it’s going to happen. “Oh look it’s 3rd and 13 4th qtr down by a TD and we’re in shotgun like we have been all day, we’re going to get sacked here and punt. And right on cue there it is. Unbelievable!”
I can’t count how many times I said shit like that over the last few years.

According to NFL.com’s Albert Breer, Panthers DC Sean McDermott’s interview for the Buccaneers’ head coaching position went “very, very well.”
It doesn’t matter now since the Bucs ended up hiring Dirk Koetter, but Breer suspects McDermott will be “at the very top of 2017 search lists.” Teams went coordinator-heavy in their head coaching hires this offseason and the same could happen again in 2017. When the next batch of head coaching hires happens, McDermott should be just as coveted as Adam Gase was this season.

Tim, good article above. Glad to see Gase & Clyde like what they seee in Tanny.
I mentioned this the other day when it the Gase hiring was being questioned.
Of course he wanted to come here vs other teams. he thinks he can build around his QB and go places!
Exactly! I believe Christensen also liked the challenge and I think he and his wife probably wanted to live in warmer weather for a change. LOL
The challenge in Miami is a good one because if you have success you’ll be the toast of the town. If not everyone is used to it.
Steelers OC Todd Haley reportedly told NFL teams he was not interested in becoming a head coach this offseason.
The Dolphins were rumored to have interest in Haley shortly after the season, but nothing materialized. Despite several critical injuries, Haley’s Steelers offenses have ranked seventh and fourth in the NFL in points the past two seasons. Haley is also said to have mellowed since his hot-head days. With Ben Roethlisberger, Le’Veon Bell, Antonio Brown, Martavis Bryant, and Markus Wheaton all returning, Haley’s offense is a favorite to lead the NFL in scoring in 2016.
Talent might have a little something to do with that. 😉

It sounds like we’re going to run an offense very similar to what the Colts ran in Peyton’s heyday. Gase learned first under Mariucci’s WCO in DET (who also think RT is going to become a very good QB), then Martz’s Air Coryell system in SF, then in DEN under Josh McDaniels/Mike McCoy, then Peyton’s offense when he came on board. He’s taken ideas from all of them. He also said he took McDaniel’s game to game play-calling approach – meaning best matchups/approach per opponent.
We might see one game where we’re balanced 30 rush/35 pass, then a heavy pass attack 20 rush/40+ pass – run to keep them honest, then 35 rush/25 pass because that’s how that game went. Lazor basically ran the #2 option most of the time regardless of opponent.
Christensen was with Peyton in Indy for 10 years and 14 years overall with Luck the last 4 years. So Gase and he are going to take the things they like and what they feel RT and our other offensive personnel does well and mesh them. They’re both more established as OCs and play-callers than Lazor was.
I think a completely new start from HC to OC to QBs coach will be good for RT. He’s only known Sherman, Taylor (college and pros), Philbin and Lazor. Now it’s all new and a fresh start for him and the entire team. We’ll see but I will remain positive about it until I have a reason not to be. 🙂
Good post. Yeah Tannehill will be fine. Just protect him better, give him sometime, give him some balanced play calling, & give the offense better routes, play designs.
Thanks. Been learning about these guys and looking at it from the Phins perspective now.
I’m not worried about RT, I think he’s a good young QB who has put up good numbers and has displayed skills in every area. But he has not been on very good teams. Does he make mistakes and struggle at times, of course. Every QB does. But what we need as a team is to not have glaring deficiencies in personnel to begin with. On a solidly built team we’ll go to the playoffs with RT. How far I have no idea. Giants fans had no idea about Eli until they did it. Those weren’t even great teams, they made the playoffs and got hot, Eli made big throws, there were great catches, and they had a wicked pass rush.
Looks like Son, Piggy and GDP all will be attending the SuperBowl.
GDP will be swinging from Mike Shula’s nutsack, while Son and Piggy are sharing room inside Cam’s Man Anus. lol

Where’d that “R” come from. You poor bastard
Christensen said he’s just there to help Gase out, in any way he can. Calling the plays is only about 20% of the job, he’ll do the work during the week, with the help of others, to get the play sheet/offensive game plan ready, but Gase has a knack for calling the right play at the right time.
Do you think Christensen is the booth guy? If Gase calls the offensive plays you need an eye in the sky.

Not snooty at all. They are just having a long weekend in South Florida. And I’ve met each like twice…….they have their priorities.
It’s Florida they’re here for I guess, not necessarily your wife?
I can’t speak for their motives, but when you live in Florida you have a lot more friends who would just love to see you. Often including the day before they get on a cruise (which I am sure they just planned cause of how much they missed you).
And that includes a bunch of my friends too.

Gotcha Stanger.
Wyoming, good report from the SB.
2 guys I like a lot are on there. Blake Martinez is going to start at the next level.
I like Harlan Miller too, he seems to be consistent, stays within his game.
Stanger:
Come hell or high water I coming for the fest next year. I wish full schedule was out soon as I know my trial calendar for the fall will start filling up pretty soon. But whatever I can do to move stuff around I will do because I was bummed I missed this years.
Awesome — you are first on the Fest list. You know what that day is like.

We’re picking #8, #42 and #73. That’s etched in stone. We have 8 draft picks overall with two 7s. Gotta add some impact this year at the top.
I would love a trade down to pick up some extra picks but not a trade out of the 1st round.
I’m in roll tide hell
I just did a 4 rd mock using CBS. The 5th on becomes more cloudy.
8: R1P8 OLB MYLES JACK UCLA
38: R2P7 OLB LEONARD FLOYD GEORGIA
69: R3P6 FS DARIAN THOMPSON BOISE STATE
100: R4P5 OG SEBASTIAN TRETOLA ARKANSAS
Nice 4 picks, much needed. But I’d go Martinez if he’s still on the board with our 2nd pick.
I don’t know if he was there, Floyd was the top prospect available and he’s ranked as a late 1st rd guy. So it was a great value pick and a need. He can give us some pass rush too. He’d probably be better as a 3-4 OLB but he has the skills to play in the 4-3 as well and be an edge rusher at times.
My thinking on this one was this:
We feel we have some DEs in-house, we add another in FA, not a blockbuster type but a guy we think can help us. Wake comes back in a lesser role. Purely a pass rush specialist.
We kick Misi back inside, sign a 2nd tier MLB in FA we consider an upgrade over Sheppard and let them along with Vigil compete at MLB and maybe another rookie. Then Jack and Floyd compete with Jenkins, Hewitt etc. at OLB.
It’s one scenario based on how this draft went. I went with value matching need. I also don’t know how the draft order changed, other teams must have made trades I wasn’t aware of, I didn’t make any.
I know the Phins are what we care about here, but if you want to know more about what else Ross has on his plate read this.
http://www.miamiherald.com/news/business/biz-monday/article56164980.html
Hard to believe, but his world is about a whole more than the Dolphins.
Then he needs to get his priorities straight. If the Phins are just a pet project for him then get out of the ownership business.
Like it or not, that’s why he hired Mr. T to oversee the football business and report to him on the status of the team. Ross isn’t and doesn’t think of himself as a football man. So he hired someone to do that on the business end. Then Mr. T relies on Grier and Gase to build the football team.
Ken —- just don’t see a way to make that happen. He’s worth far more than the Phins. And if the Phins are his hobby not sure how to make him give it up.
You are right Tim. Ross doesn’t consider himself a football man. Unfortunately he seems to be one of those owners who wants to own a team as it represents a status symbol to him. He knows shit about the business and doesn’t seem to care about learning it. That is where I tend to agree with OD. Unlike OD I don’t go off about getting rid of Ross because there is no point in tilting at Windmills. This is the reality of what we have until the day comes that Ross decides he has had enough as an owner.
Just saw gronk
Personally?
No but was about 15ft from him. Doesn’t seem nearly as big without the pads
Go up and kick him in the nuts
Oakman is top heavy. Let body seems out of proportion
Thin legs?
Yeah
Ken, I personally don’t want the owner that involved. He hires people to run the team in PR, brand and the football side of things. He’s lets people do their jobs. Now we want a meddling owner? I don’t get it.
There is a difference between having an owner who meddles and having an owner who is appropriately involved and knows the business much like the Rooneys or the Maras. Instead we got a guy who wants a red carpet and listens to which the wind is blowing rather than having a consistent plan as to how to run an organization. In terms of owners imo we are in the bottom 1/3 of the league.
Okay, I don’t see it that way.
He had a decent bit of security around him. Probably wouldn’t have gotten anywhere near his nuts
You never know he may have wanted that. LOL
Sean Davis just STUCK that tackle
D — I think Gronk is a freaking idiot. And maybe the pads are what make him look more beefy. But that guy is a weapon. Met a bunch of people along the way who I didn’t like but appreciated were really good at their job.
I’ll try to save some for the article but treolta just impressing

You should listen to Jason Taylor on NFL radio. He is on Wednesday mornings. He talks a lot of Phins. He doesn’t trash Ross but he always talks about him listening to too many different voices and not really knowing the business and who to follow. He has a pretty good insight on the Phins.
Right and maybe now that is changing. Mr. T has only been here a year+ now.
Unfortunately it’s Tannebaum who I am not a fan of either. I get it he has been in the business but he put the Jets in cap hell and he has done the same to us. To me it’s an example of putting the wrong people in a position of power. Maybe Tannebaum has more of a plan than I give him credit for but his first year is less than inspiring. I wish I shared your optimism on this topic but I just don’t see it with this organization.
Tim, Floyd will likely be very good. He’s been playing in a 3-4 ran @ UG. That’s why I was leaning more on the other kid. But hey, not to say Floyd couldn’t fin a place in our LB starved Defense.
Yeah he’s built more 4-3 though at 6-3 230+. You can utilize those stand up OLB skills in a 4-3 at different times. He’ll likely be a good blitzer. We saw last year we’d play 3 down and one up so there you go!
Sean Davis….boom! Thanks D.
I like him as an all around DB for us. He’s played both on the corner & as a safety.
BTW, he’s be a cheaper option / lower draft pick Jalen Mills type for us. Might even be better than Mills in the long run.
Wentz passing not all that
So much for the buzz of him being the first QB off the board.
Matakevich all over the place but damn he looks tiny out there
I’ve read that before about him. He’s still competing with his contemporaries. The NFL is a different beast.
Beautiful run by green, very Miller like
Tim, I hear ya on Floyd. But after you went Miles Jack in the 1st, I rather go for say a DE like Dodd if you want a pass rusher. But I understand what you’re trying to do. Just my opinion too.
It was one scenario. You know I’m all about the pass rush.
Gotta run. Peace to you all.
Peace love & hair grease.
Ken, it’s not so much optimism as it is accepting what it is, seeing why it was done that way and we go from there as fans. I don’t have grandiose expectations. I’m just hoping we got it right. I don’t believe in predictions because they’re often wrong.
My focus is always on the football side of things, not what the front office is doing all the time. The football side of things is very new now. No denying it. Mr. T is firmly in his position as football czar, Grier is the GM of player personnel, Gase is the HC and he picked his staff. That’s not Ireland, Hickey, Philbin and his staff.
Nailing the draft, FA, & installing proper systems to fit the players on both sides of the ball will go a long way to making this franchise prominent once again.
Yep and it really hasn’t been that way has it? I do agree with others Ross fucked it up from the Harbaugh situation until now. He did blow it up though. Some fans just don’t like the people he hired. But whatever!
